  1. I agree with @theodor When I cancel, I give my clients a full refund. If my clients cancel, they get back money for work not done. I usually refund in percentage steps, e.g. Lineart finished -> 90% refund, Coloring/shading finished -> 50% refund, Art is almost finished -> 10% refund.
  2. Ohhh! Didn't know that! Fancy!
  3. I noticed that links in the beware descriptions aren't actually clickable links, meaning you'd have to copy and paste them into your URL bar manually to visit websites. Which can be a bit iffy when someone pastes multiple links to multiple accounts into their beware ^^; I also noticed that there's no "comments" link on the preview of bewares. Like, when you click the number of comments on previews, it would take you to the first comment left, on the bottom of the article~ Just some tiny things I noticed!
  4. Yikes. I really looked up to them, oh well. The TOS alone is very frightening and super unfair to customers with the "Kill fee", them only being able to starts after 12-17 *months* and the already mentioned "a**hole clause". Absolutely no.
  5. Seems the images for the emails are broken and display a 404 error, on my end at least!
  6. Update! (if anyone is interested xD) I reminded my client today again and they chose to laminate it themselves and allow me to keep the shipping costs. They're way too busy with college to deal with USPS for now.
  7. @Mortymaxwell Yeah, that was actually one of my concerns ^^;; I'll ask the customer what they prefer if they fail to pick up the badge. If they rather want to print it themselves, I refund the shipping costs. Thank you so much btw, that honestly means a lot 😄
  8. @Bornes I see, thank you! I was just very worried and didn't know what to do, haha ^^; Oh yeah, the only thing I charge extra is the shipping price, nothing else. Thank you to @Mortymaxwell as well!
  9. @Bornes They're aware of the deadline as I have reminded them and mentioned the 21st today again! The artwork was sent per email as a digital copy, as I'm a digital artist. So they technically do have recieved the main artwork. Making the artwork a badge and shipping it is just an extra service and shipping prices are paid on top of the base price. I personally wouldn't want to refund them, as again, they technically do have the artwork as a digital copy. I'm unsue about refunding the shipping costs (in case they want to print it themselves), because as you said, the fault is on them 😕
  10. @Mortymaxwell Thank you! I will try my best. If it comes to shipping it again or them making a badge out of it themselves, I don't mind at all. I just hope it gets resolved somehow ^^;
  11. @Mortymaxwell 1) Yes, they did reply to me. I reminded them today again and they said they'd try to get the badge. 2) They're not on vacation, though they told me they're fairly busy with college, but they can schedule a re-delivery with USPS via phone or via a filled out form on their website. Age is unknown but they did mention their dad in a voicemail. 3) Yes, a tracking number was given to the customer. I also entered the tracking number into Paypal's system under "add tracking information" on the same day I shipped the badge off. Paypal has the tracking number attached to the payment.
  12. Googling his Twitter handle, it seems you're far from alone in this. Perhaps if you can prove to PayPal that they indeed received the artworks, PayPal will let the claims end in your favor?
  13. Hello! I'm a digital artist from Germany and offer an additional service where I print the artwork out, laminate it and then ship the artwork to customers. They receive a digital copy and a physical one, so to speak. However. I'm facing an incident where a customer should have their badge delivered by USPS, yet wasn't home. I always ship with tracking and signature. USPS left a note to either let the customer pick the badge up at their office or that they could schedule a re-delivery. This note was left on the 7th of March. On the 21st, USPS will ship the badge back to me. What do I do with a customer who doesn't pick up/receives their badge? I have made them aware of this incident but nothing got resolved as of yet. I have no idea what to do...
  14. Excuse me but what? Literally ANYONE can file a charge back on PayPal, doesn't matter what country they're from. The option to charge back is not US exclusive. I've sold around 200 commissions as of now and 95% were customers from the US. I only got chargebacked once. This is some backwards logic...
  15. Looks really cool! Thank you for implementing that ^^
  16. I saw that the site now has a red NSFW tag that really stands out. Would it be possible to have such a tag for Resolved entries? I personally believe it should be more attention-worthy if situations got resolved as it's kind of a big deal. Maybe a green "Resolved" tag would fit.
  17. Honestly? The cancellation part was really weird to me. They said they'd cancel it but then later wanted to pick it up again so they won't need to refund you. ...what? Second red flag is that they spent the points before doing their part for some reason. It also sounds like they're a minor, another red flag since they often can't grasp the severity of transactions or customer communication.
  18. I feel like you'll be fine. It's basically the same as if you'd search for a reference photograph of a person doing some pose. There are even real life posing dolls for this usage, so yeah, I think you'll be fine!
  19. I personally would not work with them. I don't trust artists that share personal information with a 3rd party. I'm rather wary the artist will collect personal information for other stuff.
  20. I sometimes print and laminate badges or normal art and shipt them to my clients. I ship with priority, tracking and signature. It only happened once but what should I do if the shipment gets lost or it never arrives? Last time it happened, I refunded my client the shipping costs, was that a good solution? If not, what else should I do? Note: I'm a digital artist, all clients recieve a digital copy, shipping is just an add on, if they want it.
  21. I don't think you'd need a permit for that. You are not going to use that exact photo anyway, you'll just reference it and paint something based on that yourself, the photo of that location is only used as a guide. I think it'd be different if you would use that exact photo for soemthing commercial, like a poster or something.
  22. On the 18th of October, 2018 I commissioned morvin for a flat colored icon/headshot, gave them my character and paid on the same day. On the 3rd of November, I asked for an update and then contacted morvin again on the 5th to give a redirect link to my character. Please note that my original question for an upate went kind of ignored by them. On the 3rd of December, I asked for another update and got a traditional sketch WIP on the same day which I promptly approved. On the 29th of December I asked for another update, voicing my displeasure about the long wait time and minimal communication, which was responded to on the same day, telling me to wait as they (assumingly) had quite a queue on their hands. On the 10th January, I gave them a deadline of 2 weeks to deliver the art, again voicing my displeasure and distrust in them. They responded on the 14th with their own deadline and asked me to wait until the 25th which I agreed to. On the 27th, I told them that the 25th had passed and I gave them a quite lenghty message, asking them to refund me until the end of the week. I recieved my refund in a quietly manner on the same day (27th January). I'm posting this caution/beware as it was kinda stressful dealing with them, though I wish the best for them to better their customer communication and queue management for the future~
  23. I don't really like Patreon, I prefer to give one-time tips than to use a subscription when I like someobody's works. However, when I'm the client, I rather give a tip per Paypal.
  24. As the others said, stop throwing money at them, especially since they don't do anything in the first place. Have you tried to contact them via other mehtods? If it was over email, perhaps try to get a hold of them on social media and vice versa. If you can't, I'd send an ultimatum to them and wait, and possibly do a chargeback if they end up not doing anything after that.
  25. Oh my yikes. Thank you so much for the beware. The amount of guilt tripping and aggressive behavior is appaling. I hope you can somehow get your money back. I don't think this suit maker knows what a commission or work is, since they act so pooprly and don't believe they owe you anything. Very worrysome. I hope they can improve on doing much smaller projects for less people in the future.
