When Mothux posted in May of 2020 that they were opening for a few pin-up slots; I had a steady, disposable income; and their art style looked slick-
-I jumped right in and ordered a pinup from them.
After this I paid the invoice they sent me and began to wait.
I added them on discord 9 days later, and we both said hello. I played in some small talk to get conversation going because they hadn't responded to my question about additional info in almost a week, and I got a response then.
After that, it was crickets.
By this point I had become exasperated with a lack of communication and any WIP of any sort.
I just wanted to close this chapter and move on because I thought they had disappeared from the face of the earth and had given no explanation whatsoever. Twenty days after my last note they posted an update on their FA.
They also started streaming their art regularly since this update, so they were still kicking and clearly doing work.
The important bit to me was that they had a friend helping them respond to emails and provided an email to reach out to in order to remind them that they have open commissions. I decided to exercise the email they gave and sent them one. By this point I was almost beyond hoping that I was going to see any response, and I thought maybe a sterner approach would garner a response. Unfortunately this was not the case, and a week later I sent them a follow-up email asking for a refund due to a failure to deliver, with much more formality. I was also pretty tired of getting ghosted while they were actively streaming.
I have sent multiple notes on FA and Discord to get their attention with no real response. For a $245 commission, I expected a little more responsiveness. However, after checking their shouts at the behest of my friend — who are also having issues getting in contact — I lost hope that I would get my drawing. I have ordered a refund through Paypal due to not delivering goods as of August 15th. As unfortunate as it is, my money will have to find another pocket to call home.
On July, 16, 2019 I commissioned Dias_Doodles (redacted on discord) for a full painting piece for $75 CAD after helping them pay $16 CAD for art supplies on July, 10, 2019 with promise of a colored sketch, later sending another $7 CAD for a steam game on February, 1, 2020 in agreement to receive yet another small sketch.
The next 9 months was spent with Redacted avoiding any conversation about the status of the commission all while showing off work made for themselves and other customers instead of mine as well as plugging their Patreon link.
Around 9 months after the main payments i get some progress on one of the color sketches
This is promptly followed by another 4 months of the same behavior towards my commission progress
After being in the dark for all this time i decided to interview Redacted's other customers about their experience and warning them about my own, to which Redacted exploded when finding out.
This was the final message from Redacted before I blocked them on all services.
None of my pieces were ever finished, nor do i want to work with them again for a resolution, I have had enough.
During Denfur 2019 on Aug 4, 2019. I've purchased a physical badge to be made and delivered for $60. Transaction was in cash, so no digital receipt unfortunately.
The artist then promptly sends a verification for the commission and invited me to join in a Telegram channel for status updates. The channel indicates that Denfur badges are complete, though there's no progress picture of mine anywhere in the channel.
It's been over a year since I've purchased the badge, and the associated telegram account was deleted likely from inactivity. Any associated accounts with Bluhuny have been inactive since at least a year ago. Their FA page indicates they're on hiatus from November '19 till "2020", though this was not mentioned at the convention.
I am writing this beware for the client editing my art to remove credits without my permission. The client then filed a false chargeback claiming I served them a DMCA after I reported the images to the website staff and requested them to be taken down as I still retained copyright as the original artist. I am contesting these chargebacks with PayPal but felt the need to make this beware in case I lose.
I was approached by Ravensmoon666 to do a ref sheet (sfw and NSFW variants) of her Abyss Drake character, Eclipse back in March of this year, leaving me very excited to do more work of this species. I quoted the client $570 after breaking down the prices on what they were asking for, and they paid the invoice in 3 installments when I was finally free to take their order.
My native language is not English, thus some screen caps being in Russian. I also needed to edit some as I saw I failed to censor names, so some images contain less quality in my haste to post this.
I worked hard to get the art done, making sure to send multiple WIPs along the way and made edits as need be.
One the images were done and accepted, I sent over the final pieces and Raven sent the final payment. I also e-mailed them the files.
After uploading the images to my gallery on FurAffinity, I was noted that I was doing artwork for a character thief. Not wanting to be dragged into the drama I notified the client after they approached me for 2 more commissions that I did not feel comfortable drawing said character anymore, which was not taken well by the client. They then proceeded to try to link me to beware and some other site about the species creator as well as making very negative claims about them to get me to agree to still draw the character. Given my health is bad and stress makes things worse, I still refused.
Sometime this month I was soon notified on FurAffinity that Raven had edited out the credits I placed crediting the species creator in my original images I had sent them and showed these edited images in her gallery. She had originally posted the originals, but must have changed them when I told her I would no longer do art for her of this character. I don't understand why.

Their edited uploads:
Seeing this I shot them a note, which was read but never replied to.
Seeing I wasn't going to get a reply and had given the client ample time to change the images back, I then notified FurAffinity staff of this, and given I still retained copyright as the original artist, asked to have the images taken down from her gallery.
Seeing the images were taken down I was ready to leave things be only to find the client had issued a chargeback for their commission under "Goods or service differ from the description" claiming I had filed a DMCA against them and blocked them and that they aimed to charge back all their payments.
I immediately contested with evidence that these are false claims.
I am now waiting for PayPal to get back to me. My account now sits in the negatives in the mean time.
On November 15th Roger had posted a YCH that interested me, I had reached out to him and secured a slot in the YCH list. Upon securing a slot I was met with a very polite person who gathered the information required and quickly sought out to work. I had received a few updates within the week of paying them, and was really excited to see the finished product!
However after a few weeks, I had not heard anything or received any updates, so I reached out and Roger explained that a few design choices I made may take longer, I reassured him that that would be fine and to take his time and not stress over it!
After a while I still had not heard or received any progress updates, and had sent a few messages with a month in between, I know with Covid during January things kinda were starting to go upside down, so I was understanding!~
They finally responded and apologized and said they didn't mean to ghost me. I shrugged it off and told them not to worry about it. I then waited another 3 months with 1 message probing for updates once each month, with no response, when in march he finally responded with a screenshot of a small portion of the commission. I was pleased to see any progress at this point, as it has been quite a few months for a simple YCH. I praised them for their work and then waited for the next update to come, hopefully soon.
For the last 5 months I've sent 1 message each month, asking for any sort of updates or response, and despite twitter saying that most of them were read, no response. This time I was getting worried, as they were posting frequently on their feed, but not responding to DM's.
So I figured maybe I'll try messaging them on FA, maybe twitter DM's were messed up or something. So I proceeded to message them on FA, and about a day later I noticed that the message had been read, at the time of writing this post, that was almost 2 weeks ago.
I really don't like going to this level with artists, especially those that I have commissioned in the past, but I am apparently not the only one, according to a recent shout on their FA shout list. So I just want to caution whoever I can, they draw great art, but just be mindful if you consider commissioning them!
This post it not to bash Jay in any way, but to warn people about people who might want to invest in Lmj in other fundraisers and future projects.
So about a year ago, Lil miss Jay started a fundraiser.
The deck costed around 50. but if you wanted to donate more, you could get rewards as advertised.
And I went for the 500 dollar rewards
As you can see, the dates match. I was supposed to get nude edits of cards of my choice, 2 oc drawings, other decks from past series, and have my own custom cards of said oc drawings. none of these have happened nor have been shown any progress. After the deadline has passed, there was hardly any updates. Months began to pass and I was starting to get impatient. I would think that he would want to keep tabs on me right? One of his biggest supporters? No.... it's just been silence after the dead line.
I was starting to begin that I made the wrong choice to support him, that this was all a scam. I spent a lot of money and I have nothing to show for it. Recently someone showed me this link.
https://refundmissions.tumblr.com/submit
So I submitted one and contacted him.
When he said that I would still pay production, I thought he meant the base price of 50.
He also owes me another comm worth 75, but that's unrelated.
He is only planning to refund 75.... which is the oc drawing. only one reward is being refunded.
And also, a reward that was meant for the 200 backers was taken off because he made a lot of money? Then what was the point of that tier?
Now I feel like I've truly been scammed. Only being refunded for one reward.
His reasoning.
His reason is basically that it's "still happening", so he should keep the money...
I wanted a refund because it still has yet to happen!
It's almost been a year and I am highly disappointed. In me and mostly for Jay.
I've spoken to others who also gave their support and are just as disappointed.
Which is what got me to do this beware.
I'm not saying to not comm Lmj, since he still needs the money to payback his debts and obligations.
And to reiterate, warn people, that if you invest in Lmj, you might end up being disappointed as well.
Hello there, I am Kitteh6660 and I'd thought I would share a bad experience with what I had with the artist. As of the time of writing, I never received the icon and the artist likely has forgotten about that.
It all started out back in June 2018 when I saw an offer for a cute icon and I'd thought, why not? A cheap art for a cute icon I would use for my profile.
It all started out by sending notes and discussing what I wanted: an icon of me drinking a root beer. Innocent and simple, right? It's the type of icon that could be finished in a relatively short time.
I paid the invoice back then and hoped for the art to come. I even got a WIP but then it abruptly never got finished. And the WIPs are deleted for some reason. Unfortunately, it's way past the 6 month deadline for a refund so that is no longer possible.
The WIPs were deleted. Sadly.
I once had contact of her on Discord but the text message logs just vanished and I can no longer retrieve the messages. She once had a server but it was also deleted. I don't think she's even on Discord anymore.
I know $7.00 USD isn't a lot but I am very upset. I am a forgiving person but if I can ever get the finished artwork, I'd completely forgive her.
Her FA profile but she seems to no longer be active as her last activity seems to be a year ago: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/sinnamon-queen
As of today, I never even got the artwork and none of the submissions on my gallery are from her. It's supposed to be a headshot commission with a root beer.
I had contacted them in March because I really enjoyed their art and they were open for commissions. We had talked a bit and and settled on a three character commission. The price was really cheap essentially being 1 usd per character. However I paid them and they never delivered, I went back to check on them and they said they had “personal problems” jump forward months later, today I went to check up on them only to find out I was blocked. I’m not complaining about the fact I lost about 3 Usd but more of the fact that they took the money and ran.
Contacted him via E-mail, where we confirmed the commission script idea then moved to discord for faster chat.
In discord we settled on the price/rates where I proceeded to pay half up front on 9/15/19 (150 USD) (censored Screen shot below)
They worked on the first page which was submitted for review and verification on 10/17/19
They have had zero responses in discord since 10/17/19. (screen shot below)
I sent a check up via discord, which states a generic either no longer valid/blocked response.
I found the original contact e-mail and sent a update request and have still received no response.
I found his twitter and sent him inquiry on the discord issue, they sent a response confirming their discord was still active (so that means it had to be blocked), so confirmed why I was contacting them.
Upon realizing this was regarding a commission they flaked on they then blocked me on twitter as well. (screen shot below)
at this point it's been 9 months since the last actual confirmation of any work from the artist with all attempts to contact them resulting in ghosting/blocks.
