About Me

  1. In the same boat - this fella took almost $800 in payments from me, and I didn't see ANY progress. Eventually saw the "closing shop, contact me for a refund" posts and did as instructed - I said I'd be fine with a repayment plan. And then... he disappeared. Went to my first furry since Covid earlier this year, and knowing I don't have a partial to look forward to, or the backup funds to commission someone else, really sapped my joy. I don't have a loving relationship with my body, and was deeply looking forward to having a "skin" I was happy in. I'm so sorry for everyone else who got fucked over like this 😞
  2. May 22, 2014 https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/768650.html WHO: Sickboy, Pales, horrorprince.deviantart.com, http://whorrorprince.tumblr.com/ WHERE: deviantart.com, virtualpetlist.com, and furry-paws.com WHAT: All digital art. The absolute best I can do for screenshot proof is provide the forum post where I discovered him on virtualpetlist.com (see: http://www.virtualpetlist.com/threads/sim-artist-looking-for-work-again.15631/) and on another forum that is now defunct. I recognized him because he went by his alternative name Pales on the defunct forum and I addressed him as Pales which prompted him to message me. I do have those messages but they're text based since they were backed up from the forum software. I never thought I'd have to use them as evidence. Eventually we switched to IM and screenshots will reflect that. WHEN: I’m copy and pasting what I wrote on another forum as I’ve tried to reword this several times and it’s just too hard for me emotionally. So I hope this suffices. Sorry if it’s too long.. I paid in advance for items in June with a deadline of July. Sickboy didn't meet the deadlines, however, he did give excuses which I was empathetic of. We extended deadlines several times. I often had to ask him for progress. Here is a conversation we exchanged over IM where I asked him about my items and how he addressed my questions. Although that conversation is dated October, I did ask him two to three times before October, once in July and a separate time in September. The week of September is the time he delivered 7 items and said he would complete the rest that week. I trusted he would, and again paid in advance that week for more items. He has not completed any items since September or that payment. I again asked him in January to which I received similar responses to the first conversation. Nearly a week later, I discovered that Sickboy had been anonymously mentioning my commission to others, complaining about how I had asked him about my commission, which urged me to cease working with Sickboy altogether. Sickboy explained recently that his tablet broke, that he was depressed over the passing of a friend's cat, etc. I am understanding, but I had been waiting for my commission for almost more than six months before these events transpired. Sickboy has told me an item takes him twenty to thirty minutes to complete. We originally agreed that he would complete the art, but circumstances changed, I requested that I be refunded, to which he agreed. This correspondence was through DeviantART. He told me he would refund me sometime in the future and when he had the money he'd message me through VPL. I was okay with this. I asked him how he was, just a general "how are you" and he blocked me from DeviantART. There is absolutely no reason why I was blocked, which leads me to believe I won't be receiving my money back, nor will I be hearing from Sickboy again. PROOF: Agreement: the first one: http://i.imgur.com/wm4eA49.png (6/27) & the second: http://i.imgur.com/Do0MtgY.png (9/8) Proof of payment: http://i.imgur.com/iFHOzfs.png & http://i.imgur.com/6NMJOaI.png Proof of him agreeing to finish the overdue art on 9/8: http://i.imgur.com/4k3hUdo.png (he did not finish them that night) Evidence of him cursing at me: http://pastebin.com/qpc2EEv4 Due to him accusing me of editing this pastebin, I am posting a screenshot of how it appears in my logs: http://i.imgur.com/7NK29Jv.png - I am sorry that it's formatted in a block of text. My logs apparently bugged out and I don't want to edit it to prove the point that they weren't touched. EXPLAIN: I’ve done everything I could to ask for my money back. Despite his promises to do so (as seen in his responses on my forum thread) he is now lying to others saying he doesn’t owe me any money http://comments.deviantart.com/1/449033043/3447744659 I’ve tried everything. I don’t know what else to do. I was scammed out of a lot of money. So much money that I’m not comfortable even saying it. That is why I’ve blacked it out. It’s embarrassing. Another thing I’d like to advise to potential buyers is that this person has a Terms of Service that isn’t very airtight and very contradictory. This has led me to the realization that the art he did do I will need to replace. So on top of the money I was scammed out of, I will also need to replace all the art he actually did to. I came to this realization based on his terms: http://sickboyart.co.nf/tos.php I did not have these terms laid out in front of me when I was commissioning the seller. I don’t feel comfortable that I’m required to credit him to use the art he did for me because it may lead to others commissioning him and rendering a similar experience. http://i.imgur.com/sRPGvEc.png To me, his terms are also very confusing and legally unfriendly. All efforts to sign over his work to me have went ignored. Edit: Please read: The problem with the Artist's TOS is NOT solely the credit but instead the legal loopholes and problems that may be faced with the rights of the work and refund policy. I was advised to get the work replaced because of the confusing terms. I do not have a problem with crediting artists so long my order is completed. The reason why the TOS is being mentioned is so that people are aware of all his terms before ordering. I was not I have personally made the decision to get the art he did do replaced because I disagree with these terms. Again I provide them here so potential consumers are aware. These terms didn't exist when I made my order.
  3. Undelivered Commission I do realize I have been waiting for 6 and a half years for this suit. I have been trying to be understanding and patient with Clementine about this commission. However, after this long of a time period, her lack of communication, her every changing replies, and numerous excuses I have decided to move forward with this post. Below is a timeline of the communication between myself and Clementine and also her boyfriend the CFO. Back in November 2013 Clementine was having a black Friday (artistic freedom with limits) sale and I decided to buy it. (I believe the original post was on furbuy, but not 100% sure) The commission was for a full suit for $1280, with a deposit of $576 I sent the deposit to her with a money order within a few days (because if i pay with PayPal I need to add 5% according to her TOS....which is a violation of PayPal, however that's not what I'm concerned about) I was under the impression from her ad on furbuy that I would pay the rest once it was completed, so I waited. April 22 2014, I receive an email asking about the rest of the payment, and I replied that I thought I was supposed to pay when it was done and before it shipped. September 13 2014 (yes 5 months later) I receive another email telling me she does not work on anything until the payment is in full. This is when the excuses start, her first reason is work is super slow until they sell their house. We go back and forth for a little bit about paying and I send her money orders in early October for the balance ($704) All during October 2014 she sketches up some designs and sends them over to me and we decide on one Mid October she tells me she hasn't received the money orders and I end up having to call and get them stopped and reversed which took quite a while. During November 2014 I had a huge expense (over $5500) and told her I had to hold off paying the rest until it got sorted out. We went back and forth on emails for a little bit and that's the time she started getting disrespectful to me saying how she has bills that are way past due. She ends up getting angry with me and tells me she may cancel my commission and it is on hold "indefinitely" she also tells me that she has used my whole deposit to buy materials. I ask for a refund at this point, and she tells me that there is no refunds and the deposit is non refundable ( I also would like to point out she has not asked me to sign any contract at this point) She ends up blocking me on facebook in December, so I am no longer able to message her. She instead has her boyfriend (the CFO of her company) emails me and says he will conduct business with me from this point forward. December 24th The CFO tells me that I need to make the remaining checks payable to him personally, and I refuse. I told him that my business is not with him it is with Clementine and i will make the checks payable to either her or make them out to fruitsuit creations. He then tells me I can make them payable to Clementine. December 29th 2014 I sign a contract for the remaining balance Since the contract was signed I mailed the payments as follows Jan 15th 2015 mailed $200 ($100 plus $100 credit) - it was received on Jan 21st -- see below for paid in full email Feb 23rd 2015 mailed $100 - it was received on Feb 28th -- see below for paid in full email March I had a few extra bills and had to use the $100 credit from Jan -- see below for paid in full email April 14th 2015 mailed $200 - received on April 19th -- see below for paid in full email May 1st 2015 mailed $204 (the balance) - received on May 8th 2015 (paid in full) and was told I was moved to the "working queue" Clementine sends a newsletter out 4 months later with her working queue and I am not on it, on the list is 2 heads, one partial, 3 on hold (with the commission names). She tells me there was some confusion and she will update it. She does not. October 14 2016 (yes a year later) She tells me she is finishing up 2 heads and I'm a few spots down the line. Jan 13 2017 she tells me there are six in front of me, 2 of which are just heads **April 2017 more excuses that she has several breakdowns a week and it's hard to concentrate and work on commissions. April of 2017 is when something odd happens.....there is another person commissioning her for a rush suit, I'm not sure if I can mention names, so I won't but there is another artist beware about Clementine from this person. The odd thing is that they paid for this nearly 2 years after mine was paid off, but she was sending WIP pics to this person and I have yet to even be told my true place in line. April 2017 she tells me my place is "one less then last time I told you" **July 2017 more excuses of bad side effects from medication, mobile and cognitive Impairment, horribly depressed , separation anxiety, hysterical crying spells 3-5 times a day [Verified by staff. Lots of medical information.] July 8th 2017 she tells me "i believe there are 3 or 4 in front of you" **September 2017 more excuses of her injuring her shoulder September 2017 She gets mad at me for asking where I am in line saying that I've been waiting for a long time, she tells me that there are people waiting longer, and I signed a contract that has no completion dates. Dec 11th 2018 (another year later) she tells me "trying to get this done so I can move on" **January 2019 more excuses of her cat being sick, and not having a place to live with her workshop May 29th 2019 after 100 excuses from her I am told "Thank you so much for your incredible patience! I do wholeheartedly promise that I will make your wait worth it!" **August 2019 more excuses of her Mom being sick (not posting conversation due to her privacy on her mothers health issues) Dec 15th 2019 after more excuses I am told "I really can't thank you enough for your patience.. and I promise I will go above and beyond to make it up to you, and everyone else I've let down.." May 16th 2020 After asking about my place in line yet again, I am told "i believe you are 6th in line."....I then send her screenshots from 3 years prior of her telling me that there are 3 or 4 in front of me. she tells me she must be looking at the wrong copy and will get back to me. _________________________________________________________________ I feel that I have been beyond patient with her, I can be sympathetic to what people are going through, or if they have things happen in their life that they need to just stop for a little bit (which she did have a few which I did not include in here due to the privacy of her family) However, with whatever you are going though mentally or physically and still traveling to many conventions and fursuiting while injured instead of working on your obligations, or even keeping me informed about anything that is going on in 6 and a half years, doesn't seem like a good way to conduct business. Waiting 6.5 YEARS from ordering or 5 years from it being paid in full with her story ever changing about where I am in her line, and excuse after excuse, (which I found another post with the same issues) has gotten me to this point of frustration where I feel I need to let others know. Especially since she has taken other commissions AFTER mine and has worked on them before mine. Clementine has shown me that she doesn't seem interested in working on my suit by not letting me know anything about it, and the things she has told me she contradicts herself many times. For example, about what she has bought for my suit (she tells me she didn't buy anything, then she tells me she has the fur from a previous project, then she tells me she used all my deposit for supplies) another example is my place in line. I'm not quite sure if there is any bookkeeping in where she works on things, but she doesn't seem organized at all about what she is working on. There should be an exact answer to that question, I am not sure why I can't get a straight answer from her on that. She has not posted any updates on her working queue or anything of that sort in a few years, so I am not even sure she has one. I had asked a few times early on for a refund which was refused, I even had said if she is unable to work on it at all that's fine, I can just get a refund and either do it myself or get it elsewhere, I have asked for a transfer to another person and that was refused, she seems to be banking on the contract saying is does not have any completion dates, however that doesn't give anyone the right to take money and not deliver a product ever, and I think 6 and a half years is way beyond the time limit to wait for something like this. I feel that I have been very lenient with her and tried to compromise but her excuse after excuse has led me to make this post. Along with her lack of communication in her work order. In the 6.5 years there has been a ton of emails and messages so I couldn't put them all so forgive me for such a long post. Please think twice before commissioning anyone, and feel free to reach out to those who have commissioned a person in the past to ask about their experiences. I was willing in the past to work with her in the past on this problem asking her what she needs from me in order to get her working on projects, (I even sent her a link to an industrial sewing machine for a good price because she was complaining about her needing a new one), but her lack of communication and concern about this commission has led me to believe that she does not intend to provide me with a product. I am however still willing to accept a refund and turn this post to resolved, if she is willing to refund my payments.
  4. sailorpawz is a deviantart creator that frequently hosts contests where users can draw her characters for money, da points, or custom pieces. In Feburary 2018, I decided to enter one of these contests, after seeing her advertise it on Furry Amino. It was a contest to see who could design her a brand new character, after she gave a few examples of breeds, colors and aesthetics she'd like incorporated. After a month after the due-date and origionally listed 'judging day', I contacted her via Furry Amino to discuss the situation, as she had deactivated her deviantart account for a few days at this point. She explained she was going to reactivate and announce the winners, which she did soon after. She then mentioned that she couldn't pay up, then redacted and instead said she would need to wait to pay the winners, which I said I would be willing to wait after she mentioned she wanted to choose my design as the top pick. It was a few back-and-forths between us before she was gone for good. I would check in on her from time to time, asking her about how things were going, talking about life, etc. so we could remain on good terms. However, one day she had suddenly deleted her furry amino account, and I have not heard from her since July of 2018. It has been over a year since the announcement of the design contest. Do not participate in her contests unless you want to get nothing in return if you win. Our Furry Amino chats have been posted below, I am redacting any personal information for the sake of the both of us. There were two separate chats--the first one in December, she suddenly left, but still had her account live. The second one, she left when she ultimately terminated her account for some reason. She has not attempted to reach out to me on any platforms, nor respond to my several invoices on paypal.
  5. I would have been finished at the "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pissed with you" line. And then the snappy "do you even still have my commission info" and hugely disrespectful tone after that too... Artists are human, we forget and get busy. OP accepted no money, they had no obligation to meet the loose deadline mentioned. The fact that the client was so aggressive and hostile from you simply forgetting is a massive red flag imo. I've quite literally never had a client get pissed at me for forgetting/taking a long time, and I have adhd so that happens frequently. You deserve to be respected and talked to like a human, not like a dog or a machine. Beware well warranted, I would never work for someone with this attitude.
  6. Hello, With a good amount of disappointment I am writing up my experience with rapgod/Mirthfulmaws/miraclekind/culledcrows. I commissioned Mirth for 6 character stills for my youtube channel in December 2021, and received them in about a month. I was very impressed and loved the art so I commissioned them again on February 4th, 2022. I ordered 5 more, with a total of $75. Since then, I have received one of the stills, and that was sent to me on March 2nd, 2022. I have not received an update since then. I messaged a check in every 1-2 months, and received a response that I would get an update soon. They gave me their commission specific discord account and I messaged them on May 25th. I never received a response there or on their main account since April 22nd, 2022. It extra sucks because I've been putting off videos until this set was complete 😕 Also, their trello hasn’t been updated since May 3rd, 2022. And they have been taking new commissions and ychs on furaffinity. I will try and file a chargeback, but I unfortunately sent it with paypal’s friends & family because it wasn’t the first time commissioning this artist. I have contacted the staff team on the Furry Nexus Discord server and they are handling it on their side as far as I'm aware. I figured I'd make this post, Mirth's list is medium length and I don't want others to go through this.
  7. TLDR: I Paid for a commission I never received Back in mid 2017 I came across a post on Furry Amino from CanineVomit offering animated icon commissions. Interested, I contact them and we work out the details, with the payment being made on July 16, 2017. Fast forward maybe a few months and the end up announcing that they were leaving Furry Amino and tell their commissioners to email them (I don't have any screenshots from Amino as when they deleted their account their portion of the chat dialog was deleted as well). I do so and never get a response. After some time passes, I ended up finding them on Instagram and re-establishing contact there. After a bit of panic due to lost contact everything seems fine. More time passes and I hear nothing further from them again, and the same thing happens. They respond, everything's fine, but THIS time this is the last I hear back from them. I attempt a few more times to message them on Instagram after a while of not hearing anything but they never respond. Eventually they also end leaving Instagram like they did Furry Amino but without leaving any contact info for commissioners (They did leave their account up with the name "doggydeadd" for a bit but completely deleted it shortly after). I find them on DeviantArt and, like with Instagram, I attempt to contact them again. After a few attempts, they deactivate their account without even responding.
  8. This beware is about an artist going by Delta, Deltarune, or Rabbitmonster. They deleted their discord account after abandoning their trade after partial payment. The trade was for 2 emotes, and Delta completed 1 emote before deleting their account and stopping all communication with me. They had received my half of the trade at full original size right before the communication stopped. On 5/24/2019, a user named Delta initiated a trade with me after finding my post in the Furry Nexus discord server about wanting to trade some art for a few emojis. (Image is my post in the Furry Nexus channel) They have since deleted their discord account, so this is a bit more difficult. If I need to include anything extra to help with this beware because of it, please let me know. Every screenshot included is our chat from start to finish, with nothing skipped. (Can show message overlap on screenshots if needed) Delta DM'd me to talk about the trade and show examples of their art. I gave them my offer of 1 fullbody sketch for 2 small emotes by them and they accepted. We exchanged more information and they linked me their trello, which wasn't working but they never gave me a working link. We finished exchanging characters and they changed their order to the character Deltarune, which is the same character in their Deviantart gallery above. I sent my WIP of my side of the trade, pretty much finished except for the T-Shirt design, while we were deciding on one. It was a small WIP and not the full-size file. On 5/27, the same day as the above screenshot, they sent the first of 2 the two emojis. I responded 1 day later expressing my approval, and then sent over my full size file of my trade half 2 days later when I finished it. After they received my full size trade, they expressed that they were making a server and they were busy, but would get to it soon. After this, I had no further contact with them for 2 months, when they responded to say they were in Florida and thanked me for reminding them. That was the last I had heard of them, as they deleted their discord account shortly after this. At the time I would have been fine to cancel the trade where it stood (1 emote for 1 colored/shaded fullbody sketch) if Delta had communicated with me what was going on, but by deleting their account it makes me feel that they just did the trade to throw a quick emote at me and bail with my art as soon as I sent it. I am mostly upset about my art being taken before the conclusion of the trade more than anything. I would consider the situation resolved if Delta communicated to me and completed the second owed emote, or some other form of art.
  9. On October 6, 2017, I commissioned art fro Badcoyote during his Meatober Stream. It was a commission in which me and another person (known as Charrwolf) split the price for a two person image. Included is record of us discussing the piece, me paying my share on paypal, and a confirmation email from Badcoyote. In the confirmation email, he states that the work would be completed in November. But then he reported publicly on twitter that he ended up in the hospital Nov 1, 2017 and was there through Nov 6, 2017. This news primed me to be forgiving of delays, because obviously it was a huge crisis. It got to December, but then on Dec 5, 2017 Badcoyote (and his partner Lobo) publicly reported that their home was caught up in the California fires. Which was heart wrenching to hear and I knew it would mean that the piece would be in limbo for a while until they could get their lives settled. I mean, it would be insane to assume otherwise and I was alright with that. While I was aware he was streaming again by Jan 1, 2018, he later indicated on Jan 10th, 2018 that he was still homeless due to the fire. On Feb 16, 2018, Badcoyote opened up for more commissions in a stream. I admit, I didn't see anything wrong with this at the time as I imagined he would surely still be in financial distress and honestly trusted him to get to my commission as soon as he was able to. On Mar 14, 2018, Badcoyote opened up for more commissions in a stream again. During this stream, I had asked his partner Lobo about the commission in private chat and was told it was in the process of being worked on and I would hear more soon. (I had failed to screen capture this as I still trusted them and simply accepted the answer given). Then on Apr 2, 2018, Badcoyote further revealed publicly that he had been dealing with further medical issues which had taken precedence. Public announcements revealed that these issues continued through much of April. Obliviously, I could not argue with this as health is important. Finally, on May 1, 2018, Badcoyote provided the sketches for the commission and asked for feedback. Which I provided on May 2nd and he responded again on May 3rd. (note: the second picture also includes an email on May 4th, 2019, asking for an update, which he never responded to). At this point, I thought "Awesome, he hasn't forgotten me and is still working on this. No worries then." And, regretfully, was content to give him the benefit of more time. So when he had another stream on May 22, 2018 where he took more commissions, I thought nothing of it because I "knew" he was working on it. Then June comes around and more public announcements of medical emergencies. So, again, I give him leeway because like....that is terrible luck. September comes along and Badcoyote is having a month of streaming. I will admit the commission had slipped my mind at this point between a busy summer, returning to grad school, and my birthday coming up (also in September). Towards the end of the month of streaming, I remember it though and ask his partner Lobo again about it in stream private chat. He insists it is almost done and will be released in the upcoming Meatober stream in October. Figuring it was just another month, I accepted this (but again didn't think to screen shot it). On Oct 15, 2018, he publicly announces that due to medical issues with his dog and new jobs for both him and Lobo, the meatober fest would be delayed until after the election in November. Deciding that I would be able to wait till then, I said nothing (plus, like, his dog was hurt :( . I'm not a monster.) In a late Nov 2018 stream (however, not the Meatober stream), I asked his partner Lobo again about the commission and again was told it would be ready soon and would come with the Meatober stream, but did not say when it would be. At this point, I was growing frustrated, but I did not know what options I had available as it was well past the 180 days for Paypal and I didn't really have any friends in the furry community who I could ask for advice. This was also the first time I was having an issue with an artist I commissioned. So I just bit my tongue and accepted it, hoping it would be "coming soon" as he promised. Through Dec 2018, he continued to pump out finished works from the streams throughout 2018 but gave no news regarding the 2017 commission in question. He even held another stream, taking more commissions, on Dec 15th 2018. This continues into 2019 with another stream and taking more commissions on Mar 15, 2019. Again I asked his partner about the commission and was told it would be out by Apr or May. Not knowing what else to do, I again accept this answer. On May 3rd, 2019, Badcoyote announces he will be slowing down to work on grinding out commissions. This brings us to May 4th, 2019 when I emailed him to check for an update (and hoping that the email would jog his memory about the piece I was told repeatedly was "almost ready")[previously included]. Getting no answer, I message him on twitter on May 6th as I was unsure if his email was still accurate. He responds promptly and promises it will be done around May 22nd (give or take 3 days). "Sounds great" I think and set my concern aside, especially since I noticed on Furaffinity that he stated he was taking no new commissions until he got caught up. May 27th comes by and, getting home from work, it suddenly strikes me that I hadn't heard from him. So I ask for another update, unaware I was catching him in a stream. Now this news disappointed me, but I interpreted it (I would later realize mistakenly) that it would be done sometime in June and I went to bed figuring I would consider what to do (if anything) in the morning. The next morning is when I remembered that he had claimed he would take no new commissions until he was caught up. Frustrated and angry over the fact that again he was telling me it would be "coming soon" all while he was doing yet more streams. I asked some new friends in the furry community what to do and they told me to go to Paypal and try to get a refund, even if it resulted in shutting down both of our paypal accounts (due to the commission being a sexual piece in nature, which violates the Paypal terms of service). I was worried this was a bit extreme. At this point I remembered I had the discord info of Charrwolf (the person I shared the commission with) and asked for his advice on this issue. He advised a more moderate approach by publicly bringing it up in the next stream chat. I stated exactly what Charrwolf advised in the stream that evening. But it was deleted before I could even screenshot it. His partner Lobo then chastised me in private chat. Which, ok, thinking back on it. maybe it was a bit out of line, given it was a charity stream. but the commission in question was part of a charity stream from over 1 year and a half ago, so it seemed reasonable. (Following is the conversation with Lobo) Badcoyote then contacts me on Twitter and, in re-reading the messages, I realized (as stated earlier) that in my frustration I had misinterpreted what he said as meaning it would be "done sometime in june" when what he said was that he was putting off working on it till June (which isn't better, but means I was in the wrong to bring it up in stream). The following is the conversation we had. During the conversation, he states that there are others ahead of me with older commissions. When I ask about it, he deflects saying he won't talk about them. Frustrated again, but feeling bad for my misunderstanding, I sit back to wait and see if he delivers. Badcoyote holds another stream in June where he takes more commissions. So on June 20th, 2019, I ask for an update. In his refusal to provide an update on the commission, he does imply that he had at least 27 commissions from 2017 or older (based on his previous insistence that he could not prioritize me over older commissions). Again he states it is coming soon with a 2 week deadline if I leave him alone to work. I do so, though not entirely out of my free will as I had my own health crisis in July and August. In August, he again publicly blames job issues for delays in commission completions for the previous month. On Sept 6, 2019, he opens a stream to take free sketches. With my own life back in order, I asked for another update today (Sept 14,2018 at 9:03 am CST), to which he has given no response at this time (11:33pm CST). My instincts told me to give him time to respond, but my friends have urged me to post this to warn others. Seeing as giving him time has earned me no results, I have followed their advice. I hope no one else will have to deal with this. Beware Badcoyote / CritterCanvas. Note: I don't know if I'm out of line for commenting on what occurred throughout the 2 year time span especially since I didn't include images to prove that occurred. I have evidence of most of it (except where I specifically state I don't), but did not include it as I worried it would be regarded as violating the restriction against personal info, even though it was publicly posted. So I summarized it to give explanation to why I had nothing in evidence for such a long period of time and why I kept giving him time to work despite how long it was overdue.
  10. Regarding fursuit care instructions, I can offer up a few things: Washing/Cleaning -Faux fur is safe to put in the wash, but I would turn the suit inside-out first. This will give you access to the digitigrade padding, which may allow you to remove it (If you do remove it, take notes/pictures of what you removed from where, and maybe also mark the pieces with a fabric marker so that you can put them back together in the right place). -Always wash your suit in cold water. -A delicate detergent is generally ideal, but your mileage may vary. (Sometimes, carpet cleaner is the only thing that works.) Some detergents, delicate or not, don't interact well with some furs. If you have concerns and have some of the fur available fur repairs, test it on a scrap piece before using it on your suit. -If you use a washing machine, use a delicate cycle. Also put your suit into a laundry bag to prevent it from getting caught on anything. Put your paws, hand and foot, into pillow cases to keep them from getting any weird stains onto anything else. -If you're hand-washing, your tub is your friend and you can use it for soaking. Drying -Fans are helpful. Very helpful. -Do not use heat for drying. It will melt the fur. -While a lot of folks will hang up their suits to dry, the weight of the damp fur can cause stretching at the shoulders. At Con Care -Dryer sheets are super useful for quickly drying out your head and paws. Scented ones can also help combat odors. -Disinfecting sprays (water and rubbing alcohol) are your friend and will help keep your suit fresh between wears. Keep the spray away from anything airbrushed or electronic on your suit. You may also need to keep it away from the eyes, depending on how they've been made. -If you haven't, invest in some UnderArmor and a balaclava to help keep moisture away from the suit whenever possible. -Take frequent breaks and put your health at a priority over anyone else's idea of magic. Travel -Have some kind of tote for travel. Some folks have things like footlockers. Others have plastic totes. I use a hard-shell suitcase. Hope that helps with some of the confusion around fursuit care. Sorry I can't help with any of the other issues!
  11. Gosh, the seams on the body suit are just so strangely placed.. Hm. At any rate, I came here to offer a suggestion about the tail problem. I have a tail of similar length and size on one of my personal suits and it's sewn directly into the suit. A tail of that size should cause no problem on the body suit and it shouldn't stretch the fur over time. It looks pretty light! You should also be able to wash it in a machine or tub while it's attached. For drying tho, I would suggest getting a fan not only just for the body suit but also a dedicated fan for just the tail as the tail will take much longer to dry than the bodysuit since the tail is stuffed. Otherwise there should be 0 issues here. So see what you can do about getting someone to sew it directly into the hole (or whatever the attachment thing they did is) where it goes into. You can keep the belt loops on the tail and use a belt to help keep the tail secure and transfer whatever weight it does have onto your own waist vs the bodysuit-- but you probably won't need to use a belt tbh. Just an extra measure you could take. I hope this helps and wasn't too confusing! If you have questions, feel free to reply and Ill try my best to help.
  12. Erika Grothe has been an infamous name among Facebook furry groups for years due to her very long and sordid track record of scamming. Google 'Erika Grothe beware' and you'll see what I mean. I'm so sorry you got caught up in her latest grift
  13. All I can say is Oof I heard about Erika YEARS ago on Furry FB groups. She was a real show stopper. Did you pay her already and do CashApp? I got scammed because I used cashapp. It's NOT secure. and they DO NOT side with anyone. Once the money is gone it's gone and they don't care.
  14. Nov. 7th, 2011 at 9:21 AM crssafox WHO: FuziBuni WHERE: http://fursuitauctions.livejournal.com/2166964.html (original post is screen capped in case of deletion or editing) WHAT: A large remnant of golden coyote faux fur - when received, it had a very heavy distinctly animal smell to it. WHEN: Early October (currently ongoing) PROOF: I got no reply after this email, so I posted a comment in the original LJ post, since I'd seen she'd been active on LJ and FA, hoping she'd get that. I still got no response, so I sent another e-mail. EXPLAIN: I bought a large remnant of faux fur from close to retail price from FuziBuni earlier in October, with the intent of using it to make tails for sale. October is usually incredibly busy for me sales-wise, and I'm always getting asked for wolf tails, so when I saw FuziBuni was selling some fabric I had been eyeballing over at I'm Stuffed, I decided to help her clear out her closet and make a little extra cash. When I received the box, immediately upon opening there was a heavy animal odor. Upon inspection, the odor was coming from the fabric itself. I let the fabric sit outside on my patio table for a while to air out, and later asked both my husband and my roommate if they could detect the odor as well, since I sometimes have a sensitive nose and I wanted to be sure it wasn't something that just I could smell. They agreed there was definitely an animal scent, so I made attempts at cleaning the fur, including washing in a side-loading washing machine (twice), dousing with Nature's Miracle cat formula, air-drying in the dryer, and letting it hang outdoors to try and air out there. It still maintains the smell. I e-mailed FuziBuni after all of my attempts to remove the odor, but didn't receive a reply. The next day I posted a comment in the original fursuit_auctions thread to notify her that I'd sent her an e-mail, and still got no reply. Finally, I sent her a second e-mail and told her that if I heard nothing back, I would be opening a PayPal dispute, and finally heard back from her. She claimed to have no idea how the scent could have gotten onto the fabric, and suggested it may have been sprayed by a cat while in transit. (I had her ship it to my public address, at a shipping store that receives packages for me so they don't sit outside, so unless a cat got into a postal warehouse or onto a truck, I don't see how this would have been possible.) I replied to let her know that, because of the odor, I feel the fabric is not usable for me, since my intent had been to create new-for-sale items with it. I told her I was open to various options to work this out, including sending it back if she'd refund the $40 (the total less what she paid for shipping) so she could try re-selling it, or perhaps a partial refund in which I would keep the fabric but use it on something else that would not be sold, most likely a dog pillow. Truth be told, the fur itself is in nice condition despite the smell, so if someone were to use it on a personal project or for something not being sold as a brand new item, it might be okay. So while I would have preferred the $40 refund, I would have worked something else out, too. In response, I was told that she didn't have the money to do any kind of a refund, and that she would have to sell other items in order to send me any money. She also wondered if the smell could have been from the plastic aging funny. I let her know that the odor was distinctly animal, and that I needed some kind of resolution by November 4 or I would have to open a PayPal dispute due to the time constraints. I never heard from FuziBuni again after that, despite her continuing to be active online. Finally, on the evening of the 4th, I opened a PayPal dispute under the premise that the item received was not as described - there had been no disclosure of the heavy animal smell in the original listing. As of yet, she has not replied via PayPal's resolution center, nor has she sent any e-mails. It would appear my requests for resolution are just being ignored. At this point, the only resolution I want is a full refund, including what I initially paid for shipping, and to return the fabric to FuziBuni for her to deal with as she sees fit. I not only wasted my time during my busiest month in an effort to salvage the fabric, I've also lost revenue I could have earned had I just bought the fabric brand new in the first place, as my biggest window for selling the wolf tails I'd planned to make has passed since Halloween has come and gone. I understand that there was a minor risk involved when buying fur second-hand from someone that states they own animals. However, not only do I own animals, but I've also purchased from others that own animals before, and have never had this kind of a problem. "I own animals" doesn't necessarily mean that the fabric is going to contain an odor - had it been disclosed from the beginning that this fabric had an animal smell to it, I never would have purchased it, most certainly not for the like-new price. I feel I did my best to work things out with her at this point, but I really can't afford to donate money to someone in exchange for a large piece of fabric I can't even use. Edit: As of 2:28, FuziBuni has initiated a refund via PayPal and it is set to clear on the 14th. Once it clears I will send the fur back to her, and edit this post as well as notify the mods of resolution. Edit 11/17/11: The refund cleared via PayPal on Monday. I boxed the fur back up to return to FuziBuni, and it was sent out via postal service with delivery confirmation yesterday morning. Edit 11/22/11: My delivery confirmation reflects that the box was delivered yesterday, so the return is complete and I'm considering this matter to be resolved. I would urge others to use caution when dealing with Fuzibuni; I had absolutely zero direct communication from her from the time that I initiated the dispute, to the time the refund was sent and cleared, save for the comment she made immediately after this post went through. I'm glad that other folks have received furs from her in good condition - I really wish that she'd been open and communicated with me instead of ignoring attempts to work things out outside of a dispute.
  15. Back on June 27, 2019 I commissioned Nakooma for a predesigned fursuit head, the cost of the head was $200 and the extra $5 was for any Paypal fees (later on I gifted them $20 due to them saying in a post on their profile that they really needed it after someone forced a refund, I dont really care about the $20 they can keep it). From June to October I was given excuse after excuse as to why there were delays. Last I received any messages back from them was October 17, 2019 where they had promised progress pictures, which I never was sent. Since November 20, 2019 to now I have messaged them with no answer, during this time I know they were talking with ppl on their Furry amino (which is now deleted) and had completed a couple commissions that were started after taking mine. Nakooma said they started working on the fursuit head but I'm not sure if this is true due to no progress pictures ever being sent. Neither my bank or Paypal can help me due to me taking to long to getting around to the issue and only suggestion I got were to "directly contact merchant for a refund", I had life stuff going on that distracted me from getting to this sooner though I wish I could get my money back it's much more important to warn ppl to stay away. Nakooma supposedly had life stuff going on back before June through November (last I heard) from what they told me but if there was too much going on they should've just declined the commission instead of taking mine to then complete other commissions and then completely ghost me. By now I have already left the DM I was in with them guessing that they'll never respond or they would never give my money back even if they did see my messages. I just wanna put this all behind me but make others aware.

A+++ Will accept commissions from again ;) The absolute best point was when they encouraged me to rest after I mentioned being a day behind due to illness. mmyesidosay Jun. 20th, 2011 08:52 am (local) Vekke (had to delete previous comment due to having the wrong link in there X( ) 1. She had an injured wrist (which she let me know about before I placed the commission, and still got it out in great time. Ordered earlier in the month, and waited in a queue. It was very short, considering how much work she had, and she was so polite and sweet by apologizing for the wait, when it really wasn't bad in any manner. 4. My frist ref sheet~ :D Based on a picture or two that I gave her, and maybe a short written description, she nailed Aunburian's look perfectly. I was taken aback by how perfectly she'd gotten my gryphonchica to look! So fast too, perhaps literally over night and it was done. And the artist is an absolute sweetheart to boot. Ive never had fun having quick, tiny chats with an artist like I did with her. Especially from such an incredibly talented artist, as they can come across as a bit intimidating at times, she was just amazing, and by the end I just wanted to give her a hug. haha http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5949168 unicorn_magic Jun. 21st, 2011 04:47 pm (local) hunter_san/weavermage 1. hunter_san/weavermage 2. I rarely commission other artists, because usually when I want something panned out on a canvas, I do it myself. However, I'm too busy with commissions atm to really produce something nice for myself. So I asked PurpleKecleon to do a Pokemon-themed picture for me. Waited for about a month, but the wait was worth it (I think she had a fairly large list anyway). Anywho, the picture she made for me was just eye-candy in all aspects. I actually found myself drawn towards the fire and the water more in the image then the characters themselves. Expensive commission, but worth every penny. Plus, she's very nice to boot. :) Picture can be found here(WARNING: NSFW): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5910646/ straychowchow Jun. 23rd, 2011 03:21 am (local) SoulsPoison 1. 17. May. 26th, 2011 at 1:08 AM yujoben Who: Tigsie (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/tigsie) Where: Furry Weekend Atlanta 2011 - Artist Alley What: I commissioned a traditional-colored badge and a Pokemon-themed water-color ACEO card. Paid IN FULL with cash, and given a hand-written receipt (ACEO card was done on separate receipt, and beside the matter at hand). When: Furry Weekend Atlanta 2011 (March 19th, 2011) - May 25th, 2011 After commissioning this artist back in March, I waited a bit and was actually prepared to wait for a good solid few months since I thought her art seemed decent enough, and well worth the wait. The problems with her actually started when she posted a list of commissions that she was either working on, or had finished, and she needed the home address' of the people that commissioned them so she could send them out. She put my Pokemon ACEO card on that list. Meaning, that even though she had the address previously, she seemed to have forgotten the ACEO belonged to me, along with the badge of my character. I did what she asked in her public journal, and sent her a private note telling her my home address and reminding her it went along with the badge I ordered. ...No reply... A few weeks went by, she posted a couple more journals, and the ACEO remained on the list (now remember, the problem is actually with the badge, but these details are just to prove her bad communication). I sent her another message, and just left it at that, hoping that she'd get it eventually. Also, she normally posts what she has done for each commission so far, and mine was marked as "inked" for the longest time. Once again, I had no problem with her taking her time on it, since I wanted it to be good. My friends had gone to Elliot's (May 20th - 22nd), which I knew Tigsie would be there because she had mentioned it in her latest journal, but didn't think to ask them to check up on anything for myself. I got a call during the 22nd after the con was over from one of my friends that he had seen Tigsie, and my badge was done, and she was using it as a display piece. Now, I'm sort of sceptical here... What artist doesn't let her customer know she's finished the product and doesn't tell them she's using it as a display/example piece? Either way, I brushed it off. A couple days later (May 25th) she posts her new batch of badges onto her FA account, and mine was included as the third one from the left on the top row. Immediately, I noticed it looked off. She had completely forgotten several important (simple) details that I ALWAYS include on my character (green-tipped mohawk and thick distinctive beard), and I've never had to correct other artists on because they couldn't be blamed on "different styles" (also, it looked nothing like a bear, and more like a weasel or canine). Seeing as she STILL hasn't replied to any of the previous messages I sent her, I posted a comment publicly on the actual submission that she ruined the design, to which she FINALLY replied to me, telling me to note her privately on how she did it wrong. I noted her, as I was asked, and told what she had gotten wrong (but now that I think about it, I also failed to mention other details she missed- including how she drew headphones on him even though at the con I asked her to not include the headphones in one of the three ref pics I sent her). I get a reply back, straight up telling me she will refund the money, without even giving me another option to go by. I honestly just wanted it corrected (even though I know it's a bit difficult, being a traditional piece and not digital), and when I mentioned it she told me she'd be leaving the country soon and wouldn't be able to get to it. Not wanting to go through the same merry-go-round of insecurity, I told her to just issue me a refund as she promised (and even mentioned for her to take the fees since I paid in full with cash at the convention, and not originally through paypal). Her answer to the last message was that she would "trace" the original image to do it over before she left on vacation (meaning she'd rush through it and hope I'd be happy with it), and I simply told her to forget it and just to handle my refund as she offered previously. Totally ignoring my request to not stick me with the paypal fees, she had done it anyway, leaving me missing $1.37. I know it doesn't seem like much, but it's only fair that she take the fees herself since it was HER mistake and I'm not getting anything out of it (she had warned me that if I got the refund I would not receive the badge). When I noted her back, telling her to replace the money missing and pay the additional fee so I'd have the exact $30 paid for the badge, she plain refused me and told me she was making me pay shipping for the ACEO card I commissioned. She NEVER mentioned any additional shipping fees, and even told me when I asked her at the convention that they were covered in the base price. She ended it by telling me that the conversation would go no further, she would ship out my ACEO in the morning, and that she was still keeping my badge to use for examples (though I asked her in a previous note to NOT do that or to at least remove the name since I do not want myself associated with her any further). I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior from an artist, and I hope any who reads this will take caution. SCREENSHOTS: pics.livejournal.com/yujoben/pic/0000h21h NOTES AND COMMENTS pics.livejournal.com/yujoben/pic/0000fb4f RECEIPT References Given: www.furaffinity.net/view/4872393/ www.furaffinity.net/view/5089389/ Finished Badge: pics.livejournal.com/yujoben/pic/0000gchy EDIT: I understand that my messages seemed bitchy. They certainly were not meant that way until she made me pay the fees on paypal for her mistake. I can understand her deducting money for the work done if I cancelled for my own reasons, but it was HER fault, she didn't follow the references and ignored all tips I gave her when I commissioned her originally. Also, because a lot of people seem to be missing this tidbit of info, I paid IN CASH, full $30, so if she was offering me a full refund, there is no reason to stick me with fees. Please remember the problem here that I'm trying to point out is not centered on her inability to follow references, but her horrible customer service because of bad communication and forcing me to lose money (no matter how big or small the amount) when I am not getting anything from it (for those that say I have the scan of the badge- it is tiny, and I don't want it to begin with). It was her idea first to refund me, not mine, and when I told her I wanted it fixed she offered me two other options which did not appeal. Options are meant to be CHOSEN, so don't hate me because I picked one in the end. The first option was for me to wait another few months while she went on vacation, and I really was afraid of dealing with this whole situation again. It is very nerve-wracking to just be completely snubbed by a person you have paid money to for a service. The other option was a tracing (whether it looked professional or not), and she planned on doing a rush job in a couple of days before leaving on yet another vacation, and I don't want something rushed and uncared for. So, I took the refund in the end. Any of you who are tight on money as it is and splurged on ONE thing for yourself at a convention would expect it done right. I was forward with her, and treated her the way I want my commissioners to treat me. I hate it when someone says anything along the lines of "Um...well...it's really neat... There's just a couple details off...but it's fine. I like it!" If done enough, I become upset with them and just tell them to inform me straight-up what I need to fix, because I WILL do my best to correct it. To sum this up, I didn't think of her as a lesser person, an underling, or an art slave. I think being blunt with people is a high form of respect. Anything less, I feel I am doing the person wrong. EDIT (2/09/2012): Tigsie has surprisingly refunded the amount, and I am pretty surprised that she remembered after all of this. With all of this past us, I do wish to apologize to everyone and especially her. I was a grade-a dick, but I had my reasons. Also, at the time I was pretty new to LJ and was replying to a lot of folks that weren't even talking to me.
  18. Nov. 6th, 2012 at 5:57 PM WHO: SoulEevee99 on Deviantart WHERE: http://souleevee99.deviantart.com/ WHAT: Stole an icon template from me and has been altering and selling on DeviantArt for DA points. WHEN: Just discovered today, apparently they started October 13th of this year PROOF: Their journal entry asking for commissions with icons (Screencap in case of deletion) Original icons by me on my FurAffinity Overlay showing trace EXPLAIN: LATEST UPDATE: Followed onto FA and sent more harassing notes from Grovyle I do a lot of commissions on Chicken Smoothie, a virtual pet game. I began selling "dango icons" like the ones linked to my FurAffinity on the Proof section in October of 2010 for collectible pets on CS (Link to thread. Date is off since I edited the post, but according to my records I started selling them in October.) I stopped selling them last year in favor of new products. While browsing around the art shops on CS, I found SoulEevee99's art commission thread, which linked to the DA journal above full of stolen icons that were paid for in DA Points. A lot of their friends are using these icons not knowing they paid for stolen material. I confronted the artist and not only did they deny their theft, their SO is threatening to report me for harassment. The comment thread is capped here, I am Rainbow-Smashed. (The replies occurred while I was typing this post) I admit my initial post was rather threatening, I should have been more polite and I fully acknowledge my tone was harsh. This is the first time I've had my art sold and I'm pretty upset. Even though it may be for DA points and not real money, it's still disappointing. I have filed reports both on Chicken Smoothie and DeviantArt. Their art commission thread on CS has been locked but I have yet to hear back from DA. The SO and the artist continue to deny their theft and I've ceased communication after my last reply with sources. I will let DA handle it and hope they rule in my favor. UPDATES POST-APPROVAL: So this is more recent events that have occurred since before this entry got approved. It's been a wacky whirlwind lemme tell ya. The thief's friends jumped on me for trying to get my work taken down and defended their friend. Even with SoulEevee's friends trying to pick fights with me, I ignored them and decided to wait until DA's ruling. DA got back to me on my report and told me to file a DMCA due to "complications in the case." (I'm assuming the complication is that I use different usernames in different places but it beats me tbh.) I sent in a DMCA takedown notice to their violations department on November 7th. As of this entry's approval and this edit (November 11th) the stolen art remains up and the thief has hidden comments from me, their friends defending SoulEevee, and a friend of mine trying to convince the thief's SO that my work was indeed stolen. All that's left is comments in Czech that I don't understand. I foolishly did not cap all the comments. But they did decide to put up this journal yelling at people and vaguely discussing my accusations. At this point all I can do is sigh and hope DA complies with my takedown notice. EDITS (NOVEMBER 12th, 2011): SoulEevee has decided to harass me not only on DA but Chicken Smoothie as well. DA Comments (link to thread. It's on my page and I will not be hiding these.) DA Note Chicken Smoothie post They have also provided a blog post to try and prove that I am a thief. Blog post dates can be altered and the "stolen icon" is really a painted over version of Wildstorm's icon on Chicken Smoothie. Blog post (with original icon) Post with Wildstorm's icon Overlay Image data of "original" icon proves it was made on November 12th, 2012, not 2009. (Big big thank you to !) Sora-kun is not only my furry name but my FurAffinity page, active since 2006. I am slightly disturbed by the coincidence. They also made this journal post and linked me to it on my profile comments to further harass me. I have reported this user for harassment on Chicken Smoothie and DA and have asked them to leave me alone, a request they have not complied with as they and their boyfriend, Grovyle, keep trying to pick a fight with me and continue to smear me on their own pages. As of November 13th, I have ceased communication with both Grovyle (the boyfriend) and SoulEevee. NOVEMBER 14TH UPDATE: Even after my request to stop using my stolen template, SoulEevee has still been using it. SoulEevee, using Grovyle as a messenger, is now claiming a third party gave them the icons, claimed the work as their own, and gave SoulEevee permission to use them. Since SoulEevee has yet to provide a name for this third party (which I would expect they would offer up as soon as they were caught) I strongly believe this is also another lie to try and avoid taking responsibility for their actions. My DMCA notice on DA hasn't gone through (all icons are still there) or have been replied to. My ticket on Chicken Smoothie has been picked up and I am working with Chicken Smoothie staff to build a harassment case. I'm fairly certain they can't do anything about the offsite harassment but I included that in my ticket (as well as this AB) to give background as to how deep this goes. UPDATE 2 ELECTRIC BOOGALOO: My harassment ticket was responded to. I was told to simply block SoulEevee when it seems like Grovyle is doing the harassment. Grovyle has started not only sending me messages, but has been harassing another member of this comm as well as leaving messages with their friends on FA. To top it all off, I got the passive aggressive non-apology to end all passive aggressive non-apologies (comment thread on DA.) This is just salt in the wounds and my nerves are already very VERY frayed. I've said my piece and blocked them. I will block them on any other accounts they try to contact me with. I'm beyond fed up. To all who are getting harassing messages from Grovyle; please report them and accept my deepest apologies for their behavior. NOVEMBER 15TH: DeviantART has denied my DMCA takedown notice. A lawsuit isn't worth it at all (due to international problems) so I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding DA's denial of my DMCA. NOVEMBER 18TH: Grovyle has sent me three notes on FA. Not only that, they started watching me! Note 1 Note 2 Note 3 (Links to this. Dead link.)
  19. On July 24th 2018, I messaged Leone on Furry Amino asking if he had anymore slots left since he's an artist that I've commissioned several times before with no issue. So, I assumed that there would be no problems this time either and that all should go well, and I decided on a $57 half-body commission. An invoice was sent to me the next day (25th) and paid in full. I followed up with another message on August 10th asking if the commission could be changed to a different character if he hadn't started on it yet, which was OK'd and I provided a reference for the new character I wanted it to be of. Some messages are left out due to irrelevancy, since we were on friendly terms and would chit-chat about things unrelated to my commission in-between things. A character name is also censored due to them (the character) no longer belonging to or being associated with me. This is where the gaps in communication began. I didn't hear from him again until a month later (September 18th) but was aware of IRL issues that he had been experiencing at the time, so I didn't mind being patient and waiting as long as he needed. After September 18th, I didn't hear from him again until October 2nd and apologized in case a username change on my end had caused any confusion. He stated having more issues, so I didn't want to cause him any additional stress and was content to continue waiting. After October, I didn't hear from him again until November 9 and was made aware of a post that pertained to his IRL happenings and why the delays were happening. So, again, I was content to wait as long as needed and didn't hear from him again until January of this year when I was the one to reach out and message him on the 4th & 7th. I was becoming less active on Amino at this current time, so our conversation switched over to Twitter DMs after this point. I was told that my commission had been completed and that the file had simply been misplaced, although I never received or saw any WIPs of it prior to this whereas I had been sent WIPs every other time I've commissioned him. I tried to remain as understanding as possible and politely asked for a refund. After speaking with him on January 7th & 8th, I then heard from him on the 15th and was given a partial refund since he stated being unable to deliver the finished commission to me due to problems with his computer. Was also told that he was having issues with misplacing completed commissions in general. I was happy to receive an update and partial refund of my commission, but then another large gap ensued where there was no further communication from him until March. After March, I didn't hear from him until three months later (this past) June when I was the one to message him asking for another update. I mentioned that I wouldn't mind commissioning him again sometime regardless of the issues concerning this particular transaction, since I do love his work and had always had pleasant experiences working with him prior to this. Details were discussed, and I decided that I would be fine with a newer character of mine being drawn rather than receiving the remainder of my refund. I was updated on June 19th and told that he would be beginning work on it and also saw that he had simultaneously posted an opening for more slots on Amino. I was more hopeful that my commission would be completed this time considering that I did receive a sketch, but this hasn't been the case seeing as he's completed everyone else's commissions for the batch he just took mid-June excluding mine, which is something that I've been waiting on for almost a year now. I've received no further updates since July 8th and am somewhat frustrated with this and feel guilty about pressing for more updates, because I'm a very quiet and anxious person. I still have yet to receive the finished commission or any updated WIPs beyond the sketch.
  20. - Dec 5th: I was approached by Lenny about a secondlife texture commission, All went well and the commission was accepted, parts were discussed and I sent off an invoice. - Dec 6th: Invoice was paid. I also provided an estimated deadline of Dec 15th - Dec 13th: I found parts that I thought would suit the character better and provided links for the commissioner to view in order to make a decision, The commissioner decided on the new part I suggested and I started work on it swiftly afterwards. Lenny started to make me uncomfortable asking about me texturing NSFW parts that my TOS states I do not work on. This can be seen within the full SL convo screenshot. During this time Lenny also stated he was going to “RIP” some textures from an object, On secondlife this term is used when a user illegally steals a texture using a third party program, I do NOT condone this in any way shape or form, This made me very uncomfortable as I was now left wondering if I could trust Lenny not to RIP and resell my own work once completed.Shortly after we hit some bumps in terms of things not being correct on the textures, I swiftly made fixes to his request however he started to ask for changes that were not shown on his reference sheet so it became hard for me to follow as I wasn’t made aware of this during the commission order. I suggested in the future Lenny should perhaps consider getting an updated reference sheet or create one with one of the MANY free art bases in the Furry community. Sometime later Lenny asked me if my textures would be fullperm, This isn’t something usually provided with Secondlife texture commissions and this made me rather uncomfortable due to him previously talking about having to "rip" a texture. In light of all the prior issues and the uncomfortable feelings in the air I decided that it would simply be for the best for me to provide a full refund immediately. Lenny responded with aggression stating I had refused their commission because of their own personal IRL issues, this wasn’t the case at all. I simply refunded due to being VERY uncomfortable working with Lenny. I later found out that the texture he was going to “rip” came as free to use. Regarldess it was still an NSFW body part that I had expressed I do not work with. My choice to refund was still solid and I did not wish to continue working with Lenny any longer, Lenny continued to push for me to work on his commission and to cancel the refund this lead to me having to repeatedly express that I would not work on this commission any longer, Eventually he gave up. - Dec 20th: Lenny apologized, I accepted this apology. Lenny expressed that the refund was still pending which was due to the way paypal refunds as the funds came out of my account minutes after I provided the refund, I sent Lenny links to Paypal’s FAQ so he understood why it was still pending. We then began talking about him re-commissioning me for his SL textures which I accepted as it was coming up to Christmas and I didn’t want there to be any bad blood and I assumed the prior happenings were just a one time thing and wouldn’t happen again. We decided to use a Free to use base in order to map out their markings better in order for a swifter completion of the second life mod, This ref wasn’t anything spectacular it was simply made for me to be able to visualize exactly where and what shape the markings needed to be, Eventually Lenny decided on one of the marking layouts I had created and I went ahead with sending out a second invoice. Lenny proceeded to make some really awkward joke about just getting out of jail and being -2912 in his bank? Which was very odd but I just laughed it off as he stated it was a joke and he paid the invoice shortly after. I sent out some wips of the body and immediately hit some bumps, He expressed things needed to be fixed, I swiftly worked on those and provided more wips, which again Lenny expressed they were wrong and I fixed them. At this point I was growing frustrated as we had JUST made a make shift reference for me to follow that Lenny himself had approved before I started working. Regardless of the issues I continued working on the second life mod and making constant fixes, I just wanted to complete the commission to the best of my ability in order to move on from this experience. I finished the secondlife mod on the 20th, The same day that Lenny had commissioned me, He said that everything looked good, I sent over his SL mod and he seemed pleased with his purchase. Shortly after he asked for some color codes which I provided. An hour later Lenny messaged me again, Asking for a screenshot of my Fullperm texture, Something that I had already expressed that I do NOT provide. His reasoning is he wanted someone else to work on something and they needed it, I declined and stated they’d simply need his color code in order for those parts to match. - Dec 23rd&25th: Lenny asked about textures for three different parts, Nothing came of this and no commissions were taken in the result of these questions. Conversation screencaps. Warning! The images are large. https://imgur.com/a/NTWBgRs - Jan 17th: Lenny messaged me again asking for fixes to his mod, I declined as I do not offer free edits after the commission has been confirmed for over 3 days, It had been nearly 4weeks since he had accepted his finished commission. Lenny replied with an emoji and then blocked me. I tired to reply to his emoji BUT I couldn’t as I had been blocked. - March 7th: Lenny contacted me on Secondlife asking for help with his neck and also asked about an additional commission. I expressed that I would be more than happy to help with his issues to the best of my ability however I was not interested in doing business with him beyond that. I was met with an extremely unexpected outburst of rage, regardless of how I had just been treated I kept a cool, professional front and tried to reply however I had been blocked again. I checked FA some time after to see I had a note from Lenny, This note can be seen below. Shortly after I noticed he had posted a journal that I can only assume is about me.
  21. First of all, im sorry for my bad english. I commissioned Rachelfluffy on the 17.07.2015 for some artwork on their Furaffinity, I sent them 20$ for 3 Sketches. I received the first artwork on and waited like a half a year. I still haven't received my artwork or money for unfinished artwork except for the one that they finished, they blocked me from their accounts so I cannot message them anymore. I was very patient and sometimes worried, becouse her journal was sometimes a very depressiv mess. She cleared a lot of journals, coments or any other hints, for her unstable condition. She uploudet the same photo 5 times a week. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/24225506/ . i find out last week, thats spaming and also unallowed on furaffinity. I heard from 2 other persons, that she has stolen from. But i didnt find theyre note again..sorry...no screenshot or evidence, i lost the notes as i cleared my notes. I tryed to talk to her "close friends". One of them didnt know, why she was on her page as a close friend. The other one, sendet me after a long time a message, that i "harasment" her. I tryed years later, to contact her on facebook. But there was the same thing like on furaffinity and skype. just blocked. She didnt wanted to talk. I noted her about the sketch, that the one is for a friends birthday. She wanted to deliver it. but she didnt.. I know, too, thats my english was in the past a really painfully thing to understand. And i had some difficultys to clear me out. But the fact is, I guess, this was my first year in the furry fandome. And i really wanted to help little artists with my comission. But i lost all my trust after this experience. Its about 10$, i know. But this hurted so much, to be cheated. That action really broked my little tiny hearth in the past. I seen month ago, she did it on "trusted artist". She dont deserve it. So, thats why i leak this screenshots. Mod Note: The edited messages are the OP saying the artist's irl name.
  22. Hey just as a heads up, OP. Furry is very active on Facebook. You may still want to watch out to see if the bases are being used. Contacting the mods for the various groups before hand may help.
  23. You say you would have made your changes had the client been nicer but they were nice in the beginning. They pointed out things in a bit of dismay, shocked at what they had received, and upon seeing their response you, Aisha, were deflective of every single concern and had an excuse for every issue pointed out, which lead to the client being rightly flabbergasted and frustrated at how their concerns were brushed off by you. Even if I find their anger off-putting at the end, it was a direct reaction to your attitude. If you genuinely meant to change anything, the very first time the Client pointed out a problem you would have said 'you know what, you're right, I apologize, what can I do to change it?'. You have a lot of different characters in your gallery, none of which says that you are incapable of drawing big hair or big horns, neither of which you even attempted to do, the hair length isn't even remotely in the same ballpark as the provided image. It feels more like you took a sketch from a personal project, slapped tiny horns on it, and tried to claim it was this person's character. You didn't even provide the client a sketch before hand, to ensure you had any of the elements correct, before moving on to the final piece. This is wildly unprofessional, you should be showing your client at least one WIP between every step to ensure you're on the right track, both for yourself and your client. Sometimes, some people's galleries are so full of niche work for commissions, they don't get to draw outside of their niche (see: Furry artists that can draw humans, want to draw humans, but never get commissioned for them so it perpetuates the idea that they 'don't' draw humans). That being said, I probably wouldn't have purchased a commission of the character provided by the Client after looking through your gallery, as you only ever draw one body type. But even that isn't justification for how you treated the client, you took the commission and gave them the impression you were capable of getting at least somewhat close to the body type provided. If I ever get a request I feel I cannot accomplish I tell the client up-front that I don't think I'm the right fit for their commission. It saves myself AND the client, a lot of anguish. I believe in giving the best most accurate product to my clients as I can, and being able to admit when I may not be able to do what a client would like is an important element of respect and consideration for the client that all artists should have.
  24. (My original advice post is located here.) NOTE: Her real name and email haven't been omitted, as they are readily available on her websites. Unfortunately, because the artist and I were on friendly terms, much of the communication for this commission was done verbally at Phoenix Comic Con (PHXCC). However, I'm providing screenshots of the correspondence we had online. I originally discussed a pencil drawn commission with Goldenwolf at PHXCC back in 2017. She told me that She'd have it done by May 2018 (the next PHXCC), but would get it to me sooner if requested. I told her I'd be selling some things after the con, and if I had enough after obligations, I'd confirm the commission and send payment. (Email Discussion) As agreed, I sent payment for the piece with extra for shipping via Paypal on July 7th 2017. I didn't receive confirmation she had gotten the payment, so I nudged her on August 4th. She replied on the 7th with confirmation, making mention that she thought she had already replied to me. When I saw her commission queue posted to FurAffinity (FA) on Feb 5th 2018, I asked why my name appeared to be missing from it (the screenshot was taken recently, after my name had been added). After I pointed this out, she assured me that mine would be finished "this month", which I took to mean February. During February, she also attended Texas Furry Fiesta, where she advertised accepting more commissions on FA and Twitter. On April 16th 2018, I sent an email over with my updated reference (no big design changes, just more examples of his different forms were added on it). On the 17th, she said I was on the "short list" and she'd be getting to mine after a couple of other things. May passed, and on June 10th 2018, I asked for a progress update. On June 26th she emailed over a rough sketch for my approval. She mentioned in the same email that she was suffering from severe depression. I responded requesting a few edits, but because she was my friend and I wanted to be supportive, I tried not make her feel pressured. After I didn't hear back from her on social media, I sent her another email on October 26th 2018. I offered her the option of just refunding me if she was unable to produce my commission in a timely manner, and her response to this is just better just read from her email directly. I waited to post on Artists Beware for advice until after December, because she mentioned in the email that she was hoping to have the piece done by then. Following advice from A_B, I sent an email on February 15th 2018 asking for a refund using the outline provided to me in my advice thread. As of the writing on this, I haven't heard anything back from her. While collecting screenshots for this post, I found her current Terms of Service. (She has never directed me to it, so I'm unsure how it may have changed over time.) I do know, that if I seen this TOS before commissioning her, I wouldn't have, friend or not. (It features an "A**hole Clause", which in and of itself would be a huge nope.) Notable Sections: 1 2 3 I also found that she has a Patreon, which despite her huge backlog, offers sketches to certain tiers. I'm unsure, however, if she's actually provided them. 1 2 I'm not sure what else to add, really. It doesn't currently look like I'll be receiving my commission or a refund. ? 04.14.20 update: UPDATE: 4.18.2020 On 4.14.2020, just hours after the update was added to the post, Goldenwolf sent the client this refund and statement: She had not done work beyond the sketch provided back in June of 2018 The client responded with this invoice and statement Goldenwolf then refunded the client on the 16th of April for the remainder of the commission payment. This issue has now been marked as Resolved.
  25. On 31.01.2019 I contacted ChazThePanwhere over a Furry Marketplace Group on Telegram. She made an offer for a comic she and a friend were working on. The role should be the mascot of a school and thus the main character of the project. She said there would be art, t-shirts and all kind of merch on that comic so the slot would be a bit pricey, but for 700$ I could join, but I had to be fast because anotherone already was interested in the slot. So I agreed to pay for it. She then sent the Invoice via Paypal and I paid roughly 700$ The first days went good, the first pic arrived only 4 days later. (Also she forgot to draw my hair, but that's a minor issue) Next thing came on 20th February And then she took one month to fill it, but she said she was super busy and so I didn't want to be rude and thought it was okay (I know how it is to be busy sometimes). But then things changed. She didn't write me anything over months, so I decided to write her in June. She told me she was in some serious trouble because she doesn't have money anymore and was sick and everything. I said it was ok and wished her well. Next thing again I had to write her because I heared nothing from her. It was 15th September meanwhile and so I decided to drop out of the project. I tried to make her a fair offer, because she already did some art and had some trouble, so I didn't request a full refund. Followed by the picture of the invoice in case she doesn't even remember it. She took it easy and said she couldn't pay it all by now, but she would do in installments and I was really relieved that it would go this easy. I also wrote with her partner (the storywriter of the comic) at this time. I just wanted him to know I wouldn't be part of the Comic anymore and it turned out he didn't even know that ChazThePanwere took money for drawing, she told him she would do it as a sparetime project. This got me a bit uneasy. On 21st September (6 Days later) she then contacted me again and said, that she would not give a refund now, because in her contract she said she will only give refunds if she doesn't make progress in 12 Month. She showed me the phrase and she was right. So I gave her time until today (5th February 2020) to do some more art, but she didn't. So I wrote her a friendly but resolute message that I want my money back or I would take several actions (this Beware being one of them) and gave her two weeks (and again an option to friendly discuss it all out) to send it to my PayPal account and she said she wouldn't send me my money back, but rather rush six more pics and then close the project as done. This is the reason why I decided to write this beware today and not in two weeks as first said. I am more than sure I will never get my money back, but maybe it helps other people to not live through the same thing.
