  1. HI ZI I do a few of these types of work-for-hire jobs here and there. General rule of thumb is 3 - 5x commission cost to sell out rights. Usually a simple contract will do just fine, but you can also use the copyright transfer form via Legalzoom.
  2. That would be up for you to decide if your money is worth it to you. Not the community at large. It fits within our submission guidelines, so if you want to pursue it then the option is there.
  3. Goodness gracious. They're really racking up these bewares. With prices like those it's no wonder.
  4. This has been downgraded to a Caution since the artist seems to not be fighting you on the refund. If anything develops we can upgrade it.
  5. Just as a note we are getting the original note sent in June. 🙂 It was on a previous submission, but it had fuzzy date.
  6. Wow. First a very personal story that is no one's business, then turning on a dime when they realized they can bail with your money. Quite the whiplash, and a beware well warranted.
  7. @ALenny While you are welcome to respond, please note that we ask submitters to leave off the personal drama and community fighting and keep it transaction focused. We're going to ask the same of you. Also, if you have a response take your time to write it out. We will no longer be approving multiple comments in a row from you as they are spammy. Pebbles will not be notified of a comment until we hit the manual approve button. This is a forum. Not a chat server.

  9. You know a lot of artists, myself included, are struggling mentally during these times. The uncertainty is rough, especially when family becomes ill. With that said, if they can't complete your work that's fine, but it's also important for artists to know their limits and offer refunds when necessary. I agree with @VosurAekira but contact the artist first. You can either: If you want the art have them refund and then you send the payment again so the protection window starts again. Mind you Paypal takes out fees for refunds, so do this with the understanding that both of you will lose money. Ask for a refund. File a chargeback if they refuse a refund, and you don't want to wait.
  10. Yes, we discussed it via PM, and I forgot to fix it prior to approval.

  12. Edited your post to fix the text. It was unreadable on the dark theme.
  13. It's really not "just a trade". It's still a fair amount of money on your end. Unfortunately, there's not going to be a solution that avoids confronting them. You can offer for something they don't have to make since production seems to be their problem, and instead opt for merch or fursuit parts. Or they can produce what they owe you, or give you a refund for the dollar amount. If you're absolutely backed into a corner you can submit an AB.
  14. This has been downgraded to a Caution due to the fact that you have a refund. However, if I'm reading this correctly you got a full refund?

  17. Yea that's right! My simple designs end up being about $250 per design. They don't take me too much time at all.
  18. Hiya! I have a few designs I've sold commercially. All of them have been with smaller sellers, and I personally just stick to selling out my rights. You can do licensing for X amount of time, but in the case of the designs I did they were custom done for the shop that is using them. They were 5x commission cost to completely sell out my rights.
  19. While we don't mind comments like this, it ultimately helps the community if you make a post of your own. Adding comments won't add to an artist's tag weight. The more individual tags that they get the more their tag gets weighted on the tag page.
  20. In the interest of being fair there's not enough evidence to level that kind of accusation. Given how bizarre it was to have someone arguing for the artist in what is, honestly, a very cut and dry beware, I asked the OP what the legal name on the Paypal was. All the digging I've done doesn't positively ID them as the artist. It could be a friend, follower, ect. However, both accounts were made within a few minutes of each other, and the first one was validated near instantly. So, this wasn't a situation where someone made an account and it got hung up in validation so they made a second. Edit: I also want to be clear that users are welcome to criticize the OP of posts. In some cases they would be valid. However, these comments caught my attention from just how out of the ordinary they were in addition to how new the accounts were. Edit2: After more digging, I've found the artist on Facebook and located someone with the same name as GreenYeen's email. So it's a family member of the artist. At least, it's their email that was used.
  21. @GreenYeen19 @Koifox In case you're not aware we have the ability to see IP addresses, emails, and what devices you've logged in from. Do not use two accounts to make it seem like more than one person agrees with you. Your GreenYeen account will be closed.
