Unfortunately this looks more and more to be the case that the client was using a credit card that they should not have had access to. This generally happens when minors or adults get a hold of their parents' credit card. Or a parent involved in their life has discovered that they are running up a large balance on their own credit card. If you contact Paypal again there's a chance they can refund you the credit card chargeback fee.

I know InkedFur was surrounded with several controversies in the past, but had still planned to try getting some of my stuff on their site. Not now. I can't believe a business that so many people seem to know and want to buy from is so terribly unprofessional.
-
The answer to that would be both. We aren't here to gawk at someone's personal struggles or to speculate on their financial situation. She is going through a dire medical situation, and that's all that needs to be said.
-
She never posted or even kept any type of queue. She originally told me multiple times I'd be next, and then later said there was 10 people ahead of me.
-
Yes, and if they ever do "check... occasionally or whatever", I will be sure to keep you up to date on events.
-
I only wish I had seen this post well before I placed my commission in with them. I would have loved to do that but sadly it was with paypal; which is connected directly to my bank account and not a credit card... guess I should also switch that around for future commissions I make. I take it that there is no way to ever see this list unless they've given direct access to it huh?

" I will still be here to check on friends art or posts journals.. occasionally or whatever, " "occasionally or whatever" doesn't inspire confidence given where the OP is at now, as well as being blocked on Twitter. The artist absolutely should have contacted the OP directly if they intended to "occasionally or whatever" drop in for the foreseeable future. It's only good business. Mega yikes op. Please let us know if you actually get your refund when they "occasionally or whatever" decide to come back and do right by you.

I'm on mobile, and will get to it when I can!

Imo at this point a refund may be your best option. I know she makes more via her sketches than your original commission's cost, and she probably could knock out a refund sketch quicker than completing your image. Obviously it's not ideal to take more comms to refund comms, but its frustrating to not see you made whole for 4 years.

Yes, it's your own thoughts on the matter and you dumbed it down to "take it or leave it", but c'mon, look at that list of other people waiting for work, too. The funny part about your first part of this post is she actually gave a bonus sketch back in 2011 for hiding one of my other characters behind a sleigh while most other characters of that holiday themed image were much more visible. She went from caring about a customer to not.

They are factually incorrect. They are producing derivative work off of another artist's work. It being a Telegram sticker doesn't make the item's copyright void and open for public use. Gross.

Asking for a refund after this period of waiting would be admitting defeat and saying it's okay to treat clients like this, to be honest. Would you, after 4 years of waiting?

Glad we could come to a agreement on the matter! I look forward to solving the issue at hand. Thank you for your swift responses and understanding.

Ok, BIG update! Chesta reached out to me and she brokered a deal: complete one, refund the other two. I agreed to this deal, knowing this is better for both of us. She asked for my PayPal for the refund (which is NOT included in the screenshot for obvious reasons), which I gave. Proof of note: https://sta.sh/02j1vrss527 This is a great step forward. I'm looking forward to this.

Well darn. Then yes, you're definitely out of your money and art now. Now I think the best you can hope for is that she'll come back one day to properly refund you, as she seemed genuinely sorry. Nevertheless, I wish you the best luck for that. ?

I have tried before to say I am behind and people want to know why because I was just told that I was making excuses so I started giving reasons to why I was behind. No wrong doing intended by briefly explaining what was going on, didn't see harm in it.
-
And now she has sent me a second Note on my FA account apologizing for the first one.
-
Chesta sent me a Note on my FurAffinity because of the last comment I posted above. Also incredibly unprofessional... Edit: I don't know if I should share it here? It's almost accusatory, honestly. And it certainly makes me feel uncomfortable that she's contacting people outside of the OP because of this beware.
-
The fact they've been active everyday on twitter is just ??? I'm so sorry you had to pay such a huge amount and go through this ? I hope they finish your piece at least, since you can't chargeback anymore ? So crappy of them

I can understand how this looks, though I'm not asking anyone to deal with me. It wasn't an interaction I wanted, one I asked for, or even one I expected. I was raised to believe words are just words, it's people that give them power. It definitely comes across as abrasive and asshole-ish behavior. I curse like a sailor, my whole family does. This is in no way excuses, just insight. In the moment I don't see what I say as particularly bothersome because it doesn't bother me at all if someone was saying it to me. Everything he said to me was nothing that particularly threatened me or scared me, honestly I couldn't have cared less what he had said. If he had remained civil, I would have as well... but he didn't. IMO the verb is accurate. Appropriate? Probably not, but at this point we're arguing word schematics in a completely unwanted interaction where someone isn't getting his way so he just steals the character because my answer was no. I believe any attempt at being polite or kind to this person would have ended the same way, he would have continued on with character theft. The road I took to get there when interacting with him just probably wasn't the best, but it was much tamer than what could have been said or what he said himself.

I definitely agree with this stance. If someone came at me in this manner my response would likely be to kiss my entire ass, and they would get a block. People can't be "On" always.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but shouldn't this be a 'caution' rather than a full beware? They delivered your art, and though their priorities seem a little iffy, 3-4 months really isn't totally unreasonable for art.

Wow. That went south really fast. Adam was rude, but you were too, especially when you called him an asswipe in that one picture. A better way of handling would have been to say, 'I'm not interested, please do not continue this discussion.' and block him if he persisted. I would feel very uncomfortable dealing with either of you. I don't think either side looks great in this situation.

Looks to me like they were attempting to scam you by receiving the story before payment was made and when that didn't work, simply bailed.
