Tank (the owner of JuicySuits) and I originally started talking about my fursuit commission on January 10, 2018, with a quote of $2,300 for the fursuit and a deadline of July 4, 2018 (Anthrocon). https://i.imgur.com/WU14QwD.jpg I made the full payment on January 30, 2018, with progress on the suit starting in March. https://i.imgur.com/5uNF9Rp.jpg Tank told me there was a digital sculpt underway, but I never received any screenshots or proof of this. https://i.imgur.com/azGafKb.jpg Duct Tape Dummy was requested on March 25, and she received it on April 2. https://i.imgur.com/4DoJqcQ.jpg My first and only work in progress picture I received was sent on June 10. It was the buckram painting for the eyes. https://i.imgur.com/TxsHLm5.jpg On July 3 – the day before Anthrocon and the deadline – I find out via Twitter that Tank will not be attending the convention. I have to bring up the elephant in the room about the unfinished suit and she apologizes, but confirms that it will not be done in time. https://i.imgur.com/rcEGhZ1.jpg We make a rough deadline of 1-2 months from that point in time, for pickup. That would put the deadline at August or September. https://i.imgur.com/6CObsH5.jpg I hear nothing from her until September 11, when I am informed that not only has no additional work been started on my suit, but that I’ve been actually bumped back in the queue. Please note, my original deadline was two months earlier, and she’s putting other people ahead of me. https://i.imgur.com/aOUO6Ax.jpg I request a refund on September 11 because I am uncomfortable with the two missed deadlines and lack of communication. On September 20, Tank promises to send me every payment made by the person replacing my spot in the queue. https://i.imgur.com/cCfCkQe.jpg On October 9, Tank tells me that she can’t pay me because the new commissioner has missed their payments. However, she offers to take out a loan to pay me back in full ASAP. https://i.imgur.com/g4SFAls.jpg Tank tells me that her loan is almost paid off on November 9, which means she should be able to get a new loan and pay me back soon. https://i.imgur.com/Uld9Tjw.jpg On December 18, I demand progress on the refund. She replies on December 19, telling me that she should be able to pay off her loan soon, but she can get money together for some payment before the end of the month. https://i.imgur.com/SqOVshU.jpg January 1 hits, and Tank tells me the loan is paid off and she can get a new loan to refund me, though it will take three days to process. https://i.imgur.com/v6SYS14.jpg On January 11, she writes me a message, saying that her new loan was declined, and she will not be able to refund me in one large sum. I agree to payment plans of $200 biweekly, as I feel like there’s not much more I can do, and she promises that the first payment will come through on January 18. https://i.imgur.com/oTCAiHQ.jpg It's January 18, and I’ve heard nothing from her. I messaged her, asking for an update, but received no response. I have tried giving her multiple deadlines, either for the suit or a refund, all of which she has missed over the timeframe of a year. At this point, I just want my money back as soon as possible.

Last year I commissioned the artist Seoir for an image of one of my OCs. They were offering $25 bust commissions, which was a bit steep for me at the time, but I really liked their art style. So, I send them their money and all is fine. I wait a couple months, because I know how long art can take, and go to message them to see what's happening and where they are at. Turns out that they have deactivated their account, and I have no other way to get in contact with them. So, in conclusion, this is somewhat of an undelivered commission story and definitely a beware story. Hopefully the attachments work. Here are some guides to understand what is happening: png 1-4: My back and forth with Seoir about getting a commission from them. $25 Bust Commission Sheet: One of the pieces that Seoir was using to advertise their commissions. (Sorry I didn't include their name, this was found on Google Images after the fact.)

So I commissioned Alzeaker a few weeks ago before this happened. His customer service was great, and had a quick turn around. I got two cheap ($10 each) sketches for my characters which turned out great. I found out he would be opening again, so the next time he opened (15/03/2019) I grabbed a slot as a gift for my partner. I paid as usual and let him know. Sent over all the commission details, pose, character reference. Everything going well. Proof of payment: After about 10 days I get a sketch. Sketch: I asked if he could relax the brow and in fix the hands a bit, he said he would. That was 3 months ago. Since then I've tried contacting him 3 times on FA via notes, And twice on his page via a shout. I've also tried contacting him over telegram , Facebook and Twitter, neither of the texts have been viewed. I don't really expect this commission to be completed due to him removing all details from his FA and replacing it with this: In addition to this there is a post Facebook with someone calling Alzeaker out for lack of completed work (Can easily be found by typing Alzeaker into facebook) On top of all this he has been active and posting art on his Facebook, You can find his Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/alzeaker/?ref=br_rs as well as his other account here: https://www.facebook.com/caffeinedblackwolf However, this is personal art. Not commission art which he appears to have a back log of. At this point I don't think my commission will be finished seen as his customer service is limited, and just want to warn people by posting this to show his lack of professionalism (As I am aware there is another post regarding his lack of commission completion on Artist beware).

Artist riajoi took my commission (worth 250USD). The agreement was some art of a character. Received updates until a few months ago when my (Discord) messages went unreplied for over 2 months. Noted their account requesting a refund and filed a paypal dispute, received a reply about a week later accepting a full refund and they replied to the dispute allowing the refund. Dispute closes, refund bounces and is cancelled. Unable to get money or open new dispute. Filling out small claims court dispute now.

Never agree to commissions outside of written proof guys. As I don't have the first half the proof will start from the second point onward where they try to resolve the matter. Years ago I made a commission deal on skype to a partial friend (silly me) which was still a professional commission however. They were unresponsive for a while and I inquired about the commission to which I got no response. I since deleted Skype since I don't use it anymore and simply put them on an "owed" list on FA for quite a while. Last year they come to me out of the blue and post this where they do admit to everything. They put the blame on me and then proceed to dock me for a sketch done years ago. At this point a normal person would just demand their money back right? Well I decided to be curt and professional but still give them a chance. They respond to this in a way that even makes me feel embarrassed where they state that they are going to make it faster, messier, and sketchier... but still get their usual quality??? I was confused because it almost seemed like an insult to themself and was also annoyed because they should have made up for not responding for so long. I was again short with them but still polite and gave them a small amount of information to get through the commissions. They say they'll note me by next friday at the latest. The 4th of May, 2018 was a Friday so that meant the 11th which was the next Friday. They get back to me May 26th or more than 3 Fridays later to just apologize and make an excuse again. (Some blurred out as per guideline rules.) I haven't heard from her since and it's now September of 2019. On her profile it says she is even accepting commissions at the moment. As you can tell I have a lot of patience and have literally given them several years to do this. At this point I just want my money back. I didn't really want to have to put someone up on here in the end.

I’ve asked Seiruii, for a commission that I never received from a year ago. I went to a Anime con, they were super busy but my friend’s back was hurting her so I had to leave. They finished my commission and promised to send it...I gave them my address so I can get my commission and...flash forward a year later tada! I got nothing...FREAKING NOTHING! They were busy with work but I didn’t receive my commission. I gave them my hardworking cash from my job that I got had to quit from. they only texted back three times. They claimed that it was sent and also said that they will look in their room and do another one but I haven’t gotten anything. I’m doing this beware because as a reminder and a anime con tip. make sure you get your commission at a anime con, if a artist says that their busy or it will be in a week. Don’t buy from them. I can’t trust Deviant Art Ych/Commissions and Artists in the artist galleries anymore. Because I got ripped off too many times in my life.

I had commissioned Nexy way back in the summer of 2016, because I saw through a mutual friend that he was taking commissions to raise enough funds to attend Megaplex that year. I bought two badges in the style displayed in the attachments (character pictured is one he owned at the time; not sure if he still does!). Sadly, I no longer have access to the account I initially commissioned him from, but what I have left is a screenshot from that account proving that I tried contacting him for updates and, consequently, a refund, because of his lack of response and lack of WIPs. I later tried contacting him in 2018 via my personal account, providing that screenshot, as well as the original paypal transaction to prove it was me, and got ignored (and blocked from messaging him ever again). I never had him added or followed anywhere, so I am unaware of any situations he may have gotten into (and his twitter currently appears to be locked at the time of writing), however, he still has a responsibility to keep in touch and communicate about what's going on to his clients. Granted, it's partially my fault for sending the money via friends and family, so I have no way of filing a chargeback (and it's also my fault for waiting this long), but obviously, since then, I've long since learned from that mistake. As of now, I still have not heard back from him at all regarding where I stand as far as getting a refund. (His FB name has been blocked out as it contains his real name, however, you can see his profile pic to note that it's actually him.)

Back in July 2017 I applied for Dubmutt’s fursuit opening for a slot on their January-May 2018 queue. I wanted a fursuit head of my character Loki, he was to have magnetic eyelids, septum, and plugs. Everything seemed to be going well, I received an email accepting my commission and we moved forward from there. My suit was to be $920 with a $276 down payment. July 14th, 2017 I received the invoice and July 24th I made the down payment of $276. On December 26th 2017 I finished paying the invoice, and was told swatches would be sent out soon and I’d get an update when work was started. I reach out on February 2018 to see when swatches would be sent out as I was originally told beginning of December. I also wanted to see where I was at on the queue. Dubmutt told me swatches would be sent a month or so before starting and that I was scheduled for beginning of March. March 7th Dub reaches out to let me know they may need to cancel a few commissions while they focus on their health and that I will be updated. April 19th I reach out to dub out of curiosity of if my project was to be cancelled or completed. I was told mine was still scheduled. A few months go by so I message Dub on August 15th, 2018 to see if there’s been any updates. I am told they are finishing up two other suits and they were hoping to get to mine soon. January 8th, 2019 I reach out again to see if there was any progress. January 12th Dub replies to say they are finishing 3 suits and mine will be next, and to contact them through twitter from now on. August 31st I message Dub on twitter since it’s been quite a while, I ask if there are any updates or even an estimate on when my suit would even be started. September 9th Dub posts a PSA to twitter stating that they will be leaving the fandom, but owed commissions will be done. I haven’t heard from Dub since January 2019. At this point in time, I have received no word about my suit even being started. Update: 09/20/19
-
This is my first time writing a PSA, and I really didn't want to have to do this, but the lack of communication or regard for commissioners leads me to believe it's necessary -- if only to warn others in the interest of protecting their assets. I commissioned this artist on January 12th of this year, for two flat-colored pieces with a simple bg totaling $140 (transaction proof below). After the initial back and forth regarding references and payment, during which they were very fast to respond to me, I was content to wait and left them to their queue. On March 16th, I politely asked for an update given that I hadn't heard from them. There was no response, and I made another attempt on the 30th just in case they'd missed it. Finally, on April 20th, I decided the lack of reply was too uncomfortable to wait any longer, especially when they were still active on the twitter, stream, and tumblr accounts linked in their website. I filed a claim through PayPal a week after informing them of why I was doing it over both email and DeviantArt notes, since I don't have a twitter. I finally got what seemed like an apologetic and acceptable response on the 22nd, seen here asking me to close the claims in exchange for wip images. To my relief, they were able to provide them. My reply here. At this point, I was ready to close after seeing the very sketchy WIP images (NSFW, so they won't be posted here.) Please learn from my foolish mistake: if you ever feel the need to file a claim with paypal over a piece of artwork and consistently can't get a response, only close it once the work is finished. In retrospect, I was a pushover and I was way too ready to close the claim to avoid conflict. The last communication I received from them was on April 22nd sending me a second WIP. I sent a request for a few small changes in response. On June 8th, I sent another polite poke, followed by a more serious request on June 20th. I've gotten no response since. It's now been over seven months with only minimal and dodgy communication on their end, and none of the promised art. This is not a personal attack on @felixavenier , only an unfortunately necessary warning since they're a popular artist with a lot of commissioners. Please note that their ToS mentions frequent updates . Sadly, the impression I've been left with is that the only updates that will be given are if you threaten action via PayPal.

BUYERS BEWARE!!! I can finally make this post as the bank closed the cases in my favor... AVOID THE MAKER SPLOOTSUITS! I commissioned them for a head and bodysuit at MFF last year, in the amount of $1340. They only communicated once every few months, and would never provide any WIPs or actual updates to progress! Finally, they tried saying they would deliver the head in person through an unnamed 'friend' at AC, on July 8th, nearly 8 MONTHS later! Still, they would not send any updates, and when the suit never arrived, they made excuses to get out of any blame. Finally, after trying to resolve with them (to no response), I had to go through my bank, a nearly 2 month process of not knowing whether my hard earned money would come back. SO PLEASE do not commission or buy from @ Splootsuits. They will more than likely do the same to you. I hate having to make a post like this, but I feel like it is necessary. Above is the post I made onto my Twitter account, sharing this information before I learned of this website. I have attached a couple screenshots for this case. The two telegram screenshots are of the last few messages I sent to the seller. In addition is part of their excuse, their last message to me before their final loss of contact. In total, out of 8 months of waiting, I was only in contact for a total of 4 to 6 days interspersed within that timeframe. Finally, the last image is from my bank, showing the completed credits back to my account after all of these issues. These credits were officially added back today (Sept. 8th), as they were provisional during the time of the investigation.

On December 31, 2018, I commissioned Bree Drake for a full body badge while we were both vending at NYFB. I have screenshot proof of this transaction, despite the fact that it was a verbal, at-con, cash transaction, because I sent them a digital copy of my ref sheet via telegram:, at which time they asked me to confirm the type of commission I had purchased from them. On January 10th, I was contacted via telegram with an update as to the status of my badge, at which time Bree informed me they would be starting work on my badge soon after having some personal issues. Two months later, on March 18th, 2019, I attempted contact on Telegram for an update. My message was read, but not responded to, meaning that Bree elected to actively ignore my message there. She has not been active on telegram since July. Shortly thereafter, on March 21st, I sent her Facebook Page for her studio a message, asking the same question. At this point I was concerned because I was not listed anywhere on her Trello and had not even received the promised WIP. As you can see, some point after this exchange Bree deleted her business page, leaving me unable to contact her here either. As of September 6, 2019, I have not received a badge, a WIP, any further contact (nor can I contact her, as all her accounts seem to have gone dark as of March 2019), or any attempt at a refund.

In January I had commissioned neoarcadianx for a reference sheet of my character, they had actually designed him originally and had just completed the design a few days before. currently this is a screenshot of the invoice, I received a refund in April after filing a dispute, then chargeback. over the weeks I poked them on discord multiple times, asking about the art, and keeping up with their Trello. i asked for a few changes over the weeks, some not being added to the Trello at all After getting only one sketch and no updates, and not really getting any information from the artist when asked, I decided to create a dispute through PayPal. It was not a chargeback, and the purpose of it was to simply try to talk it out as adults. At this time this was not yet a chargeback, but a dispute. After this was opened I received this as a response. In every conversation I had had with them, I was never told they had commissions from months before that they had not started, and they never updated me on their rl life or situation. They also were continually advertising that they were open on public discords, and taking commissions while others had theirs put aside and ignored. Including my own. After the explosive response I escalated the dispute for a chargeback, and received a refund from PayPal.

Around ten full months ago I decided to contact this artist that I had already reached out too before hand for art and we have/had a decent and friendly relationship. I wanted to do a small YCH featuring one of my oc's and a random one to be picked out by me and the artist. The initial sketch of the painting was done up quickly, and the public ych was held and paid for. I still even have the original image/post up on FA: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/29041090/ This was fully paid for on my end. This was 350$ from me and 250$ from the other person who participated in the raffle. It was paid from me the day after the ych post was created. We decided on who to pick on the 19th, three days after I paid. The first update I asked for/received was on 11/11, I did get a wip of it and it was fairly nice. We did have a good relationship here and we talked often about random topics. Second update! Everything is going well! Again, I've never been rude or mean in any way and at that point we'd be considered friends/friendly Reached out again five months after the last update since I wasn't sure what was going on at this point. The artist admits that it has been too long herself and says she just needs to get it done. I'm skipping months here since I decided to give her some time, but I still bought other images since I assumed she was steadily working away at it. I was still commissioning the artist during this time. Honestly a mistake. A month later she decided to fully restart the image after a long delay. At this point it has been over half a year and she had just restarted it. Again, at no point was I ever rude or mean or short. Always gave her room and let her work while occasionally asking for updates. At this point I finally express my frustrations and I'm very upfront about it. She offered a free sketch in compensation and I definitely took a jab at her offer. I did accept the offer and I'm really tried not to be too upset/rude in my messages and I don't think I was aside from the jab. I didn't even ask for a wip at this point since I kind of assumed she hasn't made any progress. This was the last message she sent me, which was just over a month ago now. Still not sure what kind of progress has been made if any, she hasn't responded to my messages, hasn't responded to the other person participating in the ych with me. This is a 600$ image that was paid for when commissioned in full. There was no delay in payment, I was never rude, always friendly. While I waited for this painting, she finished another image for me in this time frame. Not only that but several rounds of commissions have come and gone, with the artist accepting more while I haven't received my finished commission. As of right now I have received nothing. No response for the last month, well past the time she claims to have moved. As of right now 0/600$ has been refunded As of right now, the offered sketch hasn't been given As of right now, no further communication has been had. Not sure what else to included, feels like I've been scammed out of money

The artist did a collab of my pic on their canvas (my pic: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27767027/ (NSFW)) and traced parts of it to make it look different https://i.imgur.com/sriQT4B.png (NSFW). Giving this as a result https://www.furaffinity.net/view/32385408/ (NSFW)

A few months ago I had commissioned snuffles to draw my Vaporeon. I did not give any specific action to draw, as I just wanted to see what she could do. The tweet in the discussion of the commission also doesn't appear to exist anymore, as the tweet cannot be found. After a couple of days she began working on the commission and I received the finished piece. A few days ago I received a message concerning the commission, asking if it had been mine and if I had known what had happened to it. They showed me the art that had bee traced, and my own that I had commissioned, and it was exactly the same with minor changes. https://e621.net/post/show/1790823 This is the art that had been traced. https://e621.net/post/show/1978875/butt-digital_media_-artwork-eeveelution-female-hi_ This is her post of my commission After these were confirmed traces it is believed a few other commissions she had done and pieces of artwork were also traces, but I can no longer find the said links and artwork for some of them, as I believe they either were never uploaded to her gallery or deleted after being discovered as traced.

I commissioned this artist to make a character sheet for my OC for $100. I paid upfront. Though he was iffy about the proposed due date, he said he'd do his best and I was willing to allow wiggle room. I contacted him a month later (May 23rd) to ask about progress. He said he'd get back to me, but didn't until June 27th, saying I "Slipped" his "mind". I poke him again on July 20th, and he claims that he's been sick all month. I send one "hello" message on August 8th and another on August 17th. No response. During this entire time, CozyCollie has been tweeting about accepting more commissions and doing YCH's. The screenshots I provide are of our DM's and some posts he's made regarding taking more commissions after I paid him for mine.

The final product was delivered on May 26, 2012. PROOF: 1. http://imm.io/sZUf (payment, with date) 2. http://imm.io/sZUu (stream conversation part 1) 3. http://imm.io/sZUz (stream conversation part 2) 4. http://imm.io/sZUA (finished product, with date) EXPLAIN: She advertised doing bust badges that evening, so I sent her the payment (see link 1). She didn't do it that night, or the following night like she said. I'm very patient with commissions, so I wasn't too fussed. Within a week, she had a sudden interest in animation and worked on "jumping icons", including giving out free ones to people who requested it at that time on Facebook. Still not a big issue. A month later she still knew I was on her to-do list, by tagging me in a Facebook post, and said she'd clear up her list. Still nothing. I tried to contact her through email (on April 17) and several other occasions via Facebook private message and on her Facebook wall, but she still never replied to me. Communication was extremely difficult. Poppy frequently posts about what she is doing, but something always seems to be broken whenever anyone wants to contact her. (see link 3) At one point, she had adjacent posts on Facebook: one saying "the best way to contact me is email", and the one next to it saying "My email is broken, I'm not receiving them." Roughly three months from the commission date, I hopped onto her stream and asked her to start my badge, which had turned into a "full body feral upgrade", which I'm not sure was really an upgrade. I think she only said yes because she thought I was a new commissioner and wanted the money coming in. (see link 2) She stopped at the sketch stage because she had to go to sleep, but refused to work on it any further until I attended another of her streams, which wasn't practical for me. Over a week passed and I asked for a refund on her Facebook wall, which wasn't replied to. Ultimately, she only finished my badge because a friend of mine reminded her in one of her streams to do it. I could accept a lot of the delays if she bothered to actually respond to her commissioners. The outright worst part for me was her constant complaining on Facebook about a fursuit commission of hers being delayed, and how the maker was accepting new commissions before her one - meanwhile, she was doing the same thing to a throng of her own commissioners without remorse.

Jun. 16th, 2012 at 10:26 PM goth_panther WHO: TheUnborn WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/theunborn/ WHAT: I commissioned her for a NSFW sketch of my girlfriend's character with two of her male characters. Screencap of agreed upon commission and payment: http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/5460/commissionagreementandp.jpg WHEN: I commissioned her on February 2nd, 2012 and paid via Paypal Feb 6th. Over 4 months later a WIP has been shown, but the sketch is still not finished. PROOF: Payment: http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2864/paypalna.jpg Note conversation on FA: http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/1763/conversations.jpg EXPLAIN: I commissioned her on February 2nd, 2012 and paid via Paypal Feb 6th. Two weeks went by and I check to see how things were coming, she hadn't started on it yet but promises to start on it within the week. A full month goes by and I check in again on the 1st of April and she claims she couldn't work on it since she just got the internet back, but she'll be finishing it that week. Mid April she claims to have my commission done. Nothing. She then starts to say its her medication that she can't draw, along with artist block. At the end of April I finally get a WIP and it'll be done that night. After that she starts working on "other projects" including a comic and something to do with voice acting, so again, commissions are delayed. Almost the entire month of May goes by and not a word. The 20th rolls around and still "almost finished" and she's "working on it now" 4 days later and she "loses all her recent progress" because her program crashed and she didn't save. On the 8th of this month she says she's working on it again. Here we are week days later and she's been doing $1 stream sketches, working on animated icons and I'm still waiting. I'm a pretty patient guy, but over 4 months for a $15 dollar sketch? Yeah I'm getting pretty fed up. It sounds like its a case of taking too much on at once. If she didn't handle commissions like this I'd commission her more. RESOLVED!: I received both a refund and the art commissioned!

Jun. 12th, 2012 at 4:37 AM pyeklet WHO: Akemi/Flarveon/Poppy Pandacoon WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/flarveon/ WHAT: I asked her to make a tail for me and paid $30 in cash, this commission was taken in person so I have no digital proof of the transaction. WHEN: In around March last year I asked Akemi to make me a tail at a local coffee meet and paid her in cash. I told her the details and showed references from my FA page. I asked if it could be done by FurDU, a convention on the Gold Coast in Australia, which was at the end of April. She agreed that she could have it done by that time. I didn't ask her about it for some time even after the deadline passed, nor did I have any contact from her about it, I'm quite a patient person. I was the first to initiate contact again via PM in May of last year at which time she stated she had received the wrong fur and offered me a refund, which I accepted. She said it would be in my account the following Wednesday but then sent a PM almost a week later saying that she couldn't pay. I said that it was fine and I understood. There was no further contact on this matter until November last year when I again asked about my refund, this time over FA notes. She said she couldn't pay me because she had to put it towards bond and only gets paid fortnightly but would pay me the next time she was paid. I said I would contact her in a week but I didn't feel comfortable, I was following her journals at the time about her moving and I felt that if I contacted her again I would just get another run around. Finally in March this year I told her not to worry about the refund, I had seen her journals about needing surgery so I thought it might help her out and I didn't feel like flogging a dead horse any longer. PROOF: EXPLAIN: I did resolve this issue I suppose, by giving up (never got a note back after that final one btw although it was read). It was annoying that she owed me money but was taking commissions, selling suits, working and BUYING commissions (and a new Artslave suit recently?) but didn't have $30 to pay me.

I wasn't on the list originally, and asked if she had forgotten our trade: http://i48.tinypic.com/11hujwi.png http://i48.tinypic.com/1ekzeo.png http://i48.tinypic.com/zl2av8.png And the link to the journal: http://samiesaurus.deviantart.com/journal/REQUESTS-AND-TRADES-STILL-OPEN-218018420?offset=50#comments She switched accounts over to samiechu/sxmie and I deactivated my old account and switched to JackalTeeth in January of this year, so I noted her new account to let her know that I had changed accounts as well: http://i45.tinypic.com/2ihqog9.png She didn't respond, but read the note. She made a poll asking for more trades in March, and I as well as another user commented stating that we have been waiting awhile for our trades. She says she thought that she had given me her half, but I never received it, so I asked her to link it to me again if I had missed it: http://i50.tinypic.com/o8eaaf.png http://i49.tinypic.com/2j885g.png She went on to take requests and complete a bit of them, they can be seen in her gallery: http://i45.tinypic.com/28meq2g.png The link to her journal: http://sxmie.deviantart.com/journal/#/d51un5o I noted her again as I was beginning to get impatient, and I am not the only one who has been waiting almost 2 years for their half of a trade. She said that she was busy with university, which I would completely understand if she wasn't taking requests and finishing them in a matter of days/weeks, as well as more art trades that she has finished quite quickly. My note to her: http://i47.tinypic.com/zlb329.png Her response: http://i48.tinypic.com/29a7u0.png She says that I am "hassling" her even though I have only contacted her less than 5 times about the trade since we set it up almost 2 years ago, and once to let her know I had switched accounts. I do not mind waiting years for a trade, or any amount of time really. But she has been rude to me in her latest response, and has been completing many other things during this time period. When we first set up our trade she was not attending university, and had plenty of time to complete it before she had gone, and obviously has extra time to complete it even now since she has been taking many other requests and trades. She is also holding a contest with some pretty hefty art prizes, as in full pieces and such. Overall I am very disappointed and stressed over this situation. I'm also concerned that I may have been pushy without meaning to be, and if anyone here thinks that I was at any point out of line, I would very much like it if you told me so. EDIT: She finished her half of the trade, and I am very disappointed. It seems very rushed to me? Here it is: http://sxmie.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d53b61m And a re-upload: http://i45.tinypic.com/2h375uf.png Compared to the requests she has been taking, this looks pretty poor. I would have gladly waited longer for something even like some of the requests she's been taking, honestly. I just asked for progress from her, not to rush through her half. She also made a journal that has left a bad taste in my mouth. It just seems very passive aggressive. It can be seen here: http://my.deviantart.com/messages/#/d53b6cb And a screengrab: http://i45.tinypic.com/2a95heg.png This is less about how long she takes one some trades an more about her attitude, I suppose. Forgive me if I seem short of digital breath or anything, I just got back from a convention and am exhausted.

Jun. 3rd, 2012 at 1:50 AM OH MY HEAD nanook123 WHO: Vani/Vanimute/Vanillakitsune/ stripesandteeth WHERE: VanillaKitsune.deviantart.com (now deactivated) also Vanimute@DA Vani@FA Stripesandteeth@Tumblr WHAT: One Traditional Badge costing 45$ (Paid $46 to cover paypal's fee as a courtesy) and a Full Body Digital Badge Trade, my half was completed for AC 2010 WHEN: June 16th 2010 for the Badge Trade, June 22nd 2010 for the Paid Badge. She had been known for drama in the past, but I thought she'd gotten her act together. I guess I was wrong. I don't pressure folks to turn the art over, but I waited a year before I contacted her the first time, and that was because she made a Journal on FA updating everyone that had commissioned her of their place in line. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1953643/ PROOF: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/badgecommission.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/badgeconvo.jpg EXPLAIN: Well, 2 years ago, I commissioned a couple of icons from Vani and she turned them around pretty quickly. Soon thereafter we agreed to a trade, in time for AC 2010. I performed my part of the trade as outlined in my evidence image entitled "badge convo". The link to my part is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4020610/ In her reply she mentions finishing my part before she leaves for AC that year. I was simply happy to get a piece from an artist who's art I admired. Then she made a post on June 21st 2010 http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1494591/ for a round of badges before AC. I noted her as referenced in my proof called "Badge Commission". I sent payment of 46$ and set to waiting patiently like everyone else. As an artist myself I don't make a habit of pushing another artist for work. I like everyone else had just kept quiet, even as Vani made post after post fretting about not having enough money to live on. I waited even as she took on more commissions from others. Even as she went from Con to con, making money off of other people, producing art and posting it on her blog, on her art sites and twitter. I clammed up afraid to speak up. I didn't want her legion of fans to come and get me. I didn't want to create drama. Like others who have posted here, I'm tired of that. It's not about the money now. That money is thrown away, it's gone. It's about the principal. Well, in March I decided to speak up. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/emailcheckin.jpg I emailed her to ask for a status. To this day I haven't gotten an email back. Part of me never really expected to. If she had any intention of doing the work, she would have shown at least a sketch or something by now. Finally I got fed up this week and made an inquiry to her on her Tumblr Page. To my surprise she replied with the attached... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v76/nanook123/tumblrmessage.jpg Her reply left me a little stunned. I mean, she literally has no intention of finishing any of the work she took from those on FA. I can tell it just by the way she's speaking. Just based on the badge commissions she took, basing them at about 40$ a piece, she made close to 800$ off of us. So after reading her reply, I sent her another message outlined below: "I appreciate the reply, and sadly I fully expected the answer I got. I'm very disappointed. I know you're a college student with a lot on your plate, but your commission list is 8 miles long. You made a commitment to all those people that you would draw them something if they gave you money. You made a commitment to those who drew for you in exchange for a piece back. You haven't even so much as done a sketch, but you're so happy to fill your blog with drawings daily. Instead of doing that you could do a commission a day until you're caught up. You know...if you'd just given me a sketch of the things you owed me, I would have been more than happy to call my debt paid and colored the dang things myself. You didn't even try. I don't think it's fair for you to say that you're going to a con to earn money to live on when you've already lived on the money that you got from every single person on your commission list. You've already spent that money and even if every single one of them demanded their money back, there's no way they'd ever get it. Your answer to me is a cop out. You're more than willing to draw at a con or doodle on your blog, but for people on the internet you're just leaving them on the back burner with no idea when you'll actually get to it. I'm very sorry you're in whatever situation you're in at school/home, but you made commitments to ALL of the people you took money from. So I guess consider the art I gave you a gift and consider the money I gave you a donation. I still really enjoy your art, but it isn't worth continuing to wait and hope for anymore. Best of luck to you, Trish" So the purpose of my post here is to help others be warned before commissioning her online or at a con. Her art is pretty, well done and balanced. I really enjoy the style, but it's not worth the headache. 2 years have gone by. I don't think I'll ever see the pieces I commissioned from her. I don't want the money back. I want what I paid for. Even if she did it now, it would feel forced. I don't trust her to do what she says she'll do and neither should anyone else. So, Please, don't mark it resolved, because short of a public apology to everyone she owes stuff to, there isn't much else she can do for me. Please mark it as warning. She owes 54 people plus 5 trades. I somehow doubt she'll ever do it. Even if each of these commissions was a single character at $40 that's over 2000$ she's made off of a community that trusted she had changed. I don't want anyone else to make that mistake.

Orion WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/aluminemsiren WHAT: One $25 character bust WHEN: October 27th - Present PROOF: I don't think this needs much explaining. Artist was commissioned in late October. I didn't bug them about the commission until months had already passed. Bugged them 2 or 3 more times between December 2011 and May of this year. One of my emails even went ignored completely (probably because they were getting hounded by so many disgruntled commissioners). May 12th, 2012 I requested a refund. The email was read but never replied to. I then sent another email asking for a refund, this time with more "srs bzns" verbiage. I was told I would have to wait until Friday May 18th and will receive only a partial refund because the sketch had already been done. It is now 3 days after the 18th and my Paypal account is still at $0. Aluminum, if you're reading this... I understand it's your business and you make the rules, but at this point in the game, a partial refund is only adding insult to injury. http://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/o605/kalipython/AS01.jpg http://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/o605/kalipython/as02.jpg http://i1150.photobucket.com/albums/o605/kalipython/as03.jpg EXPLAIN: Not much else to tell here. The screenshots speak for themselves. *shrug* EDIT: I have received a full refund in my paypal account from the artist. Aluminum, I sincerely thank you for refunding me and I hope you are able to get your commission queue under control. Good luck and thanks again.
