About Me

  1. Camy, I personally agree. It's been a long time coming. The fact that a lot of people are beyond upset should've been the first red flag that people will speak out. Honestly...I'm personally surprised that no other Beware was made public about her until now (a few others were floating around, but weren't really "official")
  2. Absolutely ludicrous to leave a paying client, who has already given the necessarily payment asked for, to wait literal years. I really hope they refund instead of rushing out a poor quality product. Too many suit makers just blindly rush it when they are put on the spot.
  3. July 4 2018 Tolwulf posts an advertisement on a unofficial Anthrocon Telegram page for badges to be completed and picked up on Friday, July 6 2018 Following this advertisement, I replied asking for a badge upon landing at the airport in Pittsburgh. Payment email had been sent, and they received the amount of 30 USD. An invite link was provided to a group chat where progress on the badges would be delivered to those who commissioned him. July 7-8, 2018 An update on badge progress was requested. He replies that it will be completed by Sunday at the latest. July 9, 2018 No progress had been made in regards to the badge. In a face-to-face conversation, he mentions the badges will be shipped out post-con. This was later confirmed in the aforementioned group chat. August 7, 2018 TolWulf sends some messages explaining how he's been busy and is currently working on the badges. I reply back. There was no reply for several more weeks. October 15, 2018 The artist reiterates that he's busy, and adds that line work has been done for the badge. I ask for WIP pics to see if there is any truth to this statement. November 2, 2018 After asking once again for an update, and mentioning the possibility of requesting a refund, TolWulf replies once again, and no WIP has been provided, claiming they are currently busy with other work. I inquire about a potential deadline. November 28, 2018 Following a brief conversation regarding MFF, TolWulf replies saying he currently has completed the badge and mailed it and the other incomplete badges to the Hyatt (no idea why he did this). He says he will send pics of the completed work upon arrival to the hotel. He continues by saying he will ship the badge from MFF. I mention I will send him my Canadian home address when I see the completed badge. January 15 2018 No updates have been given. I give a final warning. As of today (February 16. 2019), the message has still been left unread. To sum all of this up, there has been a lack of prompt communication with the artist. If at any point there was a reply, TolWulf would continuously claim that work had been done, but not provide any evidence to show for it. A dispute has been filed with PayPal, but was instantly denied, given the claim was made 180 days past the transaction date, leaving me short of a refund and no foreseeable badge in sight. I will post any updates when and if I hear back from the artist.
  4. Sad that it went over the 180 days. There's not much that can be done to get your money back now that that's out the window. Never a good sign when the artist can't show pics of completed work.
  5. Chesta posted a new journal to her FA a few minutes ago, stating she's taken on too much work, she will refund some current commissioners, she'll work to not end up with such a massive queue in the future. I... will believe that if and when it happens. Admitting there's an issue is a good first step, though. [Not sure if linking the journal would be okay? I can link it in another comment if mods say it's okay. It does bring up a bit of personal stuff, though I suppose I could screencap and edit out the personal bits so it's only business-focused?]
  6. Wow, so unprofessional. I looked at her art gallery and she seems to be constantly taking on new work and making excuses. If she is as mentally exhausted and overwhelmed as she claims, she should just refund people. Her journals come across as very guilt trippy when she starts mentioning domestic abuse and her kid's behavioral problems. She needs to stop getting personal with her customers, take some responsibility, and figure out a plan to make things right.
  7. Oh so now she is getting mad at YOU for something SHE did? The audacity to even dare get in a huff for her poor lack of proper business management being made publuc is HIGHLY unprofessional. If she did what she was supposed to do, she wouldn't be having peoole call her out on it ajd make public bewares not to commission her unless they want to be scammed. Plus this isnt her only beware about her. I've seen at least 2 others. Can you provide a copy of her message for us in the beware as well please??

    Beware: Nycket

Nycket had a history of ghosting and returning out of nowhere for a little while, then ghosting again when it came time to pay up in owed art. I saw many of the same practices described here.
  9. I'm glad you finally decided to post this here, their actions are completely unprofessional, scamming many people out of money and then in the end trying to pin the blame on you for giving good advice how to fix their mess when instead they decided to just run away with the money. It absolutely boils my blood.
  10. No, I agree. In hindsight I let my emotions get the better of me. I have other artists that have scammed me but Dirt-Chomp sticks simply because she's taking commissions and uploading to tumblr. It is infuriating and she's had an artist beware previously and had it resolved. I guess I just waited too late to get mine out there.
  11. Since watching Dirt-chomp on FA I've purchased 6 busts for $10 each prior to this debacle and everything has been great. The quality of the work and timely manner had me coming back to purchase a YCH and a discount couples bust in July 2013. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10891605/ http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4868235/#cid:34960083 Month by month passed and I didn't bother reminding her until march 14th the next year. No reply. Tried her DA account at the same time. No reply. Tumblr account. No reply. At this point I simply gave up until I found her twitter and twitch handle. Joined a stream and at the mention of my name she shut the stream down. Someone sent me a link to her tumblr account and once again, no reply. At this point I gave up until I found their twitter and twitch handle. Found her streaming in twitch and tried talking to her there but the moment I mentioned my name she shut the stream down. I also messaged her on twitch. I found her on Instagram and posted on her latest submission that I've been trying to get in contact with her and at this point, I was pretty darn frustrated being 5 years and $105 usd out of pocket so I threatened to take it to artist beware. Needless to say she deleted my comments. While waiting for my art she has been actively taking in commissions from other people and doing works for them as you can see on twitter and Instagram as well as tumblr for some older stuff. As a last ditch effort I also contacted the studio where she works at. 12. On the 29th of March 2018, Wardenz07 requested a commission. He asked me to make a 20K word story about a man who ends up in a rubber funhouse game show, and must escape from various inflatable obstacles. I accepted the commission and we eventually agreed upon $95.00, if I remember correctly. At first, he said that he would pay me half up front, but I waited to ask for the deposit until I was halfway done. When I finished the first half, he said that he was drunk when he wrote that, and that he would pay me once I was finished with the full story. I continued to write the story and I kept him updated and sent drafts of what I had so far. He sent me a lot of messages checking with me every so often. Once I finished, he said he would pay me after it was published. That never happened. I kept checking in with him on the status of the payment, and he kept putting it off. I named the commission The Rubber Funhouse Escape and I posted it in three parts. Part 1https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27163967/, Part 2 https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27681276/, Part 3 https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27986909/. Finally, when I asked him if he had the money to begin with, he said, and I quote, "No I did buy stuff just happened that’s all sorry" That was the last message I got from him before he stopped responding to me entirely. I kept checking in with him regardless, I even offered a payment plan so he could pay me little by little, instead he blocked me. He never complained about what was in the story, or claim that I didn't meet his specifications. Rather he constantly sent me excuses to stall until I finally finished his order. The fact that I never got paid isn't the biggest problem; I felt betrayed since I trusted him. I have a bunch of the messages that he wrote attached here. I can provide more if necessary. I tried posting to an "artist beware" site before, however I did not understand its interface and I eventually gave up. Recently, another writer on Furaffinity reached out to me about Wardenz07 asking about my experience with him. After informing him about what had happened with the user, he directed me to artistsbeware.info. In writing this I hope that Wardenz07 will not be able to hurt anyone again, and hopefully the next artist who works for Wardenz07 will get paid for their hard work.
  13. Sounds like someone to avoid. Bad communication and inappropriate behavior ("I thought you didn't like me. I always wanted to be your friend.") and a lot of angry customers on her FA page. Also way too much personal information on journals about all her problems. I think she should have issued refunds if she was so stressed out.
  14. I wish i had saw this before buying a base from them. Two months now and no shipment. Their customer service and communication is horrible. The base i bought is PREMADE too, all they have to do is mail it out. Last week they gave me an excuse that their tire went flat. Still no sign of my base....
  15. If they're out of the 180 day time frame, then their only recourse is legal action. With that said, winning a judgement against someone doesn't mean they'll actually pay. ?
  16. Alright, I'm not going to beat around the bush here. This guy, NeonGlowHusky, or Sun_Burnt_Wolf as he's now known as, He claims adoptables, but then when it comes time to pay up, he has to put it off for another date. Not only this, but he couldn't make up his mind. He's blown up my PM's with either, "NSFW on." Or "Clean only." It was July 13th, and he said he would pay me for some adoptables on the 27th, which is when he would get his next payday. (Totally fine with me.) {... I totally forgot this place had existed, and didn't save the quote...} When it was the 27th, he tells me he will pay on the 10th of August. Why? Oh simply because he had bills, and other adoptables. ... (TBH, I would've been fine with the honest, i had bills. But the adoptable thing? No.) I was trying to be nice to the guy, and sound understanding as possible. (Pictures are attached) I tell him that I won't start until I am paid. He said that was fine. And then, I ask a couple days later if we were still on for the 10th of August. He tells me we are still on. (Cool cool, right?) And he buys a small 6$ adoptable from me, with a gender swap. So. I do the edit for him. And THEN AGAIN, he changes the date, to a LATER one. Why did he do it this time? Simply because he THEN owed someone 50$ At that point, I was done. Fed up. I was tired of the run around. I was tired of empty "Promises." I gave him a piece of my mind. (In a kind way of course!) At a later point, he buys a 10$ adoptable. (Pretty good.) And then, he tries to buy MORE adoptables. (i'm all for having my adoptables bought, but don't ask for an adopt if you don't have the funds!) The adoptable total was going to be 70$. He asked to drop one of the adoptables, and grab the other two. (Totally fine with me!) And then.. He gives me this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8852160/ And he needed them on hold until September 21st. That was all fine and dandy until I needed my bus pass for college. So. I told him that I couldn't hold them. About... I wanna say a week later, he notes me this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8852430/ and he pays me the next day later. ? And then about another week or two later, he tells me he can't pay me for another adoptable he claimed from me because of a car crash. (... I know this is serious, but... At this point with him, I can't really believe anything he tells me.) I go to one of the people he's commissioned, and asked them if he's ever cancelled more than once. And they said yes. To make things worse, he's trying to sell his old sona, and move to a new account. I got curious and looked at his journals. One of them stood out to me. This one: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8933574/ So, to all you adoptable makers, or artists, PLEASE do not sell to him. He will not pay/or will keep you on hold until the next year. (If he does, he will pay when HE'S ready.)
  17. She shouldn't have spent the commissioner's money before doing the work. I dislike how she makes excuses and her twitter doesn't seem very professional. When I look through it I see opening for commissions on top of work she already owes, ranting about how a charge back prevents her from shipping Etsy items out, saying she misplaced her list and can't remember who her customers are, and some guy complaining about how the items he received were poor quality. She does not seem like a good person to do business with. .
  18. Gosh, that's awful.. Sorry to hear you weren't able to get a real refund from him. Had I known he and Teahound were the same person, I wouldn't have commissioned, but he changes handles so frequently, it's hard to keep up! I hope someday he'll stop cheating others out of their hard-earned money.
  19. I'm sorry you got burned by him. He's, unfortunately, a repeat offender that goes back years. He burned me for a $30 story commission years ago, and I had to drag repayment out of him in the form of Flight Rising currency because I wasn't going to get cash back. His MO is to ignore you until you forget.
  20. Thanks for replying, Smu. I also wanted to clarify a few things; Yes, I did receive my corrected art piece today shortly after I was messaged regarding my Beware post itself via FurAffinity. The issue here for me as a customer was not that you forgot to correct it, it was how I was treated to begin with. Regardless of the technical error, I felt that the blame for the mistakes were on me for my "poor quality" reference when all could have been avoided if you had asked me for another file or image since that one wasn't easy to use. The response I was given was very harsh and made me want to avoid further communication. I was not given a time frame for the correction and I was honestly nervous to bother you again. I cut my losses and moved on. I also wanted to state that I did reply to you and I was the one to reach out about the mistakes. The last reply I had received from you is above about how you'd fix the image when you could get to it. I responded and thanked you, stated I've never had that issue before, and left it open to discussion, but you never continued. That said, I understand life gets in the way; I do appreciate you contacting me, apologizing, and fixing my art piece.
  21. Yes I did open a dispute through paypal, but i fear that i may have shot myself in the foot due to choosing the "report unauthorised access my account" option instead of "i received an item that wasn't as described" option. Before you ask, I opened it, enraged, after initially finding out that I had wasted £50 on what is essentially a "knock off Picasso". I have recently sent an eail enquiring about how to report an artist to the sites owners and i'm currently waiting on their reply.
  22. ryai1 (ryai1) wrote in artists_beware, @ 2019-01-12 21:15 Commissioner Beware - Lemonadeadopts WHO: Lemonadeadopts WHERE: FurAffinity: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/lemonadeadopts/ WHAT: 4-page multi-panel comic WHEN: September 17th — January 2019 EXPLAIN: Primarily I commissioned Lemonadeadopts back in September after a previous commission. I had received a deadline of October for this one but sadly that was delayed. I questioned the artist about it a few times after that and the days kept getting pushed further and further back before finally when it came to being asked last week (after failing to complete the commission back on Christmas) as they promised to complete it Monday. They were not in discussion at all and I'm afraid I felt as if I was waiting way too long without any real response so I had to issue a refund. Following months of asking for updates or any signs of life and only being pushed back more and more and more, I'm a bit exhausted of waiting... I'm tired of attempting to comment or note them to little avail until they say "Hey, my internet was out for x long." But, as an artist myself you don't really need the internet to use most programs or continue drawing. PROOF: https://i.imgur.com/0TIydmg.png (Proof of downpayment / half payment for full price) https://imgur.com/a/igMIQGy (proof of initial transaction and any updates to reach me by Sunday back in October) ( Read more... ) https://i.imgur.com/jIrM6Py.png (Note transactions promising they'd get the commission done back in December 'in 3-days' and then "dedicating Monday to finishing it" just yesterday, there was no response from the artist all of Monday) </lj-cut>
  23. I'm so sorry that it didn't work out... :c Also, you were bumped down the queue just because you were not as "pushy" as others.....? That doesn't sound great... ?
  24. Vexstacy knows about her, and what she did to her art, and is filing dmcas out as we speak.
  25. Mar. 16th, 2012 at 12:47 PM keshimeg WHO: Vani/Vanimute/Vanillakitsune aka Stripesandteeth/Ash WHERE: VanillaKitsune.deviantart.com (now deactivated) also Vanimute@DA Vani@FA Stripesandteeth@Tumblr WHAT: Digital chibi, Digital Portrait WHEN: August 6th 2009 up until 20th December 2011 PROOF: Proof of payment http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/ashpayment-1.jpg Original commission request was made on her Vanillakitsune DA account which has now been deactivated. I have placed screencaps of what conversation I could get, they are in the explanation. EXPLAIN: I have been a customer wronged by Vani/Ash. At one point I thought we were on a very good level, enough to say we were sort of friends. While my situation has a better ending than most as I received a refund in the end, I will share it. I've wanted to share it for a long time but always felt the need to tip-toe around her feelings and her fans. I'm done hiding though, because her behaviour is not on. I was happy with my outcome, despite having to fight for it for so long. However, after seeing her open more commissions, well, that angered me! I feel upset and sorry for the people who are still waiting, and those new commissioners who have no idea. I commissioned Ash on August 5th, 2009, this was on her VanillaKitsune DA account. She was wanting to save up for some ragdoll cats. Her art was an inspiration and I think this was around the time we were acquaintances. I ordered a chibi ($15) and a digital portrait ($50). I am a very trusting person and I really wanted to help. Full payment of $65 was sent upfront, I was extremely excited! Here is the payment proof http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/ashpayment-1.jpg A few months passed and I finally received a my chibi. It wasn't the highest quality of art (pencil sketch coloured in) but I still did enjoy it, hey I got art for one of my biggest inspirations, yipee! Here is the chibi commission http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/Art%20for%20me/Kyle/Kyle_Commish_by_Vanimute.jpg At this point I was pretty confident I will get my digital portrait soon. I waited.. and waited. Ash has changed accounts to Vanimute on DA so I found her there and watched her. I continued to see her upload new art (none being commissions) but still I waited patiently! I take commissions myself and understand that sometimes you don't have the right inspiration. I also kept into account she was in college. A while passed and I discovered she was active on FA under the name Vani, not only uploading personal art but.. taking more commissions? I made an account on FA just to follow her and wait, still very patiently though! It came to the point where she was continuously opening commissions, until finally making a journal about her to-do list/queue. The one we know ever so well http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1953643/ My commission is a year and a half overdue at this point, you would think I would be at the top of the list? I am all the way down the bottom! At this point I was done patiently and silently waiting. I voiced my feelings, albeit in the open but I think I had the right to. You can find the conversation here http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2014394/#cid:16534744 I generally like to be a kind person and give everyone the benefit of the doubt, even after being told it was my responsibility to keep in touch with her. Also if you read her reply, it is full of excuses (valid or not) and not one apology to me (I ended up being the one apologising?). As a commissioner myself I feel it is my responsibility to let my commissioners know if there will be a delay, also at least have the decency to own up to your mistake, have some humility and apologise?? So after feeling like the bad guy, I noted her on FA, here is a print screen. Note how I am still very understanding! http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/Ash1.jpg Well, that note was never read. I couldn't understand? I was told to note her! I waited months for a reply, it still says in my outbox that it has not been read. So I sent another one, this time I did not sugar coat my feelings. I was done, this was unacceptable. She still had $50 of my money and not one apology. Here is the note http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm46/keshikins/stuff/Ash2.jpg After this on not being read, I discovered I have to email her school account? Awesome! So far we have gone from Vanillakitsune@DA, Vanimute@da, Vani@FA (all of which have been abandoned) and now her school email. I sent the same message to her but via email. To my surprise I got a reply. I got an apology, we worked out what I wanted. I gave her 5 different characters to choose from. All different species and levels of fun in hopes this would be helpful. In these emails I reverted back to being kind and understanding, hoping to not upset her. I understood she was stressed and made a mistake and honestly didn't want to ruin any chances of receiving my art. This was the 7th/8th of June 2011. I received an update 2 weeks later, with some sketches. Awesome, it looked like we were getting somewhere. I replied saying I liked them, thanked her and hoped for her to continue. 2 months I waited, and sent her an email wondering what was going on. I didn't receive a reply. This is getting quite long, I promise it ends soon! I then discovered her on TUMBLR. We are so far away from commissioning her on Vanillakitsune. Tumblr has an ask system so some months after the email I sent, I sent an ask about it. I don't have records of what was sent, but I expressed my unhappiness again and stated this was unfair. I was told since I found it unfair I would get a refund. If I remember correctly a few weeks passed and I had to send her an ask again! This time the reply I got was her paypal email, telling me to send her an invoice for the refund and that she would have it by the end of the week. I sent it on the 6th of December. I received the refund 2 weeks later, on the 20th of December, 2011. I commissioned her on the 5th of August, 2009. I am happy I got a refund, although it took a look of persistence. I remained nice and understanding the majority of the time. Forgave her constantly and chased her around the internet. While I finally got my money back, so many others are not this lucky! More of us need to share our stories. People need to know that commissioning Ash is a bad idea. We need to stop being scared of her fans and hurting her feelings. She may have nice art and be popular, but not saying anything in public seems to be allowing this behaviour. She has run away with hundreds (maybe thousands?) of dollars, and continues to do nothing to right her wrongs but rather make it worse! Hopefully one day this will end. I hope that she can change her ways, own up and make up for her mistakes and complete any overdue art/refund people. It will take some time but she has dug this hole and continues to to this very day! You can only be supportive and forgiving for so long before enough is enough.
