About Me

  1. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/922014.html WHERE: http://chirart.tumblr.com WHAT: digital sketch commission WHEN: Paid August 31, 2015 (in one of the emails I mention September, but I was mistaken; it was August). Was first told that commission would be finished January 2016. Most recent contact August 10, 2016; still have not received commission. PROOF: EXPLAIN: I commissioned a digital sketch on August 31, 2015. As one can see in the Terms of Service, the waiting period can be up to 4 months. I want to say it was around November that the artist also suffered an injury that kept her from being able to create art, and I didn't want to give the impression that I was in a hurry to get the piece while she was recovering. In December 2015 I contacted her to check on how the commission progress was coming along. I was told it would be done either by the end of that month or early in January 2016. By April I still saw no sign of the commission, so I asked if there was an ETA in sight, as one can see in one of the screenshots. The artist told me that she should be working on my commission "soon", since she would be working solely on commissions that month. I sent an email in June that never got a response, and again in July. After not getting a response I sent her an ask on Tumblr on August 10, 2016. It turns out that my emails ended up in her spam box, and she apologized profusely for this. She then told me she would get the commission done that day and send it to me that night, which is the only instance I've ever seen a definite time to expect a finished product. It is now the 14th of August, very close to a year after I first paid, and I have yet to see any sign of the commission. I feel it is also worth pointing out that the artist never initiated any conversations with me. I initiated every conversation, and I feel I have been largely left in the dark throughout this process. I sent a stern (still polite) email saying that I would like to have seen an explanation as to why the commission couldn't be finished in the given time. I don't mind waiting for a commission, but I expect better communication on the artist's part. I've also told the artist that I don't want to ask for a refund just yet, because I still have a small amount of faith that I will see the commission that I've been so eager to receive. I plan on updating this post once I receive a response. UPDATE: As of August 14, 2016 I *HAVE* received my commission, to my great relief. That being said, if you are patient you will get your commission eventually, but the communication quality leaves something to be desired. To reiterate, I don't mind having to wait for a commission and I understand that life happens, but I as a client I expect to be given a heads-up if my commission is going to take longer than expected.
  2. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/922190.html WHO: Jaykuma / DatPisces WHERE: NSFW http://www.jaykuma.deviantart.com/ NSFW https://www.furaffinity.net/user/datpisces/ WHAT: An art trade WHEN: 4 months ago we started talking, 3 months ago scheduled it to be 2 months ago, told today it was cancelled after doing part of mine and being ignored for two months PROOF: Agreement on the trade: http://i.imgur.com/y1FuipO.png and NSFW http://i.imgur.com/P8Eso5Q.png My completed work of the trade (about half of my part asked for) NSFW http://i.imgur.com/tgBSaNM.png Their cancellation http://i.imgur.com/OhY7X6U.png EXPLAIN: Jaykuma on deviantart/DatPisces on Furaffinity had agreed to an art trade with me 4 months ago. http://i.imgur.com/y1FuipO.png They said we'd need to schedule it to be a month later. http://i.imgur.com/WZiQB2i.png Fast forward a month and they say they're starting their half tomorrow at 2am Est. http://i.imgur.com/0iD45y2.png So we work out the specifics and I start working on my half of the trade. NSFW http://i.imgur.com/P8Eso5Q.png After a few days I contact them again with what I had finished (NSFW http://i.imgur.com/tgBSaNM.png) at which point they let me know that they haven't started but they'll be done with the first part by the end of the week (because they started playing Overwatch http://i.imgur.com/K85BRA9.png). I figure alright, I'll be patient. I wait 3-4 weeks and hear nothing back from them so I send a note saying it's been a while and asking if they're still active. They read it but don't reply. A couple of weeks later I send another note asking if they forgot to reply or is something up. They don't bother opening the message. After another month of them ignoring me I decide to message their DA account asking if they could get back to me on FA. They reply saying sorry but they need to cancel the trade because "I've been busy with patreon stuff". http://i.imgur.com/OhY7X6U.png Normally I don't care if a trade gets cancelled, stuff happens. However the "starting soon!" followed by being ignored for two months then cancelled after I already did the first half of my part so that they could play videogames is incredibly rude, especially since this was scheduled a month in advance followed by two additional months. EDIT 1: As comments here suggested I let Jaykuma/DatPisces know that they can pay me for the part I've done and asked if they'd do so. They decided to not answer the question and called my persistence in being compensated "annoying" and fed me a BS sob story. http://i.imgur.com/bGg3w3t.png In the 1-2 months before our scheduled start of the trade right up to the day they said they'd start there was zero mention of time problems. The only time this was mentioned as a problem is the moment he owed me art and it's an outright lie as right as we started the trade he spent over 100 hours playing Overwatch during that month alone. I sent another message asking again if they'd compensate me and it is currently being ignored. I know he's seen the message too which is immensely frustrating. At this point I'm done dealing with them and all I can really do is hope others read this before being treated like I have.
  3. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/892163.html WHO: Jace Wallace / Wakkawa WHERE: http://jace-wallace.deviantart.com/ & http://wakkawa.tumblr.com/ WHAT: $150 digital painting commission WHEN: November 26th, 2014; sketch received and payment sent December 12th, 2014 PROOF: Initial order: http://i.imgur.com/8VBVvr0.png http://i.imgur.com/szyi0dE.png Proof of payment: http://i.imgur.com/QV4EzFw.png EXPLAIN: Well, it's finally time for the official A_B post. I asked for advice back in June, and since the situation is more or less "resolved", it's time for me to put it all together and post this as a warning to others. I commissioned Jace at the end of November in 2014, the same day he put his commission post up. He's an art idol of mine and I'd wanted art from him for ages, so I jumped on the opportunity. He always seemed very professional to me, so a $150 commission seemed like a good idea at the time. The original commission post said they would be finished by Christmas (2014), and he sent me the sketch WIP on December 12th. http://i.imgur.com/Jy4btWg.png The WIP at this time: http://i.imgur.com/Vs5UUDe.jpg At that time, he said his plan was to send out more WIPs that weekend and have them finished the next week. http://i.imgur.com/TpYsWTe.png After that message claiming that WIPS would be sent out that weekend, I didn't hear from him again. In fact, he seemingly disappeared from the Internet altogether. Not too strange, possibly, considering it was the holidays. However, he had made a firm promise of a deadline, and with the commission being $150, I was a bit more wary than I normally might have been. I let the Christmas deadline come and go, but on January 10th I noted him asking for updates: http://i.imgur.com/keQ7LmU.png As it is still, it went unread and unopened. I continued not to see any activity on DA, Tumblr, or anywhere else. I was getting worried, mostly due to the $150 amount and the fact that I have been burned before. Since I hadn't seen him open my note, I decided to email him in hopes of getting an answer that way, on January 24th 2015: http://i.imgur.com/rvEROmB.png And I never got a response to that either. On January 30th, I sent Jace an email and a note on deviantArt telling him that I would be opening a Paypal claim. http://i.imgur.com/dDiUr7J.png As I say in the message, it was mostly to get the money back in case he was unable to access the computer as I didn't want to let Paypal's claim window come and go. Even with Paypal's claim window having been increased to 180 days, I felt uncomfortable enough to do it at this time given his complete lack of responsiveness. Jace must have seen the claim, for he mysteriously reappeared just a few days after I opened the claim. I received the next WIP on February 2nd, 2015. I cancelled the Paypal claim at this time, despite the fact that he made absolutely no note of it or that he had even seen it. http://i.imgur.com/S3umDjv.png The WIP he sent at this time: http://i.imgur.com/ZTqd2N0.jpg It was quite off putting to me that he made no mention of the claim or the wait much at all. But, then again, I felt a bit bad for filing the claim in the first place -- especially with his reasoning of mental illness. I figured, since he had given me an updated WIP, he would have the piece done pretty quickly. My response to him is here: http://i.imgur.com/kiuiFpu.png which he never responded to either. More radio silence. I sent him a note on May 15th, 2015: http://i.imgur.com/8gJHWmT.png to which I got no response. (I do believe he opened/read this note.) The next time I heard from him was in June of 2015, strangely and conveniently after I sent him a note telling him that I would be contacting my bank about the money (given that Paypal's claim window had then passed for me, by a few days) and posting an Artists Beware post about the situation. http://i.imgur.com/RXa81Ov.png (He was still active on tumblr during this time.) His response, with a slightly updated WIP: http://i.imgur.com/fwz0yd0.png The WIP at this stage: http://i.imgur.com/UHguQJN.jpg This was when I posted asking for advice on A_B. I was mostly just pleased to actually have him RESPONDING to me again, and at this point I assumed that if I went ahead and posted the A_B on him right then, I would NEVER get the piece. So I tried to get him to agree to a deadline. He then agreed to have the piece finished by the end of July, 2015. http://i.imgur.com/aIMFmDP.png http://i.imgur.com/YVLH7OX.png So, another month and it would be done. Obviously, that came and went. Surprisingly, he took the initiative to note me on his own on August 1st, telling me that his tablet had broken. (I had already seen him post about it on his Tumblr, which he was continuing to update regularly with paintings and posts.) Again, pleased that he was CONTACTING me and not ignoring me, I accepted his claim that he would have it done the next week. http://i.imgur.com/1Nk8ri2.png http://i.imgur.com/A3sUxI3.png Aaaand that didn't happen, either. He did not contact me again past that point, AT ALL. (I send him another note on September 3rd, 2015: http://i.imgur.com/BbhcdiY.png ) In fact, the only way I got him to contact me again was rather direct and annoying. On top of updating his Tumblr regularly while ignoring my messages, he had gotten into the habit of streaming quite regularly on his Twitch account. Sometimes games, sometimes painting personal works. I subscribed to the channel, and was receiving emails whenever he started streaming. At first I was just happy to see him working on something, and didn't interact with him. However, when he continued to ignore/"not see" my messages, I decided to bite the bullet and reach out to him during a Twitch stream. On October 25th, 2015, I entered his Twitch stream and inquired after my commission. He had his mic on, so I don't have a record of his responses, but here's the chat: http://i.imgur.com/jOrPowU.jpg Basically, he reassured me and told me a very long story about how he had gotten locked out of his DeviantART account AND the email account associated with it, so he hadn't been able to log in at all. He promised to email me after the stream. He sent me an email that night and he attached another WIP and claimed it was pretty much done, just needed to be cleaned up and tweaked. (Note: this was quite a small screenshot that didn't allow me to see closer details.) http://i.imgur.com/d7KZdbe.png My response: http://i.imgur.com/vW59uJl.png The WIP he sent at this stage: http://i.imgur.com/3kNQwSj.jpg And, again, that was the last I heard from him. I actually let him be for a while after that email, mostly due to how incredibly fed up I was at this point. Plus, he said it was close to being done, so I figured it wouldn't be long. Again, wrong. I emailed him on January 12th (3-4 months later) asking if he had any updates on the piece or on his situation. http://i.imgur.com/Lr2bYa6.png I got no response. He continued to be active on Tumblr, quite regularly posting text posts and art. So, on January 27th, I emailed him. http://i.imgur.com/1uUNoke.png Of course, I do realize asking for a refund at this point may seem out of line to some, but like I say in the email I figured it would be the easiest way to resolve it. I didn't want to wait around forever to get the finished piece and would have been satisfied with the file as-is and a partial refund, even 10% of 25%, ANYTHING so that I could FINALLY take it off my list and forget about the heartache. On January 28th, 2016, he emailed me and claimed the piece he had sent in October was the finished piece, minus the rendering of one hand. He then claimed he would send me the finished file as soon as he smoothed out the hand. As well as a quite P.A. comment about the fact that if this had been for a freelancing company, it would have cost me $2000. http://i.imgur.com/V2OP8si.png Half an hour later, he sent me the .psd of the 'finished piece'. It is almost entirely unchanged from the screenshot from October. And, to my dismay, it's quite rough and not as refined as the sample piece he used for his commission post. There's a part in one of the character's irises that bleeds into the eyelashes, really badly. The ear is a block of unrendered, unfinished painting. The male figure is very rough and untouched compared to the female figure. Overall, the entire thing is quite sketchy, quite unrefined, and quite unfinished -- when compared to his sample. At the very least, it is not what I would hope for after over a year of waiting for a $150 commission that had a much more refined example. Here is the final file he sent me: http://i.imgur.com/91E4qbU.png Note that it's barely changed (if at all) from the WIP from October. Over 3 months for that lack of work done on the piece. Here are some closeups of a few of the problem areas I identified: http://i.imgur.com/ePJmE2v.png http://i.imgur.com/FRBDd1n.png Again, here is the image he used in his commission post: http://i.imgur.com/t0PaIRP.jpg As it is, this situation is "resolved". I'm NOT happy with the piece, but I sincerely doubt he will ever give me any partial refund (the piece is, after all, 'finished' according to him) and I don't care to see how long it would take him to refine the piece more (I'd prefer not to wait another full year, really). And while I feel the end result is not in line with what he was offering, my complaint is about his unprofessionalism rather than the art itself. Art is subjective, and though I may not be happy with the piece, it is "finished" in his eyes. My gripe is his refusal to keep in touch, the constant ignoring of my messages, and the continuously broken deadlines. In the end, this is a beware to all other artists and commissioners out there. Do not commission Jace Wallace. I have no clue if he plans to ever open commissions again, but if he does, it's not worth it. This is hands down the most frustrating experience I have ever had with an artist. It's not even the year+ wait that bothers me -- I've waited that long before, I'll wait that long again. But EVERY time I attempted to contact him, I was ignored, unless I had made a direct claim that I would be pursuing action against him, or I approached him directly IN PUBLIC. (There were a few times when I commented on his submissions on DA or profile on DA, but he has hidden the comments at this point.) He set deadlines, and then he broke them with nary a word. He made excuses, avoided contact, and continued to be active on Tumblr regardless of the owed work. At least with other artists I've had this problem with, they disappeared entirely. With Jace, he was still active on Tumblr almost this entire time, just deliberately ignoring my messages on DA, Tumblr (where he was active, WHILE HE WAS ACTIVE) and via email. In the end, I feel disrespected, insulted, and disappointed - and I don't want anyone else to go through the same situation. EDIT: The final email he sent to me, after I submitted this A_B post and informed him I would be doing so.
  4. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/887741.html WHO: SilverDeni WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/SilverDeni http://silverdeni.deviantart.com , trade was agreed on in a stream WHAT: A very long overdue two-character art trade WHEN: The stream where we talked about a trade was sometime in December 2012, I don't have an exact date saved anywhere though. Sent notes to ask about the trade during the years, it's 2016 now and I have yet to receive even a sketch. PROOF: Notes/replies about the trade (I'm both Johis & Lhuin in these): Some notes/replies on FA after I sent her the finished painting. Hope these make sense, I'm honestly a bit confused with my inbox/outbox especially as it's been so long but basically I sent her the link to the finished painting, we talked about if the characters in her half of me and my partner's characters would be in anthro or feral form and she said she wants to make a speedpainting video of it. http://orig02.deviantart.net/b445/f/2016/005/c/3/deni9_by_lhuin-d9mty4z.png http://orig05.deviantart.net/bc6e/f/2016/005/c/9/deni7_by_lhuin-d9mtxeb.png http://orig15.deviantart.net/d253/f/2016/005/1/7/deni3_by_lhuin-d9mtxew.png http://orig05.deviantart.net/4d0a/f/2016/005/c/2/deni6_by_lhuin-d9mtxec.png http://orig10.deviantart.net/31a7/f/2016/005/9/0/deni4_by_lhuin-d9mtxer.png The last one was in May and I was feeling pretty hopeful after that (as you might be able to tell, I honestly thought I might finally see some work), but again, 7 months have passed and that was the last I heard of the whole thing. I never saw any of the attempts she mentions here. Now these are actually screenshots I found someone else had taken of the comments I've left on her page and her reply to me (so the red circles are not by me). It was mentioned in an issue unrelated to our trade itself that I stumbled upon but just thought it was interesting someone else had noticed it. The last one was a reply to a comment I made on her FA page just asking about the trade but I didn't save it: http://orig08.deviantart.net/0dbd/f/2016/005/d/1/deni1_by_lhuin-d9mtxf9.png I saw someone else had a similar issue so I jumped in to ask about mine http://orig12.deviantart.net/751e/f/2016/005/3/b/deni2_by_lhuin-d9mtxey.png She mentions a sketch here but I never saw it Sadly I've already removed the image from my FA gallery but here's proof of the date I made it: http://orig02.deviantart.net/b7d8/f/2016/005/0/0/deni5_by_lhuin-d9mtxem.png And an email where I sent the full res to her (2nd of January 2013): http://orig08.deviantart.net/32fe/f/2016/005/f/3/deni8_by_lhuin-d9mu05u.png EXPLAIN: I went to watch a stream SilverDeni was holding in late 2012 (like I said I don't have any proof of this date anymore and didn't think of saving any screenshots of this). She asked me for a trade and I was happy to accept as I liked her work. I made my own trade part shortly, but since then I've just been waiting and waiting for her half and every time I ask I just get a new estimate of when it'll be done and/or reasons she hasn't been working on it, but then that new estimated time of completion passes and I hear nothing until I ask again. I've been asking about the trade quite a few times during the years and have yet to seen anything at all, not even a sketch. I didn't spend any money on this, but I did spend quite a lot of time on the drawing and the experience has left a bad taste in my mouth as I was really excited about the trade - and the fact that most if not all the contact about this has been initiated by myself. I'm not expecting to see any work anymore, all my attempts to ask about it just end up in another empty promise. I know she's been busy with school etc. but has been doing plenty of personal art and other work. So just posting this as a heads up I guess. I'm kind of past the point of caring now when it comes to getting the art itself, but I just found the whole experience really unprofessional. I might have been a bit too forgiving in some notes as I really did want the trade and didn't want things to go sour. I was thinking of giving her a final nudge about it but I don't think it would have done any good based on the 3 years of communication (or lack thereof) and I'm a bit tired of hearing more empty promises.
  5. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/884272.html WHO: RenX (http://renxart.tumblr.com/ (NSFW)) aka Rnzzz (http://rnzzz.tumblr.com/ (NSFW) , http://rnzzz.deviantart.com/ (NSFW)) WHERE: http://www.hentai-foundry.com/user/RenX/profile (NSFW) WHAT: 2 Commissions. Traditional art. WHEN: Initial conversation and payment for both commissions during the beginning of April 2015. PROOF: The artist's mother tongue was Spanish so I contacted them in that for all our e-mail conversations. Here's (1) Me telling them when I can send the payment. And (2) Me the next day telling him I sent it. EXPLAIN: I started commissioning RenX in February last year. For the first couple of commissions he (and it is a he despite the profile) got things done on time and we had no problems. Starting from November 2014 I paid them for one drawing and it took them two months to get it done. In February this year I paid them for another commission again and, like last time, it took them nearly two months to finish the drawing. Still, I didn't think much of it in either case since I've dealt with multiple artists and I know sometimes they run into personal issues where they don't have time. The actual problems began in April this year. I asked RenX if he had time to do two commissions for me and he said yes, so I sent him the details for both and said I'd be paying him in a week. Within a few days he answered with a very rough sketch of one of the commissions and remained quick to answer until I sent the payment of $240 a week later. After the payment his answers completely stopped and he started ignoring my e-mails. I never got the sketch for the second commission either, which according to him he had already done. After over three weeks without an answer (I had sent him three e-mails in the meantime) RenX answers back in mid-May saying that he was busy and he'd have them done soon. Two more weeks pass with no answer and I finally send them one asking if I can get a refund. He answers back a few days later saying it's not possible because they no longer have money in their Paypal account, but that they'll do my commissions in June. [Proof] [Proof] June comes and goes with RenX not contacting me and only answering to the second e-mail I send at the end of the month, says he's too busy and hasn't had time to do anything. I answer them and for the rest of June and July I receive absolutely nothing. I didn't even waste any time sending them another e-mail until August since I knew it would be pointless. [Proof] In August I decide to check this site and see RenX still doing commissions like normal and advertising his services despite the fact that he has done nothing I paid him to. I finally decide to send him another e-mail mentioning this and they answer the same day saying, for the millionth time, that they have been too busy to do anything. I answer and once again they completely vanish until I send another e-mail at the end of August, which he answered at the beginning of September, telling the same old tale and saying that if he didn't do the commissions within a month he'd give me my money back. [Proof] I ask him when he can do the first commission and naturally, they do nothing and start ignoring my e-mails again. Around September I also checked his profile and noticed some people also wondering where their commissions were. I contacted one of them who told me they managed to get a refund through Paypal's Dispute system, unfortunately that wouldn't work for me since I had let too much time pass already. I was also in touch with another person who never got their commission completed either. In October, rather than e-mailing RenX I decide to post in his Hentai Foundry profile and he answers by e-mail the same day saying he had problems with his e-mails and that I should send him the commission details again. I ask for a refund again and he refuses. I send him the details for the drawings again to see if he'll get them done this time. On the same day I also notice he erased the comment I left on his profile alongside the others of two or three different people asking where their commissions were. Surprisingly, I actually get a sketch three days later and for a moment I think I'll get them done already. However, that's short lived and RenX vanishes completely again for the rest of the month. He sure spends a lot of time in his profile advertising discounts (and even in the Hentai Foundry forums (NSFW)) and mentioning he's open for more commissions, though! [Proof] Finally, in mid-November, after a month with no answer, I decide to post in RenX's profile again. My message is quickly erased and he blocks me from commenting [Proof] (NSFW). He e-mails me moments after repeating the same speech where they have been too busy. At this point I tell them again to give me a refund despite knowing nothing will happen and to no one's surprise he hasn't answered ever since. I don't know what's going on with them, but after 8 months there's no excuse for their behaviour. I posted this on the Hentai Foundry forums (NSFW) and I hope more people see it here and don't waste their time and money commissioning this person. He's all about reputation and stopping people from exposing him, the moment the latter happens he's quick to appear, delete any messages, block people and vanish again. Update, January 10th, 2016: I mentioned this some days ago in the comments but I reckon I should post it here instead - I contacted Paypal last week and they told me an investigation wouldn't be possible since it had been too long since the transaction. However, they did say they might begin one if they receive more complaints related to RenX. As of today, RenX still hasn't contacted me ever since the e-mail he sent in mid-November (11th of November, to be precise) that I mention in my entry. They're still taking and posting commissions, however.
  6. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/865113.html 8th October Update: I was chatting with some others about Rach today and decided to check her Trello and noticed my Card was moved to a section called Cancelled/Refunding as shown in this screenshot: http://imgur.com/ZHB4psq so having been almost 2 months since I last messaged her I decided I would ask her why and relayed this message: http://imgur.com/vPP8VLV hopefully she will get back. WHO: RachVerity WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/rachverity/ https://www.weasyl.com/~rachelleverity | https://inkbunny.net/rachykins http://rach-verity-sketchbook.tumblr.com/ | https://www.patreon.com/rachVerity?ty=h Commission List: https://trello.com/b/kDddOtiK/commissions-list WHAT: 3 x Flat Colour Commissions as detailed in this picture http://imgur.com/IruU17G WHEN: Paid on 22nd December 2014 PROOF: http://imgur.com/BANmRVV she even posts the details on her Trello she makes later on http://imgur.com/jIGqXOg which is clogged full of so many commissions. EXPLAIN: Being new to commissioning I wasn't sure if 2 months was a long time for some simple art so I sent a message on February 13th asking whats up: http://imgur.com/sjepU63, she replied with http://imgur.com/r0WdkpY. Okay, she's the artist, who am I to judge I don't draw so I don't know how long it could take. On April 28th I finally get notified via a shout on my page http://imgur.com/R27RiPh about one piece being done. I'm excited and happy to have some progress done however it was neither done as I requested or to my characters reference. (NSFW Content) Posted Image: http://imgur.com/NReJ8UA, my girls Ref: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11793824/ I'm grateful for getting back to me and I send her a message that same day: http://imgur.com/zm0pgUW to which she replies http://imgur.com/w0WfLnh so its nice to see she is taking responsibility for the mistakes and is happy to fix it. June 4th, I noted her: http://imgur.com/4rlMcLX, her reply: http://imgur.com/ezuYlR2 July 18th, I noted again: http://imgur.com/gOEG5hC, her reply: http://imgur.com/1oW7VXi Honestly I don't know what she meant by the last note but now I'm just sick of it. I'm sick of waiting, I'm sick of the excuses and I hate the fact that I have been forced to come here and make a post just to try and get something resolved. If you're not going to do my art Rach then refund my $60, I refuse to accept and use that art drawn as it was neither done to how I asked or to my characters reference. I'm sorry to have to bring this to A_B but I was left with no choice at this point as I feel like you have taken my money and ran. Thank you.

Service was friendly; the artist was approachable and seemed to be trying to endevouring to turn service around. A number of smaller commission (3 in total) were made to Kannos by Baybea previously. These commissions had a good turn around with no issues on the result and payment was requested only after the final image was ready. Due to having no credit card; Baybea uses my paypal account to make payments. Based on this positive experience Baybea then commissioned the Full Color Character Reference Commission. This was agreed on over Skype approximately October 2013; (No logs available - Baybea's Skype logs only go back about 6 months due to a laptop rebuild). Either during this commission request discussion or around the same time on Skype Kannos made mention of financial issues. Baybea responded by paying for the commission up front instead of only after image completion. Payment was accepted by Kannos (proof above). Starting the 8th of November; Kannos over two journals linked about ("Birthday.." and "Thanks." describes some financial distress which including a charge back from Paypal of around ~1200USD; leaving their paypal account in the negative by ~900USD. To alleviate this issue a day later on the 10th of November Kannos starts a 2 Character Realism Auction - ANYTHING GOES as an emergency commission. It is noted payment is required before the 18tth of November to cover car payments. Encouraged by Baybea (due to her positive experiences with Kannos and what seemed a friendly rapport) I request Baybea to bid on the auction for myself; bidding up to the minimum required for full body pieces. Over email I note I need time to get the required information together for this commission however to make sure the car payment is not missed I would pay up front. This transaction is completed on the 13th November (see above). Unfortunately at this point I have both a combination of health and work issues that prevent me from returning to Kannos with all the required information to complete this information until approximately April 2014. During this time Baybea keeps in contact with Kannos over updates to her full character commission every couple of months. More issues affect Kannos life which are reported on IB via journals. However Kannos would regularly promise sketches of the initial reference sheet normally within the next week (usually after the following weekend). None of these promises were fulfilled. Progress is apparently being made on Baybea's Character Reference but either due to location or other personal issues Kannos is not able to show any updates to Baybea. This continues after I have given Kannos all the information for my requests via email. Requests for updates now include my commission as well; again with promises of sketches in a week or so time. Requests for updates by Baybea start to not get responded to on both Skype and IB. After over a month of no response at the end of May 2014 I request contact by Kannos with 72 hours or I would consider Kannos to have no intention of fulfilling the commission. As the 72 hour deadline hit I finally managed to get Kannos on Skype on the 2nd of June 2014 (once again unfortunately my Skype logs are unavailable due to computer rebuild about 8 months ago). I note I am unsatisfied by the lack of responses and also the multiple promises of sketches. During this conversation I note I am an administrator for a number of Furry websites and communities (by this point I know they have already been banned from FA). Kannos responds by explaining they are currently under a large amount of stress due to personal issues; they promise to catch up on the outstanding sketches. I agree to not proceed with any further action at this point. Kannos then Skypes with Baybea noting that I upset them and they are uncomfortable with dealing with me further as they are worried I will "do" something to them. It is agreed that Baybea will act as the point of contact from this point forward so long as Kannos keeps with regular updates. 16th Aug 2014, 8:38pm - 19th Feb 2015, 9:37am - IB - Private Message Conversation from OLD account Kannos The above IB private message log pick up at this point. Over the remaining months Kannos continues to make promises of updates after exceedingly long gaps of no communication despite update requests. 21st Feb 2015, 6:51pm - present - IB - Private Message Conversation from NEW account Kannosart On the 21st of February Kannos contacts Baybea on a new IB account "Kannosart". The reason given by Kannos is that they are having problems logging into their other account "Kannos". Baybea responds by noting that and requesting an update on everything with a note that she is having pressure placed on her to see some of the promised sketches. After nearly a month of no response on the 19th of March Kannos responds with: "Sorry I don't have time for commissions anymore with work, I'm going to have to cancel it." Baybea acquiesces Kannos' cancellation request and proceeds to note the amounts needed to refund both Baybea and myself with the Paypal account used (mine in both cases). Kannos after 10 days responds on Saturday 28th March with: "I don't have the money to refund. I'm barely able to afford rent 😕 rant about me to A_B all you want I don't care anymore." Baybea then notes Kannos response; notes that she would have been happy to work out a payment scheme but will do as Kannos requests and also look into legal options. She then also notes she would advise myself of the response. It is therefore with some disappointment that we arrive here. UPDATE - 2015-04-11: The account "Kannosart" on IB has been determined by IB staff to be an impostor. Baybea has responded to a journal post by the original "Kannos" account to contact via email and is following up.
  8. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/830804.html WHO: Thug on FA / Monsterites on tumblr / Monsterite on dA WHERE: I commissioned them on their FA account [ Thug ] but they seem to have abandoned it. They have accounts on dA ( Monsterite ) and on tumblr ( monsterites ) and weasyl ( thug ) WHAT: Digital bust of my character, 20 usd in value, to be completed in 2-5 weeks or so. WHEN: I commissioned them on 10th of October, and paid on the same date. I've not received any contact from them since 19th of November 2014 despite my attempts at contacting them and posts on tumblr stating they would be getting in touch with customers. Proof and explanation under cut. PROOF: Commission journal on FA: http://s20.postimg.org/xle6h2w3h/ab_2.png My note to them/them accepting my commission: http://s20.postimg.org/mxafi8m4d/ab_3.png Proof of payment: http://s20.postimg.org/gobbjfke5/ab_1.png Unread note on FA: http://s20.postimg.org/yi6tkq3gd/ab_4.png EXPLAIN: I commissioned thug on 10th of October for a bust; initially everything went well. The original turnaround time stated on the journal [x] was about weeks, but "may be as long as a month." I paid and began waiting. After a month I had not heard anything from them, not even a "this will take longer than expected", so I shoot them a pm: http://s20.postimg.org/jq23tdxj1/ab_7.png The note got read but I received no reply, so I sent them another PM a week later: http://s20.postimg.org/atrbpg6wt/ab_6.png This time they replied and told me they had a chaotic time real life, and told me they had a sketch for me and could work a stream. I declined this offer, because I too have a spotty schedule and from my understanding we also live on different time zones. They did not offer to show me the sketch and I didn't have the sense to ask it as I was under impression they'd already started and could finish it on a timely schedule, so this is my bad and I have no proof they have even started my artwork. On December 3rd I sent them another note where I simply asked if they could e-mail me instead of using notes on FA. This note is still unread and they have no recent activity on FA, leading me to believe they have abandoned the account. They gave me no other means of communication. Towards the mid/end of December I decided I would try and find the artist on other sites just to see if they were alright. I went to their tumblr and decided to see if they have finished and posted my artwork on tumblr and just forgotten to tell me (it would not be the first time this has happened to me) and found out they had posted this [x] promising to contact/refund everyone if they had not finished art by the 1st of Jan. Satisfied with this I decided to just wait. I received no contact from then on 1st of Jan, but decided to wait some time before contacting them, just in case. February came and I became a bit anxious over the fact they had not contacted me despite these several [x] post [x] on tumblr. I sent them an ask on tumblr [I have no proof of this as tumblr message system is really bad 😞 ] A few days later they had had activity on the site and I had received no reply or contact from them. I sent them a new ask, and also decided to go and check my PayPal receipt, and found their e-mail addresses. I sent them this e-mail to both of their addresses. It's been a month since and I have yet to receive a reply. I've sent one more ask to their tumblr, which has not been answered. I have no idea how to contact them -- I don't want to pressure them too much, but not receiving any kind of communication from them when they have repeatedly promised to contact customers is making me think they have forgotten about me, and even if they have not received any of my messages they still have my FA they could use to contact me. From what I understand their rl if pretty hectic at times, but I don't feel like this excuses the complete lack of communication. At this point I'd rather have a refund than the art, but if they have started the art already and would just contact me I would gladly take the art too. I had not problems waiting, but I do have problems with the utter lack of personal communication, posting on tumblr (which I don't follow) instead of directly contacting me and promising to contact people and then not contacting me. I have not been able to contact this artist for several months despite them being active, and since accepting commission I've only received one message from them. EDIT: Shortly after this post went live, the artist has contacted me and issued me a refund! The matter is now resolved.
  9. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/829508.html It's really disheartening to have to come forward with this report, but after having patience and trying to negotiate with the artist, I have begun to feel like I had no choice on this matter, especially after many people have instructed me to come forward. I apologize for this post being very long; I wanted to make sure I included all the details I possibly could. Who/Where: Fursuit Maker: Frostcat-Studio / Ritz_Bitz / Ritz_Tweeting When I originally considered looking into getting my first fursuit, I had only heard of this maker through the recommendation of a mutual friend. From looking at their gallery, they seemed to have very nice work and I was given the impression that they could provide me with similar work. What: One Partial Fursuit ($1200) I had originally contacted Ritz for a fursuit in June of 2014 and on June 27th we agreed to a price of $1200 to make my partial, which included a large tail and also a set of wings. Here you can see Ritz had offered to add a magnetic feature to the wings so they could be worn under a shirt with a harness and I was charged and extra $170 for this addition. ->The email can be viewed here <- (Our conversation is very casual as we had been united through a mutual friend) On September 20th 2014, I confirmed my slot and placed my 50% down payment. -> Link for Proof <- (Ritz real name has been blanked) Then, on November 25th 2014 I paid my remaining $600. (The screen shot shows a total of an additional $1200 as I also paid off the remaining $600 on the mutual friend's balance to help them out. That amount is not related to my entry) -> Link for final Payment Proof <- Explain: At first, Ritz kept very good communication when working on my fursuit and seemed interested in making it "just right". She replied to my inquires often and kept reliable contact with me, even sending me work in progress images from time to time. While I would get pictures, I never really was sure what I was looking at in terms of what she had been doing; I was never given any explanation and was issued vague descriptions, which is possibly my fault for not speaking up on but I had never commissioned a suit before and felt I should place my trust in the maker to do their job. The first red flag that came to me was when she would inquire about my second payment and instead of contacting me directly, she would ask the mutual friend to remind me on her behalf. This really struck me as odd given the mutual friend was not working for Ritz and my contact information was established prior. I ended up ignoring my gut on this issue given the mutual friend was close to both of us and since this was a friendly transaction, I considered it to just be another casual aspect of the entire affair. Ritz proposed the completion date (By Further Confusion 2015) and said that having it complete by this time would be no issue, so I planned to attend this convention so I could have a good time fursuiting for the first time. Overall, the anticipation building for this costume was immense as I would be flying in from Florida to attend the convention in California just to have a chance to wear it for the first time. On January 4th (approximately 10 days before the convention), I was shown images of my completed fursuit via Twitter and Skype. The images were not close ups or anything, so from first appearances I was excited. While it wasn't the quality I had expected, I was still excited to have a costume regardless. I should take responsibility for my qualms with the quality as when browsing her gallery I had not noticed the suits that stood out to me were all built on headbases made by other fursuit makers when mine would be built from scratch; That being said my expectations for what I would receive were not completely accurate and it was my fault for not researching further. Regardless, I told her I was happy with it visually and was eager to wear a fursuit for the first time. Overtime, I ended up coming into a disagreement with the mutual friend who had connected Ritz and I for the commission and we began to grow apart. I didn't think it would effect my commission with Ritz in anyway, but later on I would find it was quite the opposite. (This is only important to note as it will become relevant later on.) Originally, the suit was going to be shipped to the mutual friend and delivered to me at the convention however due to (what I can only assume to be) rising tension, the mutual friend opted not to deliver the costume to me. Given I was flying in from across the country, I asked a friend from Southern California to have it shipped to them instead since they would be driving to the convention. The friends who ended up having the fursuit shipped to them did not open the box in any way until they found me at the convention and I opened it myself. January 15th When I made it to the convention, I met up with my friends from Southern California (I was also rooming with them) and they had my fursuit box in the hotel room waiting for me. At first glace, I was already very upset. The box was very poorly packaged and looked very ragged. I would have thought it could have been mangled by the postal service but it seemed the degrading box was actually taped up in areas where it was falling apart and that tape was laid beneath the original packing where the shipping information was. It was very clear that Ritz reused a battered and trashed box to ship my $1200 product and my concern began to grow before I had even seen the costume. Upon opening the box, the first thing that was staring at me was a foot paw that was falling apart. The box had just been opened and the suit was already damaged in quite visible ways. Thankfully, I had a room full of witnesses that helped me gather pictures of the unboxing. Here is a visual collection of the damages that we discovered. -> The footpaws were separating from the shoes (That I had to purchase myself and ship to her) before they were ever worn. -> The bottom Jaw and horns were crooked and the head was barely foamed so it would lose it's shape when not worn. -> The seam in the fur on the direct center of the muzzle was popped despite never having been worn yet. -> The balaclava was not attached with only a few tiny dabs of hot glue and separated from the foam and also has various holes in it. -> In fact, the Balaclava had MANY holes in it. -> The fur on the hand paws was poorly shaved and some of the claws were upside down. -> The shave job was uneven and jagged. -> And in some places, the fur was shaved all the way down to the backing. Now, as you can imagine, I was not very pleased to open the box and discover the suit was in such a mess after never being worn. Some of the mistakes I saw were very common from beginner suit makers however I was given the impression that Ritz was NOT a new maker and had enough experience to warrant the $1200 price tag (which could buy a partial from many makers who would not have made these mistakes). On top of all these issues, I discovered that the set of wings I had ordered for this costume did not feature any magnetic attachments at all. Instead, the wings were sewn directly into a harness made from elastic straps, making it impossible to wear them without having the harness worn on top of my clothes. This was also very upsetting given Ritz had offered to make this feature for me and charged me an additional $170 for it, yet never once mentioned to me during the construction process that they would no longer be doing the magnet idea. I immediately decided to contact Ritz as she was at the convention and perhaps she could do enough quick fixes so I could at least wear my fursuit; I did fly in from across the country just to wear it around afterall. I didn't mind waiting on fixing the other issues, but I at least wanted some help fixing the shoes. I decided to contact our mutual friend to get in touch with Ritz because I had no other way to reach her at the time. We met up and I explained what the problems were and she agreed to get the feet fixed. We went to Ritz's hotel room and she did a quick hot glue job on the paws with me standing there. It was not very thorough but it seemed like it was enough to keep them together for the time being. I also had the chance to ask about the missing magnets and she explained that there were no magnets strong enough to hold the wings in place (which isn't true since you can order some that can hold up to 75lbs!) so she opted to sew them to the harness without informing me to meet the tight deadline. After Ritz "fixed" the feet, I went back to my hotel room and decided to wear my suit as it was to try and enjoy the convention. The next morning, I went to participate in the fursuit parade and that was when the fur on my foot paws began to separate again; this time on both feet. Additionally, the buckram connected to the plastic to make the eyes began to separate and peel from the plastic. This was also when I noticed that the plastic has been hastily cut and there were strands of of debris going into the space where my actual eyes were. After the parade, I found Ritz again to show her what was happening with my brand new suit and she seemed very disinterested in my issues. When I brought attention to the issue with the eye popping out, both Ritz and the mutual friend (whom was with her the entire con) began to give me sass and snark about not being "too rough" with the costume then walked off without making any attempt to help me with the situation. I was pretty appalled at this reaction given I paid so much money for a costume to wear and was basically being told not to wear it if I didn't want it to fall apart. I had been just wearing the suit like any normal person would, I wasn't jabbing the eyes in with my finger or anything for goodness sake. It was at this point the mutual friend decided to get involved and began sending me text messages that said I was being rude and "mean" to Ritz for contacting her about these issues and the issues in question were not her fault. Why was the suit maker's friend getting involved and handling this situation? This had nothing to do with them so why were they acting as a messenger for Ritz? At this point, I was given the very strong impression that Ritz no longer wanted to provide me with any help for the costume, so in order to make it wearable I asked for the help of my friends (I was rooming with) to help me do minor repairs. I was forced to go out and buy a glue gun and ask a friend to cut time from her convention experience to keep the suit intact. During the time we spent fixing it, we also began to see even more issues with the craftsmanship. -> The zipper on the back of the head was glued to the fur instead of sewn and began to separate. -> The horns were discovered to have no foam to anchor them, explaining why they were crooked. I think the majority of my convention time was spent with a friend trying to repair this costume. We were absolutely sure not to modify anything, just attempt to repair the poor craftsmanship. After a certain point, my friend explained to me that we should stop repairing it all together because the state it was in just couldn't be saved at a convention. I attempted to contact Ritz once more via twitter DMs to try and show her the state of the suit before the end of the convention but she unfortunately decided to start ignoring me. I was polite and kind because I wasn't mad as much desperate to fix these issues. It was such a frustrating experience because I just wanted some resolution for this costume that I spent a large sum of money on and the person who sold it to me made me feel like they had zero concern for the situation now that the money was already in their hands. To make things worse, a few hours later Ritz began tweeting about me to try and detract from my issues, implying that I was picking on them because I had a disagreement with the mutual friend. This was just the end to my willingness to work with this fursuit maker anymore and I ended up sitting in tears while friends comforted me. One of my friends began discussing things with Ritz on twitter because it very strongly felt that she would not be dealing with me beyond this point and Ritz began stating that the problems with the costume were not actually there nor her fault and began to explain that the situation had very much been influenced by my falling out with the mutual friend. My friend then decided to take the conversation with her in private and they discussed the situation because Ritz still would not talk directly to me. During the private conversation with my friend, Ritz admitted to rushing my fursuit and stated that she could not afford to refund the costume but would work out a plan after the convention to make things right. She also stated that it was "shitty" or me to not want repairs at this point and called it unreasonable. I may be unreasonable for not wanting repairs, but I don't trust this individual with my money anyone given these problems would not exist if the care needed was put in to begin with not to mention the constant avoidance with my problems. I did not feel this person wanted to fix things correctly. After Ritz had conversation with my friend, it was decided that after the convention she would absolutely talk to me about the problems with the costume and find a resolution. (I can provide screen shots of this entire conversation if necessary, however I opted to leave them out initially as so my friend would not be dragged into the issue. I firmly believe this should have stayed between Ritz and myself and the constant involvement from third parties has really caused more drama than needed.) January 20th (2015) Two days after the convention, Ritz contacts me on Skype and begins trying to work out a situation from the suit. She begins by offering me two options; One is to send the suit back for repairs or I can send the suit to be stripped and turned into a different character that she can sell. She tells me that I can not be refunded 30% of the fursuit cost as the cost of the materials can not be returned. Despite finding that option to be very unfair (given I would be returning the suit to her so she could recoup her losses and the reason for refund was not a cancellation but rather the product was broken and the fault was hers), I agreed and stated that after all that had happened and the personal involvement of her friend causing tension I did not want it refurbished; I just wanted a refund. She also explains to me that she -can not refund me at all- until I return the suit and she resells it, thus leaving my money weighing on the uncertainty of weather or not the suit sells and if it does, would it sell for the $800 she says I am owed? She insists she will not refund money until I send the suit back, however that was understandable and we agreed. She also mentions at the same time that she will send $200 refund in "good faith" (that I have never since seen). I am kind and understanding with her and even apologetic for the situation that unfolded despite being at no fault myself. I wanted to make things right and I felt bad that she had spent the last few days tweeting about never wanting to make suits again. I felt guilty for the distress I put her through so I even said I would think about letting her repair the suit after she pushed that option on me constantly (despite saying I did not want it). She additionally admits to her friend's presence having effected her business with me and even the way she treated me as a customer, which sent even more red flags to me, but she genuinely seemed like she wanted to make things right so I did my best to return it. Her main concern throughout the entire conversation was her name and reputation, which seemed very off-putting given I felt her main concern should have been to fix the situation with my costume. -> Conversation can be found here <- January 30th (2015) About ten days after our conversation, I gave Ritz my final decision. I took note to how stressed she was over the decision and gave her time to come down from the ordeal. I politely explained to her that I did not feel comfortable sending her the suit and waiting for her to resell it before I would receive any money. I stated that I would gladly return the suit after I was refunded and left it at that. -> Link to Conversation <- The Next day, Ritz replies to me stating that she can not refund me for the amount I am owed until I return the suit in parts for her to resell and asks for a week to figure something out. She explains that she will use her tax refund to pay me the money I am owed and I reassure her that I can wait for a refund as long as it needs to be. My main concern is still that I do not want to return the goods until I am compensated for them. This is when her contact slows to a grinding halt. She openly begins to dodge my communication and puts me on the back burner and does not contact me in any way unless I put an effort into contacting her. February 12th I end up contacting her as it has been nearly two weeks since her last contact with me. Again, I am civil and I calmly ask what the game plan is for the situation. On February 14th I get a reply in which she states that her tax refund was small and she would not be able to refund me from that money. She also goes back on her word in stating that she would refund me and takes an aggressive tone, calling our agreed upon solution to be "unfair" and says that my failure to trust her is preventing me from getting my money back. Now, I'm going to throw some personal opinion in here but...how am I being unfair? She agreed to refund me and suddenly is changing her tune and even going as far as to insinuate that this situation is my fault for "not trusting her". The problem is, I already trusted her with $1200 to deliver a product to me in functioning order. She not only failed to do that, but she also insulted me, ignored me and went as far as to try and claim her faulty craftsmanship (which she admitted to) was -my- fault. Yes, I do not trust her with giving me my money back and I will not relinquish the costume until I am given a refund. I am not asking for both the suit and a refund, I am asking to be compensated -before- I give up the costume. The artist's financial issues are not my concern, what is my concern is the money that she had taken from me and will not return. -> This reply can be viewed here <- She has dodged contact with me and has put me in a situation where I am not sure if I am going to have this situation resolved. On February 17th, I contacted her asking for her to talk to me when I was online as I didn't enjoy playing message tag when the subject was so important. I tried once more on the 18th to reach out and beg for conversation on the topic and reaffirmed my stance about her taking back the product to resell. I even went as far as to offer my phone number to try and resolve the issue but she had left me in the dark, all while spending time on twitter and talking to other people on skype. I am fully aware I am being ignored and it's gotten to the point where I am getting ready to file a charge back on paypal if this doesn't get resolved soon. -> Proof of contact attempts <- (screen shots were taken on 2/18/2015) 2/21 - Ritz contacted me in response to my final message in which I explained that I felt that I didn't believe it was fair to charge me for materials when I would be returning the suit for her to recoup that loss and because the issue with the costume was not due to cancellation or error on my end. I admit that I did change my mind in terms of the refund I was willing to accept though the advice of many friends and other artists swayed my mind. I did agree that taking a partial refund for having zero product on an issue that was no fault of my own felt very wrong, but I may be out of line for having brought that up and changing my stance I take responsibility for that. She responded aggressively, again cursing at me and using profanity. I was given a "final option" in which I was told I will wait until she gets her tax refund after I return the broken merchandise she had given me before I will receive any financial compensation. I don't feel that this is ever a way an artist or suit maker should ever talk to or treat a client, but maybe I am bitter and misinterpreted her reply as more rude than it actually was. I politely asked her to calm down because her abrasive reply felt very flustered and asked her to give me a phone call so we can figure things out. She explains that she can't handle phone calls due to anxiety so despite it being a difficult work around for me (my work generally keeps me very busy) I understand her position and tell her I can easily wait for her to finish helping a friend move out. She asks me if I would "actually want to resolve this civilly" which struck me as rude given I don't feel I have been anything but? - > Conversation <- As of now, it is 2/27/15 and we have not resolved the issue at all. I feel like I am constantly being fed excuses, ignored and just treated very poorly in general and as a customer that paid $1200 for a costume that is barely wearable, I feel like this shouldn't be the case? I just feel like I'm stuck in a run around and I can't help but think I'm not doing the wrong thing? This is the first time I've ever commissioned a fursuit so perhaps my inexperience is what keeps this situation from being resolved? I'd be happy to take fault if I knew what I was doing wrong! I'm hoping that in posting this entry, I can warn people about this maker's shady business practices, lack of professionalism and lack of concern for their customers. I'm also hoping this may be the final nudge needed to get Ritz to acknowledge me and resolve the situation before I file for a charge back on Paypal. $1200 is quite a sum of money to be over drafted and I would absolutely prefer not to financially break this artist. I just want resolution, I want her to give me a game plan and show concern for the situation and give me a refund for the broken product she gave me. EDIT: 3/4/2015 On the day this entry had been posted, Ritz returned from attending an Anime convention and contacted me. She has posted the caps herself below, however just to be sure, here is the gist of what was said: -> Conversation <- While yes, she did offer to refund me $800, she also went on to bring up unexpected bills she mentioned on twitter and debts which made me feel extremely guilty in accepting any money from her when her personal life needed the money so much more. As I have said countless times, I am not out to be a bully in any way; I just want a refund for the broken costume I was given. Later in the day while I was at work, Ritz confronts me on skype with this: I wasn't even aware the entry had been posted at that point as I was on patrol at work (I am a police officer) and she begins getting aggressive on me, stating that she thought this was resolved and saying she was insulted. For one thing, this post was made days prior when I had not yet received any contact, secondly I would never consider this issue to be revolved until the money is in my hands and the fursuit was in hers. At this point, she offers me a NDA Contract because she no longer "trusts" me for having made this entry. Ritz is well aware that I have now requested a full $1200 for my refund because as others have mentioned here, I should not take a material cost loss when the issues with the transaction were not my own. The contract is incredibly damaging for me in which is states that I am unable to speak of the event in public or to third parties and states that Ritz may deduct from my refund if she is unable to sell the broken suit she crafted. I have screen capped the contract issued to me (I had to censor our names) and would like AB's input. -> The NDA/Contract I was offered <- (Ritz is the first party where as I am the second) I do not feel comfortable having to sign a contract to have the money I am owed returned to me; I feel like this is a form of blackmail in order to try and silence me if I want the money I am owed back, furthermore the amount offered is not what I am requesting. I want a full refund and that is what I am standing firm on, especially if Ritz is going to refurbish and sell the broken merchandise I was sold. I do not feel fit signing a binding legal agreement that states I am unable to make "any other online postings about the other party" I am additionally saddened by Ritz response here in the community claiming I have falsified any documentation in this entry and went as far as to accuse me of Libel and Slander within the proposed contract. I have not fabricated any of the content within this journal nor would I have had to should I received a functioning product to begin with. I also asked a few friends to review the contract that was presented to me, to which Ritz stated I should never do unless I approach a lawyer. I am in disbelief I was scolded for asking for input before signing a binding legal contract and that made me feel like Ritz knowingly attempted to shaft me. Additionally, while discussing the public image Ritz has gained from this entryI was suddenly confronted with Ritz's fiance (who could not bother to spell my name correctly). I expressed to him that I have no interest in talking to him about the transaction and want Ritz to be present. She returns and demands I resolve this tonight -> Conversation <- At this phase, I am done playing games with Ritz. I am tired of being treated like a bully or a bad guy when I have done all I can to be agreeable and helpful with this situation. My job requires a very taxing amount of my time and I can't be bothered to jump through hoops anymore. I have issues Ritz a final statement and that is where I am leaving it. I will not be accepting any amount under the original $1200 I have paid and if a resolution is not reached within the week, I will be filing a charge back OR if that fails I will be taking legal action. Ritz has proven to me that her reputation takes precedence above her clients and that is why I can not be bothered to be involved in her personal financial matters or give leniency anymore. -> My final statement to her about the matter <- At this point, this issue is not resolved despite Ritz claiming it to be so on social media. Edit 2: Ritz has now hidden her twitter from public view due to her initiating issues with people discussing this entry and claiming she was harassed. I do not support anyone causing her trouble on social media and I have not encouraged any of that behavior. Edit 3: Approximately one hour after I had amended this entry with the NDA they proposed to me, Ritz contacted me again and negotiated a refund. Her reply was as unprofessional as the rest and was of course not without an attempted guilt trip. She assumed my commentary about conventions and ski trips were about money when in reality it was about her lack of contact with me (in the cases where I was told she was too busy to negotiate with me). After accusing me of harassment and reminding me about her tax refund, I was asked to give her my paypal and complied. Despite constantly being told that she could not afford to refund me in full, I was suddenly sent the full amount of $1200. This left me a bit unsettled, however I wasn't going to ask any more when I got what I had requested. I have informed her that I would alter the entry and mark the situation as resolved. I will also be shipping the fursuit back to her this week and will edit the entry one last time to prove I have made good on my end of the bargain. I want to thank the Artist's Beware community for it's insight and help on dealing with this situation. This community is a valuable resource and I am glad to have been able to use it. As far as this entry goes, while it is now resolved I would still consider it a more than valid beware. I think the entry speaks for itself and down to the very end this maker could not handle a professional attitude. I also want to note that this suit will be refurbished and relisted for sale, so buyer beware in the future. I am very disappointed that things between this maker and I had to come to this. I was very polite and willing to work with them to accommodate their own situations if they would help me with mine and that refusal just made it impossible. Ultimately, it was not the desire to right a wrong that got me my refund, it was the desire to salvage their reputation that finally made a nearly two month long ordeal come to a close. If the maker had just shown the same concern for me as a client as they did for their reputation, this post wouldn't have had to be made. EDIT: 3/6/2015: The fursuit has been shipped to Ritz. I can provide a tracking number to the entry if needed and also visual documentation was taken to provide proof the suit was shipped in the most protective way possible, including the individual parts being bagged to prevent weather damage to eliminate any claims proper care was not taken.
  10. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/826160.html EDIT: i've been refunded. they contacted me saying they lost my refs, but i asked for a refund instead which they gave me- this can be marked as resolved! --- WHO: http://827772.deviantart.com/ WHERE: http://827772.deviantart.com/ they also have a twitter that is listed publically on their deviantart account profile which is how i've been contacting them since their hiatus: https://twitter.com/taraopta even though my twitter was set to protected and currently is set as such, they do have my deviantart account to send me my art/or reply, and as stated in the explain portion, i did change my twitter from being protected for several days in waiting for a reply, giving them a chance to. WHAT: a couples fullbody image that ended up being $28. i split the payment with a friend but handled the transaction by myself. WHEN: i ordered the commission october 10th 2014, and i contacted her over twitter in january 20th 2015 after noticing there was a hiatus status on their deviantart, and have been in the dark since the beginning of february waiting for some sort of response. PROOF: payment: http://i.imgur.com/aAi6tQa.png attempted dispute: http://i.imgur.com/BPBI9fV.png someone told me i should dispute it even though it'd be automatically closed for paypal's records if i need to take this to the business bureau. EXPLAIN: on october 10th i commissioned a couples fullbody from them, this is the entirely of my note of our back and forths with confirmation of payment sent. when i commissioned her, i was under the impression that even though she has more than 3 people ahead of me, that 'i'll start as soon as i'm paid' meant maybe she wasn't working fully in order like it shows on her profile, and i was in no rush either way because i've had pleasant commissioning experiences with them before. sometime in mid/late january i was prompted by the friend the commission was initially split between, saying it had been a long time since commissioning and i agreed. i looked at their deviantart and saw 'hiatus' on their da profile, but they never let any of the commissioners know, either through notes or a journal about this hiatus. of course, classes were starting back up, but a headsup would've been nice since at this point i had already been waiting 3-ish months, i hadn't really noticed but i decided to try twitter since i was most active there vs. tumblr, and 82772 seemed active there as well and it just felt like a better alternative to try. so, i sent her a tweet and we talked back and forth. i was okay with waiting a week for the art i was patient and actually had hope they'd get it done. i waited, and waited... and waited... and then before i knew it, it had been almost 3 weeks (making it almost 5 months of a wait and a lack of communication). at the time i had gone private on twitter but occasionally went on and off private specifically to message them and gave it a day or two not on private while they were still active, and not responding. honestly, i would've been direct messaging them but it's something you can only do with people that follow you back mutually, so i had to do this and i did maybe like? 2 times tops throughout the 3 weeks i was waiting for my art as to not be pushy but i was also growing frustrated. they were quick to respond to that tweet on january 20th, so i don't understand why they decided not to with the ones i sent afterwards after the start of february, especially when they're constantly posting to twitter and there's no way they're not seeing my tweets to them. so, i'm under the impression they're ignoring me and i have sent them a tweet stating if they didn't reply in a week i would be posting this. so.. here we are, this is pretty much a last resort since i've given them enough time to even respond to me. i would prefer the money over the art since i could use it for someone more reliable... honestly, i'm not sure i'm going to try and fight $28 as it may be more stress than it's worth, but i am disappointed because it was supposed to be for myself and a friend and i've commissioned her before and recieved my art promptly though that was in the summer and they probably weren't as busy as they may be now, but that's really no excuse. i don't understand why this is such a problem, but i don't think i'll be commissioning them in the future if this is how it's gonna go with trying to communicate.
  11. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/781718.html This is a follow up to this post as a few people expressed interest in a full beware. Some information is missing due to it happening last year and I'd like to apologize for that in advance. If there's any information needed I'll try my hardest to dig it up, otherwise I'll be trying my best to recount what happened as accurately as possible. EDIT: Both the Chyuu account and character have been sold to two different people who are not part of this beware, this is only about the user Sibyl. WHO: Chyuu/Sibyl. WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/chyuu (apparently abandoned), http://chyuukitty.tumblr.com, http://www.furaffinity.net/user/sibyl. WHAT: A commission done in the style of the Animal Crossing series, the completed commission can be found here. WHEN: Commission was accepted September 23rd 2013, and payment was sent on the same day. Commission was completed on October 3rd. PROOF: -The original journal -Chyuu expressing interest in a slot -The completed form -I sent an invoice, and Chyuu said they would pay in a few hours -More info in the explain section, if a paypal screencap is required I can try to find it EXPLAIN: As you can see in the proof section, I opened AC-style commissions on September 23rd last year, Chyuu expressed interest in one and ordered a slot, they filled out the form I provided and I sent them an invoice for payment. This is when the trouble first started. -I received this note a few hours after Chyuu's previous reply. On its own I found the note condescending at most but looking back I can see it was my first warning sign. I explain that Paypal could track my account through my username and I was simply protecting myself. (I should add that I don't do nsfw work anymore but still don't include my usernames in notes just to be safe). I started to get suspicious at this point due to them claiming they were on a low budget yet had ordered other art, but this was none of my business so I didn't mention it. -I expected them to send payment after this but the invoice was still unpaid, so sent a follow up note a while later reminding them. I received this reply, the sudden change in tone threw me off a little but they did pay their invoice. -The note with their completed commission. I want to point out that I'd mentioned not to use the hires file when reposting in the note, as I do whenever I send files to my customers. I'd also like to point out my ToS where it's also mentioned - "You may repost your commission if you link back to one of my galleries. You may only repost the lowres version. You may edit the hires to use as icons, banners, part of a layout, etc. but please credit me." I never received a reply to this note. -Chyuu then reposted their commission to their gallery. This is how it currently looks, but originally there was no mention of my name. They'd also uploaded the hires version which did not have a watermark. I asked them to credit me but they only added my username to the title, despite my ToS asking for a link back. I originally didn't notice they'd used the hires file, but asked them to change it which they did. You can see the entire comment thread here. -Chyuu reposted their commission again. As before this is how it currently looks. I didn't think to screencap them originally as I was never planning on posting this to A_B. They'd used the lowres file but had once again not credited me. I noted them to ask for credit, this note was ignored. -I noted Chyuu again about credit. I admit I was getting a bit tired of their behaviour so my tone may be a little off from now on which I apologize for! Chyuu replied almost immediately, and continued to do so despite claiming to be busy. Again, I got a little snippy but I found their reply ironic considering they hadn't credited me. -Like before Chyuu didn't link back to my page, the last time I let it go but at this point I really just wanted credit for my artwork. (NSFW) This is what the link leads to. Again, despite claiming to be busy they had time to screencap their gallery yet couldn't simply credit me. I'd actually gone through their gallery at this point to see if their claims were true and found a handful of artwork they hadn't credited, even ignoring someone who had asked for the source in the comments. Again, I can dig up proof of this but I feel it's not entirely relevant to my post. -I asked them to also credit me properly in the first submission. They finally linked back to my profile even if the links are in the bottom right corner of the description. -Chyuu simply replies with this. At this point I'd had enough of their behaviour and told them they were blacklisted. I then blocked Chyuu and thought this would be the end of it. -I don't have proof of this which I apologize for again, but Chyuu then went and reposted their commission to their Tumblr with no credit. I can't remember which file it was but I do remember it being around January this year. Their URL was 'thecuterednote' but the account has since been deleted. Tumblr has a page which you can submit DMCA notices to, I filled out the form and Tumblr took the submission down. -Chyuu has since posted this commission at least one more time to my knowledge. Once again there's no credit and they've posted the hires file. I've sent another DMCA to Tumblr and am waiting to hear back as I write this. The Tumblr this was posted to has since been abandoned and their new Tumblr was posted in the 'where' section. EDIT: Tumblr has removed the post In Conclusion: Chyuu has ignored my ToS and requests on multiple occasions, it's been several months since I took their commission and I'm disappointed that I'm still dealing with this. I'm also worried they've reposted this commission in other places that I haven't found yet. They may continue to disrespect other artists and I'd like to warn them not to do business with this customer.
  12. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/781503.html Edit 8/3/2014: Can an admin mark this as resolved? I had to contact someone else but I finally got my refund back from Glider. WHO: glider/utusmi/rychuu WHERE: www.furaffinity.net/user/glider WHAT: An adoptable from the journal here. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5404751/ Despite my name not being on the list, I have a note http://tinyurl.com/jvzvkyq saying that I will be placed on the list as I had asked for a reserved slot. WHEN: January 11th, 2014 - Now PROOF/EXPLAIN: The furaffinity user Glider ( furaffinity.net/user/glider ) opened for adoptable customs early in January of this year. I paid my funds http://tinyurl.com/mdcx32u towards buying one http://tinyurl.com/k4lx5jd and have patiently waited for 6 months to see some sort of work being done. After two weeks of posting the initial adoptables journal, Glider posted a journal saying she’d need an extension for getting adoptables finished. http://tinyurl.com/lhzrgfw I left her a comment on her FurAffinity page early in June, asking if she had worked on anything. I also sent a note, but it has gone entirely unread http://tinyurl.com/k9nepup . Today I find out that she has disabled access to her FurAffinity page http://tinyurl.com/mhhclh8 but is still active on her tumblr, posting sketches and reblogging things often (not going to share the link unless someone thinks it's necessary as it seems to be a personal tumblr). I don't necessarily want a refund, but I would really like the product I paid for, as I've wanted a Longthing for an incredibly long while, ahaha! I know she's been busy with school so I laid off and didn't say anything, as at the time it was the 'big part' of college work and I knew she'd be busy with it. Some of her tumblr posts also tell what she's been doing with her school work so I've been lenient after reading she does clinicals and whatnot, but 6 months and 'deactivating' her FurAffinity has really... ruffled my feathers. Like I said, I don't really want a refund, but getting my finished product would be absolutely wonderful. ♥ I sent her a fanmail on Tumblr shortly after I learned I could. I haven't heard anything from her anywhere and her Tumblr has remained inactive since I've posted this. I have since sent her an invoice for my money to be returned. Never again will I do business with her. 7/23/2014 edit; Hopefully one last edit because this is absolutely aggravating. I sent an invoice to her via paypal to hopefully get my money back. I haven't heard or seen heads or tails of her in any amount of time since I've posted this, and her tumblr (myouna.tumblr.com) still remains inactive. If I don't get a refund, I'll be contacting paypal for a refund.
  13. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1014386.html WHO: Euclase and SionnachArtach (Second account) on FurAffinity http://www.furaffinity.net/user/euclase/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/sionnachartach/ WHERE: Contacted on FurAffinity, paid via PayPal WHAT: Digital art, Flat Bust (20,00 €) and Flat Fullbody (30,00 €) WHEN: Initial contact in July/2017. First payment for the Flat Bust on 07/July/2017, second one for the Flat Fullbody on 22/July/2017. EXPLAIN: I sent her a note on FurAffinity after a recommendation in early July/2017, asking if she was currently available and willing to do a Bust-Commission from the waist up. She agreed and we started discussing the details, with me sending all the references in a separate note. First payment: (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/8os6zy9y.png) Two weeks later, I approached her again for a Flat Fullbody-Commission, which she agreed to as well (She also mentioned that she was working on two commissions at once and would get to mine after them) and I sent the details again. Payment occured later. Now I was with my commissions on her To Do List. Note with the mention: (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/h7pofc33.png) Second payment: (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/gyckwldd.png) To Do List: (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/mwgujoe7.png) Then I left her alone and waited. That was still in July/2017. I noticed her posting some commissions and personal art, so I thought of it as a great sign. However, she posted journals where she informed us about some health issues together with others that detailed about her returning and being active again, but I still wasn't worried. Her last one was a long one which ended on a positive note that she hasn't forgotten us and thanked us for our patience. Note: According to FA right now, this was still a year ago. (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/2eclbpsm.png) In the meantime, I have decided to make a major overhaul to my Flatbody-commission since it wasn't started and sent her a note 10 months ago (November/2017) about it. It's unread to this day. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/jlbutj9u.png Though, to not come off as impatient and pushy, I haven't noted her about this any further. But as month after month passed by, I began to get nervous and tried to get some info about the current commission-status. -First with a shout on her page 5 months ago (April/2018) -Secondly via e-mail to her PayPal-adress 4 months ago (15/May/2018) In both I have expressed my worries that something bad might have happened to her and that I would be glad to see a sign of life from her again. 10 months since her last favourite. Both went unanswered, so a bit desperate, I asked some friends of her - one of which provided me her new profile, SionnachArtach, created on 24th March 2018. According to the member, she had lost her password to the Euclase-account. Unfortunately, the profile seemed to be abandoned. There were two uploaded pictures, one of her icon, the other one for one of her friends. I messaged her on this profile three months ago (June/2018), asking if she had indeed opened a new account after losing her password, but it also went unread to this day. (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/i8xljaic.png) Her page does feature a Steam-name for contact, but I'm afraid that adding her just to get some info might backfire in some way. After waiting three additional months (over a year in total) without seeing any new activity, chances are that I'm out of 50,00 € and won't ever see the purchased art. Don't get me wrong, I'm certain that she hadn't suddenly decided to run off with the money and abandoning her clients. But it still leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth, that she had secretly created a new account with two uploaded pictures for herself and a friend, without informing her commissioners - while also ignoring every communication-attempt, apparently. To be honest, I'm hoping that we could still bring those two commissions to a satisfying end. Should she get back in touch with me, I'll update accordingly and hopefully call this case resolved. PROOF: Provided in the links above. If I'm missing something important, showed the wrong evidence or censored too much, don't hesitate to tell me, please.
  14. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1012021.html WHO: Tegan AKA CarrionCupcake WHERE: Original transaction was an in-convention commission at Furpocalypse 2017. Notes have been exchanged primarily through Fur Affinity since then. WHAT: Traditional con badge WHEN: October 27, 2017 (day one of Furpocalypse): I commissioned Tegan for a con badge. The base price was $80, but I asked Tegan to charge me $100 instead, with the extra $20 being a tip. Furpocalypse uses a system where the artist fills out the price on an invoice, which the buyer then brings to a central checkout and pays the teller. The teller then stamps the invoice to indicate it has been paid, and the buyer returns the stamped invoice to the artist. I paid the Furpocalypse teller in cash and unfortunately I no longer have my receipt after all this time, though the Furpocalypse staff might if pressed. October 28, 2017 (day two of Furpocalyse): I went to pick up my badge, as Tegan had promised a next-day turnaround. Tegan told me there it wasn't finished yet and to please check back tomorrow. October 29, 2017 (day three of Furpocalypse): I went again to pick up my badge, and Tegan once again said it had not yet been finished. Tegan asked if it could be done as take-home work, and I agreed. November 11, 2017: I sent Tegan a note on Fur Affinity asking for an update. (screenshot) The same day, Tegan replied and said it would be posted "this week." (screenshot) December 26, 2017: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) Tegan read it but did not respond. February 18, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) February 19, 2018: Tegan replied only with "Hey what's your next con?" (screenshot) February 20, 2018: I informed Tegan that I will probably be doing Furpocalypse again this year. (screenshot) Tegan read the note but did not respond. June 3, 2018: I asked Tegan if I'm to understand from that exchange that the badge will be ready before Furpocalypse? (screenshot) June 4, 2018: Tegan replied that it would actually be scanned, posted, and mailed to me "this week" if I could provide my address (screenshot) June 4-8, 2018: I asked Tegan if it would be all right to send my mailing address via email instead of Fur Affinity notes, because I don't particularly trust the latter. Tegan agreed, and I did so. I'm not providing screenshots of the email since it's literally just me providing my mailing address (which is not information that should be posted here anyway), but here (screenshot) is a confirmation note back on Fur Affinity, informing Tegan that the email had been sent. As of when I submitted this post to a_b, I never received anything in the mail. July 10, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) July 11, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "this week." (screenshot) July 22, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) July 11, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "today or tomorrow." (screenshot) August 5, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. (screenshot) August 6, 2018: Tegan replied informing me that the scan would be posted "tomorrow." (screenshot) August 8, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. Though there had been a soft unspoken inferring up to this point that Tegan needed only to scan and post the badge, the lack of updates over this long a time lead me to ask more directly and formally: The badge actually is finished, yes? (screenshot) Tegan read it but did not respond. August 13, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. Because of how long it has been and especially the lack of response to my direct question, I started to more overtly show doubts that this badge is indeed finished. I asked for a refund if it was not. (screenshot) Tegan replied after "finally [getting] home" that the scan would be posted by "tomorrow." (screenshot) August 16, 2018: I sent Tegan a note asking for an update. I also asked what is causing all these delays. I repeated my stance that I would like a refund if the badge had not actually been completed, as Tegan still had not directly answered that. (screenshot) Tegan replied complaining about having a lot going on, but promised to get the scan "soon." (screenshot) August 23, 2018: I dropped a sharply-worded ultimatum on Tegan. (screenshot) The main point, to quote a passage from the middle: "You still have yet to answer a simple and direct yes or no question that I've asked several times now: Does my badge actually exist? Have you drawn it yet, in all this time? If so, prove it. It really should not take two and a half months now just to scan something. If you haven't started it yet, then please don't. I will instead take a full refund." Because of the repeated delays promising updates soon/tomorrow/etc. I informed Tegan that I felt the only way to get the matter resolved was to attach a deadline: I expected either the badge or a refund by September 1, or I would take the matter to a_b. August 27, 2018: Tegan replied "now that [Tegan is] home" understanding and thanking me for the warning, and promising to talk to me "soon." (screenshot) August 31, 2018: Tegan sent me another note suggesting it may have to wait until Sunday the 2nd, rather than the 1st as originally promised. Tegan promised to include extra sketches for the trouble, and to pay for shipping with tracking. (screenshot) September 3, 2018: The September 1 deadline came and went, and so did the September 2 deadline, so I wrote and submitted this post here. EXPLAIN: I still have not received anything after almost a full year of "today/tomorrow/this week/soon" promises. I still do not believe this badge ever existed, which leaves me at a loss regarding how to deal with Tegan's offer on August 31. I very specifically and directly, more than once, instructed Tegan not to draw this badge if it had not already been made, because I would rather have a refund at this point. Tegan never did answer the direct yes-or-no question of whether this badge ever existed. If it did not (which I very strongly suspect) but Tegan then threw something together this weekend to meet the deadline, that would directly go against my frequently-repeated wishes. One could argue that receiving the badge+bonus sketches+complimentary shipping with tracking would at least be something, and that was why I was persuaded to give Tegan one more day per the note on the 31st. Even now, a part of me is worried I'm going to click "Submit" on this and then received the finished product half an hour after I posted it, and end up looking silly for that. However, I look back on this entire history and... well, I'm sorry, but I simply can't believe Tegan anymore. Tegan implied I'd be getting the scan any second now, but Tegan has been implying that for months. At this point, I just want the matter resolved. By refund, preferably, but I might just have to take what I can get.
  15. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1008605.html WHO: Murdoxy/Stellary/Inkyfox/Spiffy WHERE: Furaffinity & Email WHAT: Three digital pieces, valued at a total of $45. WHEN: September 2014 EXPLAIN: In September of 2014 I decided to purchase three pieces from (then) Murdoxy. Equaling up to $45 total. I ordered these from Murdoxy from my Furaffinity account Blysse as seen below: Note 1 This is where I inquired originally about the commission. Note 2 This is where we agreed on the price. Note 3 Confirming payment Note 4 First (and only) WIP. On October 10th I received a WIP (as seen in the 4th note above) of two of the three commissions seen here: WIP 1 WIP 2 These would be the only images of those commissions I would ever see. On October 19th, 2014 Murdoxy posted a journal about moving over to the account Stellary. Journal Seen Here Once the move was finished a journal was posted on Stellary's to-do list with me shown on it as paid and sketched even to this day. To-Do List On Stellary As Of Today After some time passed I wanted to know why I had not received my commission so I checked in on Stellary. Admittedly I should have checked in ALOT sooner but honestly I forgot about the commission for a while. I came back to Stellary's page to find this journal about them leaving Furaffinity for good. Journal About Leaving Fa Posted May 10th, 2016 So I did exactly what Stellary suggested, which was contact them via Email. I emailed Stellary THREE times over the next year without ever getting a reply. I also left a shout on Stellary's Furaffinity account hoping to get some kind of answer. Email 1 (Jan 20th, 2017) Email 2 (May 25th, 2017) Shout (Left the same day as email 2, May 25th, 2017) Email 3 (admittedly I was getting a bit agitated at this point. This was on Dec 9th, 2017 and I have still had no answer at this point from Stellary). So now we get to today. So today I woke up and was checking on old commissions. I had honestly forgotten about Stellary for a while since it had been almost four years now since I commissioned them. I checked Stellary's account to see if anything new was posted and found this shout. To me this seemed to indicate that Stellery had a new account under "Spiffy" they were operating from again. I checked their Leaving Fa journal again and it seems they used the same name for their tumblr so the name of the new account seemed to match up. Leaving Fa Journal Again For Reference Of The Tumbler name Being The Same As The New Fa Name "Spiffy" So I decided to send this new account a note to see if I could finally go ahead and get a refund. Low and behold Spiffy has blocked me on BOTH of my main accounts (the one I used to commission them back in 2014 and the new account I have switched to since then). Message I Tired To Send (I actually see now that I made a mistake when messaging Spiffy and said two years ago when it was really four years, but that isn't really the point). Block Proof I was able to send my message out from my VERY old account that I also use to watch Murdoxy on here. I sent this early this morning but as of this posting it has not been read by Spiffy. But I honestly have very little hope of them replying. So far I have been completely ignored and then blocked by Stellary/Murdoxy/Spiffy for wanting information on a commission that is almost four years late at this point. I realize I waited longer than I should have to follow up on the commission but I don't believe I deserve to be ran off on because of it. I really didn't want to submit one of these because I am normally able to solve these types of issues myself, however in this case I feel I have done all I can on my own. At this point all I want from the artist is a refund so that we may both move on with our lives. One of the characters I commissioned from them I no longer own and another one of them has since been retired. Getting the art at this point would almost be a disappoint. PROOF: All attached files are located in order here. Edit 1: As of 1:50 PM CST today 08/08/2018 Spiffy has read my note about a refund but has not replied. I will update again if they reply. Edit 2: Fixed the links. Sorry about that! Edit 3: As of 11/23/2018 the artist had still not replied. I suspect I was blocked again. I don’t intend to make any further attempts to contact them on furaffinity because of their rules, however I may email the artist again in the future about this. If so I will update again as needed.
  16. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1005457.html WHO: Athena The Jackal WHERE: Biggest Little Fur Con 2017 Twitter: http://Twitter.com/athenathejackal Telegram: @athenathejackal FA: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/~athena~/ WHAT: headshot Perler bead badge WHEN: June 4, 2017 - present EXPLAIN: I realize some of my Twitter photos are out of order and I’m omitting a LOT of our arguing in-between some posts, but feel free to peruse her public Twitter for the full conversation as well as her attitude toward dealing with myself and others. I commissioned Athena for a Perler bead badge on June 4, 2017 at BLFC. I paid somewhere near $130 in cash, so I have zero paper trail. (A stupid move on my part, I know) At this point I have accepted I will not be getting a refund, and at this point I don’t even know when or if I’ll be getting my badge. We never really had good contact, but I’m a relatively patient person. As you can see from my Telegram posts, I let months sometimes slide in-between contact with her before trying to get something from her. On November 16 on Telegram, she said that my badge would be completed by MFF, and then shipped to me after the show. When nothing came about it, I asked again about my badge and on January 11 was told my badge would be done “at the end of next week”. https://drive.google.com/open?id=13RzS3kgroWv8RZOhmepHr4pBYtPpyO_L On January 10 on Twitter, she posted a batch of badges she recently completed — mine was not among them. I still have no clue what the size of her queue is, since she doesn’t have it publicly posted, so naturally I get worried. It takes her another solid TWO MONTHS from the original post to finally come forward about what’s happened to her. On March 15, she starts replying to messages, saying that her PayPal was hacked, and she had a bunch of personal drama going on. I totally get that real life sometimes takes over, and she did show another batch of badges March 31 that were finished. I don’t know how long it takes to make these badges, but I think I have waited long enough. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-oUSM7y4zAeWTC7_hlrwYpTiLavLuaHa Little did I know her queue was over 200 people deep by the time I commissioned her at BLFC’17. My commission is “11th from the bottom.” https://drive.google.com/open?id=1J1h-7LTavLznLvLFpSIXHzML_sYy1mff She told me on Twitter she was doing badges in order of who’s angrier. I’m not good at being angry, and I haven’t been particularly vocal about her until recently, so apparently people on her queue have been shuffled around ahead of me. Of course, no one knows this because she has no public queue visible anywhere. I told her she should stick to her queue in order of who ordered first, and not jump around. Due to the insane wait I’ve already had (uninformed on wait due to no public queue) and her saying that she’s doing the badges out of order, I requested a refund. Instead of offering a solution for her to get my refund, she merely showed me the screenshots of her PayPal and bank statement a second time, telling me how she had bills coming up. In order for me to get my refund, she tells me that I have to find someone to take my spot, essentially advertise for her. I’m sorry, but finding my refund is not my job. I told her this, repeated that I wanted my refund, and said I would be taking my business elsewhere. I do not want the thing I paid for. I do not want to advertise for her. She threatened in a Tweet that she would rather just vanish instead of completing everyone’s commissions. https://drive.google.com/open?id=16xGdffhNCYBhTubJsy8lh8EjKj_G9Kpj She told a friend of mine that she didn’t owe me anything because “I didn’t sign a contract.” https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qXNPGxpGLRCOWAjriz-Q73NeWj3p_yyX https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ENjpL5krhTmkR-VwZGIxliFMRlM_ej-a It has been clear through her dealings that she will never refund me, nor does it seem like she’ll ever return to posting her Perler badges. She made a post back in all this hulaballoo that says she can make 1-2 badges a day https://drive.google.com/open?id=1M0IJ6qpuDbKvMkwnKknRY-Xff5n4Vnli but yet, since March 31, hasn’t posted a single new finished product. A Twitter user pointed me to her Facebook, where I messaged her privately to ask about her queue and my refund. She accepted and saw the message, but didn’t reply, which blatantly told me she’s stealing my money, and probably countless others as well. I am currently in the process of reviewing my county’s laws about a small claims court case. PROOF: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-CRMnWk74TjWb1NF7NtTCujDcfI_HMUz
  17. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1001259.html Final Edit 7/10: I've received my refund and I can only hope that TEIL continues to make changes in her business for the better and get her workload fixed. Through a few back and forth notes I've given her a few cautionary tips on how to not overwork herself (based on personal anecdata) while still getting what she needs done. She sounds genuinely sorry for letting her queue get so massive and untamed and I think honestly needs someone with good organization skills to be her art manager so this doesn't happen again. I'm hoping her roommates will fill this position. I also noticed a handful of old commissions on the queue are either getting done or are at the very least being updated. Important edit 7/5: Please if you're reading this, do NOT associate TEIL's old partner nor their collab work with her to this beware, or any future one. PebblesRaven has no involvement in any of this anymore and has even replied to the beware explaining her side of the story and how she no longer has access to the work. If you have a collab piece owed, it's all 100% on TEIL to finish. Who: TEIL/Teileafuu/Teileaf (possibly among others?). Used to be a solo account, became a collab account with Teileaf's partner, then solo again, before I think being a joint account with somebody new? I've lost track. Where: FA (NSFW) Twitch (Nsfw? It's used for streaming) Picarto (edited in link on 6/30 because she's using this again instead of twitch, as well as the fact she's taken the twitch link off of her profile. Leaving the twitch link for reference. What: $80 YCH (nsfw, right-side) When: October 29th, 2017 - ongoing Proof: https://imgur.com/a/xdjvBHi (NSFW). This is posted in order of the explanation and can be read alongside for clarification. Explain: I had recently followed TEIL for their work, already impressed with their coloring, poses and scenery (where applicable). I eventually found a YCH from them that interested me enough that I wanted to get of my OC. Details were exchanged, and I was put on the queue. The queue had an expected two month turnaround, which was super understandable because despite how fast they seemed to work from the daily output of art, there was a fair amount of people on the list. During this time they also had outfit chibis that were same day, in stream commissions. I got one of those as well, of the same OC, and got the art the next day (as it was late and I was one of the last on the list. Still super prompt!) Happy with the result, I couldn't wait to see a WIP of the YCH. A little while later, at the very start of November, I noticed there was a slight mixup with mine and another person's spot on TEIL's trello, so I sent them a note about it (I was apologizing for the nudging because I had pointed things about my character out in the outfit chibi stream and I felt bad for coming off as pushy). About two months later I sent a note, asking if there was any progress to my commission. I should point out that, despite the journals having since been deleted, TEIL and her partner had some medical/personal issues and had let people know by means of a journal. The timing of my note was really abysmal because I had pressed send, then noticed that maybe a few minutes ago there was a new journal about a family issue. Of course I apologized for the bad timing and didn't mean to add stress to it, I had just wanted an update. Another month, another note, this time with concern because I noticed YCHs being done out of order. I saw the note read, but not replied to, so I bumped it and got a response. Two months later (no WIP given), there was a Refund list put out. This was something that TEIL and her partner had been talking about, and I had been under the impression that, with no WIP or conversation from TEIL, I'd be on that refund list. I wasn't, but the person who had bought the other YCH in the submission was. Curious, I asked about it. I sort of bungled up my words and confused TEIL, so I clarified what I meant. They replied with a WIP of my character, but...except for the general features, the design was incredibly off. Even after I pointed the mistakes out, they had told me I never mentioned key details when I did and this frustrated me. Needless to say I was not entirely impressed with the lack of reading comprehension, and coupled with the trello mixup I felt like I wasn't being listened to. I should have asked to been put on the refund list at this point, but I was given a revised WIP with (mostly) correct features after and left it alone. When the Paypal's 180 claim was coming up I had decided to send another note, asking about an update. A few weeks earlier, TEIL mentioned the threat of eviction and had been doing emergency commissions to make up the rent they needed. I had specifically waited until things died down to ask them, so as not to create another new year's note incident, but it was implied my asking was stressful. They did promise another WIP would be offered "soon." A month later I ask for a refund. I never mention this to them but between the last note to them and the note asking for a refund, I had lost my job. Outside of the paypal window officially, I wouldn't be able to file a claim and had to rely on faith that they would deliver, especially because things seemed to have turned around for TEIL money-wise and they were earning a lot of clients, both repeat and new, from their in-stream same-day commissions. This is just clarification for where I say previously I would rather wait for the art, then ask for a refund later. After a while, TEIL's journals are all deleted, including the one with the link to the google doc of refunds. I ask about it, and they tell me they didn't see my name on the refund list, but they've added me. This doesn't prove to reassure me about the status of my refund or if I'll ever see it. I didn't respond to it, and even mulled over whether or not I should post this beware, but I'm overall frustrated with everything that's happened so far. I still love TEIL's art but I can't say the same about their work ethic. I don't have record of the advice they were given because of the many journal deletions, but I recall someone suggesting they try to make their debt up through selling bases and adopts, so they aren't constantly adding to their commission queue. The advice, as far as I'm aware, was received positively, but has yet to be (consistently) implemented in favor of same-day/next-day YCHs, illustrations and Chibis. update 7/3: https://i.imgur.com/BIrqjy2.png a message from "The Admins" (not FA's admins, but some of TEIL's friends who are going to handle communication between her and her clients). o...kay. I don't have much faith in this, and it sounds INCREDIBLY sketchy, but if it gets me my refund then great! An art manager sounds like something she needs.
  18. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/977067.html Who: Mithacal Creatures - Alaska business license 1052001 Twitter: @Mithacal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mithacalcreatures/ Website: https://www.mithacal.com/ FurBuy username: MithacalCreatures FurAffinity:http://www.furaffinity.net/user/Mitha/ Where: Furbid Auction - https://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1092553.html What: Fursuit head commission, won at auction. The auction was won for $575, and the agreed-upon price after enhancements, modifications, and shipping was $905. Custom features were to include custom eye cuts for better vision, whiskers, and a silicone nose. When: The auction was won on February 14, 2017, and lists a completion time of 5 weeks after full payment is received. Full payment was made on February 17, 2017, after some initial communication difficulties. Delivery of the head was delayed repeatedly. On July 12, after a disagreement about what features were included in the increased price, Mitha offered a full refund, then asked for a legal agreement to be signed as a pre-requisite for the refund. On July 13, Mitha refused to honor that offer, and said that only a 50% refund would be available. On July 17, after I had requested several days to decide what to do (which was also over a weekend), Mitha stated that she would be giving me a 50% refund in 14 days whether I wanted it or not. At that point, I filed a credit card dispute, which was resolved in my favor in September. Explanation & Evidence: The commission got off to a rough start when Mitha didn’t get my emails, but that’s on me. Eventually we made contact via Twitter, which is where we would do all of our subsequent communication. I sent Mitha a long explanation, including a web page with references and desired features. Screenshot 1 Mitha agreed to this, saying that she could “do everything I wanted” on my reference page. Screenshot 2 The features added $280 to the price of the head, which made the total with shipping $905. Screenshot 3 Payment was made immediately via credit card on her website, http://www.mithacal.com. Screenshot 4 Some additional discussion about fur kinds and colors followed, since I wanted to try making a body suit for the head and wanted to coordinate on the fur we were using. At the end of the discussion, I mentioned her move, something that she had been talking about on Twitter. No mention was made of it impacting the deadline. Screenshot 5 One month later, I check in. No progress, and we talk about fur choices, but don’t exit the conversation with an unambiguous decision. Screenshot 6 Another month goes by with no communication. It’s now April 23rd, with no WIPs. I check in again. Apparently Mitha thought that she was still waiting on fur choices, and after getting the go-ahead to use whatever she wanted, says that she’ll finish up the mask and will have updates in a week. Screenshot 7 At the time, she also asks me what color eyes I want. LED eyes weren’t part of my request list, but I had thought they were just something standard she did. Her last message says she needs to wait for them, but had said just before that she’d report progress in a week. Screenshot 7_1 Another month goes by, and it’s now May 30th. I have not yet heard anything from Mitha without me prompting her. She says she’s still waiting on the eyes from DVC. Screenshot 8 Amazingly, the eyes come in the same day! Or so she says. She also now says it will be another few weeks before there’s any progress to see. Screenshot 9 Screenshot 10 June 13th, and I finally get a communication from her asking me to choose eye backgrounds, and to say that the head is still a couple of weeks away from completion. Screenshot 11 June 21st , and I message her again for a status update, and to let her know that I was going to be out of town from July 1 – 10. She indicates that she’ll have the head shipped so that it arrives around July 10th. Screenshot 12 Screenshot 13 July 11th, and I haven’t heard anything from her, so I ping her again. Apparently there’s been a delay due to her wedding and honeymoon, which she didn’t mention anything about. I congratulate her, and ask for some WIPs, especially of the tear duct modifications. This is where things start to go very wrong. Screenshot 14 Mitha claims she never agreed to the modifications. I ask where she said that, because the last message I got from her about it, before I paid, was that it wouldn’t be a problem. She says she sent something saying she wasn’t capable of that kind of modification, and offers a refund if that’s a problem. I ask again to just point me where she said that, and after 24 hours of no response, I’m pretty fed up with the whole deal and agree to the refund. Screenshot 15 Mitha goes off, but agrees to the full refund. Fine, I just want to be done with this; I’ve seen scant evidence that my commission was even being worked on (nothing other than the eye backgrounds), and we’re now 5 months into what was promised in 5 weeks. Screenshot 16 And now things get really weird. Mitha wants me to sign some kind of contract – I was guessing a non-disparagement agreement – as part of the refund. But, instead of sending me something to sign and review, she sends me a contract that she signed, between herself and her dog breeder, over some dispute that they had. Real names redacted below, but they weren't in what she sent me: Screenshot 17 One, sending me this unredacted was probably a violation of her agreement with her breeder. Two, it’s really odd to send somebody a legal agreement that isn’t actually ready to be signed, and is in fact between her and another party, with all of those details. Because I've had some experience with contracts and NDAs, I’m going to get a lawyer to look at any contract I’m being asked to sign. I’m not trying to be aggressive here, and in most business environments when you say you need a lawyer to look at a legal document, that’s a sign of being sane and prudent, not that you're making a legal threat. Screenshot 18 The whole thing has taken a turn for the strange, and I’m asking her for options. I feel she’s had a really poor record of communicating with me, so I’m trying to be proactive about communication and expectations. Asking for a mailing address for legal communications is pretty standard business practice, and signing a non-disparagement clause is a lot different than a regular commercial transaction. As a registered business in the state of Alaska, she has to have a publicly-available mailing address, and it can be found very easily online at the Alaska Chamber of Commerce website (https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/cbp/main), so I'm not sure why it would be a problem. Screenshot 19 And then Mitha changes her mind, says she won’t be giving me a full refund, that only a 50% refund is on the table, and accuses me of threatening legal action, apparently because I uttered the word ‘lawyer’, after she asked me to sign a legally-binding document. Screenshot 20 I want to take some time to think about this, because none of my options here are good: I can lose $450, or I can maybe get a head that doesn’t have the features that I wanted, from a maker that I no longer trust. Since this is already months late, I didn’t think a few extra days would be an issue, especially over a weekend. July 14 was a Friday, July 17 is a Monday. Mitha feels differently, and by Monday evening is saying that she will give me a 50% refund whether I like it or not. Screenshot 21 I’m still not clear on what’s going on – do I still have to sign a document of some kind, even for the 50% refund? I’m not sure, and I don’t want to make a decision until we can hash this out. Mitha doesn’t want to wait though, and just after midnight on Monday she decides she’s going to keep half the money and not send me anything, no matter what I want. After 5 months of me waiting for her, she’s definitely not going to wait for me. Screenshot 22 To me, and to the lawyer that I had review all of this, this is a breach of contract on her part. What she’s saying here, as evidenced by all the previous tweets, is mostly false. She offered the refund first, I just took her up on it. She asked me to sign a legal document, I just wanted to do it safely by having a lawyer look at the contract. At this point, I’m pretty upset. Screenshot 23 Screenshot 24 After her message on July 18th, and blocking me on Twitter, I filed a dispute with the credit card company to get my money back. I’d received nothing, no WIPs beyond the eye backdrop photos, no proof of work done, and no product, and was only going to get half of a refund after waiting 5 months for something that Mitha agreed to do but later decided she couldn't, or wouldn't. Finally, on July 30th, Mitha unblocked me long enough to tell me that she was going to sue me in small claims court. To date, Mitha hasn’t served me with anything for a lawsuit, and the credit card company finalized the chargeback in September, so I have 100% of my money back. As things go, this could have been worse, but I think Mitha is somebody to avoid doing business with.

Paid in cash. It was like $15 or something of that sort. In person, she had told me she would have it done at con, which was part of why I had commissioned her (I have issues with the post so it’s easier that way.) She was very polite and had me send her my references on Telegram. The next day (June 4th) I came to her table sometime and she told me she hadn’t been able to work on it yet. I told her I understood since I’ve been a dealer many times before and got that things can pile up and you’re busy speaking with people all day. She said she would try to have it done by the end of the day. I told her I could be in den after hours and such on telegram, attempting to be accommodating for her. I stopped by a final time at the end of the day and she had no progress. She told me she would have it done within in a couple weeks after the con and ship it out right after. Note: Everything past this point is recorded and posted in the proof section, I am merely giving my side on things in summary here now. You may skip this and go to the proof section to read everything yourself there. June 10th. She asked me for my address. I assumed that meant she was getting to it soon and it’d be sent out soon as well. (Proof here.) Over a month passed, so I checked in on things. (July 25th) She replied days later, suddenly with the finished product, then offering to color it for free. I know sometimes artists will offer extra work to make up for things when they know they messed up on service somehow and I wanted her to have that chance to either a) feel like she was making things right, or b) enjoy the art more if that was the only actual reason. I was very clear I have worries about the post and needed communication to make sure that I didn’t miss the piece in the mail. She said she’d let me know, and even promised it would have tracking. (Proof here.) I contact her again. It’s now September 9th. No response. (Proof here.) September 17th she suddenly produces the colored image and explains her laptop issues and that she’d have things sorted next week. I complimented the artwork, thanked her, had small chitchat. She asked for my address again so she could send it after scanning it. (Proof here.) Another month passes. I’ve heard nothing. The post had just damaged an expensive item so I was extremely worried at this point. I contacted her with my concerns offering to pay tracking and all that stuff. I had forgotten she had promised this to me. This was on October 20th. I received no response. (Proof here.) In my worries, I had to go find her other contacts as I had only been given her telegram. I rarely check FA, but find her FA via a shout on my page with the link to the scanned upload. Went to find her other information. Saw on her twitters she had been making fursuits while ignoring me, which was very disheartening. My anxiety levels peaked, so I had to breathe and wait on things. After being ignored for over a month now, I’d resolved to put my foot down about things. This was on November 10th. (Proof here.) I was extremely firm now, because I knew this was unacceptable behavior and something had to be said. November 11th. She happens to suddenly be able to reply in a timely manner, mere hours after my message, and is just rude and unprofessional. I responded, calling her out on her poor behavior and business ethics. (Proof here.) On November 15th, she sends me an image of a standard envelope that the artwork is in. She states that it’s out of her hands, throws a “have a nice life” and states if I respond she likely won’t even read it. There is no tracking, as she promised originally, and as I requested multiple times. She makes it clear she has no concern if it gets to me unscathed, or at all. (Proof here.) I responded back to notify her I would be setting up a warning about her due to her final nasty message, informing her I was blocking her, and was no longer concerned about the art. I honestly doubt I’ll see it. (Proof here.) I set up a small Twitter beware post, because I did not feel a full A_B posting was worth it at the time. Sure, she was unpleasant and rude, but not enough to push me into this ordeal. I’ve had to write A_B posts before and it’s stressing. I don’t like it. Most people never say anything, but I know these are important and it’s important to call people out on their poor ethics. Then I changed my mind when I was alerted to some tweets she made about the situation, which you can read below. (I was shown these by people who went to pre-block her to avoid business with her.) Cause uhm. Wow. Wow is all I can say. Tweet 1 / Tweet2 / Tweet 3 The fact she went off the rails so badly is super not-okay as a businessperson, especially when you’re criticized for giving poor service. I have been told she’s still been on about me, so I don’t see any hope in resolutions due to her aggressive and childish behavior. 20. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/972238.html WHO: Caltroplay WHERE: FA Profile: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/caltroplay/ I met her at MFF 2016 in the dealer's den, and paid her 75$ USD for a sketch. WHAT: Black and white (I assume digital) two-character sketch, paid $75 USD in cash (she didn't take cards). WHEN: Met her on the last day of MFF 2016, talked briefly, asked if she was available for commissions, which she was - so I happily commissioned her for a two-character sketch. I messaged her through FA two weeks later on December 19th, describing an idea I wanted illustrated. I got a reply from her two weeks later, saying she wasn't sure if the idea would work well but she could give it a shot. I have not heard from her since, despite replying to that message and sending her multiple FA notes in the following months. I sent her a note on Jan 16th which FA has marked as read, but never got a reply. I sent a followup note on Jan 28th, which FA still marks as not read. I've looked for other ways to contact her - left a shout on her page, tweeted at her a few times, but never heard back. Her FA journal post from Dec 7th, 9 months ago, lists my name as one of the people who ordered a take home commission at MFF: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7962221/ https://ibb.co/e067KQ EXPLAIN: I've offered multiple times asking for either a refund or the image I paid for: This is an FA message I sent on Jan 28th: https://ibb.co/fMzuzQ This is a tweet I made on May 21st which was never addressed: https://twitter.com/NitramHu/status/866531731515383809 To my knowledge she still uses Twitter - her FA profile has not been active. I don't know of any other way to contact her. I feel kind of bad for doing this, as she seems to be dealing with some personal issues, but I haven't received any news in over 8 months. Due to the constant dodging, waiting, and general lack of interest she has in getting her work done. UPDATE: She has since done my commission and apologized, after we gave her a good kick in the rear to become a better person. She has also thrown in extra art due to me waiting, and her dodging the questions.. That being said, Only time will show if she changes her attitude, and this beware will remain as a reminder of what she -has- done. So that way if someone decides to buy, they can double check her here. UPDATE 2: She may concurrently be resuming her shady actions, due to her once more piling up on her commissions with little work after weeks of getting them. Her ex has commented below with these notions. I would advise to demand work done with a watermark if you're insistent on her work, to pay when complete so she doesn't take money without anything done. UPDATE 3: She now has a new discord, and has resumed scamming others. Due to this, I'm adding it to the top of the page and in the comments below to confirm she has resumed activities I shall link another article as of 8/20/18 Update 4 She as opened a new DA, can confirm this as she admits it's herself in a journal https://www.deviantart.com/sirenadiamond/journal/Confession-760632890 added this to here for reference so she can't hide Update 5 Added a new Inkbunny, since shes trying to change her name. Re-established contact around January 21st, 2016. All dates are shown in the screencaps above as well. PROOF: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/1p3pqghdpbbdmnp/AAC-pN2f7LeWyjggsC5J0coea?dl=0 (Contains all previously linked content, 2 items within are considered NSFW) EXPLAIN: I had originally purchased a My Little Pony-themed YCH Commission from this artist for $10. Sadly, I do not have a PayPal or e-mail screencap for it, due to most of my transactions before 2014 not being visible on my account for some reason, and it is likely that I deleted the e-mail of this particular purchase from my inbox, as I had cleared out a lot of spam e-mails a few years back. I do in fact still have a screenshot from my inbox for the second transaction, however, also linked above. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/qef5ynwpf5hv5mq/PayPal%20email%20July%2014%202012.PNG?dl=0) I had been willing to remain patient, and in fact, had forgotten about them after a while, and rediscovered them while looking through my notes on FurAffinity in October of 2015, while looking for details in regards to another, unrelated commission. I had contacted her on her pinkustardust account on FurAffinity, having been redirected through a link to her new account on her MajesticRoar account, about them, and she requested that I contact her via deviantART (as shown here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fqqyfbcs6h5fqa2/pinkustardust FA Account Note.PNG?dl=0), which I did. (Warning, NSFW: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vp6m003l2846i4e/DeviantART Notes.PNG?dl=0) I had initially simply requested that the second pic be changed, since I had recently come into ownership of a new character, and wanted that character featured in the image instead. However, after some consideration, and a little bit of a financial issue caused by my bank, I decided to instead request a refund for both pieces, to which she, somewhat rudely replied that it is not her problem, and that she doesn't force anyone to commission her, to which I replied, rather cordially, providing screencaps via dropbox links, that my commissions were both from 2012, and that I have been on her queue for quite some time, with no show of progress for either of them. Surely she couldn't have commissions waiting THAT long, could she? Her response was that she did, over 3 years at that point. I found that rather hard to believe, and questioned her about it, to which she gave another somewhat rude response, pictured above. Several hours later, however, she provided a very rough sketch of the second requested image, featuring the newer character, pictured here: (Warning, NSFW: http://sta.sh/0270p6e73p0u ) Over 3 years, and all I've received so far is a very messy sketch. However, it WAS progress, so, perhaps a bit too generously, I half-heartedly apologized, and, in order to simplify things, requested that the YCH image be dropped, and instead just have them put towards upgrading the pic, so as to get a better-quality image, and also because by that point, I was no longer into the whole My Little Pony fad, to which she agreed, as can be seen in the second note dump. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/8fk8vpuo5drmv7x/DeviantART%20Notes2.PNG?dl=0) About a full year later, with no signs of progress, I decided to inquire again, as shown here here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j2eft57dokyheu0/DeviantART Notes3.PNG?dl=0 I had been seething at this point, but masked my anger and pretended to sympathize. Fastforward to March 3rd, 2017. After another year of no contact or updates, I had noticed that TealStreaks was doing a NSFW livestream, (https://www.dropbox.com/s/3uks7gl5xfg4d23/DeviantART%20Journals.PNG?dl=0) something she's done quite a few of, as well as opened commissions, and art trades a few times, as seen in the above screenshots. Feeling like taking a gamble, I attempted to join the stream, but was denied entry twice. Feeling frustrated, and feeling that this was motivated in part by not wanting to do the work I've been waiting on for almost 5 years at this point, since the stream journal specifically requested that you enter with your username, I posted a comment asking why, to which she responded with this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jdrffad9ggv1htu/Semi-Rude Response.PNG?dl=0 And after I joined the stream, I bore witness to this conversation, before she ended the stream: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v3jr3myh0pmki5g/TealStreaks Talking Shit.PNG?dl=0 She not only insulted me there, but the entirety of the FurAffinity community through that conversation with whom I assume is her significant other. That, for me, was the final straw. As you can see, I had a comment ready to post in response to that. The stream ended shortly before I could post it, but I collected the conversation through multiple screencaps and saved it to link here. I didn't want the pic finished for fap material, as she seems to think, but for the principle of getting what you pay for, and finishing what you start, something she's clearly incapable of doing, based off my experiences with her. At this point, I don't care if the pic gets done or not anymore. If it does, great, she's earned the money I gave her almost 5 freaking years ago. If not, then it shows just how TealStreaks (or whatever name she'll be going by after this goes up, I don't doubt she'll change her username to try to escape the backlash) really is. I only hope that nobody else gets screwed over by her like I did. It's far too late for me to take this up with PayPal, and it's not a huge amount of money to me now, anyway, but it's about the principle of the matter. I paid her for work, and she didn't deliver. I advise anyone who finds TealStreaks to avoid commissioning her at all costs. Update 3/16/17: I have recently received contact from TealStreaks, who has apologized for her actions and attitude towards me, shown in the following linked notes. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/0t96dl45047o20d/TealStreaks%20Apology.PNG?dl=0 & https://www.dropbox.com/s/gkquiib8y15gm6x/TealStreaks Apology2.PNG?dl=0) In addition, she has provided a full refund for both commissions (screencap here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1lqrr4rzjcd3whp/PayPal Refund March 16 2017.PNG?dl=0), and has stated intent to complete the commissioned image right away, as an additional apology. At this point, with the image pending, I shall consider this Beware resolved. Update 3/17/17: At about 7:18 PM EST, TealStreaks streamed work on the pic. She has also informed me of some rather nasty notes she has received related to this. I would appreciate it if this stopped. For one thing, it is strictly against AB's TOS, and for another, the situation is already resolved, so there's no need to do such a thing. I will be updating with the link when the image is finished and posted, but please, cease the notes to TealStreaks. It's not, nor was it ever needed, OR wanted on my end. Update #2: 3/17/17: As of about 8:53 PM EST, I have a WIP of the pic. (Warning NSFW: http://sta.sh/01e4t9n3ghkl) Work is expected to continue on it tomorrow, barring unexpected circumstances cropping up. Final Update: 3/19/17: The pic has been finished. Everything is resolved. (Warning NSFW: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w52bx6qv74rxp30/heart_by_tealstreaks-db2ruef.png?dl=0) I will likely clear the screenshots out of my Dropbox within a few weeks, as there is no need for the screens any longer.

I decided I wanted to upgrade it to a partial so I reached out to the maker as I needed it done for a specific date which I wouldn't be able to finish the parts by due to life circumstances, this was my only reason for commissioning the maker at the time so I'd have the partial to wear to an upcoming convention. The maker agreed and assured me it would be there in time for the convention http://imgur.com/rCI396A so I went through with the commission and paid. http://imgur.com/HZDcMjl I know artists don't like being bombarded with questions from commissioners so I gave them space and just assumed that they would work on it. Time passed and I hadn't seen any progress at all so I contacted them and they told me it was fine and will be done. I contacted them again 2 weeks before the date they assured me they'd have it completed by (as shipping from the USA to Australia takes 2 weeks) and by this point I knew they wouldn't have it done in time, which I was upset about but I let it slide. Time continued to pass and I was getting more stressed and worried about the commission, I was constantly given sob stories for why the commission wasn't worked on (moving house, relatives dying etc.), which I gave her more time because of, however I was noticing too that she was working on commissions that were paid off after mine. It became difficult to get into contact with the maker as they began ignoring my messages, I tried switching over to email on numerous occasions which were ignored completely, whereas with notes I would receive occasional replies. Late September to early October I messaged her asking what was going on and she told me that she was working and making great progress and I started seeing a lot of work from her that she was doing on others commissions suits and I became confident that soon she'd do my commission as she was posting progress as well with her assuring me my suit would be worked on soon http://imgur.com/rrnAKmd so I decided to add a bodysuit to the commission as they also assured me it wouldn't slow my commission but be done with it. Time continued to pass and more and more I noticed other commissions being done over mine and when I tried contacting the maker I was ignored. Eventually I decided I was putting too much time into this and it was making me too stressed so I wanted to put an end to it and as they had breached the agreement many times I believed I was entitled to a full refund and all they responded with was to follow their "trello" http://imgur.com/oT70pkB to try and get me to no longer ask for a refund. On other occasions I had told them they hadn't made a slot for me on trello which they ignored so even looking at that list, I had no idea where I was on it or if my commission was even being considered in her queue Then the maker proceeded to provide excuses and reasons as to why they couldn't or hadn't worked on the commission http://imgur.com/AZ7StD9 then claiming that I hadn't paid it off before others she had placed ahead of me, this continued for a little longer with conversation difficult as they continued to ignore my messages http://imgur.com/OhKbuo8 Finally I was able to get them to agree to send a refund and at this point I was so over it I didn't care about the 35% anymore, so I waited. I hadn't heard anything in over a month later after them claiming they'd send the refund that never came. So I proceeded with the Paypal claim, in order to actually receive a refund. I called PayPal customer service and explained the situation to someone there who told me that I was entitled to a full refund as they hadn't made a proper effort to work on the commission, regardless of what their TOS stated they had broken the agreement. That's when they finally replied however I still am yet to receive a refund from them as they claim they "don't have the money to refund".

I got this piece with a friend in March of 2015. It was through text dialogue that was agreed that we would get the piece together. I then sent my friend my part of the money, & she sent it to the artist, at the time, the artist & I were also friends so she knew of this arrangement. WHEN: In March of 2015 PROOF: My friend & I discussing getting the piece & confirming sending payment (x) (x) (I’ve crossed certain things out for privacy reasons) Me asking the friend if Dauxy has started working on our piece yet(x) The statement from my Paypal of me sending the money to my friend(x) EXPLAIN: On March 27th, 2015 Dauxy put up a journal that she was taking $25 tentacle wing-its(x). A friend of mine, who is friends with Dauxy, messaged me via Skype & asked if I would like to get a couple piece together with 1 of her characters, after talking for a bit we then decided to get a three way piece instead. I agreed, & wired her $25(As in, I sent my friend the money & then she sent Dauxy the full amount in one payment). In August of the same year, Dauxy & I had a falling out, & our friendship ended but we were still on civil terms. (we could still have professional conversations as artist & commissioner.) I still had one other commission with her at this point as well that was finished in what I consider a decent amount of time. Something else I want to interject, at one point in September of 2015, my friend Skyped me & asked if she had paid for my slot or if I had. When I asked her why she asking this she told me that Dauxy had asked her & she didn’t remember(x). This overall unsettled me a bit & made me feel a bit anxious. So a year & a couple months goes by, & I decide I want a refund. I message Dauxy & ask for a said refund in June 2016 (x). Fast forward again to November 2016, & I message her again just asking for an update on said refund. She informs she had forgotten about me, & she would pay me next week.(x) Next week rolls around, & it becomes the evening so I shoot her another note asking for an update(x). The next day rolls around with no response so I shoot her another note. I got a response on the following Sunday early in the morning, her telling me the reason she had not responded was she had emergency stomach surgery the previous week & her entire paycheck had been devoted to that. She was waiting on some money from IMVU so that she could give me my refund & asked for my Paypal email(x). I waited a week before shooting her yet another note & asking for a ETA. She saw it, & yet again did not reply. It’s at this time I started to become irritated with the whole thing. She posted a journal saying she would take care of her refunds after the holidays when Christmas was taken care of, which was understandable. January 2nd, I noticed she had gotten a commision, even though she’d claimed she had no money to refund me. I sent her a note, expressing my frustration with the situation. She saw the message, & once again, did not respond.(x) I sent her another, sharing my frustration with being ignored & waited until the next day, where I found she blocked me.(x) At this point I was seething & unsure what to do. I would like to take a moment here to say I did make a post that I feel like was childish & reactionary, & since been taken down. I was really upset by the whole situation but never the less it doesn’t excuse what I said, & if Dauxy is reading this, I’m sorry that I lashed out. She made a journal coming back at what I said to her which I sent to her on Skype to confront her where she called me a ‘fatass’ (x) (x), & then blocked me there as well. I then noticed she added this to her profile after she had blocked me (x). I don’t recommend ever commissioning this person. My main frustration wasn’t even money at this point, I couldn’t care less. It was the fact I was being treated like such dirt by an artist that I once considered a friend & who had already done something before that had really hurt me. EDIT 2/11/17 Dauxy posted this journal that was sent to me by a couple friends. Tried to post this comment But I'm still blocked. So I am unsure if she meant me or not. To be honest, this gave me some hope that this issue would be resolved & I could maybe move past this, because to be honest I really hate giving negative reviews. It leaves nad energy between me & the other party. I want this to end well. But that hope faded when I saw I was still blocked. I obviously don't have any other known means of contacting her(To my knowledge.). I still haven't been contacted by Dauxy(If there isn't an update below this, assume I still haven't.) about a refund or a formal apology. EDIT 2/15/17 Dauxy noted me. She apologized for lashing out, informed me she was a couple dollars short of my refund & to keep an eye on my Paypal. I sent her a note back accepting her apology, apologizing again, & also saying I hope this can be seen as a clean slate. (x) Shortly after the full amount has been refunded as of today. I consider this beware resolved.
