    Beware: Jazz-o

Aannnd then they take the most unprofessional route ever by forcing a piece on you that you already made clear that you didn't want. The audacity. So from a 10 11 year freelancer, I have some advice for Jazz-o: When you take someone's money you're a business. When your client states they don't want the work anymore you stop and give them their refund. Even if it's in partial payments, you give them their refund. How you handle the collab payout is between you and the artists, but since you dropped the ball, you deliver the funds. You are responsible for providing WIPs. It is not the client's job to ask you to do yours. I see the queue isn't clear and yet more commissions are being piled on. Stop. Adding more work when you've got a backlog is a great way to invite 100% justified chargebacks. Up your prices and take on less work. Jesus, $50 for a full body with a background? No wonder they're backlogged.
  2. Unfortunately, OP has notified us that Mastercard has sided in the artist's favor. Mastercard has a 120 day filing limit.

Oh wow I just noticed this haha, congrats on hitting 1000 users for the site then! ^^

  4. If they took extra money then it's a chargeback. Call PayPal. Never use their online system. At the very least they'll remove the chargeback fee. Offer proof the client accepted the images. They either had no intention of paying or they used a CC they had no authorization to use. PayPal, nor any payment processor, has the power to dismiss these. It's in the hands of the credit card company. All PayPal can do is reimburse you out of pocket.
  5. Folks can blacklist for any reason they want provided it's not a protected class.

  7. I absolutely would not. They're attempting to guilt trip you to send over art that they knew they couldn't afford. It's not your problem if they don't get it by Christmas. Tell them no, stand firm. Don't justify or argue with them. Just tell them how much is due and leave it at that.
  8. Sure! That's a good idea. :)
  9. It's all good! I'm vision impaired myself, so I feel you. You struck gold though so thank you!
  10. The thread was pretty long, with about five pages containing other artists' information. Managed to dig out and censor the posts. Looks like he's made a habit of sending something to get PayPal to side in his favor. Let me get the tags updated.
  11. Yeup, in judging by the email it looks like the artist provided something that caused Paypal to claim the service was done. The unfortunate thing is that it could be OP getting something for approval. I'm hoping OP will be able to send the resolution center caps, because gosh, it's so weird.
  12. Howdy! Your post was in the wrong spot, so I went ahead and moved it. All advice posts are to be anonymous, so the second post with the images in question was hidden.
  13. Oh gosh I'm sorry to be responding to this late. We specifically talked about this in the mod chat, and then everyone got swamped with work irl. No, we don't have a spot, and don't realllyyy have plans for one. The general forum is pretty dead, and it's probably best not to spread ourselves too thin.
  14. Armaina already got what I was going to type out, but I will say this was a frustrating read. Mo is obviously in the throes of a death spiral. Where an artist needs to take on X work to make bills, but by the time the next round is due the work isn't done yet. If they're getting frustrated by clients asking for edits let alone getting their work in a timely manner, it's only going to get worse from here. At this point the only way out is to raise prices to take on less work. I guffawed at them offering 15 stickers, when it comes out to less than $10 a sticker. No wonder they're trying to fly out work and getting frustrated when you politely ask for valid edits. Going to have to agree with @flucket on the twitter spam. Mo legitimately messed up here, but responding with spam isn't a good idea.
  15. Yes, it's ported in now. OP is referring to an off site beware, and IPS didn't play nice when another mod ported the update in.
  16. I have more in depth thoughts, but since I'm on my phone: as a heads up transactions cam only be refunded up to a certain period of time. The chargeback time is longer, so Mo more than likely didn't have the option to refund the original transaction. I would still be wary about chargebacks though. Also, users have no ability to edit or delete their own posts. As a general shout out to anyone who may want to pressure OP to remove it. They can't. Edit: Mo's pronouns are they/ them.

  18. So was there an agreement for payment? You mention doing repairs for free at a con, and then say you'll add length to the arms for shipping. How much did you quote them to repair the suit itself?
