  1. Not impressed that in a journal she says she earned the money. I'm sorry but that money is not earned until the art is done.
  2. Definitely complicated feelings. This is not a fun situation. Having a character from a species that has an owner that treats you like that is horrible. Those tweets are so mean sounding. However, despite how the creator may act, you can't just....stop listening to their rules? You're using the species, and credit should still be given. And as said by others, you can still use the ref, with the credit given. So I don't agree that the OP is expected to lose out on all the work they did for this reference. It really seems like a situation where you need to rename the species, or even slight design changes to make it a hybrid of something else. This is just advice, since it seems like you need to get away from the creator with how they are acting, but you also can't just use it without following the rules.
  3. How was this resolved? I can't seem to find any update and would love to know :3
  4. Why did it have to be posted to an online art gallery? I imagine something like imgur could have worked, so only paypal would see the link, so it's not -quite- posted publicly. And you definitely do have that right, but when you agree to something else it looks pretty bad on you.
  5. The ability to delete is there, what they were trying to say is that deleting is against the rules of this particular site. Information on that is at the top of this post, but here's a direct link for you: https://artistsbeware.info/postedtoab/
  6. Not sure how I feel about this one. I see why you'd be disappointed, and I recommend to the artist to sketch out the idea and background before going in with lines to show the client. But your messages vs what you've written here is confusing to me. You don't seem to ever ask for an actual change. And for example, you wrote this in the post: "Their only response was "this is what it looks like zoomed in" (attachment 8 ) which is a big yikes because, not only was it low res if you did zoom in, but it's also the fact it's not the focus, is a big no-no." But, of course that's what their response was? Your question asked if it was big enough to zoom in, so they showed you. Your message didn't -actually- ask for it be changed. Your screenshots don't see you mention it being low resolution, so I have to assume you didn't mention it. If none of this was said, and you didn't actually straight up ask "can this be changed to being focused on them", I find it hard for the artist to know that's what you wanted. Maybe they should have poked, but it's quite possible they didn't think anything was wrong, text can be read so differently for each person.
  7. Hm, keep in mind that it a was long weekend holiday if they celebrate it, plus lots happening with covid. So I think a few days isn’t too worrisome yet. I’d wait until at least Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday for most, and maybe just poke them Tuesday night to politely say you’re waiting on a response. For the future, try not to panic if it’s only been a few hours as you mentioned in your post. Even those who are very fast at responding can suddenly get busy or head to bed! :3 I usually wait two days before poking unless it’s more urgent, like a deadline.
  8. Is this commission not paid for yet, and that's why you're nervous about it?
  9. There's more info at the bottom! :3 "If after contacting the creator for a refund, Patreon may offer refunds at our sole discretion, based on the circumstances. In order to be eligible to receive a refund, you'll need to contact Patreon within 10 days of the charge processing on your statement." So I suppose you need to contact Patreon directly. It's likely passed those 10 days so maybe they can't do much but you can try.
  10. Oh! Also, they say they only received a sketch and then a basically finished piece. There's no caps for that, is it possible to see what progress you showed them? Personally I think it's ok to jump progress like that if you're willing to change things (which, to me, you seemed willing to do) but I know some clients get pretty nervous to ask for changes in that case. If it was jumped like that, maybe seeing if you can offer more progress images would help this for the future?
  11. Is it just me having a bit of a hard time understanding them? I don't mean this as judgement on grammar/writing/English, but I can see how hard this would be to fix if it's difficult to understand what the person is saying/asking for. (Some things were easy to understand, like the nose, but some of it I wasn't sure what they were asking for) It's also sad to read, to me it sounded like you were more then happy to change things and fix it, but they're upset that they decided to accept it as is while they weren't happy, then changed their mind but was upset? I'm also confused by the overall conversations, because one minute they sound like everything is fine, maybe a couple things to change, but then 180s to them being very upset, the art not being good at all. And kinda went back and forth between that? I dunno, overall I'm a little confused by it. Hopefully both of you can find people to work that work well for you!
  12. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this one :< Only thing is that I really wish the artist had declined the character change, Or charged for a new take on the piece. I do think that request shouldn't really have been asked since it was a concern about how long it's taking, since that just made it take much longer.
  13. Is it possible they sent you the wrong files? Because on their trello it shows a full body image and looks more cleaned up: https://trello.com/c/4YKmeyqj/89-vyruskt-lingerie-demon Or maybe that was done to fix this problem you posted and it's just not been updated here yet.
  14. Based on your responses, I would say just finish the art. Are you needing info from them or anything? Cause if not, I don't see why you need contact with them at this point, since it's just time to finish the art and you send the final. At least in a case like this where it's almost done. If you have their email or paypal email, I'd also send the final file there.
