About Me

  1. I wanted to add to this post that I'd had a negative, but resolved situation with this artist as well (Never made a beware since it had been resolved, but I figured I could leave a quick summary here for readers to be aware of.) Readers should be aware that my situation took place in December 2019/Janurary 2020. The artist mentions this time frame in her response to the OP. I bought an older YCH in December, paid immediately, and then things went dark for two weeks. I took a glance at her gallery, and saw that there were many new YCHs posted, not a problem! But then I noticed that these newer YCHs also had some finished art pieces of those YCHs along with them (meaning people commissioned her after I already had, but were getting their art before me.) I sent her a pm asking about it, and she talked about getting back to work on her backlog soon. I asked her about the "backlog" thing because at the time of commission, it was never said that I was purchasing a backlog slot, as far as I knew I was purchasing a slot in her current queue. I also asked her for my specific place in her queue. She simply responded "ill finish it tomorrow" and that was it. I check her page again the next day, and she's advertising some YCHs along with a stream coming up that night where she'd be doing those YCHs during the stream. Still no word about my piece, so I sent her another PM. She said she'd be "finishing it tonight" and I asked if it would be done before, or after this stream, and she said "after". I sent her a message at that point voicing my concerns with how she was managing her commissions, that it was messing with my anxiety some, and directly expressed that I felt like I would wake up in the morning to an empty inbox. I woke up and she did actually have the image in my inbox. It wasn't fully complete, which I inquired about, and she told me she had just sent me a draft so I can "relax and not freak out anymore". Later that day, I did receive my complete images. I didn't appreciate the comment about me freaking out, when I simply expressed concern about how she was handling my commission, but I did receive the art in expected quality.
  2. Jan. 11th, 2012 at 3:10 PM wolfy_chan WHO: AutumnHoney on DA (previously known as Xx-Manda-Panda-xX on DA) WHERE:(new)http://autumnhoney.deviantart.com/ (old)http://xx-manda-panda-xx.deviantart.com/ WHAT: Custom costume hat to be made specifically by October, 2010 (for convention purposes) WHEN: July 5th, 2010 - Inquired about a custom hat commission, she seemed delighted about the project. Back and forth responses about the design and pricing for a few days. I asked that this project be finished before early October 2010 since I wanted to wear it to a convention, she agrees says it will be around 40USD so I send her references. July 7th, 2010 - She replies with the price of 60USD for the custom changes which was A OK with me. July 10th, 2010 - Sent the required amount via paypal. Payment was received with no problems. July 11th, 2010 - Set up a Skype movie conversation with her so she could show me the fabrics she bought for the project. They looked awesome and I gave her the OK to start. August 22nd, 2010 - Sent a polite PM asking how everything is going. No response. September 16th, 2010 - Sent her another PM asking if everything is okay. No response. October 10th-31st - I leave multiple messages on her dash, spaced out a few weeks in between to ask how everything is and to finally ask for a refund. No response to any of them and every message was 'hidden by owner'. November 27th 2010 - Way past due date with no responses to DA PMs, I email her politely asking for a refund, saying I will leave a negative review on her DA dash to warn further customers if she doesn't respond. No response. February 1st, 2011 - I have not tried to contact her since the last email, leaving another post on her dash. No response, 'hidden by owner'. February 22nd, 2011 - She closes her DA account. I leave another message, no response and hides it, reiterates closing the account in May, 2011. January 9th, 2012 - Somehow I remember about all of this and make an effort to see if this person is still on DA somewhere and I end up finding her. I contact her once more asking for a refund and stating I will post negative reviews on her business webpages if she does not refund me. She FINALLY responds saying that I have been 'harassing' her and will refund me but 'don't deserve it'. She has the gall to also say that she has 'tried to contact me' multiple times when I have not seen any sort of initiative to do so. PROOF: Response to the inquiry about a commission via DA PM on July 5th; Paypal payment sent July 10th, 2010; Name change on their paypal clarifies it's them on DA. The paypal notice used to be under their old name. (detail on that in explanation) EXPLAIN: Ugh, okay. Let me be the first to say that I am normally a very patient person when it comes to commissioning things. I myself am an artist and I take commission work regularly, so I know all about commission woes and the such-- but it pisses me off to no end when you get no response for months and YEARS at this point only to find out they moved to a new account then try to say they contacted you multiple times when I have gotten NOTHING of the sort for years. As the timeline states above, I commissioned Manda-Panda on July 5th 2010 to do a custom hat for me and they seemed thrilled to pieces to do it. Price was set, I paypaled them promptly and everything seemed to be going fine. We even set up a skype conversation and she showed me on a webcam all of the materials she bought to make it and they all looked awesome. We agreed it would be done by October so I could wear it to a convention where I was going to sell my artwork in costume. Time goes by and I don't hear anything about updates or progress, so I send another friendly poke. PMs were sent as followed; (this pm was longer than one line, posting it here) October rolls around and I hear nothing back. When your sent PMs are read by the recipent, they turn light green as they did in the screenshot, so I know she read them. I poke her on her DeviantArt Dash to check her pms to respond to me, of which messages she hides or has hidden since then. None of them were nasty posts, just enough information to warn others that I was not given the commission work she promised me and that she had yet to refund me. As I myself am someone who does commission work, I am thoroughly bonded and branded with the business etiquette of it. Every post that was hidden and wasn't responded to was as polite as they could be, asking for a refund and a response and nothing more. In November I send her an email asking for a refund and a small warning that I will leave negative feedback yet again if she doesn't respond to me; I will admit I did sound a bit brash when I threatened to expose her name and misconduct on journals of my websites, but for the life of me she would not respond to anything! She even CLOSES her DA account and apparently wipes off the face of the earth. Finally I say to myself, 'you know what? sixty bucks isn't worth the hassle, I'll forget about it'. ...That is until I found out she had made a new account completely, under the name of AutumnHoney. I know that that is her new account because my paypal statement shows this new name in my history. Loe and behold, same icon, same merchandise on the DA page, and the kicker is that they are taking commissions! I'm passed peeved at this point and do send a harsh PM at this point (not within reason) that states I will in fact post everything to my webpages and make an article on A_B if she does not refund me. Here is what follows; Her reply: My response: I am just... Beyond baffled. Where is said replies? None to my email, none to my DA PMs, I am just -floored- they even responded like that. I said I would not post of this ordeal anywhere until we are finally resolved but I am just blown away by everything that has gone on and this is too ridiculous to keep in the dark. I know I look really bad posting this anyways and using a threat like that. I will admit that I was in the wrong for lashing out myself, but I was beyond furious and will take any slack that comes from that... But was I really in the wrong anywhere? waiting to post weeks and months and years after asking where my refund/product is? This is just a concerned warning for anyone that wants to deal with this person in the future. I can't see how this is all a 'huge mistake' because I have no proof in my inboxes for the past 2 years that they have tried to contact me before this. I'll update on this case if it progresses any further. UPDATE 1: Artist has yet again chose to read my message and has failed to reply with 'proof' that they have actually responded or did work on this project. I'll give it a few more days. UPDATE 2: They have finally paid me back. They did not reply or say anything, I just had money in my inbox today. It makes me think their spat was entirely made up and they never did anything. Just glad it's over. UPDATE 3: I heard back from the artist today saying that they have sent me messages and what's been going on. I feel very bad about their unfortunate things in their life and if I were to have heard about them in messages, I would have been patient and left it alone. Unfortunately I honestly don't know if the messages were actually sent or not and am waiting for a response. If this was a big miss-hap, count the entire thing as 'Resolved' and do not discredit their business over this. I just don't understand how I could not get 'so many PMs' since I get dozens and dozens from other users just fine.
  3. Oct. 16th, 2011 at 7:30 PM thaily WHO: Luvythicus WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/luvythicus/ or http://luvythicus.deviantart.com/ WHAT: Art trade, 3 bags of plushies and fur fabric for 1 drawing. WHEN: May 29 2010 Summary: - I offer free stuff, but first come first serve, in order to prevent other people from snatching up 3 trash bags worth of plushies and fur fabric, he offers to trade me art to hold on to them until he can get someone to pick the items up. I agree. - He receives the items and expresses his happiness with them. - He acknowledges multiple times that he owes me work. - Of a certain quality. - Yet he forgets about me 3 times. - Inundates me with angst and lies, such as not having a working computer when uploading digital work or saying he's too busy when uploading gift art. - Lies, i.e. about being threatened to swindle money out of his viewers. - Currently claims he no longer has the items and says I will never get the art he owes me. Once upon a time, I was cleaning up and decided to give away of a pile of plushies and a few meters of fur fabric. The plushies and fur were really nice so I thought some local furries might enjoy them, so rather than give them to a local thrift store like I usually do, I put up a "free to a good home, first come first serve" post here. Enter Luvythicus. He said he knew someone locally who could pick up a large portion of the fur and the plushies the next day, but that didn't work out. Afraid someone else might come for the items before he/his friends could he said "I know you said no reserving, but..." and offered to trade artwork in exchange for me holding on to 13 plushies and several meters of fur fabric. He used this and this image as a sample to show the quality of work he would give me. I agreed and at this point it became a trade; the items for art. June 5 2010 he received the items and let me know how happy he was with them. June 7 2010 I give him the information he needs to draw his half of the trade. The link I sent him was this one, which is fairly clear reference I think. He complains about the complexity, but if you give her clothes you only have to do the stripes on her face, so. *shrug* September 7 2010 I remind him of our agreement. September 22 2010 he forgot who I am. After clarification I send him the reference link again and he says "Imma doodle her today fer sure x3" November 2010 I leave a shout on his FA page (no screenshot as it had since scrolled off) and again, he forgot who I am. November 26 2010 I remind him again, send reference link for third time. Eventually, on November 28 2010, I get a sketch. You might notice a discrepancy between the quality of that and the quality he promised. I hemmed and hawed, already pretty fed up with having to wait half a year for even a preliminary and being inundated with false promises and angst whenever I ask him about it. But I confront him and tell him this is not the quality of work we agreed on. Same day, he agrees and says he'll draw more. which is followed by another note in which he explains, apologizes and promise to "draw something proper". That's the last I heard from him for months. In the meantime he has and continues to take commissions, ask people for ideas to draw, does a lottery, draws gifts, does trades and offers free art and draws numerous pictures of his character doing the horizontal mambo with other people's characters. I understand people having a hard time, and I understand that paying customers come first. But in this case, I have no clue as to what the hold up is supposed to be. If anything I thought the fact he was uploading work would mean he'd definitely get around to mine, but either he has a 1.5 year backlog or he's taken commissions AND trades after mine and just skipped over the work he owes me. March 5 2011, I send him a link to the original LJ post as a reminder, he says I am not a priority and can't even draw for himself. But uploads gift art 10 days later. April 19 2011 rolls around and I'm fed up. I send him a a deadline, provide me with a preliminary within a month or return the items because I don't think he should get something for breaking his promise. Because he lives on the other side of the country and both he and I have spotty transport at best (depending mostly on public, which costs an arm and a leg), I asked (mutual!) friends more local to him and with transport, if they'd be willing to drop by and pick up the items, so it'd be easy for Luvy to bow out of the trade. He responds by saying he feels threatened and anyway his computer is broken so unless I can teach him to draw out of thin air.. He then makes an FA journal about the fact he's being threatened. Notice how, after a year of admitting he promised to make me art of a certain quality and that he was definitely going to get 'round to it, he goes to saying how he just offered a sketch out of the kindness of his heart. At least he's being honest when he says "I don't care if you feel cheated or anything". My response, also explaining that it wasn't a threat because well, it wasn't. I figured that if it was a misunderstanding, he'd delete or at least amend the post. However, in response to my statement that I was not threatening him, he says that the post is just a warning for anyone else who might suddenly demand art from him. So he knew he was not being threatened, but the post is still there, without even amending the information he knew to be false and he got at least 50 dollars out of lying to his viewers! The obvious falsehood of his post also casts a new light on this one: Silly customers. And makes me wonder how many more people he might owe work to. ? I tell him that, while he claims to only be able to use the internet via his phone and not draw digitally, he had uploaded digital work. I'm not angry, I just want what he promised me. May 8 2011 he's suddenly all cutesy and pleasant again, and asks for my real life address for a "surprise". I am suspicious, and ask him for a phone pic of the traditional media doodles. I remember seeing it, but didn't save it, it was the corner of a piece of paper with some doodles. He said there was a second sheet but the cat puked on it or something. By this time I was getting pretty exasperated with and tired of this person. Can you tell? ? Notice how he asks for the character's personal info AFTER I send him the link for the fourth time. Said link has a full bio, which is part of the reason I didn't respond. The other being that unlike him, I was busy-busy (end of the semester, commissions etc.) and didn't feel like telling him about my hobbies. The link I gave him 4 times had plenty of information he needed for some doodles. Needless to say I didn't hear from him after. Sent a note today, asking for an update, he complains he had to wait 5 months for information he already had and apparently couldn't do a single headshot since and he lost the sketches he already had. Despite the fact that I carefully stored my items and they were fine when I gave them to him, the fur was suddenly "riddled with bugs" and he threw it away; good time to mention he claimed the fur was for his then-girlfriend and he just never gave it to her, even though they were still together for at least a month after receiving the fur. He claims to have given the plushies to charity which I sincerely doubt. Considering his track record of lying to me, I heavily suspect he's just trying to brush me off and get me to leave him alone because he supposedly doesn't have the items anymore. And I'm confident that he will never, ever live up to his promise, leaving his post to be forever unresolved. I would definitely recommend people never give him anything again, money or otherwise. Sure he seems to do some commissions and trades, but why chance it?
  4. One day on October 3rd, 2018, the artist asked me if I was interested in getting art from him. He was offering a discount: $50 USD for two character line art, $15 less than what he usually charges for it. He supposedly wanted the money that night (which I think is a red flag all on it's own), and it was an artist whom I really liked. I decided to get a friend in on this and we decided to commission Synx. He then explained that he needed it for his medication which I could completely understand. We pay and wait for him to be ready before we sent our details. A week goes by and I ask for an update. He says that we are next and he will be able to make our commission in a few days. A few more days go by and they mention that they are delaying our commission a few days because they're making a big move. Like before, I let it go. Later in December, he tells us that he is now busy with work, also adding that our commission has "highest priority." More time goes by... until recently when in another Telegram group chat, I see art with his name on it. We were not the "highest priority." I ask Synx about it, and he now says he is ready to get started. I will admit, that I did not discuss with Synx what we wanted, but I was waiting for him to be ready. Full picture. Note the 2020 date on the top left. I let him know the details of what we wanted all that time ago and he says he will update us with a time. He keeps saying "I will try tomorrow" only to find out he hasn't. Recently, I have been bumping him to see if he has even started, only to find more excuses. He offers us more art in compensation for the lack of progress over the past year. Still nothing. As of Feb 2, 2020, I had subscribed to alerts to his Picarto which tells me when he streams on that platform. Hoping that it would be our commission, I log in and watch the stream only to find out that he isn't working on our stream. I ask if he has a timeline for our art, only to have him say "no exact date." Picture from the stream on Feb 2, 2020. I am extremely disappointed with this artist, and would advise not working with them. At the very minimum, don't give them your money until they are actually starting the art. I love their art, especially since they hit kinks that I love, but this experience was just horrid.
  5. Last night I got into contact Squeedge's partner, who has told me that Squeedge still intends to ship the pins at some point. They've also apparently issued at least one refund to someone, but for now I'm personally forgoing the refund and keeping up my offer to pay for shipping again if that would make it easier to get them out the door. The pins mean more to me than the money does (and a refund would cost them more than shipping, anyway, at that). They've told me they'll touch base with Squeedge in regards to this, figure out what's up, and keep me updated.
  6. (Deleted comment) tech_rex May. 31st, 2011 12:21 am (local) I checked through his gallery and my email account, sadly nothing. astralabortion May. 31st, 2011 12:52 am (local) Man, you are bloody lucky I checked LJ after stumbling home tonight. XD Here's the thing: I popped open FA after a near-three-month hiatus back on the 25th and poured through my notes, found yours - I do have your commission, inked, lying around here somewhere, but it's anyone's guess as to which pile of artwork it's in. I thought I'd have some spare time this weekend to sift around and find it, but that proved not to be the case. You've got a few options: 1). Give me a bit of time to sort through my paperwork and find the inked item; I'll scan it and pass it off to you to see if you feel it's worth me moving forward with completion. 2). I do recall this image not being something I was terribly happy with and had a much better idea a while after I first got to work on it. Another option is to give me a little while to whip out that other idea and go from there, though it seems we're well past the point of discussing revisions. 3). Take the full refund. Ball's in your court. I'll be cool with whatever you decide to do. ? fenrirs_child May. 31st, 2011 01:33 am (local) no offense, and i know this has nothing to do with me, but what's with the attitude? bloody lucky? it seems as if you're the one who's not been good with communication, so i think the hostility is far from warranted... astralabortion May. 31st, 2011 01:34 am (local) Would you like to commission me to draw you a custom infographic outlining how little I care about your opinion of my attitude? ? fenrirs_child May. 31st, 2011 01:40 am (local) no, but i'll enjoy the fact that your sarcasm and general abrasiveness will lose you many customers, as i'm sure i won't be the only one reading this here ;3 astralabortion May. 31st, 2011 01:46 am (local) ...you mean, I won't get to draw MORE contrived amalgams of some teenager's anguish over enduring a middle American suburbanite lifestyle? SAY IT AIN'T SO fenrirs_child May. 31st, 2011 01:50 am (local) hey man, your loss. you chose to take these commissions in the first place. if you didn't like the subject matter/commissioners/general audience of your work, perhaps you should have pursued a different hobby and source of income astralabortion May. 31st, 2011 01:56 am (local) Like what? Insider trading? ? fenrirs_child May. 31st, 2011 01:57 am (local) preferably something not customer service oriented. insider trading works fine for me ^^ astralabortion May. 31st, 2011 01:58 am (local) Then I'll see you at the height of the next investment banking scandal on CNN~ 8D oceandezignz May. 31st, 2011 02:07 am (local) I know you originally meant well, but please do not bite the bait next time. oceandezignz May. 31st, 2011 02:06 am (local) Be a little nicer while in this comm please. ducttapeninja May. 31st, 2011 05:47 am (local) Yeah, wow. At first glance of Astral's post I didn't see any attitude at all and thought that maybe Fenrir was overreacting. Then Astral kept replying... Thanks for posting this aware, Tech, and I really hope you get everything straightened out! sbneko May. 31st, 2011 11:23 am (local) Same here, I thought it was just a, how to explain, very buddy buddy way of talking rather then being rude, but then I saw the rest. conigliomannaro May. 31st, 2011 06:55 am (local) Funny, I didn't see any bad attitude in the first answer from the artist, and I briefly thought fenrirs_child was being too touchy, but the rest of the thread proved me wrong. If I was to say who took the bait, I'd say it wasn't the commissioner, but mostly the commissioner. By acting so rude he made clear his true colors. Good job in getting yourself a bad name, dude. Anyway, being things at this stage, I'd ask for a refund and be done with it. God knows I wouldn't want a picture from this person, not even for free. kadaria May. 31st, 2011 07:15 am (local) Checking the tags, it looks like nothing has changed about this artist be it the inability to deliver a product, communicate or type civilly. Notes and email should be enough to get someone's attention. Not hoping that they stumble upon an LJ post. ducttapeninja May. 31st, 2011 08:32 am (local) Yeah, that threw me off. The way Astral was like "Boy, you're lucky I logged onto my LJ and saw this! XD" it was like... What about emails and notes and stuff? You know, the stuff they really should be checking? Not exactly a brilliant idea to imply that the OP is "lucky" they logged onto LJ and saw the post, or they might have never tried to regain touch with them. ? (at least, that's how it came off to me, anyway) draken_art May. 31st, 2011 07:39 am (local) Hrmmn. See this is where knowing Exo personally comes in handy, as I read something entirely different in the text. Remember, what may /seem/ rude or not is how we read into it. Personally I thought that it was his normal sarcasm and wit coming through, and it can be can be sharp but humorous. Inside trader. HA! However, there is a time and place for such things, and often the internet is not one of them due to lack on context. *chuckles* *sighs* spdora May. 31st, 2011 07:44 am (local) Especially with a client, when money is involved, and professionalism is needed. That is certainly the place to drop the act. draken_art May. 31st, 2011 07:46 am (local) Agreed. Even when it is between friends, a little professionalism and tact can go a long way. likeshine May. 31st, 2011 10:09 am (local) i LOLed at the insider trading thing as well, actually nambroth May. 31st, 2011 05:09 pm (local) Yeah pretty much this comment is spot on. I know Exo to some extent and I read that as him being witty, but at the same time I recognize that society (agree or disagree, it is what it is) demands professionalism when dealing in business venues so, yes. There is a time and place. kairi_koitra May. 31st, 2011 08:58 am (local) Same I know exo personally. He isn't trying to come off as rude it's just his sarcastic way of doing things. Many times I think commissioners tend to neglect to look at artists journals and posts reading the normal way the communicate. Sometimes you'll often see commissioners complain about rude or nasty artists but yet at the same time this is how the artist has always been and acts. You can't fault a person for the way they normally are. He's like this with everyone this is exo being exo. He doesn't hide it nor does he try to sho it under the rug. While I can agree he took awhile to get back with the commissioner things happen. It's not an excuse nor does it mean I'm shaking his responcibility to do the work he was paid to do but artists are human to sometimes they forget things and sometimes life just gets in the way. Personally he owes me two works as well but i'm not sweating it he'll get to it when he gets to it. He's probably one of the most critical artists I know he critizies everything he does and redoes things twenty times and still isn't happy with it. But thats how he works he doesn't want to give a commissioner a steaming hot pile of penciled out *crap* but to give them something worth what they paid him to do. Which both he and the commissioner both will be happy. Thats the sign of a good artist and not just a wham bam thank ya mam artist. You get what you pay for. Yes this would entirely be better if he kept in contact more and he isn't even arguing that point but you guys are hanging him out to dry for an attitude that he's always had. That if the orignal commissioner would have read his journal posts or looked at his other ways of reacting to things should have been aware of as well. I'm not saying he's right in the way he act's Im saying he's acting in the way he always has. Tact and professionalism sometimes gets lost in a pile of paperwork. kadaria May. 31st, 2011 09:21 am (local) >Im saying he's acting in the way he always has< And it really hasn't done much for him in the past either if you check the tags where he uses the same attitude and even lies to a customer about a shipping date. Put aside for a moment that this artist is your friend and think about any other customer service job. -Do you think you would last in any of them if you were nasty and sarcastic to your customers? How would your manager respond when you were called on your bad attitude and you told her "That's just the person I am take it or leave it."? -What about if when customers paid you, instead of giving them what they bought you "forgot" about it and kept the money? Would they think you were a good, trustworthy person or a scammer? -How happy are customers when orders are lost, calls not returned or they feel "stiffed" from a deal? How does this look to other people who may be interested in commissioning you? If this keeps happening to him: >Tact and professionalism sometimes gets lost in a pile of paperwork< Then he really shouldn't be in any kind of customer service job, let alone art commissions which require discipline as well as good customer service to thrive. kairi_koitra May. 31st, 2011 09:43 am (local) Again your quoting the same thing he has other posts on here as well. did I in any way shape or form deny that he was wrong in his actions? No. I simply stated that its not only the artists responcibility to complete a piece of work it is also a responcibilty onto a commissioner to do research on an artist before giving them their hard earned money. A lot of commissioners would save themeselves a huge headache and ending up in this situation if they would research an artist before paying them. A friends word is great but using tools such as A_B is even better. Exo has more then one post on here about his habits and manners if people would take the time to read up before paying an artist to do a piece of work things like this wouldn't happen. They would know about his lack of emailing his bad attitude etc. Heck if they would have thumbbed through his journals etc on FA or LJ they would see he has an attitude problem. The point is that his bad attitude is everywhere all people have to do is do a bit of research and they can see it. If I'm going to go to a fancy resturant and spend hard earned money on a meal. I think I'm going to research where i'm going a bit to see if they live up to what i'm paying for. Everyone blames the artists for things but in the same light the commissioners should be held for lack of doing research as well. synatri May. 31st, 2011 09:52 am (local) ... What? So you're saying it's the commissioner's fault that they didn't realize that the artist is a douche before they commissioned him, so it's okay for him to be a douche? Really? hamburger May. 31st, 2011 09:57 am (local) No name-calling, please.
  7. So back in 2018 at FWA I commissioned Kenner for two badges, one for myself and the other for my SO. I was told that we could pick them up Monday before they left but unfortunately we had to leave Sunday night. I provided them with an address where they could send the badges once they were finished but we never received them. A year of waiting later I get back in contact with Kenner and ask for updates, I get told that they're being worked on or sent to me and nothing happens for months. I'm told I would receive scans, nothing. After those months of waiting I gave them an ultimatum, show me that something has been done or I'll be requesting a refund and sharing the chat logs that I've kept to as many places as possible. Doing that got me pictures of the badges actually finished, so now all they had to do was mail them to me and I provided my addresses where they could send me the badges (I moved so I made sure to give them the updated address). Now I'm about to move again, I gave them a day to have the badges to me by and told them again that if I didn't get the badges, I'd be sharing the evidence that I have of them not following through on their commission. Now that time has come and I am following through.
  8. still waiting for updates on my partial from august 2017. it is now october 2019. i’ve been in touch with the maker on and off for several months. earlier this year i asked for a refund if there was no progress on my suit. i was offered a partial refund + the partial suit that i had originally ordered, which could be done and delivered by and at anthrocon 2019. as i had no intention of going to anthrocon, i asked if it could be delivered to me at furrydelphia 2019 which is later than anthrocon, and if that could be done i wouldn’t necessarily want or need to refund. i was under the impression this could be done, and i actually met with the maker irl over the summer briefly, and was told i would have update pics later that night. i never received those update images. there was no ongoing communication about the suit, until it was nearing furrydelphia. i messaged asking whether he would be attending and was told no, he wouldn’t, due to medical issues. no further updates on the suit, no other offers. i have messaged again asking for updates. also, both furaffinity profiles have been restricted to registered users, which is new because i used to be able to access them without having to log in.

    Beware: Fytch

Fytch decided to reply to my note late last night, claiming she is paying back the first person first and then moving down the line. But then she also posted on her Facebook that she was paying for a fur-suit head for 6 weeks...... and has not paid any of us back so far.
  10. So, I asked for the care instructions and "how-to" put the suit on information (for my specific suit) from Lemonbrat 2 weeks ago, the email finally arrived last night. The care instructions seem pretty generic, maybe even copied and pasted from some website online I don't know, it says nothing specifically about short, minky fur. It's not really an issue. I've asked for the material colours and the source, I said for repair reasons, but... I may have had other ideas in mind like comissioning a new suit from someone else using the same colours. I felt if I told them that, they would not have told me. Anyway, the sent me what seems to me like a really confusing image of the colours. Now, I only remembering choosing two colours. Champaign and Tawny, possibly Minky Black for my details. Now I asked them to add information on which furs where used for which parts. There are 3 shades of black alone. (I originally thought two) In total there are 7 different colours of fur listed in there email. As this is my first fursuit, I'm not sure it is normal practice, but I thought it might be worth mentioning anyway. Either I am having a really hard time understanding basic information, or communication is an really big issue. I've been at my first convention and already the fur is starting to bald in places. This is not a good sign. The zipper is constantly jamming, even when you ensure to make sure the fur is not in the way when you zip up. They've put a plastic puller on a metal zip on both the head and the back. It seems like instead of seperating the fabric and the fur, they've simply turned the zip backwards somehow - it's really strange. The zipper and fabric seem to seperate on the inside, but not where it counts on the outside. I'll provide more pictures soon. They're is no possible way to put this suit on, or get out of it without help. If you really need to get out of suit quickly in a medical emergency, be prepared to get cut out of it if you don't have a handler because it can easily take an hour just to get in and out of suit. 30-40 minutes if you really try to hurry. (impossible if you are on your own) Again, not sure if this is normal, this is my first fullsuit, but I thought my experience might be worth mentioning. [Edit: Thought it might be worth mentioning that the Fursuit Team and Security at EuroFurence, were constantly saying things like "Oh, the zipper keeps jamming, this must be a Lemonbrat suit" Just thought that might be worth noting] Camaro.

  12. Jun. 16th, 2012 at 10:26 PM goth_panther WHO: TheUnborn WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/theunborn/ WHAT: I commissioned her for a NSFW sketch of my girlfriend's character with two of her male characters. Screencap of agreed upon commission and payment: http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/5460/commissionagreementandp.jpg WHEN: I commissioned her on February 2nd, 2012 and paid via Paypal Feb 6th. Over 4 months later a WIP has been shown, but the sketch is still not finished. PROOF: Payment: http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2864/paypalna.jpg Note conversation on FA: http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/1763/conversations.jpg EXPLAIN: I commissioned her on February 2nd, 2012 and paid via Paypal Feb 6th. Two weeks went by and I check to see how things were coming, she hadn't started on it yet but promises to start on it within the week. A full month goes by and I check in again on the 1st of April and she claims she couldn't work on it since she just got the internet back, but she'll be finishing it that week. Mid April she claims to have my commission done. Nothing. She then starts to say its her medication that she can't draw, along with artist block. At the end of April I finally get a WIP and it'll be done that night. After that she starts working on "other projects" including a comic and something to do with voice acting, so again, commissions are delayed. Almost the entire month of May goes by and not a word. The 20th rolls around and still "almost finished" and she's "working on it now" 4 days later and she "loses all her recent progress" because her program crashed and she didn't save. On the 8th of this month she says she's working on it again. Here we are week days later and she's been doing $1 stream sketches, working on animated icons and I'm still waiting. I'm a pretty patient guy, but over 4 months for a $15 dollar sketch? Yeah I'm getting pretty fed up. It sounds like its a case of taking too much on at once. If she didn't handle commissions like this I'd commission her more. RESOLVED!: I received both a refund and the art commissioned!
  13. Hi. This is a story of two buyers who didn't pay us for our work. A little explanation before I start: I work together with FyreDraygg. I take care of public relations and make some types of commission; he doesn't talk to our buyers, but is always informed by me about everything he has to know. This is stated on our Terms of Service, automatically accepted when someone decides to commission us. That being said, let's start. Terri contacted us on 6 December 2018 asking for a Night in The Woods graphic (a type of commission FyreDraygg does) featuring four characters. (If you're unfamiliar with the platform it's Plus Messenger. It's Telegram with a different interface) (I know the correct total was 26€ (6,5 x 4 = 26€) when I wrote 24€, , I made a mistake, but I let that slide even after I noticed.) Then they proceeded sending us the character references. I gave them an indicative date as, per policy, we can't ensure any completion date. I also explained them FyreDraygg will work on their piece (even if they should have known reading our ToS or, simply, my FurAffinity page). We chatted a little bit, nothing relevant for this. They contacted me on 12 December 2018, 2 January 2019, 28-29 January 2019 and 7 April 2019 asking about the WIP. As I told them before, I have a proper channel where I send any update on any commission I'm working on, to let people know what I'm working on, but I still accept people asking me privately. Finally, on 22 May 2019 I send them the final picture; I know, we took so long, but again we give no guarantees about completion dates and this is clearly stated in our ToS. Then, problems arose. Again, as per our policy: "A situation where we finish our job and the client delays payment due to not having the required funds available is not at all acceptable and lands said client directly in the blacklist, along with us reporting such incidents to all market platforms." ...but I tried to be understanding: we took a lot of time and I've decided to be more patient in turn. I was still annoyed because it was just about 6€ per person, not a really large amount, but I kept this for myself. I just wanted to be payed, nothing else, I didn't care about judging other people's finances. Then I contacted them on 27 May 2019, 10 June 2019 and lastly 21 June 2019. It was becoming a large problem because I had to file my tax declaration and I needed this payment to be done asap. I also explained this problem to them. Then, they forwarded a message from another person (a friend who was taking part to this commission), apologizing and promising we will receive payment very soon (I'm censoring personal emails & Paypal addresses). Then, suddenly they asked to change the price because "2 of the characters weren't used at all". We had been graceful enough to decline charging them extra delay fees when offered, the commission was already dirt-cheap discounted to begin with and while we took a long time to deliver, this gave them plenty of time to notice they weren't using a character and telling us about it. Furthermore, after receiving the WIP, they had yet another chance to ask for changes, which they didn't and now, when pressed for payment, they magically discover issues with the work. They also complained about us not sending them any WIPs, which we clearly provided as a release candidate due to the nature of the work. Thus, since work on 4 characters had already been done, that work would have to be paid. We couldn't send any invoice via Paypal any earlier because we didn't have any email to send it to; the buyer seemed extremely reluctant to provide any such information and had to be solicited multiple times before complying. The invoice expiration date was set for 15 days after issuing (my email is a public business email, I don't feel the need to censor it) and Maxx promised to pay after Friday (it was June 21, then payment should have been sent after June 28). As you can see from the screenshot I took today it's still "on hold", while the second one (from another person) is paid. Just a comparison if you're not familiar with Italian. The invoice will technically expire tomorrow, but since we are way past any set deadlines, we figured we weren't going to receive any payment and decided to cancel this order, ban these buyers from our service and initiatives and report them to the proper platforms as stated in our ToS. I perfectly understand things can be hard in life, we took a lot of time to complete this piece, but on the other hand if a person commissions some work from someone else, they should keep the proper funds available by setting money aside from the start, not pay at their leisure and blaming it on the worker for completing their work at an inconvenient time. I also offered them to pay after a WIP because I know it could took more time than expected. And again, we're talking about 6€ per person; I don't think someone who struggles to set aside the price of a 12-pack of Pepsi should preoccupy themselves with ordering art, but that's just my personal opinion. These users contacted me on Telegram and, apart from personal emails, I don't have any other contact. I give you name, nickname and id because it's all I have directly; after some sleuthing I found Terri on FurAffinity. Terri J. We settled for 10 bucks a piece, and she began to work them out. First one is the one I have as an avatar, came on 10/09; second one came on 10/26. The third one hasn't come yet but I'm pretty positive it'll go smoothly like the rest. If you check her dA you'll see she's in hiatus, but she has noted me that she's still working on my icon so it's all okay. kinas is very nice and great with communication. She keeps her commission progress list on a journal on dA and answers to notes within hours (probably she checks her notes daily or something like that); she's also very kind and generally pleasant to deal with and her pictures are really pretty. I am not sure if I can link to the two finished avatars of hers cause she hasn't posted them yet and I don't feel comfortable uploading her work on my Photob. without permission, however you can see her work here in the comment box and down my avatars' list here on lj. darmit Nov. 3rd, 2011 01:58 am (local) Re: Kinas/Kinasaur Seconding! The commissions I can talk about are crazy old, so we had to check our Paypal history: she has one payment from me on the 14th of July 2009,and has posted my first commission the twelve of that month and the second around the end of August. 4. Kyuume draws very expressive characters. Back when I commissioned her she was taking a batch of low detail cheaper commissions, plus it was over two years ago, so now both prices and style have changed and the ones I paid don't apply anymore; anyway, as you will see in the examples, she improved a lot in her art, and she's one of the very few people I would recommend for commissions (I think they're, like, 3 in total? I've had bad luck in my days). We're good friends, but from what I know she's pretty easy going even with strangers, does her job and does it well. Her basic price list now gives Head to waist, more detail, colour, shading, simple bg included: ONE CHAR: £19, TWO CHAR: £23 + £4 every extra char; Examples of her current work are here (can't see without an y!gal account) and here; the old commissions from 2 years ago are this one and this one. She has never drawn anthro but she's eager to learn, so she told me she's willing to give a discount for any anthro commission she gets, but she doesn't feel ready to draw anything 18+ themed yet. gingerligress Nov. 2nd, 2011 09:15 pm (local) Sepp 1. Only three days after I paid, I got this wonderful icon you see here. For the price, I was simply shocked at the quality. Just...I still can't stop staring at it. They've only recently been able to accept money through paypal, so now's your chance to get some awesome art for a great price. :D The only thing I would note is that they do confirm and keep up with things mostly through journals, but they noted me the final piece and replied to let me know that they received payment, so they don't seem adverse to communicating through notes. 17. Dec. 2nd, 2011 at 9:59 PM jackrow WHO: Rainhopper / Toast Rabbit WHERE: Rainhopper OR at Toastrabbit WHAT: Not willing to pay commission price he owe me. WHEN: Ordered at 2009 July 25. - Picture received at approximately 2010 August. Payment haven't arrived ever since from him. PROOF and STORY: There were a commissioner, called Rainhopper, also known as Toastrabbit in his actual name. He once commissioned me for a highly detailed artwork which would cost him 60 Euro, which is approximately equal to 80 USD. We discussed every single detail together to its finest. The communications are held upon Furaffinity's notes and GMail's e-mailing systems sometimes when we had doubts about things. Times have passed, and I have to admit I've got some complications with school and whatnot during the time and it kept for about almost a year which I felt myself ashamed, but once I've got some free time to finish what I was about to tell to be finished, I finally did what I promised and sent the original high resolution picture to him via e-mail in hope to get paid but only a somewhat short but still a modest thank you e-mail has been received and nothing more. The picture I did with such effort can be found here now here (since either him or the mods have removed it - EDIT: 2011.dec.04.) Though the description says that Jako did it, it was my former account and as the account journal says I moved to the newest location, just in case if someone is in doubt if it's about me or an other person, I just told it right here. However I uploaded it to my Furaffinity gallery, I've entitled it with a NOT PAID tag right infront of the title, to keep it in mind both for him and for artists if he's about to spot you as an other victim of theft. I have been waiting for months then I was out of patience, thus I asked him what's going on with the money? He said he is having complications with paypal nevertheless he's broke and 2 the rantgryphon holds him, which I accepted as "oh well, shit happens, let's just wait some more then..." I was hoping he was about to get that arranged ,but yet another several of those months have passed (almost A YEAR) and still nothing. Then I've asked him the same, but in a bit impatient motivationful voice via e-mail, and he replied the same. THIS is going on for ONE and a HALF YEAR by now, and I'm seriously out of patience, not to mention he dare to attend at MidFur as a Guest of Honor. How can people sleep at night like these? Till he don't pay me off, this thread will remain for letting you know who is about to comission you, and if I were you: DON'T ACCEPT ANY FURTHER COMISSIONS FROM HIM(Toastrabbit, Rainhopper) as long as I'm unpaid. Hereby I'm going to link evidences with commentary. The screenshot cuts have datestamps to proove my complainment. Evidence01 A whole copy of what he sent me in notes by promising this and that right after arranging the details which looked nice and fair so far. Evidence01 supplemental Not so relevant, but the e-mail where I've sent the sketch for further detail arrangement to check if everything is alright with it. Normally I keep doing things this checking way, to avoid complications in details, wether my customers like the way it looks or not. Evidence02 Months have passed and still nothing... Evidence03 Right after I uploaded the picture, all he did is just a thank you, not even mentioning he' still willing to pay me or something which OUGHT to be happen after this long delay if I were him. Evidence04 Evidence05 What? He can even AFFORD to make it to MidFur from the United States?... Okay, where is my diamond shotgun? Evidence06 Perhaps this is another excuse not paying me out...

I hope being a shameless tattle tale makes you feel better about yourself. Some timestamps are missing because these are bits and pieces of others' chatlogs. 10:18 PM: Earwig: haha what the fuck tacky shit am I hearing 10:18 PM: Grafsburg: Shameless? 10:18 PM: westfalen: what the, holy shit. ANOTHER GREY WOLF WITH BLACK HAIR 10:18 PM: westfalen: I'M GOING TO FUCKING VOMIT, SRSLY 10:19 PM: Defenbaugh: -pats West- ? 10:19 PM: Defenbaugh: With a gotee 10:19 PM: westfalen: who the fuck do I have to stab to make the hurting stop Earwig: Cil try to have some tact, it's not charming. Some people have doofy characters but you're going to hurt your reputation by being snotty/insulting westfalen: whoa, Sare! where'd you come from? Earwig: Internet westfalen: arite. So, whaddya want me to do, Sare? 10:19 PM: Earwig: S'fine to bitch but keeping it in IM etc is best. 10:20 PM: westfalen: s'what I'm doing 10:20 PM: Earwig: Ranting is something we all gotta do, but this is in a public stream where your customers/fans see it 10:21 PM: westfalen: oh right, difference between public stream and IM, gotcha 10:21 PM: Earwig: They're giving you money so returning a level of respect back to them is the right thing to do 10:21 PM: westfalen: fine, fine. I'll return his five dollars. 10:21 PM: Earwig: Sometimes it's hard as hell, but on something like a basic aesthetic choice it's crappy 10:21 PM: Earwig: I'd ask him first, since I'm not the customer 10:21 PM: Earwig: It's just personal opinion 10:22 PM: westfalen: I hope one day I meet this guy in person 10:22 PM: Earwig: Who? 10:22 PM: westfalen: so I can tell him personally how I feel 10:22 PM: westfalen: EXACTLY 10:22 PM: Earwig: Are you talking about the customer you're working for? 10:22 PM: Defenbaugh: I think West is givign them the money back. 10:22 PM: Earwig: But who is she giving money back to? Because the customer's not complaining so far as I know, so he doesn't want a refund I'd assume 10:23 PM: westfalen: so wait, what 10:23 PM: Earwig: I'm just giving my 2 cents re: business tact 10:23 PM: westfalen: are you friggin serious 10:23 PM: westfalen: you come in here just to lecture me? 10:23 PM: Defenbaugh: -whistles and wanders that a way- Its uncomfortable i here. 10:23 PM: Earwig: I sure did 10:23 PM: westfalen: I'll tolerate lecturing from my manager because I pay her, but srsly Sare, aren't you being hella presumptuous? 10:24 PM: westfalen: jesus! After I did you goddamn favour! 10:24 PM: Earwig: What favour? 10:24 PM: Earwig: The donation for the kitten? 10:24 PM: Earwig: That was amazingly kind of you 10:24 PM: westfalen: you'll stick up from stranger mcstrangeface and not for me? 10:24 PM: Kardi: Then here, have my lecture here in channel. ? You need to put it down tonight. 10:24 PM: Earwig: This is a different situation 10:24 PM: Kardi: I never EVER lecture you in public.. EVER. 10:24 PM: westfalen: christ in a hammock! 10:24 PM: Kardi: Sigh... 10:25 PM: Earwig: presumption is when I don't know information and I just assume shit, which yeah I never do. But I saw how you're acting and it's definitely not presumptuous to say you're being rude and tactless. 10:25 PM: Earwig: And like I said I totally understand the ranting thing, I do it too 10:25 PM: Earwig: But I do it in private and I try to be fair 10:25 PM: Earwig: If these people were being shitheads to you I could understand it but it's not their fault they have similar designs back to back 10:25 PM: Kardi: You are so hopped up on cold meds you're snarly and grumpy and just in a mood and a quarter. ? 10:26 PM: westfalen: actually no, I'm not on cold meds right now 10:26 PM: westfalen: clear as a goddamn bell 10:26 PM: Earwig: Insulting them because of a very simple aesthetic choice in a place they can see it is just really... I dunno. I'm honestly surprised 10:26 PM: Kardi: ... well, then, you're in a mood and quarter. And also, I hope the kitten's doing okay. ? 10:26 PM: westfalen: hahaha oh my god I can't believe I'm hearing this 10:26 PM: Earwig: Yep, kitten is in a really nice place now and taken care of well 10:26 PM: Kardi: Cool. ❤️ That makes me happy. ? 10:27 PM: Earwig: I dunno why you're talking like this in a public place. It's your own noose you're tying, that's fine. I can't tell you how to run your business or how to portray yourself online 10:27 PM: westfalen: look, you two girls have fun talking kittens, ok, I'm sure you both have great cat stories to exchange 10:27 PM: Earwig: Are you drunk? 10:27 PM: Earwig: Like is this how you normally act? I'm just trying to be chill and explain what the hell you sound like 10:27 PM: westfalen: I apologize for all present for having to put up with this bullshit, I'm outtski, kids. Peace on earth. So basically: West is tired of getting nothing but grey foxes with black hair to do icons of, and expresses this by making personal attacks against me and throwing personal insults at me as a person over a simple character design, in a public chat where absolutely anyone could see it. He even goes so far as to copy and paste another commissioner's icon to make minor edits to for mine with the intention of passing it off as fully-custom work like all of his other icons and just getting my character out of the way. My icon, next to the icon West copied from: http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/4103/reklawiconprooficons.jpg He took the icon he made for Escafanatic421, copied and pasted it, and made really minor edits to the character: Eyebrows, muzzle marking, and the clothing's removed. He also moved "my" character further out of the frame to try to make it either less obvious, or so he could do less work on it, or both. I'm not impressed. When he gets called out for doing it so publicly, he proceeds to throw a fit and then leaves the channel. To be fair, I did receive the full refund as shown in the receipt I linked- The message that came with it was a simple "I don't think I can do your character right now, sorry!" I haven't received any sort of apology from West for his behavior, but I think it's because he thinks I don't know what was said about me in the livestream. While the personal attacks and this sort of behavior don't bother me too much, I'm posting this for anybody who may be considering commissioning West to beware of personal attacks and less than professional behavior if your characters happen to go against their idea of 'imaginative' character design. --Edited the post to fix spacing, it was showing up as a weird block of text for me. Hopefully that's better! Update: 11/28/2011 After just happening to run into West on livestream, I have severe doubts that this will ever be resolved. No copy-pasting to be had. I recorded every snide remark with Fraps. http://youtu.be/SVtAx9Hdz2w And Kathy had no idea this was going on, so leave her alone. Please.
  19. Nov. 12th, 2011 at 3:10 AM mosasakkine *Edited some wording as per mod request, and a couple more screenshots* Who: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/bunnynyn/ ; https://inkbunny.net/kibafuryo What: My version of the image in question is still on my page, and still contains all the drama he brought in, if you're so inclined to read through it. I just thought I'd give everyone a heads up about this guy. He won a pinup auction from me on November 9th, which was to be finished that same night. He first insists that we discuss the commission via messenger, which is against my policy for personal reasons. He claimed he wanted to be sure we were on the same page and that I got it perfect. I let him know that I've never had trouble following instructions through email, and his request was so simple (going so far as to send me a pose reference he wanted me to basically copy) there was no possible way for me to screw it up. I told him that if he really wanted, I could stream it for him. Which I did, and finished the piece in under three hours. He was pleased with it, so I then posted it to FA. My TOS states that by commissioning me, the commissioner is giving me the right to post the image where I like, and that they in turn have my permission to post the work on their own page, as long as they give me credit and post a link to my page. At around 7am EST on Nov 11, my significant other noticed on the front page of FA, that he had uploaded the piece. Only he had added huge black text with his "copyright" info, and a giant SAMPLE across the character. I was kind of annoyed about that, but since this was the first time I've ever had to deal with anybody altering a work I've done for them, I had not covered that situation in my TOS. But he also hadn't credited me in the description. So I made a polite comment requesting that he credit me and upload the unaltered image instead. He hid my comment. So I made another, telling him not to ignore me, and to please respect my wishes or remove the image from his page. I made a journal to state my displeasure, not once calling him by name. You can see that journal here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2899677/ He removed the image from his page. Then he posted a journal about how nobody was allowed to post any artwork of his "copyrighted" character anymore, or he'd sue them, then posted the link to that journal on the submission in my gallery. Hilarity ensued. My submission (WARNING NSFW due to penor): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6828416 What he did to it: http://rainbow-mouse.net/misc/bunnynyn/bunnynyn_kibafuryo.jpg His journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2900787/ He posted a ton of "threatening legal action" posts, even going so far as to copy/pasta some legal gibberish from a law site, as though he'd actually contacted a lawyer, and posted it both as a comment and as a private note. Our conversation went as follows: http://rainbow-mouse.net/misc/bunnynyn/bunnynyn1.jpg http://rainbow-mouse.net/misc/bunnynyn/bunnynyn2.jpg http://rainbow-mouse.net/misc/bunnynyn/bunnynyn3.jpg http://rainbow-mouse.net/misc/bunnynyn/bunnynyn4.jpg He chose not to reply to that last note from me. Instead, he went and edited his profile to say "DUE TO RECENT EVENTS WITH A FEW RETARDS ON HERE I HAVE MOVED TO ANOTHER SITE IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS ASK THEN BUT NO LONGER GOING TO DEAL WITH THE DRAMA FEST THAT IS "FA"" I guessed Inkbunny, and wouldn't you know, it wasn't hard to find. He had again uploaded that same altered version, AGAIN without giving me credit. This time he had in the description about how he had to remove it from FA because I had a fit about him uploading it (without mentioning my name). I contacted IB support and had the image removed with no fuss. Seen here:http://rainbow-mouse.net/misc/bunnynyn/bunnynyn5.jpg I posted another journal here, still not naming names http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2901363/ Please also be aware that I did not send anybody after them or encourage them to flame him, reply to his comments, or post on his journal. I avoided posting on his journal myself because I was not trying to incite anything. Again, the situation seems to be resolved for now, until he decides to post the image again, which I have revoked all rights to him being allowed to post anywhere due to his douchebaggery. If you happen to see the image in question uploaded anywhere with his copyright on it, please let me know, and report it if you can. I'm posting it here on A_B because some people have suggested I do so. I would suggest not taking work from this guy unless you like dealing with a childish whiner who will disrespect your art and then threaten you with legal action. Why: Not a clue! Added at Nov 12, 14:00 EST: This has now escalated to the point where he has posted a threatening shout on my FA page (which I have left there to make a point), and trying to reverse the charges on Paypal, which I hope to god they don't take his side, or I'll be on the phone with them. Commissions are my sole income. I don't screw around with this. He has also since nuked his FA account and all the comments he made on my submission, so you're really only seeing half the conversations now. I hope my notes screenshots suffice. Added on Nov 14, 14:14 EST: Some people have started accusing me of acting childish and immature in dealing with this, and that because of that, they think I will lose respect, watchers, and commissions. You are all entitled to your opinions of course, but please realize that in actuality, I have had many people come to me in comment and note and tell me that because of how I handled the situation, they WOULD commission me, so I am seeing the opposite results. I'm sorry if it looks like I have an attitude, but I can assure you that unless you plan to act as this commissioner did, you'd have very little, if any trouble commissioning me. I am very easygoing and friendly, and this is a very extreme case. Ask anybody else who has ever gotten work from me. And so I do not have to keep responding to the six hour thing (the wait between my comment on his submission and my first journal about respect): "Six hours after posting a comment on their page, may or may not have been enough time. My concept of time is skewed, given that my "days" don't end (I'm polyphasic), so what feels like days to me might actually only be six or seven hours because I've already "slept" two or three times. I concede that that I could have waited a little longer, but I honestly doubt it would have made any difference, as I'm pretty sure he hadn't read the journal before hiding the comment. I have no proof, but I gathered as much from the way he responded to me." But in the end, if you still don't like my attitude for whatever reason, enough that you think I warrant a beware of my own, by all means post a topic about me instead of shifting the blame around in this one, which is a totally warranted beware against the commissioner, and my reason for posting here. I can assure you that had not posted here, and if any of you who claim now that my attitude has put you off from commissioning me had been watching me prior to this but was somehow unaware of this situation, you either would have a) not commissioned me based on my general personality anyway b) commissioned me and had a fine experience, because I treat my commissioners with the respect they give me, and I am fairly certain you are all respectable to artists when buying artwork. So please. I absolutely get the picture that I come off as immature to some of you. That horse has been beaten, and unless my personal watchers/commissioners express displeasure with the way I conduct myself, then I will continue to conduct myself as I have been for the last decade of doing commissions, as it has not been hurting me.
  20. October 25 2018, 17:48 Artist Beware: Baasil I shall begin this with a little warning. I was uninformed about the actual stipulations of Paypal; I have always thought it was only 60 days, and not 120 days for buyer protection. With that said I was a bit assertive to this commissioned person. I thought my time was running out and dry, but this could have easily been resolved with some reassurance by this commissioned person. WHO: Baasil [http://www.furaffinity.net/user/baasil/] SpicyBaasil [https://picarto.tv/SpicyBaasil] WHERE: Stream: SpicyBaasil [https://picarto.tv/SpicyBaasil] WHAT: This was meant to be a quick icon and a full color commission that stretched at most a 2 or 3 week period as stated by the artist. WHEN: August 31, 2018 - October 21, 2018 EXPLAIN: The situation all started on August 31st 2018… I commissioned this artist in the early hours of 6am, but their stream ran short and they had been up all night for that day. They said they would complete my commission the following day. I am always forgiving and being an artist myself was totally fine with waiting until tomorrow. Tomorrow came, and nothing had been done. I did not expect the requested art of a full color commission the following day, but I did expect some progress on this icon we had discussed in stream before. Shortly after there was a Hurricane that struck their area, no damage other than power outages on Sept 9th … I went along with what they said to me in that journal, that they will be working offline for their owed art due to those who had worked with them prior to the storm. Being patient I waited until days passed. Sept 24th came I asked for n update since their queue listing isn’t quite listed anywhere I can find. My sketch was promised the week of Sept 24th September 24th was a Monday and the 29th would be the end of this week After these following messages my patience became stale and I had to be a bit more blunt as I have seen little to no action by this artist to do their duties. I was giving the benefit of the doubt to them and letting them tackle on a new icon since it’s been rough times. Again another false promise “tomorrow” my patience is already running thin by now. As I do not want this artist do to any more work than is required I wanted to make it clear that this is replacing what we had previously discussed. Now comes the true fallout and where I feel insulted by this artist. [for some reason it has “RE” even tho this is initial messages] This is the point where I thought I am running out of buyers protection and being a bit more blunt with this artist. Tomorrow promises yet again still being forgiving to this artist as I know how times can be tough. Confirming and thanking on the new family member, at this point it has been a total of 46 days from initial commissioning. The icon was meant to be done the DAY after I commissioned them, and the art was to be done in 14/21 days from commission date. Things turn sour~ It was at this point that I thought my buyers protection was running out and thought 60 days was the final cut off for my protection. This could have been so easily retorted by the artist letting me know I had 180 days but they decided to go a different route. Their claim is that they have had my work done, but I do not believe them. I have no means of guaranteeing or not that they had my work done. I also felt sympathy for them because I do commission work too but of a different kind. This was the most insulting thing of our interaction. As a client it is not my duty to keep notes on what you as a professional artist are owing me. This is a blurry pic just where we had a verbal agreement of work we had done. It’s the best I could do I am sorry. Their vod was low resolution. They got the idea of me being under the YCH through my personal Furaffinity Page. As I thought my time was running out I had to pressure them. Things got hostile. They got really mad at me, granted I was being very direct and blunt. I was just tired of hearing the three or four confirmations of getting my art done “this week” // “tomorrow” that I was basically done with this whole situation and wanted my money back. This is where things turned sour and I lost trust in this person. The fact that they are threatening defaming my name even tho my only fault was being assertive made me wary of their intentions. “Rest of refund, you’re even making money on it because I can’t be bothered to figure out fees. If you still action, I will be pursuing theft by deception charges and reporting to FA. :D” After issuing a 30 USD charge when I specifically told them the amount. After this moment I just refunded both their initial 10 usd and their 30 dollars sent. The saga ends there. This was the worst interaction I’ve ever had with an artist in my time on Furafinity. Could have simply been reassured by some condolences to me. Letting me know I had extra time vs when i assert myself threatening defamation. I am not sure what circles they run with, but hopefully I am blocked by anyone who sides with their antics. PROOF: Inline linking as conversation goes on, but will include all here in order of all my messages on FA. https://i.imgur.com/B3xOVqw.jpg
  21. May. 26th, 2011 at 10:53 AM shaneharper WHO: This post is about Dust-Bite on DeviantART. WHERE:http://dust-bite.deviantart.com/ WHAT: It was a $16 digital commission picture. WHEN: I first asked for a commission on December 13th. She agreed and I sent the payment over that day. Since then, I'd sent maybe two more messages, one in January and one in March asking about progress and if a refund was needed. I also sent updated reference sheets incase she hadn't started work yet. The last time I contacted her was April 20th. She hasn't responded past the first day when she accepted my c PROOF: Here is a screen cap from the first time we spoke about the commission. She agreed and I sent the money over. I don't have a paypal screen cap cause I didn't know I would need one and Paypal only keeps information for 3 months. This is a screen cap of the last time I messaged her, which was in April. I don't have the other two messages, but she hadn't responded to me in any message since the beginning. Not even about refunding. I've been REALLY patient, but I went to check out her commission "list" and I'm not even on it. **EDIT** I downloaded my paypal history (something I hadn't tried before) and found the payment and ID number. EXPLAIN: In the beginning, December, I had asked her for some digital art that priced up to $16. Neither of us considered it too challenging since it was one of her lesser commissions offered. She was quick to get back to me, and we agreed on the price and I sent the money over that night. I was super excited to have commissioned Dust-Bite because I'd always liked her art! I don't think she's a bad person but it's not acceptable to leave someone who has paid you, hanging. She hasn't been absent from DeviantArt either, because she's been posting a lot of art since December. And on DeviantArt, as some of you may know, you can see if another artist has read a note you sent them. She read my previous notes, but has yet to read the one I sent in April. I don't know if she's having money problems and can't afford a refund, but she can definitely finish my commissions since they weren't challenging and she's been more than able to post loads of art. **UPDATE** on June 8th, I was contacted and given my commission. I'm marking this down as lack of communication on my part versus a busy deviant.
  22. May. 23rd, 2011 at 4:22 PM jakejynx It's ridiculous that I have to make this post over something so simple, but this person has stopped responding to my emails, and has ignored the Paypal claim that I filed. On May 5, I posted a journal asking if anyone had some sparkle furs on hand that they would be willing to sell. Evilalcarne responded saying she could sell me some lime green fur. I paid $10 for the half yard of fur and $10 for shipping on May 7. She responded the same day, saying the fur would be shipped out on Monday. On Tuesday, May 10, I sent an email asking for the tracking number. She told me that she had stopped by the post office that day, but that her mother had the tracking number, since she was the one who went to the post office. On May 13, I sent an email asking for the tracking number again so that I could be home to receive the package. I received no response. On Monday, May 16, I sent another email telling her I was getting worried. Shipping from FL to GA takes two days at most. Even parcel post is a quick ship. I once again asked for the tracking number. She responded with "it's around here somewhere." And that was the last message I received from her. I sent a final stern email on Friday, May 20 telling her that I expected either the tracking number or a refund by the end of the day on Saturday, or I would be filing a Paypal claim. I received no response. A Paypal claim was filed late Saturday night, and it was not responded to. Today I escalated it to a claim, and I'm fairly confident that I will receive a refund, given that she is apparently unable to show proof that the fur was shipped. Please avoid transactions with this person. Communication is spotty, and she apparently can't be bothered to give you the tracking code on packages. Update: The fur actually arrived today via UPS. However, according to the tracking number on the package, it wasn't mailed off until May 20. That's 10 days after she claimed it had been mailed. Though I sincerely doubt it was $10 to ship, considering it weighs only 11 ounces, the UPS shipping calculator is apparently down right now, so I'm unable to get a price estimate. As if that weren't bad enough, when I opened the box, I quickly realized that it was not the half yard that I had bought. She sent me an 18x18 piece of fur (a half yard would have been an 18x65" piece). That's something like 1/8 of a yard, not 1/2. I know it was not a misunderstanding, since she included a note in the box saying "here is the 1/2 yard of fur." I can't help but think that she purposely sent me ~1/8 yard, and just assumed I wouldn't know what 1/2 a yard looks like. ? Fur 1 Fur 2 And this may be nitpicky, but on her site she has a picture posted of her dog lying in the exact same fur that she sent to me. Though I'm not allergic to dogs, the fur was going to be used on tails that could be sold to people who are allergic. I don't use furs that have been used as animal beds. 23. ORIGINAL POSTING DATE: March 7th, 2011 WHAT: Two digital icons. $3 a piece. The artist was doing a one-night special that got quite a few hits; it wound up taking longer because of this. Fair enough! WHEN: I commissioned them November 17, 2010, for two icons. They had a list of people in their journal, but worked out of order, which is understandable. Inspiration doesn't always work in order! I replied to the journal again December 7, 2010 inquiring about the icons, and was told they had a sketch done for one, and that the second would hopefully be sketched that evening. Caps below the cut will show our interactions. Here's the initial commission journal. Below is the commission agreement, along with my confirming I'd sent payment, and my first 'hey, what's up with these?' comment. You can see the journal (screencap) in its entirety here. Time went by, and I got this PM in response to the comment I'd left on the journal. My reply: About another week or so went by, and I checked in again with a shout, since they'd uploaded quite a few more commissions (all from Furcadia if I'm not mistaken), and I was puzzled since I'd supposedly been pushed to the head of the queue. And then my last shout, left on Feb. 28th. I didn't get any reply, and still haven't. However, I also know they haven't been on FA much, because their last upload was January 23th; their last journal was January 25th, and their last favorite was January 26th. EXPLAIN: Well, the screencaps pretty much explain everything. I noticed their Tumblr account has been kept fairly updated, mostly with personal stuff, so I shot them an Ask there as to the status of my icons. I don't want a refund, but if I don't get a reply in the next week I'll probably try to contact them again asking for one. =C I'm just pretty let down, overall. Edit: They replied on Tumblr! "7th March 2011-Question teahound asked: Hey, this is Teahound from FA. I'm sorry to bother you here; I just noticed your FA wasn't updated and this was. xD I was just checking on my icons! :3 I finished one a bit ago, and the second will be finished next, sorry for the delay ? here’s a link to the finished one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5126573/" Apparently they posted one of the icons; I didn't see it because I'd wanted the character looking seductive and they drew her reading... They say what's sexier than 'The Life of Pi' which is the book she's reading there, I'm just sort of let down in that regard because it's not what I requested. At this point I just told them I really liked it and was looking forward to the second one. The character depicted does enjoy reading, so it's not a total loss. :T (For clarification - I do like the icon I got, quite a lot! However it's not what I wanted. I'm not attempting to sound mean or anything by not mentioning that it's not what I wanted to them. They mentioned me asking for a seductive icon in the description, so they were aware of what I wanted all along. I don't want to pursue that anymore, and am waiting on the second icon.)
