PupJaxces/Marbleshark/Marblemephit messaged me on the 8th of February 2023 saying they like my character and offered a discounted full body commission for $45 (I even tipped them later). I accepted and paid, then patiently waited like I normally do with commissions. After several months of going back and forth and empty promises, them making up stories to get more money from me, and me trying to accommodate them not wanting to do nsfw commissions anymore, I found out from this site that I wasn't the first person they've scammed this way. That's when I realized they never intended on completing my commission and I asked for a refund, which they denied over and over again because they claimed it had already been started (I have yet to receive a single wip.) At this point I completely gave up and decided to go through with the chargeback process, but since it was way past PayPals chargeback cutoff they were unwilling to help me, so I gave up for a while. Since then I've gotten my banks help, and they were kind enough to put the funds back into my account since a chargeback would take even longer. TLDR: they have scammed me and several others on this site, do not commission them. I've included all our correspondence in this beware, including the artist acknowledging the payment, be warned it is nsfw in nature.

In April 2022 I met Kittbites at a party at my college. She said she was open to doing my commission after she took care of some things. I commissioned her because she said she would be able to finish my suit in time for Megaplex 2022, in early August. I took a little while to think about it, and then confirmed that I wanted to buy from her on May 15th. Three days later the invoice was paid. The total price was a fursuit head for $800, handpaws for $200 and a tail for $200. (I should first mention that this post is going to be very long. Kitt strung me along for almost an entire year while holding onto over a thousand dollars, and after finding out she has an extensive history of scamming, I just managed to get under half of that back, as well as a barely finished product, under the threat of legal action.) At first things were fine. But within a couple of weeks Kitt's responses began to become more and more sparse. This would set the precedent for the rest of our interactions, and it only got worse from there. It should be noted that Kitt was up front about some personal issues that she was going through at the time, which I have tried as best I can to leave out of this post. The problem is that over time it became clear she was using these problems as an excuse to not work on my commission. I know this because I was later able to find other examples of her work that were completed around this time. I will do my best to leave these issues out of this post regardless. I was a little upset that she left for two whole weeks at this point, but she eventually got back to me with correspondence. The suit was progressing along pretty well at this point, and Kitt was still responding in a semi-timely manner. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before the fur was lost by Fedex. I'm fully aware this isn't Kitt's fault, and I'm including this to give her the benefit of the doubt that she could have gotten my suit finished by August. (Also I hate Fedex) Eventually August rolled around. It became clear Kitt probably wouldn't have the entire suit finished in time. I remained hopeful. On August 1st Kitt gave me this update. "I have most of the fur sewn." This implies that she barely did any work on the suit from this point onwards. Shortly after this Kitt had some stuff happen in her personal life, and wasn't able to finish ANY of the suit on time. A few days later, Kitt completely dissapeared. August 8th was the last I'd heard from her, and I didn't hear from her again until September 12th. Due to the rules of this website I am not allowed to disclose where she went, but suffice it to say that she left the internet for the time. She gave me no warning that this could or might happen, and when she came back she gave a half-hearted apology. At this point I was beginning to get suspicious of her, but I had no recourse in the event that she take my money and run, so I was forced to smile and feign forgiveness. Unfortunately she immediately left again for another two weeks. The upper texts of the first image here are from September 15th. Then another week. Kitt then showed some more progress with the suit, including a fully furred head, but she got sick immediately after. However, she promised she would be able to have the suit delivered by November. I won't provide the screenshot of this mainly because it almost exclusively consists of cities and events Kitt and I are local to. However, I can show that she ghosted me again throughout the month of November: Kitt then promised she would have the suit done by Christmas. After leaving for another 2 weeks, some more "stuff" happened. At this point I was fully convinced that she was making things up, and was about ready to confront her about her making me wait almost seven months at this point. It was 4 days before Christmas and she sent me a picture of the "finished" head. I honestly really didn't like it but at this point I just wanted to get it over with so I said it looked fine. I had a separate friend who edited fursuits and I was planning on just having them finish any changes I didn't like. Kitt then decided to cancel half the order, deciding to refund me less than the original $200 I paid for both the handpaws and tail. Christmas came and went without any kind of correspondence, and I finally put my foot down. On January 7th I brought up the prospect of legal action. Kitt did not address this in any way. Through some investigation I also discovered that she had a commission manager this entire time that she neglected to tell me about. I messaged them and they immediately got her to send the unfinished fursuit head. This was about the best outcome I could have hoped for and at this point I wanted this all to be over with so I didn't contest it. This was also the last straw, and I gave her a final deadline of March 15th, 2023 to BOTH send me the suit and give me a refund of 500 dollars that I could use to pay my other friend, who would finish the suit. Kitt's manager responded much quickly, and was able to almost immediately get Kitt to send me what she had finished. The package arrived a few days later. Here was Kitt's finished product: This all but confirmed my suspicions that Kitt had barely even been working on my fursuit since August-November, and only found time to work on it with repeated pestering. Even at the time that I told her to stop and send me an unfinished version instead, she had over a month to continue from being "almost done." In any case, I now had her legal name and number on the shipping box, and was fully intending to report her in for what technically constituted as a felony. Kitt stopped texting me for almost an entire month before the deadline, but on March 13th, she finally got me my refund. I genuinely wasn't expecting her to. In conclusion, Kitt almost stole $1,200 from me, led me on for almost an entire year by taking advantage of my sympathy, and in the end somehow did the bare minimum in delivering an UNFINISHED product. It took the threat of police action to get her to do anything. Please for the love of god do not commission her. She has a history of this and I only happened to be lucky enough to be local to her and able to contact local authorities. In addition, she has dropped her commission manager and there is now no way of contacting her in a way that will get a reliable response back. Good night.

In April of 2022 I commissioned artist Kittygrave on Twitter for a simple flatcolored bust sketch of my OC to help support them when they said they needed money. I paid the money and waited about a month, what I figured was more than enough time to get the commissions done since it was nothing seriously huge, they responded saying they would have it done at some point in June. I let some time go by, and nothing ever came of it. So I reached back out in November for any updates or a refund if they were too busy or no longer wanted to do it, again another promise to have it done, but this time within a week! At this point I'm a bit too antsy and 10 days had gone by, so I requested a refund and they promised it by the end of the week. At this point I become a bit more firm on my requests and set them to this strict time frame since they had promised it yet again. They responded and said they'd have it within 24 hrs, as of January 4th I have yet to receive any kind of refund or a response even though I had asked for updates. During this now 9 month wait, and past my given deadline, they had done personal art, opened commissions (They deleted the comm advertising post, but evidence of it will be posted), and adoptable batches. They HAD a trello but had taken it down to update it and I have been unable to find it since. I don't even know if I was ever put on it to begin with as it was inaccessible to me before my commission. Normally things like this I would even be fine with, but they just did little communication and never updated me if they needed to extend a deadline, which I would have been totally cool with! May 29, 2014 https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/770411.html Who/Where: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/bluewolfcheetah/ http://kaylaskritterz.com/ What: $300 of faux fur with cigarette smoke smell When: May 12 onwards Proof/Explain: BlueWolfCheetah posted some images up on their FurAffinity gallery selling off their stock of faux fur (those have since been deleted since all the fur was sold, so I wasn't able to get screen shots of those). In total, I ended up buying $300 worth of fur from them. Emails one, two, and three detail what I bought initially ($255 invoice and payment). I bought an additional $55 worth of fur slightly later on their submission on FA (invoice and payment). Their user page said that they had pets, which wasn't an issue as I also have pets. I received the fur a few days later, the second smaller shipment arriving shortly after. When I opened the fur however, I noticed all of it smelled like cigarette smoke more than a little bit. When I asked the seller if the furs came from a smoking household (which is something I've seen sellers warn about before out of courtesy), she said it did but the smoker's room was on the other side of the house and shouldn't be noticeable. Communication up to that point was fairly quick, I'd get a response within hours if not minutes of my messages. After that response it took multiple emails from me and closer to a day/a day and a half to get a reply. When I told them that yes, there was a definite smoke smell to the fur and it was going to be unusable, all they said was to repeat that it shouldn't be noticeable, and maybe I should try to febreeze it or hang it up. I replied back saying that I had tried that with no effect, and had to completely saturate the fur in baking soda and vinegar multiple times to get rid of the smell and wasn't happy with having to spend money on things that I had bought to fix a problem that I was not told about, and received no reply back. I sent another email asking for a small refund to help cover the cost of the cleaning supplies I had to buy, and have yet to receive a reply. Edit: resolved, partial refund recieved

In November, SugarFactory posted she lost her job. In December, she posted she was sick and would soon issue refunds. I attempted to contact her in December and January, but received no responses. One of them I noticed was a collab, so I noted this other artist in hopes they would know more about sugarfactory's whereabouts. They said she was sick, and that she wasn't directly working with them. They suggested to be patient and continue attempts to note her. She also stated that she would no longer take commissions. That journal has since been deleted. (It is worth noting that on April 10, 2014, sugarfactory started using the 'gummifruit' account to take plush and bandana commissions.) I sent her multiple notes after this (about 1-2 a month), which either received no response, or a promise that it would be refunded soon (within a few days). At the end of April, she posted that her bank account was compromised for fraud, and refunds would be delayed again. Several slots were open and I messaged him to confirm there was still availability. After receiving confirmation from him through Weasyl that slots were still open I requested one. I sent him an email on March 26 with full details of the requested artwork and three references. He responded the same day with a sketch but it didn't match exactly what I was going for. I suggested a few changes and was quoted a price of $60 for the artwork. I paid $70 up front. The extra money was to compensate him for the extra time spent on the sketch. On March 27 he provided an updated sketch showing the proposed changes. The sketch was perfect and I sent confirmation of the sketch on March 28. After that he became completely silent. I sent a message on April 9 via email and another through Weasyl on April 15. In both messages I expressed concern over the lack of updates and asked for the current status. I received a response on Weasyl on April 17 stating there had been no progress for a variety of personal issues and he'd have an update to me as fast as he can. I received no updates of any kind after that date. Since then all of his artwork has been deleted from Weasyl and Furaffinity. His Twitter account has been entirely deleted as well. He appears to have vanished. On May 12 I sent him messages by email, Furaffinity and Weasyl explaining that I'd like a refund or the artwork. I have had no response. UPDATE: On Friday, 3/4/16, Grizurso contacted me unexpectedly on Twitter. He asked for my PayPal address and refunded me the full $75 I originally paid. He did this on his own without any prompting from me. I consider the matter resolved.

After being given specific instructions, she did one of the badges,and while it was cute, it wasn't what I had asked for and she had agreed to do. When I mentioned to her that it wasn't quite was I was hoping for, she flipped out. She blocked me, deleted my comments, and told people 'it was settled and she had paid me'. This wasn't true: she still had the tail, and I wasn't compensated. Recently I again contacted her again about a refund on FA (screenshot). As before, she deleted my comments on her page (screenshot), but this time sent me an email. After a lengthy conversation where I was called a 'bully' multiple times for insisting she pay me fore the item she took, I was issued a refund. I feel I was terse, but my intent was not to 'bully' her. (It brings to mind calling the police bullies when they arrest you for shoplifting.) Although this is resolved, I'm posting the conversations. WHEN: Payment was sent on April 5th, with an estimated time of "one to two weeks" As of writing this it is May 16th and I have yet to see a picture. Every time I would ask about the progress the ETA would be moved back, and obviously that deadline would pass every time. PROOF:Here is an image with all of the emails, including dates, as well as the proof of payment http://sta.sh/023ordupo2v5 EXPLAIN: So in late March I inquired about getting a foam head base from Isabella here, and after a week, payment was arranged with an estimated time of completion at one to two weeks. I did say that I wasn't in a huge rush, but I certainly didn't think it would take any more than a month. Well weeks went by with little contact, and only when I myself initiated. After a few weeks I switched from the FA forums to FA itself to speak with her, and she consistently gave me new completely meaningless deadlines. I made it clear that I was running out of time and specifically said at one point that if it could not be completed within the week that I would need a refund. Of course it was NOT completed in that week even though she said it would be. It should be noted that after I looked at her journals I noticed she had a very long queue of both digital art and head bases (and I wasn't even listed in them, I might add). Clearly, she had overbooked herself and should have known very well that it would be impossible to finish my base in one to two weeks. The fact that she omitted this truth to me I find to be a bit insidious. I will not reveal their identity but I did seek out another client to ask if they were having similar issues. It turns out they've been waiting for their base since November! At this point I have opened a paypal dispute to get my money back. I have not gotten any responses from the artist in a few days now but the best thing to make me content would be to just have a quick refund and be on my way. Though the quality of her bases looks to be well above average, don't commission her if you want your base done anytime this year. It seems very clear to me that this artist is quick to take on too much work (and all the money that comes with it) but is very slow to show anything for it.

The REAL owner of this character put this character up for sale at the start of May and then decided to keep him. However, often people change their minds and sell in private. Which is what I thought happened. http://s26.postimg.cc/56khp2a0p/image.png The REAL owner (I have hidden their name since they have done nothing wrong, see later) has this posted up on their adoptable account. So following the trail it seemed legit that they were sold to verilotte. http://s26.postimg.cc/m0poundx5/image.png Someone had even mailed the REAL owner's main account asking if they had actually sold the dreamy to Verilotte. So I concluded from what I could get that verilotte did in fact own that character. I offered $200 to buy him and they accepted. http://s26.postimg.cc/yqtx7qlvd/image.png They asked me to send payment which I did do. http://s26.postimg.cc/d30djjw3d/image.png Two hours later the REAL owner post this journal about being hacked: http://s26.postimg.cc/mrif0fgah/image.png I found out through this journal that an hour after I bought this character for $200 someone else bought the SAME character for $250. I'm sure they will be making their own post about this issue, but I was SHOCKED it was sold twice. Will link once she does. I am just in shock how far people will go to steal and sell adoptables. I did my best to check up on how legit they were to be selling the character but I found myself scammed in the end. +There have been many reports to fA staff about this, I have reported it as well +I have made a claim on paypal. The buyer has until May 21st to reply. Will update after that. If paypal doesn't side will me I WILL be going to my bank since half of it was paid out of my bank account. Edit;// May.17.2014 The other victim of this told me that she had LOST her paypal claim because Verilotte had "more evidence" than her. I looked at my claim and it says that paypal is reviewing the claim. I called paypal up right away and they told me that I had to file a claim with my bank as well (because half was paid out of my bank). I drove down to my bank and filed a claim with them as well. Pretty much both my bank and paypal are now looking into the issue. We both also have been trying to contact the fA staff with more information about the hacking with NO REPLY. We both tried to post shouts about it on dragoneer's wall as well. This might be the missing information I need to win my claim. Because Verilotte had "more evidence" than the other victim and I have no idea what they have, so the information from fA would be really handy. Edit:// May.20.2014 So paypal limited my account and closed the claim because I made a claim with my bank, which paypal told me to do. I am really unsure what is going on with my claim at the moment but I am going to call both paypal and my bank in the morning. Edit:// May.20.2014 I was able to get my paypal account unlocked, and my money back. I would still suggest everyone to stay away from Verilotte as I have not heard from them at all about the issue. They apparently responded to the claim, however paypal did side with me. I asked If there was any updates or news since I thought It would be a fast and easy fix for him to do and I got an Alarming thing back " My parents kinda stopped me " , I told him right off to get it sorted right away , It may of only been $10 but Still That is money out of the paypal , I gave him till the next day to get it sorted , that's a hurry I know but I wanted to show I wasn't going to take any Lies , I gave him 3 days with little Messages to just remind him , he had seen them all but Was ignoring them all which has annoyed me. he still comments on other peoples things and comes online often, after a bit of digging around to find out something I was told by someone this " I'm not upset or annoyed or anything with her, it's just I need to sort things and being offline will help " about me. I have not even been given an update from him saying " I am sorting it out" Just" I had to dig to find out what is happening and It doesn't even give me a little bit of an idea of what is going on. Id normally give someone more than a couple days to sort something out but I have been given nothing to red flags everywhere by him. it happened to someone else with him according to him , paypal making a mess up on which person to charge back? , His parents telling him not to do anything? and ignoring my messages and then him telling a friend he will be offline instead of updating me and keeping me in the loop I never wanted to go to artist beware but all my messages are getting no where. I am also sorry for any Crammer problems with this post , I couldn't find anyone to proof read. I have no idea what to do at this point , I will just have to wait and see now. so Beware because I may not be the only one with this happening to me. edit: He has Finally Started to talk to me again , I didn't know he was 17 I really need to check peoples ages from now .

Back in November 2021 (on the 14th specifically), I saw that netcrow had opened for emergency commissions and messaged them to inquire about a 3-panel page since I love their art and was excited to get an opportunity to commission them. Here is the exact tweet of theirs advertising their commissions: It was stated that turnaround times would be "very slow" and I understood that they were dealing with health issues, so I was aware of this ahead of time. However I did not expect to be where I'm at currently, going on 9 months since I commissioned them without having received any proof of my comm being started, with every deadline they have provided being missed and very poor (or lack thereof) communication. I'm not writing this out of malice but to make other clients aware and to hopefully motivate netcrow to work out a better sort of routine or workflow for managing their commissions. Shortly after I messaged them on the 14th, I received a reply stating that my commission had been accepted and we then went over further details: Initially, I was told that that I could expect the first WIP "that week." That week passed without me receiving anything, but it was no big deal to me since I understood everything they were dealing with, and I was content to wait longer. I did not hear from them again until February 10 of this year, when I reached out to give them an updated ref for my OC after being reminded of my comm from seeing them open for another batch of commissions: I received an apology for the wait and was given a new time for when I could expect the first WIP. I absolutely do/still did understand what they were dealing with so again, I was content to wait further but was admittedly excited about being able to lookout for a WIP again. The week after this came and went however, and again, I did not hear anything from them nor did I end up actually receiving one. Several more months passed, and I still did not hear anything from them. I was starting to get concerned at this point so I reached out again on June 18th to inquire about the status of my commission and ask to know where I was at in their queue: What really alarmed me is how netcrow stated that they have "no particular queue," but again, I tried to be optimistic and as understanding as possible. At this time I received another apology and was told that they would try to get my commission that month and "maybe even finish it." To their credit I have seen them posting some finished commissions, but almost every one has been captioned as being "very overdue" or "extremely old" such as the ones below: Between the time of June 19 - August 7 I did not hear from them anytime; it was radio silence again. More recently, I informed some friends and other artists about the situation to ask for advice, which has lead to me now writing this beware and reaching out to them again. On the morning of August 8th, I messaged netcrow again expressing my concerns and requesting that they provide a firm deadline for providing a sketch: At the time of me submitting this beware, I have not heard back yet. Like I've stated, I truly do not mean this out of any sort of malice but simply out of concern and frustration. I wish the absolute best for netcrow with navigating their health issues, but this is not a good way to manage commissions and I'm figuring that other clients of theirs may be in the same or similar positions. I'm a very patient person and do my best to be as polite and understanding as possible, but the lack of communication and lack of a proper queue here have me greatly concerned and anxious as I am out of $320 with not even a sketch to show for it 9 months later. I still do love their art and would love to receive my commission, but the long periods of silence and overall experience have me a bit down :[ I don't wish to come across as a spiteful or mean individual whatsoever.

Original Agreement: Sam agreed to compose an original musical composition for use in my streams on November 7th, 2021. Proof of Payment (and Paypal Resolution): Correspondance: During the initial agreement, he directly stated that he would be providing WIP pieces of it "as I go" but not once delivered. On Nov 21, he reached out, stating he would have a draft ready in a couple days, but nothing came of it. This was the beginning of a pattern. Over a month went by without receiving the promised Draft, and I reached out to Sam again on December 27 asking for updates. He got back to me on Jan 2 stating there had been some issues with his health and he had taken on too many commissions. I replied that it was okay as long as he communicated with me. He still hadn't sent the initial draft promised on Nov 21, but he promised he'd send it "once I get home." This draft did not arrive either. I reached out again, a month later, on Feb 2 to ask for updates. According to him, it was now "basically done" despite no received drafts. At this point I just wanted to hear something, anything. Ten days later, I again asked for an update since I was debuting a new related project and I wanted to get a listen to it to see if it was in a good state. As he had said it was "basically done." I figured this wouldn't be an issue. Sam did not respond. It was also around this point when he disabled read receipts on messages, as prior communications could be noted as Seen but now all were reflecting "Sent." I then gave him until March 7th, which was exactly four months since payment was made before reaching out for a final time and requesting either proof of work or a refund within 48 hours. Sam did not reply and on March 9th, I submitted a case to Paypal and received a refund instantly via purchase protection. Timeline of Events: 11/5/21 - Initial contact for commissioned work. 11/7/21 - Artist Acceptance of commission and payment of $20 price plus $30 tip completed. Artist notes that he will “send bits and pieces of the product as [he] goes.” 11/10/21 - User gives go-ahead to use existing artist samples and accepts limitations of workflow. 11/21/21 - First promise of a WiP “within a couple days.” 12/27/21 - First update request due to failure to deliver promised WiP. 01/2/22 - Artist response and second promise of WiP “once I get home.” 2/2/22 - Second update request due to failure to deliver promised WiP. 2/2/22 - Artist response: “It’s basically done.” Please note that no WiP has yet been received despite promises to the contrary. 2/12/22 - Third update request due to failure to deliver promised WiP. Additional request for preview to utilize for upcoming event for the user as “it’s basically done.” 3/7/22 - Final update request with demand of either promised work or a refund within 48 hours. 3/9/22 - No Response. Refund requested through Paypal Resolution Center. I had initially been introduced to Sam via a friend of a friend who said he had fallen on some hard times and was taking commissions for help. I understand things are rough for everyone, and I understand the pitfalls many artists end up in when taking on too much work, but it's unethical to promise something and not deliver it. As stated to Sam, I was more than happy to work with someone struggling or having issues (as I have in the past) and even wait upwards of a year for a commission as long as I can see proof that it's being worked on. Even if that work in miniscule over time, just give me something. But don't promise WiPs multiple times and not send a single thing. Don't ghost me for 30+ days at a time after each promise. I know of at least one other commissioner of Sam's that has also had to deal with this from him, but I will allow them to document their own experiences or leave comments here on their own. I got a bad feeling once or twice around the time I was paying him. But I didn't listen to it because I always feel bad saying no and/or making people upset. I was just too naive and gullible. I am not sure if it'll get solved. If it does that's a plus. But I'd like this to be here as a warning. Do not commission someone if you get any sliver of a bad feeling. And please, be wary of people that come to you for a commission.

All I can say is stay as far away from this person as possible. She owes money to so many people and I am surprised she has never been posted on here before. I stuck with her all this time and I'm afraid to say I am no better off for it 😞 I wish I didn't have to post this, but I haven't much choice given the present situation. The price came to $75. The stream ended before Paint could get around to my commission, so she told me to attend tomorrows stream where she would work on it. I did, but she was too busy doing newly paid for commissions from that stream to work on my one, so it never got done. Some may ask why I would be silly enough to take up a third commission with Paint when she already owed me two that were late... I was assured the reason they were delayed so long was because Paint worked better during a stream, that work gets done during a stream. So I trusted her when she said a commission taken on during the stream would get done, but of course it didn't... When: When I started to feel no progress had been made for too long, I started contacting Paint regarding this. I kept in touch, I attended streams when I was told she could do them then, I was open for negotiation on how to move forward with them. The only alternative to maintain conversation would be to invade a journal or stream and hijack the discussion for this purpose, which inevitably would have led to me being made to look the bad guy... The worst part is, and probably why I've tolerated this for so long, is because I don't want Paint to dislike me 😞 I still don't, but I cannot imagine she will be happy to see I have posted this. My question to her would be "what else could I have done?" because I tried everything. I begged you to work with me to resolve this matter in the end and you responded with the silent treatment, what more could I have done? I hope she cares enough about what other people think that being posted up on Artists Beware will prompt her to want to get this matter sorted. But given she is already up here for reasons similiar to my own, I'm just not sure... Best case scenario is I'm refunded for the commissions (accounting for reductions for the completed Emily poses) and we can both move on. Maybe in time even get over this experience and get back on good terms again? But that's just me being hopeful. You know what they say - fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, Shame on me. Well, shame on me. Readers of Artists beware may know that I had a spat with Knuxlight back in 2013-2014, in which he took a commission he had no intention of completing and then proceeded to go silent on me after missing his hard date. I had posted on Artists beware, and after informing him of the post and said "What do you intend to do about this?", refunded me. Now allow me to explain why I gave him the time of day again. Well, after being tricked into thinking he reformed over the course of 2016-2017, he has reverted to his old ways. That one is on me - because he had been seen completing commissions in a timely manner, I had thought maybe we got through to him. In fact, several of my friends [who shall remain nameless aside from letters.] had commissioned him and got completed commissions. During this, I commissioned him twice and he followed through. So, now that I have explained why I was willing to give this person another chance, let's get into what happened, and why you should never commission this person - regardless of how well he has finished your icon over the last year. This behaviour is just unacceptable. So. May 2018. He offers discounts on his commissions because of Biggest Little FurCon (BLFC). Well. That should be alright enough, right? So I send my info and pay. However, disaster strikes - Knuxlight loses all of his saved work, which he stored on a thumb drive. (Yes. You read this correctly.) Looks like he might be learning, right? I mean crap happens. Well, around July, I request an ETA. His response comes off as rude, but well, I am a very forgiving person. From what I gathered, he was kind of just posting on his timeline in hopes all of us would see it. Around October, I ask for advice. Some people gave me response saying that I should give him a warning that I would be filing a dispute with Paypal - just to give him a little bit of a chance. Fair enough. I decide to give him a warning - Art by November 3rd, 2018, or I file a dispute with Paypal. Silence. In the meanwhile, he is taking icons that are made by editing templates - which seem to have a quick turnaround. He even manages to do several pieces piece of personal artwork in this time. Personal artwork. He has the time to draw a ref sheet for his boyfriend and draw a piece of personal artwork for himself and his boyfriend. Yet he could not seem to take the time to check his DMs or even provide a WIP. Another player, 4D, contacts knuxlight. Then out of nowhere, suddenly Knuxlight says he may have something for me. Well. I don't file the chargeback... which is my bad, and to date I still regret it. The week passes, so now I cannot file the dispute, and Knuxlight literally has gone silent on me. The only time I catch him is when he is streaming "PWYW" commissions. I don't put him on the spot, I simply DM him and ask if he has a WIP or has made any progress. He simply tells me "This really is not a good time, dude." Before I had spoken to him on the stream, I had even sent him a message on FA like he requested me to do... and it goes unread. Thank you antiquated FurAffinity web design that lets you know when someone is ghosting you. Finally, 4D loses it. In the meanwhile, Knuxlight starts taking Christmas icons - and he's gotten more creative with them. Out of nowhere, I find $90 sent to my paypal account from him. No word from him. It just... comes out of nowhere. So I'm legitimately shocked, but also surprised. However, I'm told from somebody else (the person he listened to) that he claimed he didn't know my Twitter handle. Wow. Seriously. Don't conduct business through twitter - because according to him, DMs are anonymous. That's some VERY poor design there. Oh wait. DMs are NOT anonymous. He was hiding from me and we caught him. I got my money back, but suffice to say, there will not be a third time. I gave a warning about him years ago, and have warned others who are asking for updates on their commissions. I gave him another chance, and he still thought it would be a good idea to take the money and run. In the meanwhile, I have spotted several people who are on his FA page asking for an update on their icons, and informed them "Buddy, you're not getting your art - he has no interest in it. File a chargeback if you can."

Situation: I ordered a custom suit from Lemonbrat in late 2018. With the understanding that the suit would be paid off 3 months prior to July, as I needed to suit to be finished and shipped in time for Eurofurence (leaving 12 August 2019). The terms of service changed somewhere in Febuary or March when I actually paid off the suit. Initial Deposit: https://images2.imgbox.com/3f/d1/LIZAfgSE_o.jpg Final Payment: https://images2.imgbox.com/89/8c/s9pQ3s2C_o.png Assurances on Finish Time: https://images2.imgbox.com/2a/50/9gHwLCC3_o.png They changed the refund policy from (cost of materials and labour will be taken from refund, and at our descretion) to (no payments are refundable) They changed there creation time from 2-3 months after complete payment, to 3-4 months for people who pay upfront. They also changed the deposit terms. I can't remember what the original percentage was, but it changed to 100% payment before construction. The person dealing with my suit told me that I was bound to the old TOS since I paid off the suit before the changes were made. From the time of being paid off I have had nothing but issues. Communication was extremely bad right from the start. I had to go out of my way to contact them every week or two to get any information. The suit was supposed to have started construction 3 months prior to July, and didn't start construction until the last few days of June. Giving them around 30 days to start a suit, a suit I had assumed they had already started. That was a shock. My fursuit head was made into a mouse head, it had to be completely redone. My tail was made short and curly, and I was told that it was exactly the same as my reference image. When I pointed out that it wasnt - and therefore not what I asked for, they said, "Oh, but this is right for your suit - trust us." I pressed again, that it was not what I asked for an they eventually redid it. To my horror, they had made it supersized to the point that it would need carried. Even though I asked them to keep it long and skinny, and anotomically correct. Several extras have been added to the suit (against my wishes) to try and compensate me because they realised they messed up. They added airbrushing, they're bumping up the shipping to Express International, and now they made a oversized tail (something I didn't pay for or want) They're completely designing the suit they way the *think* it should look and not what I asked for, and its more than just a "style" thing. Update: 08.03.19 The suit has been repaired, and is now en route to the client. The email confirming shipping is being withheld to protect the client's privacy. Update: 08.09.19 Hi there, quick update. The suit arrived, with the ears fixed. Not sure how they did it, as I assumed they weren't going to. The suit is snug and fits neatly, and although I am excited and happy to have it there were a few issues: Minor Issues: - No care instructions -No instructions on how to fit cushions into the digigrade legs properly or how to put on. (a lot of trial and error to get it right) Serious Issues: -The suit arrived with fur stuck in the zipper, and the zip had been driven over and beyond the jam (I managed to fix it with some gentle tugging to release the fur from the middle of the zip but it was really worrying) -The zip is extremely tempromental and sticks. It requires two people to suit up and out. Almost got stuck inside trying it on (wanted to make sure it fit because of the issues previous) -The tail is detachable, and attaches with a belt loop on the rear of the suit. (this is something that kind of gripes me as it breaks the magic, but there's not much I can do about it. They claim it was the 'only' way to fix the horrible bulge they had on the rear of the suit, and it's still there, it's just less noticeable. Other points -They included the repairs with the cost of fixing there mistakes. I asked them to put the value of the materials only on the customs form for cheaper import fees. They bumped the price up to 600$ I suspect they included the price of used materials for the repairs to their own mistakes, I didn't like this, but I shrugged it off, as I didn't want to argue with them anymore. (A few friends have expressed that they feel the price is a bit hefty but I have no knowledge of these things so please don't take my word as fact here) Overall, I'm happy with the suit, I still have a few gripes about it, and clearly it was a fight to get it "this good" and it's still not perfect. I'm not trying to be a 'nightmare' customer, I just expect professionalism from a "big name" in the fursuit making community. A suit arriving with fur jammed, and run over with a zipper, no care instructions, and no instructions on how to actually use the "large cushions" they provided to pad out the legs is a little sloppy in my oppinoun. And then there's the issues that was listed on my beware previously. I feel they only went so far with there repairs to save their own reputation, had I not made the beware and kept pressure on them to fix the mistakes I don't know what the suit would look like, they initially refused outright to do any further repairs after the head recarve. If they did bump up the price of the material cost, simply for shipping purposes as a payback for all the repairs they did, I find that a little petty. All in all, I've decided not to go to Lemonbrat for anything again, and a lot of people have given me there support on this without asking, saying they won't even buy things from there stalls anymore. I appreciate all the support the AB team and the people who read my posts and twitter have given me. And if you chose not support Lemonbrat, that is your choice, but I wouldn't blame you. Beware Written on September 11, 2019 Who: Ohmega Suit Studios/Ohm Protho/Ohmnog When: November 9 2017 - 2019 (Still ongoing) Where: ordered via Facebook messenger, other discussions via Twitter, Telegram, and via email What: A pair of all blue, no claws or pawpads: handpaws, feetpaws, and artwork- headshot Total amount: $231 -- most paid through friends and family Things to note: Ohm and I were friends at the time of the commission start, somewhere between it all we just fell through. Ohm will be referred to by they/them/theirs out of respect for their choice of pronouns. I understand the situation in which Ohm had injured their hand in 2017 and when they had to move out of their apartment in 2019 AZ due to AC and space issues. I understand there was a period of time where Ohm's messaging on almost all social media outlets was really glitched out and communication would be faltered. Hence why I decided to reach out to multiple at a time. I do not wish ill will towards them or their future, I really do wish and hope for Ohm to be successful in their endevours. Why: Failure to show updates of any kind, failure to keep client (myself) up to date, failure to provide a queue, communication issues, poor business practices. I would like to start off by saying, do not actively seek and harrass Ohm. This is an ordeal that is between the two of us, however, I am making this to make others aware of my situation and to warn others before possibly conducting business and/or trades. It has come to a point where I have to make this public in order to get some sort of confirmation, update and something set in stone from them. Back in 2017 I had just started really getting into the furry fandom. I had met Ohm online via Facebook and we started off being pretty good friends. I was so amazed to see their work and how much potential they had. I supported them in all of their work, progress images in art and suit making. I really looked up to Ohm and was so excited to have a new friend. Looking back at the screenshots, it seems as though I commissioned them for some artwork before we got to meet for the first time in person, also at my very first furcon. We talked about how our lives were and what we had planned for the future and I gifted them a very small badge. (I know the badge is irrelevant, but somewhere deep down I hope they still have it.) After meeting up with them at AZFC 2017 (just a few days prior Ohm had an accident where their hand got cut by their glass window.) I had saved up enough to be able to commission them for a set of feetpaws; specifically sockpaws. I had made my payments pretty quickly, all under friends and family because I knew I could trust them. I knew that they were my friend. (This was before I knew to always send payment for commissions in business PayPal.) I understood that I was going to be put at the bottom of the queue as there were others ahead of me. I wanted Ohm to feel comfortable knowing that I was going to be a reliable and understanding customer. If I remember correctly, a few people prior had either canceled commissions or asked for refunds from Ohm. I didn't want to cause anymore trouble or hassle than was needed. I do recall Ohm having trouble making ends meet for the apartment rent and even groceries a lot of times. I thought it might be helpful to add on to my order, handpaws, and to even buy artwork from them too, which were both added on at a later date. Throughout the whole process I did not have any knowledge of where I was on the queue, when my materials arrived, or when the sockpaws would even be started. The one time I did reach out to ask about it I was told that parts are not on the public queue because they would be done in-between bigger suit work. Ex: heads, bodysuits, etc. I was very patient and still hopeful, yet a bit weary at the lack of communication. Then there came a point where whenever I talked about my commissions I was ghosted. I would see Ohm's profile say "Online" and message them at those times, but never got responses. Then there came a point where what I wrote was not seen. I gave it some time, since I knew the IMs for Ohm was kinda glitchy, but then hours became days, days became weeks, and then months. Every chance I got to reach out to them it's always an, I'll get to you later. We can do it by x date. I'll be sure to get back to you. Deadlines came and went. Now here we are 3 years later I see commission after commission being completed. Heads, bodysuits, handpaws and feetpaws, many artworks, yet I have no idea where I am on the queue. I have absolutely no idea if my items have even been started since 2017. Now, I see Ohm opening up again for more commissions once more. I just want an honest answer, what happened to my order, to my items? I know now I won't be able to get my money back. As much as I don't want to admit it, I don't think I'll ever get my hands, feet, and art from them at all either. I know now that we're not friends anymore too. And it sucks that it had to end this way. I really wish the best for them, OhmegaSuitStudios can go far, but please Ohm, my once close friend, don't do this to anyone else. Don't let others wait for months, years even for a response on where they are on your queue. Leaving them wondering if you ever started on them. Making them feel like a burden to talk to you because the items have become the only thing to talk about. So that's why I wrote this beware. Be aware of what OhmegaSuitStudios, Ohmnog, Ohm Protho has done. I hope this never happens to anyone else. In January I had commissioned neoarcadianx for a reference sheet of my character, they had actually designed him originally and had just completed the design a few days before. currently this is a screenshot of the invoice, I received a refund in April after filing a dispute, then chargeback. over the weeks I poked them on discord multiple times, asking about the art, and keeping up with their Trello. i asked for a few changes over the weeks, some not being added to the Trello at all After getting only one sketch and no updates, and not really getting any information from the artist when asked, I decided to create a dispute through PayPal. It was not a chargeback, and the purpose of it was to simply try to talk it out as adults. At this time this was not yet a chargeback, but a dispute. After this was opened I received this as a response. In every conversation I had had with them, I was never told they had commissions from months before that they had not started, and they never updated me on their rl life or situation. They also were continually advertising that they were open on public discords, and taking commissions while others had theirs put aside and ignored. Including my own. After the explosive response I escalated the dispute for a chargeback, and received a refund from PayPal.

When & Explanation: Commission was excepted by the artist on Nov 20th, 2011 she noted me the price would be 68.00 in all and to expect work to be finished by mid December to early January. I then sent the artist the amount requested by PayPal that day. After December and January passed I waited two more months and the first note on April 6, 2011 asking for an update, no reply was received, I again sent a note on April 16 and still no reply. On April 30th the artist made a journal saying she was going to start refunding all commissions, on May 6th artist uses excuse of surcharges from 3 citations has pushed back refunds. On Jun 29th I gave the artist a deadline to refund the commission and the next day she finally responds saying she would refund then proceeds to lecture me. A full month goes by and I check in again on the 1st of April and she claims she couldn't work on it since she just got the internet back, but she'll be finishing it that week. Mid April she claims to have my commission done. Nothing. She then starts to say its her medication that she can't draw, along with artist block. At the end of April I finally get a WIP and it'll be done that night. After that she starts working on "other projects" including a comic and something to do with voice acting, so again, commissions are delayed. Almost the entire month of May goes by and not a word. The 20th rolls around and still "almost finished" and she's "working on it now" 4 days later and she "loses all her recent progress" because her program crashed and she didn't save. On the 8th of this month she says she's working on it again. Here we are week days later and she's been doing $1 stream sketches, working on animated icons and I'm still waiting. I'm a pretty patient guy, but over 4 months for a $15 dollar sketch? Yeah I'm getting pretty fed up. It sounds like its a case of taking too much on at once. If she didn't handle commissions like this I'd commission her more. RESOLVED!: I received both a refund and the art commissioned!

Artist was commissioned in late October. I didn't bug them about the commission until months had already passed. Bugged them 2 or 3 more times between December 2011 and May of this year. One of my emails even went ignored completely (probably because they were getting hounded by so many disgruntled commissioners). May 12th, 2012 I requested a refund. The email was read but never replied to. I then sent another email asking for a refund, this time with more "srs bzns" verbiage. I was told I would have to wait until Friday May 18th and will receive only a partial refund because the sketch had already been done. It is now 3 days after the 18th and my Paypal account is still at $0. Aluminum, if you're reading this... May. 19th, 2012 at 1:00 PM mmyesidosay EDIT: As of this morning Vella has issued me a refund and what I feel to be a sincere apology. I'd like this to be marked resolved, and if she comes across the drawings in the recovery of her PC, I'm more than happy to pay for them then. :) EDITEDIT: Vella was able to find my two drawings and send them along my way. I returned her refund, as they look fantastic, and again, she was very pleasant. I've been a bit iffy about posting this for several days now, but my jimmies are rustled, and not quite sure how to proceed. I feel bad about doing this, as I KNOW the artist has been going through rough times, so I apologize, I've just no idea whats going on with my commissions, and repeated attempts to find out have been ignored. WHO: VellaCRaptor WHERE: http://vellacraptor.deviantart.com/ and http://vellacraptor.livejournal.com/ are the accounts I was able to get in contact with her through. WHAT: Two small portrait commissions totally $4 I believe, offered via TeenyCom (http://teenycom.livejournal.com/1063202.html) WHEN: Ongoing since early October of last year. PROOF: Initial transaction made in the comments of her TeenyCom post. I'd been having issues with PayPal, so asked for confirmation via notes to be sure she got my payment. When she did not respond, I asked again, and was finally sure it had cleared into her account. EXPLAIN: When Vella offered small commissions to be done in between her larger ones, I fully expected a wait, and was completely okay with that. Her art is adorable, and I was so excited~ But as the months ticked by with no word at all, I decided to dredge up the post and see if anyone else had gotten their art. A few here and there had, but took me a bit to actually find out what the issue had been. Okie Dokie, seems her computer crashed. Bad things like that happen, I wasn't at all upset, though I had wished she had told us that there would be some form of delay or issue. Vella gets an Artists_Beware post sometime after this I believe, where she states that she rarely checks LiveJournal anymore. It was now early April, and I still haven't heard word, so I shoot her a note via FurAffinity, which goes unread: Normally I would have waited a bit longer before trying again, but hadn't heard from her in so long, I figured I'd go ahead and shoot her an email as well, my reasoning being that if she had stopped checking FA as well, I'd be silly for me to try that as my only means of communication. And again, my email goes unanswered: I sit around for a few weeks, before finally realizing she has a DeviantArt. I shoot her a note, and finally, a response! Just.. telling me that yes, she'll still do them. I'm missing a note where I get excited and thank her for her response, but after several days of nothing once again, I ask for a possible date she might be finished with them. And once more, this note goes unread. (please remember to read DA notes bottom to top!): Aaaaaaaand then nothing. I can see her popping on and off DA multiple times a day, so to be ignored feels pretty bad. Finally, I decide that $4 isn't worth this sort of aggravation, and ask for a refund. It gets read, but no response. I send another note, and I apologize to both AB and the artist if I got snippy, I've never been in a situation like this before, and was getting pretty fed up with the lack of communication. As soon as I send this one, I get a response, with nothing more than 'I thought you already got yours'. Okay, maybe I was a dick and had. I go back and check all y accounts, and nope, no response from her in any of them. I tell her this, and as of today (May 19th), my note has still been unread. I'm at a loss. If my art has already been completed, then fantastic! Im okay with delays, Im just so frustrated with not having any idea whats going on. The only way I found out there was a problem at all was by drudging through her conversations with other commissioners in that TeenyCom post. I know shes been having issues IRL, but just a quick note to acknowledge that she at least remembers I'm on some list somewhere would have been fantastic. After seeing Vella's last A_B post, I had really hoped things would get better, it's been well past PayPal's refund date, so Im at a loss. Thanks all for your time and any suggestions!
