About Me

  1. armaina

    Space Meme

the person in question used the name spacemuttt on most services http://web.archive.org/web/20181124015225/https://www.furaffinity.net/user/spacemuttt/ Their account is deactivated so all that's left is the archive from 2018, you can see they at one point advertised fursuits on FA They also had a Deviantart, Twitter, Weasyl, Ink Bunny, and Instagram under the same name, some of those accounts no longer exist. But Spacemuttt was the name they used for accounts, not space meme. And most of those accounts appear abandoned.
  2. Update! I managed to get my points back but they didn't come from Cotton. They came from a "friend" of theirs who claimed they didn't know if Cotton had another account and they messaged me out of the blue because they saw my DA journal regarding the matter. I have reason to believe that Cotton does have a second account as all their characters are magically on a new account that is actively communicating with the account that refunded me. I do believe the only reason I was refunded at all was because of the Journal I had up on DA, and the beware. Neither of which I have any intention of removing (I will update them to say I was refunded by a third party though) because it reflects their doggy nature, and in the end the end the points came from a user I don't recognize claiming the Cotton hates confrontation. So do I, but I didn't have a choice and wasn't about to stay quiet about not getting refunded.
  3. @Lemonbrat This is... Insane. If you were uncomfortable making the suit without a DTD, you should've cancelled the commission. Several things needed to be reworked because they were done incorrectly in the first place. The head was CLEARLY A MOUSE. This character is a cat. The first tail was way too thick for a cat. You have made tons of cat fursuits. None of their tails look like that first one you provided. The final product has atrocious sewing. Forget the wrinkles. Look at the seams. The tail attachment IS messed up. Those are the marks of someone who didn't know what they were doing and tried to over-correct when they should've just started over. I've made those same mistakes. You do make good suits. You make tons of feline suits even. This suit is nothing like those previous suits, and even if the customer isn't blameless, this suit is absolutely not worth what OP paid. Someone(s) on your team messed up, and you should have had some sort of oversight to prevent giving photos of this "finalized" suit. Even if the commissioner was a total [newbie], this fursuit should've never seen the light of day in this condition. I can't believe you're doubling down on it. It is absolutely nothing like the quality you usually offer.
  4. I misread the messages and was thinking "Well yeah thats a VERY good rodent base I wonder what the problem is" then I realized that somehow it was supposed to be a cat...wtf. As someone who's seen their fursuits in person at furcon this is CLEARLY not even close to the quality they're able to put out. my partner was considering purchasing one of their premades last furcon and was going to check out their booth with me this year if they had one again. I'll let them know to not give them any business and look elsewhere. The quality is absolutely appalling and you deserve much better. I wish you the best of luck at getting the money back or what you paid for. Though I'd assume a person would prefer their money back so they could pay someone who actually knows what they're doing and respects their customers instead. thanks for taking the time to post this beware
  5. First, the no refund policy absolutely doesn't hold up and them trying to enforce that is ridiculous. Secondly, that is clearly a rodent head. I can't believe they were actually doubling down that the rodent head would magically look like a cat head once furred. I don't see that working at all, the muzzle and cheeks are the wrong shape and the ears are very round. There's a reason foam bases are used and it's because they affect what the final shape looks like. Just a really weird beware As for the tail, curved tails like that are often made so they don't drag on the ground, most fursuits have curved tails like that regardless of the character unless they're floor draggers. It keeps them from getting dirty.
  6. Dec. 26th, 2011 at 1:19 PM poizenkat WHO: Shivra WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/shivra WHAT: three derp badges http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6647697/ WHEN: October 9 2011 is when i paid PROOF: Sadly i deleted my notes and do not have where i stated exactly what i want, but i do have paypal screenshots here; http://i40.tinypic.com/24viaeg.png http://i43.tinypic.com/2a9ruk8.png EXPLAIN: I paid for one rainbow dash derp, and two derps of my characters (Li-Li and Blue). These were to be picked up at furfright; http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2783126/ http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2808943/ Okay, so I find her table at furfright only to be told that she forgot them and will ship them to me for free after the con. That's fine, a while later i even see this journal; http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2841802/ and thought "awesome, im pretty sure she has my address so i'll get them soon!" but...nope. never got them. so i sent her some small reminders blah blah, no reply. I see a journal that she moved so...okay? http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2925667/ i was fine with that, i moved recently too and understand that things get hectic. So then i see an entry pop up here about her http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/550360.html and contact her straight there. I also see that she doesnt accept notes for commissions now and only does them through email (which i did NOT know because all contact was previously done by FA's note system in the first place) so i sent her an email. a few days later i left a shout on her FA as well. Now it was possibly a bit rushed and i didnt have patience, but since it seems that they had the time to ship other people's orders I'm just a bit worried as to why she wont ship mine. I know that at least the rainbow dash and Li-Li badges are done http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6647697/ so idk. Edit: She JUST contacted me before the entry was accepted (kinda creepy actually LOL) and says she has to redo them because they are lost. It seems that her main problem is actually shipping them out, so i hope this ends well. Edit 2: Just got them today, I'd like to mark this as resolved, thanks!
  7. Oct. 1st, 2011 at 1:29 AM marblestheskunk WHO: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/timitei/ WHERE: Furaffinity and LJ WHAT: A digital ref sheet WHEN: July PROOF: In explanation Well I saw Timitei's post in teeny com here: http://teenycom.livejournal.com/970882.html I followed it to their FA and commissioned them for 2 ref sheets, one of them was done in a timely mater but I still have yet to recieve the second one. I sent them the commission info in a journal which has since been deleted but here is a screenshot of when she said that she had lost my commission info and needed it again: She then did my ref sheet but still had not done the other one. She then deleted the journal with the info, and I guess forgot about my note describing the raccoon so I reminded her and gave her another description Time went by and she still has not done it, nor has she responded to ANY of my notes I've been sending her asking for my money back, they say on FA they are unread, here is the most recent one: She also posted this on august 31st, but has had a submission since then: This journal was put up out of the blue with no explanation of when she will be completing my commission, its only $5 but I still want a refund and feel that it is wrong and that shes probably doing this to others aswell, seeing the comments on teenycom.
  8. Aug. 2nd, 2011 at 7:55 PM bladebandit This is in regards to the following post: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/488291.html (Thanks again to all those who gave advice!) WHO: Poisonousvixen URLS: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/poisonousvixen/ https://inkbunny.net/PoisonousVixen http://poisonousvixen.sofurry.com/ There's also another account which appears to be an alternate account of hers on FA, but I don't know if I should mention it as I'm not 100% sure! WHAT: This minor beware is with regards to their rude behaviour and disregard to T.O.S. They have been banned on FA for art theft/ban evasion. I don't know any exact details of this, I'm afraid! However, the following comment provided me with further info on her, and perhaps why more details/further bewares on her may be needed: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/488291.html?thread=17570915 More screenshots of her rude/curious behaviour (Note that NONE of these are related to or directed at me! Just providing more proof to back up my case): http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen1.png http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen2.png http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen4.png http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen5.png http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen6.png http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen7.png Also; these are rather interesting and contradictory: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen3.png http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/DarkCerberus/Screen8.png Screenshotted from her (Banned) deviantART account. Of course, I can't really speak for any of this, as they're not my personal experiences. However, I felt I should provide more proof of her behaviour as I don't have many screenshots of the rudetowards me! PROOF/EXPLAIN: This first part is about the commissioning process. I don't have much to go on with this, as I (stupidly) deleted the notes in question. In short, I just wanted it over with and to get it off my mind, but in hindsight...do I regret it. So for the first part, I just have a 'my side of the story' as such. Poisonousvixen approached me for a commission, explained what they wanted, payment sent, all without a hitch. They were very kind and polite at this point - lovely person! It wasn't until the commission was completed that I encountered problems. After sending the file, Poisonousvixen was incredibly rude about the corrections that they wanted. They kept talking about how I'd gotten their character's colours wrong (She said something about 'My character is blue, not turquoise'). She then proceeded to send a note entitled 'List of things wrong' and stated how unhappy she was with the commission and the many things she wanted me to correct. I apologised and fixed what she wanted to the best of my ability. After which...she suddenly, and simply, sent a note which said 'PERFECT!'. Confusing. Upon uploading it to her FurAffinity gallery, she didn't link back at all - something which I ask of in my TOS and something which just minutes before, I'd asked her to do in a note, and she'd agreed to. I posted a comment politely asking if she could link back to my original submission and/or my FA page, as I had originally asked her. I remember her asking 'Why?' before deleting the submission (Presumably to get rid of my comment?) and reuploading it correctly...but with a few rude words in the description about being 'spammed' in the comments. Confused, I just left it be. I can never be bothered to deal with rude people, and it was at this point I proceeded to delete the notes...learn from my mistakes, I guess? Ugh. This latter part is with regards to my TOS. In my TOS, I state that I only allow re-uploading to FurAffinity galleries. I also state I'm happy to make exceptions to this of course, but only if people ask for permission first, and give clear links back. It came to my attention however, that Poisonousvixen had uploaded my art to their SoFurry and Inkbunny galleries, without my permission and without asking...and with no credit or link back whatsoever. I know it's only a minor thing, but I thought I'd best let them know that they hadn't asked for permission and hadn't linked back to me. I proceeded to make an account, simply so I could report the images to the admins. I posted a comment on the submission, which read: "Hi there, I didn't give you permission to post this on here...could you please remove it? Thank you." (Screenshot of this comment, with cropped out username and userpic: http://pics.livejournal.com/bladebandit/pic/0007qpaa/g194 ) I don't have a screenshot of their original submission however, as she deleted the image almost immediately. Within minutes...she'd reposted it. Here's the description under the new image: On the plus side, I now have a link back. But...the coldness and the rudeness in the description utterly astounds me. Reported the submission to the admins again, still awaiting a response. A while later, I found this comment thread under the submission: Rude again, and also incorrect. Edited out the top person's username, and will edit the userpic out if requested! In short, Poisonousvixen was incredibly rude and showed a disregard to my TOS, even when I spoke to them politely. Quite a few people have mentioned their problems with her. So hopefully this post will spread the word and warn people to stay away! Let me know if anything's missing and I'll edit to the best of my abilities. Apologies again for the lack of screenshots on the first part! ?
  9. Edit: Got a DA account, sent her a note and gave her two page shouts... she ignored me. I can see she's responded to other people, and to one of them she said she wishes the trolls would shut up. >_< THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/390145.html#cutid1 WHO: Eclypse of FA / Leathurkatt on DA WHERE: http://leathurkatt.deviantart.com/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/eclypse/ WHAT: A Celtic pawprint badge costing $15 and paid for with cash and in person. I had the understanding that it was traditional, but I don't have proof of that. WHEN: I paid for it in November of 2009. The last I heard from her until this summer was in September of 2010, saying she would finish the badge and also try to send me at least $10. Then, on June 23rd, 2011, she sent me the... "finished product" in an FA note. EXPLAIN: This started out as a situation involving an artist who was ridiculously flaky and bad at communication and never showed me any proof that she'd worked on my art. You can read about this part in the previous A_B entry about her. I had pretty much given up on her. Then she sent me the finished product in June 2011. It looked NOTHING like what I'd asked for. I wanted a paw with the colors magenta, purple, and blue and some Celtic hearts worked into the design. I also asked for a name and paid for a solid-color background. But I was just so sick of dealing with her that I didn't bother responding at all. A few weeks later, I looked at the image again and got suspicious. It appeared to be a recolor of another badge in her gallery, and the file name of mine had "cougar" in it. I looked at her commission queue and saw that another person had commissioned her for a cougar paw. I contacted this person, and it turns out the artist sent both of us the exact same image, which had been drawn for the other person's trade a year and a half ago. The image in Eclypse's gallery is a recolor of the paw she drew for the trade, not the other way around. I should have realized right away she was a liar. When she sent me the completed image, she claimed that she finished the artwork, then lost it, and thought she'd have to start over again. The file she "lost" had been created in January of 2010. Well, in September of 2010, she claimed that she had the lines done and just needed to finish it. The person who traded with Eclypse has been in contact with Eclypse on DA. I don't have the details of their conversation, but I know Eclypse has been extremely immature and rude. Eclypse claimed that she sent me the wrong image, then said what she did was completely acceptable, then blocked the person. I will let said person know about this A_B post, in case she wants to add anything to it. I myself have not been in touch with Eclypse. I sent her a note on FA saying, "Over a year and a half since I commissioned you, and still all I get is the same exact image you made for someone else. Wow." She has not read it. If she doesn't respond here, I'll have to resort to getting a DA account, because she is obviously active there. I have no interest in her art after this mess and plan to demand a refund. I don't want to get a DA account just to chase after her but that seems to be my option. PROOF: In this gallery I have screenshots of the paw she sent me, the traced paw from her gallery, key parts of our conversation, her price list, and her queue. http://pics.livejournal.com/paula_mino/gallery/00008qs8 I hope this is an okay way to share the images.
  10. I commissioned this individual July 28, 2018. I had recieved one WIP image, and then nothing after that. No updates were given to me unless I asked, and I didn't message them often. It got to a point that they weren't responding, so I had to go and see if they had any other social media just to contact them. January 4th hit and I realized I was never going to recieve my artwork. So I asked for a refund, and they said it could take days to weeks. I said okay and left it be for literally months. I then messaged them recently. They read the message, and ignored it. So I called them out on it and they responded very rudely. They are extremely unprofessional, I do not recommend them. Please, do not commission this individual for artwork or even fursuits. You are not guaranteed to get what you payed them for, and I highly doubt they'll ever actually give me a refund.
  11. I am so sorry this happened to you, OP. And this is why I'm terrified of commissioning fursuits. I cannot stand how irresponsible this person was. Yes, life gets in the way, yes, accidents happen, yes, mental illness kicks all of our tails. However, using those as excuses to not work, is never acceptable. If it doesn't fly in an office building, it doesn't fly in the artist's/fandom's world either. Also, using mental illness as an excuse feels like a personal attack on the rest of us. Being mentally handicapped (depression, anxiety, what have you) is not a free ticket from work. You offered a service and you didn't deliver. Simple as that.
  12. I am just. appalled. I mean. I have so many things I could say. But I guess I just want this down for the record: Just because it's common place, doesn't make it right. And that's in reference to the ridiculously long wait times/queues for fursuits and fursuit makers being unable to manage money correctly. It's commonplace. But is is not right. Of course she brought up other excuses, but that one in particular I wanted to comment on. Thank you for writing this beware.
