  1. Can you not just file a chargeback? It says part was refunded, but the transaction was within 180 days, so you could open a case, could you not?
  2. I would open the case, and do NOT close it until you get your art and extra. If they do end up doing it, you can always resend the money if the case sides in your favour before they do it.
  3. Is there no way to get the money back from the site, even with a TT?
  4. Paypal.me is just paypal. It's the same as sending money via email. If you wanted to use paypals built in refund feature (Which is the way refunds should be given if possible, as it refunds fees too) You could have looked it up with the name provided on paypal.me. (My paypal history shows only names, not emails)
  5. You may also be able to call paypal and provide the images of the ruined print. I know a few people have gotten through to them via phone after closing a case. It's 100% on the seller for shipments and items, not you. Even if you call the post office they will tell you they cannot do anything that it has to be the one that mailed it.
  6. You can include the fees in your price all you want, you cant add an ADDITIONAL fee to you cost, at all. Adding any fees for using paypal is against their TOS. Charge $16 for a commission instead of $15 + $1 fee. Thats all you have to do to avoid being in trouble with PP.
  7. Theyre tax write offs, so you never really 'lose' that money anyways. I have all my fees and time accounted for in my pricing, but its a warning to the OP, because paypal has shut down more accounts for charging customers fees than they have for NSFW.
  8. I refuse to work with multiple people for this very reason. But as a heads up, you cannot charge your customers paypal fees, even if its for split payments. It's against paypals TOS.
  9. I wouldnt. Or, ask for a payment after completion. If the artist really wants your money enough to go to YOU, they'll be willing to wait until after, especially if you feel they might scam.
  10. I have a patreon that has stopped replying. They havent OKed their last patreon reward, and its about time for the next. Ive tried to get in contact on discord (their preferred method) and patreon itself. Theyre still a patron, they just arent replying to ANYTHING. If they dont reply, how long do I hold on to their reward slots? Should I force boot them from patreon?
  11. I blacklist people via blocking if they request refunds without an actual reason. If Ive fallen behind, or they've got an emergency I dont. But it's very annoying to have to constantly refund someone, and I dont want to take the risk that they ask again. It's not something against the buyer, but moreso a protection from me, because as an artist I have wasted my time setting up a commission just for someone to cancel. That takes away from time I could be working, or getting another commission.
  12. Took a commission from someone mid may. They originally ABed a YCH stating they could pay in 3 or 4 days. But they wanted a bunch of edits and because I dont do that for YCHs, I told them to order a normal comm. It was finalized 16/17th of May.Then, they said they could pay half on the 1st, half on the 15th. (Later than their original pay date) My last two notes have remained unread. I left a shout and they replied they were busy. A week after I left another shout, and now both shouts have been deleted without any reply. I sent a final pay or cancel note. I did not start any artwork, but I wasted a lot of time on notes back and fourth. I have had issues with the user in the past, for bidding/ABing YCHs but never actually buying them due to lack of refs, or content issues. But I had one successful one last fall from them, so I thought it'd be okay. EDIT; I realise not a normal beware, but more a caution post as I have seen posted a few times.
  13. Telegram also will tell you the last time someone logged in, there is no way to hide this. It will either show an exact date, or a general timeframe. Click on their name/pic to bring up their user info. If it says "long long time ago', than they havent been on, or you're blocked (If you can see their pic, you arent blocked). If it says anything else, they have been online within 24 hours, or the date it says. Try their paypal email, and give an ultimatum if they dont reply, but be prepared to fight for a refund, as it's very obviously theyre lying about the Telegram ban, and it seems like a way to get out of art/talking to customers.
  14. Sending via f&f now charges me over half of the transaction amount, sometimes more. I tried to send $5, and it wanted me to pay $10 total. I usually use ko-fi for tips. Or if its an artist I know and trust, include it ahead of time.
  15. I had someone sell off the sketch for an art trade (their part) that I did with someone. It's really not chill when artists do this, unless its specifically a base or multi slot.
  16. I meant the friendly chatter, not the checking up on the progress. Business =/= friendship.
  17. I do agree that you messaged them way too much; unless you two were friend, I dont see the need to do friendly chatter within a business transaction. As an artist this would bother me a lot. Did they have their TOS in a public place? For a suit, something that will almost always have down payments and non refundable parts, Im surprised they didnt show it to you personally. And the fact that they didnt keep receipts seems odd too. They missed way too many deadlines, and they should have owned up to that. Also 'heads are quick' versus 'over a year wait'.....
  18. Googling their name comes up with these; https://www.redbubble.com/people/caninevomit https://steamcommunity.com/id/Caninevomit Goolging their name comes up with " transformice user Caninevomit" on a lot of art. I have no idea if thats a site, or a roleplay or what, but you can look in to it and see if theyre active there. This is googles cache of their trello saying they quit Amino -
  19. Do a beware. Trades are still 'paid' work. The currency being art instead of money.
  20. My commission prices include my time answering notes and marketing (journals and whatnot); I charge a private fee for clients that dont want their art posted because I lose out on that marketing. But, you are not spending any money (or time) on a SINGLE thing that you will not be able to reuse (aka like violent pink fur, or a neon yellow marker, for example) so digital artists should NOT be charging kill fees when no work had been done. Computer parts are 100% write off on taxes (if its a work pc). You dont really 'lose' that money. I would not buy from anyone who has any kind of fee for unstarted work. Thats a red flag for me.
  21. In digital media, there should be no percentage kept for unstarted work. There is nothing to buy which would require some sort of deposit, like a fursuit. Even if it was tangible, %50 is insane.
  22. Artist cancels = full refund Client cancels = partial refund. (unless work has not been started) Obviously theres a bit more than black/white but thats generally the best moral code.
  23. So she sent the refund without even confirming you're email, and it wasnt yours? Did you end up actually getting the refund in hand?
  24. She never posted or even kept any type of queue. She originally told me multiple times I'd be next, and then later said there was 10 people ahead of me.
