About Me

  1. I thought the same thing a while back. She has a good style, don't get me wrong, but she's been promising to get a handle on her queue for a couple years now.
  2. Dec. 20th, 2012 at 4:06 PM WHO: Wyebird WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/wyebird/ WHAT: Wyebird posted a journal on FurAffinity where she offered spots in orgy commissions: 1 all-male, 1 all-female, 2 mixed. There were 5 open spots per image available at a cost of $5.00 per spot. The initial post was simply to reserve places for later call for payment. That same day I reserved 1 spot in the all-female orgy for my character Sh'sthress. (initial journal, my booking)WHEN:October 17th, 2011 - initial offering of orgy picture spotsOctober 24th, 2011 - call for payment; payment made via Paypal November 4th, 2011 - first piece started November 20th, 2011 - asked about remaining orgies December 9th, 2011 - first two (all male, first mixed) posted on FurAffinity March 15th, 2012 - Ask for progress on remaining pictures in Wyebird's 'to do' list journal March 17th, 2012 - Wyebird says they'll be done soonMay 7th, 2012 - Wyebird will be starting all-female orgy tomorrow June 20th, 2012 - Wyebird asks for reminders of art owedJune 29th, 2012 - Wyebird posts an updated "to do" list; 2 orgies are on list August 17th, 2012 - Note sent to Wyebird asking for roughly when all-female orgy pic will be finished August 21st, 2012 - Wyebird posts to say auction and crotch shots are next to be done, then older stuff, and to please not send her notes August 21st, 22nd, 23rd - exchange of emails between us in which I ask if she can commit to having this done by the end of September or October and she implies agreement to that. December 20th, 2012 - still no art, so sent another email expressing my unhappiness. UPDATE - April 9th, 2013January 7th, 2013 - emailed again to ask for a response to my email of Dec 20th January 10th, 2013 - Wyebird replies; offers refund January 11th, 2013 - Wybird posts journal offering refund, and a second journal opening for more commissionsJanuary 24th, 27th 2013 - Wyebird posts two journals indicating any refunds will be delayed February 26th, 2013 - Wyebird announces she is disabling FA notes and anyone with art owed to them should email her at her commissions address; I do so. March 26th, 2013 - I send a follow-up email to my email of the 26thApril 9th, 2013 - I comment on a journal post to ask Wyebird if she received my previous two emails.PROOF: October 24th, 2011: Wyebird asked everyone to pay for the spots they've booked. As they do, the journal is updated to show payment status. Payment via Paypal to go to wyebird[underscore]2004[at]hotmail[dot]com (addressed munged to evade bots). I sent payment the same day. (journal 1 of 2, journal 2 of 2, Paypal record) November 4th, 2011: Wyebird says she will begin with the all-male orgy, as she's still waiting on payment from some people in the other ones. (journal) November 20th, 2011: I commented in the payment journal of October 24th to ask for any info on progress; Wyebird replies she still needs to send notes to the delinquents who haven't paid yet. (comment) November 25th, 2011: Wyebird says she has received all payments and she'll try to get them done "real soon". (journal) December 9th, 2011: Wyebird posts the first two completed pictures; the all-male orgy and the first of the mixed orgies (NSFW! all-male orgy pic, NSFW! first mixed orgy pic) March 15-17, 2012: Having not seen anything in a while about these, I looked through Wyebird's journals and galleries in case I'd missed it, and found a "to-do" list journal, so I commented there to ask if there was any progress on the remaining orgies. Wyebird responds to say she's having a struggle with it but hopes to have something done soon. (comment) May 7th, 2012: Wyebird says she'll be starting the all-female orgy tomorrow (i.e., May 8th), she has an idea what to draw and all the references to hand. (journal) June 20th, 2012: Wyebird asks people to remind her if she owes them art, so I comment to remind her of the all-female orgy pic. (journal, my comment) June 29th, 2012: Wyebird posts an updated 'to do' list; the orgies are in the 'planning' stage, though from her post in May, I had the impression they were further along than that. (journal 1 of 2, journal 2 of 2) August 17th-18th, 2012: I noted Wyebird to ask for some idea when the orgy will be completed. Wyebird noted me back the next day to say she hopes to have something "soon". I replied to ask for something more specific than that. (note on 17th, wyebird's reply, my reply to wyebird) August 21st, 2012: Wyebird posts a journal about delays in work, that crotch shots and auction will be done, then older pieces. She also wrote that she doesn't want people to send notes but to comment in her "to do list" journal. (journal) About 2 hours later (going by the time stamps) I read the journal and checked my outgoing notes box; at that time, Wyebird had still not read my note. (unread note dated the 18th) So I told her I would comment in her "to do journal"... (comment in response to most recent journal) ... and I did; repeating the text of my last and as-yet unread note to her, including typographical errors, and adding that I have sent notes to the other people who were part of this commission. If the A_B community deems it relevant, I can screencap and post my notes to them, but I'll need their permission to post their replies. (comment in to-do list journal) I sent her an email to ask for a more definite commitment - end of September, end of October - and her response sort of indicated that she agreed with the proposed times. (contact email, reply) In November - about a month after I thought I would receive this, I noted the other participants via FA to ask if (a) they'd heard anything and (b) would I give them permission to mention them in any potential beware? Chakattailswisher gave me permission; one of the other parties did not, but said they'd been in contact with Wyebird and she was having an art block on the picture, and the third party hasn't answered, so I can only infer they've forgotten about it (FA notes) December 20th, 2012 - As I have still not received the artwork, and it's now been almost 14 months, I emailed Wyebird again to ask for a firm date by which the picture will be done. (my email to her as of today, December 20th) UPDATE - April 9th, 2013 January 7th, 2013: Having not heard anything, I emailed Wyebird again at her commission email address, asking her to respond to my email of the 20th. (follow-up email) January 10th, 2013: Wyebird responds to my email, apologizing for having had to open for yet more commissions, but does not give me a firm date. She does, however, offer me the option of a refund. (Wyebird's reply) January 11th, 2013: Two journals from Wyebird; the first is an offer of refunds to commissioners with outstanding commissions owed to them. (journal) She then opens for more commissions: (journal) January 24th & 27th, 2013: Two journals, three days apart, in which she indicates she will issue refunds to people next month (i.e., February), and message them to let them know. (journal)February 26th, 2013: Wyebird asks everyone who is waiting for art to email her, and announces that she has disabled notes (journal). I emailed her with the details of my commission. (email)March 26th, 2013: Having not heard anything about my commission for another month, I emailed her again, asking her to commit to a specific date by which it will be completed. (email)April 9th, 2013: Another two weeks having gone by without any response, I commented on a journal to ask her if she had received my emails (comment) EXPLANATION/DISCUSSION:I really feel quite silly posting this, because in financial terms I'm potentially out of pocket only $5.00. I had lost track of this until March, in fact, when for other reasons I was going through my PayPal history. However I didn't really start getting concerned until late June when she asked for people to remind her about work she owed. However, she then updated her to-do list a week later, so I thought I'd just keep an eye on things. However, I did start reading some of her back journals and so on, and I noticed a distinct trend. Depression, arm injury, needing money. In May she started offering freebie art, 10 spots per month to start in June. I haven't screen-capped all these journals mainly because they have nothing to do with me other than to demonstrate that she has an incredible workload outstanding, but I have a representative selection I will post at the end, and for any who wish to, they are (as of August 18th) all still present in her FurAffinity account.Briefly, though she still owes considerable art, between the end of June and now she's taken on multiple batches of "crotch shot" commissions, 2-character specials, pin-up commissions and an auction. July 4th specifically, she posted that she was sorry about taking on more commissions when she still owed so many, but she needs to raise money to move, because her current living quarters are stiflingly hot during the day. She is still suffering from art block as well.I hope I don't come across as unreasonable or unsympathetic, but it's been 14 months which strikes me as a little ridiculous. I knew at the time I reserved a spot that these would be simple art - lines and flat colours - and at the per-spot price she wanted, quite appropriate; but by the same token, they shouldn't take all that long to do. I also feel as if by submitting this beware post I'm going to make it just that much harder for her to get out from under. At this point, if she were to tell me she simply can't do it, I'd be just as likely to say "Don't worry about it" and not ask for my money back. However, there are other people involved in this commission as well and I can't speak for them. I have heard back from two of them and they, too, are curious about where this piece is and have asked me to keep them informed. Examples of her taking on further work:June 30th - taking crotch shot commissions July 1st, 4th - taking more crotch shot commissions, apology for taking more commissionsJuly 11th - taking 2-character specials August 1st - taking pin-up commissionsAugust 12th - taking more crotch shot commissions August 14th - auction commissionI do wish to say in closing that Wyebird has been consistently polite and good-natured in our communications back and forth about this commission. However, it has been 14 months since these pieces were offered and paid for; my concern is that this has dragged on for considerably longer than it really ought to have. I would like to think I'm not unreasonable in asking for a rough delivery date - a month, two months - instead of "soon". I hope that she can get her living situation sorted out and her commission backlog reduced, and that she will overcome this challenge and have a successful business as an artist. UPDATE April 9th, 2013At this point I have the feeling I will not receive the art. Moderators, please mark this "abandoned". I do not consider it resolved, but I don't see that I can do much else. Thank you. UPDATE April 30th, 2013I was wrong; the art was delivered April 28th! I consider the matter satisfactorily resolved, and wish Wyebird every future success.
  3. Oct. 25th, 2012 at 11:35 AM namelessimp I read all the rules and got things together as best I could. This is my first (and hopefully only) time posting to livejournal. I blocked out names, and tried to clip and give dates where necessary, please let me know if I need to fix anything else! WHO: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/plum/ and http://tale.deviantart.com/ WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/plum/ through notes from this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3669416/ WHAT: I ordered four $5 icons from this person back on August 15th, they confirmed payment on August 17th WHEN: The payment for those four icons of $20 was sent on August 17th. As an artist, I know sometimes it takes awhile to get artwork done. I left them alone for awhile, but on August 30th I posted a shout on their wall asking them (since I saw they had been unactive on Furaffinity, and had not even read my note right after they confirmed payment) on deviantart how my art was coming along. PROOF: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof1.png - ordering art http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof2.png - order confirmed http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof2A.png - paypal confirmation http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proofnoanswer.png - noticed unchecked note http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof3.png - left a shout on Deviantart just asking, since they hadn't looked at my note -Got a response note from Tale/Plum a few days later saying it would be done in two weeks. I'm not familiar with deviantart, so I accidentally deleted it- http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof5no4.png - sent another note after no word http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof6.png - no answer, left another note, and shout which remain unread and unanswered http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof7.png - no response, but saw activity - Her favorites activity. She has been active after my unsent, unread notes and shouts. So I can only assume she is ignoring me or doesn't care. EXPLAIN: Ordered and paid for art on the 17th of August, it's now the 25th of October and still no progress pictures, and now I have lost contact with the artist. I saw some really cool pixelated icons from Plum on furaffinity and thought they looked really cool! I saw she had done and finished a lot of commissions, so I thought she seemed trustworthy. I checked her deviantart since she has a link in her profile, and everyone seemed pleased with her work time and ethic, so I thought everything would work okay. So I sent her a shout asking if she was open for commissions, and she made that journal. I sent her a note about it(Aug 15), and she responded very quickly (Aug 17) and the payment was sent the same day. I waited for awhile because I know it takes time to get art done since I'm an artist as well. After waiting awhile, and realizing they hadn't been active on furaffinity or even read my last note saying thank you, I decided just to leave a shout on her deviantart page on an account I don't really use, to get her to read my note on FA(Aug 30) but we resumed talking on deviantart. Tale sent me a note a few days later (probably around Sep 1st or 3rd) apologizing and she had two sketched out. I apologize for not having the screenshot, because I clicked delete thinking it was like the "mark as read" feature on Furaffinity, but she said she'd get it done soon. I thanked her for it. I waited and waited, and finally I sent her another note about it since she had not contacted me, showed me the sketches, or updated me. (Sept 25). She replied a few hours later, and promised it in a week. I thanked her, and said I understood. At this point is when I really started to get wary and thought I should just ask for a refund now. But she seemed sweet and apologetic, and had many previous commissioners so I thought to just give her some more time. Two weeks after our agreed week deadline, I sent her another note (Oct 8th). She didn't reply but I saw she was actively favoriting things on deviantart. They were not just pictures, either, but rather lengthy comics that took some time to read. I figure if she had time to read through and favorite long comics that she had time and an obligation to answer a note about a business transaction. So I sent her another note on Oct 16th and also left a shout on her page. By this time, it was too late (past 45 days) to open a dispute on paypal. I sent paypal an email today, asking if I was still able to dispute the transaction and explained what was going on. At this point, I'm just disappointed. I know it's not a large sum of money, but I was going to give those icons as gifts to my friends, and the artist has blown me off. I just don't want anyone else to deal with this. If anyone else has a way to contact her, or to talk to her, please let me know. I see she has many satisfied customers and stuff in real life to deal with, but I don't want to be slanted and taken advantage of for it. It takes a few seconds to send a note explaining, which she has if she's favoriting long comics, or to refund me. I have bought dozens of commissions, and have had very few problems. I'm sad that it had to come to this. But I feel at this point I'm being ripped off and won't get my icons done or my money back. Edit: I received all my money back from paypal. I find it kind of strange she just happened to only have time to respond after the refund (within ten hours of paypal sending me the refund), but things have worked out. I got my refund and I hold no grudge against the artist! She offered to compensate with an icon, which was very nice of her, but I'd rather this whole thing just be behind us. Here are the final notes: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof9.png http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof10.png http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x227/kuraikozo/proof11.png
  4. Sep. 3rd, 2012 at 7:16 PM dripbat WHO: Sinn-ryu (DA), atateatarin (LJ and FA) WHERE: http://pkmncollectors.livejournal.com/10125588.html?thread=310953236#t310953236 I do have a PDF saved of this as well, just in case the post/info is lost. WHAT: A traditional cel painting with scrapbook background. WHEN: Payment sent and commission agreed upon on Aug 30, 2011. Responses had been spotty throughout the whole transaction but contact was lost completely in April 2012. PROOF: EXPLAIN: Honestly everything I thought was going fine other than the spotty response time. I know the artist in question goes to school and everyone has things going on in their life. The post said it could take a few days to a few weeks. Months to a year was not mentioned so I assumed the turn around would be at most a couple months which is why I asked so soon the first time how it was going, though I have waited longer for commissions so I was patient. I periodically asked how it was going on the post, since it says its alright to ask now and then. I had gotten the sketch in November, waited patiently for the final scan. I did finally get a scan of the final image and had been told they just needed to find a background for it and it would be about a week or so for that. That was April 3rd, 2012. Since I was no longer getting responses on the original post I've been poking on LJ note, FA note, DA note, and email(I didn't realize the email address was in the original conversations so I contacted that one last). I tried each site just in case the artist wasn't active on one site but was another. I hope I wasn't being too pushy as I am worried that something might have happened, I don't think this artist would have just poofed for no reason. I don't know what to do at this point. The commission was for a tangible item, not digital so I'm upset I don't have this cel to hang on my wall like originally planned. Though I suppose I did get something. I admit I'm mainly frustrated because the work was done, it just needed to be shipped. Or if it was shipped I'd at least like to know if its on its way or the mail ate it. Also the artist has a "when to contact" schedule here. And there was plenty of room for a response since April in either June or July. I did not find this page until April when I was looking around for an email. Edit: 9/24/12 - I received the cel in the mail today. This has now been resolved.
  5. I apologize in advance for this mess of screenshots and censoring, but I have been having trouble getting in touch with this artist again after he went silent on me for over a year for a commission I paid quite a good amount for. These next images are of us coming to an agreement of what we want, not including the excessive details I went into for the idea as I don't find it all too necessary here. After contacting on that New Year's Eve, he had finally sent a WIP sketch (attached below) and sent another on February. Then, after February 15 of 2021, he went silent with only the second and last WIP he sent me. Ever since then, I had tried messaging and emailing him but to no avail. I still have yet to hear back from him and I have even seen others also have the same issue from him, where he stopped replying completely, yet he also takes some other commissions on the side. Also, something to note is that I have my phone set to Spanish, but I will help include context in the words here. Buzón - Inbox Enviado - Sent Para: - To: Pagada - Paid All months should be similar to the English names besides Enero, which is January Date formats are all MM/DD/YYYY except for the times it's DD/Month/YYYY in some emails and screenshots where the month is clearly in the middle. In addition, I have shared my own IRL name plenty of times, so I had no need to censor mine, only my PayPal email which is a deadname and the artist's last name (and address/phone too, of course).
  6. So around last year September 1st 2021, I commissioned JayNator1 on picarto, I got my first commission seeing they were more then happy to at the time I commissioned another! That was almost a year ago, since then i tried contacting them, they always gave a new story, which I do understand things don't always go the way we want! But going radio silent and deleting comments was not a good sign. Spite that I gave them room to deal with their life issues. I get it some people need a break, but this has been almost a year of "hey sorry I'm sick" I want to believe they didn't intend to scam me, but this is not reasonable . So now i see them on twitter, and they saw my message two days ago with no reply. I'm assuming the worse. As why I was commenting on their page? They didn't respond for months to the note.
  7. May 20, 2014 https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/767370.html WHO: Kit_tric WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kittric/ WHAT: Digital art, specifically character designs. WHEN: This week. PROOF: Better off putting it below. EXPLAIN: I put up a bunch of character designs I only used once to try and make a little extra cash. Kit_tric leaves a message that, as far as I can see, can be read as nothing other than a request to buy one of the designs: https://i.imgur.com/0q84nDu.png I PM him with my Paypal address, and not until over 24 hours later do I get this: https://i.imgur.com/lMiBRIm.png Which kind of seems like being flaky to me, but I guess I just wanted this here unless you get any 'offers' from this person on adoptables. I don't know them and haven't spoken to them before this, so it's not as if it's a friendly leg pull.
  8. May 16, 2014 https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/766036.html EDIT: The money has been refunded, now I'm just waiting on Paypal to approve the refund, but this has been resolved. WHO: Isabella-Price of FA, also has an account Costumes-by-Belle WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/isabellaprice/ WHAT: A Balaclava foam base head for a fursuit. WHEN: Payment was sent on April 5th, with an estimated time of "one to two weeks" As of writing this it is May 16th and I have yet to see a picture. Every time I would ask about the progress the ETA would be moved back, and obviously that deadline would pass every time. PROOF:Here is an image with all of the emails, including dates, as well as the proof of payment http://sta.sh/023ordupo2v5 EXPLAIN: So in late March I inquired about getting a foam head base from Isabella here, and after a week, payment was arranged with an estimated time of completion at one to two weeks. I did say that I wasn't in a huge rush, but I certainly didn't think it would take any more than a month. Well weeks went by with little contact, and only when I myself initiated. After a few weeks I switched from the FA forums to FA itself to speak with her, and she consistently gave me new completely meaningless deadlines. I made it clear that I was running out of time and specifically said at one point that if it could not be completed within the week that I would need a refund. Of course it was NOT completed in that week even though she said it would be. It should be noted that after I looked at her journals I noticed she had a very long queue of both digital art and head bases (and I wasn't even listed in them, I might add). Clearly, she had overbooked herself and should have known very well that it would be impossible to finish my base in one to two weeks. The fact that she omitted this truth to me I find to be a bit insidious. I will not reveal their identity but I did seek out another client to ask if they were having similar issues. It turns out they've been waiting for their base since November! At this point I have opened a paypal dispute to get my money back. I have not gotten any responses from the artist in a few days now but the best thing to make me content would be to just have a quick refund and be on my way. Though the quality of her bases looks to be well above average, don't commission her if you want your base done anytime this year. It seems very clear to me that this artist is quick to take on too much work (and all the money that comes with it) but is very slow to show anything for it.

I organized the commission information in one large note with all the details needed for the art. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n228mpjp6ll4bs9/Commission%20Details.PNG 7/5/2012 Sent $50 payment https://www.dropbox.com/s/onn6hp93kqf3tfa/paypal%20transactions.PNG (this screenshot shows both my payments to her and the refund from her.) 8/9/2012 I am told that the sketch and color blocking is completed and asked if i want to see a WIP which I reply yes https://www.dropbox.com/s/ws91t9u4amgbf8u/sketch%20done.PNG 9/27/2012 I finally receive the WIP I was told was complete on 8/9/2012 I also sent another $50 payment https://www.dropbox.com/s/onn6hp93kqf3tfa/paypal%20transactions.PNG (same link as above, has all the transaction with the artist) https://www.dropbox.com/s/ucua4nluxjy9oa7/sketch.PNG https://www.dropbox.com/s/6lwj317ju5udo8u/sketch.jpg 5/11/2013 "color scheme" update https://www.dropbox.com/s/xy8aaexfi1p8z5v/matsi%20wip.jpg 5/11/2013 Last Contact until April 2nd 2014 when I posted into her shoutbox(she deleted these so I don't have screenshots of them) Here are 3 of the notes I sent to here one every few months asking for updates (since it took nearly 3 months just to get the sketches and because the poor communication I really wanted updated WiP before I sent the final payment because at this point I was already feeling like it was not going to ever be completed and I didn't want to lose even more money on it...) https://www.dropbox.com/s/zoj0h6sglel8gnh/ignored%20note1.PNG https://www.dropbox.com/s/93td92s9i13gpec/ignored%20note2.PNG https://www.dropbox.com/s/yq3jwg5b41en0vs/ignored%20note2%20still%20unread.PNG (you can see in this one that she STILL hasn't even read this note...) https://www.dropbox.com/s/pacvqiexnpcfr8m/ignored%20note3.PNG 4/2/2014 I get a response; stating that I never paid the full amount(I hadn't sent the 3/3 payment because I had no contact and received no updated WIP of the art, which should have been fully colored but not yet shaded... Also that I "never told her that the character had 3 heads and 4 arms" Artist stated she would be sending me a refund sometime within the next month minus time spent on the art, which she claimed was 2 hours(which certainly isnt 2/3 of the ~10 hrs I was charged total for the commission, going by the artists commission prices. Screenshot of her 4 shouts on my page: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lf2hsw8wv90tfhh/FA%20shouts.PNG The refund conversation went as follows... sadly I do not have screenshots of what I posted onto her page because she deleted them every time she replied: Her saying "You never paid the full amount and didn't mention that your char has 3 heads and 4 arms 😕 But I am done here, give me your paypal, I'll send you a refund." Me saying something about how I DID in fact say the character had 3 heads and 4 arms, and you can see that in the screenshots above where she even says something about how she wants to make sure the arms are positioned well.... and I also mentioned that I didn't make the final payment because she was ignoring me and not sending me a WiP where the picture was progressed enough to receive the 3rd payment. Her Saying The last WIP I provided was the main char almost done, atmosphere in, starting on bg. So much for WIP's not happening... Me asking When I will get the refund her saying "Mid of April minus the hours spent on it." Me asking hour many hours that was Her saying "2" 4/23/2014 I receive a "refund" from the artist of 50.56EUR, which is neither the currency the artist lists for what she charges for commission nor what I paid in, the transaction was also sent as a "payment for goods/services". this costed me several dollars in Paypal fees for being "a purchase" AND to convert the currency into USD, so instead of receiving a $70 refund from the $100 I paid, I wind up with $65. (I feel like this was very inappropriate, and that if you accept and list your prices in USD, the refunds should be in USD as well! And to send it in such a way that it charges me fees as if she was buying something from me instead of refunding my payments is nonsense.) https://www.dropbox.com/s/zrpdmno6yrrq5yt/currency.PNG I am happy that I at least got some of my money back, for over a year I thought I would just have no art and no refund...but I feel entitled to the remaining amount refunded and I feel scammed. I am posting this, not expecting to get anything more for me, but to warn others so that they do not have to experience the same thing I did from this artist!
  10. Thank you, I know I will be raising up my prices and currently im Limiting anythingI bring to make sure I can bring them out in a REASONABLE time as well as not flood myself as I did before. I will admit, I had plenty of people come to me harrassing me over the beware site in which I don't appreciate but I have still worked to contuine to fix everything in the best of my capabilities and more. I will say, if it wasnt for close friends helping me organize and talk, I don't think I could do this alone. Im working hard to fix and better myself
  11. While I approved of this previous comment, this is a polite reminder to keep comments business focused. Adiago has had a history of poor behavior since she went by Sevva-Phoenix almost a decade ago, but we don't want to pull away from what happened to OP.
  12. Back in November 2021 (on the 14th specifically), I saw that netcrow had opened for emergency commissions and messaged them to inquire about a 3-panel page since I love their art and was excited to get an opportunity to commission them. Here is the exact tweet of theirs advertising their commissions: It was stated that turnaround times would be "very slow" and I understood that they were dealing with health issues, so I was aware of this ahead of time. However I did not expect to be where I'm at currently, going on 9 months since I commissioned them without having received any proof of my comm being started, with every deadline they have provided being missed and very poor (or lack thereof) communication. I'm not writing this out of malice but to make other clients aware and to hopefully motivate netcrow to work out a better sort of routine or workflow for managing their commissions. Shortly after I messaged them on the 14th, I received a reply stating that my commission had been accepted and we then went over further details: Initially, I was told that that I could expect the first WIP "that week." That week passed without me receiving anything, but it was no big deal to me since I understood everything they were dealing with, and I was content to wait longer. I did not hear from them again until February 10 of this year, when I reached out to give them an updated ref for my OC after being reminded of my comm from seeing them open for another batch of commissions: I received an apology for the wait and was given a new time for when I could expect the first WIP. I absolutely do/still did understand what they were dealing with so again, I was content to wait further but was admittedly excited about being able to lookout for a WIP again. The week after this came and went however, and again, I did not hear anything from them nor did I end up actually receiving one. Several more months passed, and I still did not hear anything from them. I was starting to get concerned at this point so I reached out again on June 18th to inquire about the status of my commission and ask to know where I was at in their queue: What really alarmed me is how netcrow stated that they have "no particular queue," but again, I tried to be optimistic and as understanding as possible. At this time I received another apology and was told that they would try to get my commission that month and "maybe even finish it." To their credit I have seen them posting some finished commissions, but almost every one has been captioned as being "very overdue" or "extremely old" such as the ones below: Between the time of June 19 - August 7 I did not hear from them anytime; it was radio silence again. More recently, I informed some friends and other artists about the situation to ask for advice, which has lead to me now writing this beware and reaching out to them again. On the morning of August 8th, I messaged netcrow again expressing my concerns and requesting that they provide a firm deadline for providing a sketch: At the time of me submitting this beware, I have not heard back yet. Like I've stated, I truly do not mean this out of any sort of malice but simply out of concern and frustration. I wish the absolute best for netcrow with navigating their health issues, but this is not a good way to manage commissions and I'm figuring that other clients of theirs may be in the same or similar positions. I'm a very patient person and do my best to be as polite and understanding as possible, but the lack of communication and lack of a proper queue here have me greatly concerned and anxious as I am out of $320 with not even a sketch to show for it 9 months later. I still do love their art and would love to receive my commission, but the long periods of silence and overall experience have me a bit down :[ I don't wish to come across as a spiteful or mean individual whatsoever.
  13. I preordered two pins of Raver’s characters from Charapins a year ago. Cost me $32 with shipping. He gave me the run around for months after. I even found a post saying that the pins had arrived and I asked there and on Twitter when the pins were getting sent out. I haven’t heard from him since March. I don’t expect my money back and I don’t even want the pins at this point. I know I’m one of many people that Raver has ghosted but I figured I’d share my experience as well. And last message was sent 07/28/21
  14. Welp, apparently my other artist friend who got caught in the same web, actually lost. I personally don't have yet anything because there's still the thing about them talking with the bank, but in the meantime of course I keep receiving emails about the debt and this last one of today, they're literally threatening me to take actions and ask to third party agencies to retrieve the 200€ amount. I'm totally screwed. That's just wonderful.
  15. In April 2021, KidRhinoBoy opened for commissions. A friend of mine and I decided we would get a commission from him. I messaged him on Twitter (seen below) about availability and pricing. We exchanged a few messages regarding prices and what exactly my friend and I would get. We chose to get a single, colored picture from him. Each of us paid $80 to KidRhinoBoy. (I do not have a receipt for my friend but I do have mine). Initially it was going to be a three person picture, but the third person dropped out due to financial reasons. Figures 1-14 PayPal Receipt on my end shown in Figure 15 In late October 2021 I messaged KidRhinoBoy again, discussing a change to the drawing. I thought this would be alright since he hadn't started the drawing yet. Figures 16-17 It should be noted that at this point, KidRhinoBoy had opened and accepted a new round of comissions in late December 2021 / early January 2022. At this point I was starting to think that perhaps my commission had been forgotten about, hence my message about two weeks after he closed. Around this time I also told a friend what was going on. This friend had KidRhinoBoy's Telegram information and relayed what I had said to him. KidRhinoBoy then reached out to me on January 14th. He told me at this time that the sketch would be started some time in the next week or two (Last two weeks of January 2022) Figures 18-20 I would also occasionally reach out to him about his art, not looking for any updates, but just because I thought what he was putting out looked good. In April he messaged me again asking about my commission. He said he would sketch it soon. (It was not made clear to me what soon meant in this case, however) Figures 21-22 In June I reached out again asking to see if there was any update from his end. This time he said he would get me a sketch the next day. Three days after he asks me about the idea again. (To be clear, I did not delete or make invisible any of my messages in Telegram, so I was a little confused why he was asking again) Figure 23 I sent him a reply a little over 4 hours later, but at the time of writing it does not appear that he has read my messages. Figures 24-25 In hindsight it probably wasn't a great idea to change the art idea when I did. I know he also runs his own restaurant/cafe and suits a lot where he lives, so he's certainly busy. I understand that no one can do all things all at once. I'm not sure what to think about the various times I was promised a sketch, perhaps he's tried and wasn't happy with the results, but I genuinely don't know. 16. To rephrase it more clearly in case my ramblings were unclear, I don't send through PayPal but the email connected to the buyer's PayPal account. (The one that PayPal uses to notify them of invoices/payment receipts/ect.) PayPal prefers direct links to the PayPal email for communication in order to verify it was, in fact, the PayPal account holder. (Their logic is that anyone could use a third party social media site and pretend to be someone by giving an other's email as part of a scam/theft.) Because of this, we should all be using only email for commission communication, but there's still the issue of NSFW discussion threatening our accounts. A step below that is my suggestion of having proof that something was sent to the buyer, as a lot of scammers will claim nothing was sent to them at all. I can't tell how this buyer actually paid you, but I would further recommend sending an invoice with an attached ToS, making sure "shipping info" is set to not required and specifying the payment is for digital goods/commission work. While I hope PayPal decides to pay you back out of their own pocket, I would start prepping for a lose just in case.
  17. If Paypal is saying they need to talk to his bank, then this is one of those instances where it's not their fault. They don't really get a say in what happens because the issue didn't arise through them. A chargeback = initiated through a bank. Bypasses Paypal. Usually smacks you with an extra charge beyond the initial sale. Paypal can't do anything in these instances except refund you out of their own pocket if they so wish. Usually sellers lose these because most banks and cards have fraud protection which guarantees the actual cardholder gets their money back. A claim = initiated through Paypal. This is where Paypal's team reviews a case and decides in favor of someone.
  18. I cannot believe I had to try to remember my password just so I could log on and comment about how deeply, insanely sorry I am that you went through this kind of treatment. The artist in question is on twitter framing it as them having clearly expressed warnings about the wait time and you disregarding that and omitting that detail, which is why I feel the need to comment this: There is such, such, SUCH a difference between "due to health reasons, I cannot promise a clear ETA on your commission and I hope you understand that" versus, uuuh, "don't talk to me about the commission you've been waiting on for a year, I'm trying to play video games". There is such a clear difference between "sorry, I haven't done your art yet because, as I discussed with you, my mental health is frail and I haven't been able to work on it so far" and "hey look at all this personal art I did for myself, don't talk to me about your art*". Simply saying "I communicated that the wait would be long" is not a catch all excuse for not only not giving updates and communication, but actively shutting down the client's requests to seek clarification. Did OP omit conversations where the artist conveyed to them that the wait time would be long at the arrival of the art uncertain due to mental health? Sure, maybe. Does it mean fart to me? Absolutely not, since the issue here isn't even "the wait time was really long", the issue here is OP: hey, I want to be really understanding of what you're going through right now and I don't want to pressure you for the art, but I'd really like some clearer communication. Artist: whoa dude can you not talk to me you made me miss my cool drop in this video game. (As you can tell I am just particularly flabbergasted by that as a response to some really earnest and patient appeals for clearer and healthier communication, absolutely incredible) Basically the artist blowing up at OP at the end is, to me, shocking but not surprising. They more or less treated OP with the same disregard, dismissal, and passive aggression regarding attempts to get the commission sorted out previously, just a little more disguised. They seemed to be saying "shut the fuck up" to the OP repeatedly in the 13 months leading up to this blow up, just not as overtly. *I just want to be clear myself here: there is nothing wrong with artists doing personal art between work on commissions. It's healthy, in fact, and can help them maintain their creativity between professional work to do something loose and low expectation for themselves. I do not have an issue with the artist doing personal work between commission work. But there is something personally weird to me about showing off personal art in private to someone waiting on commission while also actively dodging and shutting down any conversation that person tries to seek about that commission.
  19. Not to necessarily question too much but if a PSD was given with the right to change information presented (I would assume such since the fonts used were also provided) unless it’s stated in your TOS or the agreement with Raven that she can’t remove the species credits, where is the problem? I could have honestly missed something but i don’t see a DMCA or any takedown warning and after being refused further work with her drake and then being DMCA’d I can kind of see why she would chargeback the work? As far as I can see she didn’t break any terms of the artist’s and then had her artwork forcibly removed by them The Adiago stuff is a whole other issue entirely I feel like. I don’t know, just looking at this objectively I don’t really feel like Raven did anything wrong beyond not responding when the artist mentioned being concerned. Even that seemed more friendly or casual than ‘return the credits please or I will have the artwork forcibly removed’
  20. I know that we asked you to cut a lot out due to trying to keep into the scope of the site. Adiago has been like this for over a decade, so while I commend you for trying to see the good in people as per your text in a previous submission, I'm baffled why people continue to work with her in the first place. I suppose with the loss of LJ archives/ lack of use of LJ where a lot of this was documented people don't know too much about her history. Thank you for coming forward, Raven. It's a beware well warranted.
  21. Undelivered commissions x3 from between February and April 2020. See imagery for proof. - Conversations between Feb and April 2020 is us arranging the commissions and their themes. Don’t mind the NSFW text, it was all NSFW art. The screencap of Dev confirming his PayPal name (as well as the .me link) is simply to verify the PayP screengrab later on. - April onwards, Dev never directly made contact with me (until the next dash below). Every month or so I’d message to see how he was doing, and nothing was being done. However, others commissions were being prioritised over mine, so he was not inactive. - 02/10/21, Dev wished to refund the total for the various commissions. Below is that conversation. - Contact after this has been spotty, and no money or drawings have been done since. His Twitter is also radio silent (in terms of art) since January 2022. Feels like he took the money and ran. All conversations between us remain on my Discord. If further information is required, message me.
  22. I'm glad to see that this was fully refunded but it's clear to me that the artist still does not fully grasp what went wrong. If they're still reading I'm going to lay things down: 1. Do not promise your client a time frame you cannot achieve. Delays in your time frames should be the exception, not the rule. In addition to that, if you're giving other clients a week's turn around but have other overdue clients that have been around for months for the same amount of work, sit yourself down and focus on how to address that. They will notice, and you should notice too. 2. Apologize to your clients for the delays and acknowledge the delays. You've only apologized for certain behaviors which while good, you still never really acknowledged in any capacity 'I'm overdue and I apologize for that'. Acknowledging the delay sympathetically and neutrally goes a long way in client/artist relationships and creates an environment that says you respect their patronage. They chose to part their hard earned money to you, don't make them feel like they made a mistake. 3. Don't over-explain. You may feel the impulse to over-explain your situation with the assumption that it'll make people understand better but more often than not it has the opposite effect. It can make the client feel responsible for what's going on in your life which they shouldn't. Humbly admitting a failing and being honest but brief about the issue, is all you need to do. (example, simply stating you're sick vs stating you're sick while proceeding to explain every bit of problem in your life that came from being sick, the client doesn't need to know the details.) 4. Not having the money to pay back a client is not their fault. You cannot decide to not pay them back just because you don't have the money right then, you cannot yell at them for not having money when you want to pay them back. You have to make yourself a plan to pay them back and then follow through with it. And this is less a criticism and moreso advice: You don't have to respond immediately after the client does. If you're going to bed, they can wait till morning for you to reply. (but try to make sure it's not exceeded 72 hours since they contacted you) And please up your prices, you're worth more than what you charge and you'll find your queue much more manageable if you price yourself better. You can turn around from this, but it's on you to make these changes, and no, that does not mean you have to fix everything overnight, you just have to set yourself on the path to improvement. Running a business is a learning experience, mistakes happen but only you can fix them.
  23. I have never written a Beware before. I didn’t even want to make this one, but this is completely unacceptable and future buyers should be aware. This is a small time fursuit maker by the name of Majeste. Back on June 23rd 2020, I purchased a custom set of puffy paws with claws after having talked details of the design and other pertinent information. I was quoted $190 and paid the full $190. Remember that price was QUOTED TO ME, because it will be relevant later on. Majeste, at first, I had no issues with. The paws were going to take a little while and that was fine, that had already been established up front. The design of the paws was reviewed and I picked out my fur and minky fabrics that would be used to make these paws. I was under the impression that the fabrics that I chose WITH Majeste’s help would be the exact furs ordered and used on my paws. I don’t get any updates for a couple weeks, which again, is fine, I was aware of the time frame for paws turnaround. However, the issue comes in when Majeste sends me a WIP photo. I could see the backing of the pink minky looked strange, textured, but I don’t sew, I don’t work with materials, so I didn’t know. I wasn’t concerned at this point. I had no reason to believe the fabric was not the fabric I chose. The next photo I received was of one finished paw. This is where the major issue comes into play: the minky on the paws was NOT the minky I had chosen/agreed upon when the order for the paws was placed. I had been given no prior indication of this change. At first, I sort of glossed over it. It was devastated, but I didn’t want to become a nightmare customer or cause issues. I assumed Majeste would have a solution in mind. Majeste did not at all offer to fix the problem up front, she did not even address it until I did first. As if it was no issue. I still wanted my paws, but I was extremely unhappy. I paid for a service and product, and neither was delivered as promised/agreed upon. I paid $190 for paws the way they had been discussed, not with a change in minky. I will admit, I became more agitated and less willing to accept this work as the conversation went on. At this point, I did not want to prolong the wait time, and I did not want to be treated as an inconvenience. I suggested upgraded shipping as a fair means of coming to a resolution. Majeste would have to make no refund, no alterations - simply mail the paws with an upgraded shipping method. This is where she becomes extremely aggressive with me. She tries to have me pay MORE to even FIX the paws in the first place, otherwise they won’t be fixed. She tells ME that MY behavior is unacceptable and tells me I’m scamming her. Scamming her after I had already paid the $190 for my paws. Right. She continues, saying she already discounted my paws (I never asked for any discount, Majeste herself quoted me the price of $190 from the get go, as mentioned earlier) and if I want things to be “fair”, I’ll pay the difference of her “usual” paw price and she’ll fix them. Needless to say, I was extremely upset by this interaction. As a paying customer, I felt completely sidelined and overall unhappy with the finished result of my custom made product. Now, I’m going to have to have these fixed myself. In the end, Majeste did ship them and provide a tracking number to me. I do not have the paws in my hands as of writing this, but I would like to update based on the quality of the paws I do receive. There are LOTS of screenshots, as this is the entire conversation as it took place on Amino. Please. Proceed with extreme caution if you are considering working with Maj-Mania749. Attached are all the screenshots of every interaction I had with Majeste. I included everything, even the conversation bits, so there’s nothing lost and all context is there. Hopefully it’s all in order!
  24. Jan. 5th, 2012 at 5:31 PM mozz1 I have reason to believe I was scammed by an artist on Furaffinity It happened about year ago, I met with an artist online who was just starting out, but seemed promising. Me and him established a good friendship, and coincidentally we only live maybe 30 minutes away from each other. So we decided to meet up at a restaurant. We had a great time, and left on a really positive note. But before we left, I gave him 20 dollars cash for a color and ink commission. The artist in question is named Furinkazan, and here is his FA page: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/furinkazan/ Shortly after me and Furinkazan met in person, he began talking to me less and less on MSN, until he decided to eventually block me for reasons unknown. And for months, I could not get in touch with him. I tried sending him only a few PM's through FA just to see if he was still active, which he did not respond to. But I knew he was active, as he was favoriting others works, and occasionally posting his own. At that point I made a very grave mistake which I wholeheartedly regret doing and posted on Furinkazan's shout box something along the lines of: "Thanks for stealing 20 bucks from me" That shout was immediately deleted by him, and he left a shout on my page, marked a year ago, which you can see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/mozz/ It says: "I never said I wouldn't finish your commission, so don't accuse me of stealing in a public arena when I've stolen nothing from you. If you have something to say, note me." Even though it was a bad idea, I figured now he was finally going to talk to me, I PM'ed him back, and the conversation is as follows: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm1.png So it would appear, it all worked out in the end. Well not quite. Even though we made up, I still never got any commission from him, but I did wish him happy holidays: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm2.png We then clarified what I wanted my commission to be: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm3.png And that was the last time we talked. He still blocked me from MSN, but he promised me that he was going to do the commission. A half a year passes, and still no commission from him. However I'm still being patient, and when his birthday comes around, I leave a shout on his page wishing him a happy birthday. He leaves a shout back on my page, which is still there that says: "Thanks! I'll have your stuff done soon, sorry it's taken so long." What I did next might have probably put him over the edge, and it was also something stupid I did that I regret doing. Last month on September 5th, I left a shout on his page saying "Happy one year anniversary that I still haven't got my commission! :D" Well that shout was quickly deleted, my name was removed from his owed commissions list, and I was blocked from his page entirely. I was not trying to start drama, I was merely stating that its been a year now, and I still don't have my commission. I completely went about it the wrong way So now a month later. At this point, I don't care if I don't get my commission, or if I don't get a refund, I just want the community to know that Furinkazan is a scam artist, and to not make the same mistake I did. I tried contacting several different FA administrators, but they all ignored me. Finally as my last step, I made a thread on the FA forums, and a few civil people there redirected me to Arists_beware, since it is quite clear from that thread, that they do not care that there is a scam artist still at large, and that I am the one at fault somehow, that I was harassing him. Here is a link to the thread in question: http://forums.furaffinity.net/threads/108723-Scam-artist-on-FA Well apparently from the thread the issue was resolved, at least for the moment. After much consideration, I gave furinkazan my home address so he can send the refund through the mail, as shown in this PM: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm4.png Well it has been three months later, and I still have yet to receive that refund, which I kind of expected I wasn't going to receive. I admit completely, that there were moments where I should have handled the situation much more appropriately, and not have said some of the things I said. Unfortunately, I cannot take what I said back, but I did apologize for what I said, and understand it was wrong to do so. But I still feel that does not excuse the fact that it has been a year and a half that I paid this artist for a simple piece of artwork that I will never receive, plus the fact he probably has no plans on refunding my commission money.

The only time I've ever had a long wait time from him was when he was dealing with some IRL problems at the same time, which was no problem. :3 Yesterday he finished a quick freebie for me as well as a sketch for my boyfriend and I(Warning: Really NSFW!). I've always been a really big fan of his art style-- He's a really talented artist and a really fast worker. His commissions are cheap, too! The commissions I can talk about are crazy old, so we had to check our Paypal history: she has one payment from me on the 14th of July 2009,and has posted my first commission the twelve of that month and the second around the end of August. 4. Kyuume draws very expressive characters. Back when I commissioned her she was taking a batch of low detail cheaper commissions, plus it was over two years ago, so now both prices and style have changed and the ones I paid don't apply anymore; anyway, as you will see in the examples, she improved a lot in her art, and she's one of the very few people I would recommend for commissions (I think they're, like, 3 in total? I've had bad luck in my days). We're good friends, but from what I know she's pretty easy going even with strangers, does her job and does it well. Her basic price list now gives Head to waist, more detail, colour, shading, simple bg included: ONE CHAR: £19, TWO CHAR: £23 + £4 every extra char; Examples of her current work are here (can't see without an y!gal account) and here; the old commissions from 2 years ago are this one and this one. She has never drawn anthro but she's eager to learn, so she told me she's willing to give a discount for any anthro commission she gets, but she doesn't feel ready to draw anything 18+ themed yet. gingerligress Nov. 2nd, 2011 09:15 pm (local) Sepp 1. Only three days after I paid, I got this wonderful icon you see here. For the price, I was simply shocked at the quality. Just...I still can't stop staring at it. They've only recently been able to accept money through paypal, so now's your chance to get some awesome art for a great price. :D The only thing I would note is that they do confirm and keep up with things mostly through journals, but they noted me the final piece and replied to let me know that they received payment, so they don't seem adverse to communicating through notes.
