About Me

  1. Just as a final update on the matter (hopefully): ex-client stopped harassing us with new accounts and so far we didn’t receive any extra updates on their stories (seems like they set it to private and that’s totally fine by us; in their safe space with the people they trust they can share anything they want. Our problem was with the open-public harassment they were doing). For future reference, as for this specific situation we had never terminated a commission on this stage of development before. We try our best to provide a good experience for our clients, but we’re very strict with our TOS. Since the beginning this negotiation was walking the line of us being too soft with our own terms (trying to be sensible with the client and at the moment thinking the project would be good portfolio material so it was worth being more flexible), and in the end we got the raw side of the deal. Since we’re a new studio not much can be found of us online at the moment, sadly. As the brand our opinions on the matter might be taken less earnestly by people who do’t know us or our service, and for that we welcome anyone to ask our clients directly how the experience of working with us was. Most of them are tagged on our IG posts (of course, respecting their privacy and space). We thank you all for your time and attention on this matter and from this entire situation we plan on changing a few things on our TOS and procedures from Artistic Liberty in the future to prevent this kind of stuff from happening again [we’ll share here so other makers can have this testimonial to refer to if they want]: ▫️We’ll add a more detailed clause on cancellations // terminations on these designs made by us to prevent further claim discussions about this. ▫️The cancellation from our side will be more explained since for us Artistic Liberty slots are pick with the main objective of being a fun project and a good portfolio material. If during negotiations the client requests changes that make the project less interesting from production we’ll reserve ourselves to terminate the quote. We’ll also make it clear that on Regular Commissions the client has all the freedom in the world to request any changes desired, to request a character to be created from 0 and pay for that kind of service accordingly (our Artist Liberty services are way cheaper than regular commissions for that reason, and we plan on letting this more clear on the TOS too). ▫️We’ll stop being way too reasonable with clients that send a quote request for this kind of project without having the money to pay upfront the initial nonrefundable 30% of the commission price. Most of the cases of clients that stole our art were from people who didn’t have the money upfront to pay but wanted to move forward with the commission anyway, under their word of paying us in the future. We trust our clients until being scammed, and for that reason we plan on protecting ourselves more from that kind of situation. ▫️We will request an ID from now on after the quote is analyzed and approved. Working overseas might making check those IDs more difficult but it’s better than having this kind of headache again in the future. ▫️Clarify even more that designs created during quote or during commission process are property of the studio until payment is complete and no designs can be claimed on cancellations // terminations. We’ll be stricter with also the use of unpaid claimed designs to be made into fursuits by other makers (that didn’t happen before, but better safe than sorry). ▫️Making sure to attach a PDF version of our TOS in the quote confirmation email and ask the client to read and confirm agreement again before sending the invoice for the project. ▫️Proofreading all the TOS with English native speakers to make the terms as clear as possible for future clients (as it is right now it was only proofread by Brazilian translators). We welcome you and thank you in advance in helping us with your suggestions on this TOS changes, and we plan on posting a more detailed text on the forums, but feel free to PM/email us suggestions or corrections, we don’t want to flood this beware with further replies that are not direct related to the subject.
  2. Update: After SnS hasn't been responding to me, I decided to make a tweet about her, which called out her business (I used her real name in the second tweet about her, so the "blur" in the fifth photo was from the original tweet). She FINALLY responds to me. She decided to send me a partial refund for the troubles. She said that she wasn't able to go to her studio because her leasing manager wouldn't allow her to go back and pick up the suit (due to the stay at home order). She had to make an "appointment" to pick up the suit. I found this weird, because I sent stuff to studio, and it was just an apartment (or it could really be a studio, but I doubt it because she had pictures of her boyfriend in the studio with her, and I'm under the impression that he doesn't contribute to fursuits because she never mentioned him helping with suits). I'm not going to make assumptions, but I just thought that it was a little fishy that she was "kicked out" and had to make an appointment for a (non-essential) business necessity. She was able to pick it up on May 8th, but wasn't able to get it shipped that day. She sent it the next day, but never gave me the tracking number. I asked for the tracking information, and she said that she sent it out a couple days ago. She took an image of the postage for me, and got me a tracking link, but never sent it to me until AFTER I asked her if she shipped it out. She still didn't send a refund. I received the suit, made a video unboxing it, and I noticed issues with the suit. First issue: She acknowledged that she was going to line up the colors with the head and the bodysuit, but they didn't line up (luckily, the colors matched). It's almost as if she didn't know how far that the colors were supposed to go down because it looks like they would've lined up if the head's fabric would've went down further along my chest. However, I suppose that it just kind of looks like "extra chest fluff". It's like an illusion, almost (if that makes sense). It's no big deal, because people will probably not notice it. Second issue: The tail was crooked. She made a free tail for me, and I never knew about it until I unboxed the suit. It skews to the left when it goes down towards the tip. For the third issue, the hand paws have a "black outline" that wraps around the forearm. This is mainly meant to prevent it from sliding. However, this is fur on top of fur. It's going to slide no matter what. She used black instead of white, and because of this, it makes it VERY visible to see whenever the paws are not being tucked in. This is a poor image, but you can still see it: For the fourth, and final issue, I feel like this is the biggest issue of them all. The fabric on the bodysuit as a weird "flap" which looks like it's supposed to cover the feet. I can see why she wanted to do this, but it's poorly executed. When I was wearing this suit for the first time, I thought that there was supposed to be a zipper on the back to "close a gap" behind the legs so that this wouldn't be visible. There's not. Because of this, depending on how I stand or position myself, the flaps around the feet can get bunched up and look really bad for photos (like the previous photo). It looks fine in this picture: But in this picture... You can see that the feet got bunched up. It even looks like a plantigrade suit in this picture. The padding for the digitigrade suit is sewn-in, so that means it will be MUCH harder to clean when I wash it someday. You can even see that "black" part of hand paw in my left arm in the previous picture. She finally sent me the refund, about a week after I received the bodysuit. I am going to be spending the refund money on repairs with the suit. So I will likely end up spending $150-$200 on these repairs and fixes. There was one other minor edit which I needed to the bodysuit, which was extending the midtone colors further behind the suit (the colors between the blue and white on the arms and legs). However, It's such a minor detail that almost every artist misses this detail when I order a commission. Therefore, that is the end of me having to deal with SnS fursuits.
  3. I also think just randomly bringing up 'somebody called me a liar' out of the blue is a red flag too.
  4. I was looking around for a new fursuit bodysuit to order, since I was heavily dissatisfied with my current fursuit quality. A friend of mine recommended that I went to Sugar 'n Spice, since CorpseCat (the maker) was hosting a tax return sale, and was offering a bodysuit (only) for $950. I sent her a message, and this is how it started off. I sent her a full down-payment, the DTD, and even the fur colors that match the rest of my fursuit, all the next day. I sent her a reference, as well as a very length description. She said that she totally understood, so I assumed that this was going to be a good commission. I asked when the bodysuit was going to be done, and she said that it was going to be done around MFF of 2019 or sooner. She promised that progress photos were going to be included. I asked for my fur samples back that I sent her (so that I could send them off to another maker that was going to make my new fursuit head). I gave her my address but she never sent them back. On 8/31/2019, she said that she was almost done with the bodysuit. She never sent a single progress photo. She is also claiming that the fur colors are not exact to the ones that I sent her, but they are incredibly close... Lots of nudging later, still nothing. She claimed that her boyfriend has been in the hospital, and sent a picture (cropped out the picture for privacy). She has made plenty, plenty, plenty of excuses in the past about her health in the past (you can find them in almost any beware about her). 1-2 months before the deadline, and I asked her yet again if the bodysuit was on-track to being completed on-time. Her responses are predictable: Lots and lots and lots of asking to try and get ANY kind of photos from her. She brings up another health excuse with herself (which, as fake as it seems, I'm still censoring it for privacy reasons). At the bottom of the next screenshot is when the bodysuit is supposed to be done. No photos were sent. She brought up that the bodysuit wasn't going to work with my current fursuit paws and feet. She offered to make me free paws and feet, at the expense of delaying the TAT more. I asked later how long that it would be delayed, and she said that it could take another month. I was fine with that, but I asked for progress photos again while I had her attention. Guess what? Another medical excuse. I eventually lost it at this point. About a month later, I still received ZERO photos and ZERO updates about the suit being made. I looked at her WIP Telegram channel, and I didn't see any photos of my suit being in there. I called her out in this next screenshot, and this is when I began to lose it. She said that she was going to send photos, but once again, nothing. At the bottom, when I said that I was going to start taking action, that's when I decided to write a script for the YouTube video (at the top of the post) that was going to call her out and her poor business practices: I asked for her response one last time before making a video about her. She said that it's prepared to get shipped out, but has NEVER sent me a single progress photo: She finally sends photos on February 11th. She admitted that she ignored my reference in order to make the hip markings look more visible. I corrected her, and she said that she was going to fix it. I resent her the reference to show her how the hip markings are supposed to look: They are three fingernail-looking markings that are on each side of the waist. She made the markings go completely around the back. I asked how long that it was going to take to get the markings fixed. She said Friday (so three days at the time) until they were going to be fixed. I asked her for photos before she sends them out, and she said that she was going to send them when she gets to her office. Nothing happened. I asked again, she brings up another fake health excuse. She later sent me an image of the hip markings without any changes, and she said that she was confused about what was wrong about it. She waited over a month before telling me this, even though she said that she knew what she had to do, and that she was going to take three days to fix it: In this next screenshot, this was the time where I finally uploaded the video that I warned her about. I was going to give her a last chance before posting it. This is the last time that I've heard from her. I'm assuming it's because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but either way, her Telegram said that she hasn't been online within a week. She promised that she was going to send it out, and I never gave her my address until I saw the final product: This is the last that I have heard from her. I got into contact with PayPal, and they said that it's been past 180 days, and they cannot do anything about this situation. I paid CorpseCat through a bank account that I closed in the past. I got in-contact with this bank yesterday (4/21/2020), and they said that they can't do anything about the transaction because my account has been closed for so long. I am $950 poorer with nothing to show for it. I attempted contact with her multiple times, and nothing has been happening since then. When I created this thread, it showed that she was seen last within a week. Since I updated these new screenshots, it now shows that she's been seen recently. Meaning that she has been online but hasn't read my messages. I warn/advise everyone to stay away from this maker. There are four bewares about her on the first page of Google when you type "sugar n spice fursuits". This fursuit maker is unbelievably toxic, and I do not want anyone to order from her, either. It was partially my fault for not doing my research before ordering from her, so therefore, I want to make sure that nobody else does the same. DO NOT ORDER FROM SUGAR 'N SPICE!
  5. There are plenty of bewares on Twitter pointing to this person owing thousands of dollars in various art forms, mostly fursuits, and then they have the gall to police other artists on their work ethics. Stay aware of when your PayPal claims window runs out, I have a feeling your piece might never be finished.
  6. ZappBEAST / Azoth is an artist/fursuit maker i had found on twitter. I had saw them Post up a YCH on twitter and his instructions were to DM him. I don't know how long this person's Commission queue was, and i was never given a trello so i could never see. On the 18th the artist posted more YCHs on their twitter and also explained that their ipad had broken, which is why they needed to open more slots. I offered to help but there was misunderstanding in price for the YCH so we just ended up talking about his ipad/tablet situation. About two weeks later on the 31st, he also mentioned hes having problems with clients for fursuits. At the time i tried to empathize with them, but looking back at it now, it seemes like another excuse for a delay. A whole month passes, with promises of starting my commission soon, and then another whole month passes before work actually begins on the piece. All of this while his twitter and telegram group gets tons of posts with personal art and more YCH slots. while he provided sufficient updates and stuff at the time, another two weeks had gone by and more personal art and other commissions were finished before me. While nothing wrong has been inherently done, and a lot of stuff has been thrown his way, a lot of his practices are very suspicious and their workflow seems chaotic at best, and their return time also seems really bizarre. I dont think ill commission this person again, especially for the price and even if its really good art.

    Space Meme

the person in question used the name spacemuttt on most services http://web.archive.org/web/20181124015225/https://www.furaffinity.net/user/spacemuttt/ Their account is deactivated so all that's left is the archive from 2018, you can see they at one point advertised fursuits on FA They also had a Deviantart, Twitter, Weasyl, Ink Bunny, and Instagram under the same name, some of those accounts no longer exist. But Spacemuttt was the name they used for accounts, not space meme. And most of those accounts appear abandoned.
  8. On January 5th, I had entered into an agreement for a custom texture/skin commission usable in Second Life for the amount of 19k L$ (Approx $75). This was to include a full body texture for both the male and female version of my silver fox character, of which references were provided. Additionally, this project was to include textures for two heads (Canis and Doggo), ears, legs, and implied related typical components. The estimated wait time that was given was 2 weeks. The artist replied via discord on Jan 8th to mention various family-related problems and other issues that was pose a delay, but then contacted me on Jan 10th to tell me the project was "almost done." No WIPs were provided prior to this statement, and I'd seen no work whatsoever. WIPs were explicitly mentioned when we first discussed the project. I was eventually provided some images while out on mobile where I tried to direct concerns about missing or erroneous markings and details. At no point through the process of edits did I approve a final version, as she had also indicated that the "blending" and fur "texture" would be added layer. Regardless, she delivered a "final product" while I was not available to comment or reply, and when asked about it, verified that she felt the project was complete. Inspection of the delivered items showed no inclusion of the male version of the skin. Further, no applier was included for the Canis or Doggo heads. This is especially problematic as the Canis requires one unless a user can somehow manually apply the texture to every single possible animated state of the head one state at a time; simply dragging and dropping the texture on the head only applies it to the specific state it is. This makes the texture for the head largely unusable on its own. The colors of the delivered skin did not match expectations or references, nor did the markings and patterns, especially on the head (at least visible in the single, static 'frame' shown when the head is dropped on the ground). No textures for ears were included, nor were any for 3rd party legs or tail (nor did she even ask which of any of these I wanted to use). Genitals were crudely painted on the female body skin, which are entirely not necessary (and conflict) with the 3rd party body that I had stated I use; this was not a detail that was requested, nor were they shown on the few WIP images I did receive. When confronted and asked whether this was supposed to be the final version, they replied with "yup" and a laughing face, then took insult when I attempted to express my dissatisfaction with the result or pointed out missing components, including making a statement of "I don't cater to customers who insult my work." They claimed several times through the resulting conversation that I "approved" her work, but after repeatedly disagreeing with her on that, she went the route of implying that my lack of immediate response or not telling her to stop was considered by her as approval. The notion that a customer can be busy at work, driving their car, or otherwise being physically unavailable to comment and have that used as a substitute for explicit approval should be cause for alarm for any potential customer. A refund was requested, even partial, to which the artist immediately stated "in my tos it states once a product is done I don't offer refunds." This notion is in dispute as I did not accept or approve of a finished state of the project, nor did we ever agree to any "terms of service" anywhere in our conversation. The user has blocked my communications with them on SL, Discord, and Twitter, refusing any possibility for further contact. I have deleted the items from my inventory, as well as any items they were applied to as part of my own agreement regarding this issue. A fraud report has been filed with Linden Labs. Screenshots:
  9. This whole thing has been a mess and an absolutely frustrating read. You need to inform your clients when you've worked on something if they've not heard from you. I find it suspect that the piece is suddenly ~mysteriously being worked on~ after 4 months of silence just to guilt you into rescinding your refund request. (and as far as I can tell, no proof of such work was ever shown to the client) The only work done at all was after the commission was changed to stickers. As for the sticker work itself, I think the work is on par with the rest of the artist's work, I don't really get the impression it was rushed so much. As for the hugs sticker, I think it's less that it was rushed and more that the artist just wasn't skilled in foreshortening like that. But I think the fingers still could have been adjusted slightly to look more conical instead of rounded. None of the changes you requested were unreasonable, and I find it really odd that they were so reluctant to add any sort of boarder themselves and instead shame you for requesting such a border. Did they just expect you to use the stickers with the solid color background? That's not typical telegram sticker format and it's really just not great looking for that. Like geeze I'd just add the border for the client myself. You had been completely reasonable and polite the whole way through, this didn't have to turn out the way it did. Either refunding from the very beginning or just doing the minor adjustments on the stickers. There was nothing about your conduct that there was to be a 'beware' about, and the refund and public release of the stickers is incredibly petty. That's a 100+ deep queue, along with 2 fursuits and it's not even small things, a lot of those are ref sheets, full bodies, an 'art slave' commission which typically I find those are a lot of work. I also find a policy of only 75% refund when it's been less than 6 months, even if no work has been done at all, completely inappropriate when the queue is that bad. That's a policy you have for fursuits because of supply purchases, not for illustrations and waiting on something that already is going to have an absurd wait time. As if their conduct here wasn't bad enough, that queue alone would stop me from doing business with them. 😕
  10. I won an auction for a Noivern fursuit a while back, and before I made my bid, I asked if the suit could be altered up a little to fit my size. She agreed. After winning the auction, I agreed to pay the extra charge, and I added her personal account on Facebook. Fast-forward to May 2016. I asked about updates, and there wasn't anything to show for. Fast forward two years, I asked again, and she claimed that her suit was lost in a move, and would have to remake it. Fast forward again, after more occasional and unsuccessful attempts at getting an update, this was the last correspondence where she had actually replied, which was on Discord. There has been no communication from her ever since that one message. I honestly should've made a post like this years ago, but what's done is done. And during this entire, years-long ordeal, she had continued to complete other projects, including other fursuits. I hope that this post serves to help people not go through what I went through.
  11. Never agree to commissions outside of written proof guys. As I don't have the first half the proof will start from the second point onward where they try to resolve the matter. Years ago I made a commission deal on skype to a partial friend (silly me) which was still a professional commission however. They were unresponsive for a while and I inquired about the commission to which I got no response. I since deleted Skype since I don't use it anymore and simply put them on an "owed" list on FA for quite a while. Last year they come to me out of the blue and post this where they do admit to everything. They put the blame on me and then proceed to dock me for a sketch done years ago. At this point a normal person would just demand their money back right? Well I decided to be curt and professional but still give them a chance. They respond to this in a way that even makes me feel embarrassed where they state that they are going to make it faster, messier, and sketchier... but still get their usual quality??? I was confused because it almost seemed like an insult to themself and was also annoyed because they should have made up for not responding for so long. I was again short with them but still polite and gave them a small amount of information to get through the commissions. They say they'll note me by next friday at the latest. The 4th of May, 2018 was a Friday so that meant the 11th which was the next Friday. They get back to me May 26th or more than 3 Fridays later to just apologize and make an excuse again. (Some blurred out as per guideline rules.) I haven't heard from her since and it's now September of 2019. On her profile it says she is even accepting commissions at the moment. As you can tell I have a lot of patience and have literally given them several years to do this. At this point I just want my money back. I didn't really want to have to put someone up on here in the end.
  12. I have a species i had created called Koberu, now, these species are closed to the public and i do not at all allow these species to be made by others and sold as adopts, at least until i can get a proper Ref sheet made for them for people to buy and use to make them. it started on Sep 11th, 2019, 07:41 PM , i had received an note on furaffinity from Mramor, she had stated that someone had come to her and asked for a commission and used reference shots from Secondlife, which is were i make and sell my Koberu as well: before i seen the second one, this was my response: now, in the chat we had, she had mentioned that she had never seen them before...that she had never even heard of a Koberu before, well, i at the time believed her, and as you saw she said that she did not want to waste her time and i felt bad she put work into the first one, so i told her to go ahead and put it up for adopt (which...was a big mistake on my end...) i later realized my mistake on doing it, but lets get into that now, she responded with this: now i made this response after seeing the mint one, and it kinda put me on edge, cause she only showed me the first one. She didn't mention there was a second one, but I let her sell those two. It did not click in my brain until a good friend pointed it out to me, but she mentioned she was shocked that one of her designs looked like one of my Koberu. hang on a second, i thought to myself, how was she shocked when she has seen them before...? oh yes, she has seen them before, how do i know you may ask, well, here is the evidence... here you can see my friend bid on one of the koberus, take a good look at the date this auction was posted She left a shout on my freind's page saying how much damn gorgeous her sona was. Here is more proof that she seen the auction before contacting me. [Mod note]: There were multiple caps on various users' pages. Due to the caps resizing strangely, we added in a few crops. Please note that this user has been leaving shouts on multiple bidders' pages. not only did she see the auction i did, she also favorited one of my koberu pictures 2 months back as well, here is the proof but, before i noticed she liked this (which was brought to my attention by my friend) i asked her about the shouts, cause i was told about the shouts before i found out she favored my Koberu Picture as i stated in my reply.. before hers, i told her only two.....BUT THEN SHE SAID SHE WAS WORKING ON ANOTHER ONE? even though i told her only those two?! that made me nervous and unsure about my choice now....i was starting to wonder if i made the right choice giving her permission...so this was her response... what....? .....haven't...heard of them before...? okay this here is where the red flag started to slap me in the face hardcore now...she said she was shocked she never seen them before, but left a shout on my friends pages, i do have another friend she left a shout on, but she did not bid on an auction until later on but here is a screenshot of the shout she left her before contacting me about the Koberus she HAD to have seen my auctions and seen my Koberu... -lied about not seeing my Koberu -people asking for commissions -people getting the idea they can sell them. -and tried to make a third adopt even though i told her only TWO -unfair to others who wanted to make Koberus don't you think that is a justified reason to ask her to take them down? people were starting to think they could make custom Koberu adopts and try and sell them even though they are an closed species of mine and no one is suppose to sell them but me, i broke my own rule i will admit and i was being way to nice, a fault in which i really need to fix, but anyways, i confronted her today and asked her nicely to take them down, and explained why... hold on to your seats folks cause this is about to get spicy: i know i said i only gave permission to sell the blue one but i did not remember at that time that i gave her permission for both so, i will admit to that mistake. but what sets me off about this is she tried to bring the bidders into this...which btw i contacted the bidders and informed them of the situation at hand and they completely understood, and they were super okay with it...i showed these screenshots to people, asking if this all sounded shady, cause i did not want to take all of this in the wrong way, but many have told me to confront her about this and as you can see, i am trying to in the nicest way possible...no aggression at all, then she goes and says she will just change the name ''hybrid dog'' ....? no, no, people have ALREADY SEEN THAT YOU NAMED IT KOBERU its obvious that is what it is and i have the evidence to prove you KNOW what a Koberu is and that you lied about not seeing them, even your mate made an art piece for a friend of mine who is a KOBERU here we go again with the ''i did not know it was a species'' gig...even after i just showed you the evidence. so after all that quarrel she says this, and, honestly it has me very worried, cause, she claimed she took them down, and then said she sold them? even after i told her to kindly take them down? and whats worse is, she still has reminders up on her alt for them the fact she activated a dead account to sell them is down right...wrong...I am writing this beware because she still is trying to sell them even though i told her specifically not to, again, i do not like nor is my intent to slander her name, i just want people to be careful around her and that to check her story first before you believe, her, i regret not doing so in the first place but it wont happen again.
  13. Beware Written on September 11, 2019 Who: Ohmega Suit Studios/Ohm Protho/Ohmnog When: November 9 2017 - 2019 (Still ongoing) Where: ordered via Facebook messenger, other discussions via Twitter, Telegram, and via email What: A pair of all blue, no claws or pawpads: handpaws, feetpaws, and artwork- headshot Total amount: $231 -- most paid through friends and family Things to note: Ohm and I were friends at the time of the commission start, somewhere between it all we just fell through. Ohm will be referred to by they/them/theirs out of respect for their choice of pronouns. I understand the situation in which Ohm had injured their hand in 2017 and when they had to move out of their apartment in 2019 AZ due to AC and space issues. I understand there was a period of time where Ohm's messaging on almost all social media outlets was really glitched out and communication would be faltered. Hence why I decided to reach out to multiple at a time. I do not wish ill will towards them or their future, I really do wish and hope for Ohm to be successful in their endevours. Why: Failure to show updates of any kind, failure to keep client (myself) up to date, failure to provide a queue, communication issues, poor business practices. I would like to start off by saying, do not actively seek and harrass Ohm. This is an ordeal that is between the two of us, however, I am making this to make others aware of my situation and to warn others before possibly conducting business and/or trades. It has come to a point where I have to make this public in order to get some sort of confirmation, update and something set in stone from them. Back in 2017 I had just started really getting into the furry fandom. I had met Ohm online via Facebook and we started off being pretty good friends. I was so amazed to see their work and how much potential they had. I supported them in all of their work, progress images in art and suit making. I really looked up to Ohm and was so excited to have a new friend. Looking back at the screenshots, it seems as though I commissioned them for some artwork before we got to meet for the first time in person, also at my very first furcon. We talked about how our lives were and what we had planned for the future and I gifted them a very small badge. (I know the badge is irrelevant, but somewhere deep down I hope they still have it.) After meeting up with them at AZFC 2017 (just a few days prior Ohm had an accident where their hand got cut by their glass window.) I had saved up enough to be able to commission them for a set of feetpaws; specifically sockpaws. I had made my payments pretty quickly, all under friends and family because I knew I could trust them. I knew that they were my friend. (This was before I knew to always send payment for commissions in business PayPal.) I understood that I was going to be put at the bottom of the queue as there were others ahead of me. I wanted Ohm to feel comfortable knowing that I was going to be a reliable and understanding customer. If I remember correctly, a few people prior had either canceled commissions or asked for refunds from Ohm. I didn't want to cause anymore trouble or hassle than was needed. I do recall Ohm having trouble making ends meet for the apartment rent and even groceries a lot of times. I thought it might be helpful to add on to my order, handpaws, and to even buy artwork from them too, which were both added on at a later date. Throughout the whole process I did not have any knowledge of where I was on the queue, when my materials arrived, or when the sockpaws would even be started. The one time I did reach out to ask about it I was told that parts are not on the public queue because they would be done in-between bigger suit work. Ex: heads, bodysuits, etc. I was very patient and still hopeful, yet a bit weary at the lack of communication. Then there came a point where whenever I talked about my commissions I was ghosted. I would see Ohm's profile say "Online" and message them at those times, but never got responses. Then there came a point where what I wrote was not seen. I gave it some time, since I knew the IMs for Ohm was kinda glitchy, but then hours became days, days became weeks, and then months. Every chance I got to reach out to them it's always an, I'll get to you later. We can do it by x date. I'll be sure to get back to you. Deadlines came and went. Now here we are 3 years later I see commission after commission being completed. Heads, bodysuits, handpaws and feetpaws, many artworks, yet I have no idea where I am on the queue. I have absolutely no idea if my items have even been started since 2017. Now, I see Ohm opening up again for more commissions once more. I just want an honest answer, what happened to my order, to my items? I know now I won't be able to get my money back. As much as I don't want to admit it, I don't think I'll ever get my hands, feet, and art from them at all either. I know now that we're not friends anymore too. And it sucks that it had to end this way. I really wish the best for them, OhmegaSuitStudios can go far, but please Ohm, my once close friend, don't do this to anyone else. Don't let others wait for months, years even for a response on where they are on your queue. Leaving them wondering if you ever started on them. Making them feel like a burden to talk to you because the items have become the only thing to talk about. So that's why I wrote this beware. Be aware of what OhmegaSuitStudios, Ohmnog, Ohm Protho has done. I hope this never happens to anyone else. I hope I'm not too late either… Evidence: Note: I included all of their WIPS/Updates channel to date for proof of no knowledge of my own order being worked on Anything new will be added in the "new information" folder **All personal email, names, and addresses are drawn over for our privacy and protection. As of Sep 12, 2019 at 11:55 EST, I have been refunded in full. This beware will still stay up however as reference. All new evidence is in the "new information" folder. I can't believe it took almost 3 years for me to get refunded...
  14. Until something is done to protect people who pay for fursuits, this will always happen. There is too much power in the hands of the suit makers and this just opens the way up to scammers. Paying over 3000$ upfront for something and having a no-refund policy slammed in your face is disgusting. I get that this person didn't nessaserily have a no-refund policy, but you never really got a refund anyway. This is why from now on I'll be paying the whole amount at once through goods and services, and if progress isn't made within the PayPal deadline for a refund, I'll be making a claim. Been scammed way to often by fursuit makers, and something needs to be done. Cost of the materials up front, payment on completion. That's how it should be. I'm sorry you had so much trouble. Some Fursuit makers, new and old, seem to be getting way too greedy and taking way more orders than they can handle. Because fursuits take way to long to make after payment, PayPal will not cover the refund because "too much time has passed" this really has to be addressed somehow.
  15. May. 1st, 2012 at 3:10 AM fenrirs_child WHO: Flarveon WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/flarveon/ but purchase happened on FursuitAuctions here on LJ WHAT: Fur purchase WHEN: Purchased March 9th/10th, Paypal forced refund went through yesterday. PROOF: Purchased from this posting: http://fursuitauctions.livejournal.com/2417221.html (post is too long to capture on my computer, but here is my purchase agreement http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/2488/tneonorange001129.png ) Paypal record (including forced refund) http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9485/flarveonpaypalredacted.png EXPLAIN: I saw Flarveon's posting on FursuitAuctions for some neat furs from NZ, and I picked a few out and promptly sent payment. Initially, due to the large response, she said she would pick the furs up from the store on Thursday or Friday her time, and mail them out same day or Monday. I didn't hear anything back, so I sent her a message on LJ that I didn't receive a reply to, so I noted her on her FA on the 19th. I got a response back right away, saying she'd been delayed and she'd be going on Wednesday. http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/408/firstnotecolors.png (I am red, she is blue) I believe I went to note her after this time, and her profile said at the top not to note her, so I believe I made a shout instead. I can't seem to find my screencap of the shouts I made though. Well, after I did that she made another posting on fursuitauctions updating everyone that she would be going on Monday http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7953/fursuitauctions001241.png <-second from bottom post). I didn't hear anything from her, so I commented on that post on the 27th asking for an update. That went ignored. http://fursuitauctions.livejournal.com/2435651.html#comments I also made a shout on her page. I don't have her page, but I do have the reply shouts she made on mine from my control panel http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/1616/usercontrolpanelfuraffi.png So, she said she picked them up, and couldn't get to the post office. Well, didn't hear anything again, so I believe I made another shout, which prompted her to make another post on Fursuitauctions she's going to pick it up on Wednesday http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7953/fursuitauctions001241.png top post I commented on that post on the 10th asking for an update, no response. On the 11th, I got some shouts saying she had gone to pick up the fur, but there was an earthquake, so she would refund instead and was transferring money to her paypal (as seen in above link of shouts). I didn't hear anything for a few days, and it came to the end of the window for dispute, so I filed for it and sent the rest of the people who had purchased furs on that post a heads up that the dispute window was closing. After myself and another person filed our disputes, she posted this on FursuitAuctions http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5968/fursuitauctions024900.png so I noted her http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/5913/flarveonnotecolors.png (I'm red, she's blue). She says she will respond asap, but this is the last communication I received at all from her. I gave the dispute 4 days for a response, and I know she had internet because she commented on plenty of stuff in the meantime. I escalated the dispute to a claim, and at no point during the ten day period for seller response did she respond, so Paypal pushed my refund through. I'm grateful for that at least, but this whole ordeal was unpleasant to say the least. Any sort of update had to be prompted by me, sometimes through several methods of communication. I got told at least three different stories about the fur being picked up when it hadn't been, and by not responding in any way to the dispute/claim she made this drag out as long as possible. I'm sympathetic to the earthquake situation, but it has to be said if she had gone and done this at any point in the preceding month (what was it, three times she had said she'd go, or four?) the earthquake would have had no bearing on this transaction whatsoever.
  16. @Lemonbrat This is... Insane. If you were uncomfortable making the suit without a DTD, you should've cancelled the commission. Several things needed to be reworked because they were done incorrectly in the first place. The head was CLEARLY A MOUSE. This character is a cat. The first tail was way too thick for a cat. You have made tons of cat fursuits. None of their tails look like that first one you provided. The final product has atrocious sewing. Forget the wrinkles. Look at the seams. The tail attachment IS messed up. Those are the marks of someone who didn't know what they were doing and tried to over-correct when they should've just started over. I've made those same mistakes. You do make good suits. You make tons of feline suits even. This suit is nothing like those previous suits, and even if the customer isn't blameless, this suit is absolutely not worth what OP paid. Someone(s) on your team messed up, and you should have had some sort of oversight to prevent giving photos of this "finalized" suit. Even if the commissioner was a total [newbie], this fursuit should've never seen the light of day in this condition. I can't believe you're doubling down on it. It is absolutely nothing like the quality you usually offer.
  17. I misread the messages and was thinking "Well yeah thats a VERY good rodent base I wonder what the problem is" then I realized that somehow it was supposed to be a cat...wtf. As someone who's seen their fursuits in person at furcon this is CLEARLY not even close to the quality they're able to put out. my partner was considering purchasing one of their premades last furcon and was going to check out their booth with me this year if they had one again. I'll let them know to not give them any business and look elsewhere. The quality is absolutely appalling and you deserve much better. I wish you the best of luck at getting the money back or what you paid for. Though I'd assume a person would prefer their money back so they could pay someone who actually knows what they're doing and respects their customers instead. thanks for taking the time to post this beware
  18. First, the no refund policy absolutely doesn't hold up and them trying to enforce that is ridiculous. Secondly, that is clearly a rodent head. I can't believe they were actually doubling down that the rodent head would magically look like a cat head once furred. I don't see that working at all, the muzzle and cheeks are the wrong shape and the ears are very round. There's a reason foam bases are used and it's because they affect what the final shape looks like. Just a really weird beware As for the tail, curved tails like that are often made so they don't drag on the ground, most fursuits have curved tails like that regardless of the character unless they're floor draggers. It keeps them from getting dirty.
  19. I commissioned this individual July 28, 2018. I had recieved one WIP image, and then nothing after that. No updates were given to me unless I asked, and I didn't message them often. It got to a point that they weren't responding, so I had to go and see if they had any other social media just to contact them. January 4th hit and I realized I was never going to recieve my artwork. So I asked for a refund, and they said it could take days to weeks. I said okay and left it be for literally months. I then messaged them recently. They read the message, and ignored it. So I called them out on it and they responded very rudely. They are extremely unprofessional, I do not recommend them. Please, do not commission this individual for artwork or even fursuits. You are not guaranteed to get what you payed them for, and I highly doubt they'll ever actually give me a refund.
  20. I met Finley at AnthroCon while they were running a booth in the Dealer's Den. There were suiters attending the con in suits that Finley had made, and the tails they had on display were of good quality. We talked for a while about pricing a fullsuit, how long delivery dates were, how deep the queue was. At that point, I decided to commission a Full Digitigrade suit from them for $1600. Communication was great until December, at which basically all communication ceased. The only reason that Finley responded here was because I had 2 emails: I am open to marking this Beware as "resolved" if and when the refund has been processed on PayPal. New information as of 7/1/2019. I was promised a refund (partial in June, the rest in July). Finley has not been in contact since those promises were made. I've attached the email conversation below, and you can see comments for more info. At this point I'm forced to raise this to Beware status from it's current Caution status.
  21. Update! I managed to get my points back but they didn't come from Cotton. They came from a "friend" of theirs who claimed they didn't know if Cotton had another account and they messaged me out of the blue because they saw my DA journal regarding the matter. I have reason to believe that Cotton does have a second account as all their characters are magically on a new account that is actively communicating with the account that refunded me. I do believe the only reason I was refunded at all was because of the Journal I had up on DA, and the beware. Neither of which I have any intention of removing (I will update them to say I was refunded by a third party though) because it reflects their doggy nature, and in the end the end the points came from a user I don't recognize claiming the Cotton hates confrontation. So do I, but I didn't have a choice and wasn't about to stay quiet about not getting refunded.
  22. At the beginning of 2018 I took Codeine up on a deal. She was to do me a couple's sketch page with flat colour for a grand total of $200. As of now, it is still ongoing and I have two basic sketches (not-coloured) which was shown to me at the end of April 2018. (I'll come back to this later.) Proof of Purchases From the initial purchasing of the commission to the first sketch update, I always had difficulty communicating with her, whether it was due to no replies on Discord or her emails. This is a long running trend that is still happening today. She has said multiple times that she has personal issues going on, some to do with mental health and some to do with money. I have tried my best to be cordial and to respect the time she may take as I can understand is can be difficult. But even after a year there really has been no progress on my end all the while she still accepts more and more commissions without ever really seeing them be uploaded. (Of course, these people may have very well gotten their work done, but Codeine told me something herself which makes me doubt that.) Large and Unmoving Backlog She told me once that she had a backlog of near 100 people but only works on those that continue to pester her (like myself). Obviously at the time of hearing it, I thought it was a little peculiar and borderline scam-like but I tried to stay positive and said at least it lets her focus down on 'urgent' ones and such. I'm fully aware I could considered mean or inconsiderate to go back on my word of not outing her, but at this stage I feel like I want to get the word out. With all the hubbub of Jailbird working up a backlog and constantly taking more made me think of it, and if I can stop people from falling into this pit like me, then good. From the horse's mouth the artist has a fairly dodgy work ethic / professionalism since it seems a lot of people's money has sunk into the void. Potential Attempts at using my wallet more I would take this one with a grain of salt, but it also showcases the long periods of time I would often have to wait for any kind of communication. She once drew to my attention an adopt for a character going and she started out by saying how much they liked drawing my character, and if I were to buy this adopt for her, I'd get a steady flow of art with them together. To her credit she said it was quite a selfish ask and didn't seem bothered by me declining. However it was followed by a particularly long period of time without any word from her after having finally just been in regular contact with her. Her initial proposition on Jan 17th. A period of time without contact from the 17th of Jan to the 20th of Feb. (Now, I personally feel this was because she failed to get the character out of me BUT I am happy to be proven wrong and to state that as more my opinion than anything else.) This further shows poor communication on her end, creating a frustrating time on my end. Combinations As time went on, I foolishly continued buying smaller things from her which also were never completed HOWEVER she did offer to combine them into the price of the sketch page. With everything said and done, she dropped a few patreon rewards and sketch slots I purchased completely in order to put more detail into the page. This included a piece of work that she left as flat colours instead of finishing, saying that would go into the page as well. We ended up basically having her owe me the same full sketch page but fully coloured, fully shaded instead of just flats like we originally settled upon. (Which I was happy to accept, of course.) Recent Endeavours and Attempting Refunds Lately I've been asking her for refunds on the page. Since its been so long since I've had an update, and trying to get into contact with her was a trial within itself, I started talking more about simply putting it to rest and getting me my money back. There are many things I'm still due from her but have stated I'm perfectly happy to just focus on the very original $200 and forget about the extras added on and the little sketches I bought on the side. Just the other day she responded and tried to say that the amount of work she's already done is worth $260. Even though she had this to say about the original. This was the picture in question that I asked for price on. This image, flat coloured would be worth $200 in her own words, that we settled upon and I paid. Compare that with what she had managed to do for me in one evening that she is saying is worth $260. We since moved to Twitter to speak, since I generally found better success getting her there, and I could see whether she read my messages or not. She said it was worth $260 because she has apparently done more work on it since (That I have not seen so I haven't been able to even approve it.) though I can't help but imagine she will quickly draw something up or colour a part of it to show me when she next gets back into contact with me. (Which to be honest, if she does then fine. I won't want money back for work that has been done, that's the whole point.) But as it stands, that's all I have to show for my money. Conclusion and where I am now 4 days ago Codeine explained to me she was away from home for personal reasons and assured me she'd be away for 3 days max and would be home to talk with me further about all of this. Obviously, she has not but has read a post I sent to her earlier today. (Still past the 3 day limit she set.) I have essentially been left on read at this point in time. The blue tick means someone has seen your post. Grey is the opposite. These were from today. 8 hours ago and 52 minutes ago respectively. I ultimately didn't want to make this as I hoped we could come to an agreement and I could let it all go. But after constant delays to periods of time she comes up with herself, I promised to myself I would write this up and be done with it if she failed to meet the next deadline. (Yesterday.) Even if my own issue never gets resolved I hope this might at least make a few more people aware that it might be best to steer clear from this one until her backlog seems to be more under control.
  23. Given their poor communication skills and the fact that they've been doing this to customers since 2013 I think you should cancel the commission and get a refund. It is also very frustrating to read a beware like this. I am upset that Fox is treating you poorly and that you can come here and tell us how you feel, but that you haven't been firmer with the artist. I think you should tell the artist how much this situation bothers you. I understand you are trying to be nice, but passive disappointment and just looking sadly at e-mails isn't going to resolve this!
  24. http://fursuitreview.com/blog/2016/01/24/no-langurhali-partial-by-blue-fox-fursuits/ Apparently they've been having communication problems and missing deadlines for many, many years.
  25. I am so sorry this happened to you, OP. And this is why I'm terrified of commissioning fursuits. I cannot stand how irresponsible this person was. Yes, life gets in the way, yes, accidents happen, yes, mental illness kicks all of our tails. However, using those as excuses to not work, is never acceptable. If it doesn't fly in an office building, it doesn't fly in the artist's/fandom's world either. Also, using mental illness as an excuse feels like a personal attack on the rest of us. Being mentally handicapped (depression, anxiety, what have you) is not a free ticket from work. You offered a service and you didn't deliver. Simple as that.
