  1. Jul. 30th, 2012 at 2:37 PM ivorytigress Who: ChimeraRae on FA/DA Where: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ChimeraRae/ http://chimerarae.deviantart.com/ What: 73$ Swoobat Plushie. When: May 5th 2012 to now. Proof: Details below. Details: I had contacted ChimeraRae via email after seeing an auction of her's on Furbuy. She very quickly replied back, giving me the timeframe of a week to make. (I honestly didn't think it would take a week, but it made me happy she was excited and happy to take on the project.) She gave me the quote of 60$ + 13$ for shipping, which I paid immediately. I poked her a few days later, asking how things were going. She let me know that she was ordering the fur for the mane online, which I told her I was okay with. On 5/17, she sent me an email saying everything was done, except for the mane, and the eyes. She said she would send me a WIP ASAP. I was really quite excited about the whole thing. I heard nothing, so on May 26th, I sent her an email asking about an update. She responded the same day, explaining how things had gotten hectic in her life. She also said she was still waiting on the fur, but everything was done. I said okay. Later that day, I got a WIP picture. I was so excited to see it. On the 29th, she sent me an email saying she was back in town Thursday, and she hoped the blue fur was there so she could mail him. She also mentioned me getting a final picture so I could make changes if I needed to. May 30th, I contacted her, and I ended up asking her about holding the plush since I was moving June 9th. She said okay. June 10th, she sent me an email asking for my new address. June 12th, I sent her the new address. On the 15th, I contacted her, asking if she shipped the plush. She said she saw my email, and would send it out the next day. On the 22nd, she said she had given the Swoobat to her brother to ship, and he hadn't, and she would ship it out the next day, or Monday. She also mentioned a partial refund, along with a tracking number for when she sent it out. I went ahead and let her know the partial refund wasn't needed, I was just excited to see my plush. On July 2nd, I emailed again, asking if the plush had been shipped. She replied on the 4th, and said it had been shipped out Tuesday, and would get to me late that week, or early next week. I was so excited at that point, so I waited for my plush to arrive in the mail. July 16th. I email her again, because I was worried. She responded the same day, mentioned how it was weird that it wasn't there, and she would email me again in a bit with the address she had on the Fed-Ex Receipt. Later that day, I email asking if she had found the address, and I mentioned how I had noticed I only recieved a single WIP picture. I asked for a picture of the completed plush. She replied, and said she couldn't find the email with my address, and asked me to resend it. She also said she would send me a picture when she found them, because she wanted an example so she could make more, but she doubted she would "just because plushies have become so time-consuming." She then sent another email saying "Btw, WORST case- If I go to FedEx, they can't track her, she got sent to the wrong address, etc. etc., I WILL give you a full refund. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and this is just disorganization on my part, but hopefully that's a bit more peace of mind for you. XD" On the 19th on July, I sent an email asking for proof that she even sent the plush, or a refund, since I had only seen one WIP of the Swoobat. Her reply included an apology, mentioning how sloppy it looked, what she'll do to get organized, etc. and she said if she would get back to me that night or at latest the next day with results, completely ignoring what I had said. (Proof of being sent or refund.) Late the next day (20th) I sent a email just asking for a refund. I get an email back, with more WIPs of the Swoobat (which I didn't ask for) and she mentioned she wasn't able to get a ride from her mother, and would try her brother. If she couldn't get a ride that night or the next day, she would send a refund regardless of where the plush ended up. Extremely irritated and upset at that point, I replied, asking for a refund, and how the entire situation seemed suspicious to me. All I got back for a reponse is "Alright, I understand. I'll transfer first thing after I get paid." Waited several days, then emailed again on the 26th on July, asking when she planned on paying me back. Got a response of she got paid Friday, and would be at the bank by latest Saturday morning. Last I heard, she sent me an email on the 28th asking if my paypal was the same was my email. Which I immediatly responded to her question. The next day (29th) I sent another email asking for my refund. With no reply. 2. Jul. 30th, 2012 at 1:19 AM magicalxsalami WHO: TesxaCoyote on Furaffnity; sneak-theif on Deviantart WHERE: www.furaffinity.net/user/tesxacoyote ; http://sneak-thief.deviantart.com/ WHEN: Today, 7/30/12, around 10:45 pm. Cut because it's long. ( Collapse ) PROOF and EXPLAINATION: So today, 7/29/2012, I (Jack.) went into a livestream hosted by TesxaCoyote on Furaffinity, sneak-thief on DeviantArt, with the promise of mini chibis for $7. Now I thought they were adorable so I totally wanted one. So I asked to be on the list, everything was cool, and when it was my turn I linked the character I wanted. It happened to be this character here, owned by my friend Metz: http://i47.tinypic.com/vwzsdy.jpg Tesxa accepted, drew the character and then asked for my payment which I gladly gave because the artwork was quite beautiful and cute. Then she posted it on her account: http://i50.tinypic.com/2qa7l7n.png I commented on it before I went to save it to my computer and what do I find when I save it? http://i50.tinypic.com/24wgffm.png For some odd reason she found it necessary to title the file "Fuck you this design is awful." Which is not only incredibly immature and rude, but it begs me to ask the question WHY do the commission in the first place if you hate the character? She could've easily just refused to do it. I was still in the livestream at that point, and I said : "did you really hate the design that much? >_>" To which she replied: "OH IT BURNED MY EYES." I left before I could snag a screenshot of that interaction because I was so upset. It wasn't until after that a friend recommended I had done it and suggested I post on Artists Beware. And then the owner of the character, Metz, commented on the submission (beneath my first comment that I put before I saw the file name): http://i46.tinypic.com/2j851x.png and got an immature and rude response in return: http://i45.tinypic.com/dytzxi.png After that she did not communicate with either Metz or I. She could've easily told me that she did not like the character design and that would've been the end of that. I would've picked another character, or left. Instead she had to take a snide, sneaky path that left me, and others, feeling very hurt and upset and made her look bad. And to top that off she did not apologize for her rude behavior. Not a single "sorry" was said. She simply brushed it off like it was not a big deal. Very rude, and highly unprofessional.

Where: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/daggerswolfbane http://ulrich-ironpaw.deviantart.com/?rnrd=2358 What: Your character here digital commission auction. $12 (proof under cut) When: 4/22/2012 to Current Time Proof ans explanation under cut. Proof Reference 1) Actual Auction: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7807450/ (NSFW) 2) Confirmation of Winning: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/hh542/xirisrose/proof14.jpg 3) Request for Update 1: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/hh542/xirisrose/proof1.jpg 4) Request for Update 2: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/hh542/xirisrose/proof2.jpg 5) Request for Update 3: http://i1251.photobucket.com/albums/hh542/xirisrose/proof3.jpg 6) WIP: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7891070/ (NSFW) If FA links go dead there are screen captures in existence. Explanation: On April 22nd I bid on one of three spot's in a "your character here" auction (Proof 1) for $12 and won (Proof 2). A few days later a work in progress of the piece was streamed on May 1st. The piece was almost completed at the time and was told that additional coloring and shading will be added soon to finish up the image (Proof 6). Since then, on three different events (June 2nd, June 23rd, and July9th) I noted the artist and received no response. In the sent section it showed that the notes had been read and from favorites and comments it shows the artist is on FA every few days. My requests have been intentionally ignored and finally I posted the WIP as a WIP to my profile. It has been 3 months and there are no answers, no completed piece, and no response from the artist. I am still waiting on the final piece.
  4. Jul. 24th, 2012 at 1:32 PM nightlinez WHO: KitNabarii WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kitnabarii/ WHAT: Failed to pay for 1 badge and 2 auctions (over $100), promised to pay and made up excuses to delay payment WHEN: June 7th to July 10th PROOF AND DETAILS: It started when I opened up for badge commissions http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3533626/ on June 7th. She commented on the journal. However she never sent the money after I gave her my info http://i47.tinypic.com/35be3ia.png I opened up a Marker Auction on June 13th. All the rules were clearly stated. She commented on this as well, asking to pay for the badge and the auction in one shot. I said it would be better to send them separately. Again she said she would send the badge payment that has not been received. http://i48.tinypic.com/1zybrxu.png Not long after that my friend Novelteeth and I opened a collab auction up where she ended up bidding $70 and winning. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8254929/ here are the notes saying that she was planning on paying for the auctions. And even offering us half the money that day. http://i48.tinypic.com/33otugi.png She never payed for them and held us up for a while. She read our notes and did not respond until we had to remind her and asked if she was ignoring us. She owed me over $100+ until I finally told her I would put the auction back up. When I asked her why she could not inform me sooner about not being able to pay she made up excuses about her "sick baby". I told her I would have understood and would not be mad. http://oi50.tinypic.com/hs251s.jpg When my friend commented about our collab auction she got mad and was giving her different excuses. She ended up deleting the comments on her page before I could screen cap them. 2 weeks ago she told me she sent the payment weeks ago (even though no payment has been sent or she never notified me before). I told her if the payment did not get to me within a few days to cancel it for her safety. http://i47.tinypic.com/2pqrfiq.png EDIT: ok apparently we are "harassing her" I told her I am not going to do a badge and wait around for payments after the issues and I just got linked to this http://i47.tinypic.com/34j29w3.png ALSO here is a note she sent to me saying how this is our fault http://i50.tinypic.com/2ltprmu.png
  5. Jul. 23rd, 2012 at 10:21 PM ciderfox Okay so, my friend and I are having troubles with a commissioner. WHO: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kitnabarii (other aliases) http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kurokitten87/ http://kittai1988.livejournal.com/ WHERE: furaffinity.net WHAT: Bidded on auction, never paid. WHEN: June 23rd-July 10th 2012 PROOF: below cut EXPLAIN: below cut Nightlinez and I opened up for a collab auction on June 23rd, where KitNabarii ended up winning when it ended on July 2nd. I sent her a note asking about payment, which was ignored, after Nightlinez's initial note was ignored. Nightlinez then sent more notes trying to get the payment out of her. As you can see, she promised to pay it 'tomorrow' which was July 6th. So far, we have received no such payments. However, KitNabarii continues to buy art from others. I left a public shout to her which has now been deleted. She shouted back on my page claiming her baby is sick so she can't pay. The badges she is referring to are from Nightlinez which she ordered on June 7th and never paid. I responded on her page which was again, deleted. She gave more excuses about a sick baby, so I shouted again asking why she even bid on our auctions if she was having financial troubles. She replied saying that she did not know he would get sick. Even though a few minutes ago she claimed he got sick a month ago when Nightlinez first opened for badges. She also appears to owe more people money. She has now sent a note to Nightlinez telling us to re-start our auctions because she "doesn't want to keep us waiting". She claims she hasn't been able to get online, even though her favorites and submissions speak otherwise. So, as a warning she seems very flaky and might just back out of paying you completely. EDIT: http://i50.tinypic.com/2ltprmu.png Nightlinez just received this note from her, trying to say it's our fault
  6. Jul. 18th, 2012 at 9:32 AM thestory137 WHO: Nekomage WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/nekomage WHAT: Started with a late payment but is about continued harassment after issue was resolved. WHEN: The harassment only happened for a day before I deleted the journal. Time stamps are on everything if you need specifics of the whole event. PROOF: Our dealing in notes. http://postimage.org/image/jse5smb8b/full/ The journal I made. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/47368034/nekomage03.png EXPLAIN: What happened is pretty simple. I painted an auction image for nekomage. There was apparently some issues with paypal but after waiting and contacting nekomage a few times and never receiving payment over the span of a couple weeks I became suspicious. I sent them a note saying that the payment was overdue and if they didn't pay, or contact me to try and pay by money order, I would warn others on dealing with them. The note went on ignored and unread even after I left a shout on their page asking them to read it. They were active but that went ignored. Assuming they were avoiding paying me I put up a journal asking my viewers advice on the matter. As soon as he saw it he read and responded to my note as well as sent a payment then and there as far as the time on the Paypal invoice is concerned. Honestly I got my money so its not about the payment. I am still suspicious that he only paid after the journal scared him but in all honesty I don't know if its just a coincidence the money went through right after the journal. The problem here is he continued to spam my journal harassing me and my watchers long after I stopped talking to him. The last two times I said anything was my last note thanking him for the payment and a response in the journal that simply showed him an image of the payment I received and the time on it proving it just went through after the journal was posted and not a minute before. First couple of links had to be deleted because I missed crossing out some personal information in my hastiness but I went back and fixed it within minutes for safety reasons. Of course he used my mistake as fuel for his fire. If you read the journal and notes it should be very clear. All in all I still don't like doing this but it ended up as a terrible experience that I don't want anyone else to have to deal with. Sadly all he had to do was explain it was a misunderstanding and I would have left it at that.
  7. Jul. 11th, 2012 at 4:00 PM eradragon When I commissioned him, he was a lot more active. Then I saw he was opening animation commissions. This was shortly after an issue I had with ----, so thought I could get it replace with this fellow. This action proved me wrong. Who: bendilin Where: Fur Affinity http://www.furaffinity.net/user/bendilin What: Single character adult animation When: February 25, 2010 was when I sent payment off http://db.tt/7ZlnToVm Proof: Here I am, listed on his front page. http://db.tt/xx61lIYc Along with a friend of mines who I suggested to him, since it was cheap. Has been saying animated for a while now. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8621944/Bendilin/Bendilin5.png https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8621944/Bendilin/Bendilin6.png Yesterday I got this note from someone saying he was active elsewhere. During the period of when I commission him to present day, he has been avoiding my notes and adding more and more people to his watch list on FA. http://db.tt/fTkx6MBo (http://virgiltexas.com/post/26783536415/tropes-vs-women-in-the-work-of-bendilin-spurr-sonic is the link provided in the screen shot ) Wish I had screen shot his Twitter feed, but at the time I sent him this message, he was in a conversation with someone else. http://db.tt/ncet03Is I go and check his account today to find his twitter account to be gone. So once again, he has high tail it else where. Explain: So I commissioned a animation from Bendilin. Not expecting too much considering the price, but he said he was willing to do it, and accepted my money up front. He was active back when it happened so I thought it would be done at least within a year. After months of no communication, I started sending notes, asking about updates. He did reply once, saying he was working on it, but that was it. when I asked back in April 2011, he never replied back. It was around then I notice more and more people being added to his FA watch list. So he was still active. I did ask one of the FA mods if they could check out to see if he was still active, but they couldn't help. Not a surprise, this being personal matter and not the website problem. Time passed, I would keep checks on it, did ask again, but of course no response. Added his AiM name in hopes of catching him online, but no luck there either. Wasn't until I got an IM from someone over on FA, informing me of an article written about him, which also pointed out his Twitter Feed, which was quite active, with him talking to several people upon the time I caught it. Sent him a message there and like I said before, his twitter account is now gone. So I don't know what... is he hiding from me or people in general. So as of this posting, nothing has been solved. If you see this fellow, be weary of him, as I can safely say, he's a con-artist. Don't know what to do. Can assume, best would be to give up on it, but I still have a slight bit of hope to catch him if anything.
  8. Jul. 11th, 2012 at 12:35 AM zombieyaoi I forgot to edit this a while back. I've modified the lineart in SAI (modified the horns, removed the wings, removed jewelry etc.) and released it as 'free by request' lineart. This is as resolved on my end as it's going to get. WHO: Zephriam on DeviantART. Zephriam on FurAffinity. And another FurAffinity account. Zephriam on Furcadia, among many other alts. I am not sure what alts she has currently, because she's a known trader, but I know she won't part with Zephriam, and I know some alt names are listed in the thread below. WHERE: Art trade between me and her turned commission. WHAT: She asked for character lineart. Agreed price was $12.00. Art can be viewed [ here ] WHEN: 2010. Image was originally submitted on my old deviantART account in August 2010. PROOF: Screenshots of notes are provided here. I am the OP, Lau. EXPLAIN: Originally, this started as an art trade. Then we decided she'd pay me 12 dollars paypal for the art. And then she never paid, and when I tried to contact her about it, repeatedly, she always never had the money or had some sort of crisis. While commissioning and paying other artists. I didn't want to resort to this but I see no other options. All details are explained in the thread linked in "Proof". EDIT: Added DA/FA links. EDIT 2: Added the new FA link as well.
  9. Jul. 10th, 2012 at 3:21 PM crazeetyger WHO: Darius Koopa/DMK WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/dmk / http://www.furaffinity.net/user/dariuskoopa WHAT: Art Trade WHEN: Nov. 6, 2011 EXPLAIN: I posted a journal opening up art trades ( http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2885835/ ) and DMK was one of the people who commented. We exchanged info on what we wanted (I do not have those initial notes any longer) and I finished my half a few days later (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6830293/ ). I wasn't working at the time and so I could churn out my art rather quickly. I did not expect him to do the same. Two months later, I hadn't seen or heard about our trade, so I sent hom a quick note: http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/dmk1.png He said he had been busy and I gave him the benefit of the doubt. The following month, still not having heard anything, I shot him another note (I seem to have deleted the one I initially sent) : http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/DMK2.jpg Again, he said his life was hectic. I was moving at the time and understood. The link is a ref sheet. I would send him a note once a month over the next several months: http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/DMK3.jpg http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/dmk4.jpg http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/DMK5.jpg http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/dmk6.jpg He did not respond to this last note, though he read it within an hour or so of my sending it. I waited a month to send the next one. I was annoyed with his excuses and realizing I would most likely not see the art owed, I got a tad bit snippy: http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/dMK7.jpg He offered to email me his sketch. I'm not really sure why I insisted on him uploading it instead. I just felt it would be a bad idea if he had my email. I went out of town a few days later and when I returned, he still had not posted the sketch. I sent him another note, to which he read and ignored.: http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/Jandan_2009/dmk8.jpg I admit, I was probably too snippy in that last note. But being polite wasn't working and I was asking a direct question in which I wanted a direct yes or no answer. After the second note or so, I did start watching him (to which he watched me in return) . He is very active in his journals, opening up commissions and doing live streams. I understand people need money to live (sad but true) so I didn't want to be too insensitive. Yes, we had a transaction of art instead of money, but art from someone else doesn't pay your bills. I understand that. I just felt I was getting the run around with him and the feeling I would never get the art I was owed. EDIT 7/20: He finished his half and sent me the link today. It's been uploaded to his page. He did apologize in both the note and the artist comments.

  11. Jul. 7th, 2012 at 6:47 AM aperturefox I haven't posted here before, so I apologize for any mistakes. About two months ago (I believe on May 4th), I commissioned someone at an anime con for two tails, one of my fursona, and one of my fiance's. I paid upfront VIA cash- 90$. I only have the one email she sent of the night for proof of this whole thing. Ever since that email she sent, I had not heard from her since, even though after I tried to contact her at times. I do not know what's going on, if she lost internet or something. Quite frankly, I know nothing. The rest is under the cut. EDIT: (4/14/13): Sent her another email, plus I contacted her VIA Etsy, where her recent upload was around March of this year. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/266/alik.png/ EDIT: I sent her another email a few days ago, and this is what I got: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/Baka_Koori_Kitsune/akijs.png Was about a week ago, but I have not heard back yet. EDIT: I was going to email her today, but my hotmail wouldn't work. Finally I got this on my phone, and now hotmail works! It must have known. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/Baka_Koori_Kitsune/Capture-2.png WHO: Aliks Cosplay http://www.alikscosplay.com/ http://www.etsy.com/shop/AliksCosplay WHERE: BAMCon- '12. First anime con in Pittsfield, MA. Took place probably around 2-6 PM on May 4th. I paid up front, 90.00$ WHAT: I ordered two tails to be made for my fiance and myself of our fursona. She said because of the markings, it would come to 90$ all together, ship included. When we were talking to her, she asked for my email which I promptly gave to her, which she emailed me from her phone asking me for the reference sheets for the tails. WHEN: We started transactions on the 4th. As stated I paid her 90.00$ up front in cash. I don't have a receipt, just the emails. The first email was sent to me asking about our references, stated here. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/Baka_Koori_Kitsune/screen1.png After that, I sent her the email containing the two references. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/Baka_Koori_Kitsune/screen2.png After I sent her that, she said that she had received it on her phone. I forgot she said that honestly (I have a crappy memory), and sent her an email about 13 days later. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/Baka_Koori_Kitsune/screen3.png So I waited. Then, I sent her another email a couple weeks later. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/Baka_Koori_Kitsune/Screen4.png Then, I sent her this today. Now, I tried to not be rude, to be truthful I'm just really awkward at typing these emails, because I feel I sound 'pushy' when I really don't mean to be. I realize now I probably could have worded this better, and if she does read it, she probably is pretty mad. I'm sorry, I really tried to be professional about it. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e235/Baka_Koori_Kitsune/Screen5.png This was sent today PROOF: Other than the emails I really don't have one. She didn't give me a receipt to my phone, or anything. EXPLAIN: I tried to e-mail her within a couple weeks so she didn't feel like she was being hounded. I have no idea if she's getting them, if something happened, or what. She never did ask for my address to ship, but that might have slipped her mind. I have her etsy/website, but I don't think they have been updated in a while. I don't hate her, I'm not spiteful towards her, I just really want either my money back, or my tails.

And this is pretty much what any attempt to contact her looks like https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18591885/celly%20skype.png EXPLAIN: I commissioned her around a year ago now, her username on deviantart was CelestetheHedgehog. She was doing a sale on sketches so I thought I'd get a few, if I recall she was having money issues. I contacted her a little bit after her sale, on July 11th by note, and she accepted. I sent her payment a few days later, and she got to work. Not too long after, I got the first sketch from her, and was very pleased with it. She said she'd work on the next ones soon, so I waited. I didn't use MSN much, which was one of the only ways to contact her, but I tried to sign on every once in awhile to see if she had anything new. I never managed to get online at the same time she did, so I dropped her a DA note to see if she would see it and reply. It took her awhile, but she got back to me, saying she had 2 more sketches, and would give them to me that night when she scanned them. I got online and poked her, and she gave me 2 sketches, I was pleased with them. I trusted she was going to finish the others at this point, so I gave her some time. I tried to pop on MSN now and then, to see if she had anything for me. I never saw her online again after that. I had just figured she wasn't around when I was, so I tried to shoot her a DA note. No reply. Eventually, she made a journal saying that anyone who commissioned her should note her to remind her of what they had gotten so she could finish it ASAP. Alright. I noted her again. No reply. Pretty sure she at least read it. I was kinda upset at this point, still popped on MSN now and then to see if she was there, nothing. I eventually found out she had moved accounts, and didn't even tell me, as well as I assume anyone else who commissioned her. Turns out she had become a pony artist, and had her own ask blog on Tumblr, AskPalette-Swap. I was pretty upset, it's probably one of the worst things a commissioner can do is change accounts and not tell people who paid you. Doing that just seems like you're fleeing. After I found out who she was, saw she had been posting quite a bit to her ask blog, I noticed her name pop up on Skype, in which I promptly IMed her, asking about things. She took awhile to reply, but she finally did, and apologised. She said she had the rough sketches, and that she would even draw some pictures, full color, of my pony to make up for the wait. I was pleased to hear this. She said she was sick, but would show me the pics later in the night after she woke up from a nap. Later that night, I got no message. I waited for a week or so, I figure I'd give her time to heal from being sick. But I heard nothing from her, at all. But I noticed one thing, she kept posting to her ask blog just fine. Drawing or streaming every day. I was incredibly upset at this point. I tried so hard to get to her, I even consider her a friend, I know her from a long time ago. And she just treats me like this. It doesn't seem like she cared at all about getting things done, which is weird. She had worked so fast before. I ended up sending her a few messages on skype again, one asking for an update. Sent it at around 5 PM, no reply. Noticed at around 1 AM she posted a picture to her pony blog. IMed her again. No reply, so I sent her a message letting her know how I feel. Took her forever to reply, but she did, saying she was sorry and would work on the pics soon. I eventually got 2 of the last promised pics, but I'm still waiting on one, which apaprently just needs some color. I keep waiting, trying to contact her on skype, and on tumblr, no replies, ever. I'm pretty sure she's ignoring me, since I see her change her skype icon quite a bit. To add to the frustration, she opened up MORE commissions on her pony blog, and even finishes them before mine. She even draws things for 4chan. It's frustrating, this honestly has to be the most frustrating commissioner I have ever had to deal with. I try my hardest to keep in contact, and be polite, but I just can't deal with this anymore. Is it really that hard to just finish the work? She said she just had to color it. And refuses to stay in contact with me or reply to me. So I'm posting this here. It's just upset me so much, especially since she used to be so good at delivering art. I tried to be nice since she's a friend, but I don't want to be treated like this. u_u I wouldn't have been so bothered if I just got an update. I've waited pretty long for commissions but it doesn't bug me as much as long as the person stays in contact so I know they don't just run off. I'll probably get the last pic eventually, but I feel this attitude towards commissioners is uncalled for.

PROOF: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2216583/ Screencaps of her FurAffinity journal are below showing where I am listed as buying commissions (I am "thedormouse"). EXPLAIN: A year ago maoria posted the commission journal shown above. I decided to commission some pictures and noted her on FA. She was friendly and responsive at first, as this note with history shows, and was even willing to ship from the UK to the US: After I sent her payment, she abruptly cut off communication. After a few weeks, I noted her again about the commissions and received this bizarre response. After some time with no further communication, I messaged her several times but received no response (even though the FA note system indicated they had been read or at least deleted). Finally, I told her that I'd open a trouble ticket on her if she did not respond. Naturally, she didn't, so I did, though that got me nowhere. Her account was fairly inactive for many months. Recently, however, she has made a return and has even started taking commissions again. I noted her about mine. When the first few were ignored, I noted her again and found she had blocked my account. She's posted a "to-do" list of commissions, which I am of course not on. Emails to the accounts she has listed on her FA account yield no response either.

She accepted and not long after she sent me a link to a partially completed portion of the picture I had requested. The picture she sent me showed the torso and legs of one character, and just a scrap of the other one, though she explained that she had been busy and had not had time to work on the art that much. Some months passed, and I sent her a note on Fur Affinity, asking about the status of my commission. When she did not answer, I succeeded in locating her DeviantArt account and I sent her a note there, again asking after the status of my commission. She answered me back and explained the circumstances behind her absence. In the note, she offered to give me a refund, and I refused, preferring that she should finish my commission instead. This was in February of 2012. I have not heard from her since, and there has been no visible activity on either her FA account or her DeviantArt account since I commissioned her. I have sent her two more notes on DeviantArt, one at the start of May and one at the start of June, and neither have been answered or, so far as I can see, even read.

He has left his FA account and has promised not to contact me since July 3rd. PROOF: I will put with the explanation, to hopefully help you follow better. EXPLAIN: For the past few months, Dante has been annoying me. He was a bit annoying during my pantsu icon raffle, where he kept mentioning that his birthday was soon after the raffle ended. Him entering: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/raffle1.png Comment on raffle reminder: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/raffle2.png I personally found his continuous mention of his birthday to be sort of a pressure, even if he didn't intend. I just assume most people wouldn't mention it at all if they didn't want to put pressure on the artist. May 31st, after the raffle had ended, he noted me. I was completely confused at first at what he was asking for, but after clarification, he was breaking one of the rules of my TOS: I must be paid before work. Here he's trying to order a commission and promising to pay later because right now he doesn't have a paypal: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/attemptatfreecommission.png I don't have screen shots of this because the shout got bumped off my page (I only felt the need to make this article after tonight, so all caps are recent), but in it he asked if he could commission me for a pantsu icon, even though they were journal only. The fact that he was aware of it, and wanted one even though he had no paypal, really stung me bad. July 19th, after I had answered someone else's question about my future pricing on reference sheets, he comes to the deluxe reference sheet I did for my fursona and commented: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/reffsheetalltogether.jpg I put him on my blacklist then. He's the first and hopefully the last. June 22nd, he came to my page and apologized. I accepted, and he then asked what being on the blacklist is (I only have a small portion of this, as shouts got bumped off): http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/askingaboutblacklist.png Then, on June 28th, he came back to my page and asked to get off the blacklist again: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/askingtobeoffblacklist.png I replied "No.", but he wiped his shouts before I could grab it. But at this point I was more than fed up with his whining. Today, July 3rd, I posted a journal opening up my pantsu icons again. He came in, whining about how he wanted one but he was on the blacklist. Then he tried to get someone to commission me for him, which I did not want: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/pantsujournalcomments.jpg He sent me a note, and well...Here's the notes (long read): http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm177/Loveless_Neko3/notesalltogether.jpg After this I was absolutely stunned, and felt making an A_B post was necessary so other's wouldn't have trouble with him as well. But I was unaware of weather I had to have actual, money exchanging business to post him on here (I couldn't really find anything about it on here, sorry if it was somewhere and I didn't realize) so I made a journal on FA asking for advice. Here's how the journal basically went (black boxes used to hide screenames and conversations not relevant to the situation, also screenshot thanks to someone on FA. Journal is also deleted as of now, but I have un-censored screenshot still saved): http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/3254/questionaboutmakinganab.jpg And it ended there. He wiped his account, and I'm making this post. I hope people can watch out for him, because this was not the best experience.

She had been known for drama in the past, but I thought she'd gotten her act together. I guess I was wrong. I don't pressure folks to turn the art over, but I waited a year before I contacted her the first time, and that was because she made a Journal on FA updating everyone that had commissioned her of their place in line. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1953643/ PROOF: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/badgecommission.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/badgeconvo.jpg EXPLAIN: Well, 2 years ago, I commissioned a couple of icons from Vani and she turned them around pretty quickly. Soon thereafter we agreed to a trade, in time for AC 2010. I performed my part of the trade as outlined in my evidence image entitled "badge convo". The link to my part is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4020610/ In her reply she mentions finishing my part before she leaves for AC that year. I was simply happy to get a piece from an artist who's art I admired. Then she made a post on June 21st 2010 http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1494591/ for a round of badges before AC. I noted her as referenced in my proof called "Badge Commission". I sent payment of 46$ and set to waiting patiently like everyone else. As an artist myself I don't make a habit of pushing another artist for work. I like everyone else had just kept quiet, even as Vani made post after post fretting about not having enough money to live on. I waited even as she took on more commissions from others. Even as she went from Con to con, making money off of other people, producing art and posting it on her blog, on her art sites and twitter. I clammed up afraid to speak up. I didn't want her legion of fans to come and get me. I didn't want to create drama. Like others who have posted here, I'm tired of that. It's not about the money now. That money is thrown away, it's gone. It's about the principal. Well, in March I decided to speak up. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/emailcheckin.jpg I emailed her to ask for a status. To this day I haven't gotten an email back. Part of me never really expected to. If she had any intention of doing the work, she would have shown at least a sketch or something by now. Finally I got fed up this week and made an inquiry to her on her Tumblr Page. To my surprise she replied with the attached... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/tumblrmessage.jpg Her reply left me a little stunned. I mean, she literally has no intention of finishing any of the work she took from those on FA. I can tell it just by the way she's speaking. Just based on the badge commissions she took, basing them at about 40$ a piece, she made close to 800$ off of us. So after reading her reply, I sent her another message outlined below: "I appreciate the reply, and sadly I fully expected the answer I got. I'm very disappointed. I know you're a college student with a lot on your plate, but your commission list is 8 miles long. You made a commitment to all those people that you would draw them something if they gave you money. You made a commitment to those who drew for you in exchange for a piece back. You haven't even so much as done a sketch, but you're so happy to fill your blog with drawings daily. Instead of doing that you could do a commission a day until you're caught up. You know...if you'd just given me a sketch of the things you owed me, I would have been more than happy to call my debt paid and colored the dang things myself. You didn't even try. I don't think it's fair for you to say that you're going to a con to earn money to live on when you've already lived on the money that you got from every single person on your commission list. You've already spent that money and even if every single one of them demanded their money back, there's no way they'd ever get it. Your answer to me is a cop out. You're more than willing to draw at a con or doodle on your blog, but for people on the internet you're just leaving them on the back burner with no idea when you'll actually get to it. I'm very sorry you're in whatever situation you're in at school/home, but you made commitments to ALL of the people you took money from. So I guess consider the art I gave you a gift and consider the money I gave you a donation. I still really enjoy your art, but it isn't worth continuing to wait and hope for anymore. Best of luck to you, Trish" So the purpose of my post here is to help others be warned before commissioning her online or at a con. Her art is pretty, well done and balanced. I really enjoy the style, but it's not worth the headache. 2 years have gone by. I don't think I'll ever see the pieces I commissioned from her. I don't want the money back. I want what I paid for. Even if she did it now, it would feel forced. I don't trust her to do what she says she'll do and neither should anyone else. So, Please, don't mark it resolved, because short of a public apology to everyone she owes stuff to, there isn't much else she can do for me. Please mark it as warning. She owes 54 people plus 5 trades. I somehow doubt she'll ever do it. Even if each of these commissions was a single character at $40 that's over 2000$ she's made off of a community that trusted she had changed. I don't want anyone else to make that mistake.

PROOF: - Complete exchange of notes in a text file. There's 11 pages, I'll write summary below. Also the links are borked because A. cut&paste from FA and B. I removed the sketches from my server because Xinnova need not access them anymore. - [NSFW, feral bits] Thumbnail of sketched character sheet. To provide proof that I did draw the commission and go to this point of near-completion. Forgive the size and watermark, I do not wish to provide this person with further images for his perusal. - Screenshot of full refund. SUMMARY: Customer doesn't know what he wants, or at the very least does not communicate this to the artist. Despite claiming that he is a writer and that this character sheet will "define me spiritually" he does not write a conclusive description of what he wants, hemming and hawing over what he wants and then becoming increasingly abusive when the artist indicates her boundaries in accordance with the TOS they agreed to. Upon a full refund the customer posts a harassing journal and he and his friends make libelous statements and insults, suggesting customer sue the artist and wishing physical harm on the artist. Upon completing another character sheet commission, Xinnova contacted me about getting a similar commission from me. I showed him my TOS which he said, and I quote "That's actually very reasonable" and "I will try not to make too many changes, if I do though I will pay the fee". We agreed on $100 for the sheet, half paid up front with a deadline of 6 months. The transaction started out pleasantly, though early on I realized I had to drag a description of the character I was supposed to draw out of this guy. I thought that he was just a little enthusiastic and disorganized and that I could work with him; I've worked with customers before who sort of knew what they wanted and helped them along to come to a satisfactory end result. No biggie. I thought. I told him to take a day to make a list of things he wanted instead of sending lots of separate notes, and when he sent notes asking me to add things after I had started (and shown him) sketches I didn't make a fuss and did. The trouble started when I showed him the third sketch; the first was a side view, he asked for changes (rounded the muzzle/added bandana/number of teats/placement of teats/size of paws/shape of tail-mouth) which I applied. Upon being shown the second sketch he approved the changes, asking if I could curve the horns back a bit more, which I did. He specifically complimented me on the revised tail-mouth; initially described as being shaped like a rose-bud that opens into a worm-like maw with teeth. I drew the closed tail mouth as a rose bud, with a bulb below the bud and the little green outer leaves. I told him I was checking off the side-view as approved and listed the remaining work, thinking we had a decent jump off point for the character design. He told me he was looking forward to the results. He asks if he can still add a necklace. I added the necklace in the fourth sketch. Upon being presented with the third sketch, he tells me the previously changed and approved muzzle "doesn't feel right at all". He also asks me to change the previously changed and approved closed tail-mouth design. I apply both of these changes. He asks me to match the size of the paws in the turn-around, which are already matched in size; I put the sketches side to side to ensure that they were, before I presented him with the sketch. So, I can't change it because the paws are already matched up. He asks me to change the teats/pouch, I apply this change. He tells me the cock has a knot; the cock is not shown, just the sheath. He did not ask for a cock, so I just drew the sheath. He says he has a sheath, which is great, because I drew a sheath. Again, can't change that. He tells me he wants the anus included from the view from below, except you wouldn't be able to see the anus from that angle, especially with the vagina mound in the way. So I can't change that because quite frankly, it would make it look like I don't know the proper placement of the anus, which he seems to believe. He "helpfully" tells me the anus "is located in the common area of the tail base". He tells me to mind the shape of the serpent heads, which is fine. It was a messy sketch but I'm quite familiar with ancient Egyptian art, that's not a problem. Current count of changes is 11 changes applied spread over 3 opportunities for Xinnova to provide feedback. On the 3 items I couldn't change I explained why I could not. I send him the fourth sketch, which includes close-ups of the genitalia, including a close-up of the anus in it's proper place. At this point, his unclear waffling on the muzzle and tail is some cause for concern for me and I tell him that this is his last batch of free revisions. I tell him to take his time in deciding what he wants to see changed and that if he wants more changes, he'll have to pay extra for the additional labor, as stated in my TOS which he agreed to. I had a feeling that otherwise, I was going to go back and forth on the muzzle and tail for a long time, if not on other parts as well if he suddenly disapproved of his previously approved changes. Keep in mind that he has currently paid $6,25 per element of the character sheet. As a professional, I can only spend so much time on a $6,25 sketch. He sends a short note, telling me he has 6 months? I set a 6 month deadline for my work, and we're already 3 months into it. But I didn't tell him he only had a day, just to take a day to think about it, since his other replies asking for changes were sent fairly quickly and then promptly disapproved of again next time 'round, I thought maybe he thought I was trying to rush things and that he didn't have time to think about it. I tell him he can take his time and give him some hints on how to put together clear reference material. I figured that, even if he could not find good images or couldn't "redline" the sketch, that he could write out something more detailed, as he lists himself as being a writer. This is where the transaction sours, in retrospect, pretty much beyond repair. I try and remain civil despite the fact he calls my experience and professionalism into question, tells me I should have done the research(?), that he only asked for a few small changes, that I refused to change things (but when prompted, doesn't tell me what I refused), that I'm not giving him opinions or options etc. I give him a play-by-play response telling him that he needs to tell me what he wants or else I can't draw it. I restate that I want him to take his time and tell me exactly what he wants so that I can change it and hopefully bring the transaction to a satisfactory conclusion. He goes on about how this commission is unique and he can't just describe it despite the fact that he is A. a writer, or says he is and B. he claims this character sheet will "define me spiritually". Despite the fact he is not an artist he tells me sketching is the easiest part of a commission and something about experience, which he doesn't have as an artist, so I don't even know where he was going with that; at this point I'm just confused and uncertain where this hostility is coming from. Stress and illness can only account for so much, I've never had a customer get angry before when I ask them what they want. But he feels like I'm cutting his head off by asking him what he wants so I can draw it for him. I initially read the note but don't reply, assuming that with time he'd send me the info I needed and we could get this business sorted. I try to go on with my day and do unrelated art, but I'm distracted and irritable and I realize that I was just waiting for the other passive aggressive shoe to drop. I wanted to bring the commission to a good conclusion, despite the brouhaha, but realized that in order to do so, I'd have to let him bully me into, essentially, work for peanuts. Well, smaller peanuts. Or the burnt, shriveled and stale bits of peanuts left in the bottom of the bag of peanuts. And that I would hate myself for it. So I terminated the transaction, as stated I am able to do in the TOS he agreed to. I even gave him a full refund. Then I told him that he could make no claim to the sketches, could not use them for anything and that I desired no further contact. I saw that he had read the note and he did not reply. I thought that would be the end of it and I was quite happy to leave it at that. That said, I still had a half-finished character sheet, which I own fully and was out about $50 of labor. Trying to recoup some of my losses I changed the design around to no longer resemble Xinnova's design (which according to him, I had failed to approximate anyway) and put it up as a pre-sketched character sheet/adoptable. AFTER I had removed all mention of Xinnova from my account, which was just in my commission list in my journals anyway. I did in no way refer, link or name him anywhere. To which [possibly NSFW, tame but feral bits]he promptly outed himself as the uncooperative and abusive customer in the very first comment. Notice his friends also joining in. I blocked them all. He then posts a harassing journal linking directly to my submission, breaking the Terms of Service of FurAffinity. When a moderator deletes his post and gives him a warning, he complains about how he was just defending his good name which would have never been jeopardized if he had dropped the matter when he was refunded. You'll notice the blatant discrepancies between his communication with me and what he tells his friends: That I was insulting and attacking him, that he only asked for 4-5 small changes and that I didn't do half, that I have "butchered" his name publicly, that he wasn't initially prepared to pay extra for additional labor in case he needed numerous changes and so forth. Interestingly, there's apparently 3-4 of his friends who filed Trouble Tickets about me/my pre-sketched commission, despite they were never even peripherally involved with this transaction. Harassment, name-calling, insults and the like ensue, all based on what little skewed information they had. Which brings us to this post. In conclusion: Do not work with this person. He doesn't know what he wants and gets angry when you don't either and refuse to do endless revisions until he makes up his mind, which might be never; he wants other people to define him spiritually, which is just never going to happen. It's not worth it and neither is the resulting abuse and libel he uses to whip his friends into an ignorant frenzy. Friends, whom I should add, who would also probably be best avoided if these statements are indicative of their true nature. I'll probably get more abuse and harassment for this post, but I honestly think it's worth it if I can save at least one other artist from this frustration and aggravation; You are better than this, do not work with him.

  21. Mar. 16th, 2012 at 12:47 PM keshimeg WHO: Vani/Vanimute/Vanillakitsune aka Stripesandteeth/Ash WHERE: VanillaKitsune.deviantart.com (now deactivated) also Vanimute@DA Vani@FA Stripesandteeth@Tumblr WHAT: Digital chibi, Digital Portrait WHEN: August 6th 2009 up until 20th December 2011 PROOF: Proof of payment http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/ashpayment-1.jpg Original commission request was made on her Vanillakitsune DA account which has now been deactivated. I have placed screencaps of what conversation I could get, they are in the explanation. EXPLAIN: I have been a customer wronged by Vani/Ash. At one point I thought we were on a very good level, enough to say we were sort of friends. While my situation has a better ending than most as I received a refund in the end, I will share it. I've wanted to share it for a long time but always felt the need to tip-toe around her feelings and her fans. I'm done hiding though, because her behaviour is not on. I was happy with my outcome, despite having to fight for it for so long. However, after seeing her open more commissions, well, that angered me! I feel upset and sorry for the people who are still waiting, and those new commissioners who have no idea. I commissioned Ash on August 5th, 2009, this was on her VanillaKitsune DA account. She was wanting to save up for some ragdoll cats. Her art was an inspiration and I think this was around the time we were acquaintances. I ordered a chibi ($15) and a digital portrait ($50). I am a very trusting person and I really wanted to help. Full payment of $65 was sent upfront, I was extremely excited! Here is the payment proof http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/ashpayment-1.jpg A few months passed and I finally received a my chibi. It wasn't the highest quality of art (pencil sketch coloured in) but I still did enjoy it, hey I got art for one of my biggest inspirations, yipee! Here is the chibi commission http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/Art%20for%20me/Kyle/Kyle_Commish_by_Vanimute.jpg At this point I was pretty confident I will get my digital portrait soon. I waited.. and waited. Ash has changed accounts to Vanimute on DA so I found her there and watched her. I continued to see her upload new art (none being commissions) but still I waited patiently! I take commissions myself and understand that sometimes you don't have the right inspiration. I also kept into account she was in college. A while passed and I discovered she was active on FA under the name Vani, not only uploading personal art but.. taking more commissions? I made an account on FA just to follow her and wait, still very patiently though! It came to the point where she was continuously opening commissions, until finally making a journal about her to-do list/queue. The one we know ever so well http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1953643/ My commission is a year and a half overdue at this point, you would think I would be at the top of the list? I am all the way down the bottom! At this point I was done patiently and silently waiting. I voiced my feelings, albeit in the open but I think I had the right to. You can find the conversation here http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2014394/#cid:16534744 I generally like to be a kind person and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, even after being told it was my responsibility to keep in touch with her. Also if you read her reply, it is full of excuses (valid or not) and not one apology to me (I ended up being the one apologising?). As a commissioner myself I feel it is my responsibility to let my commissioners know if there will be a delay, also at least have the decency to own up to your mistake, have some humility and apologise?? So after feeling like the bad guy, I noted her on FA, here is a print screen. Note how I am still very understanding! http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/Ash1.jpg Well, that note was never read. I couldn't understand? I was told to note her! I waited months for a reply, it still says in my outbox that it has not been read. So I sent another one, this time I did not sugar coat my feelings. I was done, this was unacceptable. She still had $50 of my money and not one apology. Here is the note http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/Ash2.jpg After this on not being read, I discovered I have to email her school account? Awesome! So far we have gone from Vanillakitsune@DA, Vanimute@da, Vani@FA (all of which have been abandoned) and now her school email. I sent the same message to her but via email. To my surprise I got a reply. I got an apology, we worked out what I wanted. I gave her 5 different characters to choose from. All different species and levels of fun in hopes this would be helpful. In these emails I reverted back to being kind and understanding, hoping to not upset her. I understood she was stressed and made a mistake and honestly didn't want to ruin any chances of receiving my art. This was the 7th/8th of June 2011. I received an update 2 weeks later, with some sketches. Awesome, it looked like we were getting somewhere. I replied saying I liked them, thanked her and hoped for her to continue. 2 months I waited, and sent her an email wondering what was going on. I didn't receive a reply. This is getting quite long, I promise it ends soon! I then discovered her on TUMBLR. We are so far away from commissioning her on Vanillakitsune. Tumblr has an ask system so some months after the email I sent, I sent an ask about it. I don't have records of what was sent, but I expressed my unhappiness again and stated this was unfair. I was told since I found it unfair I would get a refund. If I remember correctly a few weeks passed and I had to send her an ask again! This time the reply I got was her paypal email, telling me to send her an invoice for the refund and that she would have it by the end of the week. I sent it on the 6th of December. I received the refund 2 weeks later, on the 20th of December, 2011. I commissioned her on the 5th of August, 2009. I am happy I got a refund, although it took a look of persistence. I remained nice and understanding the majority of the time. Forgave her constantly and chased her around the internet. While I finally got my money back, so many others are not this lucky! More of us need to share our stories. People need to know that commissioning Ash is a bad idea. We need to stop being scared of her fans and hurting her feelings. She may have nice art and be popular, but not saying anything in public seems to be allowing this behaviour. She has run away with hundreds (maybe thousands?) of dollars, and continues to do nothing to right her wrongs but rather make it worse! Hopefully one day this will end. I hope that she can change her ways, own up and make up for her mistakes and complete any overdue art/refund people. It will take some time but she has dug this hole and continues to to this very day! You can only be supportive and forgiving for so long before enough is enough.
  22. Mar. 13th, 2012 at 9:23 AM ariakitty WHO: Vani/Vanimute/Vanilla Kitsune WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/vani/ WHAT: Two icon commissions, cost $24 (The total was actually $25.03 because she requested that I cover the paypal fees. I sent $26 just so the number would be even. I am aware that you're not supposed to pay extra to cover the fees but at the time I didn't know this.) WHEN: Payment sent March 21, 2010 Proof of payment. PROOF: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1284224/ Journal where commissions were offered. (March 21, 2010) EXPLAIN: I commissioned Vani for two icons in March 2010. In the journal she does state that she wouldn't be getting to these specific commissions until May. So I did not expect to see anything until the summer/fall of that year. There was really no concise list of her current commission queue, but in the journal where she offered these commissions she made it seem like she didn't have that many to do. Around December 2010 she posted her commission queue: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1953643 I kicked myself when I saw how massive her queue was, had I known she owed that many commissions I wouldn’t have commissioned her in the first place. A year goes by and I figure it's time to contact her and inquire about the status of my commission. I tried to contact her through FA on June 28, 2011. The note was never read. So on September 19 I sent her an email, I never received a reply. (I can provide screens of the email and the note but I wasn't sure if that was necessary.) Her tumblr is active and she has a new DA page with new art posted: http://stripesandteeth.tumblr.com/ http://maplemutesandtea.tumblr.com/ (not as active) http://www.stripes-and-teeth.deviantart.com/ I don't really know how much of it is commission work and how much is personal work. I didn't start to worry until I saw a question that she answered on her tumblr about why she left DA and FA. On September 23 I sent her a note through her maplemutesandtea tumblr and I did receive a reply. I responded back telling her I'd be happy to wait for the art as long as communication between us was good. Needless to say, I did not get a response to my second note. (I would provide proof of that but tumblr doesn't keep a record of sent 'asks'.) February, 29 I decided to try to contact her again through tumblr. I forgot to take a screen of it before I sent it off. But I had asked her how things were going and if she needed refs. I figured after almost 2 years she probably didn't have my character refs anymore. She has not responded to that note. On March 11 she posted to her tumblr offering more commissions. I’m a little disappointed. She has a queue of 50+ commissions that she hasn’t made good on, yet she’s taking on more work. I'm glad to see that she won't accept payment until the commission is finished but... What about the rest of us? Vani is a talented artist and I really hate to see her dig herself into such a deep hole. I didn't want to make an A_B entry about anyone, let alone Vani. She took on more work than she could handle and I know she's very stressed about it. But I wish she would communicate with me. I am patient and I am willing to wait quite a while as long as the artist stays in touch. I sincerely hope this can be marked as resolved someday.
  23. Mar. 9th, 2012 at 2:02 AM heathermasanon I need a little bit of etiquette advice. Over a year ago I commissioned an artist on Gaia for a painted, full body couple piece. I paid half ($80) upon the delivery of a rough sketch, with the agreement that I would pay the other half after she got the flat colours for the second character down, and have only received one completed part of the commission (one character, the other still in a sketch state. I was never asked to send the second half of the payment during my correspondence with her). Since then I have not been able to get in contact with the artist, despite numerous attempts on my part. They've clearly been around, and are using the completed part of my commission as an art example, stating that it's a finished commission. They're even using it as an icon for their deviantart account. Now, I've long since given up on attempting to get in contact with the artist, since it's fully clear they're ignoring me and I don't know what else I can do, but my question is this: Since I technically paid for this half finished commission (her price for one painted full body was $80), and since she's using it as an example for further commissions, do I have the right to use the image? It just feels really weird to me. It can stand alone as a single character piece, but I know it isn't, and it technically wasn't what I commissioned her for. I do like what has been finished, and would like to include it in my art references for the character. I just feel like it might be weird. :/ [edit] So at the advice of commenters, here is the full beware. WHO chatelain (Gaia)/chambrae (deviantart) WHAT A full-body painted piece of my two characters WHEN February 20, 2011 - Present PROOF Paypal receipt (I was wrong, it was $85... her current prices are listed at $80.) Her art shop, where she is clearly displaying the image as both an art example and a link-back button. When I sent the first payment/received the prelimenary sketch What I've received so far The last contact I have had with her. DeviantArt note I sent her, with proof that she has read it but has not responded. Unfortunately, Gaia seems to have deleted my sent folder (I don't use it very much, haha), so I don't have any proof of any other messages I have sent her. She has also posted a dA journal, updated her Gaia shop, and even finished another commission in the mean time. I would just like either the other have of my commission or the commission closed. Any correspondance at all would be welcome, really... I sent her an e-mail notifying her I would be posting about her here, and also mentioned that once we have resolved the issue I'll mark it as such.

I had commissioned Carn for a very complex art doll of my character Iktomi (see icon for reference) and she completed him 3 days later in his full glory. Not only is she very fast, but is an absolute angel and a dear heart. Fabulous to work with, she double boxes her work. Her talent and kind heart definitely go far, but her time was just remarkable. I've been handling Iki now for a bit today and he's fully poseable right down to his wings! If anyone ever wants a character turned into a doll like him, I would highly recommend her. <3 inkstainedrat Mar. 7th, 2012 12:37 pm (local) 1. Definitely check her out. nekona Mar. 7th, 2012 10:57 pm (local) 1. Name of the person you recommend: Zenia 2. She will make sure you are happy with every detail and is generally just a pleasure to work with. :) The turn around on my last piece was something like 3 days I think. She doesn't trade quality for speed either so no worries on that count. She did an excellent job on both pieces! On the Minerva commission I didn't give her too many details on the Byakhee mount, and it seems she went and looked up some more details on her own. I can't recommend her enough, I know I'll be going back to her when I need some more art done. For the curious, here are the two pieces I commissioned, though be forewarned she does have some properly flagged NSFW art in her profile so be careful when looking at work. My girlfriend commissioned Elmenora for a traditional sketch of two of our OCs in October of 2011. (Original Sketch seen here in the lower right hand corner: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6864256/ ) As adorable as the rough sketch was I had to get it finished. Her charge to finish the sketch traditionally was very reasonable and she was a sweetheart to work with. Communication was very good and turn around time was excellent, even including two segments of shipping time. A scan of the completed image can be found here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7528984/. It is safe for work. The finished water color painting is far more vibrant than the scan, I believe her scanner ate some of the color. All together Elmenora was a pleasure to work with and I would definitely do business with her again. zin103 Mar. 20th, 2012 06:51 pm (local) 1. rebornedphoenix 2. http://rebornedphoenix.deviantart.com/ 3. Can't remember exact date but about a month for the commission to be done to start to finish 4. Details: She may take a long time because she got life issue but if she is late, she will always admit she wrong and say sorry. Not like many artist who left me hanging for 6 month without even saying sorry <_< One of her best skill is following direction, paying attention to detail, and actually listening to what people want. So I don't need to give her a bunch of direction but only a few guideline and she won't disappoint me ever. I commission her like 3 time and I am always blown away. I think she one of the few who take time to read what I give her. She also draw everything from nude, guy, girl, yaoi, etc which is also hard to find.
  25. Feb. 28th, 2012 at 10:16 PM jazminbunni WHO: Zillford, an artist located on Furaffinty and InkBunny as well. I am not certain if he is active anywhere else. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/zillford / http://inkbunny.net/Zillford WHERE: Located on FA at http://furaffinity.net/user/zillford , this is the primary site of business that I encounter him at. WHAT: A commission for a Line Art, digital image piece. Priced at $60 to be paid ahead of time. Initially paid for in advance, the status of the art agreed upon for commission is unknown and I am currently awaiting a response from the artist, the current date that this was posted on at Artist Beware is February 28th, 2012, and the date that the commission was paid for was December 12th, 2011. What I would like to do is find a way to open up communication with Zillford and work things out to get this commission completed, and I put this all behind me, and possibly have the picture paid for to be coloured by him later. I don't wish to burn any bridges here. WHEN: Commission was agreed upon, and then paid for on December 12th, 2011. Each Link in the above section logs the time when they were posted before each link. Final email I have sent to the artist was on February 20th, 2012. A rough time line of the situation from initial conversation, to 1st payment (or agreement of trade) to signs of trouble. I will defend the fact there is a possibility the reply email was deleted. If it was I appologize, but I assume nothing bad or any worry by this point, I sent this email in excited curiosity. Third Inquery (January 23rd, 1:49PM EST, 2012): http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii166/jazminbunni/Artist%20Beware%20Links/Third_Inquery_January23rd.jpg Third Inquery Response (January 23rd, 1:52PM EST, 2012): http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii166/jazminbunni/Artist%20Beware%20Links/Third_Inquery_January23rd_Response.jpg Last Inquery (February 20th, 2:39PM EST, 2012): http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii166/jazminbunni/Artist%20Beware%20Links/Latest_Inquery_Feb20th_2012.jpg - With the last email I sent to Zill, I sent to both email accounts I could find, and have yet to recieve a response from him. All activity on his account located on FA seems to have stopped as well, his latest submission was on January 24th, 2:15PM, 2012, his last favourite was on January 19th, 8:51 AM, 2012, and his last journal was posted on January 10th, 2012 01:16 PM. There also appears to be at least one other having similar concern based on comments they have posted on Zillford's wall. This may dissappear due to any new comments pushing them out of sight. I will screen cap it and can post if it is requested. EXPLAIN: I commissioned Zillford back on the 12th of December, and agreed to pay in advance for a digital line art piece. I paid $60 up front to make sure I had a spot on his commission line. Near the end of December I curiously sent Zillford an email asking if any progress had been made or not. I could not find a reply back to it in any box of my email account so I cannot verify if there was a response to this particular email. I made a followup note to him on FA and Zillford explained that my commission details possibly were misplaced, but he had found them and was going to put me in front on the production line. I made a third note asking how things were going on January 23rd, and his response was that it was one of the day's must-do pictures. My last email sent to Zillford asking about the status of the commission was on February 20th, 70 days from the day after payment was verified until the last email was sent. It appears that Zillford is inactive on FA currently. I would just like to have it completed and hopefully work out something to have it coloured later on. I am not mad at the artist, but I am concerned by the lack of communication. **UPDATE [April 3rd, 2012]: ** Another member on FA had found out that the artist Zillford had made an account on DeviantArt, and was being active on that site, and for what it appears, has abandoned his FA page. URL to DeviantArt found here: http://zillford.deviantart.com/ Screenshot of Zillford's FA Wall, showing comment linking to new DA Page (April 3rd, 2012 1:04AM EST): http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii166/jazminbunni/Artist%20Beware%20Links/Zilford_Moved_To_DA.png Screenshot of my comment on Zillford's new DA wall asking for a status request regarding the commission. I cannot say that that are from others regarding art or other issues, or just simply wall spammers. But do note the censoring. I will watch to see if my comment disappears or not.* I have sent a second inquery email regarding the commission to both his business emails as well as noting him on FA. I will be sending a copy of this inquery email to his DA in a day if there has been no response. Once again, I remain hopeful that the situation can be salvaged. ^_^ ** END UPDATE [April 3rd, 2012] ** ** EXTRA UPDATE [April 3rd, 2012] ** No sooner had I posted my first update to this Beware journal and hit refresh on Zillford's DeviantArt page, my comment had been hidden by the page owner (Zillford).
