About Me

  1. May 11, 2014 https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/766518.html WHO: Chocho WHERE: Furaffinity WHAT: Full body / Full color / Background piece ($100) paid for & charged back. WHEN: May 3rd to Present * EDIT: May 17th PROOF: http://puu.sh/8IzSP.png http://puu.sh/8IzUj.png http://puu.sh/8IA56.png http://puu.sh/8IAcl.png EXPLAIN: I was contacted by Chocho on May 2nd using my Google Docs form to request a commission. I responded on May 3rd with a request to invoice. They said they currently didn't have access to a desktop, so I sent them my e-mail to send the information to. It is worth noting that the last name of the client and the last name on the account were the same, so I accepted the payment without worrying too much. ***I understand now that this should have been a red flag and I will now enforce/refund any money given to me outside of invoices, no exceptions.*** I had been a bit later than anticipating to respond to them with a sketched piece on May 9th. The next day, they issued me a chargeback and I did not realize until this morning (May 11th). My Terms of Service outlines that I only issue half-refunds after the sketch is completed, unless the client contacts me with more information. Instead, they simply charged the money back and I was out $112 (as I xfer my funds to Canadian Dollars.) So I spent $12 CAD to give someone a sketch! I refunded the transaction in full, noted my policies in the refund details, and sent them on their way. I know paypal has iffy policies on art-transactions and do not have the patience to argue with them about $50. I was going to wait a period of time before I sent this beware to get a response, but due to the nature of the transaction, I figured I should submit this as soon as possible. My best guess is that the client may have dishonestly used a family paypal or credit card to issue the funds and the family member issued a chargeback after not recognizing the charge. I do not anticipate being refunded $50, nor do I expect to be contacted again, so this is a general beware that I do not expect to be 'resolved'. I have updated my Terms of Service and my own personal policies to reflect that I am an invoice-only artist to avoid any future issues such as these. I know this is ultimately my own fault. Thank you for reading. --------- Edit May 17th 2014: Here is my e-mail correspondence with Chocho to try and resolve the issue: http://puu.sh/8Pttt.png The latest note being sent to me May 12th. These journals went up on their page in the past few days (language): http://puu.sh/8PtmI http://puu.sh/8PtmX The short version is that they bank card was stolen and money was spent on it. I'm not sure why they linked their college courses as a reason for not having money (if it was stolen).
  2. May 14, 2014 https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/766364.html I have this marked as adult because some of the stuff on her commission spreadsheet is for adult commissions. WHO: Skink/Paint. She no longer goes by Paint, but her other two bewares are under that name. I think this beware should be added under that name for her, as well as Skink since it is what she now goes by. WHERE: I commissioned her over FA on Paint, but she is active here- https://www.weasyl.com/~skink WHAT: I commissioned her January 19th 2013 for $110 worth of pay what you want commissions, to be divided into two images. A few months later, I commissioned her again for $30 colored sketch. (exact date not known because I paid for it over some sort of funding website and can't seem to find it on my paypal although I remember paying and I am down on her commission spreadsheet for this commission. See the spreadsheet later). WHEN: I made the first payment to her on January 19th 2013. She was fine in keeping contact with me whenever I sent her a note. The last reply I've heard from her in note form was on January 21st 2014. After that date she has not replied to any of my messages regarding the commissions. I wouldn't be so concerned, however she opened commissions March 29th and did finish a handful of these new commissions, posting them to Weasyl while I continued to receive no reply to my messages. PROOF: The initial commission agreement for the $110 commission took place over stream so I don't have a screenshot of my asking and her saying yes, however here is a screenshot of my paypal payment of $110 to her as well as screenshots of my name and commissions on her queue. As stated before, the colored sketch was commissioned over a funding website that I cannot remember, but that commission is on her queue as well. The payment- http://oi62.tinypic.com/ixfkus.jpg The queue- http://oi57.tinypic.com/15z5a46.jpg my commissions are near the top and bottom. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ak6G1XPK44mudFNHWW83ODhYTmNsVkpNLWN5aE5RTmc#gid=0 this is the actual link to the google docs of the commission spreadsheet. EXPLAIN: I like Skink's style, enjoy how she draws my characters, so in the past I commissioned her as much as I possibly could. Until this incident she has been quick to deliver the artwork, so I didn't hesitate to pay her the $110 for these particular commissions, assuming that I'd get the work done pretty quickly, as it had been done before. It took her a little longer than usual, but it didn't bother me. She kept her watchers updated with journals about rough going-ons at her job, things that would normally delay commissions. Understandable. I sent her the occasional message for updates, but mostly just kept up with her journals, which stated what was going on with her life. It wasn't really until in January, the ~1 year anniversary of my paying her the initial $110, that I began messaging her more frequently about the commissions. The first note I sent was amiable, just asking what's up, and she replied with reasons why there had been further delay. The reasons were a little personal so I'm not posting the screenshots, but this series of notes wasn't an issue for me because she did reply and let me know that she would be telling me when my commissions were up for being worked on. I'm happy. My next note was a little over a week later. http://oi57.tinypic.com/dfeici.jpg It proposes a deadline and asks if she can get back to me if that date doesn't work for her. I receive no reply. She opens up for new commissions March 29th https://www.weasyl.com/journal/45742/daily-color-sketch-commissions-plush-and-charms Her old queue shows no signs of being worked on. April 1st I send another note. http://oi58.tinypic.com/2z68t4y.jpg Just reminding her. Still no reply. The same day I send her a note about a commissioner she was having trouble with that I had had troubles with in the past as well, and she answers it promptly. Granted I didn't send it to her for any reason than to talk to her about that commissioner, but I still am surprised that she answers the note right away. This is very frustrating for me to hear /nothing/ back from an artist about the commissions I paid for, who I can see is still being active at this point, from her Weasyl and Tumblr. On Tumblr I send her a message asking her to check her Weasyl notes. I send another note April 7th which is basically a repeat of my April 1st note. Finally, I sent this note April 30th http://oi62.tinypic.com/b4jjgk.jpg I guess in my Tumblr message or some other means I asked for simply a refund, because that's what I say. I don't have a record of that first message asking for a refund though. Honestly by the point of April 30th though even if I hadn't asked for one before, I wanted a refund. Since then I have attempted to contact her over AIM to no avail. When I try to send her a message over AIM it tells me that she doesn't receive offline messages and when I do manage to get a message to go through(?) (it appears as if she's invisible, but I don't get the 'no offline messages' message) there is still no reply. I want my money back, but I am getting no replies at all from her. If nothing else I can write up this artist beware to add to the others on the site which seem to be about this same situation. I wasn't worried about her giving reasons to delay the commissions because everyone runs into bad situations where they can't do commissions as fast as they'd like... but the fact that she opened up commissions for a brief time in March with the promise of using them as warm ups for her main queue, finished some of the commissions without even an update on the main queue, coupled with the other artist bewares compelled me to finally write this up. Skink is talented, but if this is repeat behavior from her then beware this artist.
  3. https://www.furaffinity.net/user/stripedbearboi/ Discord birdistheword#1981 26.10.2020 stripedbearboi ordered a commission from me via Discord. The order consisted of two characters in a NSFW situation. Based on the description of the customer's idea, I offered him a full body full render. The cost of such an order was $ 400. The customer could not pay such an amount, so we agreed on lineart + flat color. It cost $ 200. But this seemed to the customer a lot and he asked for a discount. The final price was $ 190. After creating the sketch, I received its approval and sent an invoice for payment for birdistheword According to my ToS, which was provided to the client, I am requesting a 100% advance payment after the sketch is approved. The customer ignored my invoice for payment and in the messages said that he could not pay. This is confirmed in the screenshots from Discord. Then I asked him to pay only a sketch, and to stop cooperation. I asked to pay for the sketch because it had already been created and approved. The need to pay for the approved outline is also spelled out in my ToS. Since the customer (according to him) did not have PayPal, he paid for the sketch through the Ko-Fi platform in the amount of $ 60 on 01/31/2021. However, on February 19, 2021, I receive a notification in my email that my received payment is on hold. The customer canceled their payment. He motivates this by the fact that he did not receive a drawing in color. But for my part, I did not violate the terms of the deal - I made a sketch. I just asked to pay for it. I repeatedly told him that now he is paying ONLY for a sketch. The need to pay for the approved sketch, despite the termination of cooperation, is written in my ToS. This was also discussed in Discord posts. It is also written there repeatedly that after the payment of the outline of the cooperation there will be no more.
  4. Jul. 6th, 2012 at 9:22 PM intervivos_2 WHO: TheSassyJessy/CelestetheHedgehog/Palette Swap http://askpalette-swap.tumblr.com/ http://celestethehedgehog.deviantart.com/ http://thesassyjessy.deviantart.com/ WHERE: deviantart and is also on tumblr WHAT: 5 traditional sketches, then later on changed last sketch to a 3 full pics of a pony character to make up for the wait WHEN: July 12th 2011 is when I contacted her, she acccepted, payment was sent on the 15th of the same month. PROOF: Original DA notes confirming the commissions(s) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/cellydanote1.png Paypal statement: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/cellypaypal.png journals saying she was going to leave her account once commissions were done; other journal saying she was going to stay and remind her of who commissioned her http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/cellyjournals.png skype chat after finding her new account recently http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/cellyskype1.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/cellyskype2.png two notes I tried sending her for updates, both read, but no replies http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/cellynote1.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/cellynote2.png I can also get MSN chat logs, though there isnt too much info in them. the only thing is I asked her via MSN for one more sketch which she confirmed. And this is pretty much what any attempt to contact her looks like https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/celly%20skype.png EXPLAIN: I commissioned her around a year ago now, her username on deviantart was CelestetheHedgehog. She was doing a sale on sketches so I thought I'd get a few, if I recall she was having money issues. I contacted her a little bit after her sale, on July 11th by note, and she accepted. I sent her payment a few days later, and she got to work. Not too long after, I got the first sketch from her, and was very pleased with it. She said she'd work on the next ones soon, so I waited. I didn't use MSN much, which was one of the only ways to contact her, but I tried to sign on every once in awhile to see if she had anything new. I never managed to get online at the same time she did, so I dropped her a DA note to see if she would see it and reply. It took her awhile, but she got back to me, saying she had 2 more sketches, and would give them to me that night when she scanned them. I got online and poked her, and she gave me 2 sketches, I was pleased with them. I trusted she was going to finish the others at this point, so I gave her some time. I tried to pop on MSN now and then, to see if she had anything for me. I never saw her online again after that. I had just figured she wasn't around when I was, so I tried to shoot her a DA note. No reply. Eventually, she made a journal saying that anyone who commissioned her should note her to remind her of what they had gotten so she could finish it ASAP. Alright. I noted her again. No reply. Pretty sure she at least read it. I was kinda upset at this point, still popped on MSN now and then to see if she was there, nothing. I eventually found out she had moved accounts, and didn't even tell me, as well as I assume anyone else who commissioned her. Turns out she had become a pony artist, and had her own ask blog on Tumblr, AskPalette-Swap. I was pretty upset, it's probably one of the worst things a commissioner can do is change accounts and not tell people who paid you. Doing that just seems like you're fleeing. After I found out who she was, saw she had been posting quite a bit to her ask blog, I noticed her name pop up on Skype, in which I promptly IMed her, asking about things. She took awhile to reply, but she finally did, and apologised. She said she had the rough sketches, and that she would even draw some pictures, full color, of my pony to make up for the wait. I was pleased to hear this. She said she was sick, but would show me the pics later in the night after she woke up from a nap. Later that night, I got no message. I waited for a week or so, I figure I'd give her time to heal from being sick. But I heard nothing from her, at all. But I noticed one thing, she kept posting to her ask blog just fine. Drawing or streaming every day. I was incredibly upset at this point. I tried so hard to get to her, I even consider her a friend, I know her from a long time ago. And she just treats me like this. It doesn't seem like she cared at all about getting things done, which is weird. She had worked so fast before. I ended up sending her a few messages on skype again, one asking for an update. Sent it at around 5 PM, no reply. Noticed at around 1 AM she posted a picture to her pony blog. IMed her again. No reply, so I sent her a message letting her know how I feel. Took her forever to reply, but she did, saying she was sorry and would work on the pics soon. I eventually got 2 of the last promised pics, but I'm still waiting on one, which apaprently just needs some color. I keep waiting, trying to contact her on skype, and on tumblr, no replies, ever. I'm pretty sure she's ignoring me, since I see her change her skype icon quite a bit. To add to the frustration, she opened up MORE commissions on her pony blog, and even finishes them before mine. She even draws things for 4chan. It's frustrating, this honestly has to be the most frustrating commissioner I have ever had to deal with. I try my hardest to keep in contact, and be polite, but I just can't deal with this anymore. Is it really that hard to just finish the work? She said she just had to color it. And refuses to stay in contact with me or reply to me. So I'm posting this here. It's just upset me so much, especially since she used to be so good at delivering art. I tried to be nice since she's a friend, but I don't want to be treated like this. u_u I wouldn't have been so bothered if I just got an update. I've waited pretty long for commissions but it doesn't bug me as much as long as the person stays in contact so I know they don't just run off. I'll probably get the last pic eventually, but I feel this attitude towards commissioners is uncalled for.
  5. Originally posted on May. 25th, 2013 by aerospiritual WHO: Nathradas WHERE: FurAffinity WHAT: Full color single character piece, no background. WHEN: [08/22/11] Nathradas opens up for regular character commissions. I inquire if I can reserve a slot since I'll have to wait for a bank transfer to clear into my Paypal account. She agrees. [08/30/11] I send payment and commission details to Nathradas. I'm thus listed as paid on her commission status journal. [08/09/12] I'm a patient person; I know that life and related issues come up- she'd posted that she was going through some stuff and that's fine. It happens. But after hearing nothing about my commission for almost a year, I sent a polite note to her on FA inquiring about my commission's status. This note has still gone unread. [08/24/12] I attempt to contact her by e-mail, through the account she provided. No response. [10/21/12] I attempt to get ahold of her on dA. I receive no response. [10/23/12] Two days later, Nathradas posts an image to her FA of the werewolf suit she has been working on for the past two weeks. The bottom of the description reads "(nope, in case you're wondering, I'm not gonna be back, not until January I'd say, I can't say yet tho, I have no clue how long it takes me to get stuff sorted out again)." I'm only including this because it's the only sort of message regarding what's going on in her end- not even a word towards me and my attempts to communicate with her. [01/10/13] I decide to be patient- maybe what's going on is really bad? So I wait until January and post a shout on her userpage to get her attention. This also has the unintentional effect of having another one of her commissioners contact me in the hopes that I've at least heard anything from her. [01/15/13] Nathradas finally me an e-mail and informs me that she needs to talk to her bank about when she can refund me. It's around this time that I started to experience some serious problems with Gmail such as it temporarily locking me out of my account due to alleged security issues and login conflicts, messages simply disappearing, and in the case of my phone; e-mail not showing up entirely, messages not being sent, and/or being sent in triplicate. This has hindered my ability to reply in a reasonable amount of time. [02/16/13] - [03/28/13/] I think this is really my fault here; she gets back to me and I feel as though this was my golden opportunity to get my refund and well. I missed it; I thought I replied much, much sooner and overall, I lost track of time between some pretty busy weeks at work and some family related drama. This is absolutely my bad here. [04/30/13] Sent a follow up e-mail. No response. [05/20/13] Yet another follow up e-mail. No response. PROOF: Commission Journal Paypal Receipt Commission e-mail DeviantArt journal listing my status as paid as well as the commission agreement and terms of service My initial note sent in August of this year Follow-up e-mail Image description posted almost two days after I tried noting her on dA The comment I posted to her userpage. Nathradas' e-mail response and mine. My follow up e-mail. Nathradas' reply, my reply, and another follow up e-mail. My last e-mail, sent five days ago. I'm only missing the note I sent over dA, but there are literally only two notes in my DeviantArt outbox and neither are directed towards the aritst. =/ EXPLAIN: At the end of August, 2011, I commissioned the artist Nathradas for a single character image with no background. With the Paypal fees, it came out to roughly $155 total. After patiently waiting for nearly a year, I attempted to make contact with the artist for any sort of progress regarding my commission to absolutely no avail until January of this year, when I publicly requested that she contact me in regards to this matter. I've received two responses from her in regards to my efforts, all the while watching her actively post things to Tumblr, take on more commissions, and be generally involved with the online community. At this stage, I really, really just want my refund.

She won’t reply to my email, and won’t send me my final piece. I have been polite and have been waiting for my promised art for six months now, which I find completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I want to warn commissioners of this artist and would still like a refund, or my final piece that was promised. (Edit 1-05/01/2013) Today she has posted a journal on DeviantART (http://fav.me/d63qoz5) talking about her medical problems and everything she has been enduring, along with this sentence at the bottom: "if you're still waiting on a commission, as i know a few of you are, i greatly apologize. i'm still locating some files from when my computer was wiped, but i will get back to you, i promise. the art must go on! i cannot offer refunds at this time, but i will offer apology freebies if you're interested in another piece. i feel terrible that some of you have had to wait so long, and i hope you can forgive me and return in the future!" Yet she has not responded to my email, but my note does show as read, She uploaded the sketch that she showed me back in January- http://fav.me/d63qry2 Update: 07/21/2013 The artist has finally uploaded my commission and opened up more slots. I'm also happy to say that the subsequent pieces I've commissioned from her have been an equally delightful experience. The second piece is a prime example of where she applied her experience as an artist to achieve the feeling I wanted for a piece; she took the rather generic pose idea I had and turned it into something much, much more than I had envisoned. 8. This was originally denied to A_B because the artist gave me extra art when I did not ask for it. I feel this should be posted here because Leelee has made me wait for a year w/o any responses to my e-mails or notes when she disappeared on FA, also the fact that when I DID get in contact w/ her I had to ask MORE THAN ONCE for a responce... At this point I STILL do not have my half of a trade and am re-submitting this.. Who: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/LeeLee/ leeleemoreau Where: FA / LJ What: Digital Art trade When: Well over a year ago. http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000c5x8 (My half started on May 30, 2010) Proof: Long ago when I was active on a collection community I was inquired by Leelee about doing a digital trade. Unfortunately that thread where we worked out the details has been LONG lost. We agreed, passed info between us via LJ PM's but those have been purged as well a loooong time ago. Before I realized NOT to delete information until a transaction is complete. I do admit I dropped the ball for deleting those. My half was completed a long time ago, well before I even saw a sketch of hers. I do admit I took a while before I got to it, but I decided to hold off on sending it to her till I saw some form of her half. She posted it http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4027253, and for the longest time that was the last that I heard from her. She seemed to have fallen off the face of the internet for a while, and I can admit I honestly forgot until I randomly posted on the submission. I've also sent e-mails before that were never answered. I also didn't keep up w/ her journals on FA either. My fault again I suppose.. Finally getting some contact from her we have talked it out, apparently her computer was broken and sent off or something, to where she didn't have the file on hand. So she claimed she was going to finish it when it's returned. So I'm waiting on her to color it I guess. She did however draw me a lovely little extra for my wait. (Which I will admit I flipped out a bit because I thought she was trying to give this to me instead of our agreed trade) But I still mark this as beware for her random absence and lack of communication and ignoring when inquiring about said trade. I apologize for the lack of initial communication between us. I just hope the facts given are enough. Update: I have just asked if she would just color the smaller image she posted on FA because I am at this point tired of waiting. She’s cranking out art right now so I don’t see why she can’t color it too. Even if she does color it I stil think this beware is valid enough to be posted. Update2: After she decided to ignore my question on the submission I noticed her faving and comminting elseware. She ignored me again. So I decided to wait till morning and note her. My note to Leelee and her response. http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000fhs0 Thanks for being mature Leelee, once again appreciated.. Still no straight answer if she's gonna do it or not. Update3: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6547634/ I still don't understand why she keeps mentioning the 'make up' art as if I should have accsepted that instead of what we agreed on. Or maybe I'm just missunderstanding her or something... IDK Update4: Talked it out w/ Leelee and she thuroughly aplogized. The 'make up' art was also a missunderstanding on my part. I guess I made it unclear about that being a replacement. Everything is cool and there is no hard feelings. Anyway this is resolved.
  9. The client I would like to report is known as Piscurio/Pisquared. They are a former client and patron who saw fit to terminate their commission halfway through, as well as all communications while I was away for college, etc. The reason I am posting this beware is because now, after over a year, they have returned and are trying to use threats and blackmail to receive a refund when it is explicitly stated in my Terms of Service that I do not give refunds once the work has begun. Unless no work had been done yet/the commission is still waiting in 'queue', or I am unable to continue due to being hospitalized for longer than a period of 1 week, the refunds will not be given. Two separate clients have received refunds from me in the past following this policy. Once who was still in queue and needed to back out, as well as one in 2019 where I could not work as I had been fully hospitalized. Prior to this issue, the user received artwork from me in the form of patreon rewards. They claimed their tier’s ability to have a custom sketch done of their character, which was completed 09/17/20. They were very happy with the result and voiced no issues and we had a fairly strong relationship at the time. Prior to commissioning me fully, the user attempted to ‘haggle’ with my prices. I did not see this as a red flag initially and ignored it at the time in favor of giving them the benefit of the doubt and explaining to them why my prices were the way they were, etc. They then disappeared for some months, only to come back and go through with commissioning me at a lower price. The Issue The commission inquiry was made on the 09/04/20 with payment given on the 10/30/20. No set deadline was discussed with the client and they were aware that I am a college student with health issues and therefore take time working, shown by their references and thus awareness of this later on. Regardless of however long the commission would take to complete, it was clear I would honor it. Please review Image 0. As time went on, they began to grow impatient despite knowing that they were listed under ‘queued’ and would be until the commissions I was currently working on at the time were finished. Complaints were made and I moved them to ‘In Progress’ on November 8th, 2020 to put them at ease. An unwatermarked WIP image with the linework nearly completed was then sent to the client around November 27th, wherein small errors in the design were pointed out. These errors were made due to the client’s reference being largely unclear, but it was promised that the mistakes would be fixed and were fixed at a later date. The WIP was posted again on my discord server, where they were a member. The unwatermarked sketch, however, was deleted from direct messages when I realized the client was posting it online into their own gallery without permission. The issue was later resolved over a stream on Picarto, where I whispered them privately. The user was an active viewer of my streams at the time and would often visit to watch for several hours on end, the content of which included their own commission on many occasions. On December 11th, I marked on Trello that the sketching phase had been completed, as I had fully moved on to lineart by then. I was struggling a lot medically around this time, hence the delay in Trello being updated compared to discord. Despite having expedited their commission (moving it ahead of two others), starting and completing roughly half the work, the client asked for a full refund on January 31st of 2021. In response, I explained to them their options, reminded them of my terms, and once again informed them that refunds were not guaranteed at this stage. The commission was already past the sketch phase at this point, despite the client’s words, as can be seen in the earlier image of their character. While it was not complete at the time, it was well underway and at roughly 98%. I attempted to put their concerns at ease by informing them of other customers who had and were waiting just as long for their commissions, all of which were roughly the same level of complexity and cost as this client’s. It was also explained that I would, regardless of how long it took, complete the commission. Given that this was at the height of the pandemic, and evacuation orders were being given to neighboring colleges in response, I was often unable to respond to long periods of time. However, clients remained informed of this and whenever an update was available on my condition, their commissions, and the like. In the case of this client, I offered to DM them directly when my next stream would start so that they would be informed and could watch their commissions being worked on. The client refused and stated that they had alerts on. The third WIP image was sent to them shortly after. Some weeks later, they left my server, blocked me via discord, and discontinued communication with me. I attempted to reach them and sent a friend request via discord to try and reestablish communication, but they never accepted it. Confused, I continued to work on the commission to near completion. With the sketching phase marked as complete, I did not mark off the next stage (lining) until much later. The reason for this being I was still trying to reestablish contact with my client and had questions that prevented me from finishing this step fully. Despite this, I continued on with the background while I waited. *The dates in this image as of Dec 11th will be further explained below. However, my time working was not without issues. I was forced to not work due to my laptop dying in March. Following this, my college issued an evacuation order in response to a breakout of COVID-19 on campus. Regardless, I continued to inform my clients and sever members of these problems via discord announcements and so on. Unfortunately, the border of my country closed for several months mere hours before I could return home and I was forced to return to the US. They did not open until May 27th, which was around the same time I was allowed to arrive home being on the first flight back. From there, I updated my website, my Trello, and continued working. On June 1st, I resolved that I had waited long enough for my client to reappear and went ahead with marking off both Lining and Color as I had now completed those two steps. This was done tentatively with steps taken to allow corrections should they return. On August 28th, 2021, Pisqcurio sent me a message and demanded I terminate their commission for lack of communication – despite them having blocked me – and alluded that I should give them a refund while fully aware that I would not be due to the commission having been almost completed at the time of termination. Due to rising medical issues and having just returned to college, I was not active on FA and for that I take full responsibility. On January 11th, 2022, the client reapproached me with threats of defamation and claimed I manipulated and gaslighted them when I did not. Their message was accompanied by another over discord that also included more threats, insults, and the promise to continue to harass me. Again, they asked for a refund despite knowing my terms of service and all the work that had been done. They also claimed to have sent an email to me regarding the issue, but I, to this day, have never received an email from them. As can be seen by the above image, I am still, to this day, blocked by them and unable to communicate via discord. We share a server, as can be seen by the image following it, which shows that it is a block and not just us not being in the same community. Upon checking FA, I saw that I was no longer blocked and responded with a message to explain my side of the story while also trying to reason with them. The response I received showed their refusal to cooperate or come to an understanding. I responded with a reminder of what happened, once again, and finally blocked them. I am not proud of this message, but I am including it as well. Edit 01.19.22 Another important thing to note is that the client claims to have emailed me on January 11th, 2022. I checked both my emails and found this; Absolutely nothing. Hence, either they sent their email to the wrong person or fabricated it. I do not have any emails dated on the 11th of January, 2022 from this client and have never received one since from 09/04/2020 to 01/19/2022. What I do have are a total of four twitter notifications and a Buzzly activation email. I checked my gmail as a courtesy, but only the one on outlook is provided or associated with the public and used as my work email.
  10. I commissioned Fen for a Vtuber bust model with Live2D rigging and 4 "emotions." I was originally quoted for $350, but I tipped enough to make it $500 because they'd just raised their prices after my initial sketch and I was impressed. After I paid the $100 deposit, it took more than the one week promised to get a sketch back, but progress was coming along in a relatively timely manner. Fen was initially good at getting back to me on Discord with WIPs and letting me know they were working on my model. The turnaround from sketch to full-color was surprisingly quick, but I was extremely happy with how everything was looking. My commission was essentially ready for Live2D rigging by the end of May, so I figured the whole thing could be ready at some point later that summer. Unfortunately, that quick pace did not carry over to the rest of the commission. After that May 31st WIP, I didn't get a single update for nearly 5 months. I knew they took commissions on other types of art and streaming assets, so I didn't mind at first. Eventually though, things just didn't seem right. I'd check their Trello regularly to see if gears were turning in the commission queue, and while there'd be new sketched here and there, the Finished Rigs list went stagnant through this whole time. The next update I got from Fen was at the end of October. I was afraid to ask for updates through Discord because their status was always Do Not Disturb, but I decided it had been more than long enough and I sucked it up. About a week and a half after I sent my message, I got WIPs back of the expressions I asked for. I actually hadn't noticed that the expression designs hadn't been done yet, but I was still pleased to get an update and know that my commission was still on the table. After that, it was back to radio silence for a month. By then, it had been 6 months since I paid off my invoice and I was still in "Ready to Rig" status. Especially being a Twitch streamer trying to plan overlays et al to fit with the model, I was growing even more impatient. I consulted a few friends on the matter and decided to ask for an estimated completion date. I was told December 15th at the latest. That didn't happen. In the meantime, it was apparent that Fen was doing Live2D work, just on other "quick completion" commissions that seemed to pop up out of nowhere. What added insult to injury was that they were promoting these simpler rigs with very little wait while I was still actively waiting for what I paid off in June. Then, when December 15th rolled around, they tweeted out that they were finishing a rig in just 24 hours. The next day, they were showing off a brand new rig for their partner. I lost my patience and asked to just take their PSD/CSP file so I could get someone else to rig it. No response. What happened after was a sticky situation. On December 21st, Fen's cat suddenly got sick and they had to take him to the emergency vet. The bill was steep and they said they couldn't afford it, so they needed donations and emergency commissions to cover the necessary treatments. Between this and the holidays, I knew I was in no position to ask for a refund, full or partial, even if I was still out $500 with nothing to show on my end. I again offered to just take my file as it was and go, eating my extra cost, but still no reply. Around New Year's, while all this was going on, Fen suddenly announced on Twitter that they'd finished two standard rigs that had been in the queue behind me. If it wasn't already, the writing was on the wall that I was being ghosted, so I gave them an ultimatum. As much as I didn't want to be the villain, if I couldn't get at least a basic reply, I threatened to file a chargeback. Within hours that same day, I finally got the CSP file with a lengthy apology. I thanked them and that was the last contact we've had with each other. I've since been in contact with a different artist who does Live2D rigging and I commissioned them to finish the model. They've been able to work the the Clip Studio file just fine. While I'm still happy with the design Fen was able to make for me, but between the uneven progress, lack of communication, confusing management of the commission queue, broken promises, and uncertainty that I'd get what I paid for, I certainly won't be working with them again and I can't recommend them to another streamer in good faith.
  11. - Dec 5th: I was approached by Lenny about a secondlife texture commission, All went well and the commission was accepted, parts were discussed and I sent off an invoice. - Dec 6th: Invoice was paid. I also provided an estimated deadline of Dec 15th - Dec 13th: I found parts that I thought would suit the character better and provided links for the commissioner to view in order to make a decision, The commissioner decided on the new part I suggested and I started work on it swiftly afterwards. Lenny started to make me uncomfortable asking about me texturing NSFW parts that my TOS states I do not work on. This can be seen within the full SL convo screenshot. During this time Lenny also stated he was going to “RIP” some textures from an object, On secondlife this term is used when a user illegally steals a texture using a third party program, I do NOT condone this in any way shape or form, This made me very uncomfortable as I was now left wondering if I could trust Lenny not to RIP and resell my own work once completed.Shortly after we hit some bumps in terms of things not being correct on the textures, I swiftly made fixes to his request however he started to ask for changes that were not shown on his reference sheet so it became hard for me to follow as I wasn’t made aware of this during the commission order. I suggested in the future Lenny should perhaps consider getting an updated reference sheet or create one with one of the MANY free art bases in the Furry community. Sometime later Lenny asked me if my textures would be fullperm, This isn’t something usually provided with Secondlife texture commissions and this made me rather uncomfortable due to him previously talking about having to "rip" a texture. In light of all the prior issues and the uncomfortable feelings in the air I decided that it would simply be for the best for me to provide a full refund immediately. Lenny responded with aggression stating I had refused their commission because of their own personal IRL issues, this wasn’t the case at all. I simply refunded due to being VERY uncomfortable working with Lenny. I later found out that the texture he was going to “rip” came as free to use. Regarldess it was still an NSFW body part that I had expressed I do not work with. My choice to refund was still solid and I did not wish to continue working with Lenny any longer, Lenny continued to push for me to work on his commission and to cancel the refund this lead to me having to repeatedly express that I would not work on this commission any longer, Eventually he gave up. - Dec 20th: Lenny apologized, I accepted this apology. Lenny expressed that the refund was still pending which was due to the way paypal refunds as the funds came out of my account minutes after I provided the refund, I sent Lenny links to Paypal’s FAQ so he understood why it was still pending. We then began talking about him re-commissioning me for his SL textures which I accepted as it was coming up to Christmas and I didn’t want there to be any bad blood and I assumed the prior happenings were just a one time thing and wouldn’t happen again. We decided to use a Free to use base in order to map out their markings better in order for a swifter completion of the second life mod, This ref wasn’t anything spectacular it was simply made for me to be able to visualize exactly where and what shape the markings needed to be, Eventually Lenny decided on one of the marking layouts I had created and I went ahead with sending out a second invoice. Lenny proceeded to make some really awkward joke about just getting out of jail and being -2912 in his bank? Which was very odd but I just laughed it off as he stated it was a joke and he paid the invoice shortly after. I sent out some wips of the body and immediately hit some bumps, He expressed things needed to be fixed, I swiftly worked on those and provided more wips, which again Lenny expressed they were wrong and I fixed them. At this point I was growing frustrated as we had JUST made a make shift reference for me to follow that Lenny himself had approved before I started working. Regardless of the issues I continued working on the second life mod and making constant fixes, I just wanted to complete the commission to the best of my ability in order to move on from this experience. I finished the secondlife mod on the 20th, The same day that Lenny had commissioned me, He said that everything looked good, I sent over his SL mod and he seemed pleased with his purchase. Shortly after he asked for some color codes which I provided. An hour later Lenny messaged me again, Asking for a screenshot of my Fullperm texture, Something that I had already expressed that I do NOT provide. His reasoning is he wanted someone else to work on something and they needed it, I declined and stated they’d simply need his color code in order for those parts to match. - Dec 23rd&25th: Lenny asked about textures for three different parts, Nothing came of this and no commissions were taken in the result of these questions. Conversation screencaps. Warning! The images are large. https://imgur.com/a/NTWBgRs - Jan 17th: Lenny messaged me again asking for fixes to his mod, I declined as I do not offer free edits after the commission has been confirmed for over 3 days, It had been nearly 4weeks since he had accepted his finished commission. Lenny replied with an emoji and then blocked me. I tired to reply to his emoji BUT I couldn’t as I had been blocked. - March 7th: Lenny contacted me on Secondlife asking for help with his neck and also asked about an additional commission. I expressed that I would be more than happy to help with his issues to the best of my ability however I was not interested in doing business with him beyond that. I was met with an extremely unexpected outburst of rage, regardless of how I had just been treated I kept a cool, professional front and tried to reply however I had been blocked again. I checked FA some time after to see I had a note from Lenny, This note can be seen below. Shortly after I noticed he had posted a journal that I can only assume is about me.
  12. WHO: Smileeeeeee WHERE: FurAffinity WHAT: Digital Artwork - YCH (NSFW) WHEN: 12/19/2018 - Present EXPLAIN: So, I commissioned a NSFW YCH piece from this artist in mid December. The turn around time was great, don't get me wrong. However, upon receiving the piece, there were a number of issues that needed correction with markings. Additionally, she had saved my reference on top of the YCH image in the corner so I couldn't use it (see image for better explanation). This is a YCH on a premade base, so I assume corrections can be fairly easy regarding layering. The issues were incorrect colored paw pads, incorrect markings of her groin, and my reference having been saved over the image itself. There is a language barrier between us, so I wrote back and explained what needed to be corrected/removed and thanked her for the piece overall. I didn't intend it to be rude. She responded stating that she'll fix it when possible. But she proceeded to say that my reference was "very poor quality" and stated that portions were not there at all when they were as well as tell me that colors were on it that were not. I even went back and checked the color dropper of my own character to ensure this was correct. The only thing I can imagine that caused these issues is her using my reference to color drop at a very low scale that caused it to be pixelated. My reference itself is a very large scale, so why she shrank it so much is beyond me. She also did not use the Color Swatch on the side. I have never had an artist say my reference was poor. I've never had issues like this prior. I showed my reference to other artists and asked some I have used in the past and they stated they loved the quality and it was easy to use. Summary: While the turn around time was awesome, the image had a lot of issues and seemed to be minor mistakes from lack of observation or care. When asked to make corrections, it was suddenly turned on me and unnecessarily rude towards my artwork/character. I do not feel welcome to commission her again and I don't feel confident that I'll get what I actually paid for. Communication could have been a lot more professional. 14. Who: Mo Twitter: MugsTheAlien, MugsTheGoblin, MoTheGoblin FA: PigeonsAndPeaches Instagram: shrimpgoblin What: Sticker Pack, $125 Where: Twitter Why: Misleading queue presentation, trying to break own TOS, lying about/omitting parts of our interaction in a Commissioner Beware Short version: I commissioned under the impression Mo had a reasonable-length queue. I then watched them do multiple adopts and personal art without any explanation or reason for the delay on my work (or anyone else’s). When I asked for a refund (in accordance with TOS) every attempt was made to discourage me from it until I pressed enough to get them to agree. I later gave in and agreed to continue the commission against my better judgment, accepting stickers in place of the original in hopes that it would help clear the air on the original concept. My commission was subsequently rushed and I was made to feel the villain for asking for updates and that it be finished within the buyer protection window. They left the drop shadow and stroke off the stickers and refused to let me add them myself. When I expressed I felt this was unfair, they did a beware on me with misleading and outright wrong information. Long version: In early June, my partner Ri bought an adopt (Hardy) from Mo as a surprise gift for me. I got in contact with Mo to get the name and details added to the ref sheet. In the course of our conversation, they convinced me to get a commission from them of the character. I’ll be honest and say I felt a little guilty because I dropped the whole “I might commission” thing and then kinda felt like I should. That’s on me. I really shouldn’t have commissioned under pressure. So, I went ahead and commissioned. The commission was promised at around 2 months. Which I wasn’t in a rush, but I figured with the small amount of commissions on their queue, it wouldn’t be too long. Mo did not mention to me that their queue was WAY out of date, leading me to believe there wasn’t much ahead of me, especially since they added my project almost immediately. In early September, Mo posted that their Trello was not up to date. I waited a couple weeks, thinking there were just a few things missing or something that had been taken after my commission. Then I checked in with them on Sep 17th. They verified that it still wasn’t up to date. I waited quietly, hoping this would be updated soon, but I was starting to get pretty stressed and worried. And resentful. In the time I was waiting to hear or see anything, Mo posted plenty of adopts and personal artwork, and advertised constantly for more commissions. I have nothing against artists having off days, doing personal work, etc., but there’s something very shady when you’re constantly open for commissions, your queue is out of date, and nothing you post seems to be related to completing or even working on commissions. I was seriously considering asking for a refund when I received a message from Mo’s manager on Oct 7, asking what I had commissioned, when, etc. Tabby (the manager) was updating Mo’s queue and rearranging things. I started to think that maybe there was some chance I’d get my stuff. After the queue settled out, I noticed there were a lot of people placed ahead of me, and certain people had been marked as a priority, but I was not one of them despite being one of the oldest comms in the queue. After waiting another several days, I reached out to see if I could arrange a refund (and yes, understanding that it wouldn’t be immediate and that it would not be in full). It was immediately demanded that I explain why. I explained that I felt I had been misled regarding the amount of stuff in front of me and that I was uncomfortable with all the stuff getting done ahead of me and the personal art. I was told why the delay was justified, including that they’d taken comms for “seasonal” things, were doing “minor” edits, the queue already was out of date, etc. I was told they weren’t “comfortable” giving me a refund since they’d started (note again I didn’t say I wanted a 100% refund, nor did I ever; I fully expected to only get a partial refund but I just wanted to be done with it all). I will admit that I shouldn’t have accused them of slamming out the sketch without proof, but it did feel very weird that the sketch appeared about 30 minutes after I asked about a refund. Please keep in mind their comment about how their sketches are “always rough” for later. Once the pose was explained to me, I could kind of make out what they were drawing, but honestly I still couldn’t really see many details. They also made a comment about “finding it odd” that I was asking for a refund after they started the sketch. I’m not sure what they were implying, since I hadn’t seen the sketch? And I never said I wanted a refund on work already done? I also found myself having to justify not asking for a refund when Tabby initially contacted me, but nothing was said about that being an option or a “last chance” to ask for. I was also threatened with being blacklisted for canceling, despite that being stated nowhere in their TOS. The flurry of texts after, I honestly didn’t know how to respond. I was trying to handle things as gently as I could. I get that refunds are stressful (been there), so I didn’t have any intention of demanding anything. I was handed off to Tabby, which was fine. She added me to the refund list. I was told there would be a delay, and at that point I didn’t know what else to say. I mentioned my buyer protection being a ways out, and that I would be comfortable waiting that long. In response to my “ok,” it was pressed that it would be faster to get art done, which again felt like being pressured to not do a refund. (I honestly wasn’t in a hurry, but at that point there were like, 6 weeks left?) After a few days, I started to feel bad for asking the refund. I really do love Mo’s artwork, and I thought maybe a compromise could be reached. I reached out to Tabby about possibly getting stickers instead of the original request. I figured I’d get 5-6 for what I’d paid. I was offered 15 instead, which I thought was pretty cool. While I was waiting, I noticed a friend of mine had gotten a (non-holiday) full body done, and I couldn’t recall having seen their stuff in queue earlier. Fortunately, I was provided with the sketches a few days later, and I finally started to feel like things were going well and I could get my art and have something to enjoy. I gave feedback on the expression/pose on one sketch which was fixed. I was a little surprised, though, when the next WIP I got was full color, since their TOS states there’s a line phase to refine pose etc. Still, the only gripe I had was that since he was supposed to be “puppy eyes begging” in the sticker, I wanted his eyes shinier. I specified that I wanted it only on that particular expression, but Mo added eye shine to the rest of the stickers later on, too, which I thought was nice. This was the next WIP I got Mugs has characterized my requests for edits as “rude” and excessive. I will let the reader be the judge. You’ll see the next interaction I had above as well. Mo had posted that they were going to be on hiatus to “deal with some family stuff,” but that clients could reach out if they had concerns. Which I did when I saw it about two days later. I was made to feel as though I had no right to ask about this, as an artist deserves a vacation, etc. etc. Again, didn’t really know what I could say or do, so I just stayed quiet until I got more updates. I was, at that point, pretty annoyed with how I’d been treated, but I wasn’t in the mood to be confrontational as I figured it would just result in my stuff being rushed. Updates continued, again without any WIPs between sketch and color phases. I didn’t want to ask for major changes since I wasn’t getting a chance to give feedback on lines, but I didn’t feel like most of what I was asking for was out of line. Lettering should’ve been a matter of just drawing over again, and they were nearly invisible on my phone (showed up ok on my laptop, though). Over the weekend, I saw that the last three had been uploaded. With this one, I felt like the fingers on the top left were really rushed (and honestly the whole sticker)? And looked odd. I asked for a fix on that. I also asked if there would be drop shadows like in this example that Mo has been posting as an ad on twitter for $5/each YCH sticker packs. Telegram recommends a stroke and drop shadow on all stickers, which is especially important since you can put complex pics in the background, so it didn't seem unreasonable to expect that those would be added in the finishing phase. Asked if the fingers on one sticker of three could be corrected (the top left). They were very sausage-y and looked nothing like the sketch (though the sketch is very rough). After being told no, no shadows, I was told that if I was happy with it, they could send the link. I asked if it would be possible to get them without a background so I could add simple outlines, drop shadows. I’m told I’m “rude” for wanting that, and “oops, I forgot to include the packet link!” Which tells me the stickers had already been turned into a pack and I was expected to accept them before I was even asked what I thought. I’m also told “I understand you may want things to your liking”. Well, yes, yes I do want things to my liking, since I paid $125 for this custom commission. I’m told I’ll be blacklisted once “the conversation is over,” and it’s made pretty clear that there is no intention to further update my commission. I write back with my reply. After which, Mo makes a “beware on commissioner” making several false and misleading claims, including that I approved the sketch for the original full body commission (addressed in next section). I have been blocked by the artist, and no attempt to make these stickers usable or correct the fingers on the one sloppily done one seems likely. Mo’s “Beware on Commissioner” and Counterpoints: Mo made a beware on me, which was misleading and inaccurate, and even contained an outright lie. They also posted excerpts of our communications out of chronological order, making it even more confusing. Please refer to the Long Version section to review transcripts for proof of any claims I make. They claim I approved the sketch before requesting a refund. If you look at the transcript above, you can see I never even saw the sketch until after I asked the refund, and I certainly never approved anything. They themselves state they completed the sticker and got approval without running the lines past me. Blatantly outside of their TOS. They claim I asked for changes after the stickers were completed, but I had no choice since they went from very rough sketches to completed with no input from me in between. Remember they said to me that their sketches were “very rough”? How was I supposed to know from a Very Rough sketch how it would look completed? I asked for fairly minor changes, and I would have requested them at the line phase had I been given the chance (if the lines were the applicable phase). At no point did they inform me that these were difficult changes. They claim I was impolite in my messages. The last two, yeah, I got "impolite". But I feel that most of my feedback was very polite, and at no point did Tabby say I was rude. Here they state their hiatus was due to an injury, contradicting their earlier claim that it was a family issue. They state they’re not comfortable with me wanting things done “while can force a refund.” But why should I be comfortable commissioning if I have no protection? They have $125 of my money. I have… what, a hope that I’ll eventually get my art??? I asked for a drop shadow before the pack was sent to me. I was direct with my request, but I wouldn’t call it a demand. I was not told there would be no drop shadow, and the only example of Mo’s stickers contained one, so I’d say, yet again, I was misled. They stated their beware “is not an attack” but then send it out to their followers with inaccurate information mischaracterizing the entire transaction to 10x the followers I have. Not sure what else I’d call that. I also never used the phrase “force a refund.” It’s odd that my hope to have my artwork completed in 180 days while I still had some reassurance that I had a way to get either the commission or my money back is something that made a professional artist uncomfortable. I didn’t ask for “one edit per sticker.” I maybe asked for four total? There was an entire sheet that I loved and thought was great and didn't ask for a single change on, and others I was willing to accept as-is even though they weren’t quite what I wanted. Regarding the following screenshot, their claim that that is how they responded when I asked about the break is a lie as well. That was a response to me asking about the drop shadows and edit for the fingers. While I absolutely could extract the stickers back to PNG and edit them from Telegram, I’m not going to. Frankly this whole hideous deal has left me with a very expensive pile of stickers that I really don’t know to do with. I don’t enjoy looking at them, even though intellectually I know most of them are really cute. I don’t want to use them. Basically, Mo technically fulfilled the letter of my commission with enough ambiguity to say they did what was promised. The commissioner beware was deleted when I posted a link to my version of events. However, Mo made no effort to correct the misinformation in the beware and has claimed I have been directly harassing them and continuing to cause them problems, and I am therefore still getting their followers turning up on my twitter to harass me. TOS Issues/Other Info and Proof: Proof they say that refunds are available at any time with no stipulation requiring justification. (And remember, at no point did I demand a full refund.) Proof they claim there’s a line phase of approval. Which I never got. Trello card showing the lack of a line phase: UPDATE 11/27/2019 In response to Mo’s beware, I posted a link to this beware and asked that people consider my side of the story, since there was inaccurate information in the thread. Mo subsequently deleted the first tweet in the thread, more or less hiding my reply as well. However, the rest of the tweets were still on their timeline, so I used my alternate account to post links to each of the tweets with incorrect information in hopes that I wouldn’t be silenced again. Mo subsequently deleted all but that last couple of tweets. After this, Mo made several posts claiming that it was “harassment” and that my partner (who had engaged them to refute misinformation as well) was also harassing them. At this point, I was understandably annoyed and furious over the whole thing and how I was being portrayed, so I posted the following. In response to this vaguetweet, Mo decided to release the stickers for public use and refund me (minus about $5 because they sent it as Goods and Services instead of refunding the original transaction). While I suppose I’m glad for the refund, I am of course concerned that they sent it G&S as a separate transaction, meaning they could chargeback at any point in the next 180 days. In consideration of the fact that the refund can still be revoked, and the possibility that other folks may have similar experiences, I will not be removing this beware. Mo continues to make claims of harassment and spread disinformation, and has failed to appropriately address any of the concerns raised in this beware publicly or privately.
  15. Outline: -Original Agreement: Besped (aka Datfox on Discord) came to me on Discord after talking to me on FurAffinity in notes, where we exchanged our Discord names/codes. We talked in short detail about doing an animation for me containing just a single character in color of approximately four to six seconds. The total price of this animation quoted to me by Besped was $250, which we agreed to split into two separate invoices for $125 each. The first invoice was paid on December 23rd, 2019 while the second one was paid on March 13th, 2020. After March 24th, all communication form Besped/Datfox ceased for no discernible reason. They have not blocked me or unfriend and remain unresponsive after expressing my anger in no communication. - Proof of payment: Total is for $250, invoices were split into two for $125 each, paid in December 2019 and March 2020. See screenshots. - Any discussion with Besped/Datfox has solely been on discord as they seem to have gone quiet on FurAffinity, except for contacting certain users by notes. I have gotten all of my correspondence with Besped/Datfox in the screenshots provided. Any sort of contact information for any other location online does not appear to exist so finding alternative methods to contact the artist has been difficult. Most recent contact, unread.
  16. WHO: Beowulf/crunchbuttsteak http://www.furaffinity.net/user/beowulf/http://www.furaffinity.net/user/crunchbuttsteak/ WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/beowulf/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/crunchbuttsteak/ WHAT: My husband commissioned Beowulf two years ago, at AC. I was with him at the time of the transaction, I was there when he gave Beowulf his sketchbook, I've got the original piece right here beside me as I'm typing this. I'm making this post because my husband cannot (he's navy, I handle most everything right now). Anyways. Yesturday, 4/9, I was browsing my FA, and I saw another piece posted by Beowulf. This piece WAS my husband's piece that he had commissioned. Except it was recolored and some parts changed. But very obviously belonged to my husband. Now, I know for a fact that neither of us gave permission for the piece to be reused, and even if it had been asked, we would have said no. I fully understand the recycling of rejected sketches, but this was a fully finished traditional piece that had been digitally colored. I immediately sent Beowulf a note about this, and left a discreet comment on the piece, telling him to check his notes. At no point did I publicly call him out for having done this. He read the note, and the piece dissapeared within moments off of FA. However. No return note was sent. No apology, no explanation for the re-use of a commission piece for another commission, nothing. This leaves me with a bad feeling. I forgive easily. All I wanted was a note of apology. I understand that mistakes happen. I understand that our commission was several years ago, and maybe Beowulf had the original file saved and forgot that it belonged to someone. I don't know. All I know is that he deleted the piece, and said nothing more to me about this. So i'm posting this as a warning. Don't get me wrong. He was awesome to work with, does beautiful work, and was a good guy. If this event hadn't happened, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him as someone to commission. But this just leaves me sour on him as an artist. WHEN: Original commission was at AC 2010. New piece was posted 4/9/2012 PROOF: The original, posted on my husband's FA: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3027941/ Screenshot of the newly posted piece's description: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/tresh/Beowulfscreenshot2.png Saved image: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/tresh/1334013834beowulf_usarmy-commish.jpg EXPLAIN: We loved the art that Beowulf did. He has a wonderful style, I love his work, I even wanted to commission him again. But this makes me rethink that. While there was nothing signed or the like saying that he can't reuse the piece, it's still in very bad taste I would think to do this? So I'm posting the artist-beware to let people know about this, so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Reusing a commission for another person's commission is just not right...or so I think. Edited to add: I spoke to my husband about this, and he told me that in his emails there would be a copy of hte commission from when he paid Beowulf to digitally color it. THis was again, several years ago. So looking at the digital color, dated from early 2011, there's actually even LESS changed than I previously thought. Colored image from early 2011: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v172/tresh/Raziel-web-rez-coloration.jpg Edit 2: Overlay of the two pieces: http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/3977/beowulfoverlay.jpg
  17. I broke off price negotiations with Ryunwoofie one time because she wanted to charge me for not having color refs of a black and white zebra character. Now I'm glad it didn't go through.
  18. This was a Character for Art trade: The Agreement was that they would get the character I was selling for 70$ in exchange for a art piece as they were a artist and short on change. I had posted a character for sell for 70$, it had a slew of art for it! Fen contacted me requesting that they didn't have 70$ but REALLY wanted the character and would be willing to deliver a flat color in exchange for it, they also said they can send me 20$ within a week on top of the flat com. After seeing no other offers, I decided to roll with Fen's offer, and took the flat color, we exchanged details, I sent her the file of the character, and I moved on and allowed her to start working, she claimed to have a WIP for me within a few days. After a week I had heard nothing so I reached out, and they delivered a sketch! I was happy with the sketch and moved on. I waited about 2 weeks after that and reached out again asking if there was any updates, they responded with essentially the same WIP as before, but with the head lined. That's okay! I'm just happy to get a response at this point, I can wait for the art! I waited for about 2 weeks again, and contacted them looking for a update, but alas no response. At this point it is important to mention I belong to their discord server, and while I sent my message I noticed that they were VERY active in their discord, so I was a bit confused. I shrugged it off and waited about a week, and then tried knocking again to see if I could get something, this time pointing out that I've seen them posting, but not sure if they just forgot to respond, we're all human after all. Still no response, and like last time, very active in their discord, actually even streaming free art streams! I wanted to make a comment to them in the discord to see if they would respond to me then, but I really didn't want to put them on the spot in front of their patrons like that. finally on Friday I contacted them pointing out that if they didn't want to do the commission anymore, we can work something out, and find a solution, but they needed to respond to me to do that. alas no response, with the same situation as before, very active in their discord. So I decided maybe discord was broken and contacted them on Twitter DM's nothing. At this point I got annoyed at them, and was beginning to become agitated, I sent my final signal out in hopes maybe that would get to them, but still nothing. [This is Fen accepting the offer via discord after I asked if it was still available. After this I sent files, and exchanged what I wanted in the art piece] [This was the last message I sent almost a month ago, asking for ANY sort of response, otherwise I would try finding a home for the character as they have not upheld their end of the deal] At this point I'm not sure what to do with the character given they bought art for it already, and I doubt anyone would want to buy it with this drama attached, but I just want to make sure no one else falls victim to this!
  19. I'll admit to sometimes color picking from a ref instead of the swatch, but usually I confirm the color with the swatch before using it. Sometimes colors aren't clearly labeled and just different enough and I always ask. Maybe the artist didn't know how to and decided to guess? As for the ref being saved in the image. That just seems like a sloppy oversight. Although, it's not the only one done that way. Hm.
  20. October 25 2018, 17:48 Artist Beware: Baasil I shall begin this with a little warning. I was uninformed about the actual stipulations of Paypal; I have always thought it was only 60 days, and not 120 days for buyer protection. With that said I was a bit assertive to this commissioned person. I thought my time was running out and dry, but this could have easily been resolved with some reassurance by this commissioned person. WHO: Baasil [http://www.furaffinity.net/user/baasil/] SpicyBaasil [https://picarto.tv/SpicyBaasil] WHERE: Stream: SpicyBaasil [https://picarto.tv/SpicyBaasil] WHAT: This was meant to be a quick icon and a full color commission that stretched at most a 2 or 3 week period as stated by the artist. WHEN: August 31, 2018 - October 21, 2018 EXPLAIN: The situation all started on August 31st 2018… I commissioned this artist in the early hours of 6am, but their stream ran short and they had been up all night for that day. They said they would complete my commission the following day. I am always forgiving and being an artist myself was totally fine with waiting until tomorrow. Tomorrow came, and nothing had been done. I did not expect the requested art of a full color commission the following day, but I did expect some progress on this icon we had discussed in stream before. Shortly after there was a Hurricane that struck their area, no damage other than power outages on Sept 9th … I went along with what they said to me in that journal, that they will be working offline for their owed art due to those who had worked with them prior to the storm. Being patient I waited until days passed. Sept 24th came I asked for n update since their queue listing isn’t quite listed anywhere I can find. My sketch was promised the week of Sept 24th September 24th was a Monday and the 29th would be the end of this week After these following messages my patience became stale and I had to be a bit more blunt as I have seen little to no action by this artist to do their duties. I was giving the benefit of the doubt to them and letting them tackle on a new icon since it’s been rough times. Again another false promise “tomorrow” my patience is already running thin by now. As I do not want this artist do to any more work than is required I wanted to make it clear that this is replacing what we had previously discussed. Now comes the true fallout and where I feel insulted by this artist. [for some reason it has “RE” even tho this is initial messages] This is the point where I thought I am running out of buyers protection and being a bit more blunt with this artist. Tomorrow promises yet again still being forgiving to this artist as I know how times can be tough. Confirming and thanking on the new family member, at this point it has been a total of 46 days from initial commissioning. The icon was meant to be done the DAY after I commissioned them, and the art was to be done in 14/21 days from commission date. Things turn sour~ It was at this point that I thought my buyers protection was running out and thought 60 days was the final cut off for my protection. This could have been so easily retorted by the artist letting me know I had 180 days but they decided to go a different route. Their claim is that they have had my work done, but I do not believe them. I have no means of guaranteeing or not that they had my work done. I also felt sympathy for them because I do commission work too but of a different kind. This was the most insulting thing of our interaction. As a client it is not my duty to keep notes on what you as a professional artist are owing me. This is a blurry pic just where we had a verbal agreement of work we had done. It’s the best I could do I am sorry. Their vod was low resolution. They got the idea of me being under the YCH through my personal Furaffinity Page. As I thought my time was running out I had to pressure them. Things got hostile. They got really mad at me, granted I was being very direct and blunt. I was just tired of hearing the three or four confirmations of getting my art done “this week” // “tomorrow” that I was basically done with this whole situation and wanted my money back. This is where things turned sour and I lost trust in this person. The fact that they are threatening defaming my name even tho my only fault was being assertive made me wary of their intentions. “Rest of refund, you’re even making money on it because I can’t be bothered to figure out fees. If you still action, I will be pursuing theft by deception charges and reporting to FA. :D” After issuing a 30 USD charge when I specifically told them the amount. After this moment I just refunded both their initial 10 usd and their 30 dollars sent. The saga ends there. This was the worst interaction I’ve ever had with an artist in my time on Furafinity. Could have simply been reassured by some condolences to me. Letting me know I had extra time vs when i assert myself threatening defamation. I am not sure what circles they run with, but hopefully I am blocked by anyone who sides with their antics. PROOF: Inline linking as conversation goes on, but will include all here in order of all my messages on FA. https://i.imgur.com/B3xOVqw.jpg

I ordered a full-body traditional piece of a friend of mine. I asked her to tackle a subject she hadn't tried before (inflatable/shiny look). She sent several preliminary sketches and was more than happy to make minor corrections. The work was finished much quicker than most smaller pieces I have ever ordered, and it is in the mail on its way to me! I ordered a full-body portrait of a friend of mine, of his inflatable/pooltoy character (a subject I do not believe Zenithfoxie has much experience with). I gave her several pose options and let her pick what she was the most comfortable with. She sent me several preliminary sketches, and the final piece was finished very quickly. Zenithfoxie is quick, businesslike, and extremely pleasant to deal with! straychowchow Jun. 23rd, 2011 03:15 am (local) Re: Zenithfoxie Seconding this. I had her draw me a full-body color image of my OC, Mena Mynxxx. I explained her that I'd pay on payday, gave her references and details. Paid on Payday as promised! She sent me a sketch that wasn't quite right so I pointed them out and she fixed it no problem! She got the final piece done just yesterday! I love her portrayal of Mynxxx! When she was done, she had asked if she needed me to change her skin color, and would be willing to fix, but I told her it was fine! Her style is amazing, so I recommend commissioning her <3 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/notorious_hunty/Mynxxxfinal.jpg notorious_hunty Jun. 18th, 2011 07:12 am (local) Wave-chan! 1. I loved her meovel vs. catcom and Megaman Chibis so I just had to get one from her! ^_^ Communication was flawless and even got the sketch for me before I paid! Since it was a chibi, I didn't add too much detail, but forgot to ask what my character's relationship is with the canon character for a pose. I had explained it, but had no clue for a pose in particular, so I gave her some artistic freedom. There was a small error I pointed out, and she fixed it, no problem! And having done that.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/notorious_hunty/axlmynxx_col.jpg I'm really pleased with this piece, and so was she! ^_^ She had a lot of fun with it, which is what's the best part as a commissioning customer! I rarely commission other artists, because usually when I want something panned out on a canvas, I do it myself. However, I'm too busy with commissions atm to really produce something nice for myself. So I asked PurpleKecleon to do a Pokemon-themed picture for me. Waited for about a month, but the wait was worth it (I think she had a fairly large list anyway). Anywho, the picture she made for me was just eye-candy in all aspects. I actually found myself drawn towards the fire and the water more in the image then the characters themselves. Expensive commission, but worth every penny. She messaged me on Furcadia a short while after showing interest in doing the lineart for $25. Looking through her gallery and loving her art, I agreed to commission her. Communication was constant, and in just a few days she'd shown me a rough sketch for approval and was working on inking. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and even offered to fix a detail for free that I'd forgotten to mention in one of the characters' descriptions. Joice Murphy / bunglebearz 2. Deviantart / Furaffinity 3. Commissioned her at the beginning of February, received end of Feb. 4. She was offering an awesome deal for $10 coloured full-body images, +$3 for each character; I got one with my partner, best friend and my fursonas. Despite character interaction being way out of her comfort zone, she turned out a great picture! She was extremely communicative, with frequent e-mails and updates on Twitter/Tumblr, and was just great to deal with. I think she went above and beyond a $16 commission! here's the pic! I was expecting it may take a while but within a week she'd sent me sketch page! Beautifully drawn and since she'd gone on her vacation to the same country as me, making shipping much cheaper, she did me another sketch. ? Here's the awesome page of sketches. ukthewhitewolf Mar. 7th, 2011 08:32 am (local) Ellastasia 1: Ellastasia 2: DeviantART 3: October 2010 4: I contacted Ellastasia wanting 2 commissions as presents for my mother, both I needed before December. 1 was a pretty normal looking pegasus but the other was of a real horse my mum used to own - and I had no photos of this horse. She did absolutely brilliantly at bringing her to life perfectly from my explanations and vague colouring of a lineart as a reference to the point my mum instantly recognized it as her horse. She got them both done for Mid-November and I am so happy with how they came out (as is my mum). First piece and second piece

Since then it has been a hassle to get in contact and keep in contact with her. Months go by and I had yet to get a reply from Bubblepup. Trying to be understanding of situations I sought her out. My girlfriend mentioned she had a Deviantart. From there I had to chase her down on Tumblr, Facebook, Deviantart, and other sites just to get a response from her. It was getting to the point I just wanted a refund in which I later asked for. As you can see I have asked for a refund and have yet to recieve one since she has responded to me. Last contact was August 3rd, 2012 and I have yet to get a refund or heard any word. Later I found she abandoned her Deviantart Account SuicideHollow a week ago and made a new account TsukiKazuo. It makes it look like she is avoiding refunding me all together now and taking in new commissions on her new account. From how many accounts she has made it seems suspicious and makes me wonder if she has done this to others. Mood: Aggravated *Edit* Well i was promised a refund and was told twice she had the money.....I have yet to still get it. She said more then once that all she had to do was get it on her paypal and that her cousin could do it......well it's been like a month or over now . I'm pissed and just about done.

When we started Yuurikin was an amazing customer to have, she would pay quickly and gaves us a good conversation from time to time. She really enjoyed my friend's artwork a lot. We started out back in January. As months went by things were doing pretty well Yuurikin would always ask for a hold on our adopts which we had no problem in but the thing was she would never buy them even after waiting for a month or more. One day we were selling a huge batch of $5 adopts that had never sold. Yuurikin wanted to do a trade which I agreed on. So I gave her the adopts and waited for her half of the trade but it never came so I brushed it off since it was only a cookie cutter critter. When she took a art commission slot from us everything was going smooth at first till it came to the payment part. I ask for payment up front before my friend starts anything but since Yuurikin was like a friend she told me the payment will be sent in an hour or so because of her father. So I OKed it and the first stage of the commission was started which was a pencil sketch. Yuurikin loved how it looked all that was needed was a expression changed. So while going through this she mentioned to me that she found a friend who will pay for her now, which was fine. As we waited for payment the drawing was being pen inked and colored. After waiting for what I believe was like an hour or more I checked my paypal to see if anything was sent because the commission was completed. I saw no payment and the first thing that went through my mind was hoping that the email of the paypal was correct so I sent her a note about it. I told her she can't get her commission until payment is sent which she understood. After that I heard no word from her untill July 12th when I sent her a pm from my main account telling her that the payment was still never sent so she told me in reply that she will remind her friend. So I waited more and still never gotten a payment. Now my computer crashed from a hard drive failure on the 6th so I had no way to contact some people. It was on the 12th when my mother lend me her laptop so I could send a note from my main to Yuurikin that payment has not been sent. So as of August 17th I sent her a note asking what was her friend's FA so I could explain the situations and that I am still waiting for payment. As the note was read by her I never gotten a reply even as of today (August 18). So she pretty much ignored us. Me and my friend are extremely upset, Yuurikin had our trust and it felt squashed down pretty hard. The ink that is used for the lineart of the drawings is expensive which costs us $14.25. These are $8 bottles of ink which does run out after a lot of use. This is why we sell cookie cutter adopts with a large verity of color designs on them which is the only thing done digitally. Our main goel for this business is to make the customers happy and satisfied. We also have made a simple TOS if that is needed on here for this report. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3377520/ Also I do apologies if there are any errors my Enlgish is not my stong points and this is the first time I posted on here.
  25. On July, 16, 2019 I commissioned Dias_Doodles (redacted on discord) for a full painting piece for $75 CAD after helping them pay $16 CAD for art supplies on July, 10, 2019 with promise of a colored sketch, later sending another $7 CAD for a steam game on February, 1, 2020 in agreement to receive yet another small sketch. The next 9 months was spent with Redacted avoiding any conversation about the status of the commission all while showing off work made for themselves and other customers instead of mine as well as plugging their Patreon link. Around 9 months after the main payments i get some progress on one of the color sketches This is promptly followed by another 4 months of the same behavior towards my commission progress After being in the dark for all this time i decided to interview Redacted's other customers about their experience and warning them about my own, to which Redacted exploded when finding out. This was the final message from Redacted before I blocked them on all services. None of my pieces were ever finished, nor do i want to work with them again for a resolution, I have had enough.
