About Me

  1. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/898979.html WHO: kgosiarts / reverseinversefursuits WHERE: Kgosiarts @ FA (old account) Reverseinverse Fursuits @ FA (current account) Facebook page WHAT: Fursuit partial (faun legs) WHEN: Feb. 15 2015 to Nov. 3 2015 PROOF: Initial contact Agreement on details and payment Payment sent DTD is sent and arrives Issue with fur order Asking for an update Flood happens Contact stops Sent messages over FA (read, not replied) Contact on Facebook: One, two, three, four EXPLAIN: A long, long time ago… Back in Febuary of 2015, I was browsing through the forums of a boffer game I used to play in and came across a post made by Kgosi offering faun legs along with a special offer. I sent them an email expressing interest in the faun legs/special sale and had a couple questions about fursuit stuff because I had zero experience with fursuit stuff. Kgosi responded quickly, answered all my questions, and we agreed on a bi-color set of faun legs with resin hooves. Due to a small medical issue, Kgosi agreed to build the feet/hooves around a pair of boots I had and would install a hidden zipper in the back so I could easily take them on and off. I paid right away and sent out the DTD a couple days later. Kgosi lives about two to three hours from me, so the DTD arrived in no time at all. Progress on the legs apparently began only to hit a snag when the fur Kgosi bought over Etsy specifically for my faun legs was "destroyed in the mail." Kgosi was refunded, and progress resumed when they got new fur from somewhere else. I heard absolutely nothing from them until July of 2015 when I contacted them asking for an update. Kgosi responded, claiming a flood in their work area damaged the legs; however, the boots and DTD were in a tote at the time and thus survived, and they were already "half way done" the replacement set of legs which would be sent in about two weeks. Two weeks later, nothing. I sent Kgosi another email in August and received no reply. Eventually I made an account on FA and sent them a note that was read but never replied to. I sent another note later and once again, it was read and ignored. So I contacted them on Facebook and they finally replied, stating the legs had been sent in June. I showed them a screenshot of their email from July about the flood, and Kgosi replied saying they no longer had the emails so I forwarded the entire email thread. (Which is the blank email in the "Contact stops" screencap.) After some back and forth, they said they contacted their local post office and was told the package had been sent and was past reimbursement. So I asked for the tracking number and called my post office, and the helpful gentleman on the phone said the tracking number didn't exist. Remember how I said Kgosi lived about two to three hours away? I figured there was no way in hell a huge box going to a place a couple hours away would just vanish, and so I called the post office by Kgosi's known residence and was told the tracking number didn't work because it had "too many numbers." I sent Kgosi a final message on Facebook with this information and requested another tracking number, along with any evidence that these legs I bought actually once existed. The message was read and never responded to. During all the waiting, the fur mishap, the "flood", Kgosi was actively posting finished projects on their FA account. (Which lead me to believe I was being strung along the entire time because they post pictures of every piece of work they finish.) They originally had a Trello page with a list of their commissions and commission statuses, but it's been long since deleted. I do remember the list being pretty long, though. According to some messages left on their old FA account and their Facebook page, I'm not the only one who was waiting forever for work from them. I doubt I was the only one who paid to be scammed, either. I did try to contact Paypal like people suggested to do in my advice post, but I couldn't get through to an actual person and it was too late to get my money back at the time. More so now. I know this is all partially my fault as I let so much time pass between messages, updates, etc. and got snippy towards the end. I didn't ask for any WIP shots either. I had no idea how to handle a fursuit commission, but now I know better. Unfortunately, this experience has left me incredibly wary of fursuit makers.
  2. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/856511.html WHO: Eindraa, Iingo http://endraa.tumblr.com/ https://twitter.com/whitekens http://whitekens.weebly.com/ Where: http://iingo.deviantart.com/ What: Dec 2013 - Two Chibi Commissions May 2014 - Fullbody Commission When: December 2013 for the chibis and May 2014 for the fullbody. Proof: http://imgur.com/a/QsVKY Contains all the pertinent image files, but will be linking to singular ones in the post. Explain (This is a very long post, I apologize for that! There's a summary at the bottom): In November 2013, Iingo (then known as Eindraa) opened chibi commissions (http://i.imgur.com/9ts6BsT.png) to help with college tuition (http://i.imgur.com/JpKaptF.png). I purchased two chibi slots. (http://i.imgur.com/uvY0fMX.png) As can be seen, I also considered asking her to do some gijinkas of anthros (http://i.imgur.com/VER6i9n.png), but I decided not to do so in the end, and payment was discussed and sent. (http://i.imgur.com/72fN4vL.png) Months passed, Iingo was active on DA with large giveaways, interactive journals, features, and running groups. She also submitted art on a decently frequent enough basis, at least one piece a month, if not more. http://i.imgur.com/kuJMTCr.png http://i.imgur.com/wPGwSqP.png http://i.imgur.com/4DoWlTC.png http://i.imgur.com/LG4kuk7.png http://i.imgur.com/hN4BiCh.png http://i.imgur.com/xgmobjq.png In February of 2014 or so, she sent me a note asking for a new reference image of one of my characters for the chibi, as the dropbox link no longer worked. Nearly three months passed by before I replied, going by what I can find in my notes, and I am definitely to blame for the lengthiness in that situation. I replied in May 2014 with an updated link, and also asked for a fullbody commission, (http://i.imgur.com/Pgi170z.png) as I noticed she had opened some slots for them up(http://i.imgur.com/6aSuak5.png). She replied about two weeks later and I paid quickly after. (http://i.imgur.com/sLfKjk9.png) This would be the last contact for half a year. My name was never put down in the fullbody list. She continued being active during this period of time with more journals and artworks. http://i.imgur.com/hRm7jIc.png http://i.imgur.com/eVRJ9Bg.png http://i.imgur.com/ReLnE5I.png http://i.imgur.com/Z4LKTiY.png http://i.imgur.com/EdMxKi7.png (A commission was posted around a month later.) http://i.imgur.com/1L0sSsp.png http://i.imgur.com/qprg5bZ.png (Again, no contact made to me, and the only one from this list she finished a commission in decent time was Choubidubinette's, of which she owed two chibis to the customer it appears and would finish the last one months later) http://i.imgur.com/QPAUIuH.png (Was not done with commissions.) [Read More] To summarize: -I purchased 2 chibi commissions in December 2013 and a fullbody in May 2014. -She has never contacted me on her own (as in, not having a deadline enforced, angry customer, etc, of her own volition), except once in February 2014 to request I send her an updated character reference which I took nearly three months to reply to and apologize. -She has been fairly active this entire timespan with both art and journals and DA activity, only beginning to slow down somewhat in the beginning of 2015. -Took down her to-do list twice, and current one is incomplete. -Did not answer most of my notes asking for updates until I tried to enforce a deadline in February 2015. -She broke her deadlines twice. Claimed she would finish by the end of February or March. She did not, and when I contacted her again at the end of March, she promised two would be done in a week, something that proved to be inaccurate. -Does not listen to my concerns. Asked twice to be notified before working on the fullbody, that did not happen. I listed examples of the styles I wanted, no response was given and the finished chibis are in a wholly different style. -This does not truly pertain to me, but I have reason to believe she is ignoring others as well. Also, in late 2014, she said she would be nearly done with Tirekins' commission, but it would take her many months before she was actually done. The same occurred for Choubidoubinette's commissions and many others. Thank you for your time everyone. Updated 8/2/15: The situation has progressed some more since then. (http://i.imgur.com/xrpfLrX.png)(http://i.imgur.com/OQVvUPR.png) I ended up not replying to this note, it was clear we were in a disagreement over the situation and would not be able to reach a middle ground. I point out that it was actually three months and not four, and that she continued her lack of communication and updates throughout that process and the month-long reply was as earlier mentioned in this post, due to stress experienced from discussing the matter with her. In any case, this was my reply two weeks later, where I asked why she broke a deadline yet again: (http://i.imgur.com/1KK6les.png) Iingo replied: (http://i.imgur.com/lb217Wa.png) I sent a note back essentially thanking her for the reply. She finished the fullbody commission the next day! (http://i.imgur.com/ZF6umLQ.png) (http://i.imgur.com/QT4MjBT.png) I replied that I liked the one with the background: (http://i.imgur.com/xOetHO0.png) A few minutes later, Iingo posted the fullbody commission to her gallery: (http://i.imgur.com/pM60k4o.png) / http://iingo.deviantart.com/art/Full-Body-Commission-for-Vespisia-545980631 Again, this is the commission sample when I purchased a fullbody commission from her: (http://i.imgur.com/H7atwRi.png) I know styles change, especially with how long this situation has taken, but the two look different in not just style, but quality. To make sure I was not biased, I showed the pieces to others for comparison, and they agreed and noted that it looked like they were made by two different artists and I should ask for a partial refund. Which I did, I finally replied to her last night, having been silent from the hurt of receiving what to me, seemed like a subpar commission after she noted me the piece, which was unprofessional of me to do so. Here is the note I sent her last night at last: (http://i.imgur.com/VJi4utd.png) I thanked her for the piece and asked for a partial refund. Iingo would reply a few hours later with three notes: (http://i.imgur.com/SJedypc.png) (http://i.imgur.com/4qhW1h3.png) (http://i.imgur.com/6UVoOCW.png) I do not intend to reply to her notes. Again, no agreement can be made between us so there is no point. I am updating this beware to let everyone know what has progressed in the situation and I suppose it is resolved, somewhat. Because I got my commissions at last and partial refunds. However, my intention was really to warn people of her work ethic and behavior and in that regard, it is not resolved. Again, thank you for your time everyone.
  3. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/830804.html WHO: Thug on FA / Monsterites on tumblr / Monsterite on dA WHERE: I commissioned them on their FA account [ Thug ] but they seem to have abandoned it. They have accounts on dA ( Monsterite ) and on tumblr ( monsterites ) and weasyl ( thug ) WHAT: Digital bust of my character, 20 usd in value, to be completed in 2-5 weeks or so. WHEN: I commissioned them on 10th of October, and paid on the same date. I've not received any contact from them since 19th of November 2014 despite my attempts at contacting them and posts on tumblr stating they would be getting in touch with customers. Proof and explanation under cut. PROOF: Commission journal on FA: http://s20.postimg.org/xle6h2w3h/ab_2.png My note to them/them accepting my commission: http://s20.postimg.org/mxafi8m4d/ab_3.png Proof of payment: http://s20.postimg.org/gobbjfke5/ab_1.png Unread note on FA: http://s20.postimg.org/yi6tkq3gd/ab_4.png EXPLAIN: I commissioned thug on 10th of October for a bust; initially everything went well. The original turnaround time stated on the journal [x] was about weeks, but "may be as long as a month." I paid and began waiting. After a month I had not heard anything from them, not even a "this will take longer than expected", so I shoot them a pm: http://s20.postimg.org/jq23tdxj1/ab_7.png The note got read but I received no reply, so I sent them another PM a week later: http://s20.postimg.org/atrbpg6wt/ab_6.png This time they replied and told me they had a chaotic time real life, and told me they had a sketch for me and could work a stream. I declined this offer, because I too have a spotty schedule and from my understanding we also live on different time zones. They did not offer to show me the sketch and I didn't have the sense to ask it as I was under impression they'd already started and could finish it on a timely schedule, so this is my bad and I have no proof they have even started my artwork. On December 3rd I sent them another note where I simply asked if they could e-mail me instead of using notes on FA. This note is still unread and they have no recent activity on FA, leading me to believe they have abandoned the account. They gave me no other means of communication. Towards the mid/end of December I decided I would try and find the artist on other sites just to see if they were alright. I went to their tumblr and decided to see if they have finished and posted my artwork on tumblr and just forgotten to tell me (it would not be the first time this has happened to me) and found out they had posted this [x] promising to contact/refund everyone if they had not finished art by the 1st of Jan. Satisfied with this I decided to just wait. I received no contact from then on 1st of Jan, but decided to wait some time before contacting them, just in case. February came and I became a bit anxious over the fact they had not contacted me despite these several [x] post [x] on tumblr. I sent them an ask on tumblr [I have no proof of this as tumblr message system is really bad 😞 ] A few days later they had had activity on the site and I had received no reply or contact from them. I sent them a new ask, and also decided to go and check my PayPal receipt, and found their e-mail addresses. I sent them this e-mail to both of their addresses. It's been a month since and I have yet to receive a reply. I've sent one more ask to their tumblr, which has not been answered. I have no idea how to contact them -- I don't want to pressure them too much, but not receiving any kind of communication from them when they have repeatedly promised to contact customers is making me think they have forgotten about me, and even if they have not received any of my messages they still have my FA they could use to contact me. From what I understand their rl if pretty hectic at times, but I don't feel like this excuses the complete lack of communication. At this point I'd rather have a refund than the art, but if they have started the art already and would just contact me I would gladly take the art too. I had not problems waiting, but I do have problems with the utter lack of personal communication, posting on tumblr (which I don't follow) instead of directly contacting me and promising to contact people and then not contacting me. I have not been able to contact this artist for several months despite them being active, and since accepting commission I've only received one message from them. EDIT: Shortly after this post went live, the artist has contacted me and issued me a refund! The matter is now resolved.
  4. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/929598.html WHO: Worms & Bones WHERE: Homepage: http://www.wormsandbones.com/ Deviantart: http://wormsandbones.deviantart.com/ WHAT: $600 CAD for a one-of-a-kind art doll based on a werewolf character of mine. WHEN: So arrangements for this commission first started back around late September, 2014, but confirmation happened in November 2015. Details were exchanged from February-March 2015. I paid in two installments. The first installment was March 10, 2015. References were provided on March 21. The second installment was paid on April 8, 2015. Provided below are screen shots of all the email exchanges we've had. What's important to note here is that I've had to email them sometimes two or three times in order to get a response, though to their credit they did always eventually respond. I sent the emails a week, sometimes two weeks, apart (in between months of waiting) as I was trying not to be worrisome. But conversely, I was becoming worried about the lack of communication. The first email I sent asking for an update was on June 3, 2015 with a followup on the 10th. I sent another inquiry on August 15, followed by another follow up on the 29th. I received a reply the following day. This pattern continues for some time, with me checking in every two to three or four months. I was unclear as to how long a commission was actually going to take as no where in their TOS does it state that they can take a year or longer to complete and at no point in the email exchange did they offer an ETA. I eventually became too anxious at their lack of communication and finally sent an email stating as such on December 7th basically expressing this anxiety and the concern over how long it was taking as I had received my previous customs from them in 2-5 months. I assumed that a commission to take maybe 8-9 in between customs and whatever else, especially since Worms & Bones have previously provided great customer care and a superior product. As requested, they did provide me with a rundown on events that was happening/had happened over the past few months to explain why it was taking so long. Up to this point I had only received one WIP (on Sept 1). I received a second Dec. 7, which was included in the response email I got after my inquiry about the length of time it was taking. Needless to say, communication hasn't really improved. It's still taking a week or more for them to respond to my emails. I've received only 3 WIPs emails. I last requested on update on Sept. 13 as well as a possible ETA. Their response was pretty much the same as their last update - still waiting on their caster and were going fur shopping since they didn't have the right kind. It is now Oct. 11 and I haven't heard anything else. Although I just recently noticed they have put up a warning in the Contact section of their website that they maybe slow to respond. So at least they tell you that now. PROOF: November 30-December 1, 2014 - First discussion of taking on the commission. Feb. 27, 2015 - Worms & Bones confirms that they can take on the commission. March 21 - More Details Exchanged. This screenshot also shows me confirming that I paid the invoice. March 10 - First installment paid. March 21 - Details Finalized. April 8 - They sent me the 2nd Invoice. April 8 - Final installment paid. June 3 and June 12- First inquiry emails sent. This screenshot shows their response on the 12. Aug 15, 29, 30 - Second inquiry email sent. This screenshot shows the exchange for that month. Sept. 1 - First WIP. They emailed ME this time. I was sure things were going to be moving forward finally but two months later... November 23 - 3rd Inquiry. Dec. 7th - 3rd Inquiry follow up. This shows the exchange between the two of us during that time. I should point out that their responses are professional and friendly, and they do acknowledge that their commissions take a long time to complete (like, over-a-year-long, I suppose) - information I really wish I had known beforehand. They also provided a 2nd WIP. Dec. 7th - My response to that last email (Couldn't fit all of it on the same screenshot.) Feb 10, 17 2016 - 4th inquiry sent about a detail on the WIPs. So far, so good with their response here. I was pleased that they just responded even if they didn't have a WIP to show me. April 23rd, May 5 - 5th inquiry. This screenshot shows the exchange from that time period. Also 3rd and last visual WIP. July 17, 20 - 6th inquiry and their response. Sept. 13, 19 2016 - Asked for another update and a possible ETA, but no mention of it in their response. I have yet to hear anything about more about the furs and today is Oct. 11. EXPLAIN: I really hesitated to post this beware because Worms & Bones have never been rude to me and do eventually reply to my emails, but their basic customer service could use some improvement. This Beware is mostly in regards to that. So, perhaps it was the fact that I received their customs pretty quickly, and that the previous transactions had been pretty straight forward and the exchange pretty quick. And perhaps that I had mentioned in at least two earlier emails that I would "wait forever" (though I seriously didn't think I'd be waiting for over a year for it). And maybe it feels like I've been waiting longer than I have because details were first set in 2014. I tend to wait a week or more before sending followup emails because I'm aware that people have lives and they apparently make customs for a living. Which brings me to the other part of my complaint; in between all these emails, with very little WIPs to show on my $600 commission, they've produced many more customs for other customers as well as literal armfuls of customs for sale at conventions and at least three personal projects. All of which you can see on their tumblr. Let me just say here that I am NOT upset that they've got personal projects but it's just that on top of all the other work they've done for other customers - even potential customers that haven't even paid them money yet - and I haven't even seen what my werewolf's feet look like with the dew claws attached and it's been over a year. I also don't think I should feel awful every time I send off an email asking them for an update. I feel like I'm harassing them every time I do. Furthermore, there is no mention on their website at how long commissions can take. The only thing it is mentioned is that they seldom accept commissions but no reason as to why. Which I guess isn't important, usually, but if it's a super long wait time, then I think it should be mentioned. So whether or not I receive my doll any time soon, I still think people should be aware of how long it will take to receive their product. At least they do now have a notice in their Contact Me section of their website stating that they are slow to respond to emails. They did not have this notice when I first commissioned them and I'm not sure when it appeared. I also want to point out that, and I'm sure it's easy to see in the screen shots, that they have been nothing but polite when we have communicated and I genuinely believe that they aren't doing this on purpose. I suppose this Beware is more a warning about the lack of information these artists provide regarding the process of their services, at least in regards to commissions. So if you get a custom from them, you probably don't have to worry about this happening to you, but beware if you ever manage to score a commission. Considering it's been almost a month since they went fur shopping, I'm really starting to doubt I'm going to get what I paid for. UPDATE: Worms and Bones has finished the commission, and although I have not received it physically yet, given their previous track record of successfully shipping out items, I have no doubts I will get it eventually. I deem this resolved! UPDATE: I have Autumn firmly in hand. As usual the quality is wonderful and it's very satisfying to finally have it here. As mentioned above, Worms & Bones are overall pretty good to work with. It's mostly just their communication skills that could use some improvement. And be prepared for a long wait - especially if you're commissioning them!
  5. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/872392.html WHO: Apocalypse ReFurred, Thysyrael WHERE: Facebook Apocalypse ReFurred page and via messages WHAT: A pair of resin/ polymorph pastic clawed hand paws and feet paws with promise of quick turn around by April 4th. WHEN: March 18th 2015. – Commission placed. March 22nd – Fur I supplied arrived at maker’s address. March 24th – Commission paid for in full. April 3rd – Photo of hand paws WIP received, April 4th – Original deadline. April 16th – Photo received of feet paws in ductape wrap, ready for furring. ( Several different life problems occurred for the artist, such as pet passing, theft etc. throughout the months. I can try to give specific dates for these if required) 6th September – After no updates, I ask again for one or for a partial refund and what’s been made to be sent to me so I can complete myself or resell. 7th September – Refunded and items sent to me 11th September – Items recieved PROOF: ( Me in purple, her in green) Facebook messages part 1 Facebook messages part 2 Paypal receipt Message mentioning the polymorph plastic I missed Items themselves; Overall paw shape ( My ref for character, notice the paws are more lizard or simian shaped) Animal hair 1, 2, 3 Unglued edges Hand paws Claws They look like Fimo to me EXPLAIN: Back in March, I was preparing for a convention on April 4th when I found that my fursuit feet and paws where in very rough condition from general use. I asked about on the UK Furry Facebook groups for a maker or someone seller paws and a maker came forward. I looked at their stuff and while they weren’t high end makers, their paws looked fine and they offered to complete it within the admittedly tight deadline. I already had some fur left over from when I tried to make the fursuit and we agreed for a lower price ( £80) if I sent this fur over. A day before the deadline ( April 4th ) I received a phone photo of the hand paws. They looked a little rough, but I assumed it was just the camera quality. I later received a photo of ductape covered feet paws. They looks a little odd and I asked if the tape was pulling the toes apart, giving them a wider look. She assured me they were fine so I continued with the commission a little apprehensive. Then a myriad of personal and family problems for the maker reared up, from a pet passing away, to a parent being very ill and then robbery. There were also problems with the dye not adhering to the resin claws that I’d asked for. She said she would contact the maker and complain. Every so often, I’d ask for updates and get told that there was a problem and she couldn’t send photos. After the April 4th deadline, I’d hoped that the paws would be ready for Confuzzled in May. No such luck, I ended up going suitless which was kinda sad. 7 months later, I was promised an update within 2 weeks. No update came and I was fed up. I asked for a partial refund ( as some of the commission was complete) and for what was made to be sent to me. She agreed and the £5 refund along with the unattached claws and paws where sent to me. The paws arrived quickly but in very poor condition, which I’ll detail in sections; Feet Paws – They are way too wide and off model, looking more like duck feet. There is glue blobs, holes between the fur and the sole, but the worse thing is the smell. They stink badly of dog so much that it’s as if the animal has sat on the foam or fur. I reported this to the maker ( as some of my family suffer from allergies), she explained that the fur and foam was kept away from the animals and the only way they’d smell is if she’d passed it on from petting the animals. However, there is white and brown animal fur on the paws as well as general fluff. This hair cannot be from when I supplied the fur as we have no pets. Hand Paws – very roughly made, though they are incomplete, they too are smelly. They also fit ill. Claws– These are not polymorph plastic, but instead hand sculpted Fimo clay and have finger prints and dirt in the clay. I googled the plastic, which appears to be a shiney, usually white product similar to glue gun glue. In the end, I am very disappointed. I don’t think I can even sell these items without thorough repair and cleaning. She seems to be a young maker and as such, isn’t very professional yet. Edit: Update 2/10/2015 I contacted the maker a couple of days ago about the animal fur with pictures. I asked her again if the animal had been in contact with the paws and she said the fur ( which is clearly animal with colouring and tapering... plus, y know, the stink!) was faux fur from another suit she was making.

All I would like to do is get in touch with her and get what I paid for or to have her reimburse me as 60 dollars is a lot of money to me and I could put it elsewhere or towards another artist who actually wants to do the artwork I‘d asked for. Now: On October 15th, 2012 I decided to get myself and my boyfriend at the time a set of icons from her as a gift, I have a screen cap of how that went above. I’m keeping anyone who is not me or Cashoo anonymous as I am the person with the problem here, and not the others involved so the grey text is only usernames/references that are not mine. Just so we’re clear. As you can read for yourself from the links, She seemed a little hesitant but told me that the wait would be a few months as she had a pretty big queue and so forth. I didn't mind waiting as I’d purchased another set of icons during the duration of the time, and as an artist myself I understand how art takes time and artists are not robots etc. I contacted her again on October 25th because the person I had originally wanted the icons with and I had split ways and after communicating with him I switched the person I wanted to get the icons with and she okayed it with me. Told me she had not started them yet which did not really surprise me as she’d mentioned prior until November she would be pretty busy. So I was okay with that response, and didn't contact her back until November 12th. I hadn't thought about when she told me she’d start them and had forgotten she had family plans. Again just being friendly and curious about them I shot her another note. I can’t unfortunately find the message she responded to me about but it was something along the lines of “Sorry I haven’t started them yet, my family is down…” It was all good, and I told her to have a good time with the family and again not to rush. I then contacted her in December as I was curious why she hadn't gotten a sketch to me, but figured it was Life issues. Told her I wouldn't mind seeing a sketch before she completed a final product as I was curious if she had made any progress on the icons. She in this time started to just entirely not read or ignore my notes, and I have not been able to anchor her down for a response since then. She did however -read- this note, so there is that. My last note I left on February 23rd 2013. I actually noted her on deviantART account prior to FurAffinity (i copied and pasted the message directly from the note i sent on deviantART) but she didn't respond to either or read the note on FurAffinity (I have no idea if you can check who reads what on deviantART as I don't use it aside from a place holder.) I’m not making this to get people mad towards Pirate-Cashoo, but I will say that I'm severely disappointed in her business management skills and as an artist who does this as a full time job I don’t understand her complete avoidance or lack of a schedule. I love her artwork but I feel like I need to warn others about her business practices, I'm very disappointed. I wanted to let you guys know that if I were you to watch out and maybe hold off on getting art from her. She's a friendly artist to communicate with but I'm kind of tired of lack of updates/getting a bunch of excuses from her. I hope that she reads this and gets at the very least in touch with me so either discuss a refund or give me a concise deadline. ~Lorena.
  7. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/987533.html WHO: Adiago/Zero/Damien WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/adiago WHAT: Digital art WHEN: Paid for on December 17th, 2017 - current (No work completed on the piece at the time of writing this.) Explain: On December 17th, 2017, I purchased a piece of art from Adiago over voice in her Discord. The piece was supposed to be four other characters and myself. While I don't know how much the other people paid, I paid a lump sum of $195, which I know was the most out of the group. The money was for all of our characters to be in a Chinese New Years themed, cell shaded commission. Between purchasing my slot and writing this post, I have been blocked from all forms of communication by Adiago, and no WIPs or any updates have been given to me by her or any of her trusted contacts. The commission was added to her "To Do List" on February 1st, 2018. This is the only progress that has been made on it thus far. The date of writing this is March 14th, 2018. (Pictures below) A friend of mine went out of his way to contact Adiago directly, and the response I received in her Picarto stream was "tell Kat if he does a chargeback ill post him to artists beware. where thousands of people will see it." When someone in stream asked what this was about, she responded "someones trying to be a D-bag and if they do it ill ruin them and no one will ever draw for them again". These were posted publicly for all in her stream to see. (Pictures below) This is the first time I have ever decided to go through a charge back. I would have liked to work things out with the artist, but at this time the artist is refusing to speak with me. I have no way of contacting them myself, and at this point I just want to post this and be done with it. I am currently in the process of trying to get my money back, and writing this due to it being a bad experience. From my understanding, this is not the first time something like this has been written about the artist. I paid for work, the work was never finished, and now I want my money back. That's the short of it. Please note, all commission details were worked out in voice in Discord. Adiago and I had a good business relationship, and this is how most of our transactions took place. The only details of the commission are shown below in her "To Do List". EDIT: At this point, the chargeback has been completed, and Adiago has pushed this issue from a professional conflict to a personal one. Please see below for all the details. https://imgur.com/a/e5QDD This is to show that this is the only commission still sitting in her to do list. The artist is currently working on personal work in her stream. (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/UNQeR This picture shows that the commission was put on her "To Do List" on February 1st, 2018. You can see the date in the lower right hand corner says 3/14/2018. This commission is still in her "To Do List" at the time of writing this. (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/NTIT4 https://imgur.com/a/oVLG5 https://imgur.com/a/zLulv https://imgur.com/a/LkUor These links are to show that I am currently blocked from communicating with Adiago. I am currently blocked on her FurAffinity, both her twitters, and Telegram. While wanting to keep this strictly professional, I decided not to censor the Telegram link (Besides the names of both my boyfriend and another friend of mine for privacy reasons), because I would like people to understand how I was treated as not only a loyal follower, but a returning commissioner as well. (Links above) https://imgur.com/a/mFNYM This is the receipt for the Paypal transaction. This is to confirm that I did purchase this commission on December 17th, 2017. (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/t3pa1 This is her stating publicly in her stream what she intends to do with me charging back. Please look at the quotes "tell Kat if he does a chargeback ill post him to artists beware. where thousands of people will see it." and "someones trying to be a D-bag and if they do it ill ruin them and no one will ever draw for them again". (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/VPeJF This is Adiago's Terms of Service. As it states; "If at any point in the commission process I either find you intolerable or the commission is giving me a large amount of trouble, I will either offer or do a force refund. The final refund amount will be (Total amount-Work completed= Refund). Full refunds only given if I have not started and the commissioner is being problematic." In this situation, Adiago had not started my commission at this point, and had me blocked on all her places of contact. I can only assume at this point I am being found intolerable, and am entitled by her ToS to a full refund. (Linked above) https://imgur.com/a/f4tg0 This is confirmation that the issue was resolved. I was originally going to let this conflict end here, since the claim has already been settled, but Adiago has escalated the issue even further past this point, and has taken the issue from a professional conflict to a personal one. (Linked above is the claim outcome) https://imgur.com/a/0l0g9 This is the image a friend of mine sent me. The time this was sent was 12:41AM on 3/18/2018. I didn't cross out my main account to show that it is in fact me she is targeting, and that I am not going on a witch hunt. This was posted after Paypal had come to a decision on the claim, and marked the issue as "resolved". https://imgur.com/a/uJPi0 This is extra proof to show that I am indeed a returning customer to Adiago. I have purchased more in the past, but throughout 2017 alone I had sent Adiago a total of $555, not including the $195 chargeback. This also shows that this is the only refund I have had to request from Paypal against this artist. As stated above, I originally wasn't even going to make this post, even with the way she was treating me. The Paypal claim was resolved, and I would have liked to wash my hands of it. Adiago has taken this issue out of the realm of professionalism and made it into something personal. I would like to make the community aware of this unprofessional behavior, and ask to please take caution when considering purchasing art from Adiago. This is the first issue I have ever had with the artist when it comes to buying art, but the situation has quickly escalated into something I would like to be no part of. Thank you for reading, and please be careful! If she is willing to treat returning commissioners like this, then there is no way to know how she will treat new commissioner too! Beware!
  8. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/939896.html Who: Vani / VanillaKitsune / @ashketchumsays / stripesandteeth Where: Twitter When: Commissioned them June 15th, 2016 I commissioned Vani on their Twitter back in June when they were taking a lot of sketch commissions there. I bought two sketches and received initial passes pretty quickly, but since then it’s been very difficult to get in contact with them much less get an update. Break down of events and screen caps below cut. All screen caps are in the Dropbox folder below, and are numbered to be chronological, except for the proof of payment which is the first document. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gnsxt1by8i2dmvk/AAAON_cgjDhnjltT0I8dFCHma?dl=0 June: -6/15/16: I DMed Vani on Twitter like their post said to do, and gave them references and paid promptly. I paid for two 11x14 sketch with shipping, but was later asked to pay for shipping again. -6/26/16: I received preliminary sketches that were very rough and I approved them. I was excited to see progress so soon and was told they’d be finished promptly. -6/29/16: A few days later I received a long DM from Vani saying that they would be attending AX and couldn’t finish the sketches before then. As an artist that sells at cons, I understood and told them not to worry. Afterwards I didn’t hear anything until August. August: -8/14/16: I DMed Vani to check in and ask how the sketches were going and again received a long DM, explaining that things were rough but on an upswing. I trusted they’d work on commissions when they were able and left them to it until November when I saw they were going to MFF. November: -11/28/16: I DMed Vani again after I saw they were going to MFF and tabling there as well. I asked if I could pick up my sketches at the con and they said they would have them ready for me. I ended up not being able to get away from my table the entire weekend and messaged them when I got home. December: -12/5/16: I DMed Vani again apologizing that I couldn’t get to their table to pick up my sketches. At this point, I have not seen the finished sketches and have no reason to believe that the sketches have actually been completed and would have even been available for pickup. Vani tells me they can mail my sketches, and asked me to send $6. I promptly paid, completely forgetting that I had already paid for shipping initially. -12/30/16: Vani posts a 10 page google document explaining their year and the struggles they’ve been through. I read the whole thing, and only gathered that they were stressed from taking too many commissions in between moving a lot and having financial struggles. They clearly state that they can’t deal with the stress of being contacted by customers, which admittedly upset me. January: -1/7/17: At this point unaware of their post, I DM Vani one last time asking if they had mailed the sketches. I didn’t receive a response, so I publicly tweeted at them. -1/11/17: I tweeted asking if they had shipped the sketches, received a reply from a random third party directing me to the 10 page manifesto. After reading the whole thing I e-mailed Vani like they requested and tried to pick up where we left off on Twitter. -1/25/17: No response to my e-mail, so I send another asking if they had received it. At this point I am not expecting a reply. Speaking as an artist, I have been through similar situations that Vani has gone through. I’ve been in very tight spots financially and been forced to move and scramble to find housing. I honestly don’t mind waiting for artwork so long as the artist is able to clearly communicate delays and issues just as I would with my customers. Vani very clearly can’t handle custom work but continues to take more and put themselves into this situation. They are now putting the blame of their anxieties and shortcomings on their customers who are simply asking when they can expect their artwork. I’m incredibly disappointed and honestly even if I were to receive a refund or the finished artwork I couldn’t in good conscience recommend anyone work with Vani.

I covered the full cost of refunds in art myself, leaving me out of pocket for their half - $115USD for four commissions (3 at a full price of $50 and one at $30). A 5th commission with a mutual friend was also refunded for my half. Difficulties trying to get their half of the refunds back from them throughout last year follow. WHEN: Aschenblute and I originally posted the commission journals on our furaffinity accounts on March 31st 2015. Asked if I should refund clients on 22nd November 2015. When this started, Asche was a good friend and roommate. Despite them having a backlog of commissions already, we decided to do collab commissions through a forum we were both members of at the time. The tasks we enjoyed corresponded well - I liked sketching and colouring; they liked lining and shading. We completed the first lot in addition to two adoptables without issue, except for one client who wasn’t sure about subject matter and was to get back to us. Since the first batch went well, we opened a second lot through FurAffinity and filled up the slots as of March 31st 2015. (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6621441/) I completed the sketches for all the pieces within a couple of weeks and had sent them all to Asche for lining. We split up the money as it came in 50/50. Half a year later, my Canadian Visa ran out and I had to move back to Australia. Without going into too much detail, my relationship with Asche also became rocky. In November 2015, due to the length of time since we’d taken the commissions (8 months) and the state of our personal relationship, I asked about giving refunds for the collab commissions since no progress had been made since my sketches. Asche approved the refund idea but didn’t help with any of the organization, and as far as I’m aware never contacted anyone themselves. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/tdcrriy5mmx1142/artistsbeware1.png?dl=0) I responded but didn't hear from them beyond this. Worried about my own reputation, I went ahead and contacted the commissioners. I apologized and offered to cover everything myself in full. I sent the sketches and asked each client if they'd prefer a monetary refund or art by me of the same value they'd paid originally (reminder: I only saw half that money in the first place). Everyone except a mutual friend (who I refunded with my half, and they were to talk to Asche about the rest) said they'd prefer art. These were all completed within a few weeks, and I'm very appreciative to all the commissioners and the positive feedback they gave despite the wait. Also during this contact, one commissioner told me they had previously attempted to contact Asche about this and other commissions Asche owed them. I had never been informed of this by Asche. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/eprp8mlkq7oepgr/artistsbeware8.png?dl=0) A couple of months after everything was done (31st January 2016), I sent Asche an email listing what they owed me for covering their half of the refunds (in USD), as well as money owed for some unrelated costs (in CAD, raised here only in regards to layout of payment schedules and methods Asche used to contact me). They hadn’t done any work on the commissions but were still paid half for them. I was surprised when they actually responded. They apologised for dumping all of it on me, said they wanted to be friends, and that they would pay me back but couldn't immediately as they didn't have a job. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/2fv6nh9qfob8ye4/artistsbeware2.png?dl=0) I replied saying ok, that I'd give them a couple of months to pay it. In the following months we became friends again, and they got a new job, but I didn't ask after the money as I knew they were moving. Asche brought it up once in a brief apology and followed by saying they should sort out refunds for other commissions taken 1-2 years prior. A couple of months after getting their job/moving, my contact with Asche became very limited and strained again. In July, communication was cut, and I sent an email asking for the money. They didn't respond. Over the next couple of months I sent more emails with no response until I told them that if I didn't receive a response in a week I would be posting here on AB. They sent me a partial payment for the unrelated costs through paypal on August 21st 2016 with a brief note in the payment details saying that they would be paying in intervals every 2 weeks. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/hk3shcpp9ja87at/artistsbeware3.png?dl=0 + https://www.dropbox.com/s/shvar7fscdljdvd/artistsbeware4.png?dl=0) When 4 weeks had passed since this with no further payment or contact, I sent an email asking for an update (21st Sep 2016). No reply. I sent another email a week later, and finally received an email telling me money was tight (27th Oct 2016). I requested dates for when I would be paid back. They said the remainder of the money for the unrelated costs would be settled by the end of 2016, with the full amount of their commission refund costs by the end of February 2017 (since the money for refunds is to be in USD, the currency the commissions were originally taken in, “because of the conversion rates” they would take longer). They also confirmed they would update me if this changed. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/y7pihv5r2561v40/artistsbeware5.png?dl=0) They sent another partial payment for the unrelated costs on Nov 12 with no further communication attached. As per the second schedule they set out, the unrelated payments should currently be complete and so the payments for the art refunds started - by the first schedule the commission refunds should be long paid for. But I've received no payments or contact since, and payment for the commission refunds has yet to start a year after Asche was give the final figure. My last attempted contact was asking for an update on Jan 13th 2017, with nothing back.
  10. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/994679.html Name: BigBlueDragon Location: This took place during Furrydelphia 2017 Website: http://www.bigblueraptor.com/2017/08/04/furrydelphia/ Commission Type: My commission was a digital headshot led badge of my fursona. Basic Overview: I commissioned BigBlueDragon on August 19th 2017 at Furrydelphia in the Dealers Den. The commission was of an led headshot badge of my fursona and the expected date to be finished was September 4th. My badge was fully completed February 18th 2018, and the last date of contact I had with BigBlueDragon was on March 11th 2018. (Hence this post) The Detailed Answer: August 19th 2017: Commissioned the artist in the dealers den at Furrydelphia and paid $21.20 in cash, upfront. Was informed that the commission wouldn’t take long to finish, and I requested a finish date for September 4th. I was informed that the artist worked from Artnab.net and that all updates and communication could easily be done through that website. Pictures of my fursona were taken from my badge before I left the table. August 21st 2017: Furrydelphia ended and I uploaded a brief description of my fursona as well as corresponding images on Artnab. August 30th 2017: Posted my name and address through Artnab. September 16th 2017: BigBlueDragon responds and has a sketch of my sona after the requested due date of my commission, communication becomes fairly consistent through the month of September and October and then becomes spotty in November. December 2nd, 2017: I reach out to BigBlueDragon using the email provided through Artnab and communication slows down but is still consistent. Progress on the commission continues through email due to difficulties through Artnab. By the middle of January the digital headshot has been finished. February 1st 2018: I reached back out to see the progress on my commission and received an email on the 18th with an image of my completed commission, printed, cut, laminated, and led, all done. I ask when to expect her within the mail, and I receive no response. March 3rd 2018: I email BigBlueDragon about an update about my badge being mailed. I receive a response on March 11th asking for my address again. I respond with my name and address hoping for my badge to arrive in the mail in about a week. March 26th 2018: I reach out again to BigBlueDragon about my badge and express my concern as the badge has been completed, and yet hasn’t been mailed out. At this point in time it has taken over 7 months to complete. April 26th 2018: I sent out another email to BigBlueDragon asking about an update on my badge being sent out. I have yet to receive a response. It has been 8 months and 3 weeks since this badge was commissioned, and it has been 8 weeks since I last had contact with BigBlueDragon. I have even tried to reach out through the website which they and their partner co-run, and haven’t gotten a response to that either. I believe my timeline and images provide a good chunk of information about the main problem, communication issues. In the beginning things were great through Artnab, I was posting stuff, I could see that they were looking at my posts and responding to it. I believe the issue in communication started when my references for my fursona seemed to be overlooked. The process dramatically slowed down as I had to point out issues one at a time and work them out until it met my approval. Once Artnab was giving us trouble, we switched over to email where our communication became slowed down further to hearing from BigBlueDragon after a few weeks at a time. Currently, the main source of frustration is that my badge has been completed, and I have yet to receive it. Nov 3rd: Third time asking about the state of the commission (Artist did not respond). Nov 16th: Forth time asking about the state of the commission (Artist did respond, saying he "will dig it up today"). Nov 24th: Fifth time asking about the state of the commission and first time seeing a sketch. The sketch was not what I asked for, artist knew about it. Nov 25th: I complain about his inability to work with me properly and demand him to finally start working with me constuctively, or to refund me by the 10th of December. Nov 26th: His reponse: "Ok we'll eat shit and take a refund on the 10th you pompous fuck." He just kept insulting me, while I tried to work constructively with him. Nov 27th: He finally explains himself, yet keeps being insulting and blocks me. No further contact from then on. Dec 11th: Yesterday was the last day I demanded him to refund me. It didn't happen. Money is officially stolen by this date. EXPLAIN: On the 19th of July I decided to commission Grey_Scarborough for an adult piece of art. He was quick to respond, we exchanged details about the commission and I paid him the next day. He claimed it would take him 2 weeks to finish the piece. I am "free to request a WIP whenever" and contact him at any of his messengers. Sounds good to me. I didn't hear anything of him for 4 weeks, so I sent him a note on the 18th of August, asking if he forgot about me. Again, he was quick to respond, told me he was busy moving, admitted he was behind schedule. No problem to me. I responded with some kind of smalltalk, to which I didn't receive a response. Also, not a problem at all. September the 15th, another 4 weeks have passed. I'm asking for updates. Telling him I'm not intending to rush, telling him to take his time. Though I was giving an emphasis on the fact that 9 weeks have already passed. I asked about his queue, where I am placed at. I didn't receive a response. One week later I sent him another note, asking if he is going to answer me eventually. Slowly losing my patience. He responded the day after, saying he thought he responded to me already. He told me he "hit a pretty bad road bump, but we should be pretty square now." I should "keep an eye out", he'll "bump me an update soon". I responded ecstatically, telling him not to rush it. But I wished we would have a more active base of communication. Told him about a story of a previous bad experience with another artist (though resolved). He didn't respond to this. November the 3rd, another 6 weeks later, I ask him if he could start anytime soon. I didn't receive a response. I noticed he uploaded another artworks and YCHs especially. Apparently, he needed to make more money, while he couldn't finish anything else of his queue. November the 16th, another 2 weeks later, I told him he didn't respond to my note, and asked about the status of my commission. He responded the same day, saying he'll "dig it up today" and send me the "current version" of it. November the 24th, another week later, I asked about his progress. He responded the same day, saying he "found the work" (!?) and he "had done the dang pose wrong", telling me he was sorry about that. He included a link to a sketch, which didn't represent what I was asking for at all. I responded the next day, losing my patience, criticizing his work ethic, yet staying constructive and not being insulting (Even though I admitted, that "I am pissed right now"). I was in disbelief that it took him 4 months to work on my commission, while not even doing what I paid for. I told him about the times he didn't care to respond to me, how I expected him to come forward to me, instead of me having to poke and ask every few weeks, how I paid for this commission alredy, how he makes me belief he might have stolen my money. I questioned him about the other artworks and YCHs he kept posting, while he apparently could not bother to work on my commission. I told him his work ethic was insulting to me. I also told him that I'm sad it went this way. I had hoped it would've been better for us. "I sincerly hope you do understand." I made some demands to have him work with me more proactively and constructively. I gave him my contact data for Discord and Steam. I promised him to work professionally as possible with him. I would focus on the progress of the commission and I wouldn't complain to him about his work ethic any further, if he agreed. I told him the picture has to be finished within the next 2 weeks, as he originally promised, or I'll demand a refund. Which was due yesterday, which I didn't receive. His response was, I quote: "Ok we'll eat shit and take a refund on the 10th you pompous fuck." I was shocked at his response, to say the least. Yet I didn't respond back in any insulting manner. Again, I showed him how the situation was and how he tore my patience apart with that last piece. I criticized his work ethic again and told him I was appalled in which insulting manner he responed to me, a customer. His response: "No. Fuck you. I really don't care about you, or your views, or suffering to be polite to you. You do t deserve it. Fuck you." This only became more childish the more we went on. I told him he was taking my critique way too personal. Yet again, I criticized him. Especially pointing out, how he claims to be "overly social" with his customers and how he is "always seeking to improve", as it's stated on his profile page. I reinforced my previous statement, saying I never attacked him in person. I asked him to keep his dignity. I told him he can refund me at anytime, 10th of December being the deadline. He, again, responded with a lot of vulgarity. Later notes went a bit back and forth, so I won't explain the exact details of them here, yet I will post it in the screenshots below. It's interesting nontheless. - I warned him about carrying this issue towards artist beware, to which he said he didn't give a fuck, he would refund me eventually. He was still very abusive in his choice of words. - He claimed what he did could be done in a "quick edit", yet comparing the sketch to my instructions, it's obvious that it needs a complete redo. I wouldn't have complained if it was just a small error. - Admittedly, I lost a bit of my temper in between, though I didn't attack him personally. - He called me a liar and claimed he did respond to every single one of my notes. He prompted me to read his TOS (explained in the paragraph below). - I proofed him wrong and criticized his TOS. To which he "dares" me to make the Artist Beware post. - I asked him what his deal is. - He told me his personal opinion of me. - I responded and criticized him again. I told him that IF I personally insulted him in any way, I am sorry. - He told me I am delusional. Something about "stead pay"!? - After the last note he send me, to which I tried to respond, he blocked me. I wasn't able to contact him any further. It came to my attention that he claims in his TOS that he "will cancel the commission with no refund if you're abusive." And I believe he makes use of his own rule here, despite me not attacking him in person once. Besides, TOS rule or not, stealing money is stealing money. You can't make it legal by writing up a rule of your own, saying it is legal. Well then, the next 2 weeks until yesterday, I waited for my refund. He didn't do it, so now we're here. Originally posted on Apr. 14th, 2013 by isteillia I've not posted on LJ in a while, as I've been more active on Tumblr, but I felt that those who still deal between the sites might appreciate the heads up. Back in November (2012) I commissioned Pleg to do a piece of art. Names have been blacked out for privacy. https://i.imgur.com/jNoVKWt.jpg She seemed fine with the piece I asked for. I went ahead and paid for it.https://i.imgur.com/3YyP2Um.jpg I don't hear from her for quite a few months, so I ping her. In February. https://i.imgur.com/YSQfOzG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6iCvFPW.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9HE69tW.jpg I am told it's "too complicated." I'm a bit irritated, but tell her I can go for something less detailed, or take a refund. She says she can do something less detailed and that she will work on it. I never hear from her again. So I ping her a week ago (As seen above) and no response. I also sent her an ask on Tumblr, since I saw her post. Still no response. I'm also a stupidly nice person, and sent the payment as a "Gift/Payment Owed" instead of "Goods/Services" to keep her from paying fees, so I am unable to dispute the payment and get the money back. I'm normally a patient person when it comes to commissions, but this lack of communication is what turns me from patient to bitter and angry. Avoid commissioning this artist if you can, you may not get what you paid for at all. Edit: Situation has been resolved; she got back to me finally and is issuing a refund. Still rather irritated that this took so long, but I'm glad it's done with.
  13. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/947383.html FINAL EDIT: So after posting the last update, a few things have happened. My claim was never responded to, however the note I sent to them a week earlier warning of the chargeback was (see their response here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xvaik3o7szvka0r/Inkeyu Response.png?dl=0 ) I was hoping that true to their word, they would refund me there and then, so gave them my email and ignored the fact I found them to be rude (whilst I appreciate being busy, if you run commissions through a site you have an obligation to at least inform them once in a while on where they stand). They never got back in contact nor did they refund me. As of today (29th March 2017) Paypal have ruled in my favour as they never got in contact with Paypal, proof of the dispute resolution is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gdzagfydino29w1/Screenshot_2017-03-29_at_18.51.04.png?dl=0 I will now be blocking the seller on FA, and consider the matter resolved. Edit: I've removed the IG account, and as of yet, there is no response to my chargeback threat. I also can not find any more of my notes asking them for updates (as I regularly clean my mailboxes, if I find any or receive a reply or issue the chargeback, I will keep you updated.) I've also included evidence that my chargeback has not been opened, as well as that my Feb 6th note was read. Edit 2: They never responded to the chargeback note (or opened it) so have included evidence of the paypal claim (I escalated straight to them), they have until the 27th to respond to paypal, as of today (21st of March) there is still no conversation between them and the seller as it still says "awaiting response" on the claim. First off, forgive me if this is incorrect in any way, I'm new here and am incredibly anxious about posting and didn't really want for it to get this way but I feel I've been patient enough after 4 months of minimal contact and I have now issued a warning about a chargeback. Please note I wouldn't have been this patient if it wasn't for the fact this person seemed to be in dire need when I commissioned them. I got paid around then, so instead decided to pay them the full asking price of $25 after some discussion (see "initial discussion" above) since I figured they'd appreciate it more. They asked for payment, which I sent on December 2nd 2016 (see "proof of purchase"). They were initially chatty (see links under "discussing details") and in good contact for a fair few weeks. Around six weeks in, I sent them a polite message to ask for progress, which was responded to by them saying they were busy as their situation was even more dire (I could only find their journal asking for help, and will link this if needed). I did some boosting online in an attempt to help them on my Twitter in the hope they would get to my piece faster, and left them be for another couple of weeks. I then attempted to contact them again (and several times since, like in the Feb 6th screenshot "one of several attempts to get in touch") and noticed that my notes were getting ignored (see "evidence read"). I would contact approximately once a fortnight, and every time the note was opened but never replied to. By this time I was beginning to feel put out, so decided to contact the customer ahead of me in the queue. They explained that Inkeyu worked in the same facility as them, and was under a lot of work pressure, but was going to tell them to respond to me and keep me in the loop (can link this if needed). This was around the end of February and I've still had no contact. I feel crap for doing it, but I'm finally at a point where I am a little suspicious and a little bit dejected. I've issued a 48hr warning before I file a chargeback (see "chargeback") which has been currently unread (see "chargeback unread"). I feel like I've tried to help someone in need and it's backfired on me, and now I fear I'm taking money from the mouth of someone who really needs it even though I don't want to lose that money myself. Chargeback warning issued on March 15th at 20.08GMT and I will update as and when needed.
  14. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/983058.html WHO: RossCiaco WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/rossciaco/ WHAT: Digital Art, $50 NSFW Shaded Commission of a single character WHEN: Arranged December 25, 2015, paid on February 2016, no response to this day EXPLAIN: I’ve inquired about the artist’s availability on December 25, 2015 about commission openings in which they responded sometime after. We’ve arranged the details and he established a time frame of when I expect to be added onto his queue of commissions, which was timed for roughly 1-3 months due to school. If I accepted this, all I had to do was send the info and money to his paypal and that would be it. I personally didn’t care about that brief waiting time and agreed. I saw how frequently he posted his commissioned art in the past shortly after posting an opening via journal posts so I assumed his working was swift. So, I sent the commission information and transaction on Feb, 18, 2016 and the transaction is below. Keep this date in mind. Proof of Payment Since that date, I have not received a single word or update from him to this day. I’ve sent several attempts of contact to him through this time frame throughout his various ways of reaching him. He has not responded to any of my future notes, neither did he read them. I thought something bad happened to the artist due to their inactivity on FA, but I have found their Twitter during the time and saw they were doing just fine. In fact, they were showing their current works in progress to their other projects, and socialized quite often on other people’s profiles... So I assumed he left FA and did his activities on the other platforms, being Twitter and I tried contacting him on there and, surprise, no response. These few attempts were spread out over the long time frame as professional as possible. I would’ve assumed he was heavily busy with emergencies, but after being on his other platforms and seeing his activity on there, that was far from the case. They’re all in the unread gold icons on FA. As for the DMs on Twitter, I’m sure they’re unread as well but here are all of the attempts, dates, and screenshots below. Unread Notes 1 Unread Notes 2 Unread Notes 3 The first reach out was on FA was on March 21st, 2016. Attempt #1 · The second reach out was on his Twitter’s DMs on June 16th, 2016. This also includes the final attempt. Attempt #2 · The third reach out was on FA was November 25th, 2016. Attempt #3 · The fourth reach out was via personal email on January 2nd, 2017. Attempt #4 · The final reachout was on November 11th, 2017 and for both his FA and Twitter that mentions a refund if he didn’t get around to the work. Final Attempt It’s almost been two years with NO word from his end while he continued doing his own business and artworks for both himself and other people along with socializing, and by that, I mean commenting on posts, quick scribbles and art trades for others, etc. while not acknowledging my attempts to contact him. I have no idea if my work has been started, forgotten, or if it’s even sitting there completed. The only exception was some minor tweet he posted about trying to get back on work for people in which I made clear for him on that post not to forget and he gave a small apology. That was last year. In the end, I learned he was not only working on other projects, but he was also posting current artwork and opening up for MORE commissions on FA and Twitter at some point. So this was blatantly ignoring my requests upon asking for some kind—ANY kind of update to the work I paid for. RossCiaco’s lack of communication to his clients and poor management of work gave a horrible experience for me and I’ve possibly lost my money with nothing in return. The professionalism is not handled at all with no attempts from him to contact me about why he was taking so long or had no alternative to compensate for such. Had he done so, I may have excused the overdue work, but this is unacceptable. PROOF: Given in the Explain portion, hopefully that’s enough to give. [Editor's note: From the comments] mopeydragon [OP] September 1 2020, 06:02:35 UTC As of today after making a public comment to a recent submission of his, the artist finally contacted me and gave a choice to wait or request a refund and I decided to opt for the refund. The situation has been resolved.
  15. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/981645.html UPDATE: (5/28/18): Oh &#$%ing boy. Hello again my friends on AB. I have an update. Upon really thinking about it, I am so, so tired and annoyed. On the same day that this was resolved Fuu had said they'd send me the completed laminated badge in the mail within the next week (https://imgur.com/a/bQYXUWH). Cool. It's almost June and I have NEVER received it. At this point, I give up. Not active on their art twitter. Highly active on their personal twitter. They uploaded everyone's finished badges on instagram except mine? Like okay, maybe I'm being petty, but maybe someone else gets me. It's not like there was only one of said badge, but the reason this is SO beyond annoying for me is that I'm so tired of asking Fuu to just. Get. It. Done. Get it done and we don't have to speak about it ever again. But now, I'm fed up, and Fuu get's a bad review from me. I was sympathetic, but now, I'm really not. UPDATE (1/18/18): Fuu has contacted me with the finished art and even offered me a full refund. I declined the full refund as I was just happy to have my art. Fuu is by no means a terrible person and has very humbly owned up to their mistakes with absolute grace. Lovely human being, but just a poor example of customer service, which I hope to see them improve on in the future. WHO: Fuudles/ButlerInHeels WHERE: https://twitter.com/Fuudles WHAT: Coloured badge WHEN: Invoice for payment was sent September 5th, 2016. I remember clearly because I was not in the country when I contacted them. First signs of trouble appeared near the end of the year when they were taking on more commissions and not completing ones they had previously taken. EXPLAIN: I was under the impression the artist had an excellent work ethic as people were retweeting their completed commissions in a very timely manner. This set them up as someone who was excellent to commission because they had good prices and high quality work. I was very happy to receive a slot from them. I’m pretty sure that I was the last person they accepted in that batch/run of badges. I received an inked WIP ten days after the invoice was paid. They posted a coloured WIP in October of my badge flat-coloured with something like fifteen-odd other commissions in the same stage of completion. I thought it was excellent that they were getting so many done so fast. I was not at all concerned and was willing to wait 1-2 months because I knew they had lots to do. Come January 2017 they had a computer crash and their hard drive was toast. If anyone is sympathetic, it would be me; I was in a similar situation ages ago. I was under the assumption that my file was not recovered as I waited another 2-3 months for my commission with nothing. I was not informed whether or not my art was recovered (spoiler alert: it actually was recovered, but did I know that? Nope.), and while it may be my responsibility to ask, it’s also the artist’s responsibility as someone who is running a business to be upfront and clear with their customers, no matter how many people they owed art to. Over the course of 2017, I constantly saw Fuu finishing commissions that I was highly certain were taken long after I had paid for my own. They were opening commissions for convention pick-ups, completing them all in easily a week or less. At this point, I’m getting really irritated; they are obviously fully capable of completing commissions quickly, and I couldn’t understand what was taking so long. I was also thinking about other people that might be waiting alongside with me. I could easily go through the WIPs they have posted in the past, and tell you who has and who hasn’t gotten their art. MOST people have gotten their art, but for some odd reason, I feel as if I have been forgotten. I’m sure there are a handful of others who feel the same way, but are too afraid to assert themselves. Come July 2017, I finally messaged Fuu as the one year mark was coming up. I said to them I felt as if I was forgotten and they assured me I wasn’t. They said come mid-August and after Midwest FurFest, would be a good time to expect my commission to be completed. Come September 2017, and I had not heard anything. In all fairness to Fuu, I understand doing owed art and working at a job is very difficult to balance. And I was also very patient because I was sympathetic. But it’s not an excuse when you have already proven yourself to be very quick to finish commissions only to pull the rug under your customers. Come January 2018, I realize I have not seen Fuu on my newsfeed in sometime - turns out they have been inactive on their art account and main account for almost a month with no warning to commissioners. To wrap it all up I feel jerked around, lied to, and my patience has been taken advantage of. Regardless if the art is completed, this kind of customer service is unacceptable and disregards the integrity and loyalty of your commissioners. PROOF: https://imgur.com/a/wHznd I first messaged Fuu on September 3rd, 2016. Invoice was sent and paid on September 6th, 2016. I received a WIP on September 15th, 2016. A coloured WIP was posted on October 15th, 2016. That’s as far as the art has ever gotten Updated: On January 3rd 2018, because it’s now the new year, I decided to send Fuu another message. Obviously this one is not as kindly worded as my other messages. https://imgur.com/a/RVOeA It remains unread since January 3rd, 2018. They also still seem to be inactive on both their art account and main account. I still am completely unaware of what caused their disappearance as there is nothing to tell what caused it. Obviously it can be cause for worry but nothing indicates something very bad has happened, so, at this point, it seems pretty fruitless.
  16. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/826160.html EDIT: i've been refunded. they contacted me saying they lost my refs, but i asked for a refund instead which they gave me- this can be marked as resolved! --- WHO: http://827772.deviantart.com/ WHERE: http://827772.deviantart.com/ they also have a twitter that is listed publically on their deviantart account profile which is how i've been contacting them since their hiatus: https://twitter.com/taraopta even though my twitter was set to protected and currently is set as such, they do have my deviantart account to send me my art/or reply, and as stated in the explain portion, i did change my twitter from being protected for several days in waiting for a reply, giving them a chance to. WHAT: a couples fullbody image that ended up being $28. i split the payment with a friend but handled the transaction by myself. WHEN: i ordered the commission october 10th 2014, and i contacted her over twitter in january 20th 2015 after noticing there was a hiatus status on their deviantart, and have been in the dark since the beginning of february waiting for some sort of response. PROOF: payment: http://i.imgur.com/aAi6tQa.png attempted dispute: http://i.imgur.com/BPBI9fV.png someone told me i should dispute it even though it'd be automatically closed for paypal's records if i need to take this to the business bureau. EXPLAIN: on october 10th i commissioned a couples fullbody from them, this is the entirely of my note of our back and forths with confirmation of payment sent. when i commissioned her, i was under the impression that even though she has more than 3 people ahead of me, that 'i'll start as soon as i'm paid' meant maybe she wasn't working fully in order like it shows on her profile, and i was in no rush either way because i've had pleasant commissioning experiences with them before. sometime in mid/late january i was prompted by the friend the commission was initially split between, saying it had been a long time since commissioning and i agreed. i looked at their deviantart and saw 'hiatus' on their da profile, but they never let any of the commissioners know, either through notes or a journal about this hiatus. of course, classes were starting back up, but a headsup would've been nice since at this point i had already been waiting 3-ish months, i hadn't really noticed but i decided to try twitter since i was most active there vs. tumblr, and 82772 seemed active there as well and it just felt like a better alternative to try. so, i sent her a tweet and we talked back and forth. i was okay with waiting a week for the art i was patient and actually had hope they'd get it done. i waited, and waited... and waited... and then before i knew it, it had been almost 3 weeks (making it almost 5 months of a wait and a lack of communication). at the time i had gone private on twitter but occasionally went on and off private specifically to message them and gave it a day or two not on private while they were still active, and not responding. honestly, i would've been direct messaging them but it's something you can only do with people that follow you back mutually, so i had to do this and i did maybe like? 2 times tops throughout the 3 weeks i was waiting for my art as to not be pushy but i was also growing frustrated. they were quick to respond to that tweet on january 20th, so i don't understand why they decided not to with the ones i sent afterwards after the start of february, especially when they're constantly posting to twitter and there's no way they're not seeing my tweets to them. so, i'm under the impression they're ignoring me and i have sent them a tweet stating if they didn't reply in a week i would be posting this. so.. here we are, this is pretty much a last resort since i've given them enough time to even respond to me. i would prefer the money over the art since i could use it for someone more reliable... honestly, i'm not sure i'm going to try and fight $28 as it may be more stress than it's worth, but i am disappointed because it was supposed to be for myself and a friend and i've commissioned her before and recieved my art promptly though that was in the summer and they probably weren't as busy as they may be now, but that's really no excuse. i don't understand why this is such a problem, but i don't think i'll be commissioning them in the future if this is how it's gonna go with trying to communicate.
  17. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/807750.html WHO: Royal Tenrou WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/royal-dog and http://www.twitter.com/royaltenrou WHAT: Fullsuit WHEN: March 2011 to Now (November 2014) PROOF: Please note - You have to read the early emails from the bottom up. Click for larger versions. Proof of Payment: First emails (beginning of the breakdown): Previous Deadline: Last emails: EXPLAIN: In March 2011, I visited the Midwest and ended up staying with Royal for a few days after meeting him through a mutual friend on FA previously. He mentioned that he wanted to go beyond his regular 2D art and get into fursuit building and at that time I wanted to bring my alt character to life. He decided to take me on as his first project, charging me $500 for a fullsuit. In September of that year I sent him the $500 and sporadically communicated with him over the next two years. When I reached out to him in November 2013, he said that the project was on hold. I got upset and had a back and forth with him (illustrated above). I wanted the unfinished suit so I could get someone else to complete it and he refused. After a cool down period, I emailed him again in February 2014 and he finally made some decent progress. Over the next seven months he made great strides building the suit until he seemingly hit a brick wall in October where he stated that his workspace was being compromised due to a ceiling leak. After the 16th however, he stopped communicating completely, yet according to his still active Twitter he was able to find time to pursue other interests. It has been over three years for the suit and to be frank, I feel he has simply stopped working on it. At this point I feel a refund would be impossible to obtain and I simply want the unfinished suit so I can get a professional to finish it or for him to at least provide a update and finally get it done. I know things have been difficult for him, but three years is long enough to wait for something like this. UPDATE (12/18/14): After sending him an email stating that I was preparing to take him to small claims court over the issue, he finally sent a progress picture of the head. He also stated that he would not communicate with me until the suit is finished and he would send update pictures at his discretion only. Should I hold off on small claims court or should I pressure him into relinquishing the incomplete suit and just having someone else finish it? UPDATE (2/17/15): Around January he reached out to me with another update and ever since then he has been consistently in contact with me, complete with progress pictures. I'm really glad that this is working out without resorting court or anything. UPDATE (3/6/15): Communication has improved tenfold and the head is pretty much done! Only thing left are the paws and tail. I'm excited for the final product and it looks like this is on its way to being resolved. UPDATE (5/8/15): THE SUIT IS DONE! Since the previous update, he has been working all out to get it finished and I cannot put into words how happy and proud I am of him now. Communication was excellent the last two months (via DMs on Twitter) and the work itself blew my expectations out of the water. Waiting for the suit to finally arrive next week so I can take pics. This should be resolved as soon as I get the suit! UPDATE (5/20/15): I received the suit about two weeks ago and after putting it through its paces, all I can say is WOW! The head is well built (love the attention to detail such as the velcro strips that replicate the character's eye black stickers), the paws are super soft, and the tail is great. Sadly though, the bodysuit is too small and will need to be altered, not Royal's fault though since it was the first thing finished and that was around two years ago (the body was based on a three year old DTD... yea I got a bit fat >.>). Also the head was a bit tight and I had to remove the moving jaw, just added fleece to the gap and its all good now! I gotta say that its one hell of a suit and I absolutely love it! This is definitely resolved!

Ohm will be referred to by they/them/theirs out of respect for their choice of pronouns. I understand the situation in which Ohm had injured their hand in 2017 and when they had to move out of their apartment in 2019 AZ due to AC and space issues. I understand there was a period of time where Ohm's messaging on almost all social media outlets was really glitched out and communication would be faltered. Hence why I decided to reach out to multiple at a time. I do not wish ill will towards them or their future, I really do wish and hope for Ohm to be successful in their endevours. Why: Failure to show updates of any kind, failure to keep client (myself) up to date, failure to provide a queue, communication issues, poor business practices. I would like to start off by saying, do not actively seek and harrass Ohm. This is an ordeal that is between the two of us, however, I am making this to make others aware of my situation and to warn others before possibly conducting business and/or trades. It has come to a point where I have to make this public in order to get some sort of confirmation, update and something set in stone from them. Back in 2017 I had just started really getting into the furry fandom. I had met Ohm online via Facebook and we started off being pretty good friends. I was so amazed to see their work and how much potential they had. I supported them in all of their work, progress images in art and suit making. I really looked up to Ohm and was so excited to have a new friend. Looking back at the screenshots, it seems as though I commissioned them for some artwork before we got to meet for the first time in person, also at my very first furcon. We talked about how our lives were and what we had planned for the future and I gifted them a very small badge. (I know the badge is irrelevant, but somewhere deep down I hope they still have it.) After meeting up with them at AZFC 2017 (just a few days prior Ohm had an accident where their hand got cut by their glass window.) I had saved up enough to be able to commission them for a set of feetpaws; specifically sockpaws. I had made my payments pretty quickly, all under friends and family because I knew I could trust them. I knew that they were my friend. (This was before I knew to always send payment for commissions in business PayPal.) I understood that I was going to be put at the bottom of the queue as there were others ahead of me. I wanted Ohm to feel comfortable knowing that I was going to be a reliable and understanding customer. If I remember correctly, a few people prior had either canceled commissions or asked for refunds from Ohm. I didn't want to cause anymore trouble or hassle than was needed. I do recall Ohm having trouble making ends meet for the apartment rent and even groceries a lot of times. I thought it might be helpful to add on to my order, handpaws, and to even buy artwork from them too, which were both added on at a later date. Throughout the whole process I did not have any knowledge of where I was on the queue, when my materials arrived, or when the sockpaws would even be started. The one time I did reach out to ask about it I was told that parts are not on the public queue because they would be done in-between bigger suit work. Ex: heads, bodysuits, etc. I was very patient and still hopeful, yet a bit weary at the lack of communication. Then there came a point where whenever I talked about my commissions I was ghosted. I would see Ohm's profile say "Online" and message them at those times, but never got responses. Then there came a point where what I wrote was not seen. I gave it some time, since I knew the IMs for Ohm was kinda glitchy, but then hours became days, days became weeks, and then months. Every chance I got to reach out to them it's always an, I'll get to you later. We can do it by x date. I'll be sure to get back to you. Deadlines came and went. Now here we are 3 years later I see commission after commission being completed. Heads, bodysuits, handpaws and feetpaws, many artworks, yet I have no idea where I am on the queue. I have absolutely no idea if my items have even been started since 2017. Now, I see Ohm opening up again for more commissions once more. I just want an honest answer, what happened to my order, to my items? I know now I won't be able to get my money back. As much as I don't want to admit it, I don't think I'll ever get my hands, feet, and art from them at all either. I know now that we're not friends anymore too. And it sucks that it had to end this way. I really wish the best for them, OhmegaSuitStudios can go far, but please Ohm, my once close friend, don't do this to anyone else. Don't let others wait for months, years even for a response on where they are on your queue. Leaving them wondering if you ever started on them. Making them feel like a burden to talk to you because the items have become the only thing to talk about. So that's why I wrote this beware. Be aware of what OhmegaSuitStudios, Ohmnog, Ohm Protho has done. I hope this never happens to anyone else. I hope I'm not too late either… Evidence: Note: I included all of their WIPS/Updates channel to date for proof of no knowledge of my own order being worked on Anything new will be added in the "new information" folder **All personal email, names, and addresses are drawn over for our privacy and protection. As of Sep 12, 2019 at 11:55 EST, I have been refunded in full. This beware will still stay up however as reference. All new evidence is in the "new information" folder. I can't believe it took almost 3 years for me to get refunded...
  19. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/891244.html WHO: Kahuna Otter/ Sugarfactory / SugarAussie WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/sugarfactory/ https://twitter.com/sugaraussie WHAT: Digital art on a physical item: It was a two sided, two character dakimakura (silk full length pillow) that was to be shipped to me in the UK. WHEN: - Slot was confirmed and paid for on 28th August 2015 - Refund was offered on 2nd December 2015 - Final contact before starting Paypal dispute 10th January 2016. PROOF: I hope it is okay, these are all filtered in my post in links as it will make a lot more sense with the explanation part. EXPLAIN: On 28th August 2015, Sugar Factory posted a journal offering a one time commission slot for a dakimakura of your character for $150. I emailed her my reference and my idea. She replied confirming I had the slot http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.09.16.png Cut forward a couple of emails which included discussion of making it two characters on each side for an extra $20 and I was ready to pay. I sent my payment via Paypal on 28th August as seen here: http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/paypal.png She confirmed she would start straight away http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.09.50.png
On 30th August, I was sent a sketch of the first page, and then slightly later, a complete line art for the first side as seen here http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/lines 30-08-15.png I confirmed this was good and no changes needed to be done. Communication stopped until 30th September where I emailed her for an update regarding this and another piece of art I had also commissioned (a set of telegram stickers). http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.26.41.png Reference here is also made to a badge i commissioned before which, she never sent to me but instead just posted to her twitter (which I didn’t follow) and a friend of mine linked it to me. At this point I was informed that she would send the high resolution copy of the badge and that all digital work was back on schedule. Communication once again stopped until 2nd December where I raised my concerns that there was no progress on the piece since August and that I was hoping it would be done for Christmas. At this point I was reassured that she would try and get it done, and if not she would issue a full refund for the item; I hadn’t even asked/considered a refund at this point. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.30.30.png On 3rd December, I asked whether a refund would be easier for her than trying to get the art done in time, and was told she was researching options but if it doesn’t work out she would refund me that night. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.32.28.png I queried again on the 4th and was told she was waiting on responses from companies. I decided on the 8th December to message again to see if there were any updates and was informed she had decided to issue a full refund AND complete the art but asked if i was okay waiting a week for the payment. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.35.24.png I replied saying I was okay waiting but that i would feel awful if she were to do the art as well. On 20th December as I hadn’t received the payment I sent another email to her http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.37.02.png At this point I was getting fed up of excuses and no progress and a lot of correspondence occurred that day about how I was in breach of her TOS and that she only agreed to refund me because I was a friend of a friend (despite her offering the refund to start with). I stated i would like a date with which the refund will be paid and was told that she would pay me in smaller amounts until the full amount is paid, I was okay with this suggestion. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.40.45.png I received no small payments, but on 26th December I received an email saying she was near the full amount. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.41.52.png On the 30th I emailed to ask if there was any updates and could she send what she had so far even if it wasn’t the full amount. I was informed she was at the hospital but would when she got home http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.42.31.png On 4th January, still nothing from her, I was told she was dealing with a quick emergency and would pay the following night. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.43.41.png On 7th January I queried what happened with this, and was told she was waiting for a payment. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.44.42.png
Today I emailed again, explaining it was getting ridiculous and indicating i was close to getting Paypal to sort this out for me as i felt I was getting nowhere dealing with her directly. http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Screen Shot 2016-01-10 at 21.46.11.png A lot of emails went back and forth tonight which i have bundled into a screen dump you can see here http://yksi.org.uk/sugarfactoryAB/Untitled 2.png I was faced with blackmailing that because of me her partner can’t eat, and that I will be hurting her as a business and putting her in debt etc. I have no idea what she is going to do, or what choice she has made as per the last two screenshots. I have raised a Paypal dispute now, and I have escalated the claim though I have no idea if this will be successful or not. Edit: I have been successful with the disput with Paypal Thank you for all your kind comments though
  20. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/881485.html Who: Inu-Jean Where: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/inu-jean/ What: Digital art, two characters, finished here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/18266800/ (NSFW) When: Payment sent November 14, 2014 and image was completed on November 16, 2015 Proof: Payment sent and received: http://imgur.com/vZclyFF First Concern raised: http://imgur.com/tK7BMWt Second Concern: http://imgur.com/ULUzpNi WIP ask not responded to: http://imgur.com/sYuQBbv Major Concerns raised: http://imgur.com/nL9iJ6S Artist's Update Journal: http://imgur.com/tGtnutU WIP Promised: http://imgur.com/Jg9bLQc Removed from queue: http://imgur.com/VZx6C0o Art Stream discussed: http://imgur.com/sXO0kdj Very major concerns: http://imgur.com/vlKFaEc Responded to with a WIP: http://imgur.com/Ky09ACZ Explain: I would first like to say that I hold no ill will towards the artist, nor is this made in any way to defame or try to beat down on him. His work is phenomenal, but both I and my friend (who has had several great experiences with commissioning this artist in the past) feel it’s important for people who may want to commission this particular artist in the future to know that there may be issues during the process. Neither of us believe any bad intentions were made on the artist’s part, but things certainly spiraled nearly out of control and became an almost perfect storm of stuff gone wrong in the commissioning process. However, art was finally delivered, and done so to both my and my fellow commissioner’s satisfaction. I have to admit, I do feel a bit uncomfortable posting this, but after learning that my fellow commisioner shared a similar situation to another commssioner during the same time frame, I think it's important that I do so. A friend of mine (Alex in the screenshots) and I contacted Inu-Jean for a 2-character commission in November of 2014. Specifics of the commission were worked out over the course of the following few days. We were a ways down from the images he was working on and knew there would be a decent wait involved, which did not bother us. However, the months went by, not a single update was given regarding progress until a (now deleted) update journal was posted to FA in late April announcing that the artist was taking on another batch of commissions. Concerned, my fellow commissioner messaged the artist regarding this, but he did not respond until being messaged once more several weeks later... Radio silence continues until June. A WIP is requested and the artist states he will try to get something done by the coming Monday, but no progress is made and no further updates given. I asked if WIP progress was made on Tuesday, but was not replied to. Radio silence continues until August when I write a fairly lengthy message to the artist, and he does post a proper update journal to FA. After this point, a public queue is posted, and visible work does begin on those above us in the queue, and everything appears to be on track and going well. However, during this time, the artist took on another batch of commissions, opened for a YCH, and began working heavily on Patreon reward art. A WIP is promised, and not delivered. Another almost 2 weeks goes by, we’re removed from the queue, and other work begins on art from the new queue. Concerns are expressed. Patreon art, the YCH, and later accepted commissions are worked on and posted. A brief art stream occurs where progress finally begins, albeit only for a brief amount of time due to unruly, very crude, comments from unruly members of the stream audience that did not stop for some time despite prompting from the artist, myself, and other members of the stream audience. This causes the artist to become frustrated and stop working. This last part is completely understandable given the circumstances, but did serve as a roadblock for further progress. Several more weeks pass with yet more art from Patreon or commission work from later batches is completed and posted, and the artist opens for yet another batch of commissions. Growing frustrated, my friend and I decided it’s best to express our concerns to the artist once more. Difficult working hours on the artist’s part are discussed, and are certainly understandable (2 am to 10 am. Yikes!), but the lengthy amount of time passed and lack of communication during the past year had made the situation less understandable. A WIP is posted in response. Work continues throughout the week, but after the expression of major concerns and a very brief discussion of difficulties, responses are curt, if present at all. Requests for minor changes are not acknowledged verbally, but are put in place in following WIPs. Finally, the finished artwork is delivered.

PROOF: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1p3pqghdpbbdmnp/AAC-pN2f7LeWyjggsC5J0coea?dl=0 (Contains all previously linked content, 2 items within are considered NSFW) EXPLAIN: I had originally purchased a My Little Pony-themed YCH Commission from this artist for $10. Sadly, I do not have a PayPal or e-mail screencap for it, due to most of my transactions before 2014 not being visible on my account for some reason, and it is likely that I deleted the e-mail of this particular purchase from my inbox, as I had cleared out a lot of spam e-mails a few years back. I do in fact still have a screenshot from my inbox for the second transaction, however, also linked above. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/qef5ynwpf5hv5mq/PayPal%20email%20July%2014%202012.PNG?dl=0) I had been willing to remain patient, and in fact, had forgotten about them after a while, and rediscovered them while looking through my notes on FurAffinity in October of 2015, while looking for details in regards to another, unrelated commission. I had contacted her on her pinkustardust account on FurAffinity, having been redirected through a link to her new account on her MajesticRoar account, about them, and she requested that I contact her via deviantART (as shown here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fqqyfbcs6h5fqa2/pinkustardust FA Account Note.PNG?dl=0), which I did. (Warning, NSFW: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vp6m003l2846i4e/DeviantART Notes.PNG?dl=0) I had initially simply requested that the second pic be changed, since I had recently come into ownership of a new character, and wanted that character featured in the image instead. However, after some consideration, and a little bit of a financial issue caused by my bank, I decided to instead request a refund for both pieces, to which she, somewhat rudely replied that it is not her problem, and that she doesn't force anyone to commission her, to which I replied, rather cordially, providing screencaps via dropbox links, that my commissions were both from 2012, and that I have been on her queue for quite some time, with no show of progress for either of them. Surely she couldn't have commissions waiting THAT long, could she? Her response was that she did, over 3 years at that point. I found that rather hard to believe, and questioned her about it, to which she gave another somewhat rude response, pictured above. Several hours later, however, she provided a very rough sketch of the second requested image, featuring the newer character, pictured here: (Warning, NSFW: http://sta.sh/0270p6e73p0u ) Over 3 years, and all I've received so far is a very messy sketch. However, it WAS progress, so, perhaps a bit too generously, I half-heartedly apologized, and, in order to simplify things, requested that the YCH image be dropped, and instead just have them put towards upgrading the pic, so as to get a better-quality image, and also because by that point, I was no longer into the whole My Little Pony fad, to which she agreed, as can be seen in the second note dump. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/8fk8vpuo5drmv7x/DeviantART%20Notes2.PNG?dl=0) About a full year later, with no signs of progress, I decided to inquire again, as shown here here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j2eft57dokyheu0/DeviantART Notes3.PNG?dl=0 I had been seething at this point, but masked my anger and pretended to sympathize. Fastforward to March 3rd, 2017. After another year of no contact or updates, I had noticed that TealStreaks was doing a NSFW livestream, (https://www.dropbox.com/s/3uks7gl5xfg4d23/DeviantART%20Journals.PNG?dl=0) something she's done quite a few of, as well as opened commissions, and art trades a few times, as seen in the above screenshots. Feeling like taking a gamble, I attempted to join the stream, but was denied entry twice. Feeling frustrated, and feeling that this was motivated in part by not wanting to do the work I've been waiting on for almost 5 years at this point, since the stream journal specifically requested that you enter with your username, I posted a comment asking why, to which she responded with this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jdrffad9ggv1htu/Semi-Rude Response.PNG?dl=0 And after I joined the stream, I bore witness to this conversation, before she ended the stream: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v3jr3myh0pmki5g/TealStreaks Talking Shit.PNG?dl=0 She not only insulted me there, but the entirety of the FurAffinity community through that conversation with whom I assume is her significant other. That, for me, was the final straw. As you can see, I had a comment ready to post in response to that. The stream ended shortly before I could post it, but I collected the conversation through multiple screencaps and saved it to link here. I didn't want the pic finished for fap material, as she seems to think, but for the principle of getting what you pay for, and finishing what you start, something she's clearly incapable of doing, based off my experiences with her. At this point, I don't care if the pic gets done or not anymore. If it does, great, she's earned the money I gave her almost 5 freaking years ago. If not, then it shows just how TealStreaks (or whatever name she'll be going by after this goes up, I don't doubt she'll change her username to try to escape the backlash) really is. I only hope that nobody else gets screwed over by her like I did. It's far too late for me to take this up with PayPal, and it's not a huge amount of money to me now, anyway, but it's about the principle of the matter. I paid her for work, and she didn't deliver. I advise anyone who finds TealStreaks to avoid commissioning her at all costs. Update 3/16/17: I have recently received contact from TealStreaks, who has apologized for her actions and attitude towards me, shown in the following linked notes. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/0t96dl45047o20d/TealStreaks%20Apology.PNG?dl=0 & https://www.dropbox.com/s/gkquiib8y15gm6x/TealStreaks Apology2.PNG?dl=0) In addition, she has provided a full refund for both commissions (screencap here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1lqrr4rzjcd3whp/PayPal Refund March 16 2017.PNG?dl=0), and has stated intent to complete the commissioned image right away, as an additional apology. At this point, with the image pending, I shall consider this Beware resolved. Update 3/17/17: At about 7:18 PM EST, TealStreaks streamed work on the pic. She has also informed me of some rather nasty notes she has received related to this. I would appreciate it if this stopped. For one thing, it is strictly against AB's TOS, and for another, the situation is already resolved, so there's no need to do such a thing. I will be updating with the link when the image is finished and posted, but please, cease the notes to TealStreaks. It's not, nor was it ever needed, OR wanted on my end. Update #2: 3/17/17: As of about 8:53 PM EST, I have a WIP of the pic. (Warning NSFW: http://sta.sh/01e4t9n3ghkl) Work is expected to continue on it tomorrow, barring unexpected circumstances cropping up. Final Update: 3/19/17: The pic has been finished. Everything is resolved. (Warning NSFW: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w52bx6qv74rxp30/heart_by_tealstreaks-db2ruef.png?dl=0) I will likely clear the screenshots out of my Dropbox within a few weeks, as there is no need for the screens any longer.
  22. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1012021.html WHO: Tegan AKA CarrionCupcake WHERE: Original transaction was an in-convention commission at Furpocalypse 2017. Notes have been exchanged primarily through Fur Affinity since then. WHAT: Traditional con badge WHEN: October 27, 2017 (day one of Furpocalypse): I commissioned Tegan for a con badge. The base price was $80, but I asked Tegan to charge me $100 instead, with the extra $20 being a tip. Furpocalypse uses a system where the artist fills out the price on an invoice, which the buyer then brings to a central checkout and pays the teller. The teller then stamps the invoice to indicate it has been paid, and the buyer returns the stamped invoice to the artist. I paid the Furpocalypse teller in cash and unfortunately I no longer have my receipt after all this time, though the Furpocalypse staff might if pressed. October 28, 2017 (day two of Furpocalyse): I went to pick up my badge, as Tegan had promised a next-day turnaround. Tegan told me there it wasn't finished yet and to please check back tomorrow. October 29, 2017 (day three of Furpocalypse): I went again to pick up my badge, and Tegan once again said it had not yet been finished. Tegan asked if it could be done as take-home work, and I agreed. November 11, 2017: I sent Tegan a note on Fur Affinity asking for an update. (screenshot) The same day, Tegan replied and said it would be posted "this week." (screenshot) December 26, 2017: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) Tegan read it but did not respond. February 18, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) February 19, 2018: Tegan replied only with "Hey what's your next con?" (screenshot) February 20, 2018: I informed Tegan that I will probably be doing Furpocalypse again this year. (screenshot) Tegan read the note but did not respond. June 3, 2018: I asked Tegan if I'm to understand from that exchange that the badge will be ready before Furpocalypse? (screenshot) June 4, 2018: Tegan replied that it would actually be scanned, posted, and mailed to me "this week" if I could provide my address (screenshot) June 4-8, 2018: I asked Tegan if it would be all right to send my mailing address via email instead of Fur Affinity notes, because I don't particularly trust the latter. Tegan agreed, and I did so. I'm not providing screenshots of the email since it's literally just me providing my mailing address (which is not information that should be posted here anyway), but here (screenshot) is a confirmation note back on Fur Affinity, informing Tegan that the email had been sent. As of when I submitted this post to a_b, I never received anything in the mail. July 10, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) July 11, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "this week." (screenshot) July 22, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) July 11, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "today or tomorrow." (screenshot) August 5, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) August 6, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "tomorrow." (screenshot) August 8, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. Though there had been a soft unspoken inferring up to this point that Tegan needed only to scan and post the badge, the lack of updates over this long a time lead me to ask more directly and formally: The badge actually is finished, yes? (screenshot) Tegan read it but did not respond. August 13, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. Because of how long it has been and especially the lack of response to my direct question, I started to more overtly show doubts that this badge is indeed finished. I asked for a refund if it was not. (screenshot) Tegan replied after "finally [getting] home" that the scan would be posted by "tomorrow." (screenshot) August 16, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. I also asked what is causing all these delays. I repeated my stance that I would like a refund if the badge had not actually been completed, as Tegan still had not directly answered that. (screenshot) Tegan replied complaining about having a lot going on, but promised to get the scan "soon." (screenshot) August 23, 2018: I dropped a sharply-worded ultimatum on Tegan. (screenshot) The main point, to quote a passage from the middle: "You still have yet to answer a simple and direct yes or no question that I've asked several times now: Does my badge actually exist? Have you drawn it yet, in all this time? If so, prove it. It really should not take two and a half months now just to scan something. If you haven't started it yet, then please don't. I will instead take a full refund." Because of the repeated delays promising updates soon/tomorrow/etc. I informed Tegan that I felt the only way to get the matter resolved was to attach a deadline: I expected either the badge or a refund by September 1, or I would take the matter to a_b. August 27, 2018: Tegan replied "now that [Tegan is] home" understanding and thanking me for the warning, and promising to talk to me "soon." (screenshot) August 31, 2018: Tegan sent me another note suggesting it may have to wait until Sunday the 2nd, rather than the 1st as originally promised. Tegan promised to include extra sketches for the trouble, and to pay for shipping with tracking. (screenshot) September 3, 2018: The September 1 deadline came and went, and so did the September 2 deadline, so I wrote and submitted this post here. EXPLAIN: I still have not received anything after almost a full year of "today/tomorrow/this week/soon" promises. I still do not believe this badge ever existed, which leaves me at a loss regarding how to deal with Tegan's offer on August 31. I very specifically and directly, more than once, instructed Tegan not to draw this badge if it had not already been made, because I would rather have a refund at this point. Tegan never did answer the direct yes-or-no question of whether this badge ever existed. If it did not (which I very strongly suspect) but Tegan then threw something together this weekend to meet the deadline, that would directly go against my frequently-repeated wishes. One could argue that receiving the badge+bonus sketches+complimentary shipping with tracking would at least be something, and that was why I was persuaded to give Tegan one more day per the note on the 31st. Even now, a part of me is worried I'm going to click "Submit" on this and then received the finished product half an hour after I posted it, and end up looking silly for that. However, I look back on this entire history and... well, I'm sorry, but I simply can't believe Tegan anymore. Tegan implied I'd be getting the scan any second now, but Tegan has been implying that for months. At this point, I just want the matter resolved. By refund, preferably, but I might just have to take what I can get.
  23. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/990259.html WHO: exitoricanqueen/exitoricanbean WHERE: https://exitoricanqueen.deviantart.com/, https://exitoricanbean.deviantart.com/ WHAT: animated icon WHEN: initial conversation and payment: october 11th, 2017. asked for an update march 12th 2018. pinged their alt account exitoricanbean march 20th. offered to take a refund march 29th. noted about previous messages + request to refund april 3rd. noted again about previous note april 11th. EXPLAIN: i commissioned them october 11th for an animated pixel icon. they responded to my request approving my commission and letting me know they set up the widget for me to pay (initial conversation - https://sta.sh/012cq1844cnp) (proof of payment - https://sta.sh/01voj3nv3v84) because i had seen the vast amount of people asking before me, and as an animator myself i knew an icon of the sort would take time, i wasnt very concerned about the wait for a while. around january/february i wondered about it but didn’t think much. however, what i noted was that if they were working on all of the commissions owed before me, surely around this time mine should be done. and i watch both their main and side accounts on da, and i could see this wasnt the case. a lot of their recent art is either gift art or art for themself. i figured if they had such a big backlog, they shouldnt be doing much else besides their commissions. i questioned them about it here (https://sta.sh/02huower20g) and i received no response. after i commented they changed their taglines to say they were "slow and dead", and they stopped posting for a few days. however, i glanced at their favorites and noticed that while they werent posting, they were still online, because one of their recent favorites was posted after the supposed hiatus. i asked another commissioner about them and learned that they seem to have become overwhelmed by the workload they have. its hard for me to feel bad for them, as they shouldnt have taken 34 commissions in one day (this isnt an exaggeration, i started a chart to see just how much work they had and how much money they owe and here it is https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIvkpo3SrVCKU_2vps8yA3v39Yu62vjwB2BUzjhHcyE/edit?usp=sharing), and while it would be uncomfortable to have to admit to having little to no progress on my commission, id greatly prefer it to being blatantly ignored like this. i know im not the only one dealing with this issue with them. im asking for a refund tonight but i dont expect a response, and judging from the other commissioners experience, i doubt ill get my money back even if i do get a response. ive never done something like this before, i hope i didnt do anything wrong here i just want it to be known that exitoricanqueen seems to have a lack of communication and lack of priority for owed art. update: this was orginally written march 29th. it is now april 11th, and i have asked about a refund 3 times now, on the 29th (https://sta.sh/0286sl77e5xj), 3rd (https://sta.sh/01deygrow1lu), and today, the 11th (https://sta.sh/063uojq9adm). i have received no response despite exitoricanbean being clearly active, posting art and talking on their page. in my sent folder the note is shown to be unread, which means that it was either set to be that way or they just never bothered to read it in the first place. all screencaps here: https://sta.sh/2c1yt75xddh update: finished the backlog chart. this is (almost, at least everything i could find on their commissions journal) every commission they have taken from october 1st 2017 onwards, and the costs, and which are finished or not https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIvkpo3SrVCKU_2vps8yA3v39Yu62vjwB2BUzjhHcyE/edit?usp=sharing update 2: on april 20th i noted them again here (https://sta.sh/01bf6t8a9xyz). after a week of silence exitorican began posting again on both their main and alt accounts, but have still continued to blatantly ignore me. im running out of hope for this because it truly seems like they just dont care about what theyve done. all of my notes are unread (https://sta.sh/0iuwhutaa11). i have contacted this person 6 times now and there is no logical explanation for them to have not seen my messages. they are ignoring me and i genuinely dont know what to do. im considering noting again and telling them ill post this to my deviantart if they dont respond but at this point im losing hope.
  24. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/814455.html WHO: Fossil The Undead Artist (aka Fossil) WHERE: Mostly talked in emails. His FA is: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/fossil WHAT: 4 commissions; the exact amount was removed from evidence for privacy WHEN: Started September 26th 2012 and continued on until now MY SIDE OF THE ISSUE: I had been a longtime supporter and friend to Fossil and well over time I finally was able to commission him first a tattoo for my wife at FurFright and then finally some artwork. Things had been going along smoothly until Hurricane Sandy hit. After this point it seemed things hit the fan for him which was understandable at the time. I had paid in full for four commissions and over time talked to him about it, but mostly was worried about him and seeing if he was alright; then he dropped off the grid. Below are two Dropbox Links that show proof of agreement and then payment: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/tjit34og1tuophr/Payment discussion.png?dl=0 https://dl.dropbox.com/s/a4pnnbjwh6aq2ce/Payment Confirmation.png?dl=0 At this point I naturally did what any friend would do and waited patiently and he did come back for a moment or two and told me things were bad, but getting better. He finally finishes one of the four commissions and had even began work on the second one as far as inking goes with the third already being sketched out too. So I was confident at this point things were finally on the right track. The following links show multiple contacts and finally the first image sent and date it was sent: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/4o0w4l7diatazns/Feb 5th 2013 checkin.png?dl=0 https://dl.dropbox.com/s/o6w9v2ro6dqo74x/Feb 18th to March 29th 2014 checkin.png?dl=0 https://dl.dropbox.com/s/vjls76jrrlqvhxn/April 17th 2014 Checkin.png?dl=0 https://dl.dropbox.com/s/h8g03szw81gvvj4/May 14th Checkin and FIRST picture received.png?dl=0 Next, after two months, he contacts me out of the blue with progress showing two more images. One being completed with the third being sketched out: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/jbhrpgfbifw6ofi/July 21st and SECOND image with THIRD sketch.png?dl=0 He falls off the grid again; this time for good. I go to another con and asked my contacts if they had seen him and come to find out that he had moved to another state and then dropped off the grid to get some affairs in order. Now I had been in contact with him via email up to this point as well and would get the occasional "Still Alive" messages until I tried to email him again to check in on how things had progressed after he had moved, not about my art, but his own situations. This is when I found out he had deleted his email account and I received the lovely return email saying the address is no longer valid. Next shows the email confirming that his email is no longer valid: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/hy2rlzdk3u2bjgd/Email Failure.png?dl=0 Moving forward I had heard and saw he was working with Crowchild as an artist for High Tail Hall and figured that he had dropped out of that part as well given how much of a hermit Fossil had become, but after today, I have recently found out he is still indeed working with the HTH project and completely disregarded anyone else even if they paid $XXX for a set of commissions. Finally below is the screenshot on FA of Crowchild confirming that Fossil is still working with them: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/9ddfuob2um2qf4r/Fossil still at HTH.png?dl=0 Two years have come and gone now; now I am not sure what to do or how to go about it because we all know how Paypal has such a small window of reporting and charging back one's account. So I guess this message is to warn others about what happened as well as getting some advice of how to tackle the sum of money, albeit not a full refund as he has finished one image and worked on two others, and how to get anything from him even if it ends up being a message of "Hey I can't do it; sorry". Also for clarification; there will be some areas that have been removed. This was done to insure the anonymous side of a third person that was involved with this in which I was getting two images as a gift for.
  25. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/963375.html Its with an EXTREMELY heavy heart that I am writing this; but its been ongoing for SO long I think it is time. I want to preface this beware with the fact that Wolframkyo is EXTREMELY passionate and very kind in all their responses and usually get back to me rather quickly. This is a beware on professionalism, and a lack of time management.. as one year later I'm still awaiting my piece of art from them. Unfortunately I did not screengrab the journal where Wolframkyo was offering discounted commissions for an emergency fund; this was done end of June of 2016. Not sure what the circumstances were but I do recall that the journal was offering up their stunning artwork for a very affordable price, and was to be done in stream! So I jumped on that journal asking for a commission and was greeted promptly with an accept! payment was made (15USD) via Paypal http://imgur.com/K03OOc8 Unfortunately my piece didnt come up in any of the streams in this time frame which is fine, things happen, so from there I just waited for a little while, and saw a journal update in regards to u updates for the commission list! I noticed that my commission was NOT on this list and was a little concerned so I messaged Wolf and brought it up. They eased my mind and told me that it was an accident and I was added, and bumped up! http://imgur.com/K03OOc8 This was done via an Furaffinity Journal which I did not grab a screenshot of at that time, as I had no reason for concern. Ok great! Im a pretty patient person, so I just let Wolfram work on art and kept checking back in here and there. Fast forward to October now; I just asked for some updates as waiting from June to October for a in stream commission is a little long, but again I'm pretty patient. http://imgur.com/ulzlgj9 Im not really sure how I was supposed to be reading into their response? Im not sure if my commission was included in the ones they were talking about, or if my piece was to be done after this current batch? Whichever, I didnt mind the update and waiting a little bit longer. Im going to be really honest on this next part; I was VERY sick, in and out of the hospital and honestly had no time/forgot about this commission for quite some time. One day I received an unexpected note from Wolf saying that they were sorry for the wait, and they had lost my character sheet but I was to be up in the next batch of commissions! http://imgur.com/ER9cmof This took me by great surprise as I had all but forgotten about this piece. I promptly responded with a copy of my reference and was again relayed I would have updates the following weekend. (Please note the time stamp is now February of 2016) http://imgur.com/4Dzz5gr I really hate bugging artists, but Im at the point where I just either want my art done, or my refund. Im nervous about asking for a refund as they post journals regularly about financial issues, trying to work on art, trying to refund people.. but I attempted once more to contact them to get ANY form of an update. http://imgur.com/bmC3T7b But were here on July 18th 2017 with no updates, no progress, just promises of "youre up next" "ill have it soon" "next weekend hopefully". Wolfram is EXTREMELY kind hearted and I can tell theyre trying their best.. But its really frustrating to be led on by an artist and strung along for this long now. Something that I just now noticed was that on their Trello (application used to show progress/keep up to date on commissions) I wasnt even added to the queue until February of 2016. Im not sure if this was because of the switch from the FA journal to Trello or what, but I did find this very odd. http://imgur.com/8rqtvt7 EDIT: WOLFRAM has completed my work! (just over a year of a wait) and as I've said before, theyre SO kind and willing to work with you. My beware Isnt on their art, scamming, or anything of that really negative type. its just a time management/overloading themselves beware. I would commission again absolutely IF/WHEN wolfram gets their queue under control and the turn around time is not like 8 months to a year for a single piece. you can see their hard work/dedication and how quick they respond and how truly polite they are.
