About Me

  1. Raven owns the designs because she bought them. But I believe she had a falling out with the owner (Adiago) so of course said species owner 'cuts' those characters out of the species; but instead of going their own way and making a new name, Raven continues to call them by that particular species. Why? Don't know.
  2. I just- my jaw hit the floor at how quickly they flew off the handle. And we have another post that's about to be approved on this artist. They received the exact same treatment. It's absolutely wild. Professionally, I'm annoyed they'd act like it's your fault that they agreed to do an OC design commission for a low amount and then get mad. Designs take a long time to hash out, and it's not your fault he drastically undercharged.
  3. I have a species i had created called Koberu, now, these species are closed to the public and i do not at all allow these species to be made by others and sold as adopts, at least until i can get a proper Ref sheet made for them for people to buy and use to make them. it started on Sep 11th, 2019, 07:41 PM , i had received an note on furaffinity from Mramor, she had stated that someone had come to her and asked for a commission and used reference shots from Secondlife, which is were i make and sell my Koberu as well: before i seen the second one, this was my response: now, in the chat we had, she had mentioned that she had never seen them before...that she had never even heard of a Koberu before, well, i at the time believed her, and as you saw she said that she did not want to waste her time and i felt bad she put work into the first one, so i told her to go ahead and put it up for adopt (which...was a big mistake on my end...) i later realized my mistake on doing it, but lets get into that now, she responded with this: now i made this response after seeing the mint one, and it kinda put me on edge, cause she only showed me the first one. She didn't mention there was a second one, but I let her sell those two. It did not click in my brain until a good friend pointed it out to me, but she mentioned she was shocked that one of her designs looked like one of my Koberu. hang on a second, i thought to myself, how was she shocked when she has seen them before...? oh yes, she has seen them before, how do i know you may ask, well, here is the evidence... here you can see my friend bid on one of the koberus, take a good look at the date this auction was posted She left a shout on my freind's page saying how much damn gorgeous her sona was. Here is more proof that she seen the auction before contacting me. [Mod note]: There were multiple caps on various users' pages. Due to the caps resizing strangely, we added in a few crops. Please note that this user has been leaving shouts on multiple bidders' pages. not only did she see the auction i did, she also favorited one of my koberu pictures 2 months back as well, here is the proof but, before i noticed she liked this (which was brought to my attention by my friend) i asked her about the shouts, cause i was told about the shouts before i found out she favored my Koberu Picture as i stated in my reply.. before hers, i told her only two.....BUT THEN SHE SAID SHE WAS WORKING ON ANOTHER ONE? even though i told her only those two?! that made me nervous and unsure about my choice now....i was starting to wonder if i made the right choice giving her permission...so this was her response... what....? .....haven't...heard of them before...? okay this here is where the red flag started to slap me in the face hardcore now...she said she was shocked she never seen them before, but left a shout on my friends pages, i do have another friend she left a shout on, but she did not bid on an auction until later on but here is a screenshot of the shout she left her before contacting me about the Koberus she HAD to have seen my auctions and seen my Koberu... -lied about not seeing my Koberu -people asking for commissions -people getting the idea they can sell them. -and tried to make a third adopt even though i told her only TWO -unfair to others who wanted to make Koberus don't you think that is a justified reason to ask her to take them down? people were starting to think they could make custom Koberu adopts and try and sell them even though they are an closed species of mine and no one is suppose to sell them but me, i broke my own rule i will admit and i was being way to nice, a fault in which i really need to fix, but anyways, i confronted her today and asked her nicely to take them down, and explained why... hold on to your seats folks cause this is about to get spicy: i know i said i only gave permission to sell the blue one but i did not remember at that time that i gave her permission for both so, i will admit to that mistake. but what sets me off about this is she tried to bring the bidders into this...which btw i contacted the bidders and informed them of the situation at hand and they completely understood, and they were super okay with it...i showed these screenshots to people, asking if this all sounded shady, cause i did not want to take all of this in the wrong way, but many have told me to confront her about this and as you can see, i am trying to in the nicest way possible...no aggression at all, then she goes and says she will just change the name ''hybrid dog'' ....? no, no, people have ALREADY SEEN THAT YOU NAMED IT KOBERU its obvious that is what it is and i have the evidence to prove you KNOW what a Koberu is and that you lied about not seeing them, even your mate made an art piece for a friend of mine who is a KOBERU here we go again with the ''i did not know it was a species'' gig...even after i just showed you the evidence. so after all that quarrel she says this, and, honestly it has me very worried, cause, she claimed she took them down, and then said she sold them? even after i told her to kindly take them down? and whats worse is, she still has reminders up on her alt for them the fact she activated a dead account to sell them is down right...wrong...I am writing this beware because she still is trying to sell them even though i told her specifically not to, again, i do not like nor is my intent to slander her name, i just want people to be careful around her and that to check her story first before you believe, her, i regret not doing so in the first place but it wont happen again.
  4. On the 22nd of February, I decided to commission Edjit on Twitter and asked for a NSFW piece with me and and a friend , during this time the replies took normal length and I wasn't starting to panic about it at all. Once they took the money I ask on the 23rd if they received both the funds from me and my friend and they confirmed that they did. From this point on-wards communication stops nearly all together unless I started it back up again. On the 24th and 29th of March I ask them if they have even started the commission as no communication was given to me since the start of the transaction, they then responded on the 30th claiming that they are still working on the other commissions before me. This is when it starts to get a tad worrying I contacted them on the 22nd of April, 14th and 28th of May asking them how the commission was doing to no response until the 30th of May where I get a message saying that they are now doing commissions again even tho they didn't even tell me that they stopped doing commissions. Nearly a whole month later I get a message on twitter from Edjit with a few sketch designs which made me excited that this commission was finally under way but after these images I got nothing for a whole month. On July 23rd I asked them how the commission was going and got a response claiming that it was going slow and that I could request a refund if I wanted one, and I didn't take one as I still thought in my mind that they have more than sketch sooner or later. On August 13th I asked how it was going when he then responded 12 days later?! that he was still tweaking it. Then nothing, it has taken so long that I mainly forgot about this piece until now that is how bad of a communicator this person is. I wouldn't even be mad if they just communicated better and not left me in the dark. I still want this piece but at this point I think I might have to accept the loss of money.
  5. The client appeared in one of my Picarto livestreams and was impressed by my work. The client asked about my commission prices which I told the client to private message me on discord so that we could talk about it. The client messaged me and I've submitted my link and this person asked if I do logo designs of which I've told the client "Yes I do but the prices vary depending on the complexity" They gave me ideas of what they wanted and I've worked on the idea via Picarto stream since I requested that I could work on the idea live. During the process, the client did make inappropriate signals that I've brushed off as my main focus was to get the job done. Once the project was completed, I've showed the client the final results of which they've approved it. I've asked for payment and that's when things got ugly as the client made tons of excuses as to why they couldn't pay off the full amount. I asked that they could put down 50% of what I asked for and another amount the next time the person got paid..... They've only sent 25% of what was asked for then disappeared until recently of 2020 when the client bragged about their new office setup. So once I've spoke up the, client made another excuse of why they couldn't pay off the amount asked.
  6. I'm not sure if the design has also been traded in addition to the double sale you're involved in? They're posting designs they've gotten in trades for sale and they make note of the value of a Poofylion design being the reason for the cost? Its kind of confusing so I sincerely hope they didn't try to dupe THREE people in to taking this design? They're going about this in a really uncomfortable way with their emotional manipulation. Were you able to file a chargeback for this purchase, or were you refunded at all? On top of that, I think, given the situation, it may be worth actually reporting them to TH staff because this is very much a scam and that's a LOT of money to "accidentally" get twice over. You cannot feign ignorance and blame your mental health as the reason for this when there's quite a bit of proof against them.
  7. This has been my first bad experience in the world of commissions and I hope this will be the last beware I will have to share here. Everything began on 17th April 2018; I had started taking commissions some months before, so I was reeeeally naive about it and my English skills were terrible as well, so I apologize for the horrible grammar in my messages. At that time I didn't have any Terms of Service yet, but I had already started working with FyreDraygg (we are two artists working together. I keep public relations) I was in a Telegram Network made up of several channels where artists can show their price sheets and find clients; buyers can send requests in order to find the right artist for their needs. I saw this user requesting a couple of dragon designs (that's my field of specialty), so I contacted them. We started chatting and they seemed quite interested, so I asked them all the information I required to give them an initial quote to see if it was fine for them. They accepted and explicitly stated they were fine with the price; they sent me a lot of references and details about how they wanted the two pictures. Important for later: they asked us to complete this work very quickly. I told them that payment must be fulfilled after seeing the sketch. Initially I made a sketch, but wasn't very convinced about how it turned out: when I work with the kind of buyers I call "yes-men", meaning people who accept everything you show them without ever having any critique or preference to share, I try to use my personal taste to improve the quality of the work to a level I find at least acceptable. Thus, after talking to FyreDraygg, we made a second design and showed it to them. They (unsurprisingly) liked it and everything was still fine. After that, I pointed out that payment was then due. It was a very big order for me at the time and my queue was full, so I decided to proceed with lineart and coloring even if payment hadn't been received yet. (That was my fault, I know, and I've learned to avoid doing this, but this is besides the point of my beware) Then we asked for an email address to send the invoice to, they provided it and sent the invoice. After some days we kindly pushed them for payment, especially since they had asked us to be quick at the beginning and we wanted to complete this order asap. As I explained in a previous post, I believe that when a commission is placed, the buyer is responsible for setting the required funds aside so as to be always ready for payment, especially after confirming they can afford it. I was very annoyed, but kept this to myself. Eventually, no payment was received and we had to canceled the commission. I wasn't as professional as I'm trying to be now and I didn't have a lot of patience, I know, but this was already the umpteenth person who thought it's ok to be paying late for a commission they themselves rushed, because apparently it's fine to push the artist for work but heaven forbid having to pay on time. After all of this went down, this person sent another request on the market channel I first found them in, asking for another kind of work. Thus, I sent these screenshots to the admins of the channel and the user vanished from Telegram, deleting their account; so I don't have any information besides the old username and the Telegram id (I use Plus Messenger and ids are public) Username: @What_even_0 id: 429774297
  8. Back in May 22nd of 2018, I commissioned an artist by the name of Fantasystaples for 2 $5 commissions. The commissions were of anthro pokemon that the artist originally did sketches for as a request, but were open to me commissioning and purchasing the design as my own. Since the artist wasn't very active due to wi-fi trouble and not checking on messages, I let the artist be as I waited for an update of sorts as the months went by. I did try to contact them every month or so, but deleted a few message as to not flood their discord with messages once they returned. ( Payment was sent as Friends & Family. I had no idea how paypal worked as I had turned 18 2 months before this. Now I know how important Goods and Services is ) On January 18th of this year I finally managed to get word from them. Because of how long the commission was taking, and how long they left me in the dark, they offered to compensate with an additional art piece as apology to which I was quite alright with. However, I wanted the focus to be strictly on the commission alone as to keep everything on track. I also simply wanted the designs as soon as possible now that my patience was running thin. Since it's been over a year after payment was sent, I decided to note them 16 days ago in the hopes of getting a response as it can be really concerning when there hasn't been much talking for a year old commission. Their activity on FA was going very steadily and it felt like it would be the better place to talk more on. I sent another note just this morning to be greeted with "You have been blocked" and no words as to why. Furthermore, I used my alternate account and twitter to try and contact them ( as well as expressing a refund if the art couldn't be done ) only to be blocked shortly after. TL;DR: I commissioned an artist by the name of Fantasystaples back in May 22nd of 2018 for 2 $5 commissions and have tried to be patient with them. Now all of sudden they want nothing to do with me and are trying to block me from contacting them.
  9. This issue has been RESOLVED as I have received a refund, but I would still like to WARN others about this artist and their TOS. On 7/05/18 I commissioned BluntGypsy for a YCH pinup slot that they had put up for sale. The pinup YCH's were offered in this journal: And came from this DA listing: I wanted a $20 colored sketch and here is the conversation had with the Artist to confirm the commission: I paid them that day and added a $5 tip in advance since this was for a 'Fund Raiser' and it sounded like they were going through a rough time. Here is the proof of the Paypal transaction: As you can see in the messages above she said she'd have it done in about a week or so, so I waited. She did not reach out to me personally for months and I waited patiently until she began to post some pretty concerning journals. The first came in August. I am not a part of her Discord so this was the only update I had seen since I commissioned her, but as it said something may be done by the end of September, I decided to try to wait. The next journal, however, raised some red flags for me. I had not had any communication with the artist directly before seeing this journal, so it came as a surprise to me that they were trying to sell their tablet (which they would need to finish my commission). So, I sent them an email. On the bottom is the email I sent to her and above it is her reply to me which came about a month later. I will point out she said she understood if a refund is desired, or to let her know if I still wanted the commission. At this point, with the selling of her tablet and the lack of communication, along with me not playing that character much at the time, I just wanted a refund and knew it may take a little while to get one back but asked for one anyway. After sending this email I received no further replies through email from her. The only thing I saw of her was another journal posted at the end of December. It states that her house burnt down at the end of November but also asks for people to file refund requests through her emails, which I had already done, and clearly offers said refunds for clients who do not wish to wait until she can get a new tablet and get to work on art again. I decided to wait a couple of weeks before reaching out to her and sent her a message in January to see if she had ever gotten my email about wanting a refund and to simply check up on things. Please note that she said she'd put me 'at the top of her list' BECAUSE I'd reached out to her again. I waited another month or so but was concerned when I saw her offering money to those who would get her a tablet and talking about YCH's or designs she had bought in other servers so I contacted her for an update. I admit that I was getting a bit impatient as I had been nice and had tried to be understanding throughout all of this since I know she had been dealing with a lot of stuff. Two weeks later she reached out to me for the FIRST time since I had commissioned her. On that day she said she'd send a refund THAT DAY or the next. I checked my paypal for the next couple of days and had received nothing. I decided to give her even more time and waited a month before contacting her again. The reply I received was that I had been bumped down on the list due to a rather 'impatient and rash client' who received priority, likely because of their attitude. I was rather unhappy with this considering how patient and civil I had been trying so hard to be. She said she'd get it to me by Friday (which would have been the 5th). I waited until Friday, received nothing, let Saturday pass by and still did not see my refund so I messaged her on Sunday. At this point I was -done- waiting and receiving nothing but excuses, but as it had long passed Paypal's refund policy I could do nothing but continue to ask and wait. I finally received a refund on Monday the 8th. Firstly, I'd paid $25, not $20, but because the $5 was a tip of sorts, which I never should have given, I'll call the refund good. However, she chose to mention her TOS to me, which I was rather unhappy about considering she does not have this TOS listed on the front page of her DeviantArt, nor did I see it when I first commissioned her (turns out it was linked in a random journal). I WISH I would have read the TOS BEFORE commissioning her because I would have never done so otherwise. Here is a copy of it: First of all, she has a 'Pay Upfront' policy along with a 'No Refunds' policy, which Paypal will not even back (which is how she takes most of her payments). Secondly, it states she will finish commissions in no later than 8-weeks, so the fact that I asked for a refund on an 'Overdue Commission', one that she OFFERED to me first, does not seem so wild, to me. After this I did send her a message on Discord letting her know that I was unhappy with the entire process and why. She sent me a message back, defending herself, her policies, and then promptly blocked me. As stated before, I count this as RESOLVED because she did finally get a refund back to me, however with the TOS that she has (with the 'absolutely no refund policy') and with how hard I had to try to reach out to her, I am wanting to warn others before they commission her so they know the potential of what they may be dealing with.
  10. ducttapeninja Nov. 2nd, 2011 12:55 pm (local) Name: D6016 Site: D6016's FA Approximate Time Period: November 1st, 2011 Details: I've been meaning to post one about Dee for a while now, considering Boyfriend and I have gotten a lot of art from him in the last year. x3 Communication has never been a problem, and his turnaround time is incredibly fast-- Usually within a day or so to see a sketch. The only time I've ever had a long wait time from him was when he was dealing with some IRL problems at the same time, which was no problem. :3 Yesterday he finished a quick freebie for me as well as a sketch for my boyfriend and I(Warning: Really NSFW!). I've always been a really big fan of his art style-- He's a really talented artist and a really fast worker. His commissions are cheap, too! I definitely recommend him to everyone. :D nishastar Nov. 2nd, 2011 01:17 pm (local) Name: ChameleonTech/Majalo/TechniccolorTurmoil Link: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/technicolorturmoil/ http://chameleontech.deviantart.com/ Approx Time Period: Sept 18th, Aug 20th, even further back times Details: Majalo is someone I highly reccomend for commissions. Not only is she very quick at completions, but she'll work with you until she gets your commission perfect. She'll even livestream commissions to make double sure she is doing everything correct just for the buyer. The third one hasn't come yet but I'm pretty positive it'll go smoothly like the rest. If you check her dA you'll see she's in hiatus, but she has noted me that she's still working on my icon so it's all okay. kinas is very nice and great with communication. She keeps her commission progress list on a journal on dA and answers to notes within hours (probably she checks her notes daily or something like that); she's also very kind and generally pleasant to deal with and her pictures are really pretty. I am not sure if I can link to the two finished avatars of hers cause she hasn't posted them yet and I don't feel comfortable uploading her work on my Photob. without permission, however you can see her work here in the comment box and down my avatars' list here on lj. darmit Nov. 3rd, 2011 01:58 am (local) Re: Kinas/Kinasaur Seconding! The commissions I can talk about are crazy old, so we had to check our Paypal history: she has one payment from me on the 14th of July 2009,and has posted my first commission the twelve of that month and the second around the end of August. 4. Kyuume draws very expressive characters. Back when I commissioned her she was taking a batch of low detail cheaper commissions, plus it was over two years ago, so now both prices and style have changed and the ones I paid don't apply anymore; anyway, as you will see in the examples, she improved a lot in her art, and she's one of the very few people I would recommend for commissions (I think they're, like, 3 in total? I've had bad luck in my days). We're good friends, but from what I know she's pretty easy going even with strangers, does her job and does it well. Her basic price list now gives Head to waist, more detail, colour, shading, simple bg included: ONE CHAR: £19, TWO CHAR: £23 + £4 every extra char; Examples of her current work are here (can't see without an y!gal account) and here; the old commissions from 2 years ago are this one and this one. She has never drawn anthro but she's eager to learn, so she told me she's willing to give a discount for any anthro commission she gets, but she doesn't feel ready to draw anything 18+ themed yet. gingerligress Nov. 2nd, 2011 09:15 pm (local) Sepp 1. I got on Lingrimm's waiting list a while ago, and shortly after was confirmed for a commission slot. I was low on money at the time, and didn't expect to get a slot so quickly (I had gotten on the waiting list when I did have money), but they had no issue waiting a few days for me to get my money together and pay. Only three days after I paid, I got this wonderful icon you see here. For the price, I was simply shocked at the quality. Just...I still can't stop staring at it. They've only recently been able to accept money through paypal, so now's your chance to get some awesome art for a great price. :D The only thing I would note is that they do confirm and keep up with things mostly through journals, but they noted me the final piece and replied to let me know that they received payment, so they don't seem adverse to communicating through notes. Now, when I commissioned her, I let her know that she could wait until she either got some awesome painkillers or got her teeth fixed before she worked on the commission. She finished them over livestream the next day. You know what I call that? I call that dedication. Freaky awesome dedication. 11. WHO: West, Westfalen. WHERE: Furaffinity, Inkbunny, Livestream WHAT: A chemisty / Periodic Table icon. WHEN: November 22, 2011 - November 26, 2011 PROOF: Paypal receipt (with West's real name hidden) - http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/269/reklawiconproofreceipt.png EXPLAIN: This really is nothing major, and in the end I'm just posting it as a warning to the community. On November 22 I commissioned West to do one of the Periodic Table icons he was advertising so heavily in places like FA and Teenycom. Communication went alright, and then suddenly last night (November 26) I'm noted about some chat logs that showed up on a public livestream while West was working on my icon. I'm putting it behind a cut because long chat log is long and has lots of crude and pretty offensive language. The bolded parts are done by me to highlight the more important bits. 9:57 PM: westfalen: because, for fucking fuck's sake, I've already done like, two of these, and this is fuckface number three to have the same goddamn character design 9:57 PM: westfalen: because it's soooo original 9:57 PM: westfalen: jesus fucking cockfucking christ 9:58 PM: westfalen: if this keeps up I am seriously just going to lay down line white lines of mockitude until these fucker snort them up and love it 9:58 PM: Defenbaugh: Wassup 9:58 PM: Defenbaugh: Besides wolf rascism ? 9:58 PM: Defenbaugh: err speciesism 9:58 PM: westfalen: I feel sorry for the mothers of these pathetic man-children for the shame they must feel for having borne these sad space-wasting wastes of space into the world 9:59 PM: westfalen: fuck you, generic grey fox with long black generic hair 9:59 PM: westfalen: fuckkkkkk 9:59 PM: westfalen: youuuuu 9:59 PM: RedApeGuy: Yikes!: lol 9:59 PM: westfalen: *pants* 9:59 PM: LinkinArt: haha 9:59 PM: westfalen: sorry. EVER. 10:24 PM: westfalen: christ in a hammock! 10:24 PM: Kardi: Sigh... 10:25 PM: Earwig: presumption is when I don't know information and I just assume shit, which yeah I never do. But I saw how you're acting and it's definitely not presumptuous to say you're being rude and tactless. 10:25 PM: Earwig: And like I said I totally understand the ranting thing, I do it too 10:25 PM: Earwig: But I do it in private and I try to be fair 10:25 PM: Earwig: If these people were being shitheads to you I could understand it but it's not their fault they have similar designs back to back 10:25 PM: Kardi: You are so hopped up on cold meds you're snarly and grumpy and just in a mood and a quarter. ? 10:26 PM: westfalen: actually no, I'm not on cold meds right now 10:26 PM: westfalen: clear as a goddamn bell 10:26 PM: Earwig: Insulting them because of a very simple aesthetic choice in a place they can see it is just really... I dunno. I'm honestly surprised 10:26 PM: Kardi: ... well, then, you're in a mood and quarter. And also, I hope the kitten's doing okay. ? 10:26 PM: westfalen: hahaha oh my god I can't believe I'm hearing this 10:26 PM: Earwig: Yep, kitten is in a really nice place now and taken care of well 10:26 PM: Kardi: Cool. ❤️ That makes me happy. ? 10:27 PM: Earwig: I dunno why you're talking like this in a public place. It's your own noose you're tying, that's fine. I can't tell you how to run your business or how to portray yourself online 10:27 PM: westfalen: look, you two girls have fun talking kittens, ok, I'm sure you both have great cat stories to exchange 10:27 PM: Earwig: Are you drunk? 10:27 PM: Earwig: Like is this how you normally act? I'm just trying to be chill and explain what the hell you sound like 10:27 PM: westfalen: I apologize for all present for having to put up with this bullshit, I'm outtski, kids. Peace on earth. So basically: West is tired of getting nothing but grey foxes with black hair to do icons of, and expresses this by making personal attacks against me and throwing personal insults at me as a person over a simple character design, in a public chat where absolutely anyone could see it. He even goes so far as to copy and paste another commissioner's icon to make minor edits to for mine with the intention of passing it off as fully-custom work like all of his other icons and just getting my character out of the way. My icon, next to the icon West copied from: http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/4103/reklawiconprooficons.jpg He took the icon he made for Escafanatic421, copied and pasted it, and made really minor edits to the character: Eyebrows, muzzle marking, and the clothing's removed. He also moved "my" character further out of the frame to try to make it either less obvious, or so he could do less work on it, or both. I'm not impressed. When he gets called out for doing it so publicly, he proceeds to throw a fit and then leaves the channel. To be fair, I did receive the full refund as shown in the receipt I linked- The message that came with it was a simple "I don't think I can do your character right now, sorry!" I haven't received any sort of apology from West for his behavior, but I think it's because he thinks I don't know what was said about me in the livestream. While the personal attacks and this sort of behavior don't bother me too much, I'm posting this for anybody who may be considering commissioning West to beware of personal attacks and less than professional behavior if your characters happen to go against their idea of 'imaginative' character design. --Edited the post to fix spacing, it was showing up as a weird block of text for me. Hopefully that's better! Update: 11/28/2011 After just happening to run into West on livestream, I have severe doubts that this will ever be resolved. No copy-pasting to be had. I recorded every snide remark with Fraps. http://youtu.be/SVtAx9Hdz2w And Kathy had no idea this was going on, so leave her alone. Please.

So here we go again. WHO: DevilAnney on FurAffinity. WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/devilanney/ WHAT: Character design and reference sheet WHEN: First started on September 30th, 2018 and has been ongoing. EXPLAIN: On September 30th, I had been browsing FA. I stumbled upon Anney's FA page where she had a character for sale, a green sabertooth tiger. After browsing, I saw she had been open for custom characters and I was interested in one as I wanted a saber of my own as well. She had given me her Discord to talk business. The character design itself was $10 and then, a couple minutes on, I asked about if I could have it made into a full reference sheet. She agreed and said the price would be $15 instead of $10. I agreed and was told I'd get two poses, a headshot, and a closeup of the characters paws. The character was going to be a saber, as well. We had agreed on the piece taking two days to complete. However, I don't have this exact proof since she deleted the post we discussed that on off of FurAffinity. However, later on in the messages it's pretty much implied as such by our conversation. I paid the $15 and the wait began. ( Read more... ) Two days later, I received a sketch of the character. She wasn't... really a saber but I loved her regardless. After I gave her the okay to continue, I didn't hear from her for another two days. At this point, she's already past her deadline she told me but a couple days wouldn't kill me. I didn't honestly expect it that quick, but still. On October 3rd, I messaged her and asked if there was any update. She told me she had been busy with other commissions and that she'd work on lining and then coloring the piece the next day. Fine by me. Two weeks went by without hearing a single thing from her. I messaged her again and asked asked about an update and she said that she had been busy with school and work now. I was then told I'd get an update when she got home from one of the two and I took that as an okay. I had a feeling things were getting sketchy at this point. I never got that update. Another week went by and I asked her what was up. I voiced how I was getting frustrated being told I'd get updates and progress but I never got any. All I got were empty promises. I then told her that I was starting to get to the point of asking for a refund. When I did, she REALLY started ignoring me. For two days, I got no response back. On the 21st of October, I messaged her again and asked if she was really going to start ignoring me. She then apologized and said she was going to go home and work on the picture. FINALLY I got an update. She sent a picture of the colored character and asked if it was fine. Just wanting my character and art done, I agreed and said that the colors were fine. From that point on, I've gotten NOTHING from her. On November 11th, I asked for an update. I got nothing. So on the 13th, I grew tired of it. I told her I wanted a refund as what she was doing was VERY unfair to me. I had given her plenty of time and chances and got nothing but empty promises and lies in return. On the same day, I filed a PayPal dispute to get my money back. She has not replied to any of the posts on PayPal. She has had time to post links to t-shirt designs she's selling which was posted four days ago, along with many other adopts. She's constantly online on Discord, as well, so I KNOW she's seeing my DM's. I also happened to go on her page and saw someone else asked her to reply to her Notes. UPDATE 11/25/2018: I started a PayPal dispute on November 11, 2018 and she never responded to it. Instead, she has vanished into thin air. She is no longer using Discord or she unfriended me. Not sure which. She has also deactived her FurAffinity and any other sites she used for art. Because she did not respond, I won the case and was given back my money. PROOF: PayPal Payment. Had to censor a ton because she used her real name on her PayPal and also had to censor my Credit Card info -> https://gyazo.com/22d34db7901cb9be377fd62fdc0d768f All the Discord conversations we've had about the business. Her PayPal had to be censored because it had her first and last name in it. I can uncensor if I need to. -> https://imgur.com/a/c7tyudx E-Mail from PayPal saying she didn't respond at all and they issued me a refund of my money -> https://gyazo.com/3b0ca840894e98374e62a0266c326861

HatchetHaro (HatchetHaro) wrote in artists_beware, @ 2018-10-29 01:26 Beware: Talen / Talen27 / Seagull / Seaguii WHO: Talen27 / Talen / Seagull / Seaguii WHERE: FurAffinity, Discord, Telegram WHAT: Design and reference sheet WHEN: July 8, 2018 to October 27, 2018 EXPLAIN: Before I start, most of what happened between us happened in voice chat, so any evidence on the matter is scarce. I am fortunately able to salvage enough from our text chatlogs (that he didn't delete) that should be enough to piece together what happened . This person commissioned me for a design for his character, along with a reference sheet. I charged him $50, and since we were lovers, I told him to hold onto it so we could put it towards a commission for us both. We fell out, I lost my desire to take any commission with him, but he refused to give me my $50 back. To begin, Talen and I used to be in a relationship, and I was the one who introduced him to the scalie community. As a symbol of our love, I made for him, for free, a design for his character along with a reference sheet for it. I'd like to say here that the process of creating that reference sheet for him was painful, with me streaming the process of the art to him and creating design after design that he kept asking for tweaks or redesigns on, bouncing between every little detail asking me to make drastic changes again and again. Nevertheless, I completed it and sent him the finished file. The date was July 8. After a week of finishing the reference sheet, though, he asked for changes to the design, and along with some other personal disputes, I told him that I would charge him no less than $50, and he agreed. [1] Honestly, $50 for a full reference sheet at this quality is one hell of a deal, so to this day, the fact that he is unwilling to pay up is due to pettiness. I continued to stream to him, in the exact same process of him asking for change after change after change on the designs that I came up with. I finished up the reference sheet on July 30, and told him to hold on to the $50 so he could pay that much in my stead when we decide to go for a commission together. Fast forward to early August when he broke up with me for other relationship-related reasons. He still wanted to be friends, and though it hurt me, I continued to be friends with him, and he was still holding on to the $50 that he owes me. [2] Since then, throughout the next two months, I've made repeated mentions for him to just return me my $50, though every time he tried to convince me to just get a commission with him. He never denied it, but he knows he owes me $50. [3] Fast forward again to mid-October, I made a request of him to stop mentioning all the new friends he's trying to date because I was still hurting from the breakup, and he straight up flamed me in voice chat, in the most toxic manner one can imagine, all for being "soft" or "overreacting". At that point, I snapped, and demanded my $50 back, but he refused, going between excuses such as "I can pay you the $50, but I won't" to "I only have $7 in my bank account, I can't pay you", all between a lot of name-calling, flaming, and accusing me of "blackmail" (in his technical terms, "defamation for the purposes of monetary gain", which you can totally twist "I'll tell peeps you're a thief if you steal money from me" into). He proceeded to block me from all communications. [4][5] Upon contacting one of his friends who know him better, I learned that Talen is simply that way and that my $50 is lost. I have contacted another of his friends recently, who willingly acted as an arbiter between me and Talen, and given him an ultimatum: pay me, or stop using my design. At this point, Talen had removed my reference sheet from his gallery, and currently plans to use one of the art commissions he got from another artist as his new reference sheet, except that commission's character was fully taken from my design and refsheet. [1] July 26: https://i.imgur.com/zRfFAgj.png I have blacked out all things related to our personal issues; I can provide the non-censored text if inquired. [2] August 10: https://i.imgur.com/zx96ExG.png The "Option A" and "Option B" was, explained simply, "cut off contact from each other" and "remain friends and help each other recover" respectively. [3] August 10: https://i.imgur.com/7yULthl.png This one is where he suggests artists and I explain fully what I meant. In the end, it is still clear he owes me $50. I have blacked out the exact values that he had bragged about spending on commissions and toys already as well as how much he still had at the time. I have also blacked out other names and the segue into the discussion about our own personal issues. [4] October 18: https://i.imgur.com/Vs7uxB8.png This is our full conversation on FurAffinity directly after the last straw. Since they were all separate responses, I have taken the liberty to format the screenshots into a chatroom structure for the sake of readability; no content has been altered. Personal issues and discussions have been blacked out, except for the final one. [5] October 19: https://i.imgur.com/sLEJ1Dy.png These are excerpts from our final argument in a separate Discord server, highlighting his denial and hypocrisy. There have been many repeated mentions of "blackmail" and threatening legal action on his part that do not contribute to the discussion, so I have cut those out. I have also blacked out what he claimed to have in his bank account; the decimal place should tell you enough. Honestly, I was very angry at that point, so some things I said was cringe-worthy; I have left those in for the sake of context. There are lessons to be learned from this story, in particular for me. I have learned to recognize red flags that would ruin a relationship, and I have also learned that I should never provide the final finished commission without payment first, whether I trust the person on a romantic level or not. I understand that this may be a more "special" case of Artist Beware in that the business is intertwined with personal feud; I have tried my best to omit most of the personal stuff from my images, but some I have kept in due to their vague relation to the transaction at hand. Another thing I am unsure of is whether I should include the artwork in question in this post for clarity and also as proof in case he actually does continue to get commissions with the same character design. I'll edit it in underneath all this if you guys want me to. I currently plan on selling the character design and reference sheet to someone else with little to no changes to the actual design, since the design of the character is still mine.
