About Me

  1. I paid for a custom Cinnadog from byronbae on 1/18/2019, which were $40 base price + extra for other trait add-ons. The total transaction was $45 after adding 1 $5 trait to the custom base price. They mentioned there would possibly be a long wait time due to taking multiple slots. deviantART journal, claim proof, and payment proof below. I waited with no update until I received notification on 5/3/2019, where byronbae let everyone still pending know that they were having IRL issues, but should still expect sketches soon. Hearing nothing for several more months, I messaged them again on 9/15/2019 asking for status updates. Byronbae replied that they would be able to potentially get their queue done in October. On 11/28/2019, with no other updates in October and November, I asked for a refund. I received a reply that byronbae was willing to refund me but had no income, so I would need to wait until January. I let them know what I paid and waited for an update. I do not follow byronbae directly on deviantART but checked their page to see if they were active, and noticed they posted a journal on 1/3/2020 mentioning the outstanding commission issue. They claimed that they would be working on refunds and pinging people involved. As of 1/27/2020, no communication has occurred and no refund has been issued. I commented to ask status updates, but it has now been over 1 year since the initial transaction.
  2. I first began the commissioning process with Beasthorizon back in February of 2019, where we spoke about what I wanted and they told me that a head would take 4-8 weeks : This agreement was reached on February 2nd, then I was not responded to for several weeks. When I reached out again they were able to answer within the day, claiming they had been injured but that my project still interested them, and that in 2 weeks my project would be first in line. This would set a completion date of roughly May 8th to June 3rd. Note: I say 'claiming' because they were able to finish a separate project without communicating to me at all. Over the next few days we worked out a 3d model for the head, and the base was printed after I paid my half down. I was told that they would contact me once the horns were finished being printed. I was never contacted regarding that. At this time, they posted on their twitter about making a model for a 3d head, and then finished the head. In their sales post they mentioned a new email to contact them at which was an email I had not been given. Since they made that tweet they deleted it, but I have a screenshot of the email I sent them after they posted it. Note: This is on July 26, already almost 2 months past the original expected completion date. My head was mysteriously halfway done without them ever contacting me. This has been a series of red flags I ignored because I was happy to see progress had been made. I am told by them in this email that everything but the LEDs will be finished by July 30th. On August 9th I reached out to them because they have mentioned on their twitter about opening commissions once again. I ask for a second set of horns, thinking my head is nearly finished. They agree to adding on the second set of horns. Looking at the time stamps, you can see that after they spoke to me on August 9th, they then never answered again for months. The time stamps read: Aug 31, Sep 23, and Oct 6 on this thread. On November 1st I sent another email to them, detailing the timeline of events up to that point and asking them to respond or face a chargeback and/or beware. They answered the next day, apologizing and offering that my head be finished or shipped as-is for the price of what I had already paid. I stressed the need to have my head by November 19th, and did not hear back from them. On November 13th, I reached out to them on Telegram after finding it and other information online that had been posted. I warned them about how I found that information, which has been censored here. They claimed they were finishing the final touches on my head and asked where it should be shipped. As of January 2020, I have not received any form of communication from them. They are still active on Telegram and have moved from Twitter to Etsy. If you go to any of their Etsy listings, it can be seen by scrolling down to the bottom left that they have been active on there as recently as December 19, 2019. They are offering customs there, while ignoring my continued attempts at contacting them. I have offered compromises wherein I pay more past the down payment to receive my head, still I am ignored. Shortly after January began, they removed my access to the fursuit head WIP folder, meaning they are aware of my attempts at contacting them and the subsequent Beware I was forced to write when they continued to avoid me.
  3. Besped sent me a note on FA wanting to do an animation commission for me. We then continued to talk on Discord about the commission. I agreed on having an animation done of two of my characters. They said that the animation would take 1-2 months. Then they sent me an invoice, and I paid it. They added that there would be weekly updates. After about a week, they sent me an update. I approved the sketched 3-4 frames, and agreed to add on another bit of animation. (The WIP sketch is no longer present due to them deleting it just today.) They sent me an invoice for the additions, and I paid it. I didn't get another update for another few weeks. This update added a few new frames, but did not have any changes to the rest of it. I approved that update, and they disappeared again. (The WIP sketch is no longer present due to them deleting it just today.) They disappeared again through the Holidays. I messaged them again after the new year. I did not get a response for weeks. Once I messaged again, they responded, stating that they'd be gone for another week or so. At this point, I've asked them for a refund both on Discord and PayPal. On Discord, they said just to go through PayPal. I have not received a response as of yet on PayPal. I will update this post once things start moving forward again.
  4. I was commissioned by blake wusky to do a piece for him and as I finished up the piece he contacted me asking for me to return the money so he could urgently pay for his sick dog , I choose to accept this a genuine excuse and his promise to return the money in a week or two seemed fair (I was guilt tripped because who wants to be the cause of a dog dying because you don't send someone back money) I never got the money and when I inquired about payment he blocked me.
  5. On July/23/2019, Exactly 6 months ago, I bought out a set of YCH Telegram stickers from Kaseypaws, proof of which can be seen below. I have not received a single note, DM, or any other kind of communication since I have paid this artist, and around a week and a half ago I decided to check up on them. I monitored this note and noticed that It wasn't read for an entire 5 days, but when it was, I haven't gotten a response since. I could understand If the artist has something going on in their life or If they're still working on the stickers, but I'd like to at least be told that rather than being swept under the rug like I'm stupid/gullible. They've been continuously active on both Twitter and Twitch since I sent the note, which solidifies my belief that my commission has been/is being neglected. I'm willing to give updates on the situation as It's either resolved or when I'm pushed to ask for a refund.
  6. I've met through this client through discord server as I've noticed that he was looking for animators and decided to work with him. Everything was going great as the client was providing me with references and etc. The commission was a walking bouncy boob cycle and the second option was my choice which was the shaking butt animation... What I didn't know and it was something that he told me last minute after putting all of details and working on the second animation was that he wanted it as a sequence all together which I've declined because that was over the budget limit that we agreed on. Until the client kept demanding for me to work on their project which I've declined till they paid me amount I've asked (which is half upfront and the other for when the project was completed) for which eventually the client did cover the first half of the payment. During the process the client demanding as they kept asking for constant changes to the project which wasn't the part that made this person a bad client in my view. But the client requesting changes to where there's no end result. Also, I've placed an hold on the client's project in order to work on a different project for a bit before going back to this one since I've had another commission to work on at the time before resuming the animation project. During the process he kept asking for animators including from me which I've gave him the name of another artist who was my business and romantic partner so that the client could chat with him. Everything was fine until I've noticed that the client was using my partner to replace me for a project the person already paid for and I was already in the process of working on (without consulting with me first). Then things went downhill when the project was completed and all of a sudden the client couldn't afford it, so I had to cancel the project. Before the fall out, this person was using their personal issues to gain sympathy from others. This client is still seeking artists to commission while advertising their condition and not having the funding to pay artists! Beginning of commission: Changes: Asking to work on comm 3 days later: Looking for other animators: Request for donations in DMs: Unable to send final payment. Proof of first payment:
  7. This is something I've put off writing for a while, but I figure it will never get out of my head if I don't write one of these. At the end of 2017 I commissioned BadphometArt (now cowboyote) over twitter to redraw a tarot card in their style with two of my characters. At first communications went very well. Julius seemed kinda excited to work with the idea I had and was even throwing out their own ideas for the picture. They told me it probably wouldn't be finished until late January 2018, and I was perfectly fine with waiting that long. we agreed on a price of $75, but I felt like that was a little low and ended up tipping an additional $35; bringing the total amount paid for this commission up to $110 That was when the first break in communication happened. They had a trello, but did not send me a link to it until I asked, at which point they told me that they had somehow not added my commission to it. That was weird, but I figured it was just a simple mistake at the time. (You can see my card on the trello here.) After that the only updates I got from them in general came from lurking their twitter. It seemed like they had a lot of personal things going on, but they also seemed to be actively working on commissions so I just waited patiently for a message from Julius. However, things became a little odd when my commission suddenly moved to the "finished" tab a month after the stated deadline while still having no image attached to it and not getting a single message from them this whole time. The next time they talked to me was in April. This is after their accounts had been abandoned and it seemed like they left the furry community completely. To summarize what was said, they were overloaded on commissions and were starting to refund people. I was a little say to hear that I wouldn't miraculously get this art I haven't seen a single pixel of for months, but I wished them the best anyways. Then I received a message a month later asking if I had gotten the refund. I hadn't. Then another one 4 days later asking again. Still no. Then a third message asking the same thing and also asking to confirm how much the refund was supposed to be. I wanted to see this over with and get some kind of refund so I just said the $75 and left the extra $35 as just a tip. Apparently that was still too much money, though, as I never heard from them again or got any money back. It was frustrating to have them tease me along for a few weeks before vanishing again. I figured that was the end of it until I was looking through old DMs and saw... ....I had been blocked and they rebranded as cowboyote. Looks like I'm not getting that refund now. And at this point, I'm not counting on it at all. There are things I could have done better. I should have pestered them a little more, and that's what I would recommend other people do too if they find themselves in a similar situation with Julian or any other artist. Having personal troubles is no excuse to ignore customers for weeks and lie about your intentions to give refunds. If they cannot afford to refund they can definitely afford to apologize to myself and all the other commissioners they failed to complete art/refunds for. Twitter logs: (omitting my description of what I wanted because it is very personal/vent-y)
  8. Paid in full for 2 Hellboy commissions March 2012, with high level specs confirmed but no completion timeline. Received jpeg of one prelim May 2013. Subsequent attempts to obtain status across multiple platforms have been ignored. I have no hope that i will ever receive the commissions or a refund. Larry doesn't seem to be active in the commission market but in case he ever cones back, here is my experience.
  9. Around April I posted a thread on toyhouse asking if anyone could do a custom of my stardew valley character. Thyouo posted their art examples and seeing as I really liked what I saw, I reached out to them. We discussed the details and I paid for the custom on April 21st 2019 as shown by the invoice down below. However after three months of radio silence I was beginning to get worried, so sent I message asking for an update. At first we discussed me getting a refund, but at Thyouo's suggestion, I opted for them to finish my custom instead That was the last I heard from Thyouo. I've tried reaching out by sending them a message on toyhouse and via email but I haven't got any response. ive also tried contacting them on insta where theyre active but having gotten a response. At this point there's nothing I can really do. I missed the window to do a paypal chargeback because it's been 7 months and it looks like Thyouo is dead on all of their accounts. All I can do is warn other people in case Thyouo pops up again.
  10. Sen contacted me through telegram on December 2nd to claim a YCH slot. The price was set to $15 for a slot, the last photo is the completed YCH. I sent myself his reference sheet on December 2nd, and finished the art the same day. He contacts me on December 4th for a second commission but this time its for him and his GF sona. I sent myself both reference sheets and complete the commission on December 6th, On the exact dates I completed the commissions he posts both onto his Instagram --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chargebacks: On December 24th 2019 I received an email for Paypal explaining that Sen has opened a dispute against both transactions that I eventually lost on January 12th, 2020. ------------------------------------------------------------- I contacted Sen multiple times explaining that he needs to cancel the disputes and that he was stealing from me, I also asked to delete the images from his IG. which he eventually did. 11. On January 5th, I had entered into an agreement for a custom texture/skin commission usable in Second Life for the amount of 19k L$ (Approx $75). This was to include a full body texture for both the male and female version of my silver fox character, of which references were provided. Additionally, this project was to include textures for two heads (Canis and Doggo), ears, legs, and implied related typical components. The estimated wait time that was given was 2 weeks. The artist replied via discord on Jan 8th to mention various family-related problems and other issues that was pose a delay, but then contacted me on Jan 10th to tell me the project was "almost done." No WIPs were provided prior to this statement, and I'd seen no work whatsoever. WIPs were explicitly mentioned when we first discussed the project. I was eventually provided some images while out on mobile where I tried to direct concerns about missing or erroneous markings and details. At no point through the process of edits did I approve a final version, as she had also indicated that the "blending" and fur "texture" would be added layer. Regardless, she delivered a "final product" while I was not available to comment or reply, and when asked about it, verified that she felt the project was complete. Inspection of the delivered items showed no inclusion of the male version of the skin. Further, no applier was included for the Canis or Doggo heads. This is especially problematic as the Canis requires one unless a user can somehow manually apply the texture to every single possible animated state of the head one state at a time; simply dragging and dropping the texture on the head only applies it to the specific state it is. This makes the texture for the head largely unusable on its own. The colors of the delivered skin did not match expectations or references, nor did the markings and patterns, especially on the head (at least visible in the single, static 'frame' shown when the head is dropped on the ground). No textures for ears were included, nor were any for 3rd party legs or tail (nor did she even ask which of any of these I wanted to use). Genitals were crudely painted on the female body skin, which are entirely not necessary (and conflict) with the 3rd party body that I had stated I use; this was not a detail that was requested, nor were they shown on the few WIP images I did receive. When confronted and asked whether this was supposed to be the final version, they replied with "yup" and a laughing face, then took insult when I attempted to express my dissatisfaction with the result or pointed out missing components, including making a statement of "I don't cater to customers who insult my work." They claimed several times through the resulting conversation that I "approved" her work, but after repeatedly disagreeing with her on that, she went the route of implying that my lack of immediate response or not telling her to stop was considered by her as approval. The notion that a customer can be busy at work, driving their car, or otherwise being physically unavailable to comment and have that used as a substitute for explicit approval should be cause for alarm for any potential customer. A refund was requested, even partial, to which the artist immediately stated "in my tos it states once a product is done I don't offer refunds." This notion is in dispute as I did not accept or approve of a finished state of the project, nor did we ever agree to any "terms of service" anywhere in our conversation. The user has blocked my communications with them on SL, Discord, and Twitter, refusing any possibility for further contact. I have deleted the items from my inventory, as well as any items they were applied to as part of my own agreement regarding this issue. A fraud report has been filed with Linden Labs. Screenshots:
  12. The client appeared in one of my Picarto livestreams and was impressed by my work. The client asked about my commission prices which I told the client to private message me on discord so that we could talk about it. The client messaged me and I've submitted my link and this person asked if I do logo designs of which I've told the client "Yes I do but the prices vary depending on the complexity" They gave me ideas of what they wanted and I've worked on the idea via Picarto stream since I requested that I could work on the idea live. During the process, the client did make inappropriate signals that I've brushed off as my main focus was to get the job done. Once the project was completed, I've showed the client the final results of which they've approved it. I've asked for payment and that's when things got ugly as the client made tons of excuses as to why they couldn't pay off the full amount. I asked that they could put down 50% of what I asked for and another amount the next time the person got paid..... They've only sent 25% of what was asked for then disappeared until recently of 2020 when the client bragged about their new office setup. So once I've spoke up the, client made another excuse of why they couldn't pay off the amount asked.
  13. On the date December 31st, 2019 I was messaged by Lori Peters for a commission of a headshot. The headshot I advertised only cost $10 USD at that current time. She claimed interest for the headshot, asking if I was still open for commissions. I explained to her that I was, but it would be a 2-3 day turn around time. Normally, I do send invoices but she did ask me for my e-mail. I informed her that it would be $10 USD. She verbalized understanding w/o question, and sent a picture verifying that payment was sent. Upon the verification, I then had informed her that I would start the piece. I had sent multiple works in progress once she had sent the reference to me. Once the piece was completed, I sent it to the e-mail address that she asked for me to send it to. That was the end of the transaction. I thanked her for choosing to do business with me, and that the transaction was indeed complete. Today, on January 1st, 2020 I recieved an e-mail from (I am not putting the person's name out there due to the wishes of not wanting their name out there). The E-mail states "Hi there Danielle, My name is ------ and I have been scammed by your niece, Lori. On the 31st I sent $15 to your PayPal as Lori’s request - I used this email address. She had sold me a character on Instagram that was not hers to sell as she did not own. This is scamming. I politely request that you send the $15 back to me or I may have to raise this with PayPal as a scam and it may block your PayPal account. I really am sorry as you’re probably not aware that she has scammed multiple people using your PayPal. Also I do apologise as it isn’t your fault but I really would rather to settle this between us. Thank you, ---------." So upon my confusion, I stated that I do not have a niece named Lori. Which, in reality I am a 21 year old. I do have a 16 year old niece, but she does not associate with the fandom what so ever, and she does not use paypal. After putting the pieces together --- this is what happened. Lori claimed to be me, while her and my transaction were going on and sent my paypal to this person for an adopt that they had no right in selling. The person sent the payment to my paypal thinking that I was Lori's Aunt or Lori herself. While I was thinking it was Lori that sent the payment to me. Pictures are attached. I am currently resolving this issue, as I did not have any knowledge before hand about this issue until today (after) artwork was completed. So, now I am attempting to hash this all out. The e-mail that is on there, shows proof of her claiming to be me to get the transaction process started. My e-mail is public knowledge.
  14. So, the artist initially had posted an emergency 20 art pieces for 50 dollars deal in order to get medical treatment for their pet rats. Originally I was told I'd get extra 10 stickers, and/or an icon. I was told I'd get a refund after 30 days if 10/20 weren't finished. Over a few months I received a few sketches, but nothing was ever completed. I was promised a refund on 11/10/2019, but on that date he told me his job didn't work out, and it wasn't worth getting a job until the summer. I opened a paypal dispute and offered to let him do 10 of the original 20 (or 30 if you countthe extras he promised me) . After he refused to try I asked him to do 3 fullbody pics (same quality as stickers,no background) and one fullbody with a background. Again, I received sketches but nothing finished. I was asked to cancel my dispute as it was stressing him, and ultimately he never finished anything, and provided paypal a fraudulent tracking number with my digital art. He has since gone against his word and completely stopped working... My bank is pending a result on 01/13/2020 for my dispute. Any advice as to how I can get a refund for sure, or how I can get some art or something? This has been over 4 months I haven't seen this money. Unless he refunds me in the summer or my dispute pull through I dont think I'll ever see my monies again Mod note: We had to censor some extremely personal information that the OP missed on censoring.
  15. The Artist was taking commissions back in July and I desired to get one. It started off well with me giving references and then the exchange of payment came through. after a little bit I had asked on a progress update(Prob could of waited longer on that first update request), a few days later they do reply. No big deal they were busy with life. I wait longer and still no word, I ask again for any sort of update. No response for awhile, assuming more life stuff I decide to wait more. Then over the course of 6 months it has been attempts of getting any sort of update and met with pure silence.
  16. This is my first time writing something like this so I apologize if it's a little all over the place. For winter I have been taking holiday icon commissions, mostly to fund my medical bill expenses and my medications. Nothing was suspicious at first, everything seemed fine. I normally take my commissions through Telegram and sell there, so this wasn't odd in the slightest. They proceed to then ask me if they could get their character drawn, to which I agree. About three days later, I end up finishing their holiday icon and send them the file. (You can see that they are still using the art as their profile picture on Telegram as well) Everything was fine, though today at around 5pm I got an email from PayPal saying that a case was opened. I was not expecting this at all, as I had finished their icon 2 weeks prior and we had no issues. I have never had this happen before, but after talking with someone I'm close to, I figured out what to do. I ended up putting my own info into the case, stating that they had paid for the piece on the 5th of this month, and then I finished on the 8th of this month. I had included a screenshot of our conversation to PayPal. They put this under 'unauthorized purchase' even though we had clearly discussed this over Telegram and they confirmed that they did indeed send the money over to my PayPal. I'm not sure what to do, or how long this will take (it said it could take up to 30 days, but I just don't know if there's a general time before that where they usually solve this?) Any advice/help would mean a lot to me, as this has never happened to me before and I'm not 100% sure what to do at this point. Do I just wait it out and hope? Thank you for reading this!!
  17. Oh April 24th of this year, i had commissioned Jazz-o for a 3 way collab commission with two other people. I was given a deadline of 2 weeks. I will admit fault on my part for failing to follow up after 2 weeks but i will admit i had completely forgotten about the commission at the time. When i did remember, it had been 4-5 months since the commission had been ordered. When i did remember, i had contacted Jazz-o on Discord to request an update on the commission's progress. I was informed that things were on hold due to a recent death in the family and was told it would get completed. Nothing was said to imply the art was being worked on. Not long after, i had a change of heart and decided i no longer wanted the artwork. Under the impression that the work still hadn't been started, i contacted Jazz-o to request a full refund, to which she agreed. She informed me she didn't have the money to refund me that day, but said she'd be able to get the money back to me in 1-2 months. I agreed to wait. 2 months pass and i receive a note from Jazz-o on deviantART claiming the artwork was now almost completely finished and that she could only offer me a $10 refund for what hadn't been done yet. I find out that the sketch had actually been finished at the time i requested the refund and simply wasn't informed of it. I had to remind her that i stated i did not want the art anymore. I did receive the artwork instead of the agreed upon refund, but i did not want it and made that clear twice before receiving it. I'm posting this because there are several other cases of unfulfilled obligations on Jazz-o's end and i'd like to warn anyone who may or may not have considered commissioning her about the possible outcome of doing so.
  18. In late June I commissioned DevilRush to draw 2 full color pictures for a friend's birthday that was coming up in a couple weeks. We discussed the details of the commission over Discord, although I originally approached them through Twitter. Their Twitter was banned, and they had to make a new one. All records of that time have been lost. Original discussion went well. DR seemed happy to work on the pictures and when I mentioned it was a friend's birthday, they said that they would hurry them up. The first sketch was delivered in a couple days. Immediately after this, however, DevilRush disappeared from the internet for over a month. There are unfortunately no records of this, as their twitter was deleted after the fact. From gathering information from other people who had commissioned them, it appears that DR took the money from opening 20 commission slots and used it to buy themselves a new tablet. Then, they took on an undisclosed "big project" for their college and had to devote 100% of their time towards it. I messaged them over twitter several times in the next couple months, but got no response. After 2 months of radio silence towards me, DR started posting personal pictures to their pixiv and new Twitter. After confronting them about this, they said they hadn't forgotten and had been working on other commissions that they'd not posted publicly. They also offered to pay me back the price of the commission after it was done. I declined, saying I just wanted the commission I'd paid for. The last correspondence I had with DR was on October 24. Since then, they have been dipping in and out of Twitter, posting old images. Recently they've posted WIPs of personal works, which prompted me to message them again. I have not received any response as of December 8th. It is too late to issue a chargeback, and I am completely done.
  19. This is my first time doing an AB, so hopefully I'm doing it correctly. This was on my old account on FA (SkaalReaper), however, I have moved accounts since then and am now under HybridiumX. August 17th 2019 I was sent a note by the user Ghost244 regarding a base ych I had for offer. As with any of my ychs, I like to make sure they've read the info on the post and have all the info needed. They're usually very quick for me to do, so I usually finish them the same day they're commissioned (unless I'm working or busy, but it's usually not the case and definitely wasn't the case with this one as they were both finished same day). They commissioned me twice on August 17th 2019 for $10 each for the same ych but with 2 different characters. I have links to the posted ych's below on FurAffinity. YCH 1 - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/32699397/ YCH 2 - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/32702749/ More recently (Nov 29th 2019) I had gotten a message from PayPal saying there was a dispute on the charges from them. I sent them a message to ask what was going on since I had finished the ychs for them and had even asked if everything looked good before posting them. I had gotten a reply from them saying they had no idea what was going on and were trying to fix it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited. A day later it was pushed through and my account had been down from both the chargeback and PayPal taking extra money on top of it. I had messaged them asking if they were still working on it but it was read with no reply. I continued to give them a few days between notes and each time they would read and not reply. Finally I gave them a last message that I was going to post the beware in hopes they would try to reply or something but they yet again read and failed to reply. I've never had to do this before so I'm hoping I have put everything together properly.
  20. So back in 2018 at FWA I commissioned Kenner for two badges, one for myself and the other for my SO. I was told that we could pick them up Monday before they left but unfortunately we had to leave Sunday night. I provided them with an address where they could send the badges once they were finished but we never received them. A year of waiting later I get back in contact with Kenner and ask for updates, I get told that they're being worked on or sent to me and nothing happens for months. I'm told I would receive scans, nothing. After those months of waiting I gave them an ultimatum, show me that something has been done or I'll be requesting a refund and sharing the chat logs that I've kept to as many places as possible. Doing that got me pictures of the badges actually finished, so now all they had to do was mail them to me and I provided my addresses where they could send me the badges (I moved so I made sure to give them the updated address). Now I'm about to move again, I gave them a day to have the badges to me by and told them again that if I didn't get the badges, I'd be sharing the evidence that I have of them not following through on their commission. Now that time has come and I am following through.
  21. Edit 12.18.19: Mastercard has sided in the artist's favor due to a 120 day filing limit. <<To moderater, i might need help explaining things, or explination of what might be wrong with my claim, I or you can delete this, if needed >>> In July 16, 2019.I had posted via polycount, a job/commission. Trying to get help for a personal project with animating and help with refining a 3D model. When I was contacted Mr.Davis sent me several youtube videos and a website of their previous work. After reviewing it, I had decided to choose Mr.Davis for the project in question. Many things during our back-and-forth email had let me know we were both in understanding of what was project was. From there, we had decided to go through the bulk of the coversation through Discordapp.com. The following week we had hashed out all details and 'trimmings' of what was to be done and further discussed when prompted. the total cost was to be 1200 USD. After both of is agreeing to a "half now, half later" payment process. Mr. Davis went to work. During the same mention week. We had chatted on what needed to be fixed and what had been completed thus far. Then, a very long unwarrented, hiatus started. I waited 3 week with no contact of any kind. After trying to contact them a decent amount of times. Only to be told that by Mr. Davis had not been working on the agreed-to, project hardly at all due to other work taking over too much. I understood having too much to do and so I left it at that. I waited 2 more weeks. After trying for contact again. Mr. Davis stated that they they were, just now, visiting family, with little acknowledgement of the hiatus mentioned prior. Mr. Davis said after two weeks they would be back to getting back on track. I waited the alloted two weeks and then tried to contact them to see if all was well. No responses were had for 1 month, after the claimed 2 week, requested delay. It has been a total of 3 months trying to get in contact of my project or progress. I have filed a Paypal refund, only to be denied. Paypal stating that "I had recieved what was commissioned". I did not. As of now, I want to try and get in contact with Mr. Davis to see what went wrong. As, Mr. Davis has blocked me on Discorapp.com. I want to either get my money back or get what I was promised. If anyone could help with this, I would appreciate it.
  22. Commissioned him for a couple NSFW images of mine and a friends OC proceeded to delay my request constantly then refuse to reply after a few months until eventually blocking me and keep the money also keeps changing @ URL's to continue scamming others The paypal name isnt his real name as he keeps changing the paypal name along with his twitter to remove any breadcrumb trails to them also used random artists art as his own when showing examples of his work
  23. Who: Mo Twitter: MugsTheAlien, MugsTheGoblin, MoTheGoblin FA: PigeonsAndPeaches Instagram: shrimpgoblin What: Sticker Pack, $125 Where: Twitter Why: Misleading queue presentation, trying to break own TOS, lying about/omitting parts of our interaction in a Commissioner Beware Short version: I commissioned under the impression Mo had a reasonable-length queue. I then watched them do multiple adopts and personal art without any explanation or reason for the delay on my work (or anyone else’s). When I asked for a refund (in accordance with TOS) every attempt was made to discourage me from it until I pressed enough to get them to agree. I later gave in and agreed to continue the commission against my better judgment, accepting stickers in place of the original in hopes that it would help clear the air on the original concept. My commission was subsequently rushed and I was made to feel the villain for asking for updates and that it be finished within the buyer protection window. They left the drop shadow and stroke off the stickers and refused to let me add them myself. When I expressed I felt this was unfair, they did a beware on me with misleading and outright wrong information. Long version: In early June, my partner Ri bought an adopt (Hardy) from Mo as a surprise gift for me. I got in contact with Mo to get the name and details added to the ref sheet. In the course of our conversation, they convinced me to get a commission from them of the character. I’ll be honest and say I felt a little guilty because I dropped the whole “I might commission” thing and then kinda felt like I should. That’s on me. I really shouldn’t have commissioned under pressure. So, I went ahead and commissioned. The commission was promised at around 2 months. Which I wasn’t in a rush, but I figured with the small amount of commissions on their queue, it wouldn’t be too long. Mo did not mention to me that their queue was WAY out of date, leading me to believe there wasn’t much ahead of me, especially since they added my project almost immediately. In early September, Mo posted that their Trello was not up to date. I waited a couple weeks, thinking there were just a few things missing or something that had been taken after my commission. Then I checked in with them on Sep 17th. They verified that it still wasn’t up to date. I waited quietly, hoping this would be updated soon, but I was starting to get pretty stressed and worried. And resentful. In the time I was waiting to hear or see anything, Mo posted plenty of adopts and personal artwork, and advertised constantly for more commissions. I have nothing against artists having off days, doing personal work, etc., but there’s something very shady when you’re constantly open for commissions, your queue is out of date, and nothing you post seems to be related to completing or even working on commissions. I was seriously considering asking for a refund when I received a message from Mo’s manager on Oct 7, asking what I had commissioned, when, etc. Tabby (the manager) was updating Mo’s queue and rearranging things. I started to think that maybe there was some chance I’d get my stuff. After the queue settled out, I noticed there were a lot of people placed ahead of me, and certain people had been marked as a priority, but I was not one of them despite being one of the oldest comms in the queue. After waiting another several days, I reached out to see if I could arrange a refund (and yes, understanding that it wouldn’t be immediate and that it would not be in full). It was immediately demanded that I explain why. I explained that I felt I had been misled regarding the amount of stuff in front of me and that I was uncomfortable with all the stuff getting done ahead of me and the personal art. I was told why the delay was justified, including that they’d taken comms for “seasonal” things, were doing “minor” edits, the queue already was out of date, etc. I was told they weren’t “comfortable” giving me a refund since they’d started (note again I didn’t say I wanted a 100% refund, nor did I ever; I fully expected to only get a partial refund but I just wanted to be done with it all). I will admit that I shouldn’t have accused them of slamming out the sketch without proof, but it did feel very weird that the sketch appeared about 30 minutes after I asked about a refund. Please keep in mind their comment about how their sketches are “always rough” for later. Once the pose was explained to me, I could kind of make out what they were drawing, but honestly I still couldn’t really see many details. They also made a comment about “finding it odd” that I was asking for a refund after they started the sketch. I’m not sure what they were implying, since I hadn’t seen the sketch? And I never said I wanted a refund on work already done? I also found myself having to justify not asking for a refund when Tabby initially contacted me, but nothing was said about that being an option or a “last chance” to ask for. I was also threatened with being blacklisted for canceling, despite that being stated nowhere in their TOS. The flurry of texts after, I honestly didn’t know how to respond. I was trying to handle things as gently as I could. I get that refunds are stressful (been there), so I didn’t have any intention of demanding anything. I was handed off to Tabby, which was fine. She added me to the refund list. I was told there would be a delay, and at that point I didn’t know what else to say. I mentioned my buyer protection being a ways out, and that I would be comfortable waiting that long. In response to my “ok,” it was pressed that it would be faster to get art done, which again felt like being pressured to not do a refund. (I honestly wasn’t in a hurry, but at that point there were like, 6 weeks left?) After a few days, I started to feel bad for asking the refund. I really do love Mo’s artwork, and I thought maybe a compromise could be reached. I reached out to Tabby about possibly getting stickers instead of the original request. I figured I’d get 5-6 for what I’d paid. I was offered 15 instead, which I thought was pretty cool. While I was waiting, I noticed a friend of mine had gotten a (non-holiday) full body done, and I couldn’t recall having seen their stuff in queue earlier. Fortunately, I was provided with the sketches a few days later, and I finally started to feel like things were going well and I could get my art and have something to enjoy. I gave feedback on the expression/pose on one sketch which was fixed. I was a little surprised, though, when the next WIP I got was full color, since their TOS states there’s a line phase to refine pose etc. Still, the only gripe I had was that since he was supposed to be “puppy eyes begging” in the sticker, I wanted his eyes shinier. I specified that I wanted it only on that particular expression, but Mo added eye shine to the rest of the stickers later on, too, which I thought was nice. This was the next WIP I got Mugs has characterized my requests for edits as “rude” and excessive. I will let the reader be the judge. You’ll see the next interaction I had above as well. Mo had posted that they were going to be on hiatus to “deal with some family stuff,” but that clients could reach out if they had concerns. Which I did when I saw it about two days later. I was made to feel as though I had no right to ask about this, as an artist deserves a vacation, etc. etc. Again, didn’t really know what I could say or do, so I just stayed quiet until I got more updates. I was, at that point, pretty annoyed with how I’d been treated, but I wasn’t in the mood to be confrontational as I figured it would just result in my stuff being rushed. Updates continued, again without any WIPs between sketch and color phases. I didn’t want to ask for major changes since I wasn’t getting a chance to give feedback on lines, but I didn’t feel like most of what I was asking for was out of line. Lettering should’ve been a matter of just drawing over again, and they were nearly invisible on my phone (showed up ok on my laptop, though). Over the weekend, I saw that the last three had been uploaded. With this one, I felt like the fingers on the top left were really rushed (and honestly the whole sticker)? And looked odd. I asked for a fix on that. I also asked if there would be drop shadows like in this example that Mo has been posting as an ad on twitter for $5/each YCH sticker packs. Telegram recommends a stroke and drop shadow on all stickers, which is especially important since you can put complex pics in the background, so it didn't seem unreasonable to expect that those would be added in the finishing phase. Asked if the fingers on one sticker of three could be corrected (the top left). They were very sausage-y and looked nothing like the sketch (though the sketch is very rough). After being told no, no shadows, I was told that if I was happy with it, they could send the link. I asked if it would be possible to get them without a background so I could add simple outlines, drop shadows. I’m told I’m “rude” for wanting that, and “oops, I forgot to include the packet link!” Which tells me the stickers had already been turned into a pack and I was expected to accept them before I was even asked what I thought. I’m also told “I understand you may want things to your liking”. Well, yes, yes I do want things to my liking, since I paid $125 for this custom commission. I’m told I’ll be blacklisted once “the conversation is over,” and it’s made pretty clear that there is no intention to further update my commission. I write back with my reply. After which, Mo makes a “beware on commissioner” making several false and misleading claims, including that I approved the sketch for the original full body commission (addressed in next section). I have been blocked by the artist, and no attempt to make these stickers usable or correct the fingers on the one sloppily done one seems likely. Mo’s “Beware on Commissioner” and Counterpoints: Mo made a beware on me, which was misleading and inaccurate, and even contained an outright lie. They also posted excerpts of our communications out of chronological order, making it even more confusing. Please refer to the Long Version section to review transcripts for proof of any claims I make. They claim I approved the sketch before requesting a refund. If you look at the transcript above, you can see I never even saw the sketch until after I asked the refund, and I certainly never approved anything. They themselves state they completed the sticker and got approval without running the lines past me. Blatantly outside of their TOS. They claim I asked for changes after the stickers were completed, but I had no choice since they went from very rough sketches to completed with no input from me in between. Remember they said to me that their sketches were “very rough”? How was I supposed to know from a Very Rough sketch how it would look completed? I asked for fairly minor changes, and I would have requested them at the line phase had I been given the chance (if the lines were the applicable phase). At no point did they inform me that these were difficult changes. They claim I was impolite in my messages. The last two, yeah, I got "impolite". But I feel that most of my feedback was very polite, and at no point did Tabby say I was rude. Here they state their hiatus was due to an injury, contradicting their earlier claim that it was a family issue. They state they’re not comfortable with me wanting things done “while can force a refund.” But why should I be comfortable commissioning if I have no protection? They have $125 of my money. I have… what, a hope that I’ll eventually get my art??? I asked for a drop shadow before the pack was sent to me. I was direct with my request, but I wouldn’t call it a demand. I was not told there would be no drop shadow, and the only example of Mo’s stickers contained one, so I’d say, yet again, I was misled. They stated their beware “is not an attack” but then send it out to their followers with inaccurate information mischaracterizing the entire transaction to 10x the followers I have. Not sure what else I’d call that. I also never used the phrase “force a refund.” It’s odd that my hope to have my artwork completed in 180 days while I still had some reassurance that I had a way to get either the commission or my money back is something that made a professional artist uncomfortable. I didn’t ask for “one edit per sticker.” I maybe asked for four total? There was an entire sheet that I loved and thought was great and didn't ask for a single change on, and others I was willing to accept as-is even though they weren’t quite what I wanted. Regarding the following screenshot, their claim that that is how they responded when I asked about the break is a lie as well. That was a response to me asking about the drop shadows and edit for the fingers. While I absolutely could extract the stickers back to PNG and edit them from Telegram, I’m not going to. Frankly this whole hideous deal has left me with a very expensive pile of stickers that I really don’t know to do with. I don’t enjoy looking at them, even though intellectually I know most of them are really cute. I don’t want to use them. Basically, Mo technically fulfilled the letter of my commission with enough ambiguity to say they did what was promised. The commissioner beware was deleted when I posted a link to my version of events. However, Mo made no effort to correct the misinformation in the beware and has claimed I have been directly harassing them and continuing to cause them problems, and I am therefore still getting their followers turning up on my twitter to harass me. TOS Issues/Other Info and Proof: Proof they say that refunds are available at any time with no stipulation requiring justification. (And remember, at no point did I demand a full refund.) Proof they claim there’s a line phase of approval. Which I never got. Trello card showing the lack of a line phase: UPDATE 11/27/2019 In response to Mo’s beware, I posted a link to this beware and asked that people consider my side of the story, since there was inaccurate information in the thread. Mo subsequently deleted the first tweet in the thread, more or less hiding my reply as well. However, the rest of the tweets were still on their timeline, so I used my alternate account to post links to each of the tweets with incorrect information in hopes that I wouldn’t be silenced again. Mo subsequently deleted all but that last couple of tweets. After this, Mo made several posts claiming that it was “harassment” and that my partner (who had engaged them to refute misinformation as well) was also harassing them. At this point, I was understandably annoyed and furious over the whole thing and how I was being portrayed, so I posted the following. In response to this vaguetweet, Mo decided to release the stickers for public use and refund me (minus about $5 because they sent it as Goods and Services instead of refunding the original transaction). While I suppose I’m glad for the refund, I am of course concerned that they sent it G&S as a separate transaction, meaning they could chargeback at any point in the next 180 days. In consideration of the fact that the refund can still be revoked, and the possibility that other folks may have similar experiences, I will not be removing this beware. Mo continues to make claims of harassment and spread disinformation, and has failed to appropriately address any of the concerns raised in this beware publicly or privately.
  24. So, I commissioned TattooRexy for a two character NSFW piece (bits covered, but still sexual), and after showing me the sketch they proceeded to stop replying. I of course kept trying, and sent a few more messages their way that they didn't even bother to look at, so I tried messaging their partner, asking them to please inform the artist that they need to get back to me; She was very friendly and told me she would get on it. I don't know if she did, but either way nothing happened. I waited a few weeks and sent them another message, asking yet AGAIN to have them inform their partner; They didn't reply. Now, a few months later, I open up a refund request through paypal, and only NOW does the artist look at my messages (on FA, when you look at a note it goes from yellow to black, indicating that it has been received and read), but still haven't replied, neither on FA nor paypal. TattooRexy does state in their TOS that a commissioner can get a refund at anytime, but will ALWAYS be blacklisted afterwards, I now see why they do this, and it is such a dick move. By doing this, most people who would get upset and request a refund, will simply just accept the total unprofessional nature of this artist and wait the months, or years, it'd take for them to reply, or let alone finish the piece.
  25. I won an auction for a Noivern fursuit a while back, and before I made my bid, I asked if the suit could be altered up a little to fit my size. She agreed. After winning the auction, I agreed to pay the extra charge, and I added her personal account on Facebook. Fast-forward to May 2016. I asked about updates, and there wasn't anything to show for. Fast forward two years, I asked again, and she claimed that her suit was lost in a move, and would have to remake it. Fast forward again, after more occasional and unsuccessful attempts at getting an update, this was the last correspondence where she had actually replied, which was on Discord. There has been no communication from her ever since that one message. I honestly should've made a post like this years ago, but what's done is done. And during this entire, years-long ordeal, she had continued to complete other projects, including other fursuits. I hope that this post serves to help people not go through what I went through.
