  1. Pending transactions can also mean e-checks. DO NOT work until it clears if this is the case. Also, the screenshot where it says 'sending to' is NOT a payment sent; anyone can get this screenshot. You have to finalize the send. If they are using that as proof, its a scam.
  2. Go through your CC company and get a refund. You can always pay them via paypal if they ever do the badge.
  3. Not sure if it was stated, but if the artists is insisting on a partial refund they absolutely need to provide the sketch to OP, as the partial refund is PAYING FOR said sketch. The fact that they are trying to resell OP's 'sketch' is another bad mark against the artist. (Although I agree, it just looks like a random base they made up to fill the lie)
  4. Did you get a refund? Did they ever send any other messages after that last one in March? I would just take the refund, and if they do ever end up drawing you can send them a tip (even if its $35 to pay for it).
  5. I dont think the OP was asking if they were in the wrong being turned down, but if the artist was in the wrong for asking for twice the offer, which they were, unless there was a minimum. OP said there was a minimum of $20 in their last post, so they should be offering a minimum of $20 per character. Which would have been $40, not $60. I think the miscommunication in this was that artist thought OP was offering $30 for a single, and then asked for two, and OP said they had to pay double for the 2nd character. Info was left out in the first post that is actually key. In a PWYW stream/offer, the minimum would be for a single character. You would have to pay the minimum twice. (unless stated otherwise) $30 for two characters would have been below the minimum of $20 per.
  6. The artist is in the wrong here; unless it was maybe a language barrier thing and they thought you were offering $30 for a character, and they said its x2 price if you want two. PWYW art, as I have done, and seen, is buyer offers a price, artists draws for that price. I limit mine to one character, but it still makes no sense to have to double your payment for two UNLESS there was a minimum.
  7. Both myself and the artist are Canadian, and e-transfers require nothing but email, and 99% of banks do them for free here.
  8. How do you accept a refund for a cash commission? I purchased a commission at a con, and it seems to be going downhill. Getting cash back isnt an option. Should I push for e-transfer, or paypal while they pay the fee? And if they demand paypal but they dont cover the fee, and I am out money, then what?
  9. It was only ever on the front page; the bewares page never showed them. They usually vanish after another visit.
  10. I thought it was an error the first time, but this happens to me all the time! I never really changed any of the settings, so whatever the basic is?
  11. This isnt the first time it's happened, but I keep seeing bewares on the front page that I cant view;
  12. Hello! I am asking for advice on the behalf of my partner who doesnt speak English well enough, and has never commissioned before; I have also been the one doing the communicating because of his language barrier. We both ordered custom plushies, in person at a con. He ordered a 10 inch ish full body, and I got a custom of a small husky pattern they did. We ordered 13th of July. I was given a completion date of the 2nd of August, which was another con. (It was delivered the 3rd) I received no WIPs. (mine was missing freckles, which i had asked for, but I didnt push and left it as is) My partner was told his likely wouldnt be done for the con, but they would try. It was no. It wasnt even started. We have asked for updates every week or two, and the maker said they do not give out the pattern, but it was drawn. Then said the pieces were cut but did not give out that due to it being the pattern. They said we could see the mock up for the embroidered eye, which we saw last week. We havent seen any materials, or any proof its been done except a digital mock up. I also know they will not be in the country at the end of October. The update with the eyes said they would start the sewing a week after. Is it normal to not see the cloth colors at all? Is it normal not to show the cut pieces of cloth as a wip? He's getting worried because of the time frame, but Im more worried theyre going overseas. It was paid via SQUARE in person, and all communication is via telegram. (I went to get screenshots for my freckles, but the artist nuked the chat) I will have him save all communication tonight. The artist is local and was highly recommended.
  13. I will do edits that are my fault free of charge, assuming it's not like you ask me over and over, and it was on the ref. I will make paid edits if you're like "Whoops, I forgot to say can you add a collar'. Almost all artists will do this. You also phrased it more along the lines that you fully expect every artist to get things wrong. (At that point it may be a time for a new ref, an example is my partners ref doesnt show his tail right, and artists always get it wrong) A good example; Ref has collar, shorts, and 4 markings; artist draws shorts, and 3 markings; it's on them to fix, it absolutely should be fixed for free. If you come back after and go, oh yeah I added socks and a 5th marking, and you didnt include them; Your fault and the artist can absolutely refuse to add them, or charge you. Even fursuit artists will fix errors they make if its on them. Digital art is 100% owned by the creator in terms of copyright; you are paying for the service, not to own the image. (Unless its set up otherwise, which is not the case with commissions most of the time) When selling a suit, or a traditional image, you are selling the item, as well as the service. I would no longer own the suit, or the traditional piece, and you can burn it if you wanted to.
  14. I would immediately refuse to work with you for this alone. Bewares have been posted for people editing artists work in the past. (I remember one specifically about a client editing the black on their character to be darker) I dont give out ,psd's specifically because I dont work with many layers; I often have two. But also, as Celestina said, bad editing comes back on to the artist, which is why I have it a rule that anyone who colors my work must state they did the coloring.
  15. He is claiming the character is his " This is my character Maru, inspired by many different things." EDIT; http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32073074/ (nsfw, breathplay) This is of the OPs character as well.
  16. Their Facebook page links to this; https://www.missrarscreatures.co.uk/?fbclid=IwAR0nVYPBmZZ-o-kKcj6Msca6N7pp8CtG60L-Y51NW43X5fsTl3oYSsPzHvU Which links this twitter; https://twitter.com/Missrars (which was updated in june) And an instagram; https://www.instagram.com/missrars_/ It looks like they attended cons/are attending cons. You can always try and contact the cons and tell them the artist has run with your money. Cons dont like to allow dealers that scam in, and our cons actually encourage customers telling staff if sellers do this.
  17. I have never checked out a buyers age in the 10+ years Ive been doing art, and nothing has ever happened; if you're wary because of the way they type (generally kids dont type professionally), check their profile, or decline it. You need to be 18 for paypal anyways. I probably wouldnt purchase from anyone that specifically asked my DOB (and I absolutely wouldnt give my ID)
  18. I'd be wary about Amino due to the mass amount of minors on it. But also, I generally dont chat with people because every time I do, I get used for free art. Artists seem snobby or cold specifically because it happens to use regularly. Ive made friends with people though art trades, because it shows you're willing to work/pay to get their art, and arent after free stuff. Also, joining group chats on telegram/discord. If you're aiming to befriend a specific artist, I advise against it. Befriending someone just for their name/art isnt cool.
  19. I am not saying staff will be, I am saying that some people may accuse staff of doing so, and asking how that will be combated. Apologies if it came off that way. If I donated, I would want it to be 100% anonymous. I wouldnt want a thank you, or a badge of any sort, because I wouldnt want to be accused of being favoured. It would be a punch in the gut if an AB ended in my favour and then I got told it was only because I donated.
  20. The first. Although now that its mentioned, the second may be an issue as well.
  21. A repeat customer of mine who is up next on my queue offered to switch their spot in the queue with said customer. I will take extra care and save wips for proof if they attempt to claim I rushed it, as I do work fast. Thanks for the advice, but at this point the time wasted, fighting to refund them is more stressful than just doing the image. I will blacklist then after they approve the final image. I assume the entire thing was to be bumped. @xaila I have never had an issue where I could not match payment with a name before, it was just because the timestamps were all the same.
  22. I would not, but I do feel like the 'donors being protected thing would still be an issue. Would there be a way to combat this, if donations were added?
  23. There is, if its within the time frame! My paypal doesnt show anything on the details except names, so I need them to give me the name on their account. The commission purchased was via a batch and they are all the same amounts. I dont want to ask them which is theres, as I would have to give out peoples names. I confirm people pay, but I dont wrist down any details elsewhere for privacy reasons.
  24. I again asked for their email to refund, and they said they would wait. They wouldnt give their details for a refund. I will keep them in my queue for now, but I am worried they will 'put me on blast' once I complete the artwork. They gave me a week ultimatum with their original post. 'I'm willing to give you like... maybe a week? two if you legitimately have a good reason"
  25. I have fractured my drawing wrist and have posted updates to my customers all month. I have also beed extremely ill. One of my customers asks for updated and I reply every time about being ill/the wrist. I have been working through it the best I can, but I am delayed, obviously. But the customer has not come to me and has included overtones that they dont believe me, and is accusing me of taking on more work while not completing the old stuff. I have provided them all my WIPs, and my small amount of posts this month, but theyre rejecting proof from IRL sources about the illness and wrist (and the rejection of my health care). They dont want a refund, but are insisting on an ultimatum 'If I have a legit excuse', but wont accept the proof. I dont have their exact info to force a refund and they dont seem to want one. I have never been in a situation where the customer DOESNT want the refund but doesnt want to wait. What do I do?
