I sent her an email with lots of advice and tips on how she could better her freelance strategies but it seems others are doing this, too. I got a reply that was similar to her journal - I don't believe she really wants any advice or help even though people are trying to help. Stubbornness isn't going to fix this problem.UPDATE: DEC 2: New Promised deadline of Dec 21 offered and aggreed to by Cashoo. I sent her a reminder on the 19th about this, too.UPDATE: DEC 22: Just received my FINISHED PIECE! FINALLY! YAY! It is BEAUTIFUL and she put a lot of work into it. So I am happy I got it at least. I will mark this resolved. Item(s) Ordered: 2-PERSON Full-body COLORED SKETCH WITH LINEART. PRICE QUOTED/GIVEN: $150.00 (Basically, I asked for something similar to this: http://fav.me/d4tbnqj) 2 characters, no wings or anything crazy. JUST HUMANS with no detailed background.Proof of Purchase: PAYPAL:Explanation of Situation: Note: I am not accusing PC of being a scam-artist, but some serious business standards need to be reinstated and adhered to by this artist as clients like myself are getting very upset about her current practices. This needs to be addressed.I did my research before even making my purchase with her and thought it was a safe bet. The issue here is communication/miscommunication/missed deadline/turnarounds and ridiculously slow response times, etc. Many times over I had almost suspected she had taken my money and run, but then weeks later, I'd get a response apologizing for another ridiculously long wait of weeks or even months between letters.I'm still waiting on my finished piece long past the original deadline of June 15th, 2012 though. Here's how this has gone:I had been watching Pirate-Cashoo on Deviant art for some time when I noticed she FINALLY opened up her commissions. HERE IS THE DA JOURNAL I RESPONDED TO: http://fav.me/d4zcncw She states here: “These will be done within the month/by June 15th. Or if you have a particular deadline, let me know! Depending on the complexity, one commission can take up to 3 days total to finish. I'm really trying to push myself as an artist with these.” I got a reply back that day (May 11th) with the estimate ($150) and where to send the paypal money. She said I could pay half now and the other half after I got the sketch, which is what I did. The sketch came May 26th and following it, I paid her the rest (SAME DAY): $75.00. I am listing below how things went after that. I have documented them here though often her replies were so huge that I truncated some of them in the screenshots. She has also been taking MORE commissions every few weeks/months since I ordered mine. First ETA: MAY 11 “You'll receive a preliminary sketch within the next 7 days or so to look over before I hop into it.” SKETCH RECEIVED: MAY 26. (2 weeks) No reply after I approved the sketch.NEXT MESSAGE SENT: Jun 12 No reply. I wrote again JUL 25:PROOF: “I am writing you because it's been over 2 months since I've heard anything from you and I wanted to know if you could just give me an update on my commission. I don't mean to bother you, but I sent you the payment in FULL already 2 months ago back when you showed me the sketch, and I haven't heard a thing since. (If you need the paypal Invoice #'s just ask) I am not upset about the time frame, I just feel that as a paying client, I should at least be kept in the loop about what I paid for.” REPLY: JULY 25 “Ohh my goodness, I'm so sorry! I was in the middle of the lineart, but I was thinking about partially redoing the sketch, because it's got some serious anatomical issues, and I've improved my anatomy since then.” and a big story about all sorts of “troubles....” she’s having. SECOND ETA: “I should be getting to yours within the next week or so. I hope you understand.” (AS OF JULY 25) NEW INQUIRY: SEPT 3: PROOF: “I was wondering, Have you been able to make any additional progress on my piece yet? Last time I heard from you was July 25th - so, it's been over a month and I've not heard anything still.... You had mentioned getting to it in a week or so, but I've not gotten any updates since then.” REPLY FROM CASHOO: SEPT 8 Apologies, etc etc.... and “I'll be spending the next 2-3 days finishing up all sketches that haven't been done yet, which will include yours. I've redone yours a couple times and tossed them, but I think I've decided on what I'd really like this time!” “...But I'll be finishing your commission within the next two weeks FOR SURE” SEPT 13: FROM CASHOO “Well, I just spent the last ten minutes bawling my eyes out. I just...I just shut my computer down for the night, and apparently I didn't save. I...I don't know why my program didn't ask to save before I closed it. I seriously cannot believe it. It was so good, too... great pose and composition and everything. I.... seriously, seriously can't believe it. Oh my goodness...” Accidents happen, I get that, too. SEPT 15 I get a new sketch. NOTE: only a sketch. No more replies after I approved the sketch. NEW INQUIRY: OCT 2Proof:"Hello again Umm, didn't want to bother you, but any progress on my piece? Were you able to adjust the sketch? I know you mentioned the piece would be done within 2 weeks "for sure" but this was over 2 weeks ago... I didn't want to have to bug you, but I keep seeing new sketches on your tumblr... so... I'm sort of wondering where the heck mine went.” REPLY from CASHOO:OCT 3I GET MY NEW SKETCH. *yay*. I APPROVE. OCT 17: I GET THE FINAL LINEART AND A REPLY.PROOF:REPLY FROM CASHOO: “I have one commission in which its deadline is the 20th, and it's got a full background and everything, so I unfortunately have to work on that today. BUT, I'll definitely finish yours within the next 7 days or so...the hardest/longest parts are over, and the coloring is simply smooth sailing from here~” No reply. INQUIRY 1: NOVEMBER 8 “ I know you're busy but it's been a few weeks since you wrote me and you'd mentioned a while back... 7 days... but it's been 3 weeks now again. Any progress by chance? I noticed you opened more commissions for xmas, but please be sure to get mine done before you do those since I've been waiting since April/May and it doesn't seem fair that I would have to wait until after xmas.”No reply. INQUIRY 2: NOVEMBER 15th “Hey there, I haven't gotten a reply, so I'm writing again... apparently my messages are getting lost in your mounds of email I know you're busy but it's been a few weeks since you wrote me and you'd mentioned a while back... 7 days (or so)... OK, I get it - 1 week, 2 week, 3 weeks.... but it's been 4 weeks again and not so much as a reply or an (I'll be late again note) or ANYTHING....&rdquo etc. INQUIRY 3: NOVEMBER: 19th PARTIAL LETTER: “If you can't finish it for whatever reason or aren't inspired, or just don't want to - than by all means please tell me that or give me a partial refund or something. Otherwise, I just really want some honesty, that's all. I am a paying "customer" nonetheless and I have the right to know where my product is regardless of the circumstances and I seriously don't think that it is NOT reasonable for any client to INQUIRE about their product they purchased 7+ months after payment, and 4 WEEKS after an estimated delivery time. I saw on your FA even that you said in ref to that other person waiting months : "And, like some other freelance artists out there, a long wait time (about 4+ months, I consider) is guaranteed more effort and detail put into the final product. And if it's been an abnormally long wait time (7-8 months and beyond), there's a 50% discount on whatever next commission the customer gets, even free if the customer is thoroughly displeased." I'm sorry to be so concerned but we're going on 8 months almost here... You said it yourself: abnormally long wait time. And then, you gave me another eta over a month ago and no reply since. I mean, I think you can understand why I am still very concerned here... I can still wait if you just asked me to, but I don't appreciate being given deadlines that aren't kept or that I am not even told about changing, etc.”NEW REPLY AS OF NOV 19th:This was AFTER my post to AB. Unsure if it was provoked by this or not...(note: I truncated this a little because there were a bunch more personal family "issues" in there). I didn't think needed to be posted here. Also, she states that she doesn't know why so many people are getting upset with her about turnaround times. It's not just the turnaround times - it's also the money and the fact that we get deadlines that aren't kept, no replies, etc etc.NEW REPLY: NOV 22.It's very long, so I will summarize. I just got a new and lengthy letter from PC and although it seems to be thoughtful and kind, I am still empty-handed here. I am a little relieved that she has finally apologized for being terrible at keeping deadlines and "estimates" for turnaround times, but the message contained no further details or wips about my commission either, nor did it mention anything else about when I might get it. I appreciate some of her honesty, here. She is very upset about the whole AB drama, but I have tried to assure her that, despite her suspicions , we are not trying to "ruin her business". (this is what she has told me she is suspecting of AB). She's trying to sound nice about this whole thing and so am I, but niceness doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere and I still don't have any additional wips.IMPORTANT UPDATE: NOV 23. I sent PC a letter with some advice and bullet points on how I think she could improve her commission process (because it’s not nice to just say someone’s doing something wrong and not tell them how to fix it). I have finally gotten a colored draft and an honest explaination of how she works and how she runs business - basically deadlines are only kept if the client demands a deadline and all other pieces are worked on when she gets to them. Understood, but I thought I had been given several deadline/etas, but I guess not. So I am starting to believe that alot of these issues are from miscommunication and not keeping estimated turnarounds, etc. I am finally relieved to know that she's still working on my piece and that I haven't been forgotten. She also told me a lot of things about her work ethics and schedules that opened my eyes to why these are all taking forever (much of it is still not good business practice, but at least I have an explaination now). Much of this is also just miscommunication. I feel a LOT BETTER now knowing all of this, and I wish she’d tell all of her clients the same thing.... Partial letter: “A lot of the problems you've addressed that I've run into are due to sudden changes within this year from my previous years in this line of work. For example, in all of my years of doing this business, I've never had problems or concerns with 4-6+ months of waiting with little contact and no WIPs. Only earlier this year did I start regularly sending WIPs to clients, because I thought it would be a fun idea to do so. Before then, though, the client would pay for the commission, wait a few months, and then receive a message with the completed commission. And it worked out wonderfully, without fail...until these last few months. And it's weird, I'm not sure what exactly has made the change, but ohhh well~But...obviously, if I want to continue with this commission business, I have to adapt to my environment in order to be successful with it.Also, I always try to make sure to mention either publicly or to each inquiring customer that they don't have to pay all upfront (most I have are half upfront, and half after completion), and that they can choose a reasonable deadline if they so desire. Those who give me definitive deadlines get their commissions done on time. Otherwise, I assume they don't mind, and I try to mention that beforehand. I have forgotten on occasion, but for the most part I mention deadlines for sure.Oh! And setbacks can indeed set me back 4-6 months, as I illustrated in my last note to you...I hope that made sense! A commission of your type typically takes about 7 days to complete alone. With a queue of only 15 commissions of the same type already ahead of it in line is about a 4 month wait minimum until the commission is even started. I had about 20, and some of them had three characters and some had detailed backgrounds, which adds a few days to those commissions (typically). The thing that's really killed me is that I've been forced to take more commissions, because my consistent slew of bills can't be met entirely with my commissions, which take too long to complete to keep up with the bills. It's this self-defeating death cycle, and I've dug myself into this hole as a result...Sadly though, I wasn't aware of how inaccurate my estimated turnaround time was when I took your commission until I started improving my skill and putting more detail into my overall work...and shot myself in the foot in the long run.”

Nov. 16, 2012 at 12:53 PM I originally came here seeking advice on the situation, which can be seen here, but it was suggested that I still make the beware because of said person's behavior. This is my first actual beware post, so I apologize if it's done incorrectly. WHO: Thera WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/thera/ Though everything happened here on this journal. WHAT: One digital sketch. Here's screen shots of our initial conversation when she first ordered the sketch. Though everything can still be read in the journal I linked above. This is the finished commission. WHEN: November 6th, 2012 until now. PROOF: This is the paypal screenshot showing when she initially sent the eheck. This is the screenshot showing that the echeck failed to send. I sent her a note about the failed echeck asking if she could send it again or perhaps have someone else do it for her. She did reply to my note, which can be seen here, but she also commented on the original commission journal where the transaction took place. All of it can still be read in the journal linked above, but here are screenshots anyways. EXPLAIN: I hope it's alright if I just copy/paste from my advice journal, if not I can edit it. On November 6th, 2012 I opened for $5 sketch commissions and Thera wanted a slot. So we work out all the details, got everything settled and agreed upon. There was a slight bit of confusion on what she wanted at first, but we got that all worked out with no problems. She sent the payment, it was an echeck, and I started her commission. I finished it the next day and she was very happy with it. She even colored it and did a wonderful job at doing so. Now I've /never/ had any problems with echecks clearing so I really didn't think I'd have a problem this time. So like I stated, I did her sketch and finished it the next day. Now on the 14th, of this month, I got an email saying that the echeck failed. I sent a note to Thera asking if she could send it again or maybe have someone else send it for her. She replied saying she wasn't sure why it failed, but this was the second time it happened. She also told me that she wasn't sure why it failed because she had enough to send it, but paypal wouldn't let her send it until she added more money. So she asked me if there was anything else she could give me in exchange and I said no. With pretty large medical/dental debt over my head I really need every penny. A little while later she replied saying that she tried to send it again, got charged a fee, lost $70, and told me to please let her sort out her "financial bullsh*t". She said that this wasn't her fault because she didn't know this would happen. Which I got kind of confused by because she said this wasn't the first time this had happened, but okay, I understand that things happen sometimes. So the next reply I got from her is a story explaining about the last time it happened and her current family/money issues. I proceeded to reply with how I was sorry that her life was falling apart, but it wasn't really fair to me nor did it really concern me because I did the work they paid for, but in the end I didn't get paid. And that maybe she shouldn't commission people if her life is falling apart and she doesn't have money to spend. Honestly at this point I'm trying to be understanding, but it's kind of hard because she's dumping all her life problems on me and they don't concern me. I don't even know her on a personal level. The first time I talked to her was when this transaction started and I haven't contacted her or talked to her up until now. Now from this point on she starts getting kind of nasty with me. She's getting angry/frustrated and keeps using vulgar language towards me when I've been trying to be as calm as possible. Maybe I came off as cold hearted or something, I'm not sure. I mean I do feel bad for her, because honestly it sucks when crap goes down hill, I know, but I've always heard that business transactions should be kept as such. None the less, she tells me that all of this has happened in two days. So I go on to tell her again that I am sorry that her life is falling apart, but it doesn't concern me and she really has no reason to be so angry at me. She says she's not angry at me, that she's just upset in general, which is understandable, but really she shouldn't be taking it out on me. She should calm down and think about it before taking frustrations out on someone else. She has yet to respond to my last comment though. I was originally just going to accept the loss and just take it as a lessoned learned, but she says she still intends to pay me. She said I'd have my money in three days, but we'll see. I won't hold my breathe or anything though. I hope that's okay, I'm not very good at explaining things. 😧 I can edit anything as necessary. EDIT as of November 21th, 2012: I received a payment from taasla paying in place of Thera. I really appreciate it, so thank you again! I guess this can be marked as resolved then.

Oct. 8th, 2012 at 1:28 PM staple_gunner EDIT #2: ribbun has finally sent me my refund, so this can be marked as resolved! finally.. who: ribbun where: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ribbun / http://www.anipan.com/#!326 what: a mock 'sticker set' commission like this. they were only open for a limited time, so i snagged myself another one later in the day. later on, i had bad feelings about getting another, knowing she'd burn out on them eventually... but i resisted on changing my mind, knowing she needed the money for a reason i can't remember atm. when: 4-5 months ago, in may, after i received mozaik's sticker set. proof/explain: after having received mozaik's piece, i immediately wanted another so i told her i'd note her and had sent the note with the details and told i was put on the commission list. i promptly sent the payment (that was the basic rule, to send it when you were added to the list) on may 6th, the same day she had posted my previous commission. she knew it was from me, when she saw it in her paypal- because i always title my paypal payments with my username, and what it's for. i was getting tired of waiting throughout june. i was busy on vacation, and didn't really mind how long she was taking. later on in the beginning of july, i instantly regretted getting another, knowing she of course, must have just lost the inspiration to get them done. at first, i sent a note on july 13th, but it remained unread. i gave it time, knowing she must've been busy... so i emailed her instead, asking about a refund, on august 4th. i included my friend, ange, thinking it was easier to just let her know we both wanted one; ange is in the same situation as me, waiting on a sticker commission. she replied the next day, on the 5th telling me how she had just moved, had no internet, and it would be a few more weeks until i could get a refund. that's okay, so i waited until august 30th. that should be enough time, right? so i sent another email. she gave me another excuse. i emailed again, on september 17th. no reply. i emailed AGAIN on OCTOBER 4TH. no reply. my main problem is, after sending various emails asking for the status, is that after telling me she'd pay me back 'in a few weeks', she had stopped replying. i figured, you know, she has things going on, i'm fine with waiting. until i discovered she's been active on both of her tumblrs and on anipan, uploading art and... ignoring me possibly? i've had issues before on waiting for a while for art (it was a commissioned design), as have my other friends who have commissioned her. she is somewhat slow when she's not motivated, which is understandable.. but i assume if she's using these sites, she probably actively checks her email, a listed contact on her fa page?? so why am i not getting a reply while she's on other sites?? so.. at this point, i don't know. i really would like my refund without these redundant excuses popping up- $12 isn't that hard to make with her skills. i shouldn't have to have waited 5 months, playing tag over email for weeks. EDIT #1: since it took this post so long to be approved, i have to mention i sent ribbun a message over tumblr a few days before posting here which she replied to... and then i replied to her. no refunds still, after giving her our emails within that day. so then i sent this message, screencapped it on tumblr in case she doesn't reply/get to it or whatever and we have yet to see any money in our paypal accounts from her. so, yeah, i guess i'll have to continue playing the waiting game.

Sep. 9th, 2012 1:24 PM sbneko I really hate having to post here. I have a bit of anxiety issues and was hoping to just let this go, but many of my friends said it's really something that needs to be shared. I actually wasn't sure if it's even worth a beware, so I asked for the mods opinions first, to make sure I wasn't posting wrongly. WHO: They have two accounts on FA, lil-ariin and ariin WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/lil-ariin/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ariin/ WHAT: A digital piece, full colour, two characters and a background. WHEN: First payed on July 29th, finished completely on September 1st PROOF: Commission info he sent me http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin1.png Payment sent http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin2.png Giving his friend permission to approve progress http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin3.png Explaining that I can only work with one person, since he gave his friend permission for approvals http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin4.png Sending the friend the sketch http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking2.png Approving the sketch with a minor change needed http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking3.png Contacting about how I was having trouble and giving different options http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking4.png Bit of a misunderstanding and just explaining what's going on. http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking5.png http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking6.png http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking7.png Got out of that funk and was able to ink it and sent it for a approval, both approving http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking8.png http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking9.png Sent finished piece http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/viking10.png Ariin now contacts me, no word from the friend. http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin5.png We start discussing things http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin6.png http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin7.png http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do%20not%20Delete/ariin8.png >> I misread what he had said here, my fault! I thought he was upset that only his character didn't have a visible diaper, not that he wanted visble diapers on the ground. http://oi49.tinypic.com/10efryu.jpg http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin10.png http://i1212.photobucket.com/albums/cc453/sbneko/Do not Delete/ariin11.png EXPLAIN: I'd like to state right away that I did do a few mistakes. I personally have always shown progress approvals, both the sketch and inks, this is to make sure that if I do forget anything, it can be fixed right away. When something is my own mistake and something small enough, I'll gladly fix it after the fact. Otherwise though, big things do really need to be asked in the sketch or ink stage. But this varies from person to person. Ariin commissioned me for a picture. As I had others ahead of him, it took a bit of time before I could get to the sketch and make sure to send updates on that. On August 9th, I sent the sketch for approval. On the 16th I sent a reminder of approval. I no longer have the email, but may be able to find it by digging, but his friend, the other character in the image, messaged me to ask about the sketch, Ariin had left for vacation withought mentioning so. I personally cannot work with more then one person, as when I've done it before one would ask for changes, then the other and contradict themselves, because of that I work with one person who is responsible to comunicate for both parties. In the end, Ariin contacted me, approved the sketch and gave permission for his friend to approve stages instead as he wasn't going to be back yet from vacation. During this time, I had a really difficult time continuing on with the image. It's a bit difficult to understand if you're not an artist I think, but sometimes things just don't seem to turn out right and feel a bit awkward. I didn't want to give a bad picture or make them wait too long, so I gave different options and asked if it'd be ok. They went with re-sketching the same idea. After taking a break though I got out of that funk and was able to continue on with inking no problem and sent it off for approval. I realize this is most likely a big fault on my end and should have asked if they wanted me to continue or go with the re-sketch. I hadn't thought of it as I was already working on it and they did very much seem to like the sketch. The friend said they both approved. I continued on and finished the commission. That's when Ariin contacted me. The screenshots have all the info for that. In the end, I felt much too stressed to continue with it and refunded the background fee for things I had missed and couldn't fix and a bit extra for good faith. I would like to say though that his friend was a great joy to work with and talked to me calmly, he seems like a really nice guy that just got caught up in the middle. He messaged me to tell me he did like the picture a lot.

Aug. 18th, 2012 at 8:34 PM negawolfie Edit: Yuuri has finally paid for commission on 10/6/2012 Thank you everyone for the advice I really appreciate it very much! WHO: Yuurikin https://www.furaffinity.net/user/yuurikin/ WHERE: Business of commission was at a collab account in which me and my friend owns. https://www.furaffinity.net/user/mutantfreak/ WHAT: My friend who is the artist opened 2 commission slots. This is where I come in because I handle all the transactions and business of the account so we moved our discussion into the notes. WHEN: July 5th, 2012 PROOF: These are all of the notes on July 5th and on the 12th, plus the note that was sent on August 17. They are all in order. http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005772125500.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005735188800.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005715854400.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005777081600.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005783887800.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005763851600.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005774453500.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005732483500.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005793052700.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005720470900.png http://www.iaza.com/work/120819C/iaza17005780461100.png EXPLAIN: Yuurikin has had a small history with us. When we started Yuurikin was an amazing customer to have, she would pay quickly and gaves us a good conversation from time to time. She really enjoyed my friend's artwork a lot. We started out back in January. As months went by things were doing pretty well Yuurikin would always ask for a hold on our adopts which we had no problem in but the thing was she would never buy them even after waiting for a month or more. One day we were selling a huge batch of $5 adopts that had never sold. Yuurikin wanted to do a trade which I agreed on. So I gave her the adopts and waited for her half of the trade but it never came so I brushed it off since it was only a cookie cutter critter. When she took a art commission slot from us everything was going smooth at first till it came to the payment part. I ask for payment up front before my friend starts anything but since Yuurikin was like a friend she told me the payment will be sent in an hour or so because of her father. So I OKed it and the first stage of the commission was started which was a pencil sketch. Yuurikin loved how it looked all that was needed was a expression changed. So while going through this she mentioned to me that she found a friend who will pay for her now, which was fine. As we waited for payment the drawing was being pen inked and colored. After waiting for what I believe was like an hour or more I checked my paypal to see if anything was sent because the commission was completed. I saw no payment and the first thing that went through my mind was hoping that the email of the paypal was correct so I sent her a note about it. I told her she can't get her commission until payment is sent which she understood. After that I heard no word from her untill July 12th when I sent her a pm from my main account telling her that the payment was still never sent so she told me in reply that she will remind her friend. So I waited more and still never gotten a payment. Now my computer crashed from a hard drive failure on the 6th so I had no way to contact some people. It was on the 12th when my mother lend me her laptop so I could send a note from my main to Yuurikin that payment has not been sent. So as of August 17th I sent her a note asking what was her friend's FA so I could explain the situations and that I am still waiting for payment. As the note was read by her I never gotten a reply even as of today (August 18). So she pretty much ignored us. Me and my friend are extremely upset, Yuurikin had our trust and it felt squashed down pretty hard. The ink that is used for the lineart of the drawings is expensive which costs us $14.25. These are $8 bottles of ink which does run out after a lot of use. This is why we sell cookie cutter adopts with a large verity of color designs on them which is the only thing done digitally. Our main goel for this business is to make the customers happy and satisfied. We also have made a simple TOS if that is needed on here for this report. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3377520/ Also I do apologies if there are any errors my Enlgish is not my stong points and this is the first time I posted on here.

We got scammed by someone named Desmond_The_Demon. On September 8th, this person wanted to buy one of our adoptables, so we sent the form. When the form was completed, we told that person about the price for all of that additionals which were listed, so next, we processed with the invoice. On the Paypal it said that 'invoice isn't paid' but was viewed, when that person states that they paid. We tried to see what was happening with it - we got the answer that this person was paying with the bank account using the Paypal, so we thought it will need some time to transfer the money from bank to the Paypal - so we trusted that person (we're always helping our customers as much as it possible) and we were preparing the files for them. On September 9th - we said that the payment didn't come to our Paypal account and they stated that the money was taken out of their bank, so we thought that Paypal is doing something weird and we were still waiting for the payment. On this day we asked for the screenshot too, we needed the proof that the payment was sent and we wanted to know if the Paypal really need that much time to transfer the money - they answered, that they see if they can cancel the payment and they will show the screenshot after that. After writing that, this person disappeared until the next day. So next day (September 10th), the person said that they tried to resend the payment but the Paypal said "not able to send" and dissapeared again until the next day. We asked if the money returned to their account hoping that everything's okay. That person said the money returned back to their account (I didn't knew that the money could get back into the account so quickly, in 12 hours or something like that - it was suspicious too and we still didn't get the screenshot of the transaction). We thought if they can pay directly (without invoice), so we gave this person our Paypal e-mail for that, waiting for the results. So, they said that they'll try to pay directly and disappeared again. (I could say that they disappeared forever because they never wrote back, also we saw when they removed watch from our account). On 12th and 13th was weekend so we thought that we'll wait for this person to come back til the Monday. On Monday (14th) - still, no answer, the message is still unopened and their account was still inactive (like they're hiding from us). Finally, we gave them last day to write back and on 15th we saw that there was recent activity from that person's account, so we sent a note about that the time for the payment is over and the adopt is available to buy for someone else. We wasted a week trying to help that one person with the payment (which was probably fake and unpaid from the beginning, because they didn't show the proof that they paid for it) and we prepared all the files. We gave them a chance, because we thought they were really planning to pay for what they wanted to buy from us. SCREENSHOTS FROM THE CONVERSATION: [proxy has been censored out by staff. please remember that bewares are only to focus on your transaction.] That person is targeting YCH and adoptables (probably from 70$ and above but idk), trying to blame on Paypal that the payment didn't come to the seller and waiting if the seller will give them the product, because "it's paid" when in fact - it's not paid. There's no proof that it's paid - when you ask for the payment confirmation (just a little screenshot!), that person starts backing away and avoiding the messages. So, please, watch out for that person - we hope that no one more get scammed confronting with this person. Take care! UPDATE: I found that they wanted to scam next two people. If you can, please, re-share that or just tell people about it and when that person wants to buy something from you - block them, because they will never pay for that thing.

I have gotten a portion of this commission, but not all or even half of it. On August 21st, 2019, I stumbled across an advertisement for cheap experimental commissions. I was new to the community, and seeing some cheap art in a cute style did catch my interest as i didn't have much money at the time. I reached out on the same day to inquire about commissions.. Here is the advert- it is still up, actually. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/32748027/ I will include a screenshot as well. I comment on the post saying I would note them, and then I note them and I asked how many slots I could take, because I would get multiple slots if so. (I wanted to get my partner some too.) The artist replied back the next day. I reply back the same day and I grab 10 slots. The note is really long and filled with links for references so I figured I would only show the beginning with the amount of slots. Also, i include the end of the note where i confirm the price. I planned on tipping them at least double the commission prices after receiving the products since they were doing so much work. They reply the same night. I figured since I noted the same day the original submission was posted, i would be one of the first people since the advert did not have a lot of views, so i thought maybe 2-6 weeks somewhere i could expect at least one of the pieces. I have included a screenshot of my payment via paypal. I paid on the same night that they sent their paypal, August 22nd. I sent them a note just after I paid. They sent me a note back. I sent them a note after just thanking them again a few minutes after that note. The next little while they posted some of the experimental artwork that they had done, and it all looked nice so I looked forward to mine. On September 3rd, I was adding all the commissions I was owed onto a personal Trello and I realized i never got an estimate from them for tunaround time. I estimated i would start getting pieces at 2-6 weeks after payment, and they said it may take a while but they also go through them fast, so I figured it would be best to get an estimate for clarity's sake. So, I sent them the note. I didn't hear back from them until the 11th of September (8 days later). I thought about poking them again during the wait time but decided against it in case something serious came up. Note that their queue was never made public. They thanked me for my patience, and I sent back a note simply saying "No worries!" in reply. I left them alone for the next 4 and a half (nearly 5) months, since I know school can be stressful during the fall months, and the holidays occured. After the holidays, I allowed them some time before I reached out on January 22nd, 2020 to ask if there were any updates on my commissions. 2 weeks/14 days later, on February 5th, 2020, I receive a note back from them. The day of the week was Wednesday. The same day i reply, The artist reads my note but does not reply. The week comes and goes, which turns into two weeks, a month, and then 5 months. I didn't think too much about it with the virus being big, but I also wished i had some progress shown on the commissions that I purchased. I join Artfight 2020, and I notice that they have a profile, and that they are actively posting. This is the only site I had really seen them be active on in a while, and of course, when you have commissions that are nearly a year old and you see someone doing free art for others when they haven't been communicating with you, it can be kind of disheartening. I wrote out a long note and I sent it on their FA on July 5th, but they never read it. (not even to this day.) So on the same day, I decide to copy the message (this is why the text looks weird in the email) and send it to their email in hopes that i would get a reply. They reply a couple days later. I send a reply. They reply back. I send a reply back. That concluded our conversation at the time. I waited throughout July for my pieces or any communication, but none came. I even game them nearly two weeks into August just as a courtesy, but then i sent an email on August 13th. I never get a reply. I wait until the end of the month, and the date passes of my year of waiting for the commissions. I still do not have a reply. I send another email on September 2nd. Overall, I have nothing awful to say about this artist! They are nice, but they have issues with communication and following through on dates. I do like the pieces that I got, but I just wish i had all of them after over a year of waiting. I would still be willing to wait if they reached out to me at all and I didn't have to be the one to always reach out.

On July 24th 2018, I messaged Leone on Furry Amino asking if he had anymore slots left since he's an artist that I've commissioned several times before with no issue. So, I assumed that there would be no problems this time either and that all should go well, and I decided on a $57 half-body commission. An invoice was sent to me the next day (25th) and paid in full. I followed up with another message on August 10th asking if the commission could be changed to a different character if he hadn't started on it yet, which was OK'd and I provided a reference for the new character I wanted it to be of. Some messages are left out due to irrelevancy, since we were on friendly terms and would chit-chat about things unrelated to my commission in-between things. A character name is also censored due to them (the character) no longer belonging to or being associated with me. This is where the gaps in communication began. I didn't hear from him again until a month later (September 18th) but was aware of IRL issues that he had been experiencing at the time, so I didn't mind being patient and waiting as long as he needed. After September 18th, I didn't hear from him again until October 2nd and apologized in case a username change on my end had caused any confusion. He stated having more issues, so I didn't want to cause him any additional stress and was content to continue waiting. After October, I didn't hear from him again until November 9 and was made aware of a post that pertained to his IRL happenings and why the delays were happening. So, again, I was content to wait as long as needed and didn't hear from him again until January of this year when I was the one to reach out and message him on the 4th & 7th. I was becoming less active on Amino at this current time, so our conversation switched over to Twitter DMs after this point. I was told that my commission had been completed and that the file had simply been misplaced, although I never received or saw any WIPs of it prior to this whereas I had been sent WIPs every other time I've commissioned him. I tried to remain as understanding as possible and politely asked for a refund. After speaking with him on January 7th & 8th, I then heard from him on the 15th and was given a partial refund since he stated being unable to deliver the finished commission to me due to problems with his computer. Was also told that he was having issues with misplacing completed commissions in general. I was happy to receive an update and partial refund of my commission, but then another large gap ensued where there was no further communication from him until March. After March, I didn't hear from him until three months later (this past) June when I was the one to message him asking for another update. I mentioned that I wouldn't mind commissioning him again sometime regardless of the issues concerning this particular transaction, since I do love his work and had always had pleasant experiences working with him prior to this. Details were discussed, and I decided that I would be fine with a newer character of mine being drawn rather than receiving the remainder of my refund. I was updated on June 19th and told that he would be beginning work on it and also saw that he had simultaneously posted an opening for more slots on Amino. I was more hopeful that my commission would be completed this time considering that I did receive a sketch, but this hasn't been the case seeing as he's completed everyone else's commissions for the batch he just took mid-June excluding mine, which is something that I've been waiting on for almost a year now. I've received no further updates since July 8th and am somewhat frustrated with this and feel guilty about pressing for more updates, because I'm a very quiet and anxious person. I still have yet to receive the finished commission or any updated WIPs beyond the sketch.

I hope it gets to them because i never meant to not submit it. I just thought I already did and I went forward..Without their contact info due to random people clouding my dm's and amino it slipped my mind. It was a bad time and my first beware ever. I always wanted to be transparent with people

Hello. Thank you for writing this... I am so sorry. It has been a fairly long time since I have last spoken, but I did not expect you to after reading . During the time indicated here I had been going through a transitionary period with moving alone out of state with other troubles that made it hard to focus or remember what I did or did not do. I had assumed that I had already given your correction since you were already removed from my queue when I started being organized so I proceeded with the others down the list because you were checked somehow. I try hard to make sure things are right and I always(at the time) thought I can get out of a situation at a certain time only to be let down because I under estimated my situation as a whole or overestimated my ability to keep up. I was in such a hurry to move away from my failing situation(and I wish I could say more) and I had to make all that money by myself. My inability to organize is what caused most of this. I would have seen that it was not submitted and since I had not heard I assumed that our business was concluded around a month or 2 after your update post here. That is why I moved on to the next queue. I was not meaning to leave you hanging that way. Initially It was supposed to be a stormy cast so the tones had a reddish hue from the sky. All I had to do was take off the overlay on it, so I did and set it off to the side hoping to submit it same day. I did not purposely forget nor did I want to "not" submit the work. It does not make sense for me to not get the work done when my rep depended on it because I believe the more examples I have , more proof I could do set species for example. I have worked with you before and I feel like utter crap for not making due with what was promised. I still have the file in my portfolio but even so I want to fix this. I did not intend to have people break their trust with me and usually I did fine prior(and after 2019) I now have a built system dedicated to actual work with Display Cal as my screen calibrator. Currently I am doing Telehealth screenings due to covid to manage my mental status to improve and regain my work ethic in the past few months due to being unable to work during surgery next month. I just slow down in the mean time because I am in a way better position. I want to set things right just as I had done with the other queue slots that suffered from my irl issues and do another piece for you with this system with you present as I do it. I was not made aware of this until just now. I took too many and went too fast jumping over some(although some changed their names on amino so I could no longer find them or I was scammed into doing the work without pay, making me have to take more to make up after having to quit my job at the time to leave. It was too much to handle at the time but given the urgency of the situation I did not think to confirm or slow down to see people not receiving their work. I apologise deeply. I never meant for any of this to happen. If I am able to make things work I really want to. You were wonderful to work with and I screwed up way more than I would like. I just do not want this to stain everything because I want to get better. It has but in this case I never knew this is what has been festering. Again, I am sorry. Please forgive me.

On and off for the past year or so they always mention a backlog of commissions, and they've posted a good chunk of high-end adoptables for sale. Many of them at the cost, if not higher than your commission slot here. So it shouldn't be impossible to refund you if with how frequently these design sales popped up. I was watching them for so long and it just looked like a repeating pattern of 'life happening' so they couldn't work, but continued to do one-offs or open more slots despite journal after journal speaking about people who've been on the backburner with commissions and getting their work refunded. Latiro's mention of the journal prompted me to look at it and the language does come off real scummy and manipulative, imo. I've interpreted it as blaming a fed-up commissioner for her own shortcomings and lack of communication as the artist to her clients. And like OP mentioned, there's so many shouts with people wanting to know whats up with their pending commissions or refunds, but Mothux is essentially blaming them for the closure of her storefronts for quick cash. Framed in emojis and flowery words really doesn't mask the lack of accountability here. Their work is really lovely to look at, but if they don't turn themselves around, it's going to bury them further in the hole.

Oct. 8th, 2011 at 3:21 AM shestah WHO: Donryu of FA / Catboyd of DA / Donovan WHERE: The agreement actually took place in person at the art institute of atlanta. WHAT: It was for a heavy duty trade on a pretty large scale. A poster sized painting of a scene from his novel. It was Digital. We agreed in the beginning of the winter quarter of 2006, roughly mid January. We had both agreed upon a large exchange. He was going to do two of my characters full color in traditional media, while I was doing a scene from his novel roughly 30" x 40" 400 dpi. An image that I would have charged $200 for if it were a commission. I completed my end in July of 2006.took a little over 40hrs. This was his response: http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/8607/approvalcomments.png Over the next few years, I would ask him about his end every now and then, but he was always having a really hard time with life, or something really big was going on. I felt bad asking, so I let it go for a while. In 2009 I believe, my friends who were present when we initially made the deal to trade started urging me to contact him about it. So at the FWA convention, I asked him again. Life seemed to have gotten a bit worse for him. My friend Kelly thought he was just giving me the brush off again, since he was there and had all his art supplies with him. So we decided that we would give him a poke about it the next day. When we came by his table, he was busy coloring commissions for people. I was going to go back, since I get really nervous very easily, and he wasn't acknowledging us anyway, but Kelly greeted him and started talking with him about it. I felt bad that life wasn't treating him well, since I've been there myself. So when I looked at the art he was doing, I asked if maybe he would just do me one of the badges he was working on instead of the actual trade. I figured this would make life easier for him. He said sure. So I left it at that. I left a few reminders on his DA page during the next year, but no response. The next year, or the year after that (I seriously can't remember if it was 2010 or 2011) I went to his table and asked him about it again. This time, he said he was busy traveling conventions, and said he would not have access to anything but pencil and pen. So I would have to wait. My friend, now agitated with me for waiting so long, urged me to say something more. I brought up the fact that it had been many years, and he sort of went very quiet. It felt really awkward, so I wished him well and went back to my own table again... While at my table, a few artists told me he had no intention of doing any art in exchange for the painting I did. I told them that Donovan promised to do at least something this year. They all had a good laugh at my expense, then told me I should charge him as if it were a commission. I didn't take this seriously at first. Eight months later, after just watching him visit my page every once in a long while, I sent him this note: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/4103/notetocatboyd.png his Response: http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/1672/catboydresponse1.png It felt like every other time I talked to him, and this time, I sort of felt like he really was trying to blow me off again. So I responded with a bit more force, something I have never done. http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/4850/shayresponse2.png And my friends were right, because that note got me blocked from responding to him. I can no longer send him notes on DA at this point. But he still responded to me. http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/1080/catboydrespond3.png That was a blow. I probably shouldn't have kept at him in my second note, but I'm feeling really frustrated. After sharing the notes with the friends who were there during all the times I tried to talk to him, I ended up sending him a note on another website called FA in order to respond to him. Because there is really nothing more frustrating than someone calling you a liar then blocking your ability to respond. http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/4621/finalnote.png I sort of feel bad for my last note to him, since I wrote that while I was upset. I know that's just the worst thing you can do online, and I wish I hadn't done it. I really need to better control my frustration. I assume this will be our last correspondence, since I am blocked from commenting on his pages. As I stated in my note, I have just added him to my list of unpaid commissioners. If my notes were really out there and rude, please let me know, it was never my intention, since as far as I knew, we were friends. I guess I really just have to look at this as a loss. I'm not trying to say he is a bad person, or ruin his life in any way by posting this. I just want to post my experience. It's been very difficult, and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. I just received another note from Donovan after he had come across this page. http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/2074/donovanreplynew.png This is the badge/Icon he linked me: http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/3198/unled2hr.png I appreciate the effort, but he blocked me without asking for a ref of one of my characters, and has gotten it wrong. The name is also unfortunately wrong :C and, it seems to be digital... He is calling it a badge, but it is just one of the icons he is offering on FA. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6570479 All considering, I am actually just thankful for a much nicer reply and the unblock My reply: http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/5136/myreplyagain.png I hope my reply was not overly rude :C This is ongoing at the moment. Also, I would like to once again make sure that no one bothers him or notes him regarding this issue. I really frown upon harassment of any kind.

Absolutely horrid behavior. It does not matter whether you may or may not have agreed to long waiting time. Avoidance when asked to communicate about the commission is always a bad sign. Also someone offering good customer service should not feel threatened by a customer seeking out previous customers for opinions, but rather welcome it. If you give good service, previous customers will reflect that P.S: Your notification count is making me faint!

This is probably going to be my only reply to this post as I knew when in opening the case Artist Beware would not agree with my actions as I've seen how they react to things many times. As AsylumPatient said above, I was under the impression if I was given the PSD (as well as given the exact font and size) I had permission to edit it. I removed Adiago's credit because of two reasons, I never gave permission for it to be writen in my original commission, and I never wanted the name of the woman who in herself still owes me 370$ along with months of abuse and harassment. Efsher and I have always been fine, no issues and this was my second time commissioning her. Things only blew up until I went to commission her a third time and she told me that I could continue to use her artwork but she had someone come to her about the drama between Adiago and I and she didn't want to work with me again. I tried explaining my side as I had no idea what had been said and hadn't and linked her my beware on Deviant art and showed her the beware I had written as well as Adiago's Kiwifarm threads since it had more proof than I had and told her she if she changed her mind she could message me. She reaffirmed that she didn't want to take sides. Okay, cool. I was upset but I let it drop and marked her off as an artist I could commission. I had somethings with Adiago pop up, as I had been trying my best to ignore her after almost a year of dealing with and she wrote Tweets about how I stole from her, so on an so forth. I had enough and had been wanting to remove the credit that had been bugging me since I commissioned my reference and removed it. I'd never had an artist in all of my years of commissioning give out the PSD's and font sizes if it wasn't for text changes. So I assumed it was okay. Efsher noted me weeks later and commented how I took Adiago's name off the reference, and said it 'wasn't cool to remove credit.' I hadn't Efsher's credits and assumed one of Adiago's followers must have saw it and messaged Efsher about it (maybe the same one who noted her back then). I went silent because I'm not good at conflict and I wasn't sure what to say and after talking it over with my mates and friends I just let it drop as well. I wasn't given a warning that she would file a takedown if I didn't answer her or revert the piece, I should have answered her but I didn't and I take fault. As said above, I did not remove Efsher's credit, I would not remove artist credit and it's even seen by if you go back to my original referencesheets of Eclipse that I haven't even removed Adiago's. https://gyazo.com/ab5b94e3422cbe4cc195f1d98cd15e62 I was told it was removed for "unauthorized use", I even disputed with writing a ticket in response showing where I had proof of use and Furaffinity held strong. I do not really use any Website other than Furaffinity, having it taken down from my gallery without warning and no further discussion isn't right either and the reference is basically useless to me if I cannot use it there. I know many will not agree with how I handled things and I second guess myself as well but again. I paid 570$ for a reference I'm not allowed to use on the Website I conduct all of my art related business with all over credits to an abusive woman who still will not let things go even when I do 'play by her rules' because she hates me. I know people won't agree with me, I'll take this Artist Beware in and accept full fault but I at least want my side on here for anyone who does read.

I'm sorry to hear about this. It's incredibly unprofessional on their part to not ask if they arent sure how to draw something. It was never an issue until 8 months later, like you said. That's rough. They never said anything about it, they even said it was going well when you asked for an update. If nobody had ever requested that, you would think they would ask. And yeahhhhh, the "oversized clit" comment isnt great either. And I feel you on the turnaround time part. I had a similar experience and commissioned them expecting it to be done fairly quickly as the ad said their would be a 2 week turnaround. It ended up taking nearly a year, and whenever I would ask, I always was just told "you'll be in the next batch", "it'll be done next week", or "it's almost done" for months on end, over and over. Just empty promise after empty promise. Then at one point they asked if they still owed me anything after I left their telegram group (unrelated issue) and asked me to send my ref and details again. This was in November of 2019, I had already commissioned and been strung along about completion dates for around half a year at that point. Then they put out the journal saying that everything would be done by the new year. And of course, it didnt, I even waited until march 1st just put of common courtousy to ask for my refund because of the virus and stuff. They said I would get it on thursday, march 5th. Thursday came and gone. Then I reached out asking about it, and was told it would be on the next thursday, so the 12th. Nothing. Messaged on the 14th asking about it and they said their mate was having issues getting paid because of the virus, which I understand. They said they would refund on wednesday (the 18th). I give them more time because of the virus, and reach out march 28th. They said I would get it the next day which didnt happen. So I reached out the day after (30th) asking for an update. They reply on the 31st and say they'll send it that night. Got nothing. I ask on April 2st, they say tonight. Got nothing. I asked on April 2nd, they say tonight. Got nothing. It was the same thing as when I was waiting for the art, just getting strung along day after day. April 3rd they say they are waiting on someone to pay them so they can refund me. At this point two of my friends had asked for refunds after I did and gotten them before mine so I was getting annoyed. I ask for an estimate on when I can get my refund on April 6th. We have a long talk and I say my issues. They say they're scared they can't pay rent, but they're also taking in lots of commissions and my refund was only $20 and both my friends got refunds that were much higher amount than mine. I leave for over a month and May 13th I ask for an update. They say this week I will get it. Week ends and I dont have it. I simply re-send my PayPal address. The next say I ask yet again and they actually refund me over two months from my initial refund date, and almost 1 year from when I commissioned. I was going to write an Artist Beware had they not refunded me. It's frustrating and I'm sorry it seems there are quite a few people with experiences similar.

Feb 22 2016 Nycket uploaded the babyshower YCH, they said they lowered the price to $60 because no one was interested in buying it before at a higher price. Feb 23 2016 I commented letting them know I was interested but I was going to wait in case anyone else wanted the the spot. Feb 24 2016 I bought slot #2 for $60 in the babyshower YCH, paid that same day. Jan 07 2017 I had not been given any updates on the YCH since I had bought it, except for seeing it being worked on once in stream. This Trello card was the last documented update on the babyshower YCH. My character is lined and colored (the one sitting on the floor.) ~ May 2017 Nycket posted a submission opening traditional bust commissions (If I remember correctly, they couldn't work on digital images because they couldn't find their computer cord after a move.) I responded with interest. They were a bit slow to respond but later we agreed on a digital bust since they finally got their new computer cord. (No screenshots of the comments on the submission as it was deleted later.) May 08-09 2017 I sent a note with my references for the 2nd commission, then sent payment of $20. Jun 05 2017 I noticed that the submission where we discussed my 2nd commission was gone, and checking their Trello(linked on their FA profile at the time), I realized it was also not listed there. So I sent a note asking about it. They responded quickly saying they haven't forgotten. They removed the Trello link off their FA profile right after(without telling me they did or why), which raised my suspicion. Jun 20 2017 Nycket made a journal titled "READ IF YOU HAVE A COMMISSION, TRADE, OR COLLAB FROM ME" saying that they've fallen behind on keeping track of things. They said they were going to update their list and to let them know if they owed us anything. I commented with what they owed me. Again this behavior was making me feel a bit uneasy about working with them. Jul 26-27 2017 [The follow item has been removed by moderation staff. It is inappropriate for Artists Beware given it's personal sensitive information taken from a locked account.] Jul 29 2017 They were back on FA and I noted them telling them I filed a dispute and that some of their recent actions and lack of communication had really made me regret buying a second commission from them, considering how long I was still waiting for the YCH. They responded saying that anxiety was why they don't communicate, why they deleted the submission where I ordered the 2nd commission and why they removed the link to their Trello and apologized for everything. I tried to be as encouraging as possible and offered my full support as long as they were willing to work to get things done and to communicate more. [Cap removed by moderation staff because it is more personal general chat.] Aug 01 2017 I had let them know what my telegram was so if they wanted to talk, they could. They contacted me on Aug. 1st. and said they appreciated me reaching out, and said they'd talk to me later. This was the only time they initiated conversation with me. (I don't believe Nycket ever went on telegram again, so at the time of screenshotting this, their account just says 'Deleted Account' as Telegram auto deletes inactive accounts after a time.) Aug 16 2017 They never did talk to me again. I sent a note saying I was escalating my dispute to a claim (at this point I was tired of waiting still with no updates on either commission and having to contact them for updates instead of the other way around, and I was running out of time on my dispute and I did not have enough confidence in Nycket to complete anything in the time remaining) They responded saying they couldn't issue a refund because of their paypal being in the negatives and her job not giving her enough hours. This was the last time I personally heard from Nycket. I eventually did get a chargeback for the 2nd commission on August 25, 2017 (see previous paypal screenshot). Absolutely no word from Nycket on that though. 2018 They were posting journals up until late March in 2018. No updates on any commissions in that time. Absolutely no update about anything anywhere after March. Jan 16 2019 I sent an email to try to regain contact, but they never responded. Jan 23 2019 Left some shouts on Nyckets profile officially asking for a refund for the babyshower YCH since I never had asked about the possibility of one before they disappeared. Since they already did the work on my character but did not complete the image, I asked for $30 back instead of the full $60. Still no response from Nycket. TL;DR: I bought a YCH slot in early 2016 and then a bust commissions in May 2017. Never got an update on either of them, and neither was ever completed. Got a chargeback for the bust commission but still no update on the YCH spot. Nycket then disappeared and nobody has heard from them since. All in all, Nycket just never communicated and I was always being left in the dark with no updates or WIPs or anything. Lack of communication was the biggest problem for me, looking back on this there were more excuses than actual updates, if there were any at all. They never let me know about the progress on things, I just happened upon them in stream or if I went looking.

Hi all! Oh boy I've been wondering if I should even make a post or not. My experience with this artist is a little different but the outcome is the same; didn't receive anything back. This was my FIRST time commissioning Luna as someone showed me her work and I thought "wow that's cute!!". Maybe I should preface by saying I've commissioned a handful of people before and usually I don't ask for updates, as you'll see in the screenshots below with why I'm mentioning this part. I've always been fairly patient but then again.. I've gotten the artwork back in a timely matter in my opinion. This is 2 years in the works. This was also before I saw her massive queue. Again, I've been that artist, too, with the line up.. Alright, moving on.. She's promoted her commissions on FA as open as well as posting completed pieces. Seeing as she had many options to choose from I was stuck debating what exactly.. Found out she did pixels ($30 at this time) that's where I got interested. Cute, figured my character would look nice in her pixel style! Soooo left a comment, got a reply, shot a note, got a response and paid that invoice! Cool, awesome, sit back and just wait. Again, I didn't know about her Trello page and I thought she was actively posting new content during this time. Which, she was sure, but it was varied pieces.. Discovering her Trello I was for sure on the queue!.. Little shocked over the size, too, can't lie. Then a year passes, I noticed I was moved to her refund list. HUH.. but for whatever reason it took me some time to confront her about it. I was (now I consider it) foolishly waiting for her to contact me about the refund. Then I see she's promoting pixels again and that's when I decided to DM her. My first message didn't reach her immediately... Dang, nevermind. I wish I kept the screenshot I took of her Trello where I found out I was put on the Refund List, along with many others. As of now I am not on that list. I wasn't happy being put on a refund list under assumption I didn't want anything anymore. Felt that was a little unprofessional, especially since I wasn't informed. (Maybe I too am at blame for not contacting for an update?) Regardless. . . I think no matter the time frame of something you should notify your clients about it. As a fellow artist I am understanding when it comes to mental health as I'm that person, too.. But the radio silence was definitely bugging me at this point. This was January 2020, now.. No response. Patient, but a busy person time slipped me as well.. Eagerly waiting any response. Again, no response. I sent this email a month after I saw her post on Twitter about personal problems. I just find it odd timing that around this time (March email) she vanished off all her social medias. Only to resurface with a screenshot from not even HERSELF but another Twitter user saying how she's taken time away from all socials, again, due to personal issues. I'm just big bummed! Oh well. More waiting.

That's really scuzzy making a false account to try and make it like multiple arguing the same point. Fact of the matter you agree to the post TOS when commissioning an artist, if they don't have TOS then you didn't agree to anything they could demand later. I feel for OP, I've learned to not let new people I commission extend past the 180 day charge back limit. I'd argue if there's not much or any progress after 120 days the money has changed hands start bringing it back up often. Always allow yourself some time window in case the artist does start producing results when they know you're serious.

But they agreed to the terms. I have to side with that, weither the terms were changed or not, they agreed to the terms. It seems also that they never talked to the artist before going to get a refund through PayPal, perhaps if you would have talked with them first a whole lot of drama could have been avoided. Always talk to your artist, or at least try to work something out. Seems like they went behind the artist back kind of. Not siding with anyone. Both could have and should have learned their lesson here.

I've been commissioned by this guy, and currently I am waiting on them to respond to my 2 and a half month old messages I did a quick cheap commission for them a couple times which they did pay me for, but when it came to more expensive things, they flaked and when I did actually receive money from them i had to return the payment to them. Good thing I hadn't started on the commission yet. It's been about 8 months of them messaging me that they're interested in commissioning me again (this time a more expensive piece) but every time we come up with an agreed price and finalities of things, and I send them my paypal where they can pay me, they go silent for months. I must note however that they are very kind and I've never personally recieved any negative comments from them in any way, they just tend to flake out a lot and it gets very irritating when this is your only source of income and job atm. I've never been unpaid for something I've finished for them though, but that's because I always request payment at the very beginning. I'm sorry you had to experience this, that piece looks great btw! I agree with the other commenters, repurpose it into a ych

Jul. 11th, 2012 at 12:35 AM zombieyaoi I forgot to edit this a while back. I've modified the lineart in SAI (modified the horns, removed the wings, removed jewelry etc.) and released it as 'free by request' lineart. This is as resolved on my end as it's going to get. WHO: Zephriam on DeviantART. Zephriam on FurAffinity. And another FurAffinity account. Zephriam on Furcadia, among many other alts. I am not sure what alts she has currently, because she's a known trader, but I know she won't part with Zephriam, and I know some alt names are listed in the thread below. WHERE: Art trade between me and her turned commission. WHAT: She asked for character lineart. Agreed price was $12.00. Art can be viewed [ here ] WHEN: 2010. Image was originally submitted on my old deviantART account in August 2010. PROOF: Screenshots of notes are provided here. I am the OP, Lau. EXPLAIN: Originally, this started as an art trade. Then we decided she'd pay me 12 dollars paypal for the art. And then she never paid, and when I tried to contact her about it, repeatedly, she always never had the money or had some sort of crisis. While commissioning and paying other artists. I didn't want to resort to this but I see no other options. All details are explained in the thread linked in "Proof". EDIT: Added DA/FA links. EDIT 2: Added the new FA link as well.

I dunno, I feel like if it's important enough that your character be feral only it'd be one of the things you'd stress when you send the ref. Even if it's on the ref sheet itself, I'd always stress any important factors that must be with my character. While the artist ignoring you isn't good and they definitely owed you at least a correct feral piece, I feel like you could've been a little more understanding in that the artist's English is lacking. You weren't gonna get anywhere with long paragraphs.

I wouldn't consider what Minami 'sold' to someone else to be OP's character. OP considers his bee character to be male, fluffy features be damned. What Minami drew was basic moe girl. Also re: your other comment. We don't always require screencaps of the payment so long as we can get proof of the artist/client acknowledging the sale in some form; as Minami here has.

noodlenoodle96 commented on FurryPharma's record in Artist Bewares
As the artist who did the reference for the character in question, seeing this go down with a client who has always been super respectful and good to work with have this shit done to them has me fuming. This is why wips and changes are a thing, and arguing with a client over the gender of their character is unacceptable. -
This seems to be a reoccurijg thing with artists now lately. Their clients dont get what they want, ask for a fix, and then the artist decides suddenly to hammer on the client how they are in the wrong, this that and the other thing, then drop said client to the bottom of the queue or flat out remove them on the premise the client was x-person or for x-reason and then the artist thinks for said reason they can just run off with the client's money. Plus it was very rude to just be like "oh your fursona is a trap and always drawn naked so" and not listen to your reasonings on why they're not a trap. Your fursona is an adorable bee, which bees are naturally cute and fuzzy and adorable, habing your sona be the same doesn't mean he's a trap. Really it's upsetting to see this poor behavior and bad attitude becoming the new norm. All it ends up doing is getting an AB slapped on their name as a result. Plus you lost out on that blanket... ;- ; They should refund you the cost of the blanket AND the $30
