About Me

  1. Camy, I personally agree. It's been a long time coming. The fact that a lot of people are beyond upset should've been the first red flag that people will speak out. Honestly...I'm personally surprised that no other Beware was made public about her until now (a few others were floating around, but weren't really "official")
  2. In February of 2018 I posted a tweet asking if any artists were open for commissions. I was contacted via DM by Shroomyeen (who sent me their prices). After looking at their art I agreed to purchase a $15 flat colour commission: Proof of payment: (The commission itself was $15, but I tipped $10 plus extra to cover Paypal fees - this is why the amount sent is $26.06) I began noticing some red flags not long after sending payment. Shroomyeen would constantly take on new work without finishing owed commissions first. This made me uncomfortable, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as they seemed to be going through a tough time financially. In September of 2018, I finally asked for an update. Shroomyeen told me they'd simply forgotten to share the WIP sketch and would send it when they "got home": That was the last time I heard from them. I've sent a few more DMs since then and have even resorted to publicly tagging them once or twice with no luck. Despite being very active on Twitter, I've yet to receive a response from them. They appear to be ignoring me. Please note that I mistakenly asked for A $20 refund in the second DM. The commission was only $15, I tipped $10. I don't mind letting them keep that money since it was my decision to tip, but I'd like to get my $15 back. Around this time, Shroomyeen switched Twitter accounts (@Lildogmeat). I wouldn't have even realised if one of our mutual followers hadn't retweeted something from their alt. I sent them a message on January 17th giving them one final chance to provide either proof that they're working on my commission or a refund, or I'd be contacting Paypal to get a refund. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of Paypal's 180-day window for filing disputes, so I'm no longer eligible for a refund. By writing this beware, I'm hoping to save others from making the same mistakes as me! Please be wary if you decide to commission Shroomyeen/Lildogmeat. They seem to have a history of doing this to their customers which is a shame as they're a very talented artist. If they refund my money or complete the artwork, I'll consider this resolved, but I don't think they intend to do either.
  3. Oh so now she is getting mad at YOU for something SHE did? The audacity to even dare get in a huff for her poor lack of proper business management being made publuc is HIGHLY unprofessional. If she did what she was supposed to do, she wouldn't be having peoole call her out on it ajd make public bewares not to commission her unless they want to be scammed. Plus this isnt her only beware about her. I've seen at least 2 others. Can you provide a copy of her message for us in the beware as well please??
  4. I've been following Chesta for a while, and while it's sad to see her here, I can't say I'm surprised. Over the years I've noticed that she has a habit of taking on more work and building on to her queue without finishing work at the same rate, and it's always made me wary of ordering something. I hope you get a resolution to this, a year for art really is too long.
  5. I decided to write this review of my experience with Furfancy costumes, after my paypal case has finally closed. I feel it's important to share my experience so other people might not end up in my situation, and I hope that Furfancy will learn from their mistakes and improve on their customer service and communication skills in the future. A little background information that goes before the situation that in the end led to a Paypal chargeback of 373$. I have previously commissioned Furfancy for 2 of her big cat expanding foam bases. These two bases were commissioned 10/10 2017 and 14/1 2018. Both bases were in perfect condition upon arrival and I was very happy with the quality and looks of these bases. However, I did have some communication issues with Furfancy during this time (lack of updates, slow to no responses) and it took about 1 month before the bases were shipped out. I have described this more in detail in the overview timeline I’m posting after this section. At the time I didn’t think too much about it but it did worry me a bit, but since I in the end did get my product and I was happy about it I wanted to commission them again when they offered more bases for sale through Twitter summer 2018, and this is where things went terribly wrong. Furfancy foam base issue timeline 10/10 2017 - Ordering 1 foam base 23/10 2017 - Asking for updates (no response) 2/11 2017 - Asking for updates (no response) 3/11 2017 - Gets answer from Furfancy 10/11 2017 - Contacts to confirm shipping 11/11 2017 - Shipping confirmed 23/11 2017 - Base arrives 14/1 2018 - Ordering second foam base 1/2 2018 - Asking if the base has been shipped 3/2 2018 - Get a picture of the base in a box 5/2 2018 - Base gets shipped 13/2 2018 - Base arrives 19/7 2018 - Ordering 2 foam bases 31/7 2018 - Contacting to ask if they have received payment. It gets confirmed its recieved. 6/9 2018 - Asking for update and ordering an extra additional base. Also pay more shipping for all 3 bases to be shipped together 19/11 2019 - Asking for update (no response) 20/11 2018 - Asking for update again (no response) 29/11 2018 - Asking for refund (no response) 3/12 2018 - Asking for refund again. Tries to work out a private payment plan with first payment in January. 5/1 2019 - Contact seller asking for status of refund (no response) 6/1 2019 - Contacting again because no response (still no response) 8/1 2019 - Doing a PayPal dispute and first here do I get an reaction 11/1 2019 - Pushes for a PayPal claim due to no response on the dispute 21/1 2019 - Paypal closes the case, ruling in my favour due to Furancy failing to respond or provide additional proof regarding the transaction. Now, I am terrible sorry this had to go this way, but I am very unhappy with how this business transaction has been treated. I have attached the entire conversation which took place on Telegram as proof of my statements. Sadly I have friends who had similar experience as me, although they either didn't get their items all together or they arrived damaged. While it's not my place to speak their case, their experiences combined and my own I felt I had to speak up about this issue. The only reason I pushed the Paypal case was because my 180 days buyer protection was running out. It was around 170 days past when I made the dispute and with failing communication or any sign of a refund I decided to go through with it while I still had a chance to get my money back. Furfancy has a super adorable style, I love their suits and I admire the craftsmanship. But as a professional I had expected more and better communication and customer service. I felt I was often left in the dark and felt forced to ask for any updates (both product wise and shipping wise) and that should be communicated better from Furfancy. This is not an attack on their person (I don’t know them) but it's a critique of their lacking professionalism as a business. Pictures of the conversation below. Please note the dates.
  6. Ahh, the old 'I'm a victim and here's my 10,000 excuses' trick. Not to mention it's extremely unprofessional to bring in personal reasons 'Oh my son's 1st birthday! I have etsy orders to ship today so now you've made it hard wahh'. Very unprofessional attitude and I'm glad you got it resolved on your end.
  7. Thanks for replying, Smu. I also wanted to clarify a few things; Yes, I did receive my corrected art piece today shortly after I was messaged regarding my Beware post itself via FurAffinity. The issue here for me as a customer was not that you forgot to correct it, it was how I was treated to begin with. Regardless of the technical error, I felt that the blame for the mistakes were on me for my "poor quality" reference when all could have been avoided if you had asked me for another file or image since that one wasn't easy to use. The response I was given was very harsh and made me want to avoid further communication. I was not given a time frame for the correction and I was honestly nervous to bother you again. I cut my losses and moved on. I also wanted to state that I did reply to you and I was the one to reach out about the mistakes. The last reply I had received from you is above about how you'd fix the image when you could get to it. I responded and thanked you, stated I've never had that issue before, and left it open to discussion, but you never continued. That said, I understand life gets in the way; I do appreciate you contacting me, apologizing, and fixing my art piece.
  8. Mar. 6th, 2012 at 2:51 PM sintocat WHO: ZiggyHusky WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ziggyhusky/ WHAT: Refuse to pay full or sketched amount. WHEN: First started around February 6th-7th. If anyone happens to see him post it please let me know. http://i.imgur.com/RCiI4.png (EDIT 3/11/2012) - I sent an FA admin a note about my situation - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Skiefire, I was hoping you could help/advise me about my current problem on FA I'm not exactly sure what the admins can do about this if anything at all, but I just wanted to bring it to your attention that this individual (http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ziggyhusky/) had entered into an agreement with me for a commission and once he received a sketch, decided to bail out on paying me. I asked him that if he couldn't pay for the full commission of $55 that he send me $10 for the sketch I had made for him. He told me he couldn't because of bills - yet pays someone $40 that week. (when he had owed me weeks before.) Below I have all the notes and shouts that go back and forth. If you find the time I would greatly appreciate you taking a look. If nothing can be done about it I understand, but it thought it better to at least let you guys know about him if any future incidents come up. Our notes where he agrees to the commission and asks for minor changes. - http://i.imgur.com/ZuHuV.png Feb 25th - http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj154/Fandkun/shout.jpg March 2nd - He finally responds - http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj154/Fandkun/ziggy.jpg March 2nd - He had paid $40 to the person under me with the pink Icon that week. (he was supposed to pay me February 14th) http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj154/Fandkun/zigcopy.jpg March 6th - Tried to get his attention again in hopes he would respond. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj154/Fandkun/zig-.jpg March 6th - Responded informing me he was not going to pay. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj154/Fandkun/willnotzig.jpg Thanks for your time, Aly ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hopefully something can be done - If not, at least they are aware of the situation. Sadly, I don't see me getting the $10 that he owes me, but thank you all for the advice and support! I suppose I'll be taking this as a live and learn situation :) (EDIT - 3/12/12) - My TT was responded to very quickly! __________________________________________________________ Thanks for the ticket. We can't do anything to the user now unfortunately as commissions are a buyer (or seller) beware issue. We are going to keep an eye on the account to monitor for anymore scam situations. I recommend posting to Artists_Beware to warn other artists of this user. They have a great set up and moderators that really benefits the community and helps artists avoid this sort of thing that falls through the cracks of the website. ________________________________________________________ Even though nothing can be done I'm happy that they are keeping and eye on him - It's about as best as a solution as I could have realistically asked for I guess. I hope Ziggy will come around and pay me the $10 he owes me but I don't see it happening unfortunately lol. Hope this has helped other artists who may be commissioned by him in the future! Best of luck guys! EXPLAIN: I'm really not sure what happened to be honest. Everything was going fine and he seemed to like the picture. He asked for changes and I told him I would make those changes after I got payment. He then started to make excuses why he couldn't pay - first it was Tuesday of next week. I waited till that Thursday to contact him. Then he said he'd send me it the next day, which didn't happen. I think the thing that frustrates me the most is when he said "I have bills to pay so I can't pay you." When not a few days early he spent $40 on a commission slot...He only needed to pay me $10 to get the sketch and finish with our business :/. The reason I am posting this after the 8th (the due date I told him he had till) was because of his last shout on my page telling me he's not going to pay me - so why bother waiting. I now plan to watermark all my sketches before sending them out for approval.
  9. Feb. 5th, 2012 at 11:56 PM naughtykitsune Who: Shiroiyuki Where: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/shiroiyuki/ What: A full colored commission When: Going on for close to a year now Explain: Well in October I was recommended by a friend to check out her art which I did and I brought a commission from her at the time because she was open and had reasonable prices. So she posted a journal (which she deleted) saying she was giving a special on pics for $25. this my transaction http://imageshack.us/f/838/incidentone.jpg/ pg/) this is what i asked for http://imageshack.us/f/826/incident2.jpg/. So I brought a spot. She posted a journal right afterwards saying she was depressed and having an art block. I decided to wait because people have that problem. this was posted afterwards http://imageshack.us/f/252/incident3.jpg/ In November I got tired of waiting and looked at her Commission Queue to my surprise my name wasn't there for a commission so I contacted her which went well and reasonable. So after a few days (again...) a new journal was posted saying she was taking new art and such. So then of course another journal posted about an art block. Later that week other people art was posted and still my name wasn't added to the queue. So I was fed up with it and filed a refund because I was tired of waiting and being ignored. So of course instead a well way to settle stuff in a mature manner I got a rage note saying "No I'm not refunding you your money its not my problem this was well hard earn money so don't give me the BS''. She made threats to me as well saying she was going to sue me.shown here http://imageshack.us/f/545/incident5.jpg/ . Let me point out that I got no update on my art so I went to my bank who is set up with paypal and filed a dispute for my money back because I felt scammed and the fact my bank had a flag with her info . She later posted a journal calling me a rude uncalled for name and deleting it due to her getting raged at for speaking to her clients that way. Later along in the year she is posting pictures of stuff she buying and then writing journals later asking for money. This new year she has decided to start on people art but still has an attitude issue where is uses very rude language in her terms and commission queues. shown here (hhttp://imageshack.us/f/850/incident4.jpg/ Recently she has went MIA from her account with more people money she begged for a tablet and she has left her account without doing people art. shown here http://imageshack.us/f/600/scammerza.jpg/ She recently returned with pics of tattoos she has gotten along with a journal full of rage against those who were very unhappy with her taking too long and felt she used the commission money she owe to get the tattoos http://imageshack.us/f/268/rudeness.jpg/ This issue has been resolve. She has refunded my money so no need to comment here anymore.
  10. Jan. 31st, 2012 at 12:06 PM arctic_wuff WHO: orthan WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/orthan WHAT: 2 character commission paid in full up-front. WHEN: Payment was made May 1, 2010 with commission details and such being discussed at the end of April 2010. PROOF: Other than the FA notes, work was never started. See screen captures under cut EXPLAIN: I don’t have all the logs any longer (had a harddrive failure), but after paying the artist in May I agreed to wait until June 2010 for the work. Then artist requested more time and I allowed that. After that point getting a hold of the artist became very difficult and replies seemed to stop coming. I have requested a refund from the artist and have seen nothing yet. Unfortunately the paypal buyer protection time had passed so I was unable to file for a refund with paypal. RESOLVED: After getting a hold of the artist again I was able to get a refund.
  11. Jan. 4th, 2012 at 1:00 AM sciuraamethysta WHO: Kimhana on Livejournal and Deviantart; formerly kimhana on Tumblr, URL now taken by another user WHERE: Deviantart (since deactivated) found here WHAT: A $40 full color digital picture WHEN: The commission was discussed and paid for in full in September of 2010. Contact was made again to check in as of January 2011; over the next few months, various accounts of the artist began to deactivate (LJ and Tumblr, specifically). Numerous emails to multiple addresses were not responded to in August and September of 2011; as of December 2011, the artist's Deviantart account, where the commission was originally discussed, was deactivated. PROOF: A screenshot of the original commission is here (with discussion of the prompt interspersed with personal conversation blacked out for convenience of reading) and a corresponding Paypal screenshot with emails blacked out can be found here . EXPLAIN: It absolutely breaks my heart to do this, as Kimhana remains a favorite artist of mine. If anyone has any information on her, why she's been deactivating, etc, I would love to hear it. The fact that she's dropped off the face of the internet hurts far more than the possibility of losing a commission. From what I can understand, it seems that she switched fandoms and then proceeded to delete her old accounts. For now, this is the most logical series of events that I can piece together. Best case scenario, she's forgetful and the commission slipped her mind and got brushed under the rug as her interests changed. But in the end, if nothing changes, I have to strongly advise against commissioning her. RESOLVED - After a few messages, the last of which mentioned the posting here, she responded on Tumblr and was very apologetic. She offered me a number of options, including a full refund. I took her up on the refund, and she has delivered. Thank you all very much for helping me to resolve this old problem - I appreciate it. :) EDIT: Added Paypal information, clarified Tumblr address, and added links to dead pages. SECOND EDIT: Turns out the Tumblr I originally linked was, by an eerie coincidence, an entirely different person. Please disregard that. THIRD EDIT: Evidently she is indeed still very active on tumblr, but under the changed URL http://neophytecherryglare.tumblr.com/ . ...and asking for commissions. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
  12. Oh wow, I had actually sent them a note a few days ago about their prices range since I was interested in commissioning them in the future. HOWEVER, reading this made me completely lost interest. I hope they never reply to my note.
  13. I've commissioned him twice and both times, the whole process was a little sketchy and made me not want to commission him again. After agreeing on the initial commission info and sending the payment, they basically went silent for the entire duration that they worked on the said commissions. Complete radio silence. No answers, no updates, nothing. Then one day, about a month later, they just dropped the commissions to my Twitter inbox without a word. So yeah, at least I got my commissions, but the customer service and treatment leaves a lot to be desired.
  14. Hello there, I'm very sorry to hear about your experience with me, and I would like to rectify the situation by getting you your art immediately. Since I have no recent contacts from you, I must request your order details again. I am so very sorry for not getting your art to you in a timely manor. I was in and out of the hospital a lot for surgeries, and the busy schedule made it difficult to get my commissions out on time. Then, and since my computer died, I lost my files on who was owed what. This is no excuse though, and I am greatly sorry for letting your commission go unfulfilled. I can guarentee to you that I will not only get your commission completed in a timely manor, it will be streamed live on a day that is good for you, this way you can approve the sketches and see the piece done from start to finish. If you could, please contact me on deviantart, via note, I am Laseros on there. If you were trying to get a hold of me on Furaffinity, My username is Lazeros there, but as of now, I do not check that account as often as I should. I am much more active on Deviantart currently. Again, I deeply apologize for your terrible experience! Please allow me the chance to change your experience to a good one ♥ Thank you very much for your time, ~Lazeros
  15. Did an icon commission from him a few months back. Similar experience to what you’ve outlined. Made my payment, week later and “my thumb drive got completely wiped”. A month later was radio silence, at this point I had emailed him directly. I finally reached out to him on fA and he tells me that he never received any messages on it and my paypal dispute was “blindsiding” him.

How in the world do they not know what badge your granddaughter ordered from them? I'm an artist too and I wholeheartedly believe it's their job to know what commission belongs to who. Even if a lot of people ordered one, they have to be organised enough to know which badge is made for who and what badge gets sent to what address. The last time a badge got lost in mail for a customer from me, I refunded them the shipping costs. They also had a clear copy of the image and they were happy with the shipping refund. From the sound of it, they also didn't ship it with tracking? I feel like it's important to invest in a bit of extra to pay for a tracking number so the customer can see where the badge is currently, that kind of transparency is important when money was exchanged imo.
  17. I just wanted to post an update: It has been one week since I asked for corrections to be made. No communication or updates thus far. To be honest, I was able to fix the image myself through editing. I won't be pursuing this situation further simply because it's a waste of my time, but if I do receive the corrected file, I'll be sure to post here.
  18. On September 21st of 2018 Kircai posted a journal, that has long since been deleted, offering up "Nintendo Themed Commissions" I jumped at the chance to get one, requesting a pic of my sona dressed as Majoras Mask link while also having been regressed with Skull kid/Majora teasing him about playing the song of time too many times. The finalized pic did NOT represent this, and Kircai was very rude towards me, neglected to give any form of progress pics or sketches, and ended up blocking me so i couldn't let him know i was displeased with the final product. This was the final pic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0xj12f7dtxwgx7g/Nintendo - Guba 2.png?dl=0 The only proof i have of him accepting the commission is the paypal transaction: https://i.imgur.com/bvAAR6U.png No further notes or messages were exchanged, other then a comment form him saying he had received payment and would get to work right away on the journal he has since deleted. I opted not to bother Kircai for over a month, as a previous attempt to speak to him resulted in a very rude response and him telling me not to bother him. After a month of not hearing anything from him I tweeted at him asking about the pic, he gave the following reasoning for not giving any updates: https://i.imgur.com/42WFwuF.jpg Everything seemed fine, he gave a reason for being delayed, wasn't rude, and said he would have an update 'tomorrow'. But tomorrow didn't happen, in fact i didn't hear anything from him for another 2 months, during which time he took on piles of new commissions, deleted the journal on FA, and even stopped posting to FA altogether. Finally i decided to tweet at him again about the commission after he opened new commissions for the new year (and had posted a couple as well), but this time he was very rude, made up multiple excuses, and even tried to blame me for his delays: https://i.imgur.com/MyRkvBe.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qh4tCgz.jpg He proceeds to lay all the blame on me, claiming i "Didn't fill the form out correctly" and that caused him to "draw the wrong thing" then my attempt to ask about the commission (which he states in the previous message i didnt reach out, then says i did in the next?) caused him to rush the work and mess up. Then he tried to tell me in the same message that he was planning to do a second free pic for making me wait and because i was 'patient and kind', again saying this in the same message where he blames me for everything. I attempted to point this all out to him, explaining that if i did the form wrong he should have asked me to correct it prior to taking payment, as well as him taking on new commissions, and tell him that i didn't 'reach out' because the last time i tried he told me not to bother him. From there he just kinda goes off the rails, i attempt to apologize for making him feel rushed, he claims he owes me NOTHING despite not even doing the commission i paid for properly, then blocks me. https://i.imgur.com/LbcQMPx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Z9kSwTN.png https://i.imgur.com/17wBKn1.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hXHvxYk.jpg

    Beware: Kircai

That's enough. You have a refund, and this is being locked as there are no more productive things to be said. All that's happening are potshots at each other, and that's not what we are here for. Edit: I also want to stress that the artist is within their rights to refund you. He didn't claim that you threatened with a chargeback. He said that he felt you were the type of client who might do so when they aren't getting their way. This is his way of washing his hands of this transaction, and at this point you need to leave him alone from here on out. He's established a boundary, and it's time to respect it. Also, he's within his rights to repurpose art as he sees fit. You don't own it. This transaction is resolved, because the artist has chosen to resolve it. Please understand that if you continue to poke and prod at him when he's already made it clear that he wants this to be over and done with that you risk the artists who read this not wanting to work with you in the future.
  20. James

    Beware: Kircai

Ahh, so that's what you mean by filled out the form wrong. Contact should have been made with the client immediately when their written prompt didn't match the form. So this boils down to lack of communication and lengthy wait time, but a single char is what the client ordered.
  21. Let me clarify some things, i didnt 'reach out' because the last attempt to talk to you, you told me NOT to bug you and stated you didnt even have a reason. Next, a tweet is a public message, one for everyone to see, i tweeted at you BECAUSE of how you treated me before. Its very clear based on this very response where you literally state outright you based your opinion on what OTHERS said about me that you were unwilling to listen regardless of what i said, and by the way, I did apologize for making you feel rushed, YOU refused to accept it, and those tweets you are referencing came AFTER you refused to accept the apology and after you blocked me AND do not name you specifically, in fact outside of naming you as one of 3 artists who owed me art your name was never mentioned at all. I am not happy about this situation, but this behavior is just unacceptable in my opinion, i made every attempt to diffuse the situation peacefully, but you decided to just get mad at me and ignore the facts.

Nov. 9th, 2011 at 7:14 PM seaweed_fma WHO: Tailbiteryena WHERE: This is the link to the head she was offering: http://fursuitauctions.livejournal.com/2218735.html WHAT: Fursuit head and tail, an Oshawott like character. WHEN: The "auction" began and ended on October 24th, 2011. PROOF: http://fursuitauctions.livejournal.com/2218735.html (same link as above) that is the post where she offered the head. I was the first one to take her up on the offer, so she closed the auction. That link included a post I made almost a week ago asking about a tracking number. I have sent her several private messages over LJ and have not gotten anything back. Some screenshots: That was the first message I sent them the first night they offered the head This is the one response I had from them and my response with my address (blocked out of course) Three messages I sent, 2 weeks ago, 1 week ago, and then tonight, trying to get some information on the head. The paypal screen that shows that I sent the 70 bucks, 50 for the head and tail and 20 for shipping (which I thought was way too much but I wasn't about to argue too much about it) EXPLAIN: Honestly there isn't too much to say. I spoke with the person the night that they offered the head, but I have not heard from them afterwards. I know they said that they were moving and that was why they wanted to money that night, so I sent them the money that night, because they wanted to send it before they moved. This is the first time I have posted here, so I hope that everything is correct here. I am not here to badmouth this person, I just want my head that I paid for, that is all...
  24. Nov. 6th, 2011 at 9:53 AM rhazafax WHO: RottenCanines / Malin -> www.furaffinity.net/user/rottencanines/ WHERE: Furaffinity.net WHAT: Digital Art Trade WHEN: Trade initiated May 2011, Updated November 2011 PROOF: My original post has been included beneath the LJ Cut for reference, and is also located here: [LINK] I am updating that post with her latest response to a question on how her progress is on her half of our trade. In her latest journal, I asked how her progress was. I don't LIKE doing that, but it seems unless you make a question to her public (I would link that in a screen shot, however she removed it from view), she will happily ignore it.This is the response I received: [Screenshot] -- Which is a complete 180 from the initial response I received about her finishing her part of the trade: [Screenshot] And, as I've been writing this, I've received the following notes in response to my stating I would be updating a post on Artist_Beware about the matter: Her reply to my note #1: [Screenshot] + Another note she sent a few minutes later: [Screenshot] The next screen shows my responses to her in the next few notes, as well as her own. The highlighted portions were my responses - and have been highlighted to make reading it easier as nesting quotes get really ugly in FA. [Screenshot] Pretty much at a loss for ideas at this point. I just really want people to be very cautious when dealing with this artist. EDIT 11/08/2011: RottenCanines is making replies in the old thread today. Also, I received this note on FA just now. [Her note to me] [My Reply] [Her reply] EDIT 11/08/2011: RottenCanines has stated she will finish the trade. [link] - I will edit again with further information when it arrives. EDIT 11/09/2011: She has completed her half - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6825227/ The following is the original post I made. PROOF: 1: Trade brought up here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5517582/ (Screen shot of Convo: X ) 2: Her note to me about what she wants from our trade: X 3: I sent a reply with a reference, and affirmation of what I would like in return (as stated in the reply thread on her submission). 4: I post my half of our trade. Her response is positive, even though I missed a few things. X 5: There was a bit of back and forth as I drew up new and improved references for my character, but the subject remained the same. I kept her up to date for 'when she was going to work on it'. 6: Fast forward to today's exchange. My name disappeared from the owed-art list, so I asked about it. 7: Screen shot of shouts: X EXPLAIN: In response to a question about whether or not she took commissions for a certain style of feral art she was doing, I asked if she would be willing to trade since she was unable to take commissions. She was very receptive to the idea (1). She sent me a note with what she wanted (2), and I replied with what I wanted. During the next several months, I changed the species of what I wanted and sent her notes to update her with new references. Each time she replied positively and said she hadn't started on it yet. (5) While this was going on, she had my name on her list of 'people she owed art'. Since I was on her to do list I wasn't terribly worried about it. Between the time that I had finished my half (4) and now, she has drawn dozens of personal art pieces and commissions. Commissions are important and should come first, so those I'm not terribly worried about. However, in my perspective, if I owe half of an art trade, that takes priority over numerous personal pieces. I noticed today, after seeing another of her submissions in my messages and going to her page, that my name has vanished from her owed-art list. I ask about it (7) and receive a (rather strange) response. At no point prior to her response was I contacted and told that she was not going to follow through with her half. Today is the first I even heard about this, and it was not agreed upon by both parties. EDIT: She has contacted me asking what I would like to have drawn, but also says it may take a while due to a lot of things going on in her life. Will post updates as they come. The edit above was from the original post and is not current.
  25. Oct. 28th, 2011 at 9:34 AM nnoitorah This is further to my advice post here: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/530250.html WHO: Bambiboo3 / Happy Tails WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/bambiboo3/ WHAT: Premade fursuit head and tail, as seen here: http://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1026446.html WHEN: Auction ended on 12th October 2011. PROOF: Here's a screencap of my communications with Bambiboo3 from winning the auction. A little explanation first though: I do not live in the USA. I had asked Bambiboo3 prior to bidding if she would ship internationally and she said no. Thus I asked if she would ship this to my very good friend of many years who lives in NC, she agreed, and I placed a bid. My intention from there was to either take a trip over soon and collect the partial or arrange for it to be delivered myself, either way, I made clear to Bambiboo3 that the final part of the delivery would be entirely my responsibility. This isn't really relevant to the beware at all but it might clear up any confusion. Here are photos of the package: NB: anything linking to address details has been edited out, as has Bambiboo3's surname as I have not seen this posted publicly. EXPLAIN: On October 12th I won Bambiboo3's auction for a premade fursuit head and tail over on Furbuy. I emailed her asking for a quote on shipping, which she told me would be $35, for a total of $435. I Paypal'd over $435. She replies to me stating that: "you forgot to add the paypal charges so it came in $17.27 short. If you dont mind sending that last bit that would be great" I was a little taken aback as nowhere on the auction had it mentioned a Paypal fee, and I knew this to be against Paypal rules. I also was taken aback that it was implied I'd "forgotten" it, as if I should have known to add this, or she'd told me to add it. I replied to her stating as much and her response was basically that she asked for $435, but that's not what she ended up with after the fee - thus I should make up the rest. At this point I admit my communications (seen above) got a little irate and not as well phrased as they could have been, I was feeling unwell at the time and was not expecting these difficulties. I asked a number of friends online what I should do (I really did want the head and she was saying she'd relist it) or whether it was fair, to which they said it was not. One of them told me it was against Furbuy policy so I contacted them too, asking about that. They responded that it was definitely not acceptable, and thus I replied telling Bambiboo3 so, and she decided to drop the charge. So some days pass and the head arrives with my friend on October 26th. She immediately contacts me by IM to let me know and unpacks it to check everything is in order. The head, I am told, is just fine and is nice quality. She did say to me though, "how much did you say you paid for shipping again?"...to which I replied $35. She advised me it was stickered with $10.74 and a 70 cent Delivery Confirmation - making my bill over $20 higher than the actual shipping cost. I was also told it was packaged in an old blender box and packed with wadded up grocery bags, and you can see that in the photos above, meaning that none of that was spent on packaging, either. Again annoyed, I emailed Bambiboo3 asking about this discrepancy. That was over 24 hours ago, and with all other emails being answered promptly and seeing as she's been faving things on FA, I assume she doesn't have a good simple answer for this. I may be jumping the gun but at this point I can only recommend against dealing with her. I know this head didn't go for as much as she would like - she was looking at around $700 for head and tail before putting it on Furbuy - but my impression is that she just tries to frisk the customer for anything she can get. EDIT - seeing that Bambiboo has been faving art and posting FA journals, I decided to send her another email: Hey again, I see you have been active on FurAffinity so I guess you either did not receive or are ignoring my last email outright. At this point I want to make you aware that I posted about our transaction to "artists_beware" because I am really not impressed with this. - Sarah I feel like I'm probably not going to get anything back at this point, but I think her (most likely) ignoring my last email is really the icing on the cake here. EDIT 2 - Bambiboo3 has replied to my last email quickly. The conversation is as follows (screencaps available if needed, but it's quicker this way for now): I havent recieved an email O.o when did you send it? My response: The email was sent on the 27th just after midnight your time. Here's a copypaste: -last email as shown above- Bambiboo: Wow im sorry , no the first one didnt come through. So the package was shipped parcel? >.< Oh jeaz i apologize it was supposed to be sent express because i wanted to get it out to you as soon as possible since i was a couple days late getting it out. I dont have a drivers license myself so i have someone send the packages out for me they must have mixed up the packages i gave them that day. If you give me your paypal address ill refund that right away. Me: If you would like to refund I suggest you go to your Paypal and open up our transaction, from there you have an option to issue a partial refund. I would prefer it refunded in this way for my records if you could. It would be much appreciated and I will edit the LJ post to reflect this. Thanks, Sarah She has now issued me a refund. I honestly can't say I am convinced by the excuses but I am happy to have a refund and consider the postage part of the beware resolved.
