About Me

  1. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/829923.html WHO: rachVerity Where: FA: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/rachverity/ Trello List: https://trello.com/b/kDddOtiK/commissions-list What: I commissioned them for an opening of an six character orgy commission that I requested to be made into a SFW group thing: http://imageshack.com/a/img540/5302/j1XVmB.png In their comment they state it will take up to a month. After I sent payment I messaged them with the details and references of my characters. When: Payment was sent on the 24th of July on the day that I asked for the commission in the previous picture. After that point, there was no contact from them about any updates, yet they continued to pile on the commissions. After they opened up a trello to show the status of each commission, I found mine still left uncheck. Proof: As outline above I sent the details soon afterwards: http://imageshack.com/a/img538/2711/5MPAvC.png Here is the paypal payment: http://imageshack.com/a/img903/2149/65t3G1.png Explain: After that point I send them this note over FA asking if anything had been done on the commission, and if not, asking for a refund: http://imageshack.com/a/img673/4466/bSG2KN.png Their reply, explaining that I would have to go on a refund waiting list, explaining that they hadn't openened commissions in ages, and more: http://imageshack.com/a/img661/9673/F7uI12.png Extra: A journal two days prior showing an opening of commissions: http://imageshack.com/a/img537/1746/LKp4Xo.png My reply, which may or may not have been a bit heated explaining how ludicrous the notion of a refund waiting list is: http://imageshack.com/a/img912/597/1OWp27.png And their reply implying things I did not say and of course, more: http://imageshack.com/a/img540/8864/KrxmJT.png As of writing this, A: I haven't replied to their last note; B: There are 144 uncompleted commissions on their Trello list. I have commissioned rachVerity before this, and recieved my product a little after they said it would be delivered. On that premonition I decided it would be safe to commision the artist again. I have attempted to communicate with them, with conditions of a refund, to which they respond with absurd notions of a refund waiting list. Upon telling them this, they going into a flurry of excuses and accussations. EDIT: Well I certainly didn't expect this to blow up the way it did. The artist has since given me a full refund, after I asked to make sure it wasn't payment from someone else's commission. This A_B is certainly going to stay up as a testament to what the artist needs to fix. I highly reccomend they don't take aboard any new commissions, and individually contact each customer they owe to see if they want to keep their commission. They have a lot of work ahead of them.
  2. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/812055.html Who: TojotheThief: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/tojo-the-thief Where: purchase was made on Furaffinity, progressed to email because the artist does not have notes enabled on FA. What: The purchase was several vinyl stickers. When: original purchase was made in August, stickers were to be delivered in October. Proof: screenshots to follow Explanation: basically, I purchased several vinyl stickers from Tojo in august. She has since deleted the post on FA, so I do not have a screenshot of the stickers. They were dragon stickers that said F*** You Im a Dragon. I contacted her to find out the delivery date, and was told in october. I again waited patiently and contacted her about them after that date had passed. She said she had difficulties with her original printer, and was having to go with a different printer. I attempted to contact her to talk about getting a refund, at which point she told me the stickers were already printed and on their way to her.  She told me that she would only refund me the price minus the printing cost.  As these are NOT customized stickers, they are generic stickers, I feel that she could easily sell the stickers I do not want and I should be entitled to the full refund. She has refused. Paypal has stated that it is past the date that I can ask for a refund, so at this point, she has my money and will not give me a full refund. I no longer want the stickers at all. At the moment, she has my money AND the stickers. Resolution: Refund has been given, issue is considered resolved.
  3. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/979990.html *edit*Resolved! Turns out trying to get my money back from paypal reminded them of my commission and they delivered. I'm very thankful. It looks great. I am still actively trying to either get a refund or the finished piece from the artist and am open to a resolution. I've never had to do this before and honestly I feel bad but I have been scammed by too many artists at this point. :C WHO: KARNxJiro WHERE: https://karnxjiro.deviantart.com/ WHAT: Digital Art WHEN: Initial Contact Oct 4, 2017 EXPLAIN: Ignored me for nearly a month. When they finally did get in contact with me they said my commission had been done for weeks and they would upload it promptly. It's been about another month since that. PROOF: October 4, 2017 Initial conversation where we agree on the commission and image. It should also be noted the artist states "the delivery time is within a week after draft approval" https://imgur.com/h2cw5JF October 5, 2017 Continued discussion on specifics of commission. Draft was provided, as well as paypal email. (which has obviously been blocked out) https://imgur.com/vmdhBOa October 5, 2017 WIP I approved. Which I really liked, and it's a super shame I may never see it finished. https://imgur.com/gczxeyO October 5, 2017 Me approving the draft and paying the artist. I even pay them more than they had requested. Which they almost refunded me for. https://imgur.com/BIkH61a October 13, 2017 Over a week later, as you may recall from the October 4th post it should have only taken a week. https://imgur.com/6IyrNYX October 16, 2017 A couple days later I decided to contact them via email since I had not seen or heard from them on dA for a bit. https://imgur.com/ceTNMfD October 17, 2017 I get a response! It seems really positive. Just an issue with ISP. They will get back to me. https://imgur.com/mHnC1Dk October 18, 2017 They tell me that the image will be late (which it already is) but I'm ok with that. For my patience they offer to design some extra things on my character for me. That's awesome! https://imgur.com/iPGA1P3 October 26 — November 3, 2017 I try to contact them again with no response. It shows the unopened dA notes a week later. https://imgur.com/MbhQcvu November 17 - November 19, 2017 I try again to contact them. With success. (though I switched emails). They remember who I am, what my commission is, and that they will get it to me ASAP. They also mention the commission is done. It's finished at this point, I guess they just forgot about me. By November 19 there is still nothing from the artist. https://imgur.com/x7uvkZx November 20, 2017 They contact me saying my image will be up tomorrow! Excitement! https://imgur.com/DXQnmdg By this point I decide it is a good idea to take a screenshot of their dA page/recent arts with timestamp. To show that my image is in fact not there. I also added a comment to their page, which you can see it is something innocent and playful. https://imgur.com/wMwsl7q November 27, 2017 No contact from artist. No change to their dA page. https://sta.sh/0167tuwexrm1 November 29, 2017 They contact me saying they were occupied with another client and will upload on dA today. This is 12 days after they said my commission was done. https://sta.sh/019hqp4hdzj8 December 29, 2017 I think I've tried to contact them here and there at this point with no response. It has been a month now. I took a screenshot of their dA page today, which seems to have changed slightly. My commission however has not been uploaded. Also my comment seems to have been hidden. I'm not sure what was wrong with it. Assuming the worst at this point, though I would love to be pleasantly surprised. https://sta.sh/019g0wgsavqs I've also reported the transaction to paypal at this point in hopes of getting my money back. Sorry this is longwinded. I've never been in this situation before and I wanted to make sure my bases were covered.
  4. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/970977.html WHO: Yuurikin on FurAffinity, Onika on Twitter WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/yuurikin/ WHAT: Digital art, single character ($85) WHEN: Paid on May 13 2016, I sent a note on August 19 2016 asking for a refund. EXPLAIN: The artist opened for commissions in early May 2016 and I got a commission slot, payment was made on May 13 2016 (https://puu.sh/xEbuA/78ada16279.png) in the total of $85 for a single character digital piece. The artist later made a journal in mid-August 2016 stating they were overburdened with a large commission queue and would appreciate folks asking for refunds (Journal since deleted). I sent a note on August 19 2016 asking for a refund (https://puu.sh/xEbzA/4da6977871.png). I did not receive a response to this note so I sent a follow up note on September 22 2016 (https://puu.sh/xEbD6/013fc01f4e.png). I got a response back from the artist a month later on October 22 2016 stating they were working to get mine and others' refunds out sometime in the beginning or middle of next month (https://puu.sh/xEbDl/be089f9dc8.png). I stated this was fine (https://puu.sh/xEbJb/fe3f3feab5.png). I followed up on November 28 2016 when no refund was seen for the entirety of the month, proposing an exchange for a different commission, offering the artist another route out (http://puu.sh/xEbNp/c354455819.png). I sent the details of this commission on December 8 2016, did not receive a response, and followed up again on December 12 2016 to see what the artist thought, to which they replied "Yeah that would be fine" (https://puu.sh/xEbUQ/329d7a6462.png). I did not hear from the artist after. There were sparse messages and journals about the refund process intermingled with musings about having no desire to work (https://puu.sh/xEc6y/10ad8fd440.png, https://puu.sh/xEc7G/c601242319.png). There was a refund queue on their Trello at one point, detailing everyone waiting for a refund, how much, and what order they were in line. This Trello list was eventually removed as well and instead replaced with a note about where he is at with refunds (http://puu.sh/xEcd7/c521e21706.png as of 9/19/2017). I sent a note asking about the status of my refund once more on September 6 2017 (https://puu.sh/xEaZS/f441ea1d63.png), which he read and did not reply to (https://puu.sh/xEaZd/b29965217c.png). I followed up almost 20 days later, a few days after this I received a response stating he was leaving for a trip and I should see a refund around the start of October (http://puu.sh/xMfxY/d18c403e67.png). PROOF: Proof of Payment: https://puu.sh/xEbuA/78ada16279.png Note 1: https://puu.sh/xEbzA/4da6977871.png Note 2: https://puu.sh/xEbD6/013fc01f4e.png Response to Note 2: https://puu.sh/xEbDl/be089f9dc8.png Note 3: https://puu.sh/xEbJb/fe3f3feab5.png Note 4-5 + Response: http://puu.sh/xEbNp/c354455819.png Note 6-7 + Response: https://puu.sh/xEbUQ/329d7a6462.png Journals: https://puu.sh/xEc6y/10ad8fd440.png, https://puu.sh/xEc7G/c601242319.png Trello Refund Note: http://puu.sh/xEcd7/c521e21706.png Note 8: https://puu.sh/xEaZS/f441ea1d63.png Proof of Note 8 Read: https://puu.sh/xEaZd/b29965217c.png Note 9 + Response: http://puu.sh/xMfxY/d18c403e67.png EDITS: 9/26/2017: Corrected pronouns 9/29/2017: Received a reply (Note 9 + Response) 10/8/2017: Was informed I'd receive my refund later that day, and did receive a refund in full. 5. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/954122.html WHO: Joshain Lucarian WHERE: https://www.facebook.com/joshain.lucarian WHAT: Laminated headshot Badge w/lanyard, Tail badge, and badge clips. WHEN: Commissioned on September 8th, 2016 and still on going. EXPLAIN: I had commissioned Joshain back on September 8th 2016. Although they are very nice and I am a VERY patient person I am very unsatisfied with the updates I recieved. I believe I got one picture showing me the draft of the tail badge I ordered. (I ordered laminated headshot, tail badge, badge clips, lanyard.http://sta.sh/024y1yhi0v75 Please note in the screenshots a friend paid for me. Unfortunely, they paid through paypal friends and family. http://sta.sh/0a27gtna27m) Other than the one WIP picture to my knowledge I recieved nothing else. I would ask for updates every few weeks, (I lost our earlier messages on my other account - due to a Facebook sweep) and even then it was hard to get in contact with them due to their messages not working. http://sta.sh/01g74e4wxrs9 - September 18th, 2016, They had informed me they were beginning their commissions again as they had taken a break. This message had been sent to both this account and the other I was more active on at the time - I had answered on my lost account which is why there is no response here. (Started on last image ) February 15, 2017, I had poked him again since it was a while since I had last heard from him. He told me he had messaged me asking for my address but my account was down. Since they were ready to be shipped I had asked to see them, he told me he wasn't able to send them at that moment and will later but so far hasn't. http://sta.sh/01wzylghjlda / http://sta.sh/019ei49rbdfo - He took down my name and address to remind themselves to send it. http://sta.sh/02ajnw8rm5jw - By February 26th, I had yet to recieve anything in the mail so messaged him again asking, he hadn't as a friend had his sketchbook. After that, I had left him alone. (Same image) March 11th, I asked him when I should expect my items and that was when he told me he had already sent it out through regular mail that Tuesday. He let me know he'd keep an eye out on it, in case it was sent back to him. http://sta.sh/0woep2tb6el - March 19th, I still had yet to get anything in the mail so once again shot them a message, neither of us had gotten anything in the mail. http://sta.sh/028kricc326c - March 23rd, 24th, 29th and April 3rd, I've sent him messages only to be ignored by him. Aside from him telling me he mailed I have no way to prove it as I did not receive a tracking number or other information. So far, I haven't received a thing. I've gotten art from Germany and it didn't take this long. I've tried for the past few days to resolve this by refund or anything really. I have had to resorted to posting to their wall and commenting on posts they've made to get their attention. So far my comments have been deleted and unanswered. So, I've been tagging them in statuses to get them to respond. Their facebook chat log show them online and active often. http://sta.sh/02aakq50ik7c / http://sta.sh/04svxu7c2hl / http://sta.sh/0a8edb27udr / http://sta.sh/0220haaevn1v / http://sta.sh/0xhk7cmxy2w - All the attempts I've made to get in contact with him, the last time I've heard from him was April 19th only to be told he was busy and he would message me back. But, of course he never did. //Also, the beware I speak about was a facebook group I had been apart of. A friend of mine recommended here to me, we are both hoping it helps. On one of my statuses a friend of his came to defend him, http://sta.sh/026jljohd3j7 / http://sta.sh/09m9icukx6j / http://sta.sh/021xhr09zsas - They stated that if their friend was doing this there had to be a reason. So far, I don't see a reason as everything had been going well until they supposedly mailed out my items. PROOF: All images placed in one album - http://sta.sh/21jca6tqdai5?edit=1 At this point, I have to assume they're blatantly ignoring me and I won't be seeing anything from this transaction. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do, that would be great. Thank you for your time and have a good day.
  6. Personally, I am of the mind that this should not have been refunded in full. An edit with the addition of the horns, yes. Possibly a partial refund at most, but not a full refund. The quality is not that far off from the other images so there is no problem with the grievance there. The difference in style is deceptive and makes one assume that the quality is different but it's the same. The artist clearly favors more semi-realistic and real stylized looks. The hair in the image has the strongest indication of the artist usual rendering, which would not have worked if applied to the rest of the body. And the slight wispy lining you see in the two examples would also not have worked if applied to the very specific stylization present in the OP's character. There is also rendering on the chest floof which you can see if you don't have a washed out or otherwise too-bright monitor. If anything, it seems the artist may have had some difficulty adapting to the very stylized and over-large eyed look of the OP's character. At worst the artist misjudged their ability to pull off the look when agreeing to take on the commission. As I stated before, the worst of this boils down to not sending the OP any WIP or making any indication that the commission in question would not have any form of WIP. But even with that in mind, receiving a full refund over such minor errors feels more like robbery at this point. A note for future reference, not just in this case specifically, but any other, if you're about to commission an artist you see something very specific in an artist's gallery you would like them to emulate in a commission of yours, point out that specific piece to them and express this. You know your refs, you know what to look for, all artists do not have the same 'short hand' for rendering textures and render types and will not always interpret it the way you may have imagined it in your head. Pointing out something explicit 'This character's look is really close to how I'd like mine to look' or 'the way you did this short fur on this would be perfect', at the start of the commission can bridge some of gaps of misinterpretation. (and yes WIP will always fix a lot of this but, pointing out stuff like this can still help)
  7. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/914048.html WHO: HornedFreak WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/hornedfreak/ WHAT: Digital Art, $30 commission WHEN: Initial transaction was on March 22, 2016. I haven't seen any progress on my commission, or my name added onto HornedFreak's trello for two months. Only after I poked her about it did she add my name to the que. (NSFW) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20389722/ - NSFW EXPLAIN: She opened commissions on March 22nd, 2016, and she took mine. I asked her what I wanted, and let her do her thing. I haven't received an update on my commission in a while, and my name wasn't in her trello que, so on May 12, I sent her a note. My note was read, and I didn't receive a response. So I tried again a week later. I received a response on May 19 that my commission is in progress, and my name got added on her trello que. I was content for the time being, so I gave her space. A few days later on May 23rd, she opens up a new batch of commissions, which left me a little confused because at the very least, my commission in the batch I was in wasn't finished. I waited another month to receive my art, and I was getting a bit flustered by the lack of communication, and I don't know when she'd get to my commission since the progress seemed a bit slow with no update at all. I didn't see any art. So on June 24, I send her another note asking for a refund, since I saw no artwork of any kind sent to me. The note was read, and I received no response. However, two days later (today), I saw that she posted my commission; didn't notify me about it either. x_x. At this point I'm really miffed because I wanted my money back from the lack of communication, I didn't want the art anymore. So from my standpoint, it felt like she hurried to do my commission, and posted it to prevent me from getting a refund that I had already asked for two days prior, and she was aware that I had asked for it as the note was marked read in my outbox. Edit: http://imgur.com/Ku2tgKu - Conversation about the refund. As of 6/27/2016, she has refunded my money. So I consider this matter resolved.

I usually give quite a bit of time with waiting on art since I knew there was quite a bit of work to be done. They continued to post art and a lot of PARPG stuff instead of the owed work they owed to me (but I digress). I finally sent the first note on October 4th of 2014 asking what was up and they told me that they had lost their tablet pen. I gave them the benefit of a doubt and let it go. The next time I got in contact with them was 9 months later (July 2nd 0f 2015) but in the note they explained that they got hacked and couldn't access their old account and I had to scour deviantart to find them again through commissions they ordered from an artist I watch. Again I let it slide though I really regret not pushing some more. They never bothered to keep in contact with me and continued to post art on a regular basis and not any art they owed to me. I had sent them another note February 11th of 2016 but never got a reply to that note though it was read. I waited a month before sending another note and they told me there was a death in the family. I let it slide since I'm a very forgiving person. I am very tired of almost waiting two years on this and it honestly should not be like this but maybe this can bring awareness to the user who has not kept their end of the deal even though I have been more than forgiving with how long this has taken. EDIT: As of May 19th, 2016 I have sent them another note concerning my owed art EDIT 2: As of May 26th, 2016 they have continued to post art and journals without reading my note at all or responding to it Edit 3: Updated links since I hate dropdox, I also got one of the 3 owed pieces of art finally (they posted it on a side account instead of their main) after I left a comment on their page asking them to check their notes

As of 11/18/2015 the builder has sent the full amount of the commission back to my paypal account. On 11/23/2015 the materials I sent out were returned and the paypal money has posted to my account. I am disappointed the builder did not complete the work, but after waiting more than a year for less than 8 hours of work I had waited long enough. Thanks to the help of this forum I got the issue resolved. If you plan on commissioning this builder in the future I suggest you write up an airtight scope of work with a mutually agreed upon delivery schedule before you send any money.
  10. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/877086.html Edit 10/30/2015 I received my order as well as an apology from the maker, hoping the same happened with the other costumers too. I understand things happen, but she has started to out right ignore her clients that are sending her notes on DeviantArt (and I know she is reading them, dA marks notes as "read" once opened.) We've been very patient and understanding with her but this is starting to become unprofessional. It took her a year to finally post a WIP for us due to the complications in the journals above. I'd honestly rather her post another journal though than ignore me and other clients on DeviantArt. This is happening while she still is taking commissions and taking down payments from other people, while she has had clients waiting for their 100% payed for mask for 15+ months( a year and a half almost). I'm very disappointing with the service I received for my $730 bucks, especially since I payed everything on time and let her push my project back continuously so she can advertise/sell merchandise at Anthrocon, work on her own personal projects, or deal with her real life issues. Sorry for the rant, I'm just so burnt out from this mask commission.. I can not recommend this fursuit maker to anyone anymore unless she works out her communication issues with her clients, and can balance her real life problems with her "professional career that makes her a living" as she called it. There's not excuse for this.

EXPLAIN: In May 2013, I commissioned Tortle for an art doll. Over the next 2 years I commissioned him for many more things, as well as buying adoptables he put up for sale. While I recieved most of these, the doll and a handful of other commissioned pieces were not completed. In late 2014, Tortle became inactive on Tumblr and FA for several months, all the way up to May of this year. During this time, he would not respond to messages sent by myself or my partner. I have learned since that he did not respond to multiple other commissioners, either. In May of this year, I checked his Tumblr after waiting for a couple months– only to discover that he had been active again for weeks– dispite the fact that he STILL hadn’t replied to the multiple messages my partner and I had sent him. I sent Tortle a message asking for him to get in contact with me reguarding my commissions, which did not get any reply. However, my partner sent Tortle these two asks on Tumblr: https://40.media.tumblr.com/22b485b4e20c76afd639f130133d8013/tumblr_nvjm8fRnfo1u6i3n1o3_1280.png https://41.media.tumblr.com/617c1f179e4b603be035eabdee3b1a5e/tumblr_nvjm8fRnfo1u6i3n1o2_1280.png Tortle's response: https://40.media.tumblr.com/902f1208dc49364191ab6c9618a13937/tumblr_nvjm8fRnfo1u6i3n1o1_1280.png This was the last and only message we’ve recieved from him since. He never got back to us to work anything out. We sent him multiple other messages, as well as messaging his partner in an effort to get into any kind of contact with him, all of which recieved no response. About a month ago, I was browsing the front page of FA when I saw an adoptable posted to a new account: gatorbite, which makes no reference to and does not link to his Tortle accounts. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and hoped that he was making money to pay people back, and that he would get to people eventually. After a month or so of him posting adopts and commissions almost constantly, however, it became clear that this was not the case. Frustrated with Tortle’s unresponsiveness, I decided to note him asking what he planned to do about what he owed me and when – only to find out that he had blocked me on his gatorbite account, despite the fact that I had not watched him, favourited his art or interacted at all with him on that account previously. https://36.media.tumblr.com/e7a1f7e01b4d1df90dd7c11dd2d47db0/tumblr_nvjm8fRnfo1u6i3n1o5_r1_1280.png https://40.media.tumblr.com/0ca6959ffcba7392358b4bd9f567e883/tumblr_nvjm8fRnfo1u6i3n1o4_r1_1280.png This gives me the impression that Tortle created his Gatorbite account to avoid the people he previously owed art and money. At this point, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do except post a beware. Tortle is not trustworthy and I strongly advise against commissioning him. Edit: Fixed a date that I thought I had already fixed, sorry
  12. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/867465.html WHO: Kimba90 WHERE: https://inkbunny.net/kimba90 WHAT: Two character digital NSFW commission of anthro 'My Little Pony' characters. WHEN: Initially contacted on Aug 16th. Trouble showed up Aug 29th. PROOF: link to all the screenshots, which I will be putting into context below the cut EXPLAIN: Kimba90 contacted me on August 16th to ask about a commission. I pointed him at my simple price list. He asked about me drawing "loli" characters, but I let him know I wasn't into drawing underaged characters in sexual situations. He asked about drawing MLP, I said that was okay. I am not too good at 'feral' animals but could do them anthro-ized or like ginjinka. We got the details sorted. I let him know that I would do a rough sketch to get the poses down before asking for payment. I don't add any character details in the sketch until I've been paid. screenshot I showed him the first sketch (NSFW). He asked for some changes. screenshot I obliged and sent a revised sketch (NSFW). He asked for one more tweak, plus a second insert panel shot. I did so (NSFW). screenshot I sent the final revision on the 26th. Three days passed so I sent him a reminder on the 29th that I still needed his PP address so I could send him that invoice. He PMs back with his address... but also informs me that he doesn't have any money in his PP account. I figure he was trying to scam me into free artwork, but I asked if I should just put the drawing on hold until he does have the money... and when I should expect it. screenshot It's been two days and he hasn't PMed back. I think he is just going to ignore me and I figured I might as well post this beware. Even if he does get back to me, I don't appreciate that he would try to get a commission and not have the funds to back it up, so I won't be continuing on this commission. I saved a copy of the first version of the sketch, so I will probably sell it as a YCH on FA to recoup. (commission request specifics blurred and screenshots larger as requested)

WHEN: On June 11th, I was tagged into a posting in a Furry-Centered Art Group on Facebook by some personal friends who are moderators there. The reason is irrelevant (and I also cannot remember it), but I decided to commission the OP (Ann Allen) as they were showing off about 10 or so completed chibi pieces they had done for a group of people they were staying with at a con. PROOF & EXPLANATION: All correspondence is/was through Facebook PM, and follows as such, censored parts are her e-mail and my work address-- First Contact (June 11th): http://i.imgur.com/CSvIpsp.png I give her my commission details in PM after arranging for a commission in the original post in the Facebook Group, we chat a bit about our jobs (mostly omitted from screens as it's not pertinent) and I leave her alone to it. I ask later if she has an FA, she ignores me. The conversation picks back up nearly a month later JULY 6th where she asks me AGAIN what styles I want: http://i.imgur.com/vuOnC9v.png I reiterate that I'd like just the regular, simple chibis: http://i.imgur.com/w4GFurp.png The next day (July 7th) she asks me if I'm picking up at AC, when I never mentioned anything about going to AC prior to this nor on Facebook: http://i.imgur.com/rROL5Wn.png I inform her that I haven't been to AC since 2012 since I generally don't have the kind of funds it takes, and I again give her my address to have them shipped: http://i.imgur.com/t0PI0IN.png As you can see, the conversation ends there. I ask her again on the 21st of July and again a week later on the 28th of July for updates. I get silence. At this point it's been over a month I've been waiting for two tiny, very simple chibis that I've been asked for details on more than once despite her being active on her Facebook and posting other commissions/personal art. She had been very talkative at initial contact and then for some days after until I started asking for updates, then I started getting silence. Finally, on the 28th of July I asked for another update and postured a Beware. She sends me a photo of an empty iPhone Box: http://i.imgur.com/43VVXvk.png She claims then that her phone was broken despite never having made mention of this anywhere: http://i.imgur.com/L815Pkf.png I am sympathetic, she AGAIN asks me what I ordered. I tell her, re-send our refs. On August 13th (now it's been a little over two months) I ask her for an update: http://i.imgur.com/RJq5qnF.png Then again today (August 19th) I message her, and despite seeing her posting on her personal Facebook and being active on messenger, she continues to ignore me. I believe I am now out of the range of chargeback, and for $7 I'm not exactly going to kick and scream, but I REALLY did want my art, I genuinely like her work but I'm not the kind of person that likes to be strung along. I browsed her Facebook Wall a bit earlier and saw other people posting, asking for updates and replies to messages so it seems she's doing this to almost all her clientele while posting commissions she got for herself, etc.

I had commissioned them back in May and received my art in four days, so I thought this trade would also be as smooth. We discussed the details of the trade through notes before moving on to email. Since the item was rather expensive,we agreed on two pieces of art in exchange, a mini and a flat colored sketch. I received the mini on August 15. Shortly afterwards they opened up for more commissions. (screenshot) A little over a month later, they posted a journal (screenshot) in which they explained they were very busy with school. I was sympathetic and was willing to wait. In mid-November, I saw a post on their public art Tumblr offering to trade art for a plushie. This was just days after they posted a journal (screenshot) about how they once again were very busy with school. I was upset because they still owed me art from our trade and noted them with my concerns. They explained that they realized how heavy their workload was and had already deleted the post. I was again willing to wait, and in December they posted promising to work on commissions over winter break. (screenshot) However, in mid-January they again posted a journal (screenshot) about how they had no time to work on commissions over their break. They posted on their public art Tumblr about how they just could not work over their break and how awful they felt about it. Despite how busy they supposedly were with school and life, VCR Wolfe has posted new personal art work on a near daily basis. Between their two Weasyl accounts, they have posted over 130 submissions in the 8 months since I commissioned them. They have set up at least three separate blogs (NSFW), including one with drawn ask responses although that one seems to have been inactive since December. Their main art Tumblr is the most active. Although it is mostly sketches, they have also (NSFW) posted several polished pieces of art since I have commissioned them. (screenshots newest to oldest: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 NSFW 9) All of this while telling commissioners they have no time for art. I have been able to see progress on my second commission by noting them on Weasyl. NSFW At this point, however, I am just tired of the poor work ethic this artist has. As of February 23, I still have not received the finished second piece of art. Edit: While this was in the queue, VCR Wolfe and I settled the matter with them issuing a partial refund. I consider this resolved
  16. Caution: There will be some watersports art. And then gore and mentions of scat. I've censored some of the more sensitive artwork. It started out as what seemed like some normal commissions but as time goes by with subsequent commissions, the artist could not seem to deliver on the artwork and even after waiting so long, it's becoming increasingly frustrating. I am growing to have trust issues. Anyways, here goes nothing. Because it'll be long, I've split it into parts and placed under spoilers. Part 1: The beginning It started out as some innocent discussion and the artist showing me what can be done. I asked for some watersports artwork involving my sona which the artist only seems too happy to oblige. Part 2: The Botched Commission After the first commission is complete, I started discussing about a new snuff artwork that will feature one of my friends' characters. I discussed with my friend and he gave me the a-ok to have his character be the victim. Part 3: Radio Silence & Ghosting The second commission didn't quite go well. I thought I would ask for some scat relief artwork. And to top it all off? I checked the FA profile and there are still artwork being submitted from time to time, even as recent as a few days ago or even several hours ago as of the time of writing so I suspect the artist had been making excuses and ghosting me. The payments I made for separate commissions. The date of payment should match up with the date timestamp of Telegram messages where I notified of payment. Keep in mind that Boosty is used to pay. Commission #1: (Status: Complete, submitted to my gallery) Amount paid: $141.99 CAD | 6126 RUB Commission #2: (Status: Botched, artwork never revised to my request. Intended to be a sequence, only got one nearly-finished frame that needs colours and revisions.) Amount paid: $192.01 CAD | 8200 RUB (Intended: $145.18 / 6200 RUB) Commission #3: (Status: Never finished) Amount paid: $92.07 CAD | 5000 RUB (+$46.83 / 2000 RUB credit from overpaying commission #2) The Unfinished Execution Sequence Artwork (Content Warning: Gore/Decapitation + Green Blood) Just in case if you were wondering what was in animation.gif At this point, I begin to suspect this "artist" might be a scammer so if this person comes to you asking to commission, please know about my experience. (1) They responded with a “no problem!” just a few days later and then noted me with questions about details and their PayPal. (2) I responded with what I was looking for as well as the payment. (3) They then added me to the queue that was in the aforementioned journal. (5) -Feb 2014- I left a shout on Knon’s page (4) asking if they would add the queue in the journal to the queue that was listed in their homepage. No response or action was taken by the artist. (6) -May 2014- I decided to send a friendly note to a person who frequently commissions this artist and asked if this lack of response was normal and whether or not to worry. I was assured it was normal and things were fine. Just a few days after that, the artist posted a journal saying that things were fine, they were alive, and would get back to people that wanted refunds. (7) -August 2014- I sent a note again asking for my refund. The note was neither read nor responded to. (8) A week later I sent a final note asking for a refund within 24 hours or I would resort to posting an A_B. (9) That was now 2 weeks ago. I believe I also sent a Skype message to the artist within this time period, as their Skype info is posted on their home page, but I don’t know how to go about getting evidence of that. So now here we are. This is my first post to A_B as well as my first time ever dealing with Livejournal, so I apologize for any mistakes in this. Thank you for your time.

Though it's really mixed, she has taken on multiple commissions since mine, and finished them. However, her current queue is at least 28 people long (not counting myself) with a total of over 78 individual pictures owed. She seems nice, but I think she is too worried about upsetting people to contact them and explain what is going on with wait times.
  19. I have no horse in either of these races, but I've been following along and this is what I see: The reference images were bad. No doubt about that. Not only are the markings all over the place, but the image where shes on the hood of the car clearly has a lot larger muzzle and larger, curved ears than the more ref sheet design. If you didn't tell me that these are the same character then I wouldn't think they were. I might struggle to say they are the same species. If they were going more off the second image than the first, I can clearly see why they would use a more mousey base for the head. The ears and muzzle clearly make more sense. Honestly I would have paid for a professional fursuit ref rather than a normal character ref and some images. The less said about the lion king recolour, the better. I think there was a big lack of trust on camarofurry's part. From all the emails I have seen and read, little thought is given to compromise or actually working WITH the artist. I know you paid a lot of money, but when you commission another person for something, you need to work with them because, chances are, they know a lot better than you what they are doing. I think jumping to conclusions about the head and tail were big mistakes. The curved one is clearly more optimal for moving about in a real world environment. It might not be as true to the character as you want but, again, you need to make compromises and work with the artist. I've seen a lot of people say "Why didn't Lemonbrat cancel and refund if they couldn't do it?" but I think thats a bad attitude to have. I think Lemonbrat was confident that they could deliver what the customer asked for to start, so they agreed. By the time issues in production started cropping up the item was already 100% paid and they had spent work hours and materials on it. Lemonbrat has people and bills to pay. Its not easy to take a hit of $3600 PLUS cost of materials PLUS cost of paying the artists the hours of work wasted. By the time there were big problems, it was probably a better move financially to push ahead and try to deliver a good product. Now, the finished suit itself. There are clearly problems with it but I think its less an issue to do with poor quality work and more to do with the materials used. Lots of words have been typed about the seams and the way the tail is attached. I think we can all agree that such a big tail is going to put strain on that fabric. It needs a firm base to be attached to. It does look bad, I agree, and maybe something can be done to sort it, but I honestly think this was probably the best idea they had at the time. The fact it was being modeled by somebody shorter than the suit was designed for probably didn't help matters either. As the for the seams: They are always going to be here, regardless. The fur just isn't deep pile enough to hide them. I don't really see an issue with either them or the zipper. Its a costume, at the end of the day. Its gonna have seams and honestly I can understand why the zip is so prominent. I don't quite know what the commissioner was expecting zip wise. I don't think either side is blameless, but I think Lemonbrat was trying their best to work in a hard situation. There are always going to be difficult customers and you do your best to make them happy. I think there was a big issue of clashing ideas and both sides thought they knew better than the other. I understand why they won't give a refund for the reasons listed above, but I am glad to see they are trying to make fixes to the suit. I'm not sure what resolution would make camarofurry happy as she is clearly not getting her money back, but I hope she at least grows to like the suit once its in her hands despite the bad experience.
  20. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/974050.html WHO: Customer- Levi (Telegram: @Leviathan95 ) EDIT: Telegram username keeps changing every so often. WHERE: Telegram WHAT: Digital Ref(refunded $20) WHEN: Between Sept 7th-October 19th EXPLAIN: I had Levi commission for a fursuit ref on september 7th. He was 7th in line when he commissioned me with a lineart project in 1st and 5 small projects inbetween. Sadly I got sick with an infection the entire month of September and could not work on his reference sheet. In October I had stopped working on a big lineart piece that was first in line to focus on his ref for the entire week of October 16th-19th. I had completed the linework of the ref and was going to color it on the 20th since I had a family emergency on the 19th but he tells me he is getting another artist to make his ref because I'm not working fast enough and I was working on other stuff that isn't his. (Unfinished ref: https://imgur.com/hHKooX4 ) 1. He was 7th in line on September 7th 2. As any normal artist working on smaller projects like icons, badges, etc is a way to take a break from big projects like lineart and refs so you can feel refreshed to come back to the big project. 3. Someone paid for a deadline for 1 week and I finished it in a day It was stated in my Telegram art channel that he was in and was able to read other messages like for example how I had halted work when I was sick. (Proof of alerts what was posted on Art Channel: https://imgur.com/tSxpnee ) 4. He was 2nd in line and I stopped working on the 1st commissioners lineart for him. 5. In the beginning of our conversations he had stated numerous times that he was in no rush for his ref to be completed. (Moments where he said it was no rush: https://imgur.com/tqgLmQD ) So he decides to lie to the fursuit maker that he was getting said fursuit from saying I pushed him to 12th in line when that wasn't even true, The maker informed me of his concerns and I had approached him with his problems. My ToS states I only give partial refunds but I had no choice but to give him a full refund. Due to fearing he would spread rumors that I didn't give him a refund at all. (my ToS: https://goo.gl/forms/New1kFb0HQwYtOzS2) PROOF: Here is the entire conversation https://imgur.com/a/tjpFK UPDATE: I had got in contact with the artist who had made his new reference sheet and they can confirm about his behavior that made them worried that Levi would attempt to get a refund if they did not work fast enough. https://imgur.com/meBYbmu

A set of headband ears which I was told would be finished by July at Anthrocon. The convention came and went and I still did not receive my item (asking if they will be ready https://imgur.com/a/oYsYu. I was placed on her public Que for completion along with others. Earlier this year I was removed from the list without notification and I myself had to reach out to her. The reason I got was as follows: "ive been trying to get the extra cash to actually refund you for them since its been a crazy amount of time :(" I was also informed she wanted to focus solely on large scale projects (Trello removal? https://imgur.com/a/peEsU) (Trello response https://imgur.com/a/yd4Df). I also know between all of this she had moved several times and was having issues so I was patient and understanding. Since all of this she has bought quite a bit of house items, a large 3-d printer, and a large 22hd cintiq drawing tablet for herself within the past two months so I do not understand why I have not received my refund from her. She is using both the 3-d printer and the tablet to take on many commissions and pre-orders and has been very active online in doing so. On the 24th I issued a two week warning on an artist beware, believing this was more then enough time to rectify the issue of either my refund or the product. She has read these messages but has not responded since (Follow up https://imgur.com/a/mX8Kr) (following up again https://imgur.com/a/GdTjK) (Ultimatium issued https://imgur.com/a/NgsPk). Now I understand should not have waited this long for such a small product but with her moving a lot I thought it was the right thing to do. I would get paypal involved but it is now going on almost 3 years of waiting for ear headbands. She also claims she doesn't take small parts orders but her trello and her pages show otherwise. > > PROOF: (paypal transaction https://imgur.com/a/qAJnV > ) (asking if they will be ready https://imgur.com/a/oYsYu) (overdue Acknowledgment https://imgur.com/a/Rrju8) (Trello removal? https://imgur.com/a/peEsU) (Trello response https://imgur.com/a/yd4Df) (Follow up https://imgur.com/a/mX8Kr) (following up again https://imgur.com/a/GdTjK) (Ultimatium issued https://imgur.com/a/NgsPk) (business email and possible refund? https://imgur.com/a/0vDdk > ) (New Graphic Table and price https://imgur.com/a/TPpc6 https://imgur.com/a/L680s) (New large 3-d printer and price https://imgur.com/a/wJkBR https://imgur.com/a/0hVhO) (proof that all messages on furaffinty were read by Victoria as requested by AB staff https://imgur.com/a/tiqIA) ::EDIT AS OF 10/20/2017:: Full refund has been recieved by Victoria via paypal So I am owed nothing else. link for proof: https://imgur.com/a/wynPx
  22. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/962615.html WHO: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/touchofsnow/ (explicit content.) WHAT: A cell worth $125 USD. WHEN: September 2016. Ongoing. Way back in August of 2016, I decided that I was going to get a commission of my character, and a friends. I was recommended touchofsnow, who also goes by Blizzie, by a friend. After noting them, they were happy to send me a paypal invoice. I had never gotten a commission before, so i sent them a note. https://www.dropbox.com/s/zbxfua1ko1trctu/Notes 1.PNG?dl=0 I figured it went smooth enough, and got put in their queue in September. I paid their invoice. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3xglem2e4dudjpi/Paypal Invoice.PNG?dl=0 Their queue is hosted on Trello, and I was slotted in. They had quite the full queue already, but I didn't mind waiting. The queue was being completed very slowly at the time, but I assumed this was a proper pace for an artist. Some time later, I sent a note asking to "upgrade" my commission from a cell to a full. https://www.dropbox.com/s/eme85obvab36j40/Notes 2.PNG?dl=0 I never received an invoice for the upgrade. In December of 2016, I had been waiting three months. Very little activity on their part, so I asked for a refund. https://www.dropbox.com/s/jenfxa6qt7i82qm/Notes 4.PNG?dl=0 I accepted the offer of an upgrade instead of a refund, and then I waited. I felt a little bad for them, and offered again to pay for the upgrade. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gdtadv9aohm5dxg/Notes 5.PNG?dl=0 So i continued to wait. I got in contact with Blizzie the first week of July 2017. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4bpm0swa5rsc3mx/Notes 6.PNG?dl=0 There has been little indication of them working on art. They have submitted 29 pieces since I've been on the queue. 8 of which are Telegram Stickers. The rest of which are proper pieces. They posted an apology journal in June 2017. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4grakc6zij7ls6p/Journal 2.PNG?dl=0 I still have not received the art, nor am I certain that I will receive it anytime soon. I'm disappointed that my first commission has ended up this way. Paypal automatically closes disputes, as it has been longer than 180 days. UPDATE: They're still taking stickers, and seemingly exclusively work on their Patreon queue nowadays. Still infrequently uploading. Update 2: I've been refunded. I did call them out in a stream for not working on their queue, but left as I was pretty angry at the time. A good friend reached out to Blizzie and smoothed things over, and next thing I knew, I had the refund. They sent too much to me, so I returned the difference.

  24. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/931747.html WHO: BlueBreed WHERE: InkBunny - https://inkbunny.net/BlueBreed (NSFW) WHAT: $10 colored single character image WHEN: Payment was agreed upon and sent on April 5, 2016. As of now, the artist hasn't responded to any of my attempts to contact them. PROOF: The initial agreement - http://i.imgur.com/mr3UyHv.png The PayPal payment - http://i.imgur.com/CVv6vgT.png A tweet I sent to him asking him about the status of the commission queue - http://i.imgur.com/DCwSk1X.png His old Journal about offering refunds, where I posted about messaging him a day after I tweeted to him - http://i.imgur.com/nInfpih.jpg A second message chain I sent him in case he wasn't able to see the original one for some reason - http://i.imgur.com/v4wtuI9.png EXPLAIN: BlueBreed had a limited-time special going on for $10 colored commissions. After sending the payment on April 5th, he put me on his commission list. On the June 29th, he posted a journal saying that people who hadn't received as much as a sketch from him can ask for a refund because he was gonna be busy with work and school for a while. I decided to wait on it because I understand that artists are still people and things can't always go as smooth and fast as expected. After a few months and seeing a handful of images posted along with a journal for Pay-What-You-Want sketches, I decided to ask him for an update on October 13th just to make sure I haven't been forgotten about, and never received an answer. He was doing streams and working on personal Halloween stuff while posting journals and Tweets, so it's not like he was off the grid. I thought that maybe he just hadn't been paying attention to his messages on InkBunny, so I sent him a tweet on October 25th asking him about the commission and that I had messaged him a little while back. Still no response. I still gave him the benefit of the doubt for some reason, so I sent a different message asking about a refund on October 31st in case something happened to the first message and he couldn't access it, and then another message on November 4th to try and get his attention. He's still been streaming and decently active, but refused to even give me an update on a service I paid for.
  25. Naw, they really can't. That tiny chin? That's not a big cat trait, big cats have a pronounced chin. At least the flatness of the muzzle is more accurate, as is the nose, than the one Camaro got. The ears on the head also do not sit correctly for a cat on both this suit and Camaro's suit. If anything that suit says to mean the group doesn't know how to make big cat heads. And yes that's even counting cartoonish exaggeration. Fur of the type used should not have been offered to the client, that's on the Lemonbrat group, not on Camaro. Not to mention, it's clear whomever constructed with it was not familiar with the material. No work should have been done before a DTD was sent for a suit of this type. Once again, that's on the Lemonbrat group, not Camaro. None of this 'you can give us measurements but it won't be as good', there should have been a hard stop until the DTD was sent. This deadline should not have been agreed to the amount of time it took to pay off didn't give enough time to complete it. Camaro had nothing to do with how that head turned out, that all on the people that constructed it. Like I said for the lion above, there are key traits for big cats that are not present for either head. Their noses certainly aren't as pronounced like that and so separated from the muzzle. I still cannot believe you're doubling down on that tail. You made a hard S curved tail just because there was a few shots in the ref with a tiny curve in it. You know whomever did the construction went wrong on this one and you don't want to own up to it. The only thing that has not been proven or dis-proven clearly is the explicit issue with the chest. No one has provided the initial request form nor the emails related to it, to prove when or where changes were requested or made, so that's the only thing I cannot comment on. Your group has been doing this for a long time, these are all rookie mistakes that should not be happening to a group that's been around this long. And if the person doing the correspondence is not the same person that's doing the construction that needs to change.
