About Me

  1. I was looking around for a new fursuit bodysuit to order, since I was heavily dissatisfied with my current fursuit quality. A friend of mine recommended that I went to Sugar 'n Spice, since CorpseCat (the maker) was hosting a tax return sale, and was offering a bodysuit (only) for $950. I sent her a message, and this is how it started off. I sent her a full down-payment, the DTD, and even the fur colors that match the rest of my fursuit, all the next day. I sent her a reference, as well as a very length description. She said that she totally understood, so I assumed that this was going to be a good commission. I asked when the bodysuit was going to be done, and she said that it was going to be done around MFF of 2019 or sooner. She promised that progress photos were going to be included. I asked for my fur samples back that I sent her (so that I could send them off to another maker that was going to make my new fursuit head). I gave her my address but she never sent them back. On 8/31/2019, she said that she was almost done with the bodysuit. She never sent a single progress photo. She is also claiming that the fur colors are not exact to the ones that I sent her, but they are incredibly close... Lots of nudging later, still nothing. She claimed that her boyfriend has been in the hospital, and sent a picture (cropped out the picture for privacy). She has made plenty, plenty, plenty of excuses in the past about her health in the past (you can find them in almost any beware about her). 1-2 months before the deadline, and I asked her yet again if the bodysuit was on-track to being completed on-time. Her responses are predictable: Lots and lots and lots of asking to try and get ANY kind of photos from her. She brings up another health excuse with herself (which, as fake as it seems, I'm still censoring it for privacy reasons). At the bottom of the next screenshot is when the bodysuit is supposed to be done. No photos were sent. She brought up that the bodysuit wasn't going to work with my current fursuit paws and feet. She offered to make me free paws and feet, at the expense of delaying the TAT more. I asked later how long that it would be delayed, and she said that it could take another month. I was fine with that, but I asked for progress photos again while I had her attention. Guess what? Another medical excuse. I eventually lost it at this point. About a month later, I still received ZERO photos and ZERO updates about the suit being made. I looked at her WIP Telegram channel, and I didn't see any photos of my suit being in there. I called her out in this next screenshot, and this is when I began to lose it. She said that she was going to send photos, but once again, nothing. At the bottom, when I said that I was going to start taking action, that's when I decided to write a script for the YouTube video (at the top of the post) that was going to call her out and her poor business practices: I asked for her response one last time before making a video about her. She said that it's prepared to get shipped out, but has NEVER sent me a single progress photo: She finally sends photos on February 11th. She admitted that she ignored my reference in order to make the hip markings look more visible. I corrected her, and she said that she was going to fix it. I resent her the reference to show her how the hip markings are supposed to look: They are three fingernail-looking markings that are on each side of the waist. She made the markings go completely around the back. I asked how long that it was going to take to get the markings fixed. She said Friday (so three days at the time) until they were going to be fixed. I asked her for photos before she sends them out, and she said that she was going to send them when she gets to her office. Nothing happened. I asked again, she brings up another fake health excuse. She later sent me an image of the hip markings without any changes, and she said that she was confused about what was wrong about it. She waited over a month before telling me this, even though she said that she knew what she had to do, and that she was going to take three days to fix it: In this next screenshot, this was the time where I finally uploaded the video that I warned her about. I was going to give her a last chance before posting it. This is the last time that I've heard from her. I'm assuming it's because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but either way, her Telegram said that she hasn't been online within a week. She promised that she was going to send it out, and I never gave her my address until I saw the final product: This is the last that I have heard from her. I got into contact with PayPal, and they said that it's been past 180 days, and they cannot do anything about this situation. I paid CorpseCat through a bank account that I closed in the past. I got in-contact with this bank yesterday (4/21/2020), and they said that they can't do anything about the transaction because my account has been closed for so long. I am $950 poorer with nothing to show for it. I attempted contact with her multiple times, and nothing has been happening since then. When I created this thread, it showed that she was seen last within a week. Since I updated these new screenshots, it now shows that she's been seen recently. Meaning that she has been online but hasn't read my messages. I warn/advise everyone to stay away from this maker. There are four bewares about her on the first page of Google when you type "sugar n spice fursuits". This fursuit maker is unbelievably toxic, and I do not want anyone to order from her, either. It was partially my fault for not doing my research before ordering from her, so therefore, I want to make sure that nobody else does the same. DO NOT ORDER FROM SUGAR 'N SPICE!
  2. Product was listed by seller in multiple "dealers den" chatrooms on the app Telegram. The product is a fursuit/costume head base made of upholstery foam primarily. I was interested in the product and contacted the seller with inquiries. I asked them "can you tell me more about it?" [image 1], and was only told the price, location of product for shipping costs, permissions with the product, and other materials provided. This product was to be purchased from the seller, I would fix it up and make it into a character, and resell it once the product is completed. This was understood by the seller, as we had discussions about my permissions with the base and the character it was to be made into. Upon arrival, the product was not only crammed into a box that was too small [image 2; showing the size of the product and the box itself], but it also reeked of cigarette smoke. Upon confrontation, the seller confirmed that their mother smokes in the house [image 3]. I cannot clean or sell a product that has been this exposed to cigarette smoke- it is a hazard. There was an attempt to clean it before I contacted the seller with my complaint, which included drier sheets on the interior, and spray cleaner on the exterior. Nothing seemed to help. Seller also explained that they can only "do 20% nonrefundable on any refund"/"u will only get an 80% refund," but this was not provided in a Terms of Service beforehand (on Telegram or Paypal) and was not discussed whatsoever. I did not feel comfortable following through with this offer, since it was given once I brought up a refund, and it is even less than what it originally sold for. During our conversation, I also discovered that the seller is using a Paypal account that is not in her name [image 4]. I am providing buyer with a tracking number for the returned product. As of April 22nd, Jaime claims to have re-sold the fursuit head base that is not even in her possession yet[images 5 & 6] (not until an expected April 25th). Jaime managed to advertise that it comes from a smoke-friendly home [image 7], HOWEVER, Jaime refuses to do so in other ads [image 8]. Overall, extremely unprofessional, rude, and does not seem to care about the safety of their customers. Original ad: My friend inquiring about it, and then forwarding it to me:
  3. Zeska Roo/Daze Otterson had made a post on his account saying he needed money, so he discounted his fursuit prices (post was deleted, so I do not have a screenshot of that). I was wanting some indoor paws because I really enjoy the aesthetics of them. I commented on the post and we took it to PMs. Here we are hashing out details of what I wanted. He states that they don't do invoices. It off set me since I just comissioned someone who did do invoices, but I know each artist is different, so I didn't pay any attention to it. Proof of payment I ask if he has a queue of any sort, he claims he is working on a trello. After a month and some days, he gives me a -sorta- deadline, so I don't bother him for a while. November 6th, he asks if anyone is wanting to get a fursuit. I contact him on November 26th, I message and get no reply or even left on read, so I ask for a refund. He sends his friend [redacted] to speak to me (screenshots ahead has his face blocked out because he's not guilty in this and I feel uncomfortable with having his face in this) So I go to telegram to talk to Zeska/Daze (last 4 of number is blocked out) He has posted again on FB saying he's no longer on post block as seen in the screenshot below (but I didn't see it till some days after since I had unfollowed him) So after radio silence, I messaged on Telegram (seen in screenshot 9) and after a little more silence, I messaged on Facebook (screenshot 6) Here, he is seen still posting on Facebook after my message on Telegram. And here he is seen still posting after my message on FB. I have since forced a refund as seen in the screenshot below. I don't know if others have had this issue, so that is why this is under Artist Caution.
  4. Back on June 27, 2019 I commissioned Nakooma for a predesigned fursuit head, the cost of the head was $200 and the extra $5 was for any Paypal fees (later on I gifted them $20 due to them saying in a post on their profile that they really needed it after someone forced a refund, I dont really care about the $20 they can keep it). From June to October I was given excuse after excuse as to why there were delays. Last I received any messages back from them was October 17, 2019 where they had promised progress pictures, which I never was sent. Since November 20, 2019 to now I have messaged them with no answer, during this time I know they were talking with ppl on their Furry amino (which is now deleted) and had completed a couple commissions that were started after taking mine. Nakooma said they started working on the fursuit head but I'm not sure if this is true due to no progress pictures ever being sent. Neither my bank or Paypal can help me due to me taking to long to getting around to the issue and only suggestion I got were to "directly contact merchant for a refund", I had life stuff going on that distracted me from getting to this sooner though I wish I could get my money back it's much more important to warn ppl to stay away. Nakooma supposedly had life stuff going on back before June through November (last I heard) from what they told me but if there was too much going on they should've just declined the commission instead of taking mine to then complete other commissions and then completely ghost me. By now I have already left the DM I was in with them guessing that they'll never respond or they would never give my money back even if they did see my messages. I just wanna put this all behind me but make others aware.
  5. Seconding this. Their track record in regards to fursuit commissions and business ethics is dismal, so it's no surprise that also crosses over to their 2d art
  6. ZappBEAST / Azoth is an artist/fursuit maker i had found on twitter. I had saw them Post up a YCH on twitter and his instructions were to DM him. I don't know how long this person's Commission queue was, and i was never given a trello so i could never see. On the 18th the artist posted more YCHs on their twitter and also explained that their ipad had broken, which is why they needed to open more slots. I offered to help but there was misunderstanding in price for the YCH so we just ended up talking about his ipad/tablet situation. About two weeks later on the 31st, he also mentioned hes having problems with clients for fursuits. At the time i tried to empathize with them, but looking back at it now, it seemes like another excuse for a delay. A whole month passes, with promises of starting my commission soon, and then another whole month passes before work actually begins on the piece. All of this while his twitter and telegram group gets tons of posts with personal art and more YCH slots. while he provided sufficient updates and stuff at the time, another two weeks had gone by and more personal art and other commissions were finished before me. While nothing wrong has been inherently done, and a lot of stuff has been thrown his way, a lot of his practices are very suspicious and their workflow seems chaotic at best, and their return time also seems really bizarre. I dont think ill commission this person again, especially for the price and even if its really good art.

Where did you find this maker? I can't find anything about them online except one empty FA profile (which says they are 17??) I hope you get your money and DTD back - but the price, the lack of previous customers who can vouch for the maker's previous suits and lack of an online presence or any kind of portfolio is a GIANT red flag. I also think it's quite suspicious that they claimed to have made two other suits (or 1.5, if you consider the personal one was only partially finished) and couldn't produce proof of that? I've never heard of a 'private' fursuit commission - I suppose they might exist but it's shady as that the only previous commission they'd done was a 'private' one 😕

"Fursuit maker" "Space Meme" (herein refered to as "Maker") was paid $625 to create a costume / fursuit, (herein referred to as "Fursuit") materials and money, along with a ":duct tape dummy" were sent. Maker never created the Fursuit or produced any product, and was asked to refund money and or return materials, neither of which were refunded/returned as of 2020 Jan 3.
  9. I first began the commissioning process with Beasthorizon back in February of 2019, where we spoke about what I wanted and they told me that a head would take 4-8 weeks : This agreement was reached on February 2nd, then I was not responded to for several weeks. When I reached out again they were able to answer within the day, claiming they had been injured but that my project still interested them, and that in 2 weeks my project would be first in line. This would set a completion date of roughly May 8th to June 3rd. Note: I say 'claiming' because they were able to finish a separate project without communicating to me at all. Over the next few days we worked out a 3d model for the head, and the base was printed after I paid my half down. I was told that they would contact me once the horns were finished being printed. I was never contacted regarding that. At this time, they posted on their twitter about making a model for a 3d head, and then finished the head. In their sales post they mentioned a new email to contact them at which was an email I had not been given. Since they made that tweet they deleted it, but I have a screenshot of the email I sent them after they posted it. Note: This is on July 26, already almost 2 months past the original expected completion date. My head was mysteriously halfway done without them ever contacting me. This has been a series of red flags I ignored because I was happy to see progress had been made. I am told by them in this email that everything but the LEDs will be finished by July 30th. On August 9th I reached out to them because they have mentioned on their twitter about opening commissions once again. I ask for a second set of horns, thinking my head is nearly finished. They agree to adding on the second set of horns. Looking at the time stamps, you can see that after they spoke to me on August 9th, they then never answered again for months. The time stamps read: Aug 31, Sep 23, and Oct 6 on this thread. On November 1st I sent another email to them, detailing the timeline of events up to that point and asking them to respond or face a chargeback and/or beware. They answered the next day, apologizing and offering that my head be finished or shipped as-is for the price of what I had already paid. I stressed the need to have my head by November 19th, and did not hear back from them. On November 13th, I reached out to them on Telegram after finding it and other information online that had been posted. I warned them about how I found that information, which has been censored here. They claimed they were finishing the final touches on my head and asked where it should be shipped. As of January 2020, I have not received any form of communication from them. They are still active on Telegram and have moved from Twitter to Etsy. If you go to any of their Etsy listings, it can be seen by scrolling down to the bottom left that they have been active on there as recently as December 19, 2019. They are offering customs there, while ignoring my continued attempts at contacting them. I have offered compromises wherein I pay more past the down payment to receive my head, still I am ignored. Shortly after January began, they removed my access to the fursuit head WIP folder, meaning they are aware of my attempts at contacting them and the subsequent Beware I was forced to write when they continued to avoid me.
  10. I won an auction for a Noivern fursuit a while back, and before I made my bid, I asked if the suit could be altered up a little to fit my size. She agreed. After winning the auction, I agreed to pay the extra charge, and I added her personal account on Facebook. Fast-forward to May 2016. I asked about updates, and there wasn't anything to show for. Fast forward two years, I asked again, and she claimed that her suit was lost in a move, and would have to remake it. Fast forward again, after more occasional and unsuccessful attempts at getting an update, this was the last correspondence where she had actually replied, which was on Discord. There has been no communication from her ever since that one message. I honestly should've made a post like this years ago, but what's done is done. And during this entire, years-long ordeal, she had continued to complete other projects, including other fursuits. I hope that this post serves to help people not go through what I went through.
  11. Given that I've lived in a place with mildew issues, I absolutely am baffled that if this was this strong that the rest of your clients didn't say anything. I am also similarly mystified that cleaning it didn't get the smell out. For context the day we moved in the smell of mildew was so intense that I, someone without allergies, had a headache for weeks whenever I'd go home. Our items, including my clothing, reeked. I had to keep a set of my uniform at work just so it wouldn't smell while I was at work. Yet once we moved out the smell went away after a wash or two. A few months out everything that couldn't be washed has already let the smell go. This includes my fursuit parts. I'm sorry, they absolutely did not deserve a full refund.
  12. So initially I commissioned them in January 2017 for a body suit of my bat oc. I do admit I didn't have a set date to give and was never given an eta on when it would be completed. I made a payment plan with them, so payments were sent at different times. Proof of payments: I paid 700 in total. I commissioned them through FA but getting in contact with them became a bit difficult, so conversations moved to Twitter. Read from bottom to top: After I tried to get in contact with them via FA and then their email, where I didn't get an reply. I contacted them on Twitter. Where it was still hard to get replies and updates on my commission. As seen it took several months for them to get back to me. I did my best to be patient. I know fursuit making isn't a quick process but we were into a year now. And they didn't have anything to show me, I could only take their word for it. Those were the only updates I received from West. With them saying they would draw the markings and cut up the patterns. I was happy to finally know progress was being made. Months go by and we're in 2019, it's basically been more than 2 years. And at this point I was fed up and requested a refund. They agreed to the refund and said I would have it that same month. Which was a lie and I am still waiting on a reply/refund. And at this point it's too late to do a chargeback. So I'm pretty much at a lost on what to do. I just thought I would warn people about their unprofessional business practice.
  13. Okay so I just forced a Paypal chargeback on her because she said she'd have an update for me, and a month later I had to find out on my own that she left. I commissioned her on facebook, so had no idea what her other social media accounts were, and had to track her down from her invoice. Only after I opened the claim did she actually respond to my message, but by then I wasn't going to let the claim go. I'm severely disappointed that she didn't let other clients know she was leaving, especially her fursuit clients.
  14. Back in July 2017 I applied for Dubmutt’s fursuit opening for a slot on their January-May 2018 queue. I wanted a fursuit head of my character Loki, he was to have magnetic eyelids, septum, and plugs. Everything seemed to be going well, I received an email accepting my commission and we moved forward from there. My suit was to be $920 with a $276 down payment. July 14th, 2017 I received the invoice and July 24th I made the down payment of $276. On December 26th 2017 I finished paying the invoice, and was told swatches would be sent out soon and I’d get an update when work was started. I reach out on February 2018 to see when swatches would be sent out as I was originally told beginning of December. I also wanted to see where I was at on the queue. Dubmutt told me swatches would be sent a month or so before starting and that I was scheduled for beginning of March. March 7th Dub reaches out to let me know they may need to cancel a few commissions while they focus on their health and that I will be updated. April 19th I reach out to dub out of curiosity of if my project was to be cancelled or completed. I was told mine was still scheduled. A few months go by so I message Dub on August 15th, 2018 to see if there’s been any updates. I am told they are finishing up two other suits and they were hoping to get to mine soon. January 8th, 2019 I reach out again to see if there was any progress. January 12th Dub replies to say they are finishing 3 suits and mine will be next, and to contact them through twitter from now on. August 31st I message Dub on twitter since it’s been quite a while, I ask if there are any updates or even an estimate on when my suit would even be started. September 9th Dub posts a PSA to twitter stating that they will be leaving the fandom, but owed commissions will be done. I haven’t heard from Dub since January 2019. At this point in time, I have received no word about my suit even being started. Update: 09/20/19
  15. In April of 2015 a brand of designer underwear with a hole for allowing a tail as to be worn with a fursuit was advertised. This brand was called Fursace. It seemed pretty legit at the time and so I pre-ordered a pair. Things were looking good, as an email announcing the beginning of shipping came about a month later. I looked forward to receiving my undergarments soon after. At this time they requested an additional $10 for shipping, which I thought was strange but I was okay with it at the time. Unfortunately a couple of months passed, no underwear, and then finally I received an email about delays with a bunch of excuses. I was sympathetic though, and decided to give them a chance, believing they would come through in the end. A few more months went by, no underwear. In mid December, I received yet another email with even more excuses and apologies, and a plea for people to not file PayPal disputes because they were DEFINITELY going to send out their product if people have them a chance because their PayPal account had been rendered unusable. Again I gave them the benefit of the doubt, something I now regret doing. They promised to work on getting orders out and that they would be waiving the $10 shipping fee (which I had already paid), but I never even got a refund on that. About a month passed and there was no word, and so I sent a DM through twitter. It went completely ignored. Then I made some tweets about the issue a couple years later and finally got a response in DM. We had a discussion and Dalmy said that they were rebranding and would be issuing refunds for Fursace once they finished with releasing the new line of apparel, now called Maul Apparel. I wasn't happy with this, but they wouldn't budge, so I just had to wait. I waited 5 months and sent another DM, which was completely ignored, and all current attempts to contact them about this issue in any way has been ignored. I really just want my refund, and for everyone else who never got their products to be refunded. But if I could get mine, I would say I am satisfied.
  16. PLEASE NOTE: In any screen cap dated after April 4th 2019 I had moved and there is now a 5 hour time zone difference between she and I. (this means that it may seem like I am messaging very early, but for her it is 5 hours ahead of my time stamp.) I was directed to Tamsin (Tammy) via a friend from whom I was purchasing a fursuit head. I had wanted to commission matching hands/tail/arm sleeves in time for Confuzzled. Tammy and I discussed prices and materials and I agreed to pay once I got paid. (The total was 130 GBP which is about $160 USD). I paid promptly upon getting my pay check: After I sent the payment there was apparently a hold up in paypal where they wouldn't release the money to her until I marked the item as shipped with no tracking needed. I was concerned but did as she asked since I had no reason not to trust her. She specifically stated that she needed the money released so she could order the materials quicker. I had some issues come up and ended up not being able to go to CFZ (Confuzzled). Due to this I expressed that I did not need them finished by the con deadline. I was still under the impression that she had already ordered the materials because that was why she needed me to promptly release the funds into her account. After the con passed I didn't hear from her, so contacted her in order to set up a deadline. She expressed that it was a bit hard to do the deadline I suggested because of work/school. I tried to compromise and just prioritize the most important parts first. By June 14th I was starting to feel a bit ignored, as I would see them online and they would check my messages and not respond. The friend who had originally sent me to them (Cas as mentioned in screen shots) mentioned that there were some issues between the two of them at CFZ, and I became afraid that she wasn't communicating with me because of my friendship with Cas, as I had been told that she was answering other messages. I admit that my behavior was a bit pushy in these screen shots, but I have been burnt several times by fursuit builders and was feeling anxious. We agree here on a Halloween deadline and I express that I will make a new ref with the updates I had previously discussed. I make sure to mention that I absolutely must see some sort of work started in July, since they said they would probably start mid July, due to my paypal protection window. I am still fine with the Halloween completion deadline, but just need to see some sort of progress, or materials to show the project is in the works. They express they are stressed due to personal issues. Concerned that this commission is adding onto their stress, I offer to just take a refund in parts if they are no longer interested or have the motivation/time to work on the parts. At this point she starts to seem a bit aggressive, so I inquire as to her having purchased the materials in case we need to work out her shipping them to me and subtracting the cost of shipping/materials from a refund. I was told by our mutual friend that she didn't actually buy the materials, and so I requested pictures from her in order to just prove that she had bought the items needed, as that was the whole reason she asked me to release the funds, so that she could more swiftly buy the materials. At this point she makes excuses one after another on why she can't provide pictures. I give her a deadline on when I must see materials. I agree to a Wednesday deadline to see the materials that week and reiterate that she said she needed the funds to order materials promptly. At this point SHE offers the refund and expresses when her paydays are. I feel this was done because she had never bought the materials and knew she couldn't provide proof in the time frame requested. At this point I feel I am being scammed and lied to, so I agree to the refund and offer her the option of half and half payments on the 27th of each month. I leave her alone for the rest of the month until the 27th where I then message her and remind her of my email. I see her active all day and get no answer while our mutual friend confirms that she's been answering their messages. They finally respond and claim they were working and then go silent again. I get a bit snippy and let them know that I will just file a dispute if I don't get the half payment on the promised day. She finally makes time to attempt to pay me and then gets upset about paypal fees based on currency differences. I try to remedy this by adding GBP to my paypal options, but it still charges a fee, which I tell her I will cover. She sends the first half of the refund, I confirm I got it and then leave her alone until July 25th, where I just send a reminder of the email for the refund. After contacting on the 25th of July 2019, Tamsin expresses that she needs a bit of an extension on the payment time because she is at a con. I thank her for letting me know and leave her alone until the day that SHE set as the new payment day for the final half of the refund. I decided to send an invoice for the remainder to see if that would keep her from having to pay a fee on her end. She claims she can't pay and cancels the invoice. I express that I am not really wanting to wait longer, as I already extended the deadline to Monday (which was the day SHE asked for). I give in and ask her to give me a definite deadline on when she can pay. She ignores me and I wait till the next day (July 30th ) to message her again asking for a definite deadline again. She says she couldn't pay because she had bills. I express that I am unwilling to wait another month because I feel at this point she is jerking me around. (Our mutual has expressed that she' had been spending money on frivolous things, so I felt I was being jerked around and scammed.) She makes a snippy comment about "not relying on her as a source of income" and it really rubbed me the wrong way. I got extremely upset and rather argumentative, as I felt that her statement was in direct contrast to her own behavior, (taking my money and spending it at an event while not even purchasing my materials). Our conversation deteriorated quickly. She continues to claim she bought fur but cannot provide any proof (pictures, receipts, tracking on shipments, etc), and completely twists the situation to paint herself in a better light. (Claiming I wanted a refund because I was broke, when she was the one who chose a refund over just providing proof of the materials that she swears she has bought.) At this point I feel that I am being jerked around and that she has no intention of paying me at all, so I decide to take things to Paypal and open a dispute. I know due to me changing email addresses between payment to refund, that it will dispute for the full amount paid. My intention was to simply send her back the half she had refunded previously once Paypal handled the transaction if she was unwilling to work something out. She proceeds to completely go ballistic once the claim puts a hold on her account. She claims she was going to pay me aft 8 because she was waiting on our mutual friend to pay her for something. This is information that she NEVER once brought up until I filed a claim. She in fact explicitly stated that she didn't know when she'd be able to pay. I initially refuse to cancel the claim because I don't trust her at this point and know that she is a liar. I attempt to make arrangements for the mutual friend to just pay me directly but he can't, as he is doing a bank transfer to her instead of paypal. They claim they will send the money as soon as I cancel the claim and their account comes out of the negative. I make the mistake of trusting them because I am not out to hurt someone, just want what is owed me. Big mistake. I cancel the claim and she ghosts me completely. I send a couple of reminders and get nothing. Cas (the mutual) confirms later in the week that they already paid her, and I still am getting nothing from her, either messages or money. I decide to try to be nice and just leave her alone except to send a reminder on the 16th asking if I will get pair, then left her alone for the rest of August until the 27th and message her again to see if I can get this finished. As of now she has read the messages and still refuses to respond. She has been active on her Instagram (selling adopts primarily), but has failed to answer or send the money. In summary, she is a liar, a scammer, and a thief and I hope that no one else ever has to deal with her or falls for her lies. The below screen caps show her publicly available information / social media accounts so that hopefully others can avoid her.
  17. Until something is done to protect people who pay for fursuits, this will always happen. There is too much power in the hands of the suit makers and this just opens the way up to scammers. Paying over 3000$ upfront for something and having a no-refund policy slammed in your face is disgusting. I get that this person didn't nessaserily have a no-refund policy, but you never really got a refund anyway. This is why from now on I'll be paying the whole amount at once through goods and services, and if progress isn't made within the PayPal deadline for a refund, I'll be making a claim. Been scammed way to often by fursuit makers, and something needs to be done. Cost of the materials up front, payment on completion. That's how it should be. I'm sorry you had so much trouble. Some Fursuit makers, new and old, seem to be getting way too greedy and taking way more orders than they can handle. Because fursuits take way to long to make after payment, PayPal will not cover the refund because "too much time has passed" this really has to be addressed somehow.
  18. So, I asked for the care instructions and "how-to" put the suit on information (for my specific suit) from Lemonbrat 2 weeks ago, the email finally arrived last night. The care instructions seem pretty generic, maybe even copied and pasted from some website online I don't know, it says nothing specifically about short, minky fur. It's not really an issue. I've asked for the material colours and the source, I said for repair reasons, but... I may have had other ideas in mind like comissioning a new suit from someone else using the same colours. I felt if I told them that, they would not have told me. Anyway, the sent me what seems to me like a really confusing image of the colours. Now, I only remembering choosing two colours. Champaign and Tawny, possibly Minky Black for my details. Now I asked them to add information on which furs where used for which parts. There are 3 shades of black alone. (I originally thought two) In total there are 7 different colours of fur listed in there email. As this is my first fursuit, I'm not sure it is normal practice, but I thought it might be worth mentioning anyway. Either I am having a really hard time understanding basic information, or communication is an really big issue. I've been at my first convention and already the fur is starting to bald in places. This is not a good sign. The zipper is constantly jamming, even when you ensure to make sure the fur is not in the way when you zip up. They've put a plastic puller on a metal zip on both the head and the back. It seems like instead of seperating the fabric and the fur, they've simply turned the zip backwards somehow - it's really strange. The zipper and fabric seem to seperate on the inside, but not where it counts on the outside. I'll provide more pictures soon. They're is no possible way to put this suit on, or get out of it without help. If you really need to get out of suit quickly in a medical emergency, be prepared to get cut out of it if you don't have a handler because it can easily take an hour just to get in and out of suit. 30-40 minutes if you really try to hurry. (impossible if you are on your own) Again, not sure if this is normal, this is my first fullsuit, but I thought my experience might be worth mentioning. [Edit: Thought it might be worth mentioning that the Fursuit Team and Security at EuroFurence, were constantly saying things like "Oh, the zipper keeps jamming, this must be a Lemonbrat suit" Just thought that might be worth noting] Camaro.
  19. Jun. 17th, 2012 at 9:08 PM Paskhowl Thylacine WHO: Akemi/Flarveon/Poppy Pandacoon WHERE: http://www.facebook.com/PoppyPandacoon http://www.furaffinity.net/user/flarveon/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/poppypandacoon WHAT: $15 digital bust badge commission WHEN: I answered Poppy's Facebook post advertising badge commissions to be done that night, on February 1st, 2012, and sent payment. The final product was delivered on May 26, 2012. PROOF: 1. http://imm.io/sZUf (payment, with date) 2. http://imm.io/sZUu (stream conversation part 1) 3. http://imm.io/sZUz (stream conversation part 2) 4. http://imm.io/sZUA (finished product, with date) EXPLAIN: She advertised doing bust badges that evening, so I sent her the payment (see link 1). She didn't do it that night, or the following night like she said. I'm very patient with commissions, so I wasn't too fussed. Within a week, she had a sudden interest in animation and worked on "jumping icons", including giving out free ones to people who requested it at that time on Facebook. Still not a big issue. A month later she still knew I was on her to-do list, by tagging me in a Facebook post, and said she'd clear up her list. Still nothing. I tried to contact her through email (on April 17) and several other occasions via Facebook private message and on her Facebook wall, but she still never replied to me. Communication was extremely difficult. Poppy frequently posts about what she is doing, but something always seems to be broken whenever anyone wants to contact her. (see link 3) At one point, she had adjacent posts on Facebook: one saying "the best way to contact me is email", and the one next to it saying "My email is broken, I'm not receiving them." Roughly three months from the commission date, I hopped onto her stream and asked her to start my badge, which had turned into a "full body feral upgrade", which I'm not sure was really an upgrade. I think she only said yes because she thought I was a new commissioner and wanted the money coming in. (see link 2) She stopped at the sketch stage because she had to go to sleep, but refused to work on it any further until I attended another of her streams, which wasn't practical for me. Over a week passed and I asked for a refund on her Facebook wall, which wasn't replied to. Ultimately, she only finished my badge because a friend of mine reminded her in one of her streams to do it. I could accept a lot of the delays if she bothered to actually respond to her commissioners. The outright worst part for me was her constant complaining on Facebook about a fursuit commission of hers being delayed, and how the maker was accepting new commissions before her one - meanwhile, she was doing the same thing to a throng of her own commissioners without remorse.
  20. Regarding fursuit care instructions, I can offer up a few things: Washing/Cleaning -Faux fur is safe to put in the wash, but I would turn the suit inside-out first. This will give you access to the digitigrade padding, which may allow you to remove it (If you do remove it, take notes/pictures of what you removed from where, and maybe also mark the pieces with a fabric marker so that you can put them back together in the right place). -Always wash your suit in cold water. -A delicate detergent is generally ideal, but your mileage may vary. (Sometimes, carpet cleaner is the only thing that works.) Some detergents, delicate or not, don't interact well with some furs. If you have concerns and have some of the fur available fur repairs, test it on a scrap piece before using it on your suit. -If you use a washing machine, use a delicate cycle. Also put your suit into a laundry bag to prevent it from getting caught on anything. Put your paws, hand and foot, into pillow cases to keep them from getting any weird stains onto anything else. -If you're hand-washing, your tub is your friend and you can use it for soaking. Drying -Fans are helpful. Very helpful. -Do not use heat for drying. It will melt the fur. -While a lot of folks will hang up their suits to dry, the weight of the damp fur can cause stretching at the shoulders. At Con Care -Dryer sheets are super useful for quickly drying out your head and paws. Scented ones can also help combat odors. -Disinfecting sprays (water and rubbing alcohol) are your friend and will help keep your suit fresh between wears. Keep the spray away from anything airbrushed or electronic on your suit. You may also need to keep it away from the eyes, depending on how they've been made. -If you haven't, invest in some UnderArmor and a balaclava to help keep moisture away from the suit whenever possible. -Take frequent breaks and put your health at a priority over anyone else's idea of magic. Travel -Have some kind of tote for travel. Some folks have things like footlockers. Others have plastic totes. I use a hard-shell suitcase. Hope that helps with some of the confusion around fursuit care. Sorry I can't help with any of the other issues!
  21. I'm sorry but it was explained at the time that the first image was a reference for the suit (it was actually a fursuit reference comission) and disney image was a refrence for colour only. The other two were simply extra images. I explained that from the start. Anything I asked for (lemonbrat calls them last minute changes) were items I asked for back in December 2018 on the order form. The only change I requested was the eye colour, I asked them to fix the head and tail because they were wrong. That's all. It's really interesting that all the Lemonbrat staff are badmouthing me on twitter and signing up for new accounts on here to try and twist and defame me, and make me seem like I'm in the wrong. They've done nothing but twist the truth, and censor dates and times on the email grabs. They've been venomous to me, and there downright harrassing me on twitter now by making false allegations, and making me out to be a "nightmare customer" I am recieveing hate comments, (albeit in the minority) because no-one is actually buying your stories, but I am getting hate comments none the less. I shouldn't be getting bullied for posting an artists beware, I felt I had the right to post this, and I shouldn't be getting harrassed for it. And I'm sorry but Lemonbrat's cost of making the fursuit is included in the 3600$ price. That's how profits work. [edit] An in addition to the conflicting reference images, Lemonbrat promised to make a sketch of how they wanted the suit to look before manufacturing it, almost 10 months later, I still haven't gotten that sketch. They were supposed to use that and work with me with the design. It's hard to work with an artist when they leave a fullsuit construction to 30 days before deadline. And only start on the main parts 2 weeks after shipping was supposed to happen.
  22. I have no horse in either of these races, but I've been following along and this is what I see: The reference images were bad. No doubt about that. Not only are the markings all over the place, but the image where shes on the hood of the car clearly has a lot larger muzzle and larger, curved ears than the more ref sheet design. If you didn't tell me that these are the same character then I wouldn't think they were. I might struggle to say they are the same species. If they were going more off the second image than the first, I can clearly see why they would use a more mousey base for the head. The ears and muzzle clearly make more sense. Honestly I would have paid for a professional fursuit ref rather than a normal character ref and some images. The less said about the lion king recolour, the better. I think there was a big lack of trust on camarofurry's part. From all the emails I have seen and read, little thought is given to compromise or actually working WITH the artist. I know you paid a lot of money, but when you commission another person for something, you need to work with them because, chances are, they know a lot better than you what they are doing. I think jumping to conclusions about the head and tail were big mistakes. The curved one is clearly more optimal for moving about in a real world environment. It might not be as true to the character as you want but, again, you need to make compromises and work with the artist. I've seen a lot of people say "Why didn't Lemonbrat cancel and refund if they couldn't do it?" but I think thats a bad attitude to have. I think Lemonbrat was confident that they could deliver what the customer asked for to start, so they agreed. By the time issues in production started cropping up the item was already 100% paid and they had spent work hours and materials on it. Lemonbrat has people and bills to pay. Its not easy to take a hit of $3600 PLUS cost of materials PLUS cost of paying the artists the hours of work wasted. By the time there were big problems, it was probably a better move financially to push ahead and try to deliver a good product. Now, the finished suit itself. There are clearly problems with it but I think its less an issue to do with poor quality work and more to do with the materials used. Lots of words have been typed about the seams and the way the tail is attached. I think we can all agree that such a big tail is going to put strain on that fabric. It needs a firm base to be attached to. It does look bad, I agree, and maybe something can be done to sort it, but I honestly think this was probably the best idea they had at the time. The fact it was being modeled by somebody shorter than the suit was designed for probably didn't help matters either. As the for the seams: They are always going to be here, regardless. The fur just isn't deep pile enough to hide them. I don't really see an issue with either them or the zipper. Its a costume, at the end of the day. Its gonna have seams and honestly I can understand why the zip is so prominent. I don't quite know what the commissioner was expecting zip wise. I don't think either side is blameless, but I think Lemonbrat was trying their best to work in a hard situation. There are always going to be difficult customers and you do your best to make them happy. I think there was a big issue of clashing ideas and both sides thought they knew better than the other. I understand why they won't give a refund for the reasons listed above, but I am glad to see they are trying to make fixes to the suit. I'm not sure what resolution would make camarofurry happy as she is clearly not getting her money back, but I hope she at least grows to like the suit once its in her hands despite the bad experience.
  23. I will provide lemonbrat's email response here. Apologies for the length of this post in advance. I am sorry that I used profinaty in my response to them, but it was out of complete shock at the suit, not in anger. I was not wishing any harm upon them whatsoever. They'd only sent me images of the paws, tail and head. I had been polite and patient with them up until this point. And the new head they sent me a close up side-shot. So I really couldn't see it all that well and it looked great from what I could see of it. Here is there email, and my response. *** Lemonbrat Inc, I will respond to your points below. Your points will be in italic font. Dear Camaro, I’m sorry that you are dissatisfied with your fursuit. We have provided you with the same high-quality construction that we provide to all our customers. I really don't believe that as several people on twitter, telegram, discord and artist beware have pointed out, you're premades are a lot better quality, and you're quality has been rapidly deterioraing over the years. Previous customers of yours are coming to me with support, and tell me they'll never buy from you again, even at your stalls at conventions. We would appreciate if you would stop trying to read “in-between the lines” of our emails, as we only mean exactly what we are saying. You have jumped to a few conclusions based on speculations, which isn’t helpful for anyone and seems to be causing you more stress that is necessary. Any "suspcions" I've had, have been echoed by other people, I show them your emails and photos, and they come to the same conclusion without my influence. So I really don't know what to say here. Maybe you are right and the 200 people in my friend's discord are all wrong. Your suit has been made in a timely manner. According to our email record, we provided you fur samples on May 5th, and in the proceeding, days had a number of exchanges asking questions about the details of your order. Mid-May is thus when we began the construction process. It is from that point that the designer started to pattern and design components. She was slowed by having to discuss a number of details with you because the main reference material was not exact to what was ultimately selected. For example; the addition of black ear tips, paw pads, and claws, etc that are not shown on the main reference image. If construction began in Mid-May that's just even more embarrassing that the suit turned out so rushed looking, and you say later in your email the person emailing me, and the person working on my suit were two different people but above you said the 'maker' was slowed by discussing details with me? I gave you four reference images, and explained back in October/November when I first ordered the suit, in fact I think it was even on the ORDER FORM about the black tips on the ears, so that is complete bullshit. I sent you four references images. 3 of those images had black tips on the ears! You can't blame me for any delays of details that were stated on the order form and initial emails sent to you when the suit was ordered. Claiming that we “only started a month ago” is inaccurate. I understand that you don’t see our day-to-day workflow. By the time we are sending images of a carved head and sewn together components, there has been A LOT of patterning and development. We simply cannot show WIPS of every single second of production. It was your STAFF that LED me to believe the suit construction started only a month ago. So if you started sooner, then that's not my issue. It's a communication fault (which you already partly admitted to) by your trainee person on the email system. You seem to be confused that the person who answers the emails is the same who carves heads / does other design work. I'm not the one confused about this, above you stated they were the same person, that the maker was in communication with me? We would like to clarify that the designer and seamstress working on the costume have spent 4 years with this company and are certainly not inexperienced. The most “green” person on the team is the one who was initially answering your emails who has been on the team for more than a year at this point. If this is true, that's embarrassing. If my company made me rush a product so much it looked really bad that would crush my spirit, I feel really bad for your seamstress right now. Every time you have responded to our WIPS with displeasure, we have responded within a day or two, offered corrections, and then made those corrections in order to meet your specifications. We have re-carved a head, remade a tail, made adjustments to the bust, remade the ears - all to try to achieve your vision as it changed throughout the process. When you responded saying you did not like the zipper and tail installation we also, immediately responded and offered to make adjustments. You didn't make 'adjustments' in my view, you 'corrected' really horrible mistakes. How do you explain making a mouse head for anthroporphic cat? The head should have been done from scratch, your adjustments made the head look wierd around the nose and mouth. But I was happy with that, then I saw the huge seem on the back. My fursuit looks like it had an autopsy for god sake! On April 1st you told us you were, “having trouble finding someone to do the DCD [sic] with me would something like [provided measurements] be okay?”. We agreed to accept the measurements with the caveat that we cannot guarantee exact fit. This was explained to you on April 2nd, which you agreed to. Your DTD would have been draped as soon as it came in, we could have easily started when you hit your 75% payment mark in February if we had had it. However, having to work with measurements is a much trickier process that has to be specially done by our top designer. Also, you waffled several times on how you wanted the bust to be made, from “speedbump” at the beginning, to two breasts (see your July 2nd email), to wanting the speedbump again on July 19th which caused us to have to pull the bodysuit from production in order to comply with the requested adjustment. This is not true, I asked for a speedbump and your Email person/ designer whatever they are, you can't seem to decide, said they could do breasts too. I asked for some time to think the options over and asked for speed bumps, so this is completely false. I have said not once, not twice, but three times that breasts would be UNSUITABLE FOR A CONVENTION AREA but your designer kept trying to push them on me. SOME CONVENTIONS HAVE BANNED THEM OUTRIGHT. I explained to your maker that I would provide measurements and send the DTD the next week, as I had someone to help me, oddly enough you left that out of your point, even though it was sent only a couple days later. You initially told us you wanted the suit in July for an August due date. It is unfortunate that your suit has run a few days overdue, but it’s extremely hard to keep on-time with so many changes and adjustments. Again your maker set the deadline for Mid-July, I was happy to wait past EF, maybe until christmas, but your maker or email guy, whatever the hell you want to call him, set that date not me, a date that you keep implying that I set, that is not true!! I asked repeatedly between February and April if the deadline was okay, because I could wait longer, but needed to know in advance because I had to make extra arrangements and pay extra for flight allowance if my suit was going with me. I asked if possible, could the suit arrive before August 12, but if not then it would be fine. So don't put the blame of the deadline on me its something you guys agreed to, and I gave you many opportunities to extend and you refused. We feel you supplied a reference image that doesn’t match your mental image of the suit but have still held us to the standard of what is in your head. There’s a reason why commissioners (us included) ask for accurate reference images and any specific preferences up-front (as you could have done from day 1 in our quote form) in order to avoid a tremendous amount of edits and back-and-forths in the production process. Again, I put the [intricate] details on the order form, including the ear markings. You seem to have a serious issue with communication and keeping paperwork in order. We feel that we have worked very hard on your suit, we have complied with every edit you requested, and are still willing to make the zipper and tail adjustments if you so choose. You are ineligible for a refund. As per our policies, we do not offer refunds on custom items, and that has been the case in our TOS for 4+ years. Time, effort, and money were spent making it, and re-making it to your specifications. Being disappointed with it at this stage and demanding a refund after all this work is placing an unreasonable burden on us as we have worked hard to make a good faith effort to create your fursuit in accordance with your preferences. Would this be the same TOS you changed earlier this year? The same TOS that changed the 75% mark to 100% and changed your refund policy to "within reason, minus labor and materials to..." "No payments shall be refunded" It's not been the same for four years, and your own emails to me proove that. It's a blatant lie. I have the email that says, and I quote "You will be bound to our old terms, as your suit was paid off before the TOS changed" my suit was paid of in April, so that means your TOS changed in April 2019, and thus has NOT been the same for the last four years. [ note - was not in email but lemonbrat changed there TOS in 2017 from no refund, to the policy I saw in 2018, they then changed it back in April? 2019 ] Please let us know if you would like the zipper and tail adjustment. I am very angry by the attitude and accusations you have made here, I would advise you make the adjustments to the tail and zipper only if it will not damage the suit further. Because honestly there are a lot of people, who agree that this suit is just embarrassing to your company. It's gonna hurt your business more than it's going to hurt me. Once you have finished making mistakes, I would really appreciate my suit being shipped by FedEx International 5-day like you promised. Regards, Camaro Cougar
  24. @Lemonbrat This is... Insane. If you were uncomfortable making the suit without a DTD, you should've cancelled the commission. Several things needed to be reworked because they were done incorrectly in the first place. The head was CLEARLY A MOUSE. This character is a cat. The first tail was way too thick for a cat. You have made tons of cat fursuits. None of their tails look like that first one you provided. The final product has atrocious sewing. Forget the wrinkles. Look at the seams. The tail attachment IS messed up. Those are the marks of someone who didn't know what they were doing and tried to over-correct when they should've just started over. I've made those same mistakes. You do make good suits. You make tons of feline suits even. This suit is nothing like those previous suits, and even if the customer isn't blameless, this suit is absolutely not worth what OP paid. Someone(s) on your team messed up, and you should have had some sort of oversight to prevent giving photos of this "finalized" suit. Even if the commissioner was a total [newbie], this fursuit should've never seen the light of day in this condition. I can't believe you're doubling down on it. It is absolutely nothing like the quality you usually offer.
  25. Your positive experience does not negate Camaro's negative experience. If Lemonbrat thoguht the time line provided at the time of commission was too rushed, or that they would be unable to provide a quality product to camaro for any reason, then the onus is on lemonbrat to cancel the commission. Lemonbrat clearly did not think that at any time and proceeded with the fursuit, delivering something that, regardless of the customer service issues, is extremely below the quality normally output from lemonbrat. This caution/beware is well deserved, and I hope lemonbrat steps up and makes this right by camaro.
