  1. Where do we write about positive outcomes/reviews like the old website had? ?
  2. Seems weird to me. As far as I understood (correct me if I'm wrong), you bid $300 on an auction and you win. But the artist charges $600 for the illustration so you'll pay $900 instead. My question being...what is the $300 paid for? A place on the queue? Shouldn't a place on the queue be given anyway, for free, if you commission someone? If I'm right, about this, I wouldn't commission nor sell something like this. Sounds rather obscure to me.
  3. Absolutely would not commission someone with such a rule. First, what is considered a "legit reason"? Thats super subjective. Example: Customer: Hey you haven't completed the commission in x months, I'd like a refund Artist: That's not a good reason, sorry, I don't give refunds for this reason. Please wait until the art is finished. Basically, they can deny a refund for everything that they don't deem to be "important enough" For the second question, I'd say no again. I don't owe anyone private details about why or what. That's just my take on it~
  4. @Bornes I see! I had to write up an agreement/"contact" for a client some time ago who wished to purchase the rights to a logo commission I did for him. I added an image of it in this post, perhaps it be a bit of help? The client and I both have the .pdf file stored.
  5. I would contact them again and tell them that you manipulate/edit the work and ask them if it counts for that first agreement that you two made as well. Maybe they accept and want you to state their name and what edits you made when someone asks for the creator of the picture. Otherwise, I'd offer a price for the rights and let them accept, decline or haggle over the price, atleast, that's how I'd handle the situation ^^;
  6. Thank you! I try my best to be nice and I don't really like asking or "threatening" people, so I know I did a little bit too soft. First time I had to do this too. I greatly appreciate your feedback and will use it whenever something similiar happens again. Thank you a lot for your time!
  7. Hello AB community! Around 3-4 months ago, I commissioned a Flat colored Headshot/Bust from a user on Furry Amino. I don't remember the actual price but I paid them 5 USD (low, I know). Everything went well first, we exchanged information and payment info, yadda yadda, the typical procedure. I have only recieved a sketch in that time and mostly had to ask for updates myself. They admitted they had a lot of icons (flat colored headshots) to do for others, which made me nervous, I assume they bit more than they can chew. Yesterday I gave them an ultimatum that they should finish my commission in 2 weeks or give me a refund, they have not replied yet. I have compiled a screenshot of our chat here, name and the avatar is blacked out, because this is only an advice post, not a beware or caution. I think if they don't do anything until the 2 weeks have passed, I'll file a Paypal chargeback. https://sta.sh/0ndbhmbpxoi I'd like to know: How can this be fixed? Did I do the right thing? What should I do if they don't reply to the ultimatum? I'm scared that I went too aggressive on them, but I feel like a lined, flat colored headshot wouldn't take that long. Thank you!

    How in the world do they not know what badge your granddaughter ordered from them? I'm an artist too and I wholeheartedly believe it's their job to know what commission belongs to who. Even if a lot of people ordered one, they have to be organised enough to know which badge is made for who and what badge gets sent to what address. The last time a badge got lost in mail for a customer from me, I refunded them the shipping costs. They also had a clear copy of the image and they were happy with the shipping refund. From the sound of it, they also didn't ship it with tracking? I feel like it's important to invest in a bit of extra to pay for a tracking number so the customer can see where the badge is currently, that kind of transparency is important when money was exchanged imo.
  9. I honestly wouldn't do business with either of you two. You both have shown unproffessional, even a tad aggressive behavior towards eachother. I also couldn't imagine doing business with a person who would post or vent about me on social media, which, you both have done to each other as well, even if those weren't direct callouts. No thanks.
  10. Yikes, already their tone makes me super wary of them. They sound super aggressive and quite annoyed, definetly someone to avoid.
  11. That's quite a strange case. Would've been easier if the artist just asked questions if they weren't sure. I also find it questionable that the ref sheet was visible on the finished commission/ych file o.o
