About Me

  1. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/906872.html WHO: Eulerami WHERE: Eulerami.tumblr.com / the-sword-saint.tumblr.com WHAT: Digital art (apologies for some lack of screenshots, an unreliable method of messaging was used (tumblr fan mail) and some chunks on my end are missing) I requested a painting of one of my original Thief fancharacters (a series she was familiar with, which led to our mutual following), in an appropriate forested setting. ** A misunderstanding occurred and she drew a completely different character in a completely different setting than I had requested, and I had not caught the error the first time it came up (I did not make the connection that the image she sent me was part of the commission because it was so radically different than the reference image and setting). WHEN: Contact was initiated in Early May (the original tumblr post appears to be gone) discussing emergency commissions. I messaged them and sent them the upfront payment of $25 on May 21, 2015. Because I used an unreliable messaging system, they never received my reference images and began to draw the wrong character. I mistakenly did not recognize the problem until 26 days later on June 16, 2015. At this point, I corrected the issue and emailed them with the appropriate references. An additional 27 days passed with no mention about the progress of the commission, and around July 13, 2015 is when I began to grow very concerned about the state of the commission. A general statement was made July 27, 2015 stating she was no longer working on commissions. I heard no word back about my commission until she opened up commissions again May 5, 2016 and initiated contact. PROOF: 1 - Original correspondance of the agreement to the commission 2 - Eulerami asking me what I'd like to have completed and agreeing to the transaction 15 - Proof of payment ** Note: reference image of character was sent, however the assumption is that Eulerami never got my message 4 - Aknowledging payment, describing setting for commission and Eulerami stating she would begin work 5 - After messaging them about the length of time it was taking, I got an update from them 6 - Eulerami sent me a link to their progress (June 16th), but I noticed she had the wrong character and messaged them back about the issue 7 - I clearly indicated earlier what type of setting I would like (docks or woods) which were disregarded, and though I assume my reference images never went through, Eulerami also never made any clarification on the matter. However I take responsibility for not catching the issue earlier. 8 - Issue resolved; character being corrected to the right one 9 - July 23, messaged them again about how it was taking a long time and was assured it would be completed shortly 10 - July 27, Eulerami made a general post indicating that she was dropping all requests to work on her project; I received no message on this personally 11 - May 5 the following year, Eulerami opened up commissions again 12 - I messaged them reminding them of my commission and they stated they did not have my payment, despite clearly remembering having worked on it (with the whole misunderstanding) 13 - Emailed them proof of payment and told that it will be completed soon EXPLAIN: Eulerami opened up emergency commissions, and I sent her $25 in payment with the understanding that I would also get a commission. At first it was very good, communications were excellent and we were exchanging information via tumblr. I sent in my reference images, and waited for the commission. From my understanding the message never went through despite me sending it, and Eulerami never received the reference image, and instead assumed I meant a different OC than the reference I tried to send. So when a WIP came into my inbox, I wasn't aware that it was meant to be the commission until much later since the character and setting were completely different than what I had originally requested. I apologized profusely for the misunderstanding, and this time sent the reference images through email to ensure they made it through this time. After that, I stopped hearing word about the commission entirely, except when I was the one initiating contact. Again, after this brief exchange, there was a lot of silence and no word at all about what was going on and when I might be getting it other than "soon". Naturally, I was content to be patient since she was working on multiple projects, and I understand what it's like to have a lot of things to do. On July 27, 2015 (67 days after I commissioned them), Eulerami posted a message: http://eulerami.tumblr.com/post/125203723681/tiny-announcement This message was a general post, and not once did Eulerami communicate directly with me that she would be working on my commission or pausing it. After this point, I had dead silence from them about everything regarding the commission. On May 5, 2016, Eulerami posted a new message opening up commissions: http://the-sword-saint.tumblr.com/post/143919832550 I messaged them again about the status of my commission and she said she didn't remember receiving any payment for the commission, so i had to send them screenshot to remind her that she had the payment As of May 19, 2016, I have still not heard any word back on my commission or any progress yet. UPDATE (6/27/2016): Eulerami has stated she will not be finishing my commission and that she will refund me. I have yet to receive my refund. UPDATE (6/29/2016): I received a refund and the sketch of my commission (to note, Eulerami had stated she'd redone the sketch with the CORRECT character and lined it/that it was ready to color, but it was the same character as before/still incorrect), and would like to mark this as resolved. I also want to apologize, as I had messed up typing her other tumblr username and edited it from the-saint-sword to the-sword-saint to amend my error. I will update with screenshots ASAP. Our last correspondence before I received my refund. (Sorry about the additional update, I'm done now. Thanks guys!
  2. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/855169.html WHO: mixideer, mixipony, miss-mixi, mixisweets WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/mixideer WHAT: Art trade: wing-it piece of my character for a custom furset of their character made on IMVU WHEN: initial conversation: March 29th, Finished my half April 13th PROOF: Album of images, some contain NSFW: http://imgur.com/a/TiJmI individual images will be linked in the story below EXPLAIN: Mixi approached me at the end of March asking about a custom furset made on IMVU. I proposed a trade over my normal currency of IMVU credits since I had already been watching her and liked her art. She said she could totally do that and requested I add her on skype. (http://i.imgur.com/UXN2FCS.png) On skype we confirmed an art trade (http://i.imgur.com/CfSy82F.png) I told her which character I would like drawn and gave her the first WIP (http://i.imgur.com/csLWyQb.png) I always give many WIPs as I work because I want to make sure everything is perfect. I had a slight delay in working because I had another commission that was paid in full, whereas I had not gotten the art for this one. I message her letting her know why I had been delayed and gave her more WIPs (http://i.imgur.com/uloGY9j.png) She says it's amazing and I gift it to her account (http://i.imgur.com/rKcoN5Q.png) Proof that I sent the skin over (http://i.imgur.com/8MB4HEZ.png) I can provide proof for each individual piece of the set but I am not sure that's necessary. Note: the price is high because I change the price from 0 personal profit to a high number after gifting it. This helps me keep track of what I have delivered and prevents anyone from accidentally buying it when I unhide it in the shop to be visible as an example of my work. Ten days after I have given her the furset I notice that I am not on her to-do list and message her on skype asking if I will be added to it. She says she is sorry for not having me there and adds me to it. May comes and goes and on June 11th I message her asking if she has worked on the art she owes me. She apologizes and said she is behind on work (http://i.imgur.com/TcXTXgc.png) Since me asking for an update she has posted a few gift art pieces and even did a freebie stream. She has also been posting a lot of YCHs. She has also posted journals for more commissions. I am a little anxious and message her again on the 23rd, expressing that it has been two months and would like an estimate on when the piece will at least be started (http://i.imgur.com/SKMQWfO.png) She was online when I messaged her but I did not get a response. I went to bed and woke up and still did not have a response. The morning after I messaged asking for information on our trade she was streaming. In the stream it was clear that she was on skype. As she checked messages when streaming (http://i.imgur.com/AHlRFWx.png) I decided to follow up my message since I knew she was online and on skype (http://i.imgur.com/ti9Dh1n.png) I understand not wanting to talk business during a stream and waited patiently for the stream to be over, figuring she would message me once people were no longer watching. The stream finished with her saying she was going to bed and I did not get any message back from her. Not even a simple "hey, I am sorry, I will have to message you tomorrow since it's late" After my messages had still not been responded to she makes a journal claiming to be on holiday and to have been gone over the weekend (http://i.imgur.com/hJA79Fs.png). This does not explain why my art has not been finished as I messaged her before the weekend she claims to have been gone during and she has been working on art both before and after this journal was posted. Her to-do list says "(I REPEAT, I DO NOT DRAW THESE IN ORDER, I DRAW THEM IN ORDER TO HOW I'M FEELING) Up to a few weeks wait or a few days of ordering, finished at least within the month." but it has been over two months since I completed my half and even longer since the trade was decided on. I am upset because I just wanted something, anything, drawn of my character. It was a wing-it piece so she could have easily used one of the YCH poses for it. She said she was behind on work but was actively taking and completing commissions and YCHs. I had to request to be added to her to-do list and now I have been actually ignored. Uploading products to IMVU is not free. I had to pay to submit those products and then pay to gift them to her. I have spent actual currency on this. This is not something I can get back. The only thing I can do is edit the products I have sent her with textures that are solid black with "Payment not recieved" in white across it. This will make the products useless to her but will still not get me my money back Update 1 - July 1st: Mixi has messaged me after seeing this beware (http://i.imgur.com/nwP355B.png) And I have responded (http://i.imgur.com/W2FEqzS.png) I also told her an amount and my paypal but the screencap cuts out and I figured it would be best to leave out since I would have to censor the information regardless. Update 2 - July 5th: I have not heard from Mixi after giving her the information she asked for in order to give me payment for the set. So I sent her a message asking for a response, (http://i.imgur.com/R1seooI.png) she has been online and has posted a new journal on FA in which she has removed me from her To-Do list, but still has not responded to me. Update 3 - July 8th: Still waiting on a response from Mixi despite her being active on FA, I message her again (http://i.imgur.com/Ja7rxvz.png) I am starting to question if she will ever get back to me. Update 4 - July 13th: I do not message people this often when waiting on art, but now this has become me waiting on payment for an already delivered good and I have not gotten a response from her in nearly two weeks while she has still been posting on FA. I send her another message (http://i.imgur.com/UQf8p4t.png) Update 5 - July 14th: After having been contacted by a concerned 3rd party, Mixi has sent me my payment. (http://i.imgur.com/ev3GZ4y.png) She has not actually said anything to me at all since the message she sent to me on the 1st. I have received my payment and so this can be tagged as resolved.
  3. WHO: Naomy. WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/naomy/ WHAT: Three iron artist slots for the month of september WHEN: August 20th up until the current date. PROOF: Down below. EXPLAIN: On August 20th I noticed Naomy had opened for iron artist slots for the month of September. She sells them for a reasonable price so they sell like hotcakes so I jumped on the opportunity and ordered 3 slots. Journal for proof: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6041794/ Screencap in case deleted: http://i.imgur.com/bVhK71y.png My comment claiming the slots http://i.imgur.com/InbW1Jo.png Note proving I ordered and paid: http://i.imgur.com/BOYcTmw.png I was slot number 7, 8 and 9 so I expected to get them within the first week or two of September and when I didn't I thought maybe she would upload all of them at once at the end of September so I did not worry. September 25th She posted a journal saying she would be finishing all of the remaining slots this weekend and they would be posted soon and that if anyone wanted changes she would not be able to do them because she has most of them finished already. Journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6143034/ Screencap in case deleted: http://i.imgur.com/9r28jlu.png October 8th She wasn't heard from again until today stating once again that she would be submitting all of the pics but to be patient because there was over 100 to submit and that she would be opening again after everything was submitted. A lot of people in the comments told her that wasn't a good idea because furaffinity has in their TOS "1.11 - Do not flood. Flooding is when you upload more than 10 submissions or 5 journals in a 24 hour period. " Journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6179922/ Screencap in case deleted: http://i.imgur.com/TyZws5F.png October 10th She posted that because of the said upload limit that she would only upload 10 to 20 per day so she doesn't flood furaffinity and get in trouble and if she skips your slot not to worry because she's not doing them in slot order. Journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6185333/ Screencap in case deleted: http://i.imgur.com/TyZws5F.png Did not hear from her besides the occasional pic posting. ( She posted about 9 per week instead of 10-20 per day ) so on October 28th I posted a comment on her journal asking her if everything was okay because she didn't upload things like she said she would. November 2nd She posted a journal stating that she has been busy with studies and work and that she would start posting a few before she went to bed and submit some more when she woke up. On this journal many of us suggested since she had stated that they where all done that she could just upload them all to a stash or dropbox so we could get our art without abusing the upload limit. She replied saying that she didn't think it was right to the commissioners to have to dig through all of those files and we all assured her that we would rather have to dig through for a couple of minutes instead of waiting days for our art. Others have also stated that they have been waiting on their slots from OTHER Iron artist months. So it wasn't only just september's slots being prolonged. She later posting ANOTHER journal saying that she would upload 10 images and then try the dropbox option in the morning. Journal 1: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6237749/ Journal 2: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6237921/ Screencaps in case deleted. http://i.imgur.com/ir8lmoi.png http://i.imgur.com/VVzqywc.png Journal 1 comments: http://i.imgur.com/xhnlJXR.png http://i.imgur.com/2TVf1Cg.png November 7th No one had heard from her and I was becomming irritated and said I honestly didn't believe that she had the work done because she was delaying giving us a dropbox link. This was bad on my part to be honest but I wasn't the only irritated one. November 10th She uploaded a few pieces of art before uploading a personal vent piece along with a journal stating "Hello, I wanted to inform you that in a few hours i submit more pics, and tell them sorry, but I got to be around here I'm not very good spirits I do not want to fail you, because you are the only ones I have not failed to me this year, I promise to finish it all in a week sorry" Journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6256675/ Screencap in case deleted: http://i.imgur.com/U8CBQK8.png It's November 30th and she hasn't been online since. Other impatient commissioners have been writing shouts some stating they've been waiting 4-5 months. Shouts screencap: http://i.imgur.com/eCiKEIj.png I would not ever recommend commissioning this woman, she seems to not be ready to take commissions in this amount at a time or even at all for that matter. Update. January 3rd. She has come back posting a journal claiming she had lost internet and will be posting the owed art soon just to give her a few days. I wouldn't count this as resolved until she posts said artwork. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6391970/ Update. January 6th. Since October a lot of people had been requesting to change their commissions to single pieces or change the second or third character in their pieces because they had been waiting so long and either the commissioner and their s.o or friends where no longer together and Naomy had stated that she would do all changes requested. ( Journals have since then been deleted, most of the journals I had screenshotted above to be exact. ) I had a simular delema and had noted her with request to change my commissions to three singular pieces instead of three-two character pieces as well as long with a partial refund for the extra characters I never got a response. January 25th. Finally some progress. She posts some of the owed commissions that had been waiting in a dropbox I check eagerly to see that she had posted two out of three of my pieces and to my dismay I see that she didn't do the changes I requested. January 27th-30th. ( I do not have these notes screenshotted but I can screenshot if requested ) I note her AGAIN about the changes. She at first noted me saying she would do the changes but followed an hour later with a note saying "Excuse me, but there was understood your message. if that's the case I'd rather give a full refund. 3 images doing more for you is something i cant do three pics. to be absent although it was my mistake I can not predict such change, sorry, but I'll just give a refund" I saying "Allright. My paypal is "soandso"" and she responds with "ok if you do not mind I pay next week, when you open new slots thanks" I got upset that she was going to be taking more slots even though she hadn't uploaded all the pending ones yet (There are many people she hasn't even drawn yet and has been asking for refsheets again despite her saying she has had all of the pending slots finished) and I replied "Look, I've waited 5 months for my art, art that was suppose to be done by september. I asked for changes before it was even completed and you ignore the changes and tell me you will not do them. I've waited long enough. I would prefer you send me my refund today." She responded saying "I have no money today, sorry" I responded with "Okay. I'll wait till you take more slots but if I don't get it in a week I'm going to get it back through paypal/ my credit card company." and she responded once again with a simple "Oka" She has almost deleted every journal/shout/comment pertaining to the wait for the commissions she owes, people asking refunds, ect since she has returned and from a few people that have already commented on this AB she is even getting hostile over people wanting refunds. I know her artwork is cheap but with her business actions it is certainly not worth the wait IF you even get your art at all. I will not mark as resolved until I get the refund that has been promised. Update Febuary 7th It had been a week since the last message I recieved from her so I noted her saying. "It's been a week Naomy." she responds with "yeah. also not opening slots for the moment" this upset me beyond belief I noted her back saying that it's been a week and that she said she would give me a refund, to either give it or I would get it back from the credit card company which would put her account in bad standing. She read my note but didn't reply, I wrote a shout on her page saying "Still waiting on my refund." which she responds back with "yea is true and I'm not working for now" she doesn't seemed concerned about my refund at all. Still not resolved. March 4th. She has finally refunded me so I would like to mark this as resolved.
  4. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/780624.html WHO: Gablethechimera WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/gablethechimera/ WHAT: 2 out of 3 commissions that where suppose to be done in stream. WHEN: April 18th until now. PROOF: Proof is below. ( WARNING: Some images and/or descriptions are nsfw ) EXPLAIN: Some of the conversations are missing because it was over her livestream but I hope I have enough proof. April 18th: I was browsing furaffinity looking for pwyw streams and I saw Gable, I noticed her account was new but she had really good art so I thought I would hop in stream and see if I could get a commission. She was doing "sketches" that where 10 per character. I asked her if I could get a slot and she said yes. I ended up paying 20 for a two character slot. As I was watching I realized I would want another slot from her which she agreed to so I paid 30 for a Three character slot as well. ( She sent me the paypal in stream. ) Proof that there was a stream https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5683605/ http://i.imgur.com/409GOKR.png http://i.imgur.com/m1hwrg9.png http://i.imgur.com/xbuZluy.png She had finished the sketch she was already working on but since she takes a bit to draw she said she would continue the stream the next day. April 19th: The next day as I was watching her draw I had another idea ( and since she hadn't worked on any of my commissions at all yet) I noted her asking if I could change the idea for the drawings into 3 commissions. 1 single character and 2 couple characters. She agreed because she hadn't worked on my commissions yet. http://i.imgur.com/6QVxcqO.png http://i.imgur.com/xbE7BTH.png She did a person in front of me then did 1 of the commissions I paid for. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13258105/ (NSFW) April 22nd I didn't hear from her until then she posted a journal saying that she had to put her 15 year old cat down and that her being online would be very scarce. I know what it's like to loose a pet so I didn't reply. http://i.imgur.com/komFPgv.png April 25th. She came back posting a journal about how she has a new kitten and was talking about how happy she was. She didn't mention anything about a stream so I commented saying how happy I was for her and asked if she would be streaming any time soon she replied saying that she would but the kitten was scared of noises so she may not be playing music. http://i.imgur.com/dDmVCy6.png She posted another journal saying that she was indeed going to be streaming and would be working on my other two commissions but because she hadn't drawn for 5 days from depression that her "Hand went wonky" and she would be doing a warmup before she worked on my commissions. http://i.imgur.com/gK7DmVM.png While I was waiting for her warmup to be done my friend and I got into an arguement that was suppose to be in one of the pictures and my other friend wanted to be in it instead so I once again ( for the last time ) asked if I could change the idea. She replied with it's okay -she hadn't started on this one either- and told me she was about finished with her warmup. http://i.imgur.com/MazooxJ.png http://i.imgur.com/u7payJ9.png This I do not have screencap proof of but it's relevant to the story. She had started on my image after posting her warmup https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13307174/ ( Nsfw, she had wrote that her warmup had taken longer than expected because instead of a scribble like planned she got into it and it turned into full fledged shaded "sketch" which takes about 2 hours or more ) She had got to the sketching phase and was lining of my second commission when she had to brb because "the kitten was doing something" and she had to check on it. People behind me and I waited about 1-2 hours in stream before she came back and said "I had to flip a matress and now I'm really tired from doing it. I'll continue this later D8" April 26th she posts that the kitten has fleas https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5706395/ and that she would be streaming that night. Neither me or any of the other commissioners hear from her again after that ( She didn't stream that night ) May 8th. She post a journal saying that her internet had went out and that it's back to normal. The kitten no longer had fleas and at the bottom she wrote that she would be finishing my sketches THEN finishing the commissions that had already been paid for before she started taking these sketches. ( Should have set off red alarms but I was so happy that she was back I didn't think about it. ) I replied that I was glad she was back and that I truthfully worried that she ran out on us I also asked about the next stream and she replied saturday. http://i.imgur.com/7pOowyA.png http://i.imgur.com/ojuYhop.png May 9th. She proceeded to upload two pieces of personal art. One of her fursona another a drawn version of the kitten mentioned above. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13413137/ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13421706/ May 10th. She did not stream like she said she would but she did upload what I'm assuming was either an over due commission ( Giving her the benifit of the doubt ) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/13428583/ ( Nsfw and warning gore ) May 16th. I hadn't heard any word from her so I decided to note her. I asked when she was planning on streaming. She read it but didn't reply until three days later. http://i.imgur.com/9xJ13ti.png May 19th. She had replied stating she had, had family problems and that she would "Steam tonight or tomorrow" or I should let her know a day that is good for me. http://i.imgur.com/hEYIQDb.png I replied saying that if she couldn't stream today or tomarrow to send me a note when she could and that I'm on furaffinity daily so I would probably see it. http://i.imgur.com/9gCFlV8.png She replied saying she was sorry again for the wait and another excuse saying that another reason she hasn't been hopping on is that her parents didn't know she was furry and that she had to do it secretly. http://i.imgur.com/kR1r3JV.png I haven't heard from her since. May 31st I sent her a note asking if she could by any chance get the commissions done by june 13th because they where suppose to be done orignally within a week, then time was extended to a month. http://i.imgur.com/xGIhaVL.png June 8th I did not get a response from her ( Note was unread ) so I sent another titled "I would like to request a refund" and told her I meant no offense but since she seems so busy that I would like my 30 ( out of 50 ) dollars back for the commissions that wheren't done and gave her my new paypal. http://i.imgur.com/Ul9cBaV.png June 18th Still no response both notes unread I left a shout on her page ( in case her notes where disabled and for other people she may owe money to to see they're not the only one. ) Saying that I would be reporting her here if I don't get a response at the end of the month. http://i.imgur.com/hACJ6hn.png ( Also shows a kinda annoyed "._." message I left June 1st. ) Proof notes are unread. http://i.imgur.com/VLEgcbn.png Sofurry I had also left a shout on her page on sofurry asking where she was in case she left furaffinity but I don't have the exact date it just says "Posted 2 months ago" http://i.imgur.com/tZ3knu0.png I honestly just want the refund for the art she did not do. I feel sorry for the people that had already paid before me as well as the ones behind me. Current Mood:annoyed
  5. Hello! Hytyle/Rayd/Aprilycan here. I just wanted to take a (rather embarrassing) trip down memory lane and once again atone for one of my biggest mistakes on the internet. As I've been heavily considering moving on from the fandom for unrelated reasons, I thought about this week of my life and thought I would write this post as a means for closure before I turn the page on this chapter of my past. First and foremost, I take full responsibility for what happened. I was very young and stubborn back when I did what I did (16/17?) and was frankly ignorant to commissioning etiquette at the time. I made a lot of childish and disparaging comments on the original thread and behaved in a way that was reflective of my age and stupidity in response to any criticism or demand for accountability I faced, showing how incredibly entitled I was, which I'm now aware was very tasteless and only dug a far deeper, much more embarrassing hole for myself. I also admit that, at the time, I only ever paid the artist to save myself from any further criticism or shame, rather than any actual repentance. I did what I did because I was an irresponsible teen who committed all of his allowance money on a single art piece, and instead of expressing to the artist that I was unhappy with the art and paying him for his time, I blocked him and thought nothing of it, not wanting to lose my allowance money for something I didn't like, again showing my immaturity and inexperience, having been morally stunted and misguided at that time in my life. I could make the excuse that I was peer pressured into doing so by a friend, but even if that did excuse me (it doesn't), I made the conscious choice to double down on my wrong doing and even try to paint the artist in a bad light to save my own skin, again something I'm incredibly embarrassed to relive and deeply regret doing. At the end of the day, every decision made was my own and nobody was to blame but myself. I'm very happy to say that I have grown a lot since the series of mistakes I have made, and have not had any further problems with any other artist throughout the 5 years that have passed since. I have gone from somebody who was unwilling to pay an artist for the bare minimum, to somebody who thanks artists endlessly for their work, somebody who tips ontop of payment when able, and somebody who appreciates and values art and money a lot more appropriately. Not only have I grown through my commissioning ventures, but also my behavior as well! Through maturing and therapy, I have become a lot more introspective, accountable, morally thoughtful and understanding! (Apparently I had unchecked BPD! Which may partially explain how I acted out on the original thread hahah). I have made more friendships and healthy artist/commissioner relationships than I can count and I couldn't be more grateful! With everything said, I would like to officially, genuinely apologize to drowninginbooks, the artist in question, and I hope you are living life to the fullest, wherever you may be. I also apologize to the numerous spectators that had to witness my childish and snarky behavior. There was a time this beware haunted me for awhile because of how embarrassing I behaved and slowly coming to terms with the mistake I made, but really, for all I know, it could have been the catalyst for the stark contrast in how I behave today, and I am really thankful that I was held accountable for what I did before at worst I really hurt somebody, or at least I never changed. Thank you all for hearing me out, and I wish you all a happy holiday!
  6. I am so sorry this happened to you, OP. And this is why I'm terrified of commissioning fursuits. I cannot stand how irresponsible this person was. Yes, life gets in the way, yes, accidents happen, yes, mental illness kicks all of our tails. However, using those as excuses to not work, is never acceptable. If it doesn't fly in an office building, it doesn't fly in the artist's/fandom's world either. Also, using mental illness as an excuse feels like a personal attack on the rest of us. Being mentally handicapped (depression, anxiety, what have you) is not a free ticket from work. You offered a service and you didn't deliver. Simple as that.
  7. Both names & number tags can easily be changed via discord, which can make it difficult to block people or report them for getting around your blocks. Just as a general heads up for anyone asking for a discord tag, there's an ID that cannot be changed, and its accessible via Advanced Tools/Developer mode, and you'll be able to get a more definitive acct link in the event the individual might have access to Discord Nitro to change their #0000 associated /w their username 😆
  8. Hey just as a heads up, OP. Furry is very active on Facebook. You may still want to watch out to see if the bases are being used. Contacting the mods for the various groups before hand may help.
  9. I didn`t do a refund because on boosty the payer initiates the refund. You`re basically blaming me outloud for the thing I cannot do lol. And instead of a proper conversation in order to clarify how exactly you can get your money back you made a post on me)) so mature (no)
  10. Fursuit Maker and I agreed on a commission for one fursuit head. I paid them 450$ on the date of Feb. 24 2023 via paypal. Maker specifically requested payment using the "friends and family" option, making it impossible to get a refund through paypal... they said it would be done “March-April”, or about 2 months. Payment was made in full. Maker promised to make a head mock-up day of payment, which never happened. Maker promised the following deadlines: DEADLINE 1: Completion March-April 2023, said on Feb 25 2023. (see above) DEADLINE 2: Said they would begin in May 2023 (1 month after the first deadline.), said on Mar. 23 2023. DEADLINE 3: September 2023 (7 months after first deadline), said on Aug. 10th 2023. DEADLINE 4: would be done around Oct-November (9 months after first deadline), said on Oct. 4 2023. DEADLINE 5: Said they would try to finish by the end of the year, December (10 months after the first deadline). Said this on Nov 13 2023. All dates were missed. A 3D base was never designed, nor printed, thus Fur was never cut, etc. Maker saved only 3 reference images of the character despite me sending multiple, which implies they never intended to start work, as the updated photos had key design notes. As stated earlier, The maker made no concept images or 3d base designs, despite agreeing to do so on the date of payment. Maker told me they printed the headbase of my suit on Jan. 12 2024 (11 months after the first deadline..) but never sent an image. Maker tried to resolve the issue by promising to begin work and add paws + tail to my order, but I declined the tail so it wouldn't take as long. Maker never began the paws. I would understand if they had to halt work upon beginning my suit, I would be patient, and I have been; However they made no attempts or plans to work on my suit until Mar. 15 2024 when I had suggested I was being scammed, because I genuinely had no reason to believe I'd ever get my suit. They claimed to have printed out a base for my suit but I never saw it. Maker offered to send a free fursuit base for the wait time; I declined, and just requested my money back. Maker agreed to a refund on April 1 2024, with a deadline refund date of July 1 to pay (their own words.) No money has been received. they have ignored my messages and I suspect I have been blocked by them on Telegram. (My last message came from a complete lapse in judgement due to a build-up of frustration. I should not be so accusatory or speak in such a rude way.) I understand that their work is good quality, but their business practices are absolutely unacceptable. If they cannot even BEGIN my suit after more than a YEAR, they should not be taking new commissions. They have been working on other suits, but have never touched mine. I understand some clients are more important than others and I would not be complaining if I had waited less than a year for only a head. TL;DR Commissioned Navy for a fursuit head. Maker promised and missed 5 deadlines over the span of a year and a few months. Navy told me they printed my base, but I was never shown said base. They offered to add paws to my order for my wait, which I agreed. After a year without any work, I confronted them and requested a refund. Navy promised to refund my 450$ by July 10 2024, and then never responded to me again. ___________________________
  11. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/898979.html WHO: kgosiarts / reverseinversefursuits WHERE: Kgosiarts @ FA (old account) Reverseinverse Fursuits @ FA (current account) Facebook page WHAT: Fursuit partial (faun legs) WHEN: Feb. 15 2015 to Nov. 3 2015 PROOF: Initial contact Agreement on details and payment Payment sent DTD is sent and arrives Issue with fur order Asking for an update Flood happens Contact stops Sent messages over FA (read, not replied) Contact on Facebook: One, two, three, four EXPLAIN: A long, long time ago… Back in Febuary of 2015, I was browsing through the forums of a boffer game I used to play in and came across a post made by Kgosi offering faun legs along with a special offer. I sent them an email expressing interest in the faun legs/special sale and had a couple questions about fursuit stuff because I had zero experience with fursuit stuff. Kgosi responded quickly, answered all my questions, and we agreed on a bi-color set of faun legs with resin hooves. Due to a small medical issue, Kgosi agreed to build the feet/hooves around a pair of boots I had and would install a hidden zipper in the back so I could easily take them on and off. I paid right away and sent out the DTD a couple days later. Kgosi lives about two to three hours from me, so the DTD arrived in no time at all. Progress on the legs apparently began only to hit a snag when the fur Kgosi bought over Etsy specifically for my faun legs was "destroyed in the mail." Kgosi was refunded, and progress resumed when they got new fur from somewhere else. I heard absolutely nothing from them until July of 2015 when I contacted them asking for an update. Kgosi responded, claiming a flood in their work area damaged the legs; however, the boots and DTD were in a tote at the time and thus survived, and they were already "half way done" the replacement set of legs which would be sent in about two weeks. Two weeks later, nothing. I sent Kgosi another email in August and received no reply. Eventually I made an account on FA and sent them a note that was read but never replied to. I sent another note later and once again, it was read and ignored. So I contacted them on Facebook and they finally replied, stating the legs had been sent in June. I showed them a screenshot of their email from July about the flood, and Kgosi replied saying they no longer had the emails so I forwarded the entire email thread. (Which is the blank email in the "Contact stops" screencap.) After some back and forth, they said they contacted their local post office and was told the package had been sent and was past reimbursement. So I asked for the tracking number and called my post office, and the helpful gentleman on the phone said the tracking number didn't exist. Remember how I said Kgosi lived about two to three hours away? I figured there was no way in hell a huge box going to a place a couple hours away would just vanish, and so I called the post office by Kgosi's known residence and was told the tracking number didn't work because it had "too many numbers." I sent Kgosi a final message on Facebook with this information and requested another tracking number, along with any evidence that these legs I bought actually once existed. The message was read and never responded to. During all the waiting, the fur mishap, the "flood", Kgosi was actively posting finished projects on their FA account. (Which lead me to believe I was being strung along the entire time because they post pictures of every piece of work they finish.) They originally had a Trello page with a list of their commissions and commission statuses, but it's been long since deleted. I do remember the list being pretty long, though. According to some messages left on their old FA account and their Facebook page, I'm not the only one who was waiting forever for work from them. I doubt I was the only one who paid to be scammed, either. I did try to contact Paypal like people suggested to do in my advice post, but I couldn't get through to an actual person and it was too late to get my money back at the time. More so now. I know this is all partially my fault as I let so much time pass between messages, updates, etc. and got snippy towards the end. I didn't ask for any WIP shots either. I had no idea how to handle a fursuit commission, but now I know better. Unfortunately, this experience has left me incredibly wary of fursuit makers.
  12. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/856511.html WHO: Eindraa, Iingo http://endraa.tumblr.com/ https://twitter.com/whitekens http://whitekens.weebly.com/ Where: http://iingo.deviantart.com/ What: Dec 2013 - Two Chibi Commissions May 2014 - Fullbody Commission When: December 2013 for the chibis and May 2014 for the fullbody. Proof: http://imgur.com/a/QsVKY Contains all the pertinent image files, but will be linking to singular ones in the post. Explain (This is a very long post, I apologize for that! There's a summary at the bottom): In November 2013, Iingo (then known as Eindraa) opened chibi commissions (http://i.imgur.com/9ts6BsT.png) to help with college tuition (http://i.imgur.com/JpKaptF.png). I purchased two chibi slots. (http://i.imgur.com/uvY0fMX.png) As can be seen, I also considered asking her to do some gijinkas of anthros (http://i.imgur.com/VER6i9n.png), but I decided not to do so in the end, and payment was discussed and sent. (http://i.imgur.com/72fN4vL.png) Months passed, Iingo was active on DA with large giveaways, interactive journals, features, and running groups. She also submitted art on a decently frequent enough basis, at least one piece a month, if not more. http://i.imgur.com/kuJMTCr.png http://i.imgur.com/wPGwSqP.png http://i.imgur.com/4DoWlTC.png http://i.imgur.com/LG4kuk7.png http://i.imgur.com/hN4BiCh.png http://i.imgur.com/xgmobjq.png In February of 2014 or so, she sent me a note asking for a new reference image of one of my characters for the chibi, as the dropbox link no longer worked. Nearly three months passed by before I replied, going by what I can find in my notes, and I am definitely to blame for the lengthiness in that situation. I replied in May 2014 with an updated link, and also asked for a fullbody commission, (http://i.imgur.com/Pgi170z.png) as I noticed she had opened some slots for them up(http://i.imgur.com/6aSuak5.png). She replied about two weeks later and I paid quickly after. (http://i.imgur.com/sLfKjk9.png) This would be the last contact for half a year. My name was never put down in the fullbody list. She continued being active during this period of time with more journals and artworks. http://i.imgur.com/hRm7jIc.png http://i.imgur.com/eVRJ9Bg.png http://i.imgur.com/ReLnE5I.png http://i.imgur.com/Z4LKTiY.png http://i.imgur.com/EdMxKi7.png (A commission was posted around a month later.) http://i.imgur.com/1L0sSsp.png http://i.imgur.com/qprg5bZ.png (Again, no contact made to me, and the only one from this list she finished a commission in decent time was Choubidubinette's, of which she owed two chibis to the customer it appears and would finish the last one months later) http://i.imgur.com/QPAUIuH.png (Was not done with commissions.) [Read More] To summarize: -I purchased 2 chibi commissions in December 2013 and a fullbody in May 2014. -She has never contacted me on her own (as in, not having a deadline enforced, angry customer, etc, of her own volition), except once in February 2014 to request I send her an updated character reference which I took nearly three months to reply to and apologize. -She has been fairly active this entire timespan with both art and journals and DA activity, only beginning to slow down somewhat in the beginning of 2015. -Took down her to-do list twice, and current one is incomplete. -Did not answer most of my notes asking for updates until I tried to enforce a deadline in February 2015. -She broke her deadlines twice. Claimed she would finish by the end of February or March. She did not, and when I contacted her again at the end of March, she promised two would be done in a week, something that proved to be inaccurate. -Does not listen to my concerns. Asked twice to be notified before working on the fullbody, that did not happen. I listed examples of the styles I wanted, no response was given and the finished chibis are in a wholly different style. -This does not truly pertain to me, but I have reason to believe she is ignoring others as well. Also, in late 2014, she said she would be nearly done with Tirekins' commission, but it would take her many months before she was actually done. The same occurred for Choubidoubinette's commissions and many others. Thank you for your time everyone. Updated 8/2/15: The situation has progressed some more since then. (http://i.imgur.com/xrpfLrX.png)(http://i.imgur.com/OQVvUPR.png) I ended up not replying to this note, it was clear we were in a disagreement over the situation and would not be able to reach a middle ground. I point out that it was actually three months and not four, and that she continued her lack of communication and updates throughout that process and the month-long reply was as earlier mentioned in this post, due to stress experienced from discussing the matter with her. In any case, this was my reply two weeks later, where I asked why she broke a deadline yet again: (http://i.imgur.com/1KK6les.png) Iingo replied: (http://i.imgur.com/lb217Wa.png) I sent a note back essentially thanking her for the reply. She finished the fullbody commission the next day! (http://i.imgur.com/ZF6umLQ.png) (http://i.imgur.com/QT4MjBT.png) I replied that I liked the one with the background: (http://i.imgur.com/xOetHO0.png) A few minutes later, Iingo posted the fullbody commission to her gallery: (http://i.imgur.com/pM60k4o.png) / http://iingo.deviantart.com/art/Full-Body-Commission-for-Vespisia-545980631 Again, this is the commission sample when I purchased a fullbody commission from her: (http://i.imgur.com/H7atwRi.png) I know styles change, especially with how long this situation has taken, but the two look different in not just style, but quality. To make sure I was not biased, I showed the pieces to others for comparison, and they agreed and noted that it looked like they were made by two different artists and I should ask for a partial refund. Which I did, I finally replied to her last night, having been silent from the hurt of receiving what to me, seemed like a subpar commission after she noted me the piece, which was unprofessional of me to do so. Here is the note I sent her last night at last: (http://i.imgur.com/VJi4utd.png) I thanked her for the piece and asked for a partial refund. Iingo would reply a few hours later with three notes: (http://i.imgur.com/SJedypc.png) (http://i.imgur.com/4qhW1h3.png) (http://i.imgur.com/6UVoOCW.png) I do not intend to reply to her notes. Again, no agreement can be made between us so there is no point. I am updating this beware to let everyone know what has progressed in the situation and I suppose it is resolved, somewhat. Because I got my commissions at last and partial refunds. However, my intention was really to warn people of her work ethic and behavior and in that regard, it is not resolved. Again, thank you for your time everyone.
  13. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/830804.html WHO: Thug on FA / Monsterites on tumblr / Monsterite on dA WHERE: I commissioned them on their FA account [ Thug ] but they seem to have abandoned it. They have accounts on dA ( Monsterite ) and on tumblr ( monsterites ) and weasyl ( thug ) WHAT: Digital bust of my character, 20 usd in value, to be completed in 2-5 weeks or so. WHEN: I commissioned them on 10th of October, and paid on the same date. I've not received any contact from them since 19th of November 2014 despite my attempts at contacting them and posts on tumblr stating they would be getting in touch with customers. Proof and explanation under cut. PROOF: Commission journal on FA: http://s20.postimg.org/xle6h2w3h/ab_2.png My note to them/them accepting my commission: http://s20.postimg.org/mxafi8m4d/ab_3.png Proof of payment: http://s20.postimg.org/gobbjfke5/ab_1.png Unread note on FA: http://s20.postimg.org/yi6tkq3gd/ab_4.png EXPLAIN: I commissioned thug on 10th of October for a bust; initially everything went well. The original turnaround time stated on the journal [x] was about weeks, but "may be as long as a month." I paid and began waiting. After a month I had not heard anything from them, not even a "this will take longer than expected", so I shoot them a pm: http://s20.postimg.org/jq23tdxj1/ab_7.png The note got read but I received no reply, so I sent them another PM a week later: http://s20.postimg.org/atrbpg6wt/ab_6.png This time they replied and told me they had a chaotic time real life, and told me they had a sketch for me and could work a stream. I declined this offer, because I too have a spotty schedule and from my understanding we also live on different time zones. They did not offer to show me the sketch and I didn't have the sense to ask it as I was under impression they'd already started and could finish it on a timely schedule, so this is my bad and I have no proof they have even started my artwork. On December 3rd I sent them another note where I simply asked if they could e-mail me instead of using notes on FA. This note is still unread and they have no recent activity on FA, leading me to believe they have abandoned the account. They gave me no other means of communication. Towards the mid/end of December I decided I would try and find the artist on other sites just to see if they were alright. I went to their tumblr and decided to see if they have finished and posted my artwork on tumblr and just forgotten to tell me (it would not be the first time this has happened to me) and found out they had posted this [x] promising to contact/refund everyone if they had not finished art by the 1st of Jan. Satisfied with this I decided to just wait. I received no contact from then on 1st of Jan, but decided to wait some time before contacting them, just in case. February came and I became a bit anxious over the fact they had not contacted me despite these several [x] post [x] on tumblr. I sent them an ask on tumblr [I have no proof of this as tumblr message system is really bad 😞 ] A few days later they had had activity on the site and I had received no reply or contact from them. I sent them a new ask, and also decided to go and check my PayPal receipt, and found their e-mail addresses. I sent them this e-mail to both of their addresses. It's been a month since and I have yet to receive a reply. I've sent one more ask to their tumblr, which has not been answered. I have no idea how to contact them -- I don't want to pressure them too much, but not receiving any kind of communication from them when they have repeatedly promised to contact customers is making me think they have forgotten about me, and even if they have not received any of my messages they still have my FA they could use to contact me. From what I understand their rl if pretty hectic at times, but I don't feel like this excuses the complete lack of communication. At this point I'd rather have a refund than the art, but if they have started the art already and would just contact me I would gladly take the art too. I had not problems waiting, but I do have problems with the utter lack of personal communication, posting on tumblr (which I don't follow) instead of directly contacting me and promising to contact people and then not contacting me. I have not been able to contact this artist for several months despite them being active, and since accepting commission I've only received one message from them. EDIT: Shortly after this post went live, the artist has contacted me and issued me a refund! The matter is now resolved.
  14. Mar. 25th, 2012 at 1:23 AM thaily WHO&WHERE: Xinnova2 on Furaffinity. WHAT: Digital character sheet. WHEN: Started December 22, officially terminated via full refund March 23. PROOF: - Complete exchange of notes in a text file. There's 11 pages, I'll write summary below. Also the links are borked because A. cut&paste from FA and B. I removed the sketches from my server because Xinnova need not access them anymore. - [NSFW, feral bits] Thumbnail of sketched character sheet. To provide proof that I did draw the commission and go to this point of near-completion. Forgive the size and watermark, I do not wish to provide this person with further images for his perusal. - Screenshot of full refund. SUMMARY: Customer doesn't know what he wants, or at the very least does not communicate this to the artist. Despite claiming that he is a writer and that this character sheet will "define me spiritually" he does not write a conclusive description of what he wants, hemming and hawing over what he wants and then becoming increasingly abusive when the artist indicates her boundaries in accordance with the TOS they agreed to. Upon a full refund the customer posts a harassing journal and he and his friends make libelous statements and insults, suggesting customer sue the artist and wishing physical harm on the artist. Upon completing another character sheet commission, Xinnova contacted me about getting a similar commission from me. I showed him my TOS which he said, and I quote "That's actually very reasonable" and "I will try not to make too many changes, if I do though I will pay the fee". We agreed on $100 for the sheet, half paid up front with a deadline of 6 months. The transaction started out pleasantly, though early on I realized I had to drag a description of the character I was supposed to draw out of this guy. I thought that he was just a little enthusiastic and disorganized and that I could work with him; I've worked with customers before who sort of knew what they wanted and helped them along to come to a satisfactory end result. No biggie. I thought. I told him to take a day to make a list of things he wanted instead of sending lots of separate notes, and when he sent notes asking me to add things after I had started (and shown him) sketches I didn't make a fuss and did. The trouble started when I showed him the third sketch; the first was a side view, he asked for changes (rounded the muzzle/added bandana/number of teats/placement of teats/size of paws/shape of tail-mouth) which I applied. Upon being shown the second sketch he approved the changes, asking if I could curve the horns back a bit more, which I did. He specifically complimented me on the revised tail-mouth; initially described as being shaped like a rose-bud that opens into a worm-like maw with teeth. I drew the closed tail mouth as a rose bud, with a bulb below the bud and the little green outer leaves. I told him I was checking off the side-view as approved and listed the remaining work, thinking we had a decent jump off point for the character design. He told me he was looking forward to the results. He asks if he can still add a necklace. I added the necklace in the fourth sketch. Upon being presented with the third sketch, he tells me the previously changed and approved muzzle "doesn't feel right at all". He also asks me to change the previously changed and approved closed tail-mouth design. I apply both of these changes. He asks me to match the size of the paws in the turn-around, which are already matched in size; I put the sketches side to side to ensure that they were, before I presented him with the sketch. So, I can't change it because the paws are already matched up. He asks me to change the teats/pouch, I apply this change. He tells me the cock has a knot; the cock is not shown, just the sheath. He did not ask for a cock, so I just drew the sheath. He says he has a sheath, which is great, because I drew a sheath. Again, can't change that. He tells me he wants the anus included from the view from below, except you wouldn't be able to see the anus from that angle, especially with the vagina mound in the way. So I can't change that because quite frankly, it would make it look like I don't know the proper placement of the anus, which he seems to believe. He "helpfully" tells me the anus "is located in the common area of the tail base". He tells me to mind the shape of the serpent heads, which is fine. It was a messy sketch but I'm quite familiar with ancient Egyptian art, that's not a problem. Current count of changes is 11 changes applied spread over 3 opportunities for Xinnova to provide feedback. On the 3 items I couldn't change I explained why I could not. I send him the fourth sketch, which includes close-ups of the genitalia, including a close-up of the anus in it's proper place. At this point, his unclear waffling on the muzzle and tail is some cause for concern for me and I tell him that this is his last batch of free revisions. I tell him to take his time in deciding what he wants to see changed and that if he wants more changes, he'll have to pay extra for the additional labor, as stated in my TOS which he agreed to. I had a feeling that otherwise, I was going to go back and forth on the muzzle and tail for a long time, if not on other parts as well if he suddenly disapproved of his previously approved changes. Keep in mind that he has currently paid $6,25 per element of the character sheet. As a professional, I can only spend so much time on a $6,25 sketch. He sends a short note, telling me he has 6 months? I set a 6 month deadline for my work, and we're already 3 months into it. But I didn't tell him he only had a day, just to take a day to think about it, since his other replies asking for changes were sent fairly quickly and then promptly disapproved of again next time 'round, I thought maybe he thought I was trying to rush things and that he didn't have time to think about it. I tell him he can take his time and give him some hints on how to put together clear reference material. I figured that, even if he could not find good images or couldn't "redline" the sketch, that he could write out something more detailed, as he lists himself as being a writer. This is where the transaction sours, in retrospect, pretty much beyond repair. I try and remain civil despite the fact he calls my experience and professionalism into question, tells me I should have done the research(?), that he only asked for a few small changes, that I refused to change things (but when prompted, doesn't tell me what I refused), that I'm not giving him opinions or options etc. I give him a play-by-play response telling him that he needs to tell me what he wants or else I can't draw it. I restate that I want him to take his time and tell me exactly what he wants so that I can change it and hopefully bring the transaction to a satisfactory conclusion. He goes on about how this commission is unique and he can't just describe it despite the fact that he is A. a writer, or says he is and B. he claims this character sheet will "define me spiritually". Despite the fact he is not an artist he tells me sketching is the easiest part of a commission and something about experience, which he doesn't have as an artist, so I don't even know where he was going with that; at this point I'm just confused and uncertain where this hostility is coming from. Stress and illness can only account for so much, I've never had a customer get angry before when I ask them what they want. But he feels like I'm cutting his head off by asking him what he wants so I can draw it for him. I initially read the note but don't reply, assuming that with time he'd send me the info I needed and we could get this business sorted. I try to go on with my day and do unrelated art, but I'm distracted and irritable and I realize that I was just waiting for the other passive aggressive shoe to drop. I wanted to bring the commission to a good conclusion, despite the brouhaha, but realized that in order to do so, I'd have to let him bully me into, essentially, work for peanuts. Well, smaller peanuts. Or the burnt, shriveled and stale bits of peanuts left in the bottom of the bag of peanuts. And that I would hate myself for it. So I terminated the transaction, as stated I am able to do in the TOS he agreed to. I even gave him a full refund. Then I told him that he could make no claim to the sketches, could not use them for anything and that I desired no further contact. I saw that he had read the note and he did not reply. I thought that would be the end of it and I was quite happy to leave it at that. That said, I still had a half-finished character sheet, which I own fully and was out about $50 of labor. Trying to recoup some of my losses I changed the design around to no longer resemble Xinnova's design (which according to him, I had failed to approximate anyway) and put it up as a pre-sketched character sheet/adoptable. AFTER I had removed all mention of Xinnova from my account, which was just in my commission list in my journals anyway. I did in no way refer, link or name him anywhere. To which [possibly NSFW, tame but feral bits]he promptly outed himself as the uncooperative and abusive customer in the very first comment. Notice his friends also joining in. I blocked them all. He then posts a harassing journal linking directly to my submission, breaking the Terms of Service of FurAffinity. When a moderator deletes his post and gives him a warning, he complains about how he was just defending his good name which would have never been jeopardized if he had dropped the matter when he was refunded. You'll notice the blatant discrepancies between his communication with me and what he tells his friends: That I was insulting and attacking him, that he only asked for 4-5 small changes and that I didn't do half, that I have "butchered" his name publicly, that he wasn't initially prepared to pay extra for additional labor in case he needed numerous changes and so forth. Interestingly, there's apparently 3-4 of his friends who filed Trouble Tickets about me/my pre-sketched commission, despite they were never even peripherally involved with this transaction. Harassment, name-calling, insults and the like ensue, all based on what little skewed information they had. Which brings us to this post. In conclusion: Do not work with this person. He doesn't know what he wants and gets angry when you don't either and refuse to do endless revisions until he makes up his mind, which might be never; he wants other people to define him spiritually, which is just never going to happen. It's not worth it and neither is the resulting abuse and libel he uses to whip his friends into an ignorant frenzy. Friends, whom I should add, who would also probably be best avoided if these statements are indicative of their true nature. I'll probably get more abuse and harassment for this post, but I honestly think it's worth it if I can save at least one other artist from this frustration and aggravation; You are better than this, do not work with him.
  15. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/976743.html WHO: Meesabeast (Aliases: Meesasbeasts, GhettoImmortal, and Bangarang360) WHERE: Commissioned at BLFC 2017 Telegram communications: @Bangarang360 FurAffinity: GhettoImmortal WHAT: Traditional Art ATC WHEN: BLFC 2017 (June 3/4, 2017) up until current (November 15th, 2017) EXPLAIN: I commissioned Meesa at BLFC for an inked ATC. Paid in cash. It was like $15 or something of that sort. In person, she had told me she would have it done at con, which was part of why I had commissioned her (I have issues with the post so it’s easier that way.) She was very polite and had me send her my references on Telegram. The next day (June 4th) I came to her table sometime and she told me she hadn’t been able to work on it yet. I told her I understood since I’ve been a dealer many times before and got that things can pile up and you’re busy speaking with people all day. She said she would try to have it done by the end of the day. I told her I could be in den after hours and such on telegram, attempting to be accommodating for her. I stopped by a final time at the end of the day and she had no progress. She told me she would have it done within in a couple weeks after the con and ship it out right after. Note: Everything past this point is recorded and posted in the proof section, I am merely giving my side on things in summary here now. You may skip this and go to the proof section to read everything yourself there. June 10th. She asked me for my address. I assumed that meant she was getting to it soon and it’d be sent out soon as well. (Proof here.) Over a month passed, so I checked in on things. (July 25th) She replied days later, suddenly with the finished product, then offering to color it for free. I know sometimes artists will offer extra work to make up for things when they know they messed up on service somehow and I wanted her to have that chance to either a) feel like she was making things right, or b) enjoy the art more if that was the only actual reason. I was very clear I have worries about the post and needed communication to make sure that I didn’t miss the piece in the mail. She said she’d let me know, and even promised it would have tracking. (Proof here.) I contact her again. It’s now September 9th. No response. (Proof here.) September 17th she suddenly produces the colored image and explains her laptop issues and that she’d have things sorted next week. I complimented the artwork, thanked her, had small chitchat. She asked for my address again so she could send it after scanning it. (Proof here.) Another month passes. I’ve heard nothing. The post had just damaged an expensive item so I was extremely worried at this point. I contacted her with my concerns offering to pay tracking and all that stuff. I had forgotten she had promised this to me. This was on October 20th. I received no response. (Proof here.) In my worries, I had to go find her other contacts as I had only been given her telegram. I rarely check FA, but find her FA via a shout on my page with the link to the scanned upload. Went to find her other information. Saw on her twitters she had been making fursuits while ignoring me, which was very disheartening. My anxiety levels peaked, so I had to breathe and wait on things. After being ignored for over a month now, I’d resolved to put my foot down about things. This was on November 10th. (Proof here.) I was extremely firm now, because I knew this was unacceptable behavior and something had to be said. November 11th. She happens to suddenly be able to reply in a timely manner, mere hours after my message, and is just rude and unprofessional. I responded, calling her out on her poor behavior and business ethics. (Proof here.) On November 15th, she sends me an image of a standard envelope that the artwork is in. She states that it’s out of her hands, throws a “have a nice life” and states if I respond she likely won’t even read it. There is no tracking, as she promised originally, and as I requested multiple times. She makes it clear she has no concern if it gets to me unscathed, or at all. (Proof here.) I responded back to notify her I would be setting up a warning about her due to her final nasty message, informing her I was blocking her, and was no longer concerned about the art. I honestly doubt I’ll see it. (Proof here.) I set up a small Twitter beware post, because I did not feel a full A_B posting was worth it at the time. Sure, she was unpleasant and rude, but not enough to push me into this ordeal. I’ve had to write A_B posts before and it’s stressing. I don’t like it. Most people never say anything, but I know these are important and it’s important to call people out on their poor ethics. Then I changed my mind when I was alerted to some tweets she made about the situation, which you can read below. (I was shown these by people who went to pre-block her to avoid business with her.) Cause uhm. Wow. Wow is all I can say. Tweet 1 / Tweet2 / Tweet 3 The fact she went off the rails so badly is super not-okay as a businessperson, especially when you’re criticized for giving poor service. I have been told she’s still been on about me, so I don’t see any hope in resolutions due to her aggressive and childish behavior. 17. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/929598.html WHO: Worms & Bones WHERE: Homepage: http://www.wormsandbones.com/ Deviantart: http://wormsandbones.deviantart.com/ WHAT: $600 CAD for a one-of-a-kind art doll based on a werewolf character of mine. WHEN: So arrangements for this commission first started back around late September, 2014, but confirmation happened in November 2015. Details were exchanged from February-March 2015. I paid in two installments. The first installment was March 10, 2015. References were provided on March 21. The second installment was paid on April 8, 2015. Provided below are screen shots of all the email exchanges we've had. What's important to note here is that I've had to email them sometimes two or three times in order to get a response, though to their credit they did always eventually respond. I sent the emails a week, sometimes two weeks, apart (in between months of waiting) as I was trying not to be worrisome. But conversely, I was becoming worried about the lack of communication. The first email I sent asking for an update was on June 3, 2015 with a followup on the 10th. I sent another inquiry on August 15, followed by another follow up on the 29th. I received a reply the following day. This pattern continues for some time, with me checking in every two to three or four months. I was unclear as to how long a commission was actually going to take as no where in their TOS does it state that they can take a year or longer to complete and at no point in the email exchange did they offer an ETA. I eventually became too anxious at their lack of communication and finally sent an email stating as such on December 7th basically expressing this anxiety and the concern over how long it was taking as I had received my previous customs from them in 2-5 months. I assumed that a commission to take maybe 8-9 in between customs and whatever else, especially since Worms & Bones have previously provided great customer care and a superior product. As requested, they did provide me with a rundown on events that was happening/had happened over the past few months to explain why it was taking so long. Up to this point I had only received one WIP (on Sept 1). I received a second Dec. 7, which was included in the response email I got after my inquiry about the length of time it was taking. Needless to say, communication hasn't really improved. It's still taking a week or more for them to respond to my emails. I've received only 3 WIPs emails. I last requested on update on Sept. 13 as well as a possible ETA. Their response was pretty much the same as their last update - still waiting on their caster and were going fur shopping since they didn't have the right kind. It is now Oct. 11 and I haven't heard anything else. Although I just recently noticed they have put up a warning in the Contact section of their website that they maybe slow to respond. So at least they tell you that now. PROOF: November 30-December 1, 2014 - First discussion of taking on the commission. Feb. 27, 2015 - Worms & Bones confirms that they can take on the commission. March 21 - More Details Exchanged. This screenshot also shows me confirming that I paid the invoice. March 10 - First installment paid. March 21 - Details Finalized. April 8 - They sent me the 2nd Invoice. April 8 - Final installment paid. June 3 and June 12- First inquiry emails sent. This screenshot shows their response on the 12. Aug 15, 29, 30 - Second inquiry email sent. This screenshot shows the exchange for that month. Sept. 1 - First WIP. They emailed ME this time. I was sure things were going to be moving forward finally but two months later... November 23 - 3rd Inquiry. Dec. 7th - 3rd Inquiry follow up. This shows the exchange between the two of us during that time. I should point out that their responses are professional and friendly, and they do acknowledge that their commissions take a long time to complete (like, over-a-year-long, I suppose) - information I really wish I had known beforehand. They also provided a 2nd WIP. Dec. 7th - My response to that last email (Couldn't fit all of it on the same screenshot.) Feb 10, 17 2016 - 4th inquiry sent about a detail on the WIPs. So far, so good with their response here. I was pleased that they just responded even if they didn't have a WIP to show me. April 23rd, May 5 - 5th inquiry. This screenshot shows the exchange from that time period. Also 3rd and last visual WIP. July 17, 20 - 6th inquiry and their response. Sept. 13, 19 2016 - Asked for another update and a possible ETA, but no mention of it in their response. I have yet to hear anything about more about the furs and today is Oct. 11. EXPLAIN: I really hesitated to post this beware because Worms & Bones have never been rude to me and do eventually reply to my emails, but their basic customer service could use some improvement. This Beware is mostly in regards to that. So, perhaps it was the fact that I received their customs pretty quickly, and that the previous transactions had been pretty straight forward and the exchange pretty quick. And perhaps that I had mentioned in at least two earlier emails that I would "wait forever" (though I seriously didn't think I'd be waiting for over a year for it). And maybe it feels like I've been waiting longer than I have because details were first set in 2014. I tend to wait a week or more before sending followup emails because I'm aware that people have lives and they apparently make customs for a living. Which brings me to the other part of my complaint; in between all these emails, with very little WIPs to show on my $600 commission, they've produced many more customs for other customers as well as literal armfuls of customs for sale at conventions and at least three personal projects. All of which you can see on their tumblr. Let me just say here that I am NOT upset that they've got personal projects but it's just that on top of all the other work they've done for other customers - even potential customers that haven't even paid them money yet - and I haven't even seen what my werewolf's feet look like with the dew claws attached and it's been over a year. I also don't think I should feel awful every time I send off an email asking them for an update. I feel like I'm harassing them every time I do. Furthermore, there is no mention on their website at how long commissions can take. The only thing it is mentioned is that they seldom accept commissions but no reason as to why. Which I guess isn't important, usually, but if it's a super long wait time, then I think it should be mentioned. So whether or not I receive my doll any time soon, I still think people should be aware of how long it will take to receive their product. At least they do now have a notice in their Contact Me section of their website stating that they are slow to respond to emails. They did not have this notice when I first commissioned them and I'm not sure when it appeared. I also want to point out that, and I'm sure it's easy to see in the screen shots, that they have been nothing but polite when we have communicated and I genuinely believe that they aren't doing this on purpose. I suppose this Beware is more a warning about the lack of information these artists provide regarding the process of their services, at least in regards to commissions. So if you get a custom from them, you probably don't have to worry about this happening to you, but beware if you ever manage to score a commission. Considering it's been almost a month since they went fur shopping, I'm really starting to doubt I'm going to get what I paid for. UPDATE: Worms and Bones has finished the commission, and although I have not received it physically yet, given their previous track record of successfully shipping out items, I have no doubts I will get it eventually. I deem this resolved! UPDATE: I have Autumn firmly in hand. As usual the quality is wonderful and it's very satisfying to finally have it here. As mentioned above, Worms & Bones are overall pretty good to work with. It's mostly just their communication skills that could use some improvement. And be prepared for a long wait - especially if you're commissioning them!
  18. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/872392.html WHO: Apocalypse ReFurred, Thysyrael WHERE: Facebook Apocalypse ReFurred page and via messages WHAT: A pair of resin/ polymorph pastic clawed hand paws and feet paws with promise of quick turn around by April 4th. WHEN: March 18th 2015. – Commission placed. March 22nd – Fur I supplied arrived at maker’s address. March 24th – Commission paid for in full. April 3rd – Photo of hand paws WIP received, April 4th – Original deadline. April 16th – Photo received of feet paws in ductape wrap, ready for furring. ( Several different life problems occurred for the artist, such as pet passing, theft etc. throughout the months. I can try to give specific dates for these if required) 6th September – After no updates, I ask again for one or for a partial refund and what’s been made to be sent to me so I can complete myself or resell. 7th September – Refunded and items sent to me 11th September – Items recieved PROOF: ( Me in purple, her in green) Facebook messages part 1 Facebook messages part 2 Paypal receipt Message mentioning the polymorph plastic I missed Items themselves; Overall paw shape ( My ref for character, notice the paws are more lizard or simian shaped) Animal hair 1, 2, 3 Unglued edges Hand paws Claws They look like Fimo to me EXPLAIN: Back in March, I was preparing for a convention on April 4th when I found that my fursuit feet and paws where in very rough condition from general use. I asked about on the UK Furry Facebook groups for a maker or someone seller paws and a maker came forward. I looked at their stuff and while they weren’t high end makers, their paws looked fine and they offered to complete it within the admittedly tight deadline. I already had some fur left over from when I tried to make the fursuit and we agreed for a lower price ( £80) if I sent this fur over. A day before the deadline ( April 4th ) I received a phone photo of the hand paws. They looked a little rough, but I assumed it was just the camera quality. I later received a photo of ductape covered feet paws. They looks a little odd and I asked if the tape was pulling the toes apart, giving them a wider look. She assured me they were fine so I continued with the commission a little apprehensive. Then a myriad of personal and family problems for the maker reared up, from a pet passing away, to a parent being very ill and then robbery. There were also problems with the dye not adhering to the resin claws that I’d asked for. She said she would contact the maker and complain. Every so often, I’d ask for updates and get told that there was a problem and she couldn’t send photos. After the April 4th deadline, I’d hoped that the paws would be ready for Confuzzled in May. No such luck, I ended up going suitless which was kinda sad. 7 months later, I was promised an update within 2 weeks. No update came and I was fed up. I asked for a partial refund ( as some of the commission was complete) and for what was made to be sent to me. She agreed and the £5 refund along with the unattached claws and paws where sent to me. The paws arrived quickly but in very poor condition, which I’ll detail in sections; Feet Paws – They are way too wide and off model, looking more like duck feet. There is glue blobs, holes between the fur and the sole, but the worse thing is the smell. They stink badly of dog so much that it’s as if the animal has sat on the foam or fur. I reported this to the maker ( as some of my family suffer from allergies), she explained that the fur and foam was kept away from the animals and the only way they’d smell is if she’d passed it on from petting the animals. However, there is white and brown animal fur on the paws as well as general fluff. This hair cannot be from when I supplied the fur as we have no pets. Hand Paws – very roughly made, though they are incomplete, they too are smelly. They also fit ill. Claws– These are not polymorph plastic, but instead hand sculpted Fimo clay and have finger prints and dirt in the clay. I googled the plastic, which appears to be a shiney, usually white product similar to glue gun glue. In the end, I am very disappointed. I don’t think I can even sell these items without thorough repair and cleaning. She seems to be a young maker and as such, isn’t very professional yet. Edit: Update 2/10/2015 I contacted the maker a couple of days ago about the animal fur with pictures. I asked her again if the animal had been in contact with the paws and she said the fur ( which is clearly animal with colouring and tapering... plus, y know, the stink!) was faux fur from another suit she was making.
  19. PLEASE NOTE: In any screen cap dated after April 4th 2019 I had moved and there is now a 5 hour time zone difference between she and I. (this means that it may seem like I am messaging very early, but for her it is 5 hours ahead of my time stamp.) I was directed to Tamsin (Tammy) via a friend from whom I was purchasing a fursuit head. I had wanted to commission matching hands/tail/arm sleeves in time for Confuzzled. Tammy and I discussed prices and materials and I agreed to pay once I got paid. (The total was 130 GBP which is about $160 USD). I paid promptly upon getting my pay check: After I sent the payment there was apparently a hold up in paypal where they wouldn't release the money to her until I marked the item as shipped with no tracking needed. I was concerned but did as she asked since I had no reason not to trust her. She specifically stated that she needed the money released so she could order the materials quicker. I had some issues come up and ended up not being able to go to CFZ (Confuzzled). Due to this I expressed that I did not need them finished by the con deadline. I was still under the impression that she had already ordered the materials because that was why she needed me to promptly release the funds into her account. After the con passed I didn't hear from her, so contacted her in order to set up a deadline. She expressed that it was a bit hard to do the deadline I suggested because of work/school. I tried to compromise and just prioritize the most important parts first. By June 14th I was starting to feel a bit ignored, as I would see them online and they would check my messages and not respond. The friend who had originally sent me to them (Cas as mentioned in screen shots) mentioned that there were some issues between the two of them at CFZ, and I became afraid that she wasn't communicating with me because of my friendship with Cas, as I had been told that she was answering other messages. I admit that my behavior was a bit pushy in these screen shots, but I have been burnt several times by fursuit builders and was feeling anxious. We agree here on a Halloween deadline and I express that I will make a new ref with the updates I had previously discussed. I make sure to mention that I absolutely must see some sort of work started in July, since they said they would probably start mid July, due to my paypal protection window. I am still fine with the Halloween completion deadline, but just need to see some sort of progress, or materials to show the project is in the works. They express they are stressed due to personal issues. Concerned that this commission is adding onto their stress, I offer to just take a refund in parts if they are no longer interested or have the motivation/time to work on the parts. At this point she starts to seem a bit aggressive, so I inquire as to her having purchased the materials in case we need to work out her shipping them to me and subtracting the cost of shipping/materials from a refund. I was told by our mutual friend that she didn't actually buy the materials, and so I requested pictures from her in order to just prove that she had bought the items needed, as that was the whole reason she asked me to release the funds, so that she could more swiftly buy the materials. At this point she makes excuses one after another on why she can't provide pictures. I give her a deadline on when I must see materials. I agree to a Wednesday deadline to see the materials that week and reiterate that she said she needed the funds to order materials promptly. At this point SHE offers the refund and expresses when her paydays are. I feel this was done because she had never bought the materials and knew she couldn't provide proof in the time frame requested. At this point I feel I am being scammed and lied to, so I agree to the refund and offer her the option of half and half payments on the 27th of each month. I leave her alone for the rest of the month until the 27th where I then message her and remind her of my email. I see her active all day and get no answer while our mutual friend confirms that she's been answering their messages. They finally respond and claim they were working and then go silent again. I get a bit snippy and let them know that I will just file a dispute if I don't get the half payment on the promised day. She finally makes time to attempt to pay me and then gets upset about paypal fees based on currency differences. I try to remedy this by adding GBP to my paypal options, but it still charges a fee, which I tell her I will cover. She sends the first half of the refund, I confirm I got it and then leave her alone until July 25th, where I just send a reminder of the email for the refund. After contacting on the 25th of July 2019, Tamsin expresses that she needs a bit of an extension on the payment time because she is at a con. I thank her for letting me know and leave her alone until the day that SHE set as the new payment day for the final half of the refund. I decided to send an invoice for the remainder to see if that would keep her from having to pay a fee on her end. She claims she can't pay and cancels the invoice. I express that I am not really wanting to wait longer, as I already extended the deadline to Monday (which was the day SHE asked for). I give in and ask her to give me a definite deadline on when she can pay. She ignores me and I wait till the next day (July 30th ) to message her again asking for a definite deadline again. She says she couldn't pay because she had bills. I express that I am unwilling to wait another month because I feel at this point she is jerking me around. (Our mutual has expressed that she' had been spending money on frivolous things, so I felt I was being jerked around and scammed.) She makes a snippy comment about "not relying on her as a source of income" and it really rubbed me the wrong way. I got extremely upset and rather argumentative, as I felt that her statement was in direct contrast to her own behavior, (taking my money and spending it at an event while not even purchasing my materials). Our conversation deteriorated quickly. She continues to claim she bought fur but cannot provide any proof (pictures, receipts, tracking on shipments, etc), and completely twists the situation to paint herself in a better light. (Claiming I wanted a refund because I was broke, when she was the one who chose a refund over just providing proof of the materials that she swears she has bought.) At this point I feel that I am being jerked around and that she has no intention of paying me at all, so I decide to take things to Paypal and open a dispute. I know due to me changing email addresses between payment to refund, that it will dispute for the full amount paid. My intention was to simply send her back the half she had refunded previously once Paypal handled the transaction if she was unwilling to work something out. She proceeds to completely go ballistic once the claim puts a hold on her account. She claims she was going to pay me aft 8 because she was waiting on our mutual friend to pay her for something. This is information that she NEVER once brought up until I filed a claim. She in fact explicitly stated that she didn't know when she'd be able to pay. I initially refuse to cancel the claim because I don't trust her at this point and know that she is a liar. I attempt to make arrangements for the mutual friend to just pay me directly but he can't, as he is doing a bank transfer to her instead of paypal. They claim they will send the money as soon as I cancel the claim and their account comes out of the negative. I make the mistake of trusting them because I am not out to hurt someone, just want what is owed me. Big mistake. I cancel the claim and she ghosts me completely. I send a couple of reminders and get nothing. Cas (the mutual) confirms later in the week that they already paid her, and I still am getting nothing from her, either messages or money. I decide to try to be nice and just leave her alone except to send a reminder on the 16th asking if I will get pair, then left her alone for the rest of August until the 27th and message her again to see if I can get this finished. As of now she has read the messages and still refuses to respond. She has been active on her Instagram (selling adopts primarily), but has failed to answer or send the money. In summary, she is a liar, a scammer, and a thief and I hope that no one else ever has to deal with her or falls for her lies. The below screen caps show her publicly available information / social media accounts so that hopefully others can avoid her.
  20. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/987533.html WHO: Adiago/Zero/Damien WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/adiago WHAT: Digital art WHEN: Paid for on December 17th, 2017 - current (No work completed on the piece at the time of writing this.) Explain: On December 17th, 2017, I purchased a piece of art from Adiago over voice in her Discord. The piece was supposed to be four other characters and myself. While I don't know how much the other people paid, I paid a lump sum of $195, which I know was the most out of the group. The money was for all of our characters to be in a Chinese New Years themed, cell shaded commission. Between purchasing my slot and writing this post, I have been blocked from all forms of communication by Adiago, and no WIPs or any updates have been given to me by her or any of her trusted contacts. The commission was added to her "To Do List" on February 1st, 2018. This is the only progress that has been made on it thus far. The date of writing this is March 14th, 2018. (Pictures below) A friend of mine went out of his way to contact Adiago directly, and the response I received in her Picarto stream was "tell Kat if he does a chargeback ill post him to artists beware. where thousands of people will see it." When someone in stream asked what this was about, she responded "someones trying to be a D-bag and if they do it ill ruin them and no one will ever draw for them again". These were posted publicly for all in her stream to see. (Pictures below) This is the first time I have ever decided to go through a charge back. I would have liked to work things out with the artist, but at this time the artist is refusing to speak with me. I have no way of contacting them myself, and at this point I just want to post this and be done with it. I am currently in the process of trying to get my money back, and writing this due to it being a bad experience. From my understanding, this is not the first time something like this has been written about the artist. I paid for work, the work was never finished, and now I want my money back. That's the short of it. Please note, all commission details were worked out in voice in Discord. Adiago and I had a good business relationship, and this is how most of our transactions took place. The only details of the commission are shown below in her "To Do List". EDIT: At this point, the chargeback has been completed, and Adiago has pushed this issue from a professional conflict to a personal one. Please see below for all the details. https://imgur.com/a/e5QDD This is to show that this is the only commission still sitting in her to do list. The artist is currently working on personal work in her stream. (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/UNQeR This picture shows that the commission was put on her "To Do List" on February 1st, 2018. While wanting to keep this strictly professional, I decided not to censor the Telegram link (Besides the names of both my boyfriend and another friend of mine for privacy reasons), because I would like people to understand how I was treated as not only a loyal follower, but a returning commissioner as well. (Links above) https://imgur.com/a/mFNYM This is the receipt for the Paypal transaction. This is to confirm that I did purchase this commission on December 17th, 2017. (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/t3pa1 This is her stating publicly in her stream what she intends to do with me charging back. Please look at the quotes "tell Kat if he does a chargeback ill post him to artists beware. where thousands of people will see it." and "someones trying to be a D-bag and if they do it ill ruin them and no one will ever draw for them again". (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/VPeJF This is Adiago's Terms of Service. As it states; "If at any point in the commission process I either find you intolerable or the commission is giving me a large amount of trouble, I will either offer or do a force refund. The final refund amount will be (Total amount-Work completed= Refund). Full refunds only given if I have not started and the commissioner is being problematic." In this situation, Adiago had not started my commission at this point, and had me blocked on all her places of contact. I can only assume at this point I am being found intolerable, and am entitled by her ToS to a full refund. (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/f4tg0 This is confirmation that the issue was resolved. I was originally going to let this conflict end here, since the claim has already been settled, but Adiago has escalated the issue even further past this point, and has taken the issue from a professional conflict to a personal one. (Linked above is the claim outcome) https://imgur.com/a/0l0g9 This is the image a friend of mine sent me. The time this was sent was 12:41AM on 3/18/2018. I didn't cross out my main account to show that it is in fact me she is targeting, and that I am not going on a witch hunt. This was posted after Paypal had come to a decision on the claim, and marked the issue as "resolved". https://imgur.com/a/uJPi0 This is extra proof to show that I am indeed a returning customer to Adiago. I have purchased more in the past, but throughout 2017 alone I had sent Adiago a total of $555, not including the $195 chargeback. This also shows that this is the only refund I have had to request from Paypal against this artist. As stated above, I originally wasn't even going to make this post, even with the way she was treating me. The Paypal claim was resolved, and I would have liked to wash my hands of it. Adiago has taken this issue out of the realm of professionalism and made it into something personal. I would like to make the community aware of this unprofessional behavior, and ask to please take caution when considering purchasing art from Adiago. This is the first issue I have ever had with the artist when it comes to buying art, but the situation has quickly escalated into something I would like to be no part of. Thank you for reading, and please be careful! If she is willing to treat returning commissioners like this, then there is no way to know how she will treat new commissioner too! Beware!
  21. This behavior is rather normal for Mr. Hoyt. Having worked with Inkedfur myself in the past, I experienced similar issues regarding undocumented sales and his lack of professionalism. I left IF about three years ago and have spoken about my experiences in the past, but I want to give a brief overview again as I feel Artist beware is a fitting place to comment on it. Back when Inkedfur was a brand new company, I applied to join and was quickly accepted. From day one, I had issues with the lack of professionalism in small ways that I overlooked at the time. Mostly how James addresses his artists and tries to be a bit too friendly and casual in what is meant to be a business relationship. I don’t personally approve of casual approaches to business because I take my own very seriously. Immediately after joining I noticed my sales were not lining up with customers claims of purchases and some even sent me visual proof of purchases that were never reflected in my sales figures in the artist portal. I again, gave it a pass because “it’s a new company and these are growing pains”. James and I did not have a great relationship at any point because I often would tell him I disapproved of his choices at times, such as using the company twitter to make and participate in call out posts, getting involved in fandom drama, etc. I politely told him that such things are best suited for his personal Twitter because he was effectively speaking on behalf of all of his artists when he did this and his response was very vitriolic and aggressive. He then proceeded to tell me I made him cry to guilt me into backing off; he did this on many occassions and I always found it to be manipulative. We constantly butt heads on these issues and between the failure to accurately report my sales for a YEAR and his attitude and demeanor, I was very close to leaving. One evening, in a telegram group chat in which many of IFs artists were present, there was a discussion about tags and content on the site. He and I specially were discussing a tag when he dropped that IF was selling cub artwork. This made many of us in the chat suddenly focus on this as we were unaware that CP was being sold along side our work and the fact it was never mentioned in the TOS and was not present on the site when we had joined. I personally had pressed the issue because it was extremely alarming to me and I did not want my work associated with that content. James blew up, accused me of calling him a pedophile, then posted a picture of a destroyed office insisting that I pushed him to damage his office. James ghosted for a while that evening and If staff were having private conversations with me to try and fix things. Meanwhile, James was threatening his own employees saying that if they spoke to me, they would be fired. I was also trying to speak with James myself, however he was being very avoidant and ended the evening with cutting me from the site, locking me out of my account and freezing any further pay outs to me. The interesting thing to note is that I was sent an email that said I was terminated from the company because of “insubordination” as if I were his employee. The notion that he views artists as his workers when his entire business is built on their backs rubs me the wrong way until this day. I planned on resigning from the company anyways after that debacle so in the end I was fine with the choice, however two years later, I was still never sent a final payout nor have I been given access to the account for sales figures ever again. Because of my butting head’s with him, the next day CP was formally removed from the site (however there is still questionable art on the site to this day such as pornographic art of characters who are canonlogically tweens such as inklings from the Splatoon series ). Upon leaving, James told me that he would either send me the remaining products or destroy them. I agreed that destroying them would be best (I did not want someone this unhinged having my address) and he stated it would be done. I also explicitly forbid any further sales of my work. I’d also like to add that, because of me, James would later add a rule retroactively for artists that states if they leave, they need to buy their remaining stock or forfeit it to Inkedfur to sell; a very entrapping rule for those who may not be able to afford a departure and given another large scandal relating to James criminal history with soliciting minors, this was stressful for many trying to leave. On top of that, James never gave any visual confirmation of stock in hand so it’s highly believable that he would continue to print new copies and claim it was old stock or demand more money from artists for stock that he’d make after he gave a false number to make leaving the company harder/more expensive out of spite. Fast forward to the next con and a client of mine sends me a photo of IF’s table with one of my prints for sale. I immediately issued a Cease and Desist letter to Inkedfur and threatened legal action ; that was the last time I contacted them. I am not the only artist who had had this happen, as others who have left (and even bought out their stock) have had issues with James continuing to sell their products without permission. I have heard many horror stories from artists who have worked with this company, however their stories are not mine to tell and I hope they come forward to this thread to share. I’d also like to mention that I have visual documentation of everything mentioned here and have securely held onto it for the full three years since I departed from the company and would be alright sharing it if necessary. James Hoyt is a dangerous, unstable individual who is a threat to minors and mistreats his artists severely. I won’t go too far into his criminal past here as it’s not entirely relevant, however when it became known, many artists tried to leave and he did his best to spite them and make the transition as painful as possible. I’d also like to mention that James has ties to Alt Right groups that came out en masse to attack me when I spoke against his business and criminal past on twitter and also want to caution people to tread lightly if they have to deal with him. From sending me threatening pictures of a destroyed office to gathering alt right groups to attack me, I can say that I am glad to be away from him and I am so sorry others have had to suffer under him as well.
  22. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/939896.html Who: Vani / VanillaKitsune / @ashketchumsays / stripesandteeth Where: Twitter When: Commissioned them June 15th, 2016 I commissioned Vani on their Twitter back in June when they were taking a lot of sketch commissions there. I bought two sketches and received initial passes pretty quickly, but since then it’s been very difficult to get in contact with them much less get an update. Break down of events and screen caps below cut. All screen caps are in the Dropbox folder below, and are numbered to be chronological, except for the proof of payment which is the first document. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gnsxt1by8i2dmvk/AAAON_cgjDhnjltT0I8dFCHma?dl=0 June: -6/15/16: I DMed Vani on Twitter like their post said to do, and gave them references and paid promptly. I paid for two 11x14 sketch with shipping, but was later asked to pay for shipping again. -6/26/16: I received preliminary sketches that were very rough and I approved them. I was excited to see progress so soon and was told they’d be finished promptly. -6/29/16: A few days later I received a long DM from Vani saying that they would be attending AX and couldn’t finish the sketches before then. As an artist that sells at cons, I understood and told them not to worry. Afterwards I didn’t hear anything until August. August: -8/14/16: I DMed Vani to check in and ask how the sketches were going and again received a long DM, explaining that things were rough but on an upswing. I trusted they’d work on commissions when they were able and left them to it until November when I saw they were going to MFF. November: -11/28/16: I DMed Vani again after I saw they were going to MFF and tabling there as well. I asked if I could pick up my sketches at the con and they said they would have them ready for me. I ended up not being able to get away from my table the entire weekend and messaged them when I got home. December: -12/5/16: I DMed Vani again apologizing that I couldn’t get to their table to pick up my sketches. At this point, I have not seen the finished sketches and have no reason to believe that the sketches have actually been completed and would have even been available for pickup. Vani tells me they can mail my sketches, and asked me to send $6. I promptly paid, completely forgetting that I had already paid for shipping initially. -12/30/16: Vani posts a 10 page google document explaining their year and the struggles they’ve been through. I read the whole thing, and only gathered that they were stressed from taking too many commissions in between moving a lot and having financial struggles. They clearly state that they can’t deal with the stress of being contacted by customers, which admittedly upset me. January: -1/7/17: At this point unaware of their post, I DM Vani one last time asking if they had mailed the sketches. I didn’t receive a response, so I publicly tweeted at them. -1/11/17: I tweeted asking if they had shipped the sketches, received a reply from a random third party directing me to the 10 page manifesto. After reading the whole thing I e-mailed Vani like they requested and tried to pick up where we left off on Twitter. -1/25/17: No response to my e-mail, so I send another asking if they had received it. At this point I am not expecting a reply. Speaking as an artist, I have been through similar situations that Vani has gone through. I’ve been in very tight spots financially and been forced to move and scramble to find housing. I honestly don’t mind waiting for artwork so long as the artist is able to clearly communicate delays and issues just as I would with my customers. Vani very clearly can’t handle custom work but continues to take more and put themselves into this situation. They are now putting the blame of their anxieties and shortcomings on their customers who are simply asking when they can expect their artwork. I’m incredibly disappointed and honestly even if I were to receive a refund or the finished artwork I couldn’t in good conscience recommend anyone work with Vani.

I covered the full cost of refunds in art myself, leaving me out of pocket for their half - $115USD for four commissions (3 at a full price of $50 and one at $30). A 5th commission with a mutual friend was also refunded for my half. Difficulties trying to get their half of the refunds back from them throughout last year follow. WHEN: Aschenblute and I originally posted the commission journals on our furaffinity accounts on March 31st 2015. Asked if I should refund clients on 22nd November 2015. Confirmed amount owed on 31st January 2016. Numerous emails requesting payment sent July 2016-November 2016, largely without response. When this started, Asche was a good friend and roommate. Despite them having a backlog of commissions already, we decided to do collab commissions through a forum we were both members of at the time. The tasks we enjoyed corresponded well - I liked sketching and colouring; they liked lining and shading. We completed the first lot in addition to two adoptables without issue, except for one client who wasn’t sure about subject matter and was to get back to us. Since the first batch went well, we opened a second lot through FurAffinity and filled up the slots as of March 31st 2015. (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6621441/) I completed the sketches for all the pieces within a couple of weeks and had sent them all to Asche for lining. We split up the money as it came in 50/50. Half a year later, my Canadian Visa ran out and I had to move back to Australia. Without going into too much detail, my relationship with Asche also became rocky. In November 2015, due to the length of time since we’d taken the commissions (8 months) and the state of our personal relationship, I asked about giving refunds for the collab commissions since no progress had been made since my sketches. Asche approved the refund idea but didn’t help with any of the organization, and as far as I’m aware never contacted anyone themselves. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/tdcrriy5mmx1142/artistsbeware1.png?dl=0) I responded but didn't hear from them beyond this. Worried about my own reputation, I went ahead and contacted the commissioners. I apologized and offered to cover everything myself in full. I sent the sketches and asked each client if they'd prefer a monetary refund or art by me of the same value they'd paid originally (reminder: I only saw half that money in the first place). Everyone except a mutual friend (who I refunded with my half, and they were to talk to Asche about the rest) said they'd prefer art. These were all completed within a few weeks, and I'm very appreciative to all the commissioners and the positive feedback they gave despite the wait. Also during this contact, one commissioner told me they had previously attempted to contact Asche about this and other commissions Asche owed them. I had never been informed of this by Asche. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/eprp8mlkq7oepgr/artistsbeware8.png?dl=0) A couple of months after everything was done (31st January 2016), I sent Asche an email listing what they owed me for covering their half of the refunds (in USD), as well as money owed for some unrelated costs (in CAD, raised here only in regards to layout of payment schedules and methods Asche used to contact me). They hadn’t done any work on the commissions but were still paid half for them. I was surprised when they actually responded. They apologised for dumping all of it on me, said they wanted to be friends, and that they would pay me back but couldn't immediately as they didn't have a job. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/2fv6nh9qfob8ye4/artistsbeware2.png?dl=0) I replied saying ok, that I'd give them a couple of months to pay it. In the following months we became friends again, and they got a new job, but I didn't ask after the money as I knew they were moving. Asche brought it up once in a brief apology and followed by saying they should sort out refunds for other commissions taken 1-2 years prior. A couple of months after getting their job/moving, my contact with Asche became very limited and strained again. In July, communication was cut, and I sent an email asking for the money. They didn't respond. Over the next couple of months I sent more emails with no response until I told them that if I didn't receive a response in a week I would be posting here on AB. They sent me a partial payment for the unrelated costs through paypal on August 21st 2016 with a brief note in the payment details saying that they would be paying in intervals every 2 weeks. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/hk3shcpp9ja87at/artistsbeware3.png?dl=0 + https://www.dropbox.com/s/shvar7fscdljdvd/artistsbeware4.png?dl=0) When 4 weeks had passed since this with no further payment or contact, I sent an email asking for an update (21st Sep 2016). No reply. I sent another email a week later, and finally received an email telling me money was tight (27th Oct 2016). I requested dates for when I would be paid back. They said the remainder of the money for the unrelated costs would be settled by the end of 2016, with the full amount of their commission refund costs by the end of February 2017 (since the money for refunds is to be in USD, the currency the commissions were originally taken in, “because of the conversion rates” they would take longer). They also confirmed they would update me if this changed. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/y7pihv5r2561v40/artistsbeware5.png?dl=0) They sent another partial payment for the unrelated costs on Nov 12 with no further communication attached. As per the second schedule they set out, the unrelated payments should currently be complete and so the payments for the art refunds started - by the first schedule the commission refunds should be long paid for. But I've received no payments or contact since, and payment for the commission refunds has yet to start a year after Asche was give the final figure. My last attempted contact was asking for an update on Jan 13th 2017, with nothing back.
  24. May. 1st, 2012 at 3:10 AM fenrirs_child WHO: Flarveon WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/flarveon/ but purchase happened on FursuitAuctions here on LJ WHAT: Fur purchase WHEN: Purchased March 9th/10th, Paypal forced refund went through yesterday. PROOF: Purchased from this posting: http://fursuitauctions.livejournal.com/2417221.html (post is too long to capture on my computer, but here is my purchase agreement http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/2488/tneonorange001129.png ) Paypal record (including forced refund) http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9485/flarveonpaypalredacted.png EXPLAIN: I saw Flarveon's posting on FursuitAuctions for some neat furs from NZ, and I picked a few out and promptly sent payment. Initially, due to the large response, she said she would pick the furs up from the store on Thursday or Friday her time, and mail them out same day or Monday. I didn't hear anything back, so I sent her a message on LJ that I didn't receive a reply to, so I noted her on her FA on the 19th. I got a response back right away, saying she'd been delayed and she'd be going on Wednesday. http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/408/firstnotecolors.png (I am red, she is blue) I believe I went to note her after this time, and her profile said at the top not to note her, so I believe I made a shout instead. I can't seem to find my screencap of the shouts I made though. Well, after I did that she made another posting on fursuitauctions updating everyone that she would be going on Monday http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7953/fursuitauctions001241.png <-second from bottom post). I didn't hear anything from her, so I commented on that post on the 27th asking for an update. That went ignored. http://fursuitauctions.livejournal.com/2435651.html#comments I also made a shout on her page. I don't have her page, but I do have the reply shouts she made on mine from my control panel http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/1616/usercontrolpanelfuraffi.png So, she said she picked them up, and couldn't get to the post office. Well, didn't hear anything again, so I believe I made another shout, which prompted her to make another post on Fursuitauctions she's going to pick it up on Wednesday http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/7953/fursuitauctions001241.png top post I commented on that post on the 10th asking for an update, no response. On the 11th, I got some shouts saying she had gone to pick up the fur, but there was an earthquake, so she would refund instead and was transferring money to her paypal (as seen in above link of shouts). I didn't hear anything for a few days, and it came to the end of the window for dispute, so I filed for it and sent the rest of the people who had purchased furs on that post a heads up that the dispute window was closing. After myself and another person filed our disputes, she posted this on FursuitAuctions http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/5968/fursuitauctions024900.png so I noted her http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/5913/flarveonnotecolors.png (I'm red, she's blue). She says she will respond asap, but this is the last communication I received at all from her. I gave the dispute 4 days for a response, and I know she had internet because she commented on plenty of stuff in the meantime. I escalated the dispute to a claim, and at no point during the ten day period for seller response did she respond, so Paypal pushed my refund through. I'm grateful for that at least, but this whole ordeal was unpleasant to say the least. Any sort of update had to be prompted by me, sometimes through several methods of communication. I got told at least three different stories about the fur being picked up when it hadn't been, and by not responding in any way to the dispute/claim she made this drag out as long as possible. I'm sympathetic to the earthquake situation, but it has to be said if she had gone and done this at any point in the preceding month (what was it, three times she had said she'd go, or four?) the earthquake would have had no bearing on this transaction whatsoever.
  25. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/826160.html EDIT: i've been refunded. they contacted me saying they lost my refs, but i asked for a refund instead which they gave me- this can be marked as resolved! --- WHO: http://827772.deviantart.com/ WHERE: http://827772.deviantart.com/ they also have a twitter that is listed publically on their deviantart account profile which is how i've been contacting them since their hiatus: https://twitter.com/taraopta even though my twitter was set to protected and currently is set as such, they do have my deviantart account to send me my art/or reply, and as stated in the explain portion, i did change my twitter from being protected for several days in waiting for a reply, giving them a chance to. WHAT: a couples fullbody image that ended up being $28. i split the payment with a friend but handled the transaction by myself. WHEN: i ordered the commission october 10th 2014, and i contacted her over twitter in january 20th 2015 after noticing there was a hiatus status on their deviantart, and have been in the dark since the beginning of february waiting for some sort of response. PROOF: payment: http://i.imgur.com/aAi6tQa.png attempted dispute: http://i.imgur.com/BPBI9fV.png someone told me i should dispute it even though it'd be automatically closed for paypal's records if i need to take this to the business bureau. EXPLAIN: on october 10th i commissioned a couples fullbody from them, this is the entirely of my note of our back and forths with confirmation of payment sent. when i commissioned her, i was under the impression that even though she has more than 3 people ahead of me, that 'i'll start as soon as i'm paid' meant maybe she wasn't working fully in order like it shows on her profile, and i was in no rush either way because i've had pleasant commissioning experiences with them before. sometime in mid/late january i was prompted by the friend the commission was initially split between, saying it had been a long time since commissioning and i agreed. i looked at their deviantart and saw 'hiatus' on their da profile, but they never let any of the commissioners know, either through notes or a journal about this hiatus. of course, classes were starting back up, but a headsup would've been nice since at this point i had already been waiting 3-ish months, i hadn't really noticed but i decided to try twitter since i was most active there vs. tumblr, and 82772 seemed active there as well and it just felt like a better alternative to try. so, i sent her a tweet and we talked back and forth. i was okay with waiting a week for the art i was patient and actually had hope they'd get it done. i waited, and waited... and waited... and then before i knew it, it had been almost 3 weeks (making it almost 5 months of a wait and a lack of communication). at the time i had gone private on twitter but occasionally went on and off private specifically to message them and gave it a day or two not on private while they were still active, and not responding. honestly, i would've been direct messaging them but it's something you can only do with people that follow you back mutually, so i had to do this and i did maybe like? 2 times tops throughout the 3 weeks i was waiting for my art as to not be pushy but i was also growing frustrated. they were quick to respond to that tweet on january 20th, so i don't understand why they decided not to with the ones i sent afterwards after the start of february, especially when they're constantly posting to twitter and there's no way they're not seeing my tweets to them. so, i'm under the impression they're ignoring me and i have sent them a tweet stating if they didn't reply in a week i would be posting this. so.. here we are, this is pretty much a last resort since i've given them enough time to even respond to me. i would prefer the money over the art since i could use it for someone more reliable... honestly, i'm not sure i'm going to try and fight $28 as it may be more stress than it's worth, but i am disappointed because it was supposed to be for myself and a friend and i've commissioned her before and recieved my art promptly though that was in the summer and they probably weren't as busy as they may be now, but that's really no excuse. i don't understand why this is such a problem, but i don't think i'll be commissioning them in the future if this is how it's gonna go with trying to communicate.
