I'm usually extremely hesitant to do art trades with anyone, since i've been ripped off multiple times. I've done two art trades with Neko and each time was amazing. She is great at keeping me updated on the status of the artwork, very polite, and does an overall great job handling commissions in general. Two of the artworks I received can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6420183/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6376380/ The art is just exceptional and I always want to go back for more! houndofloki Oct. 1st, 2011 02:52 pm (local) 1. She was fantastic about the sudden change, making a slight mod to one of the figures, and swapping out eye colours. I would seriously, without hesitation, recommend folks throw money at her to make pretty pictures. circlingfreedom Oct. 1st, 2011 07:07 pm (local) 1. WolfyT 2. http://wolfy-t.deviantart.com/ 3. A lot over the past two years. 4. I think the shortest time I've had to wait is about 30 mins, to the longest being 2 days (and that was full colour bg piece.) Her prices are great. Right now she's having a Halloween sale starting from $1. In fact I love WolfyT so much I wrote her an ode, that's how impressed I am with her. See, I've been a Patrick Nagel fan since like, the early 80's (yeah, I'm that old ? ), and I had to have one of these badges! Between the time of inquiry to time of completion was mere days, and I totally love the badge (which I'm also using for my icon, BTW). Badge can be seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6493903 Thornwolf is a delight to work with and will definitely commission her again. spiffystuff Oct. 1st, 2011 09:45 pm (local) Yus, seconding thornwolf! Mary Mouse 2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/marymouse (among other places) 3. Midwest FurFest 2006 4. I commissioned a conbadge from her. She had it finished and I was able to catch up with her to pay and collect it the next day. The artwork was awesome and I continue to use that image as one of my avatars to this day. The only disappointment was that the hole punch for the badge holder was through part of the headfur. Later I scanned the badge and sent her a courtesy copy (as I try to do with all badges and artwork I commission, though it sometimes it takes me a while to get access to a scanner). She sent it back to me less than a day later, with the hole punch repaired in the virtual copy, and with the colors brightened as well. You can't tell it was there! poizenkat Oct. 2nd, 2011 10:19 am (local) Oh yes! For an idea of her work, here is the picture that I had purchased on September 18th: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6593140/ And here is the one that I had purchased on October 8th (there is a mistake in the secondary coloration of the dragon character but that is my own fault not hers, as I had forgotten to give her the reference of the character, believing she may have remembered from a picture I had commissioned from her before that): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6666048/ If you are looking for an artist who is fair in her prices and has good turnaround time, Kayla-Na/MeltheHybrid (the latter here on A_B) is an artist I highly recommend. latiro Oct. 22nd, 2011 04:47 pm (local) Hoot/Dictator 1. 2. Oct. 1st, 2011 at 1:29 AM marblestheskunk WHO: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/timitei/ WHERE: Furaffinity and LJ WHAT: A digital ref sheet WHEN: July PROOF: In explanation Well I saw Timitei's post in teeny com here: http://teenycom.livejournal.com/970882.html I followed it to their FA and commissioned them for 2 ref sheets, one of them was done in a timely mater but I still have yet to recieve the second one. I sent them the commission info in a journal which has since been deleted but here is a screenshot of when she said that she had lost my commission info and needed it again: She then did my ref sheet but still had not done the other one. She then deleted the journal with the info, and I guess forgot about my note describing the raccoon so I reminded her and gave her another description Time went by and she still has not done it, nor has she responded to ANY of my notes I've been sending her asking for my money back, they say on FA they are unread, here is the most recent one: She also posted this on august 31st, but has had a submission since then: This journal was put up out of the blue with no explanation of when she will be completing my commission, its only $5 but I still want a refund and feel that it is wrong and that shes probably doing this to others aswell, seeing the comments on teenycom.
  3. Sep. 30th, 2011 at 6:51 AM coobiee Aye, hello there. I'm relatively new to all of this, including LJ, so please forgive me for any mistakes. I'm not really doing this for myself, but more for everyone who is still waiting and anyone who ever goes to do business with her. While her art is absolutely fantastic her business manners and time for getting things done is absolutely terrible. Though she is usually pretty good with giving refunds if you ask for them. WHO: Galagya, http://siedend.deviantart.com/ , http://galagya.deviantart.com/ WHERE: wolfhome forums/serenityisles forums WHAT: premade poses for the chats WHEN: September 9th of last year. PROOF: Since it's been so long I can no longer grab proof of me sending the payment for them also I didn't pay with paypal I paid with the chat's currency which is deltas. Although I did earn those through commissions so I guess it still counts? Here's the topic where everything is even all the screenshots are taken from there. EXPLAIN: September of last year she had posted a topic on Serenity which contained a presale of a premade wolf set she was working on. It was $25 Paypal/50 Deltas to preorder them all so I sent out the deltas for all of them because I'm a really big fan of her artwork. When she posted said topic there was a little preview of them already and she stated that they were just WIPs for now but she was getting close to being done with some of them. (screenshot) So I figured okay then it shouldn't be too long for them to be completely finished. Well that's where I and many people were wrong. March of this year she finally comments on her topic after not giving any of us any updates at all apologizing for not posting in so long and saying she had redone the poses. She asked us if we wanted to see them so far or if we wanted to wait and most people said they'd like to see a little sneak peak of the new ones. (screenshot) Well that never happened. More and more time went by with no more updates or even a preview of the newley redone poses. So someone finally sent her a PM on the forums asking for an updated and apparently she replied with this. That was on June 11th of this year. More time went buy and in August someone posted a comment saying they were keeping an eye on a topic she made over on wolfhome forums with premade sets. I decided I'd take a look into and to my surprise she had started another premade set without even finishing the one she started over on Serenity. (screenshot) On Augst 28th someone had posted what Galagya had said through a PM on a different forum. (screenshot) Later on that day the same person gave us an update for the 20th of August saying Galagya was going through a move and her family was visiting her. They also said that she was busy with making her own chat instead of working on all this owed artwork that people have already paid for. (screenshot) I figured that's okay, real life things pop up and can't be avoided so I just went about my way. On September 23rd, it had already been over a year since myself and many others paid for these poses, I seen on wolfhome forums that they were finally all moved into their new place and even had internet. I also seen a topic Galagya herself posted on wolfhome forums August 31st. Which can be seen here. More time passed and still nothing. Now back in April she made a topic on wolfhome forums selling puppies which people had to buy and then in a few weeks they were suppose to get the completed refs of the adult versions of those. By this time those people that had paid for those were starting to get a bit frustrated. Which I can understand, but that's a whole different story really. Lets just say out of all 10 of those people who paid $20.00 for a puppy have yet to see a single ref finished. Not even so much as a sketch. Anyways it's now September 30th she still hasn't completed the premade set. Not to mention she owes quiet a few peple things they've already paid for, but that isn't for me to get into. Many people have sent her emails and PMs reminding her about them and asking her about them and still nothing. No updates, no previews, no nothing. Now like I said she's generally good about refunds if you ask her for one, but sometimes she gets an attitude about it. No I don't have proof, just past experiences. This isn't really anything new for her since she's been this way for a really long time from what I've noticed. About a year or two back there were people who had been waiting 3 years for a commission. I'm not sure how that is now though I'm pretty sure she refunded everyone or something. But yeah if you ever go to commission her just beware of how long it could possibly take her and don't expect updates. She gives little to no updates. Her art is wonderful, but the wait and no updates isn't.

A few months pass, and I remind him... then a few more pass, I remind him Again. He gives me the "I cancelled it" thing (as seen on one of my other reports) and tells me I'll finish it. I then see he opens more commisions and trades. His EX actually tried to do his half FOR him, as an offer. I declined, and She threatened me thinking that I was insulting her. She said "I will make it hell for you" You can see this part here: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s195/pharokit2/Alex5.png NOW I MUST SAY: ALEX (as far as was explained) did NOT put his Ex up to this. 5. As a note, in the end I am getting the item she made. However the entire ordeal of two and half / three years of stress regarding this commission really has pushed me to write this, especially since she's looking to expand her client base. I absolutely hate writing negative reviews about people, but I honestly am under the impression if you're operating as a business (taking money for goods/services), you need to also provide good follow-through, reputation, and customer service. WHEN she did reply, I will give that she was always very polite in dealing with me. I had planned on writing this for a very long time, and then debated it when it appeared I may be getting my item. I lucked out in getting my item. I'm not sure why, but I am grateful for that. Artist: Aurasoul http://www.furaffinity.net/user/aurasoul/ (active) http://aurasoul.deviantart.com/ (she got herself banned) My Issues My fiance ordered a plush in Fall of 2008 for a Christmas gift for the sum of $90. Basically we were strung along, yelled at, ignored for months. When concerns of whether or not she had the time to complete or would like to refund us partial (minus the parts already used), we were ignored. Basically every note was ignored for months at a time which lead us to be very concerned about whether or not this was going to be completed or not. The screenshots below also include a few conversations with Ratchet, her boyfriend/husband. Since he had been helpful in getting a refund with another person on AB, it seemed like a good idea to contact him if he was more likely to respond. As a note, Ty and I have no problems being patient. As we told both Aurasoul and Ratchet countless times, but we do request communication every half a year or so. (We rarely got that). Again. We got our item in the long run, but I would strongly encourage people who want to commission this particular artist to never pay full up front -- and be aware that communication issues will be a very big factor. My complaints will be under the cut. This is a very long dated issue Disclaimer Please feel free to commission Aurasoul or have dealings with Ratchet at your own risk. I know I would not deal with the pair again. Communication issues with Aurasoul is one big problem, but the other is Ratchet's attitude in the end as well. I understand that Ratchet may had been put in the middle of this, and realize that it may be stressful him, but this is also a product of Aurasoul's inability to communicate with her commissioners. I was NOT the first to turn to Ratchet in hopes of getting help. I understand his point of view in "not being her keeper (something he said before), however if I did the same thing, I'd expect my boyfriend/husband to give me a sharp poke to get my butt moving if I were slacking on these issues. Also, there may be some notes I've lost in the course of 2-3 years. I tried to be as thorough as possible. I cleaned out my FA box due to the FA hack leak about a year ago and I think I've mistakenly deleted somethings I had intended to keep. I tried to keep every single response from both my side and their's. --------------- NOTE: For the first YEAR of this ordeal, I was not involved. The notes I have are after I got involved when I felt that Ty was getting scammed and was out nearly $100. That right there pissed me off to no small degree. In fall of 2009 is when I got involved in this on behalf of Ty. In summer of 2011 we saw the an upload of the final item completed (and item was given to someone in EF con to deliver to us in the states. ) ----------------------------- In late October / early November of 2008 my fiance commissioned Aurasoul for a Christmas gift for me. He did pay the full amount up front. He was told at the time that the item would be completed by Christmas of 2008. When the time come and gone, Ty had spoke with her in regards to what was going on when January rolled around, he was told that she had school going on and that delayed her -- as well as still gathering materials for the item. Being the patient type, Ty sat on it. He sat on it more, checking in every 3-4 months for a progress report. Rarely did he get an answer. At this point, we had gotten little communication, no item, no progress report and Ty so far was out $90. Ty had faith in Aurasoul. Mine had started to wane when I was reading numerous complaints and witnessing problems ongoing in real time through Artist Beware and other channels, such as the banning of her DA account. Again, any limited time Ty got a response, it was an excuse. No confirmation of anything. No item. No progress. Communication was like pulling teeth. Due to she being in Germany, we assumed that maybe she was not as well versed with English as many of our other German friends.. So we often simplified the conversation so it would be better converted in translators if she happened to use those. ---- It was after the year mark had nearly rolled around in 2009 that I got involved. After seeing nothing other than Ty's money being taken, I decided it was time to get involved. I first and foremost contacted Aurasoul asking for her to reach out to Ty to get in touch with him. We did not try to reverse action Paypal at this time, because we honestly wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt despite negative reviews and give her a chance to complete the item. In the beginning she was very willing to respond. She had even claimed he had photos for us! It quickly declined from there, however. Some Screenshots: So after the one promise of seeing progress reports, she had dropped off the face of the planet again, despite her account being active favoriting and commenting on art / responding to people in general. All the while, I was watching my notes being a mix of being read and unread status in her account. It was clear my notes were being avoided. Again, as we stated in the notes, we did not mind being patient but do require communication and some effort to give us progress. If you say check back in X time, that's what we'll do and not a moment before. However if you blindly ignore us while clearly being active, it paints a very drastic picture. It is what prompted the following screenshot. --------------- Fast forward to the year 2010! It was at this point there were numerous negative posts about Aurasoul being posted up in various more spots and it was getting scary. Some were saying how she would outright destroy the item. A few claimed they got resolution through her boyfriend/husband, Ratchet ( http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ratchet ). I had high hopes with this option, because at this point we were worried we were getting strung along and the best option would be a refund since we never got progress photos. At first, Ratchet was helpful, and then he turned rude - my guess in frustration with many other people who had commissioned Aurasoul contacting him as well. I do not know this to be the case firmly, but I do know I was not the only one worried about a commission. I had very limited conversations with Ratchet. Color us shocked. Here was progress and Aurasoul didn't bother to even notify us. Not one bit. We were happy to see the progress shots, don't get us wrong. We had waited a very long time for this. Again this really speaks for her customer service / organization. She didn't notify us that we had WIPs to view. She didn't respond to our notes in a timely fashion. However, we were happy. This what we wanted. By this time we were really happy. Here was news that it was finished and ready to be shipped. We promptly supplied the shipping information and then waited. And waited some more. And contacted our friend who had not gotten the item and waited some more. Friend contacted me to see if anything was heard. We waited more. Eventually we just waited to hear back from Aurasoul. We hadn't. We saw she was being active so it prompted us to write more notes. Many of which went unanswered. I hate doing it, but I DID leave a shout on her page to get in touch with me (it was promptly deleted). We supplied mailing information (for the second or third time) on January 21st, 2011. I had waited in sending it again because I wanted to make sure my friend would still be willing to be a middle man in this situation. We waited some more! By this time I was concerned. Seeing how Ratchet had been helpful in the past in prompting Aura to respond, since it had been so many months, I decided to give him a shot again. I was taken aback by how just down right rude he was. Unfortunately in my clutter of notes I do not see my original first note to him regarding asking for progress on behalf of Aurasoul. I only have his reply after this one. So we're back to waiting again. No direct communication with AuraSoul through this whole ordeal. Frankly it angered me a good bit to have him snap when I see both of them active, commissioning art, and neglecting their own commissioners. This is hindsight I suppose. I was a little confused to see that Ratchet was saying the item wasn't completed at this time, but it was hinted/ready to be shipped by earlier comments/notes from Aurasoul. Somewhere down the road I thought to contact her again. After all, 3-4 months in between notes isn't too short of a time I'd hope. Especially since the last WIP was over half a year ago. Correction. About half a year ago when she said she was SHIPPING it. After that last one, I decided to wait a bit again. Like before, it was waiting and my friend waiting and nothing coming of it. Once again I started noticing her being very active on FA, but not taking the time to read/respond to anything. The next screenshot had information pertaining again to my contact's address. I've blurred it out for privacy's sake but the meat of what was said is there. Despite me having sent the address numerous times before, I was requested again to send it. Again no final photos of a finished product, but just the idea of getting it and getting this ordeal over was a blessing. The last few conversations were of me confirming with my contact about it not arriving, and bringing it to Aurasoul's attention. She said it was still there and had not had time to ship it. At this point we had not seen any photos of the final product. I was not contacted directly, and would have missed the uploads (as I had when she originally uploaded WIPs) if I weren't watching her on FA. Holy cow there it was completed.. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6346025 http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6346032 Creatively since EF Con was right around the corner, to save on shipping fiascos (as one unfortunate person in Artist Beware had dealt with) I asked if she was going and could drop it off to my contact directly. While Aurasoul wasn't going, she had a friend who was. It was agreed (and this can be seen on conversations/replies in the actual finished product) that it'd be dropped to my contact. TL;DR Version I finally am getting my product and it looks good from what I can see in the photos. My contact is bringing it to me when we meet up at a US con. While Aurasoul has been very polite in her responses to me, her responses in general are like pulling teeth. She is not timely or professional in this manner. I do not recommend anyone paying full price for anything up front. Ordeal has taken place over the course of Fall of 2008 to Summer of 2011 to get sorted. I'm probably missing things. I tried to keep this as short, but as thorough, as possible. (Yes I could have written more believe it or not!)
  6. Sep. 22nd, 2011 at 10:54 PM scenceable I guess this post is mostly a warning against dealing with this person. However, if there's anything you can suggest that I can do at this point, I'd love to hear it! ? Who Kate Sjoberg, AmandaKathryn (Deviantart and ebay), RedWyvrenStudio (Etsy) Where Ongoing through ebay, etsy, and deviantart What Well she sells unicorn sculptures that run $100+, but my issue is regarding other parts of the transaction. I'm just going to copy paste what I wrote in my own journal. I've never posted in this community before so I apologize if I leave out any information. I'm not really sure what to do with this. The seller here is an artist who I've been a fan of for ages. (Kate Sjoberg, AmandaKathryn, RedWyvrenStudio) I bought a fairy from her in 2006, and then bought a few unicorns, and commissioned a pegasus at the end of 2008. With the commission, I found her communication a bit shaky, like she wouldn't respond to messages every time and that type of thing. My first issue was a mermaid I bought from her in early 2009, she started the bidding low and the auction ended low. She charged me $35 for shipping, and it ended up only costing $12. I messaged her 4 times over a few weeks to get the money back to no response, and after weeks (I guess after that 4th message) finally I go to paypal and see she has refunded me $14. No paypal note, no reply to my messages, no apology. And the difference in shipping was a decent chunk more than $14, but at least I got some back. So I didn't press the issue, and left positive feedback anyway. Now ship overcharges piss me off in general so after that I didn't buy from her for almost 2 years. (I should add, money and falling out of collecting contributed to this as well) Then in Novemeber 2010 I bought two large unicorns, one was $135 and one was $125. The description on all her auctions says the items come with a COA (certificate of authenticity) and they didn't. Also, one of the unicorn's bases was broken. I contacted her through etsy about the break and the COAs. At first she had great contact. And then... nothing. However, against my better judgement, I bought a unicorn in February 2011 from her, which was sold with a "new version" of her unicorn tutorial. Here's our entire conversation through etsy. So, I would like to point out here a few things. First of all, I never got a refund or any sort of money back due to the broken item. She never looked into the claim or got back to me on that (look at the dates on the messages) and I ended up fixing the base at cost to me. The pegs are really expensive and hard to find and I used my own. I would also like to point out that she doesn't apologize at all about an item arriving broken. A few others things... she didn't tell me beforehand that the COAs would be sent separately- I had to ask. The description says they come with COAs. Also, again, she never mentions before I pay that the tutorial would be shipped separately or that it would take time to complete. I knew that info through DeviantArt comments only. Also regarding her last message to me- the COAs were NOT in the box with Dream. I never got them. After messaging her on etsy and getting no response I gave up. I hate chasing people and figured, whatever, let it go, just don't buy from her again. But it bothers me to this day every time I think about it. It's to a point where I want to sell them because I can't enjoy them properly due to these issues. The two unicorns I need COAs for I bought in November 2010. The unicorn that was supposed to come with a new version of the tutorial was purchased in February 2011. So recently, as in the end of August 2011, she posted on DA and I commented about something else and she responded. So I figured hey, she's around, I'm going to send her a note. Why not, might as well mend things if I can. Here are those. The following are messages through DeviantArt's note system So, I realize the tone in my first DA message was quite different from that last one. But that's it. Not only am I done with buying items from her, I am spreading this to others too. Again, I would like to point out that in the message I got from her in August, she did not apologize ONCE for a huge issue that is absolutely her fault. The thing is, they're PAPER. To appease me all she had to do was print two pieces of paper, sign them, slap the old tutorial on a disc, toss all 3 in an envelope and send them out! There is nothing hard about that. Ignoring messages and failing to do something so simple for your customers really just illustrates how little you care. And on a more personal note... I would also like to mention, because for those not familiar with the artist I think it's important- they're not cheap. I have 8 pieces by her that were $100-$200 each. (Sorry! I put this bit in for my LJ friends, I don't mean to mply that her work is overpriced or anything like that!)COAs and such might not seem like a big deal, but if I want to resell them at any point they're not worth much without the COA. As for the tutorial, she charges $13 for the old version and the price for the unicorn I got was started higher because it came with a tutorial. So I bought it largely because of the tutorial. So in many ways it's not that big a deal, not like never receiving an entire sculpture. However, in principal, I didn't receive what the description stated. In the end, I'm leaving this transaction feeling taken advantage of... it doesn't matter what business you're in, that's never something you want to do to your customers. ? If anyone has any advice on what to do, I'm all ears. At this point, I'm moving on and never dealing with this person again. It's really unfortunate that things have come to this because I'm honestly a big fan of her work.
  7. This was originally denied to A_B because the artist gave me extra art when I did not ask for it. I feel this should be posted here because Leelee has made me wait for a year w/o any responses to my e-mails or notes when she disappeared on FA, also the fact that when I DID get in contact w/ her I had to ask MORE THAN ONCE for a responce... At this point I STILL do not have my half of a trade and am re-submitting this.. Who: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/LeeLee/ leeleemoreau Where: FA / LJ What: Digital Art trade When: Well over a year ago. http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000c5x8 (My half started on May 30, 2010) Proof: Long ago when I was active on a collection community I was inquired by Leelee about doing a digital trade. Unfortunately that thread where we worked out the details has been LONG lost. We agreed, passed info between us via LJ PM's but those have been purged as well a loooong time ago. Before I realized NOT to delete information until a transaction is complete. I do admit I dropped the ball for deleting those. My half was completed a long time ago, well before I even saw a sketch of hers. I do admit I took a while before I got to it, but I decided to hold off on sending it to her till I saw some form of her half. She posted it http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4027253, and for the longest time that was the last that I heard from her. She seemed to have fallen off the face of the internet for a while, and I can admit I honestly forgot until I randomly posted on the submission. I've also sent e-mails before that were never answered. I also didn't keep up w/ her journals on FA either. My fault again I suppose.. Finally getting some contact from her we have talked it out, apparently her computer was broken and sent off or something, to where she didn't have the file on hand. So she claimed she was going to finish it when it's returned. So I'm waiting on her to color it I guess. She did however draw me a lovely little extra for my wait. (Which I will admit I flipped out a bit because I thought she was trying to give this to me instead of our agreed trade) But I still mark this as beware for her random absence and lack of communication and ignoring when inquiring about said trade. I apologize for the lack of initial communication between us. I just hope the facts given are enough. Update: I have just asked if she would just color the smaller image she posted on FA because I am at this point tired of waiting. She’s cranking out art right now so I don’t see why she can’t color it too. Even if she does color it I stil think this beware is valid enough to be posted. Update2: After she decided to ignore my question on the submission I noticed her faving and comminting elseware. She ignored me again. So I decided to wait till morning and note her. My note to Leelee and her response. http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000fhs0 Thanks for being mature Leelee, once again appreciated.. Still no straight answer if she's gonna do it or not. Update3: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6547634/ I still don't understand why she keeps mentioning the 'make up' art as if I should have accsepted that instead of what we agreed on. Or maybe I'm just missunderstanding her or something... IDK Update4: Talked it out w/ Leelee and she thuroughly aplogized. The 'make up' art was also a missunderstanding on my part. I guess I made it unclear about that being a replacement. Everything is cool and there is no hard feelings. Anyway this is resolved.

I know it's "just" an art trade, but time is money and we had an agreement. I demanded that he either finish it or pay me back, but he does not have enough money to do so? I charge only $6 for two character sketches. he has sent me this note in reply after deleting all his journals. "I can do your trade I guess ? But it will have to be after I finish all my commissions I owe. I am really sorry. I forgot about it until you reminded me and I no longer have the notes or journals of what you wanted done. Here is my current list: http://tinyurl.com/3u4s8r7" but i dont know when he would ever finish it or IF he would ever finish it. It's been quite some time now and he's changing his story now so i am a bit confused as to what's going on. Edit: he ended up completing it after giving me quite a bit of trouble. I dont see what the problem was, especially if he couldve had it done so fast. http://www.iaza.com/work/110909C/iaza15286097663900.jpg

  10. Sep. 7th, 2011 at 12:13 AM tijgerhuis This isn't a Beware as much as it is calling attention to blatant ignoring of a paying customer. Papaya's an amazing artist, don't get me wrong, and a really nice person. I'd just like this situation resolved, after six months of waiting, four months lacking of any communication whatsoever outside of short conversations at conventions, and recently, outright disregarding any messages at all. You guys have probably seen her around. http://furaffinity.net/user/papayafruitsushi I'd hate to give the wrong impression here. Again, all I'm hoping to do with this is bring attention to the situation, get some input, and get it resolved easily. Back in February, Papaya posted an FWA thread for badge commissions, and I jumped onboard right away (I'm Toraie). After the conversation there, I sent a PM through FA detailing the character, commission, etc., which was replied to promptly. I wasn't able to pay until the week after, and I let her know. After she claims here to have sketches, I go ahead and pay right away. FWA comes and goes, and I don't get a chance to talk to her, but having to deal with college and many other things, I don't get in touch again until right before ESG (bottom email), where I only hear from her that she's left all commissions back at home, and that she'd try to find them before too long. At this point, having waited a good three months since I paid, I barely want it anymore. Sometime in June (top email), I remind her through email, because she'd explicitly stated all contact was to be through email and not FA notes. No reply. And then it's time for Megaplex. I caught her for a few moments there, and Papaya told me it was in her room, and that she'd get it to me before I left. I left without hearing anything from her, though. A few days after that (per her journal saying she was busy and needed a few days), I send another email (bottom) giving a day that I'd like a reply by. I've already paid, so I really should be able to do this. No reply. The following week, another one (top email). Nothing. All I'm seeing are journals saying she'll be in touch with commissioners soon. And finally, I leave a shout on her page asking if she still uses that email for business. It's a fair question, but it got shoved off before it got replied to, and then others' commissions start getting posted. I can understand slowly working through commissions, but failing to answer simple questions like in my emails is unprofessional. I'd like to emphasize the absolute lack of communication here - surely, if you've got the time to post a commission, much less be working on it, you have the time to fire off a quick yes/no email. It's not about the money here, though I would like it back rather than having the commission finished. I'm just leaving a public notice here, because private communication sure isn't getting the job done.

Details: I had been interested in one of her "chibi" drawings for awhile but she was closed, so she asked me if I wanted to be waitlisted. She contacted me a month later and asked if I was still interested, so she said I only had to pay once a sketch was completed (and by sketch, her sketches look like a finished piece, wow!). My anniversary with my boyfriend was in a week and I asked her if it was at all possible for her to finish it before then, that I'd happily pay extra for the rush. She said it was not necessary (I did anyways, cuz..yeah that's like NO notice) and that she could complete it in time. Not only did she complete it in time but she did an EXCELLENT job and I'm very happy with the outcome: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6335925 celestinaketzia Sep. 1st, 2011 10:23 am (local) Artist - Amalara 1. She was very understanding and even let me buy it for $20 instead of $25 since I had inquired to her about one before she even started selling custom tags publicly so I was super grateful for that. She finished it in no time, sent me the badge file, a high res file of my character only, and an icon file. That was so freaking nice of her to do that! ❤️ Not done. She asked for my mailing address and I gave it to her and she shipped out my tag the next day. Once I got it in the mail, I was surprised to see that not only was there a tag, but ANOTHER COPY as well, and they both were laminated and had clips! AND, and there is another and, she included the original paper sketch as well! I was so speechless and happy that I got so many nice things from her. That was a great deal. If I had money to give her for true commissions I would (I actually got her a gift over the weekend as a thanks, and we doodle each others' fursonas all the time). She's pretty fast with her art and does an excellent job; she's extremely pleasant to work with and tends to be casual with communication but still keeps it professional. She's also recently started taking more furry commissions through FA but I'm not sure if she'd want me to post the account publicly (she wants to keep her DA and FA accounts separate for personal reasons) so I'd be more than happy to link it to anyone who's interested via PM. It is nearing three months since this date, and I have received NO updates on progress, NO messages, nothing. So on Monday I asked for either progress updates or a refund, and they said that they would complete mine AFTER they finished their new Christmas YCHs (which were ordered 3 weeks ago). I said "So.. you're doing the Christmas ones first, before the one I paid for three months ago?" Just to clarify, and they confirmed. So I said "I think I'd just rather have the refund then." I bought a commission after asking if the character would be doable, she said it was fine. Over the next year or so I asked for updates multiple times, she assured me she would get to it, but never offered anything as an update, over that period of time she had drawn hundreds of pieces of personal art, and had also opened up commissions again several times, always claiming it was from a bank problem. Now if it was something huge like a poster or animation that I paid for I could understand the wait, but I can't believe she would be so busy she can't do a sketch over a period of a year and 2 months. I had asked some people familiar with her work about it in private, and had been told this is something she does very often, only prioritizing things involving her characters and putting off everything else indefinitely. She doesn't seem like an inherently bad person to me, but going off of this her work ethic is horrendous, I would advise against commissioning anything from her unless you want to wait a very long time. They also changed their usernames various times throughout the course of this interaction, so screenshots may not match up exactly with what I've written. ( Read more... ) July 15 - I commissioned the user hitchedboy on the petsite Flight Rising for a 2-character digital painting, which was paid for using site currency in the form of items. [1] Payment was sent using Flight Rising's 2-way trade system. Weeks passed without word, and their FR profile indicated that they hadn't logged in to FR at all since a few days after I last heard from them. With this avenue of communication closed, I started seeking an alternate way to contact them, and found their Instagram account (which was also under the username hitchedboy at the time. The link on their profile led to a DeviantArt name of jaoqy.) August 27th - I messaged hitchedboy on Instagram to inquire about a turnaround time for my commission. They said they had lost their FR login info but were still willing to do the art for me. They informed me that their preferred method of contact was Discord. [2] August 28th - Our correspondence moved to Discord. I provided them with the commission info again since they stated they lost access to their FR account. I was told that I could check in with them "as much as I wanted" and that my art would be finished in "most likely only a week." [3] September 5th - A week later, I asked to see a sketch. hitchedboy said they weren't at their computer and would send it to me in 2-3 hours. I gave them an extra 4 hours before poking them again. They told me to message them again to remind them in 5 hours; I did so and received no response at all. (Time discrepancy in their message is due to hitchedboy being in the GMT+10 timezone and myself in GMT-5.) Though I was irritated at being brushed off, I decided to give them some time. [4] September 22nd - Life got in the way and I wasn't able to touch base with hitchedboy before this date. I told them the reason for my delay; they responded with a situation curiously similar to mine, and informed me they had completed the base colors on the art. I had not seen so much as a sketch from hitchedboy at this point, despite being promised one several times over. I felt uneasy and asked them to show me the art at its current stage for approval before progressing - again, my message was ignored. [5] September 29th - I logged into Discord, saw that hitchedboy was online, and shot them a message. They immediately switched their status to "offline." (I don't have a screenshot of this, sadly.) In response to this action, I asked them to just let me know if they no longer wanted to do the commission, as I needed it by a certain date and this would give me enough time to find a replacement artist. They assured me that they still fully intended to finish the art, citing extreme forgetfulness as an excuse for blowing me off in the past. They once again set a bizarrely unrealistic time frame - this time just 10 minutes - in which I should expect to see the art. At this point, I was severely doubting that any work had been completed at all, and sent a bit of a lengthy message expressing my frustration about being given the runaround time and again. An hour later, hitchedboy sent me a progress photo. This honestly surprised me, given that I'd been convinced that they hadn't even started, and the completion level seemed to me to be more than could be done in an hour. I informed them of corrections that needed to be made, making sure to be thorough since I didn't know if I would even get a chance to see another WIP before the picture was finished. [6] October 3rd-5th - I ensured that hitchedboy was aware of, and agreed to, the deadline for the piece. [7] October 21st - For the first time, hitchedboy sent me a progress update without being prompted. They said they hoped to have it done by the next day (of course, this didn't happen.) [8] October 24th - hitchedboy apologized for the delay, citing issues with the background. [8] October 30th-31st - The day before the due date, hitchedboy contacted me to say that the art was done, but they were unable to upload it. They claimed to be out of the house again and they would have someone else try to upload the picture while they were gone. Not only had I not gotten to see and approve the final product, I wasn't even told what website I should expect to find it on. In addition, I was extremely confused as to why they didn't just try a different site if they were having trouble with one in particular. I heard neither hide nor hair from them on the actual due date. [9] November 2nd-10th - I would otherwise have just written this off if not for the fact that they had actually completed a good deal of progress on the commission as per the one WIP I received, so continued to message hitchedboy in an attempt to just wrap up the whole ordeal. They claimed to have been in the hospital. No progress was made towards resolving the situation. [10] November 15th - I made another contact attempt on Discord, directly @'ing hitchedboy when I saw them appear as active. [11] While gathering up info to make this beware, I noticed that their Instagram username had been changed to oatiemeal. The account showed activity as of 10 hours earlier (no screenshot of this), and the link in their profile now led to a newly made DeviantArt page under the name seafowl. [12] The recent submissions in this gallery were pieces that had been completed and uploaded on November 3rd and subsequently, when they claimed to not have internet access. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I sent them a polite Instagram message. They responded only to request that I contact them on Discord, which I had been doing for the past 2 weeks. I admittedly lost my cool at this point, which I should not have done. Despite the fact that I knew they no longer used the website where the commission originated, I gave them a deadline to produce either the supposedly completed art or a refund. [13] To this date I have seen neither. (I also messaged them on Discord again as per their request, in case that would produce results somehow - it did not.) [14] I'm very upset because I was really looking forward to getting art from this artist. Quite frankly, I'm not too broken up about losing the payment for the commission, as I would much rather have the art. I can only count myself lucky that I paid in non-monetary currency, and hopefully they aren't doing this to customers on DeviantArt or Instagram as well. So here we go again. WHO: DevilAnney on FurAffinity. WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/devilanney/ WHAT: Character design and reference sheet WHEN: First started on September 30th, 2018 and has been ongoing. EXPLAIN: On September 30th, I had been browsing FA. I stumbled upon Anney's FA page where she had a character for sale, a green sabertooth tiger. After browsing, I saw she had been open for custom characters and I was interested in one as I wanted a saber of my own as well. She had given me her Discord to talk business. The character design itself was $10 and then, a couple minutes on, I asked about if I could have it made into a full reference sheet. She agreed and said the price would be $15 instead of $10. I agreed and was told I'd get two poses, a headshot, and a closeup of the characters paws. The character was going to be a saber, as well. We had agreed on the piece taking two days to complete. However, I don't have this exact proof since she deleted the post we discussed that on off of FurAffinity. However, later on in the messages it's pretty much implied as such by our conversation. I paid the $15 and the wait began. ( Read more... ) Two days later, I received a sketch of the character. She wasn't... really a saber but I loved her regardless. After I gave her the okay to continue, I didn't hear from her for another two days. At this point, she's already past her deadline she told me but a couple days wouldn't kill me. I didn't honestly expect it that quick, but still. On October 3rd, I messaged her and asked if there was any update. She told me she had been busy with other commissions and that she'd work on lining and then coloring the piece the next day. Fine by me. Two weeks went by without hearing a single thing from her. I messaged her again and asked asked about an update and she said that she had been busy with school and work now. I was then told I'd get an update when she got home from one of the two and I took that as an okay. I had a feeling things were getting sketchy at this point. I never got that update. Another week went by and I asked her what was up. I voiced how I was getting frustrated being told I'd get updates and progress but I never got any. All I got were empty promises. I then told her that I was starting to get to the point of asking for a refund. When I did, she REALLY started ignoring me. For two days, I got no response back. On the 21st of October, I messaged her again and asked if she was really going to start ignoring me. She then apologized and said she was going to go home and work on the picture. FINALLY I got an update. She sent a picture of the colored character and asked if it was fine. Just wanting my character and art done, I agreed and said that the colors were fine. From that point on, I've gotten NOTHING from her. On November 11th, I asked for an update. I got nothing. So on the 13th, I grew tired of it. I told her I wanted a refund as what she was doing was VERY unfair to me. I had given her plenty of time and chances and got nothing but empty promises and lies in return. On the same day, I filed a PayPal dispute to get my money back. She has not replied to any of the posts on PayPal. She has had time to post links to t-shirt designs she's selling which was posted four days ago, along with many other adopts. She's constantly online on Discord, as well, so I KNOW she's seeing my DM's. I also happened to go on her page and saw someone else asked her to reply to her Notes. UPDATE 11/25/2018: I started a PayPal dispute on November 11, 2018 and she never responded to it. Instead, she has vanished into thin air. She is no longer using Discord or she unfriended me. Not sure which. She has also deactived her FurAffinity and any other sites she used for art. Because she did not respond, I won the case and was given back my money. PROOF: PayPal Payment. At first everything seemed fine. I got the sketch and it looked cute. However, there was an anatomical error with the badge and as an artist myself, I wanted to let them know how to fix it for the future(see images below). I told them not to worry about it for my badge. This was the last time I heard from them. We originally talked through text but after they disappeared I found them on instagram after a friend got a commission from them after I had bought mine. I saw that the badge had progressed since I had talked to them but, as of me typing this they have not sent a badge. I have tried to reach out both via text and instagram but no response. WHEN: October 15th-31st 2018 EXPLAIN: Did not make corrections on a WIP sketch, and was abusive when such was requested. Admittedly, I could have handled it better, but I'm unused to such behavior. The latest/last notes exchanged through FA was shortly before I left for work this morning and when I got home this evening, I found that he'd already deleted the work and approval sketches before I'd been able to save them. I know English wasn't his first language, and communication was difficult at times, but he managed to satisfactorily complete one piece prior to this, despite him misreading or ignoring how I'd requested the characters be posed. I'm unsure if I should still press him for a refund seeing as he did the work, but I am now without even the unsatisfactory art. Edit: He did restore the image in question and I was able to save it, so the beware is now primarily about his behavior and advice on how to proceed. PROOF: I apologize for how disjointed and difficult to follow the conversation may be, FA note system is kind of difficult to use, and I had to bounce between my inbox and outbox. 20. October 25 2018, 17:48 Artist Beware: Baasil I shall begin this with a little warning. I was uninformed about the actual stipulations of Paypal; I have always thought it was only 60 days, and not 120 days for buyer protection. With that said I was a bit assertive to this commissioned person. I thought my time was running out and dry, but this could have easily been resolved with some reassurance by this commissioned person. WHO: Baasil [http://www.furaffinity.net/user/baasil/] SpicyBaasil [https://picarto.tv/SpicyBaasil] WHERE: Stream: SpicyBaasil [https://picarto.tv/SpicyBaasil] WHAT: This was meant to be a quick icon and a full color commission that stretched at most a 2 or 3 week period as stated by the artist. WHEN: August 31, 2018 - October 21, 2018 EXPLAIN: The situation all started on August 31st 2018… I commissioned this artist in the early hours of 6am, but their stream ran short and they had been up all night for that day. They said they would complete my commission the following day. I am always forgiving and being an artist myself was totally fine with waiting until tomorrow. Tomorrow came, and nothing had been done. I did not expect the requested art of a full color commission the following day, but I did expect some progress on this icon we had discussed in stream before. Shortly after there was a Hurricane that struck their area, no damage other than power outages on Sept 9th … I went along with what they said to me in that journal, that they will be working offline for their owed art due to those who had worked with them prior to the storm. Being patient I waited until days passed. Sept 24th came I asked for n update since their queue listing isn’t quite listed anywhere I can find. My sketch was promised the week of Sept 24th September 24th was a Monday and the 29th would be the end of this week After these following messages my patience became stale and I had to be a bit more blunt as I have seen little to no action by this artist to do their duties. I was giving the benefit of the doubt to them and letting them tackle on a new icon since it’s been rough times. Again another false promise “tomorrow” my patience is already running thin by now. As I do not want this artist do to any more work than is required I wanted to make it clear that this is replacing what we had previously discussed. Now comes the true fallout and where I feel insulted by this artist. [for some reason it has “RE” even tho this is initial messages] This is the point where I thought I am running out of buyers protection and being a bit more blunt with this artist. Tomorrow promises yet again still being forgiving to this artist as I know how times can be tough. Confirming and thanking on the new family member, at this point it has been a total of 46 days from initial commissioning. The icon was meant to be done the DAY after I commissioned them, and the art was to be done in 14/21 days from commission date. Things turn sour~ It was at this point that I thought my buyers protection was running out and thought 60 days was the final cut off for my protection. This could have been so easily retorted by the artist letting me know I had 180 days but they decided to go a different route. Their claim is that they have had my work done, but I do not believe them. I have no means of guaranteeing or not that they had my work done. I also felt sympathy for them because I do commission work too but of a different kind. This was the most insulting thing of our interaction. As a client it is not my duty to keep notes on what you as a professional artist are owing me. This is a blurry pic just where we had a verbal agreement of work we had done. It’s the best I could do I am sorry. Their vod was low resolution. They got the idea of me being under the YCH through my personal Furaffinity Page. As I thought my time was running out I had to pressure them. Things got hostile. They got really mad at me, granted I was being very direct and blunt. I was just tired of hearing the three or four confirmations of getting my art done “this week” // “tomorrow” that I was basically done with this whole situation and wanted my money back. This is where things turned sour and I lost trust in this person. The fact that they are threatening defaming my name even tho my only fault was being assertive made me wary of their intentions. “Rest of refund, you’re even making money on it because I can’t be bothered to figure out fees. If you still action, I will be pursuing theft by deception charges and reporting to FA. :D” After issuing a 30 USD charge when I specifically told them the amount. After this moment I just refunded both their initial 10 usd and their 30 dollars sent. The saga ends there. This was the worst interaction I’ve ever had with an artist in my time on Furafinity. Could have simply been reassured by some condolences to me. Letting me know I had extra time vs when i assert myself threatening defamation. I am not sure what circles they run with, but hopefully I am blocked by anyone who sides with their antics. PROOF: Inline linking as conversation goes on, but will include all here in order of all my messages on FA. https://i.imgur.com/B3xOVqw.jpg

It was very short, considering how much work she had, and she was so polite and sweet by apologizing for the wait, when it really wasn't bad in any manner. 4. My frist ref sheet~ :D Based on a picture or two that I gave her, and maybe a short written description, she nailed Aunburian's look perfectly. I was taken aback by how perfectly she'd gotten my gryphonchica to look! So fast too, perhaps literally over night and it was done. And the artist is an absolute sweetheart to boot. Ive never had fun having quick, tiny chats with an artist like I did with her. Especially from such an incredibly talented artist, as they can come across as a bit intimidating at times, she was just amazing, and by the end I just wanted to give her a hug. haha http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5949168 unicorn_magic Jun. 21st, 2011 04:47 pm (local) hunter_san/weavermage 1. hunter_san/weavermage 2. Her Deviantart 3. April 2011 4. I think this was the best commission experience I've had. Weavermage was very prompt in all communications and the final art was exactly what I wanted. She worked with my suggestions and was pleasant to talk to. Everything was finished ahead of schedule. I definitely recommend her! ( The lineart in this image is what I commissioned.) kayla_na Jun. 21st, 2011 06:06 pm (local) 1. PurpleKecleon 2. http://papayakitty.com/ 3. May 2011 4. I rarely commission other artists, because usually when I want something panned out on a canvas, I do it myself. However, I'm too busy with commissions atm to really produce something nice for myself. So I asked PurpleKecleon to do a Pokemon-themed picture for me. Waited for about a month, but the wait was worth it (I think she had a fairly large list anyway). Anywho, the picture she made for me was just eye-candy in all aspects. I actually found myself drawn towards the fire and the water more in the image then the characters themselves. Expensive commission, but worth every penny. Plus, she's very nice to boot. :) Picture can be found here(WARNING: NSFW): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5910646/ straychowchow Jun. 23rd, 2011 03:21 am (local) SoulsPoison 1. I've been a huge fan of Ashi and she's a great artist to work with. Fast and reliable and if she eve does get a little slow, she keeps you in the loop. She's always ready to answer questions, doesn't get annoyed or ignore you. Her work always looks just how you wanted it, sometimes even better! I commissioned Trashbat in December for a bug eyed and recently in April for a watercolor sketch and ATC of an old character of mine. I'm currently in the process of revamping the character, so I only had a few refs and a gist of the character in a descript. Trashedbat nailed the character and his attitude perfectly. I commissioned Slug for a RPG sprite icon, unfortunately her list happened to be full at the time. When Slug finished her current commissions, she took the time to note me ask if I was still interested in an icon (of course I was). I adore the icon (currently I do not have a link to it). She was very professional, I have a unique icon, and I was floored that she contacted me when she was open again for icons. She definately takes her clients into consideration, and I'll be commissioning her agian. nauro_chan May. 2nd, 2011 02:14 am (local) 1. Arito 2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/arito 3. Kashmere 2. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/kashmere 3. Several pieces between 2009 and today 4. Kashmere is the nicest artist I've ever worked with. She does incredible traditional work and usually has the finished piece uploaded for you within a week or two. She is always kind or polite and does her best to capture the vision you have in mind. Youll gasp when you receive the original in the mail because the scan never truly does her art justice. She always keeps the commissioner updated on how thier piece is coming along and always always replies to notes in a timely manner. Polymorphicgirl 2. http://polymorphicgirl.deviantart.com/ 3. Around January or something 4. Well, I'm actually friends with her so communication was pretty prompt and smooth, but she's very professional and doesn't ask payment until she delivers the sketch. Once she gives the sketch and you give her the ok, she begins working on the inking and coloring; however, she won't obviously send you the finished piece until she gets her money, which I believe is pretty fair. I asked her two commissions, six characters of mine for characters sheets, no background or anything, and in about one month and a half she had delivered both of them, inked and colored. This is the finished product, the six kids at the bottom of the image. I am commissioning her again because from experience I know she will take a reasonable amount of time, will keep me up to date with the status of my commissions, and will produce a quality drawing for an affordable price. poizenkat May. 3rd, 2011 07:19 pm (local) Ayriea 1.
