About Me

  1. Mod Note: This artist has completed all their outstanding commissions. Posted on Mar. 28th, 2013 by lorenafa WHO: Pirate-Cashoo (FA) WHERE: www. furaffinity.net/user/Pirate-Cashoo Pirate-cashoo.deviantart.com http://www.hentai-foundry.com/user/zombiepirate/profile http://pirate-cashoo.tumblr.com/ WHAT: Couple Icons. WHEN: October 15th, 2012 - Ongoing. PROOF: PAYMENT:: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53660315/PC_LJ/paypal_pdf.png NOTES: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53660315/PC_LJ/oct15.png https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53660315/PC_LJ/oct25-response.png https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53660315/PC_LJ/nov12.png https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53660315/PC_LJ/dec17th.png https://dl.dropbox.com/u/53660315/PC_LJ/feb23.png DETAILS/EXPLANATION: Disclaimer: Okay, first of all I -really- hate to do this because I’ve read from her updates that she’s been going through a hard time and I really don’t do confrontation. That said I feel like I need to warn potential buyers again (she’s been doing this a lot.) about Pirate-Cashoo/Cachet. All I would like to do is get in touch with her and get what I paid for or to have her reimburse me as 60 dollars is a lot of money to me and I could put it elsewhere or towards another artist who actually wants to do the artwork I‘d asked for. Now: On October 15th, 2012 I decided to get myself and my boyfriend at the time a set of icons from her as a gift, I have a screen cap of how that went above. I’m keeping anyone who is not me or Cashoo anonymous as I am the person with the problem here, and not the others involved so the grey text is only usernames/references that are not mine. Just so we’re clear. As you can read for yourself from the links, She seemed a little hesitant but told me that the wait would be a few months as she had a pretty big queue and so forth. I didn't mind waiting as I’d purchased another set of icons during the duration of the time, and as an artist myself I understand how art takes time and artists are not robots etc. I contacted her again on October 25th because the person I had originally wanted the icons with and I had split ways and after communicating with him I switched the person I wanted to get the icons with and she okayed it with me. Told me she had not started them yet which did not really surprise me as she’d mentioned prior until November she would be pretty busy. So I was okay with that response, and didn't contact her back until November 12th. I hadn't thought about when she told me she’d start them and had forgotten she had family plans. Again just being friendly and curious about them I shot her another note. I can’t unfortunately find the message she responded to me about but it was something along the lines of “Sorry I haven’t started them yet, my family is down…” It was all good, and I told her to have a good time with the family and again not to rush. I then contacted her in December as I was curious why she hadn't gotten a sketch to me, but figured it was Life issues. Told her I wouldn't mind seeing a sketch before she completed a final product as I was curious if she had made any progress on the icons. She in this time started to just entirely not read or ignore my notes, and I have not been able to anchor her down for a response since then. She did however -read- this note, so there is that. My last note I left on February 23rd 2013. I actually noted her on deviantART account prior to FurAffinity (i copied and pasted the message directly from the note i sent on deviantART) but she didn't respond to either or read the note on FurAffinity (I have no idea if you can check who reads what on deviantART as I don't use it aside from a place holder.) I’m not making this to get people mad towards Pirate-Cashoo, but I will say that I'm severely disappointed in her business management skills and as an artist who does this as a full time job I don’t understand her complete avoidance or lack of a schedule. I love her artwork but I feel like I need to warn others about her business practices, I'm very disappointed. I wanted to let you guys know that if I were you to watch out and maybe hold off on getting art from her. She's a friendly artist to communicate with but I'm kind of tired of lack of updates/getting a bunch of excuses from her. I hope that she reads this and gets at the very least in touch with me so either discuss a refund or give me a concise deadline. ~Lorena.
  2. Let me preface I have a small bias AGAINST Lemonbrat or well a member of the group persay from when they did cosplay commissions. I did not participate in the approval and I tried to stay out but there is too much here to be quiet. I did participate in the agreement to go from Caution to Beware due to witnessing LB literally obliterate timeframes. OP would never receive the suit in a timely manner due to location, international shipping and customs by the time they finished it. This suit ideally should have been finished and gone to OP by the first week of JUNE. To me that's the latest because even if you rushed the shipping customs is a pain. My next concerns: The tail. Neither tail I saw read 'feline' to me. Even if you are making a puma to fit a human figure, the size ration is off. And that closure is awful on it. It visually looks stapled or tacked on like Eeyore's tail. The head is rodent and even furred up, it's a rodent with feline coloring. The ears are the worse of it. They are too round and ill-shaped for a feline. They splay out when they really need to point upwards. Choice of fur. OP came to you for the service. You have the knowledge (or should) of how their choices would perform. It's a beautiful color but it obviously doesn't do full body justice. At best a partial. And I say this as someone who only interacts with suits via this community! EVA Foam and worbla are my thing. The choice to cut literal pecs into the front. They're uneven. I don't think you even picked seams on the chest (or any of it), and I quickly Googled fur tutorials for fashion; all say pick your seams to clean up the work. If the OP wanted a femme form without actual breasts, was light stuffing or gentle foam fabricated mounds not an idea? I hate to say it but that chest looks post-mastectomy which if that's what they want; grand. But I don't think it was. Lastly because this is very long: communications and policies. You think you're allaying fears but you were telling OP to deal. Bad move. Also why would you not stick to your guns of a full DTD? Pick a policy and stand by it. If you want to deliver quality, demand a DTD or cancel and refund. 3k is too much damn money to bet on someone not local's measurements! LB you owe OP either a functional appealing suit. A refund. Or just a partial refund (50%) and the suit so they can... try to save it. Your own choices and lack of confidence/customer service/timekeeping lead to this. Less PR statements and more communication with Camaro.
  3. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1011083.html WHO: Rayd / Hytyle / Aprilycan WHERE: fur affinity WHAT: reference sheet WHEN: July 21 to yesterday morning EXPLAIN: user posted to FA forums in search of an artist for making a reference sheet. we agreed that I would be paid 60 during the process and remaining 40 upon completion. since being around 60% of the way through, I have been asking for partial payment; user has in response, acted like a victim by me asking for payment, suddenly reversing the affirming that my style works for them, that they like what I'm making, and claiming they hate it and therefore don't need to pay me. they have even said i'm witch hunting them, which is hilarious! since I've given up being paid the rent money i still need and have moved on to simply wanting to warn other people that this person is insincere and dishonest in their dealings. at first it seemed like a good fit. I gave them a choice of pose and got started. I asked them for feedback about the quality of linework and style. I started in on color and texture, adjusting when they had feedback, but the word "perfect" was thrown around a lot. Created multiple versions for comparison and customer design choice. Started in on the extra offers I included - poses with his outfit, offers to illustrate him using magic. Things people usually don't include in one reference sheet package. Around this time I started asking for payment and realized they most likely weren't planning on paying me. making a personal post to vent about what happened, they comment to harass me, while blocking me, meaning I technically can't reply to their weird victim posing. all said, I think some people are just best avoided at times. I don't know what's going on with this person, but I'd glad a platform exists to warn fellow artists. am I sad? yes. can I pay the rent without this income? not yet. am I going to waste my time harassing this person like they're harassing me? definitely not. but now I know I can check for names here if someone I'm working for seems fishy, and hope everyone stays safe out there.
  4. Back in November 2021 (on the 14th specifically), I saw that netcrow had opened for emergency commissions and messaged them to inquire about a 3-panel page since I love their art and was excited to get an opportunity to commission them. Here is the exact tweet of theirs advertising their commissions: It was stated that turnaround times would be "very slow" and I understood that they were dealing with health issues, so I was aware of this ahead of time. However I did not expect to be where I'm at currently, going on 9 months since I commissioned them without having received any proof of my comm being started, with every deadline they have provided being missed and very poor (or lack thereof) communication. I'm not writing this out of malice but to make other clients aware and to hopefully motivate netcrow to work out a better sort of routine or workflow for managing their commissions. Shortly after I messaged them on the 14th, I received a reply stating that my commission had been accepted and we then went over further details: Initially, I was told that that I could expect the first WIP "that week." That week passed without me receiving anything, but it was no big deal to me since I understood everything they were dealing with, and I was content to wait longer. I did not hear from them again until February 10 of this year, when I reached out to give them an updated ref for my OC after being reminded of my comm from seeing them open for another batch of commissions: I received an apology for the wait and was given a new time for when I could expect the first WIP. I absolutely do/still did understand what they were dealing with so again, I was content to wait further but was admittedly excited about being able to lookout for a WIP again. The week after this came and went however, and again, I did not hear anything from them nor did I end up actually receiving one. Several more months passed, and I still did not hear anything from them. I was starting to get concerned at this point so I reached out again on June 18th to inquire about the status of my commission and ask to know where I was at in their queue: What really alarmed me is how netcrow stated that they have "no particular queue," but again, I tried to be optimistic and as understanding as possible. At this time I received another apology and was told that they would try to get my commission that month and "maybe even finish it." To their credit I have seen them posting some finished commissions, but almost every one has been captioned as being "very overdue" or "extremely old" such as the ones below: Between the time of June 19 - August 7 I did not hear from them anytime; it was radio silence again. More recently, I informed some friends and other artists about the situation to ask for advice, which has lead to me now writing this beware and reaching out to them again. On the morning of August 8th, I messaged netcrow again expressing my concerns and requesting that they provide a firm deadline for providing a sketch: At the time of me submitting this beware, I have not heard back yet. Like I've stated, I truly do not mean this out of any sort of malice but simply out of concern and frustration. I wish the absolute best for netcrow with navigating their health issues, but this is not a good way to manage commissions and I'm figuring that other clients of theirs may be in the same or similar positions. I'm a very patient person and do my best to be as polite and understanding as possible, but the lack of communication and lack of a proper queue here have me greatly concerned and anxious as I am out of $320 with not even a sketch to show for it 9 months later. I still do love their art and would love to receive my commission, but the long periods of silence and overall experience have me a bit down :[ I don't wish to come across as a spiteful or mean individual whatsoever.
  5. Hello I am the bewaree, This beware was rightfully written. Every word is true and I was not in my right mind. I used my mental health, lifes experiences, and flaws as excuses. My work fell off my priority list as my world was crumbling beneath my feet. I was unable to own up to my shortcomings until it all imploded. I spoke to Lady Mae, and many others, in an appalling way. I became completely unhinged and threw my emotions onto them. For that I apologize. I caused a lot of stress and worry for a lot of people who were waiting for me to work. Who had every right to question my behavior. I let emotions run my life instead of owning up and making the necessary changes. I ran, I went on the defense, and let my ego take the wheel. I have made a lot of mistakes and I'm done running. I have issued refunds to every one of my past commissioners that I could find. there are Two whom I have not been able to locate. If they are reading this please comment so I may find you. It has been many years since this incident and through a lot of therapy and self care I have come to peace with who I used to be. But I will never forgive myself for what happened through the Angels nest fursuits or the Dutch angel dragon community. For the way I turned on a community that welcomed me with opened arms. For those who felt the wrath of my own internal uncertainties. For the people I met with harsh anger instead of professionalism and compassion... I do not deserve forgiveness. I can only hope that my refunds can assure people that I never intended for this to happen. My intent was to create joy, by bringing characters to life. I was NOT ready for what came along with it. I am a very flawed human being who is doing her best to move past the person I used to be. I will tell every person who has seen this beware, that I am trying to right what I have done. Ive searched within, ive broken, and im rising. I'm rebuilding myself but I DO want to create again. I will NOT accept peoples money before a product is produced, that is a Promise. I refuse to let history repeat itself. I will create with my whole heart and soul in every costume from here on out. I will still search for a way to give back to this community. I will not give up.
  6. The issue only "cropped up recently" because that's when the suit actually was being made and they began receiving photos. Their concern about the wrong head base being used should have absolutely been taken seriously. Ignoring the other issues, that is not the correct species whatsoever and doesn't look anything like a feline. They brought this issue up and were brushed aside and told it'd look like a cat when furred (which it doesn't).
  7. First, the no refund policy absolutely doesn't hold up and them trying to enforce that is ridiculous. Secondly, that is clearly a rodent head. I can't believe they were actually doubling down that the rodent head would magically look like a cat head once furred. I don't see that working at all, the muzzle and cheeks are the wrong shape and the ears are very round. There's a reason foam bases are used and it's because they affect what the final shape looks like. Just a really weird beware As for the tail, curved tails like that are often made so they don't drag on the ground, most fursuits have curved tails like that regardless of the character unless they're floor draggers. It keeps them from getting dirty.
  8. PLEASE NOTE: In any screen cap dated after April 4th 2019 I had moved and there is now a 5 hour time zone difference between she and I. (this means that it may seem like I am messaging very early, but for her it is 5 hours ahead of my time stamp.) I was directed to Tamsin (Tammy) via a friend from whom I was purchasing a fursuit head. I had wanted to commission matching hands/tail/arm sleeves in time for Confuzzled. Tammy and I discussed prices and materials and I agreed to pay once I got paid. (The total was 130 GBP which is about $160 USD). I paid promptly upon getting my pay check: After I sent the payment there was apparently a hold up in paypal where they wouldn't release the money to her until I marked the item as shipped with no tracking needed. I was concerned but did as she asked since I had no reason not to trust her. She specifically stated that she needed the money released so she could order the materials quicker. I had some issues come up and ended up not being able to go to CFZ (Confuzzled). Due to this I expressed that I did not need them finished by the con deadline. I was still under the impression that she had already ordered the materials because that was why she needed me to promptly release the funds into her account. After the con passed I didn't hear from her, so contacted her in order to set up a deadline. She expressed that it was a bit hard to do the deadline I suggested because of work/school. I tried to compromise and just prioritize the most important parts first. By June 14th I was starting to feel a bit ignored, as I would see them online and they would check my messages and not respond. The friend who had originally sent me to them (Cas as mentioned in screen shots) mentioned that there were some issues between the two of them at CFZ, and I became afraid that she wasn't communicating with me because of my friendship with Cas, as I had been told that she was answering other messages. I admit that my behavior was a bit pushy in these screen shots, but I have been burnt several times by fursuit builders and was feeling anxious. We agree here on a Halloween deadline and I express that I will make a new ref with the updates I had previously discussed. I make sure to mention that I absolutely must see some sort of work started in July, since they said they would probably start mid July, due to my paypal protection window. I am still fine with the Halloween completion deadline, but just need to see some sort of progress, or materials to show the project is in the works. They express they are stressed due to personal issues. Concerned that this commission is adding onto their stress, I offer to just take a refund in parts if they are no longer interested or have the motivation/time to work on the parts. At this point she starts to seem a bit aggressive, so I inquire as to her having purchased the materials in case we need to work out her shipping them to me and subtracting the cost of shipping/materials from a refund. I was told by our mutual friend that she didn't actually buy the materials, and so I requested pictures from her in order to just prove that she had bought the items needed, as that was the whole reason she asked me to release the funds, so that she could more swiftly buy the materials. At this point she makes excuses one after another on why she can't provide pictures. I give her a deadline on when I must see materials. I agree to a Wednesday deadline to see the materials that week and reiterate that she said she needed the funds to order materials promptly. At this point SHE offers the refund and expresses when her paydays are. I feel this was done because she had never bought the materials and knew she couldn't provide proof in the time frame requested. At this point I feel I am being scammed and lied to, so I agree to the refund and offer her the option of half and half payments on the 27th of each month. I leave her alone for the rest of the month until the 27th where I then message her and remind her of my email. I see her active all day and get no answer while our mutual friend confirms that she's been answering their messages. They finally respond and claim they were working and then go silent again. I get a bit snippy and let them know that I will just file a dispute if I don't get the half payment on the promised day. She finally makes time to attempt to pay me and then gets upset about paypal fees based on currency differences. I try to remedy this by adding GBP to my paypal options, but it still charges a fee, which I tell her I will cover. She sends the first half of the refund, I confirm I got it and then leave her alone until July 25th, where I just send a reminder of the email for the refund. After contacting on the 25th of July 2019, Tamsin expresses that she needs a bit of an extension on the payment time because she is at a con. I thank her for letting me know and leave her alone until the day that SHE set as the new payment day for the final half of the refund. I decided to send an invoice for the remainder to see if that would keep her from having to pay a fee on her end. She claims she can't pay and cancels the invoice. I express that I am not really wanting to wait longer, as I already extended the deadline to Monday (which was the day SHE asked for). I give in and ask her to give me a definite deadline on when she can pay. She ignores me and I wait till the next day (July 30th ) to message her again asking for a definite deadline again. She says she couldn't pay because she had bills. I express that I am unwilling to wait another month because I feel at this point she is jerking me around. (Our mutual has expressed that she' had been spending money on frivolous things, so I felt I was being jerked around and scammed.) She makes a snippy comment about "not relying on her as a source of income" and it really rubbed me the wrong way. I got extremely upset and rather argumentative, as I felt that her statement was in direct contrast to her own behavior, (taking my money and spending it at an event while not even purchasing my materials). Our conversation deteriorated quickly. She continues to claim she bought fur but cannot provide any proof (pictures, receipts, tracking on shipments, etc), and completely twists the situation to paint herself in a better light. (Claiming I wanted a refund because I was broke, when she was the one who chose a refund over just providing proof of the materials that she swears she has bought.) At this point I feel that I am being jerked around and that she has no intention of paying me at all, so I decide to take things to Paypal and open a dispute. I know due to me changing email addresses between payment to refund, that it will dispute for the full amount paid. My intention was to simply send her back the half she had refunded previously once Paypal handled the transaction if she was unwilling to work something out. She proceeds to completely go ballistic once the claim puts a hold on her account. She claims she was going to pay me aft 8 because she was waiting on our mutual friend to pay her for something. This is information that she NEVER once brought up until I filed a claim. She in fact explicitly stated that she didn't know when she'd be able to pay. I initially refuse to cancel the claim because I don't trust her at this point and know that she is a liar. I attempt to make arrangements for the mutual friend to just pay me directly but he can't, as he is doing a bank transfer to her instead of paypal. They claim they will send the money as soon as I cancel the claim and their account comes out of the negative. I make the mistake of trusting them because I am not out to hurt someone, just want what is owed me. Big mistake. I cancel the claim and she ghosts me completely. I send a couple of reminders and get nothing. Cas (the mutual) confirms later in the week that they already paid her, and I still am getting nothing from her, either messages or money. I decide to try to be nice and just leave her alone except to send a reminder on the 16th asking if I will get pair, then left her alone for the rest of August until the 27th and message her again to see if I can get this finished. As of now she has read the messages and still refuses to respond. She has been active on her Instagram (selling adopts primarily), but has failed to answer or send the money. In summary, she is a liar, a scammer, and a thief and I hope that no one else ever has to deal with her or falls for her lies. The below screen caps show her publicly available information / social media accounts so that hopefully others can avoid her.
  9. This commission was initiated via Toyhouse, as such, some screenshots may need to be read from bottom to top with the way the PM system works with this site. In mid-September 2021, I reached out to DaziKidoT to create a reference sheet for a Final Fantasy XIV character of mine. After discussing the additions required for my piece, I provided their form and they took payment after presenting base sketches for the character's pose. After agreeing to one of the poses, they sent me an invoice and it was paid the same day. I received my first drafts of potential design concepts 10 days later, I selected the concept I preferred the most and confirmed that I was fine with giving them artistic liberties when it came down to the overall color scheme/design work of the clothing. This is the sketch draft I approved to move forward. I did not hear from them until October, where they informed of personal matters that cropped up. This was not a bother at all, up to this point DaziKidoT had been very commutative with me, and it's only been a month since we initiated the process. After this, I did not hear from them until November, another personal matter happened, but they delivered colored concepts for the design up to this point. I selected which elements I wished to move forward with, and later that day I received a WIP with the final draft of the design elements I wanted to keep. All work that has been shown has been of the front-facing portion of the reference, I had not received a WIP of the back-view, nor the unclothed reference which was to show my character's body scars, etc. A few days later, I received bad news regarding the commission overall. Everything was lost due to hardware issues. Admittedly, this was gutting to hear, because of how well things had gone up to this point. However, DaziKidoT was still being transparent and communicative with me that I genuinely was willing to wait things out for them to complete the work. At this point, I had no reason to believe we would run into communication issues, so I declined the offer of the partial refund. I did not hear from them until January. There was no additional progress to show, but I inquired on January 11th if it was possible to make modifications to the original concept, as things needed to restart from square one regardless. We did come to an agreement for the design updates for when they were able to resume working. Another month passed and I had heard nothing from them. I was starting to get mildly concerned about their ability to remain in contact, especially as I was nearing my window for a claim via Paypal. Toyhouse experienced site-wide outage some time before I reached out to them in February, and wanted to have another way to contact them in the event the site went down. We agreed to swap discord handles. However, I did not hear from them after we mutually added each other, I reached out to them in April to see if there were any updates, and I was informed of another personal matter, and due to limitations with accessing the site, I was willing to try and help them with at least getting the word out regarding the delay as I was not the only individual waiting for work from Dazi. This is what I posted in their thread, I have since revised my message as I have not had contact with the artist since April. On April 10th, I received a WIP of the anatomical revisions I was requesting. We agreed to little details and April 11th was the last time I ever heard from Dazi. I reached out to them in May to check in, but I received no response. At this point, I am far beyond my window with claims via Paypal, and I have no options left for recourse. I provided them an ultimatum, and later delivered the same message to them on Toyhouse in August, it has gone unread. Only this time being firmer in stating that I do not wish to continue if they do end up returning. A follow-up was sent in October to be transparent about my side of things, there has still been no response. As of September 2022, I have reached a full year of waiting for this piece, and I have not heard from them in nearly six months. In hindsight, I should have taken the partial refund offer when I initially received it.
  10. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1019788.html Note: The OP did not delete the post. It was reposted on behalf of the Op, because we could not convey the necessary edits needed due to a language barrier. Original Poster: Carlossaiyan WHO: Zdemian WHERE: Gmail and Discord WHAT: Full Cel Shaded digital coloured pic of an OC with “enormous breasts”. It was a 60$ USD commission. WHEN: First idea sent on March 24th, denied on April 1st. Second idea sent, accepted and paid on April 4th. EXPLAIN: On March 24th I’ve asked Zdemian for a commission. He asked me to put the details of it in an e-mail to send it to his Gmail address. He denied the first NSFW idea I sent him on April 1st, so I gave him another NSFW idea on April 4th via Gmail too. He liked it and accepted it, sending me the Invoice, paying him at the very moment on the same day. He was going to start the pic the moment he got paid. The idea was to draw my OC Vernan in NSFW content, in a hotspring, relaxing and humming out, having enormous breasts with a little plastic duck at the neck side. After that, I’ve been trying to contact him every few days later via Discord to see if he was doing the commission. The money was sent but the invoice disappeard from the Paypal list, though I could do a screenshot of the e-mail or money sending before all of this happened. I don’t understand what might’ve happened. I’ve contacted him again via Discord more until he replied on Tuesday 9th of October (That’s 6 months later!), saying he didn’t wanted to do it, not even wanting/having the intention to reply to me. THE IMAGE IS NSFW: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19925712/) And so I bought one of the slots, and everything was going quite smoothly until it reached October 31st 2016. 5 months after purchasing the ych and I hadn't had any updates of proof my piece had been worked on, so I decided to ask for a refund. JJ excepted this and over the next 2 years (almost) I would ask every few months if she had enough money for my refund yet, and every time they would have some sort of money trouble and I'd have to wait. I feel I'm quite understanding, like I know sometimes life can be a bit rubbish and unforeseen expenses can come out of nowhere. But 2 years just seems far too long to wait for this sort of refund. 12. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1017283.html WHO: Edalie https://www.deviantart.com/edalie-chan (she used to have a twitter, but it's been deleted) WHERE: Discord PMs WHAT: Digital art commission WHEN: Commission was paid for on April 11th. EXPLAIN: In April, I came into contact with Edalie. She had been posting her art in a discord server I frequent at a steady pace. After noting her quality and ability to draw different styles, I asked her for a commission. A character design sheet, with three total drawings, all shaded, and 6 total facial expressions. She charged me $290 USD for the transaction. It was pricey, but I could afford it at the time. On May 21st, I received lineart for the first pose. Simple enough. It was colored the next day. We would go about a week's worth of silence, before more contact on June 6th. She promised that she would get me a sketch of the second pose by the next day. It did not come by the next day. In fact, it wouldn't arrive for two whole months, during which contact was very scarce and was almost always initiated by me engaging in small talk every now and then. In early August, I finally received the sketches promised. And then more silence. On August 23rd, I was told that she would be streaming this commission on her Twitch channel, and she asked me if she was okay to begin working on lineart. To the best of my knowledge, this stream did not happen. I tuned in briefly and she was not working on my commission at all. However, she has past broadcasts turned off, so I have no real way of verifying this. I have reason to believe she did not work on my commission at all, however, because the next update I received from her would just be a revised sketch and not the lineart I was promised. A full month passed, and on September 24th, I messaged her again, this time with a pretty passive aggressive message. She responded and apologized, stating that she had accepted other commissions, and had given them priority. Her reasoning for this was because I didn't ask for a deadline. She asked for a chance to make it up by working on the commission all day. At the time, I accepted it. However, I sought counsel from friends, some of whom are also artists, and they understood my concerns. Mainly that I felt like it was unfair for my commission to just not be worked on even though I paid for a spot in the queue. Following our exchange, she finally got the lineart to me (mind you, this was supposed to be completed in August). I began to ask her for revisions, but instead I decided that it was best we called it off. I felt like it would be enabling that kind of behavior if I let her continue to work on the commission with no accountability, as she had already shown me that she was likely not going to give my commission priority if other commissions came in, despite the fact that it had been five months since I paid for it. After asking for a refund, she became very combative, initially saying that 2 months is the average turnaround for a commission based on what other artists have told her. She also tried to insinuate that because I was patient, that I was okay with being pushed back constantly due to her prioritizing other commissions paid for after mine. I told her I felt that the art I was going to be given in only hours would not match the quality I would expect for a $290 payment, and also due to how long it took for us to get to that point. She seemed to think that my issue was with the quality of the art and the price, not with how long it took for me to get lineart for the sketch. After a little bit more of back and forth (screenshots of the full discord conversation from the time of payment to the end will be provided) she agreed to calculate the refund price. I reasoned that the refund would be around $170 to $190 due to the fact that only one out of 3 poses had been colored, lineart for the other two poses had been finished that day, and nothing had been shaded. Her refund amount was $80. She tried to justify it saying that her prices at the time were $70 for lineart ($100 now, apparently). I agreed without thinking about it at the time, but upon further review of our logs, there was no such price specified at all. She also mentions a discount on cell shaded fullbodies. That was also not in our agreement. We go back and forth a little more, and our logs end with her telling me that after our conversation, she will be instating a no refunds policy and that it's based on her own kindness not to enforce that on me. I have since attempted to go through PayPal for a chargeback, and am currently trying to get half of the agreed amount back, as I do not feel like she should keep $210 for less than half of the work. Following this situation, she has since blocked me on Discord, and banned me from her server. The mod message states the following (a friend joined the server and sent the screenshot, which will be provided below): "Hi @everyone! This post is a warning of a recent commissioner. When doing business with someone, it's never wise to be fickle and change things unless the other party agrees. It can cause confusion, and a hassle for both sides. When you give money to someone for a service, you are forming a business relationship. A successful business is all about the satisfaction of both ends, and the responsibility of the commissioner matters just as much as the Artist's. Feelings must be mutual so the Artist can happily receive their payment, while the commissioner can happily receive their product. The safety of the Artist is just as important as well, so the commissioners that disrespect, and mistreat the Artist will result in being Blacklisted. The commissioner that will be Blacklisted is @yung nero, and will now be banned from the server. With research and from recent events, he's had a history of disrespecting creators for his own satisfaction and unrealistic views upon forming a business. So please, be cautious if he makes contact with you." This post makes me feel like 1) she told her mods false information about me to slander me ("With research and from recent events, he's had a history of disrespecting creators for his own satisfaction and unrealistic views upon forming a business" despite the fact that said research and history doesn't exist) and 2) it feels like an attempt to sweep everything under the rug. This could prove problematic in the future, as if there are any artists that accept commissions in her server, that could potentially prevent me from trying to commission other artists in the future. First payment for the Flat Bust on 07/July/2017, second one for the Flat Fullbody on 22/July/2017. EXPLAIN: I sent her a note on FurAffinity after a recommendation in early July/2017, asking if she was currently available and willing to do a Bust-Commission from the waist up. She agreed and we started discussing the details, with me sending all the references in a separate note. First payment: (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/8os6zy9y.png) Two weeks later, I approached her again for a Flat Fullbody-Commission, which she agreed to as well (She also mentioned that she was working on two commissions at once and would get to mine after them) and I sent the details again. Payment occured later. Now I was with my commissions on her To Do List. Note with the mention: (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/h7pofc33.png) Second payment: (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/gyckwldd.png) To Do List: (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/mwgujoe7.png) Then I left her alone and waited. That was still in July/2017. I noticed her posting some commissions and personal art, so I thought of it as a great sign. However, she posted journals where she informed us about some health issues together with others that detailed about her returning and being active again, but I still wasn't worried. Her last one was a long one which ended on a positive note that she hasn't forgotten us and thanked us for our patience. Note: According to FA right now, this was still a year ago. (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/2eclbpsm.png) In the meantime, I have decided to make a major overhaul to my Flatbody-commission since it wasn't started and sent her a note 10 months ago (November/2017) about it. It's unread to this day. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/jlbutj9u.png Though, to not come off as impatient and pushy, I haven't noted her about this any further. But as month after month passed by, I began to get nervous and tried to get some info about the current commission-status. -First with a shout on her page 5 months ago (April/2018) -Secondly via e-mail to her PayPal-adress 4 months ago (15/May/2018) In both I have expressed my worries that something bad might have happened to her and that I would be glad to see a sign of life from her again. 10 months since her last favourite. Both went unanswered, so a bit desperate, I asked some friends of her - one of which provided me her new profile, SionnachArtach, created on 24th March 2018. According to the member, she had lost her password to the Euclase-account. Unfortunately, the profile seemed to be abandoned. There were two uploaded pictures, one of her icon, the other one for one of her friends. I messaged her on this profile three months ago (June/2018), asking if she had indeed opened a new account after losing her password, but it also went unread to this day. (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/i8xljaic.png) Her page does feature a Steam-name for contact, but I'm afraid that adding her just to get some info might backfire in some way. After waiting three additional months (over a year in total) without seeing any new activity, chances are that I'm out of 50,00 € and won't ever see the purchased art. Don't get me wrong, I'm certain that she hadn't suddenly decided to run off with the money and abandoning her clients. But it still leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth, that she had secretly created a new account with two uploaded pictures for herself and a friend, without informing her commissioners - while also ignoring every communication-attempt, apparently. To be honest, I'm hoping that we could still bring those two commissions to a satisfying end. Should she get back in touch with me, I'll update accordingly and hopefully call this case resolved. PROOF: Provided in the links above. If I'm missing something important, showed the wrong evidence or censored too much, don't hesitate to tell me, please.
  14. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1012021.html WHO: Tegan AKA CarrionCupcake WHERE: Original transaction was an in-convention commission at Furpocalypse 2017. Notes have been exchanged primarily through Fur Affinity since then. WHAT: Traditional con badge WHEN: October 27, 2017 (day one of Furpocalypse): I commissioned Tegan for a con badge. The base price was $80, but I asked Tegan to charge me $100 instead, with the extra $20 being a tip. Furpocalypse uses a system where the artist fills out the price on an invoice, which the buyer then brings to a central checkout and pays the teller. The teller then stamps the invoice to indicate it has been paid, and the buyer returns the stamped invoice to the artist. I paid the Furpocalypse teller in cash and unfortunately I no longer have my receipt after all this time, though the Furpocalypse staff might if pressed. October 28, 2017 (day two of Furpocalyse): I went to pick up my badge, as Tegan had promised a next-day turnaround. Tegan told me there it wasn't finished yet and to please check back tomorrow. October 29, 2017 (day three of Furpocalypse): I went again to pick up my badge, and Tegan once again said it had not yet been finished. Tegan asked if it could be done as take-home work, and I agreed. November 11, 2017: I sent Tegan a note on Fur Affinity asking for an update. (screenshot) The same day, Tegan replied and said it would be posted "this week." (screenshot) December 26, 2017: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) Tegan read it but did not respond. February 18, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) February 19, 2018: Tegan replied only with "Hey what's your next con?" (screenshot) February 20, 2018: I informed Tegan that I will probably be doing Furpocalypse again this year. (screenshot) Tegan read the note but did not respond. June 3, 2018: I asked Tegan if I'm to understand from that exchange that the badge will be ready before Furpocalypse? (screenshot) June 4, 2018: Tegan replied that it would actually be scanned, posted, and mailed to me "this week" if I could provide my address (screenshot) June 4-8, 2018: I asked Tegan if it would be all right to send my mailing address via email instead of Fur Affinity notes, because I don't particularly trust the latter. Tegan agreed, and I did so. I'm not providing screenshots of the email since it's literally just me providing my mailing address (which is not information that should be posted here anyway), but here (screenshot) is a confirmation note back on Fur Affinity, informing Tegan that the email had been sent. As of when I submitted this post to a_b, I never received anything in the mail. July 10, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) July 11, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "this week." (screenshot) July 22, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) July 11, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "today or tomorrow." (screenshot) August 5, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) August 6, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "tomorrow." (screenshot) August 8, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. Though there had been a soft unspoken inferring up to this point that Tegan needed only to scan and post the badge, the lack of updates over this long a time lead me to ask more directly and formally: The badge actually is finished, yes? (screenshot) Tegan read it but did not respond. August 13, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. Because of how long it has been and especially the lack of response to my direct question, I started to more overtly show doubts that this badge is indeed finished. I asked for a refund if it was not. (screenshot) Tegan replied after "finally [getting] home" that the scan would be posted by "tomorrow." (screenshot) August 16, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. I also asked what is causing all these delays. I repeated my stance that I would like a refund if the badge had not actually been completed, as Tegan still had not directly answered that. (screenshot) Tegan replied complaining about having a lot going on, but promised to get the scan "soon." (screenshot) August 23, 2018: I dropped a sharply-worded ultimatum on Tegan. (screenshot) The main point, to quote a passage from the middle: "You still have yet to answer a simple and direct yes or no question that I've asked several times now: Does my badge actually exist? Have you drawn it yet, in all this time? If so, prove it. It really should not take two and a half months now just to scan something. If you haven't started it yet, then please don't. I will instead take a full refund." Because of the repeated delays promising updates soon/tomorrow/etc. I informed Tegan that I felt the only way to get the matter resolved was to attach a deadline: I expected either the badge or a refund by September 1, or I would take the matter to a_b. August 27, 2018: Tegan replied "now that [Tegan is] home" understanding and thanking me for the warning, and promising to talk to me "soon." (screenshot) August 31, 2018: Tegan sent me another note suggesting it may have to wait until Sunday the 2nd, rather than the 1st as originally promised. Tegan promised to include extra sketches for the trouble, and to pay for shipping with tracking. (screenshot) September 3, 2018: The September 1 deadline came and went, and so did the September 2 deadline, so I wrote and submitted this post here. EXPLAIN: I still have not received anything after almost a full year of "today/tomorrow/this week/soon" promises. I still do not believe this badge ever existed, which leaves me at a loss regarding how to deal with Tegan's offer on August 31. I very specifically and directly, more than once, instructed Tegan not to draw this badge if it had not already been made, because I would rather have a refund at this point. Tegan never did answer the direct yes-or-no question of whether this badge ever existed. If it did not (which I very strongly suspect) but Tegan then threw something together this weekend to meet the deadline, that would directly go against my frequently-repeated wishes. One could argue that receiving the badge+bonus sketches+complimentary shipping with tracking would at least be something, and that was why I was persuaded to give Tegan one more day per the note on the 31st. Even now, a part of me is worried I'm going to click "Submit" on this and then received the finished product half an hour after I posted it, and end up looking silly for that. However, I look back on this entire history and... well, I'm sorry, but I simply can't believe Tegan anymore. Tegan implied I'd be getting the scan any second now, but Tegan has been implying that for months. At this point, I just want the matter resolved. By refund, preferably, but I might just have to take what I can get.
  15. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1011530.html WHO: CaptainRaidriar WHERE: Furaffinity WHAT: Digital Artwork WHEN: 07/02/2018 — 08/29/2018 EXPLAIN: I would like to report the user CaptainRaidriar on Furaffinity for plagiarizing another artist's commission. I ordered a commission from her back in July where she worked on it for a few weeks. I was satisfied with the finished product and gave my approval to upload the piece. Just recently I have been told by someone that it was a plagiarized piece in which she traced someone else's piece. It then became clear just how she ripped me off and broke copyright of copying someone else's work. Instead of being over dramatic I brought the issue up with her directly, calling her out on the commission. She believes she had done nothing wrong and that I was just complaining to get a free piece of artwork. I overlayed the two and it is very clear that the lines meet up perfectly. She claims that she used the YCH by the artist as reference and it was just coincidence that the line met up. She has just recently removed the piece from her gallery because of heavy backlash from several users, but I have thrown it into a dropbox with comparison to the two pieces and included a DA link where it hasn't been removed. The artwork she traced is uploaded a month before, and the YCH before then. ~ NSFW Warning ~ Raidriar’s Piece:b https://www.dropbox.com/s/cvdwzag1hk9cr08/CaptainRaidriar Piece.png?dl=0 -DA Upload: https://www.deviantart.com/captainraidriar/art/Keepin-Warm-756501830 -FA Upload: She has removed it. I paid $65 for the commission so I wouldn't even receive half so I declined. She claims she will also not refund me because the piece is finished. Proof of the commission agreement, payment, and partial refund can be found below. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7wmxtg4cjoxi2mq/AAAlE_8os3Jg3DUZDuznYAi2a?dl=0 Update 1/14/22 I did some digging and wasn't to hard to find that Raidriar had an alt account on FA and a new (active) account on twitter going by the name of Sybilich. She had the link to the alterative FA account on her DA which goes by the old name CaptainRaidriar. As seen here below this is her DA with a screenshot of her advertising this alterative account on FA. -www.dropbox.com/s/ok1pgdrja8yc… And a screenshot on that account has her active twitter as well. -www.dropbox.com/s/iuoug43b2vak… -www.dropbox.com/s/l6f2cvhbu6tg… Due to this evidence I can confidently say that Sybilich is CaptainRaidriar's alt account and will be updating the beware accordingly.
  16. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1008605.html WHO: Murdoxy/Stellary/Inkyfox/Spiffy WHERE: Furaffinity & Email WHAT: Three digital pieces, valued at a total of $45. WHEN: September 2014 EXPLAIN: In September of 2014 I decided to purchase three pieces from (then) Murdoxy. Equaling up to $45 total. I ordered these from Murdoxy from my Furaffinity account Blysse as seen below: Note 1 This is where I inquired originally about the commission. Note 2 This is where we agreed on the price. Note 3 Confirming payment Note 4 First (and only) WIP. On October 10th I received a WIP (as seen in the 4th note above) of two of the three commissions seen here: WIP 1 WIP 2 These would be the only images of those commissions I would ever see. On October 19th, 2014 Murdoxy posted a journal about moving over to the account Stellary. Journal Seen Here Once the move was finished a journal was posted on Stellary's to-do list with me shown on it as paid and sketched even to this day. To-Do List On Stellary As Of Today After some time passed I wanted to know why I had not received my commission so I checked in on Stellary. Admittedly I should have checked in ALOT sooner but honestly I forgot about the commission for a while. I came back to Stellary's page to find this journal about them leaving Furaffinity for good. Journal About Leaving Fa Posted May 10th, 2016 So I did exactly what Stellary suggested, which was contact them via Email. I emailed Stellary THREE times over the next year without ever getting a reply. I also left a shout on Stellary's Furaffinity account hoping to get some kind of answer. Email 1 (Jan 20th, 2017) Email 2 (May 25th, 2017) Shout (Left the same day as email 2, May 25th, 2017) Email 3 (admittedly I was getting a bit agitated at this point. This was on Dec 9th, 2017 and I have still had no answer at this point from Stellary). So now we get to today. So today I woke up and was checking on old commissions. I had honestly forgotten about Stellary for a while since it had been almost four years now since I commissioned them. I checked Stellary's account to see if anything new was posted and found this shout. To me this seemed to indicate that Stellery had a new account under "Spiffy" they were operating from again. I checked their Leaving Fa journal again and it seems they used the same name for their tumblr so the name of the new account seemed to match up. Leaving Fa Journal Again For Reference Of The Tumbler name Being The Same As The New Fa Name "Spiffy" So I decided to send this new account a note to see if I could finally go ahead and get a refund. Low and behold Spiffy has blocked me on BOTH of my main accounts (the one I used to commission them back in 2014 and the new account I have switched to since then). Message I Tired To Send (I actually see now that I made a mistake when messaging Spiffy and said two years ago when it was really four years, but that isn't really the point). Block Proof I was able to send my message out from my VERY old account that I also use to watch Murdoxy on here. I sent this early this morning but as of this posting it has not been read by Spiffy. But I honestly have very little hope of them replying. So far I have been completely ignored and then blocked by Stellary/Murdoxy/Spiffy for wanting information on a commission that is almost four years late at this point. I realize I waited longer than I should have to follow up on the commission but I don't believe I deserve to be ran off on because of it. I really didn't want to submit one of these because I am normally able to solve these types of issues myself, however in this case I feel I have done all I can on my own. At this point all I want from the artist is a refund so that we may both move on with our lives. One of the characters I commissioned from them I no longer own and another one of them has since been retired. Getting the art at this point would almost be a disappoint. PROOF: All attached files are located in order here. Edit 1: As of 1:50 PM CST today 08/08/2018 Spiffy has read my note about a refund but has not replied. I will update again if they reply. Edit 2: Fixed the links. Sorry about that! Edit 3: As of 11/23/2018 the artist had still not replied. I suspect I was blocked again. I don’t intend to make any further attempts to contact them on furaffinity because of their rules, however I may email the artist again in the future about this. If so I will update again as needed.
  17. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1005929.html WHO: https://twitter.com/Kays_Creations WHERE: Twitter WHAT: A premade husky fursuit tail WHEN: 02/03/18 EXPLAIN: I saw Kay tweeted about a few premade tails that were for sale. The husky tail matched a fursuit head I have currently and I expressed my interest in it. She was very quick to respond to me and I sent my payment, during that time I also won originally a fursuit tail but requested to switch it to paws since I was buying a tail from her. She was ok with the change and I sent my reference sheet for the character, I wasn't in a hurry for it so I agreed with shipping both items together assuming they would both be done by BLFC (which is in May). So I left it at that until April, I saw she was tweeting about bringing finished commissions to BLFC and I asked her if it'll be possible to have her bring the items to the con. Kay stated she would try to bring it with her, I didn't bring it up again until April 30th. She never responded to my messages since then, I messaged her after BLFC requesting her to mail out the tail on Jun 15th. Kay was tweeting about how she was in a car accident after the con and was in the process of moving, so I waited the 26th to ask her about a refund. I did get impatient about it and filed a dispute, but I've waited two months since her last response to my messages. I gave her until the 11th of July before escalating the dispute to Paypal. Right now the last message I sent her was requesting a refund since I know that disputes will ding your account and as someone who also takes commissions. I know how important it is to be able to access Paypal. I know she's activate on her main account and is ignoring my requests for a refund. I've been very patient giving her time to respond since I knew she was busy with moving, but I feel like I'm being ignored. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but I feel she is very unprofessional. WHERE: I met her at ANE 2018 at her table, who had a square and her tablet with some works of art on the table. WHAT: Traditional art, a sketch of my character WHEN: From February 24th to June 2018 EXPLAIN: I met her at one of the artist alley tables at ANE. She looked professional and like most of the other artists there. She was kind and well mannered at first glance. I have her a reference of my character and had paid for the sketch via her square. She said it would be completed for the next day, Sunday. On Sunday I got a text saying she couldn't make it because she took a train up to Boston from RI and she couldn't get there in time, to which she said she would mail me the work and I was fine with that. She promised she would send me the work the next day and, nothing. March 2nd I asked if everything was okay and if stuff has been sent out, and she said it would ship next Monday. Nothing again, I contacted her again March 17th, and didn't get a reply until April 7th saying her phone broke, and she lost addresses presumably? I had filed a claim with the bank at this point and just wanted my money back. She had said she could offer a refund but I have not gotten a message back from her since April 8th. The bank would not refund me as of June 2018 since the money was given "willingly" even though it was for an item that I never received. I'm not sure if the art at the table was even hers with the amount of run arounds I was getting. I tried to remain positive and when I had gotten into contact with her again I felt bad and said once I was refunded my money, if she got her things together I would pay her in hopes she would do it this time. But I was never refunded, and never got the piece. PROOF: https://s33.postimg.cc/yzwlvuo3z/kurumi.png She has no social media that I'm aware of and I have no other way of contacting her. She responded pretty quickly and all conversation until September was quick, taking no more than a week for replies. She would send occasional WIP photos and I was happy [1]. My first payment via PayPal was on July 24th and the second one was on September 6th [2]. She was fine with how the payment plan was and there were no disputes whatsoever. But then, she just seemed to drop off the face of the Earth. I’d contact her about once a month to try and see what was going on [3]. Her Facebook page never updated and I had no other ways of contacting her. So, I sent a dispute into PayPal in December for both of my payments. She then responded to them fairly quickly, apologizing for her lack of communication. She then offered to give a partial refund, promised to improve her communication, and promised some extra goodies when I got the suit (Unfortunately, I do not have any screenshots of our conversation through PayPal, though I have tried to get them recently). I accepted and she sent a refund [4]. She also recommended I use her email, which she gave me, in order to contact her more efficiently. Unfortunately, I was naïve and dropped both cases, saying they were resolved (because at the time I thought they were). She sent one last set of WIP photos within a week, then disappeared again afterwards [5]. To this day, I’ve contacted her about once a month to try and get her back. I have contacted her through every form of media I could find, including FA and DA. I have threatened, though not followed through with demanding a refund and taking legal action. To be honest, I don’t know how I would go about doing all that, I just wanted to get her attention. I honestly just want my fursuit. WHEN: October 2017 — present (May 2018) EXPLAIN: I ordered a custom character commission from ToasterKiwi's auction back in October 2017. I didn't receive a WIP until December 2017 and no further visual updates since then. Meanwhile, the artist has output tons of artwork and merchandise for conventions and shop orders and is plenty active on Twitter throughout this duration, yet has no progress update for me about the order. The last communication I had was in March 2018 where she claims to still be working on the order, but provides zero visual updates. I am Tythius on DeviantArt. (I have a Gyazo Pro account so all screenshots saved there are permanent.) General timeline of notes from the artist, sorted in the DA search function which removes any indicator of read or unread status. (Proof 0.) TIMELINE: 18 October 2017: Purchased a custom adopt commission from an auction for 200 USD. Paid, artist confirms commission, and details are exchanged. (Proof 1. Proof 2. Proof 3. Proof 4. Proof 5. Proof 6.) No further communication from artist until December 2017. 6 December 2017: Artist provides a rough sketch of the design plan. I request some changes and the artist agrees. (Proof 7. Proof 8.) No further communication from artist until March 2018. 17 March 2018: After not hearing from the artist for roughly three months now, I request an update. The artist responds and claims she is still working on it, but shows no visual WIP. (Proof 9.) No further communication from artist since. Posts an adoptable on 1 May 2018. 21 May 2018: The artist is incredibly active on Twitter throughout this duration from March to May, responding to tweets, tweeting, retweeting, producing and sending out merchandise, etc. I send a note on 21 May 2018 requesting an update with a visual WIP. Unread. (Proof 10. Proof 11.) After 21 May 2018: The artist tweets very often on Twitter and continues to be extremely active there. No response on DeviantArt. I've sent a Twitter DM on 25 May 2018 and it has yet to be read/responded to despite the artist logging on and retweeting something on the 26th. (Proof 12. Proof 13. Proof 14.) Examples of very frequent Twitter activity including more adoptables on 1 May 2018: (Ex. 1, Ex. 2, Ex. 3) Please check the Twitter account for many more posts during the 7-month period of minimal communication with me. Also took Valentine's Day commissions and finished those: Ex. 4. In short, very, very high levels of activity and art without a single update on my commission that didn't have to be initiated by me. PERSONAL NOTE: The other custom adopt that was purchased from the same auction was finished within two months. I am still waiting on mine with extremely poor and irresponsible communication from this artist and I am so incredibly disappointed with her. She is clearly very active on the internet and extremely active attending cons and yet she can't be bothered notifying me of delays or progress when the wait has now hit 7 months. Even a simple acknowledgement of my messages anywhere would have been acceptable. This is insulting for someone of her caliber and popularity and overwhelmingly unprofessional considering the amount of money at stake. Outrageous. Tired of ads? Upgrade to account with Professional
  21. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/995528.html This imgur album may be easier to follow, but I will copy the relevant information in the proper template as well. https://imgur.com/a/vqw5xcR WHO: The artist is named Fr0stbit3 on Furaffinity. WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/fr0stbit3/ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26222681/ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/27231252/ WHAT: Digital art, solo character NSFW commission, offered by the artist in pre-posed slots. WHEN: Initial contact was February 3rd, 2018 when the commission was accepted. Payment details were provided on February 4th, and payment was also sent on February 4th. On March 19th, email communication began inquiring about the commission, and then a month's deadline for a refund was communicated and accepted. On April 20th, I opened a PayPal dispute to reinitiate contact. The refund was refused, and the dispute was elevated to a claim. On April 24th, the claim was resolved in the Buyer's (mine) favor. On May 1st, the Seller/Artist, Fr0stbit3, reopened the claim to appeal to PayPal. On May 4th, the appeal was denied by PayPal. Fr0stbit3 proceeded to post an unauthorized image of my character, using the title and description to insult and defame me. I decided to create an Artists Beware entry. EXPLAIN: This began when I asked for a pre-posed commission slot Fr0stbit3 was opening in February. The idea was a line of dragon characters in pre-made poses would be completed individually for the buyers and then posted in a group pic at the conclusion. https://imgur.com/m6Yru9V This is my initial comment on the submission page inquiring for a slot. Page is still available as of 5/4/2018. I inquired after a slot for the "Dragon Wall", pre-posed pictures for dragon characters to be lined up in a group picture. [NSFW link] https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26222681/ https://imgur.com/cm67HUZ Here is the note after the comment. I provided references and my paypal information, he replied with the price and his PayPal information. https://imgur.com/Qst1p6l As you can see by the date I paid the same day (with tip!). The payment has since been refunded after I filed a dispute, which the following screenshots will show. https://imgur.com/8Kje8Iz About a month and a half later, I checked Fr0stbit3's Furaffinity page to see if he'd made any progress on the Dragon Wall. When I tried to navigate to the page from my note inbox, I got the error "user has voluntarily disabled access to their userpage", which was a big red flag for me. He has since reactivated his page. Worried that an artist had taken my money and run, I tried using his paypal address to email him, and to my relief he responded the next day. He assured me he would be providing a refund as soon as he could, but couldn't due to issues in his personal life. https://imgur.com/LHNOaEr I expressed my sympathy and asked for a deadline for a refund, and he said it could be up to a month, but he'd try to get it to me earlier. After this, I had no contact with him for a month. https://imgur.com/fF6AtiY This image is read from bottom to top. After a month of no contact and no refund, I reinitiated contact via Paypal by opening a dispute. Paypal's first step of the dispute process is simply the Buyer (me) contacting the Seller (Fr0stbit3). I explained what had already happened and informed him I had opened a dispute for this reason. He responded with "I told you to be patient with me" while simultaneously denying he had received any previous email from me. After that I realized that he was not going to be willingly provide any refund to me, was providing no revised deadlines, so I escalated the dispute to a Claim in order to have the transaction refunded. https://imgur.com/qkgo9uV He proceeded to send me several messages on FA, urging me to check my email. I did, and saw nothing, until I thought to check the email address I use as my Paypal. He also seemed to be confusing me for someone else named "Matt". https://imgur.com/YKjhrvO I checked my alternate email and found this from him, finding out that he'd gone back on his promise of a refund and went ahead and completed the image. I found this surprising, as he'd never even mentioned the possibility of him actually completing the commission, he'd only spoken about refunds. I also found it surprising that rather than actually send me the completed image to complete the commission, he'd chosen to hold it hostage instead. https://imgur.com/yBjpVIW For organization and clarity's sake, I forwarded the email he sent to my own email address, that I'd used to initially contact him, forwarded it again to him and then reopened our email thread, so that he could easily see my prior messages and stop having me confused for whoever Matt is. https://imgur.com/gK4yCmt I used slightly sterner language in response to his decision to hold the image hostage rather than fulfill his end of the transaction. I made it clear that he had communicated to me that the image was not going to be completed, and that I had been waiting for a refund. At this point, I had no interest in the completed image, as this commission had proved to be an extremely frustrating experience. However, I was very much looking forward for this experience to be over, so I made it clear that if he wanted the dispute to be resolved, he could just send me the image and I'd call it even. He responded as you can see above, with a pixelated/censored version, insisted that he could not trust me, and that he would only send me the file after I dropped the dispute, reiterating it with two emails in a row, making sure to mention in both that I could not be trusted. I was honestly surprised to see that he had done the image, but he still had not sent it to me, only a blurred version, so his part of the transaction was still incomplete. https://imgur.com/WnHAltB I did my best to clarify my position and made it clear that the Paypal claim existed because he had failed to provide what I had paid for, and that if he fulfilled the transaction, the claim would be dropped. But he doubled down, refusing to provide the image, and also claiming he never provided refunds. https://imgur.com/qqWOPKn Despite my better judgement, I tried to make the situation crystal clear about how the ball was in his court, and that he could either let PayPal settle the dispute or provide the full image to satisfy the claim. I did not have much hope for the results, and I was tired of arguing, and made it clear that it was my final communication. https://imgur.com/GTO96pO He then proceeded to be far more public, filling my shoutbox with messages. I provided a shout back asking him not to contact me unless it was with the image or a refund, via Paypal or email. I then blocked his Furaffinity account. https://imgur.com/KwZcvIF PayPal resolved the dispute in my favor, and they forced the refund. I was content to drop this particularly frustrating experience and move on, but I then received another email from Fr0stbit3 informing me that he would be appealing the claim and providing screenshots to PayPal, and also threatened to write a Buyer Beware against me. I was not overly concerned, as the screenshots demonstrate several times that he refused to provide the image he was paid for. https://imgur.com/7AfpLsB A few days passed and the PayPal dispute was closed, again, in my favor. Fr0stbit3 responded by posting the image to his FA scrap gallery, which includes a depiction of my character and my character's name, with the title "Scumbag Wall", claiming I had cheated him. I reported him on FA for harassment. At this point, the situation has concluded. I have received my refund and am happy to leave it at that, though I hope the submission he posted is taken down after my ticket is reviewed on FA. I hope this Artist Beware entry will help provide context for this transaction and help warn other commissioners from attempting to do business with this individual. PROOF: All screencaptures are in the following Imgur album, as shown above: https://imgur.com/a/vqw5xcR Update: At this time the submission he was using to defame me has been taken down and his FA has been suspended, along with another user who was posting death threats to my shout page. Their suspensions lasted about two days.

I also have not seen any of the YCH sales completed and posted, but cannot verify that they were never done. Given the circumstances, I am aware that if the artist's main income is through art, then regular output of sales and adopts is to be expected while the artist works on a commission. This was never the problem. The problem was the lack of communication and continued lack of communication. As it stands, I have no finished product and the artist either refuses to get in touch or has neglected to for whatever reason. The real lesson here is to never let an artist drag you past PayPal's 6-month buyer protection period, regardless of their reasoning, unless they have solid communication and steady visual updates. Don't make my mistake. 12 May 2018: I managed to open a dispute with PayPal through their phone line. 17 May 2018: PayPal opens the case and awaits a response from the artist. EXPLAIN: i commissioned them october 11th for an animated pixel icon. they responded to my request approving my commission and letting me know they set up the widget for me to pay (initial conversation - https://sta.sh/012cq1844cnp) (proof of payment - https://sta.sh/01voj3nv3v84) because i had seen the vast amount of people asking before me, and as an animator myself i knew an icon of the sort would take time, i wasnt very concerned about the wait for a while. around january/february i wondered about it but didn’t think much. however, what i noted was that if they were working on all of the commissions owed before me, surely around this time mine should be done. and i watch both their main and side accounts on da, and i could see this wasnt the case. a lot of their recent art is either gift art or art for themself. i figured if they had such a big backlog, they shouldnt be doing much else besides their commissions. i questioned them about it here (https://sta.sh/02huower20g) and i received no response. after i commented they changed their taglines to say they were "slow and dead", and they stopped posting for a few days. however, i glanced at their favorites and noticed that while they werent posting, they were still online, because one of their recent favorites was posted after the supposed hiatus. i asked another commissioner about them and learned that they seem to have become overwhelmed by the workload they have. its hard for me to feel bad for them, as they shouldnt have taken 34 commissions in one day (this isnt an exaggeration, i started a chart to see just how much work they had and how much money they owe and here it is https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIvkpo3SrVCKU_2vps8yA3v39Yu62vjwB2BUzjhHcyE/edit?usp=sharing), and while it would be uncomfortable to have to admit to having little to no progress on my commission, id greatly prefer it to being blatantly ignored like this. i know im not the only one dealing with this issue with them. im asking for a refund tonight but i dont expect a response, and judging from the other commissioners experience, i doubt ill get my money back even if i do get a response. ive never done something like this before, i hope i didnt do anything wrong here i just want it to be known that exitoricanqueen seems to have a lack of communication and lack of priority for owed art. update: this was orginally written march 29th. it is now april 11th, and i have asked about a refund 3 times now, on the 29th (https://sta.sh/0286sl77e5xj), 3rd (https://sta.sh/01deygrow1lu), and today, the 11th (https://sta.sh/063uojq9adm). i have received no response despite exitoricanbean being clearly active, posting art and talking on their page. in my sent folder the note is shown to be unread, which means that it was either set to be that way or they just never bothered to read it in the first place. all screencaps here: https://sta.sh/2c1yt75xddh update: finished the backlog chart. this is (almost, at least everything i could find on their commissions journal) every commission they have taken from october 1st 2017 onwards, and the costs, and which are finished or not https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIvkpo3SrVCKU_2vps8yA3v39Yu62vjwB2BUzjhHcyE/edit?usp=sharing update 2: on april 20th i noted them again here (https://sta.sh/01bf6t8a9xyz). after a week of silence exitorican began posting again on both their main and alt accounts, but have still continued to blatantly ignore me. im running out of hope for this because it truly seems like they just dont care about what theyve done. all of my notes are unread (https://sta.sh/0iuwhutaa11). i have contacted this person 6 times now and there is no logical explanation for them to have not seen my messages. they are ignoring me and i genuinely dont know what to do. im considering noting again and telling them ill post this to my deviantart if they dont respond but at this point im losing hope.

WHO: Lost-Paw WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/lost-paw WHAT: Two digital art commissions, one an upgrade of a previous sketch, totaling $300 WHEN: Mid-July '17 — Present EXPLAIN: Back in July I commissioned Lost-Paw for $300 worth of art, an entirely new piece as well an upgrade to a previous one I had gotten from them, with the promise from them that it would be completed immediately. I waited a week, and they said it would be done. Then a month later I heard it would be done by the end of August. In late September I asked for a refund and they said they would give me one, as over two months had passed at this point and I was entering school again. Since then I periodically checked in with them to see how it was going and heard things about them working on, but never answers that were too specific. They opened comms multiple times, and made promises that art would be completed but they've barely posted anything on their FA or Twitter since then. Now 8 months after my original comm they haven't read any of my messages in over a month, but are still active on Twitter. Additionally they seem to owe a good number of other people, and have no publicly posted queue anywhere to track just how many it is. As it's been over 180 days I'm no longer protected by PayPal or eligible for a chargeback, so I'm left without options. PROOF: Full conversation history (Some censored NSFW art): https://imgur.com/a/aAaH7 Edit 3/27/2018: Shortly after this post was made the artist contacted this user and sorted the issue out with them, being extremely apologetic about it and quickly issuing a refund for the full $300.
  25. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/987914.html WHO: Lakrust WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/lakrust/ WHAT: Animated icon WHEN: Early October 2017 EXPLAIN: I commissioned Lakrust for an animated icon, and paid them, in full up front in october 2017, despite wanting to pay half first then half later. Several months later I messaged her and asked about my commission, she said she hadn't forgot me and was still working on it. I mentioned that she was taking commissions and she said its her main job, that she needs the money. Two months later I mentioned that people were saying I should post her to AB, no reply. So here I am posting her to AB. PROOF: https://i.imgur.com/bDtYoEa.png https://i.imgur.com/pGrc6e5.png https://i.imgur.com/gcvegXn.png https://i.imgur.com/pw3XkIf.png Additional details: I accused her of being a con artist, but after cooling down, and some suggestions from others I think I don't have the evidence for such a claim right now, and would like to apologize for getting ahead of myself. I'm communicating with the artist and hoping for a resolution that works for everyone. AD2: Artist disappeared again. No word on a refund or completion dates. I got responses when emailing the artist when she didn't know who I was, but as soon as I mentioned who I was, complete silence. I'm back to thinking my original thought of this being a scam was correct. Disappearing immediately after finding out I can't get a paypal refund seems pretty bad.
