About Me

  1. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/963375.html Its with an EXTREMELY heavy heart that I am writing this; but its been ongoing for SO long I think it is time. I want to preface this beware with the fact that Wolframkyo is EXTREMELY passionate and very kind in all their responses and usually get back to me rather quickly. This is a beware on professionalism, and a lack of time management.. as one year later I'm still awaiting my piece of art from them. Unfortunately I did not screengrab the journal where Wolframkyo was offering discounted commissions for an emergency fund; this was done end of June of 2016. Not sure what the circumstances were but I do recall that the journal was offering up their stunning artwork for a very affordable price, and was to be done in stream! So I jumped on that journal asking for a commission and was greeted promptly with an accept! payment was made (15USD) via Paypal http://imgur.com/K03OOc8 Unfortunately my piece didnt come up in any of the streams in this time frame which is fine, things happen, so from there I just waited for a little while, and saw a journal update in regards to u updates for the commission list! I noticed that my commission was NOT on this list and was a little concerned so I messaged Wolf and brought it up. They eased my mind and told me that it was an accident and I was added, and bumped up! http://imgur.com/K03OOc8 This was done via an Furaffinity Journal which I did not grab a screenshot of at that time, as I had no reason for concern. Ok great! Im a pretty patient person, so I just let Wolfram work on art and kept checking back in here and there. Fast forward to October now; I just asked for some updates as waiting from June to October for a in stream commission is a little long, but again I'm pretty patient. http://imgur.com/ulzlgj9 Im not really sure how I was supposed to be reading into their response? Im not sure if my commission was included in the ones they were talking about, or if my piece was to be done after this current batch? Whichever, I didnt mind the update and waiting a little bit longer. Im going to be really honest on this next part; I was VERY sick, in and out of the hospital and honestly had no time/forgot about this commission for quite some time. One day I received an unexpected note from Wolf saying that they were sorry for the wait, and they had lost my character sheet but I was to be up in the next batch of commissions! http://imgur.com/ER9cmof This took me by great surprise as I had all but forgotten about this piece. I promptly responded with a copy of my reference and was again relayed I would have updates the following weekend. (Please note the time stamp is now February of 2016) http://imgur.com/4Dzz5gr I really hate bugging artists, but Im at the point where I just either want my art done, or my refund. Im nervous about asking for a refund as they post journals regularly about financial issues, trying to work on art, trying to refund people.. but I attempted once more to contact them to get ANY form of an update. http://imgur.com/bmC3T7b But were here on July 18th 2017 with no updates, no progress, just promises of "youre up next" "ill have it soon" "next weekend hopefully". Wolfram is EXTREMELY kind hearted and I can tell theyre trying their best.. But its really frustrating to be led on by an artist and strung along for this long now. Something that I just now noticed was that on their Trello (application used to show progress/keep up to date on commissions) I wasnt even added to the queue until February of 2016. Im not sure if this was because of the switch from the FA journal to Trello or what, but I did find this very odd. http://imgur.com/8rqtvt7 EDIT: WOLFRAM has completed my work! (just over a year of a wait) and as I've said before, theyre SO kind and willing to work with you. My beware Isnt on their art, scamming, or anything of that really negative type. its just a time management/overloading themselves beware. I would commission again absolutely IF/WHEN wolfram gets their queue under control and the turn around time is not like 8 months to a year for a single piece. you can see their hard work/dedication and how quick they respond and how truly polite they are.
  2. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/819893.html WHO: Vejiicakes WHERE: DA Account/Tumblr WHAT: $50 for two sketch fanwork pieces WHEN: The artist solicited sketch commissions in exchange for donations to hurricane relief in the Phillipines in late November 2013, with delivery promised within 1 - 3 weeks. I made a donation and my commission was accepted on 11/24/13. PROOF: Original post date (original post at artist's DA) Pricing and estimated delivery Proof of payment Acceptance (1, 2, 3, 4) Update requests and responses (1, 2, 3, 4, 4.5 (between the two emails in the previous cap), 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) Reimbursement request EXPLAIN: After my commission was accepted, I made my first update inquiry 1/2/14. I got a quick response regarding my place in line and hopes that commissions would go faster after the holidays. I requested updates twice more over the next two months with no response. The next update was a group email sent by the artist in March 2014 saying commissions would take longer than anticiapted. Since then, the only sign I've seen that my commission has been worked on was a WIP in August 2014. I requested one minor change on each piece, and there's been no progress since. Save for the group email, I've had to initiate contact every time to get an update, the artist will go weeks or months without responding, and there's always a fresh excuse for the lack of progress. She relegated the donation commissions to a "fandom" email she admitted she doesn't check often, has missed multiple self-imposed deadlines, and as time has passed, I've had to resort to alerting her on Tumblr and DA weeks after sending emails to get a response. My last request for an update was 1/4/2014, which she's opted to ignore (I've seen her active on Tumblr, so I know she's had internet access and seen the alerts I've sent letting her know she has mail). On 1/21/2015, I finally sent a request for either a realistic ETA or reimbursement, alerted her on her Tumblr the same day. I alerted her on her DA a week later, but there's been no response. I've been a fan of Vejii's "Authority" fanwork for a while, so this has just been a disappointing experience all around, from her initial delivery date (unrealistic given the amount of work she later admitted she took on), to her increasingly poor time management as this has progressed. Even taking the time spent in queue off the table, 5 - 6 months is lousy turn-around time for a couple of sketches, and having to practically hammer down an artist's door to get updates is never acceptable. ETA: Issue resolved. Artist reestablished contact on 2/1/15 to finish artwork and offer a partial refund for the wait.
  3. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/794281.html In case anyone was wondering, I usually go by Ivy Trellis, but the name was already taken on this site. WHO: CelestBrook on FurAffinity and CelestriaBrook on Weasyl, I'll omit the name given for skype, paypal, and email, however I think she won't use the ones I have listed here again, anyway. WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/celestbrook/ and https://www.weasyl.com/profile/celestriabrook though I've attempted to contact her through notes on those sites, as well as through email and her listed skype. No responses whatsoever. I have also sent a money request over PayPal for the amount of the commission. No response yet. Thanks to a comment, adding in http://www.furaffinity.net/user/southerngirl90/ and http://southerngirl90.deviantart.com/ WHAT: Digital art: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5538613/ https://www.dropbox.com/s/4qnt8z6sq0w45kf/pirate crew slots.png?dl=0 A position in a sky pirate crew in which (direct quote) "each person will get at least 4 images with their person in the image. If I decide to do more well then that is on me. So basically you are only playing for one image when in fact you are getting 4 detailed and shaded images." 13 people are listed as having paid in the journal. It could be others have paid, too, but weren't noted as having done so. WHEN: She took a set of several commissions in a theme during mid to late March, and I paid on March 25, 2014. This is the journal: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5538613/ I took a screencap also of the people in those slots in case it gets deleted or something. (unlikely, she hasn't been on FA in about 6 months now) https://www.dropbox.com/s/4qnt8z6sq0w45kf/pirate crew slots.png?dl=0 On April 1, 2014, she posted a journal about being on hiatus while she was staying with family. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5635577/ After waiting for a long time, I began inquiring about her well-being as well as the status of the commission. Time passed and the window for disputing the charge on PayPal came and went, so her commissioners can't get their money back that way. All emails and notes have gone unanswered. PROOF: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5538613/ she has me listed as "paid" in the journal, plus this screencap in case it gets removed: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4qnt8z6sq0w45kf/pirate crew slots.png?dl=0 I can go dig up my paypal transaction if necessary, too. EXPLAIN: She took on multiple slots for a sky pirate crew, offering four pictures per character, received payment for these, then posted this journal explaining a slight delay. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5635577/ After this, she never reappeared, never did the work, never offered or issued refunds, and never responded to questions or requests for refunds. It's now been six months with no sign of her. While I doubt that she'll try to do it with the same screen names. While it's only a small amount per person, the fact that she did this to multiple people for a sum of hundreds of dollars makes it pretty bad. Frankly, it leaves me frustrated that she led us on before simply disappearing like that. Current Mood:disappointed [From the comments of the original post] yanoi_lacroix [OP] Aug. 18th, 2018 02:25 am (UTC) Received Refund A final update on my end: I just received a refund for my part. I can't speak for others, but my part is done in this. I hope it works out for everyone else as well.
  4. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/792761.html WHO: ThisPornGuy WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/thispornguy/ WHAT: $130 Three character commission with background WHEN: Paid on April 8th, 2014, June 5th, 2014: Last response PROOF: http://i.gyazo.com/3ad3156fdbb681eb5cb52052ca5f6117.png / Skech Received http://i.gyazo.com/17651ef726bf530397e863806d9e09e2.png / Payement Sent http://i.gyazo.com/c5a23e56e458663e695b6b0bd97a2ac7.png / Payment confirmation http://i.gyazo.com/1cdce44b738c36091bf534cec3f7e4cd.png / Status update http://i.gyazo.com/5cee171a4bbdd1b9973af622727e445e.png / Last Email http://i.gyazo.com/19a0eafa17dc9e254429353f3e669d56.png / Note on FA left unread EXPLAIN: My friend and I commissioned this artist back in March of this year, communication has been well back then. The commission was $130 in total for a full color three character piece with background. I received the sketch on April 8th of this year. Once I receive the preview sketch, I sent the payment on that same day. Ever since I have receive the sketch and sent the payment, the communication has decreased, immensely. I have gotten about 2-3 emails from this artist since April, the last one being on June 5. In those emails, I was told multiple times that the commission was nearly finished but still have not gotten the finished product. In the last email I got on June 5th, I was told that he had a hard drive issue in which all of his work had been erased. However, he still told me I was going to get an update or have the finished picture done within 1-2 days, and yet, nothing. I have sent multiple emails, along with my friend doing so too, to this artist and noted him on FA and neither of us have not received any response from the artist. He is, however, somewhat active as he has uploaded content to FA at the end of June and beginning of July, however he still hasn't been responsive on when he would be finished with the work. I'm writing this because the amount of communication is slim to none, and it's ironic that it happened once payment was sent. The artist is still around as he has favorite'd a piece on FA back on August 10th, the note I sent to him back in June is still left unanswered. I did manage to talk to one of his other commissioners and this person has not received an email from the artist since May. I don't know his issue but not responding to any emails has infuriated my friend and I as we are looking for answers. Current Mood: Infuriated
  5. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/1014386.html WHO: Euclase and SionnachArtach (Second account) on FurAffinity http://www.furaffinity.net/user/euclase/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/sionnachartach/ WHERE: Contacted on FurAffinity, paid via PayPal WHAT: Digital art, Flat Bust (20,00 €) and Flat Fullbody (30,00 €) WHEN: Initial contact in July/2017. First payment for the Flat Bust on 07/July/2017, second one for the Flat Fullbody on 22/July/2017. EXPLAIN: I sent her a note on FurAffinity after a recommendation in early July/2017, asking if she was currently available and willing to do a Bust-Commission from the waist up. She agreed and we started discussing the details, with me sending all the references in a separate note. First payment: (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/8os6zy9y.png) Two weeks later, I approached her again for a Flat Fullbody-Commission, which she agreed to as well (She also mentioned that she was working on two commissions at once and would get to mine after them) and I sent the details again. Payment occured later. Now I was with my commissions on her To Do List. Note with the mention: (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/h7pofc33.png) Second payment: (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/gyckwldd.png) To Do List: (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/mwgujoe7.png) Then I left her alone and waited. That was still in July/2017. I noticed her posting some commissions and personal art, so I thought of it as a great sign. However, she posted journals where she informed us about some health issues together with others that detailed about her returning and being active again, but I still wasn't worried. Her last one was a long one which ended on a positive note that she hasn't forgotten us and thanked us for our patience. Note: According to FA right now, this was still a year ago. (http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/2eclbpsm.png) In the meantime, I have decided to make a major overhaul to my Flatbody-commission since it wasn't started and sent her a note 10 months ago (November/2017) about it. It's unread to this day. http://fs5.directupload.net/images/180918/jlbutj9u.png Though, to not come off as impatient and pushy, I haven't noted her about this any further. But as month after month passed by, I began to get nervous and tried to get some info about the current commission-status. -First with a shout on her page 5 months ago (April/2018) -Secondly via e-mail to her PayPal-adress 4 months ago (15/May/2018) In both I have expressed my worries that something bad might have happened to her and that I would be glad to see a sign of life from her again. 10 months since her last favourite. Both went unanswered, so a bit desperate, I asked some friends of her - one of which provided me her new profile, SionnachArtach, created on 24th March 2018. According to the member, she had lost her password to the Euclase-account. Unfortunately, the profile seemed to be abandoned. There were two uploaded pictures, one of her icon, the other one for one of her friends. I messaged her on this profile three months ago (June/2018), asking if she had indeed opened a new account after losing her password, but it also went unread to this day. (http://fs1.directupload.net/images/180918/i8xljaic.png) Her page does feature a Steam-name for contact, but I'm afraid that adding her just to get some info might backfire in some way. After waiting three additional months (over a year in total) without seeing any new activity, chances are that I'm out of 50,00 € and won't ever see the purchased art. Don't get me wrong, I'm certain that she hadn't suddenly decided to run off with the money and abandoning her clients. But it still leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth, that she had secretly created a new account with two uploaded pictures for herself and a friend, without informing her commissioners - while also ignoring every communication-attempt, apparently. To be honest, I'm hoping that we could still bring those two commissions to a satisfying end. Should she get back in touch with me, I'll update accordingly and hopefully call this case resolved. PROOF: Provided in the links above. If I'm missing something important, showed the wrong evidence or censored too much, don't hesitate to tell me, please.
  6. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/921066.html WHO: Meora_Hedva WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/meorahedva WHAT: $223 Traditional Painting to be mailed out WHEN: Originally contacted and paid for in July 2014 PROOF: First response at contact for info, price, and where to send money: http://imgur.com/DeCHHZ7 http://imgur.com/NkVa72e http://imgur.com/tGQc7Z4 EXPLAIN: Sorry that I don’t have all the screenshots of the conversations listed. It was a mixture of notes, shouts, and emails, and some I absentmindedly deleted as I didn’t know this would go on for so long. I tried to put together the important bits though! The original contact with the artist went great! I had waited for a while so I could save money before contacting her, and saw she remained active while doing so, and figured why not splurge a little on some fantastic art. As the links show up above, we came to an agreement on a large coffee painting, framed, to be mailed out to me for $223. I gave her the character I wanted in the painting, but left majority of the idea and details up to her. She told me to expect a 4-6 month wait, so I left her be. I sent an update request in April 2015, was told pretty quickly it was still being worked on as the paints need time to dry - great! I’m happy for the update and knowing she was working on it. Attempted Contact again in May 2015(unfortunately I lost the email where she did respond) but she said she had been busy and hasn’t been able to work on it, but would soon! I attempted contact with her through a couple notes and then shouts in November/December 2015, and she finally responded to me in January 2016 to let me know she had finished my commission: http://imgur.com/fIPfcU6 I emailed her with the new email and she sent me the painting files in March 2016, and a promise to mail it out once she found a frame: http://imgur.com/6ct0z7Z Waited and poked late in March 2016 through email and shout (I know shouts seem excessive, but it was how I got her attention last time), and received an email back that she still did not mail out the painting, then said she had to wait until April for a frame to arrive, which she didn’t say at all beforehand. http://imgur.com/DW5TXXz I had waited a little longer, emailed her three times between April-July 2016 for an update and, due to silence on her part, I had to resort to giving her a deadline to respond back to me before bringing it to A_B's attention. http://imgur.com/ZVb2Vkb Additional Pokes: http://imgur.com/wDi2jTp http://imgur.com/cQh1x05 All she has to do is mail me the painting, which has been paid for. I have even offered twice to pay her more for the shipping fees since they have risen since 2014. I should also point out that every time I try to initial contact for her update, she seemed to have disappeared online everywhere for months. I usually try to not commission people who have a habit of disappearing for long periods of time, but before I commissioned her she updated constantly, and we even had a mutual interest in each other’s work, so I wasn’t prepared for the lack of communication. It’s a shame overall. I still love her art, but a painting that was supposed to be done and mailed within 6 months has turned to 2 years of botchy communication, and right now about 4-5 months of silence on her end. I do not know what else to do to get her attention, so unfortunately I’m trying Artists Beware.
  7. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/879111.html WHO: captainhanni WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/captainhanni/ WHAT: It was the “Ramen Beast YCH” they posted on FA here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16721082/ The finished artwork was to be fully rendered/painted in their usual style. I won the auction and paid the $80 via Paypal. WHEN: The auction was won on June 3rd and the payment was sent the same day. PROOF: http://i.imgur.com/ouX6wPS.png - Payment http://i.imgur.com/NNs5pET.jpg - Details for YCH http://i.imgur.com/eKt59EJ.png - June to September progress asking emails http://i.imgur.com/9wuH3zs.png - Progress screenshot http://i.imgur.com/mp79bTr.png - Unread FA note http://i.imgur.com/DeOe3ZX.png - October 24th email EXPLAIN: I was the highest bidder and won the auction for $80 dollars. I provided the details by email and sent the payment the same day. On June 8th they emailed me a completed headshot I commissioned before this one and left a note saying that the YCH shouldn’t take too much longer. On July 10th I sent a follow up email asking for an update on it. CaptainHanni responded to on July 29th saying that they’ve had a hard time drawing lately. Completely understandable and not a big deal. Attached to the email was also a progress screenshot. September 26 rolls around and I still haven’t received the completed art. I sent another email asking if they could try to squeeze me to the top of their priority list. They’ve been posting art on Tumblr and I was hoping they could find some time to finish my YCH. Didn’t get a response. I sent a note to them on FA on October 14th basically repeating what I mentioned in the email. That has never been read. Finally, I sent one last email on October 24th asking them if they want to finish or give a partial refund for the art, and you could probably guess that they never responded to that either. I would put a claim through paypal but some work was already done. If they would just respond to my email we could work out a partial refund... or they could just, you know, finish it.
  8. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/978874.html Who: Coff Where: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/coff/ What: 2 sketch commissions, 8 USD each. When: 1 was commissioned 23rd November 2016, the 2nd one on the 7th of December, 2016 Explain: I saw the artist one day while browsing FA, I had never commissioned an artist before, so I wanted to give it a try. They were very polite and nice to chat with, so I didn't think there wold be any issues at all. Then the days went, the weeks went. I wondered why it took so long, as they opened up more complex commissions and YCH, which I thought was to bring in more money, as hey, 16 USD isn't that much really. They then posted journals about their current health and such, which, sure, it sucked, but wasn't really a reason for me to be angry. Now, about two months ago, they contact me and tells me that they can't do the commission as they constantly has to redraw the characters. At least they could've told me sooner ! I told them that I'd like a refund and that I'd return once I had gotten over the canceld commission. Haven't heard from them since then, my notes has been unread, comments ignored. They posted a journal about their current situation, but I've been patient with them and I've had enough! I've sent them a money request on Paypal, with a note telling who I am and why I'm sending it. which has also been ignored. I feel terrible about doing this, but I don't see any other option. Proof: the screenshots of our latest conversation about two months ago as well as the unanswered notes. I also link the paypal recipts as well as the money request to them. I've also linked the notes I've sent to them that has been ignored by them. The request for a refund is on its own image, at the lower end of it. Hope this is more ok ? Link: https://sta.sh/2reczwmgggj Edit 14th of December 2017 Received my refund near midnight on the 13th of December. Glad that the issue has been solved.
  9. Aug. 24th, 2012 at 9:17 AM katsunebear My experience with AMWULF. Lacking the ability to communicate and the extended wait of time of this process has lead me to post here. Over 9 months and still no date of when the commission will be finished or even started. Screen shots and detaild description below. This was paid in full prior to the realization of any issues. WHO: He goes by the name AMWULF on Fur Affinity WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/amwulf/ WHAT: My self and a friend paid upfront $55 USD for a digital adult commission over 9 months ago, with minimal updates we have yet to see a sketch, a WIP, or any news relevant to our commission. Both my friend and I have confronted AMWULF several times and we get the same response. Something about how his personal life is in the way, and he has a huge list he needs to complete. While in the mean time making the excuse that he needs to take on more work to live. Since then he has completed several dozens of commissions, con badges, con specific art, and group pictures. We would have requested our money back through paypal but at the time were unaware that after a certain period of time you can not ask for a refund through paypal. And for that same reason I was unable to get pictures of the accepted payment on paypal but I do have it in his own writing that he received the payment. The first two screen shots are my outbox and inbox of the times we have communicated. The rest are the messages between us both we an explanation of what is going on. This was the first inquriy about the commission with details and questions about payment. I asked if my friend and I could pay seperatly however he requested to be paid in full due to him being 'cheated' before. So I oblige and send my friend the money, he then sends the payment to amwulf and I verify that he eventually recives it. Due to a mistake of typing in the wrong email address the first time we correct the mistake, AMWULF then verifys payment recieved. At this point you can see a week went by to verify payment. No biggie just glad that went smoothly. Below 2 months have passed and I ask about the status. 2 months I feel is not an unreasonable amount of time to wait. I got a response a day later, him telling me his personal life is getting in the way. I think to myself "okay, fine I'll wait a little longer, im sure it will be worth it any who." Another 2 months pass, it's late april, I decide to politly ask again the status, I get the same response pretty much. At this point I am frustated but decide to give it even more time. With in this time he completes several other comissions, which he claims were before us, then con badges and art, and now his current flare for orgy pictures. I wait another month and then inquire about a refund, and possibly going to paypal. He pleads that it will be done soon and apologies for the wait. The conclusion is that he will continue making excuses that life gets in the way, we all have busy lives and it sure as heck seems he has the time to do other work. I am not sure of who else has had this problem with him, to this day no futher communication has been made. It's to the point where I am lakcing the care to pursue it, figuring my friend and I lost the money we gave him. This is the only course of action I can take short of going to him again to be shot down with another 'my life is busy' excuse. I would like to warn other people about AMWUL and I seriously advise to avoid his lack of professionalism. Thanks for your time and I hope this does some good.
  10. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/823202.html WHO: Recca_sen_li WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/reccasenli WHAT: He commissioned a digital two-character commission. WHEN: Started March 28, 2014. Ended January 24th. EXPLAIN: First, I want to say that I own my mistakes. Around the time this commission initiated my husband was in and out of the hospital (until October) and having multiple surgeries which left me as the main provider of our house on top of having to cover his hospital bills. I took on too much work and managed to over-burden myself (a mistake which I have been rectifying by focusing on my oldest queued commissions and only taking one new slot per every 2-3 finished off of my queue). First set of notes about the commission: http://i.imgur.com/cQvsTEg.png Today I noticed I got a few new watchers, which usually happens when I upload something or one of my commissioners has. So I checked my most recent posted pictures to see who uploaded something, and saw that it was him. I went to his page and saw this: http://i.imgur.com/nG1B24T.png Screenshot is cropped, here's the actual link (NSFW) (he also hid my comment saying that I did tell him I could refund him): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15648598/ I was slightly hurt and upset by this, I've been working extremely hard to fix my past mistakes (I've cleared at least 20 backlogged things off my queue in just the last few weeks) and I had offered to give him a refund if he didn't want to wait. Both times he said he would rather have the art (and I acknowledged I would rather do the art because I liked the characters involved). Notes from him about a refund: http://i.imgur.com/AF5S7lj.png (the apology referred to is because he left a very rude comment on one of my journals and I told him to note me about a refund.) My husband was still in and out of the hospital at this time, and so I ended up sidetracked (again, I admit this is a good deal my fault). Email about a refund, and apparently him keeping tabs on what I have uploaded and blatantly lieing (I have NOT done any commission streams since once nearly two years ago, proof: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10601957/ this was the ONLY time) and never any PWYW streams, and I only held ONE free art contest that was around the same time, right before my husband was hospitalized). He also made the statement that he wanted the art AND a refund, which was when I heavily considered refunding him regardless because that got under my skin but the art was already inked and half colored by that point. http://i.imgur.com/xWs1NcH.png http://i.imgur.com/gjby1XC.png I had finished the commission about two days later (as he was next in my list for catching up). I would just like to say, again, that I know that a big part of this is my fault and I am owning my mistakes and trying to make things right. But I found his behavior underhanded and unprofessional. (Screenshots have been fixed, I hope this is the right way to post OTL.)

The artwork was STUNNING regardless if they were doing emergency ones or “full price” I wanted to commission Nefur!! So I posted on the piece that I’d take one where they promptly responded with a note asking for the details (reference images 1-2) where we worked out the price and I promptly paid! (Fast pay makes fast friends in my book!) Now on that same day they mentioned that they were a little sick, and that it might be a bit before they get to me and I was MORE than happy to wait their recovery and for my turn! Im quite a patient person within reason. (reference images 3) Well they messaged me on the 23rd stating that they started my piece and I would have it by the end of the next week! Goodness fast turn around. So I patiently waited for my commission and didn’t message them regarding this piece in hopes that I’d be seeing it the following week. (reference image 4) Well November rolled through and no communication. I thought oh well maybe something came up! So I waited. December is now rolling through and two weeks ago (Dec 11) I shot her a Note on FA asking if she was ok and that I hadn’t heard from her in a while. (reference image 5) With no response a week later I posted a shout on her page, asking her to please contact me!(reference image 6) Still no response so I reached out to a friend on her profile asking if she was ok. Her friend told me she was fine, dealing with some troubles and away visiting family. Well I post on her DA because it appears it’s the only place she’s active for her to PLEASE contact me. I’m past my PayPal dispute/refund period, and I'm out of communication with my artist despite seeing activity on her Deviantart account. (reference image 7) Its since been 3 weeks since my last attempt to contact Nefur with no response from her. I did however get a response to my shout on her Deviantart page from another person who commissioned Nefur LONG before I had who is also suffering from non contact from this artist. (reference image 😎 I have since contacted Nefur on DA/FA about either giving me my finished piece or a full refund to which, no surprise, I havent yet received a response. This is my last hope in getting my art or my money. If I can't even get those I'd more than anything just like to warn other commissioners to be cautious of this artist as it seems they are a scam, and will more than likely take your money and avoid you. *sigh* The commission wasnt for very much money but for me thats money I could be spending on an honest artist who would actually produce a finished piece. EDIT 1: adding the page break so I dont take up the entire front page of A_B EDIT 2: the artist is now in contact with me again! Just got a note after a few months of trying to contact them! http://i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah215/Sev_Discovery/finally_zpsb65a3eeb.png hopefully we see some progress!! EDIT 3: Nefur posted a rather.. upsetting journal which I feel was indirectly... directed at me. They explained how they didnt intend for it to appear they ran off with peoples money, they dont trace, and that apparently I've pushed them to attempt suicide (kind of freaking out like holy crap i didnt mean for it to go that far!! what do i do!?!? i feel so bad now guys oh my gosh!) I responded to the journal because I felt MY side of the story should be shared as well. In fear of my comment/journal being deleted I screenshotted the whole thing. I asked for a refund for fear of A: not seeing the art or B: it being traced and I'm 100% against owning stolen art. http://i1381.photobucket.com/albums/ah215/Sev_Discovery/umwhat_zps463af5c6.png Edit 4: its been a week (1-22-2015 today) since Nefur has stated that they were working on my piece. Have yet to receive anything, updates, notes, anything. low hopes are low. Edit 5: its now February 3rd and I have yet to get anything, a response, a note, art, a refund.. anything from Nefur. 12. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/810160.html WHO: Crystal-for-ever WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/crystal-for-ever/ WHAT: Two Character Private Wing-It Commission for 75 USD WHEN: First inquiry of commission on April 24th, 2013. One response on June 24th 2013. No further responses afterward. PROOF: Our Chat Payment EXPLAIN: "Our Chat" link is what has transpired so far, but I'll explain it a little further. I first requested for an idea back on April 24th 2013 for two of my characters in an adult situation. Although it was slightly complex, she accepted the idea without any questions and I proceed to send her the money amount of 75 US dollars. A few months later, I was a little worried about my picture and jump the gun a bit on noting her about it on June 24 of the same year. She mention she had art block, which didn't seem right to me, but I gave her a chance since it was a few months after all. So maybe it'll be done sooner than expect if I leave her alone. But clearly she believe that giving her time is eqivalent to next year. Fast forward to this year on the same day of requesting the picture, I asked for her for some type of alternative to make my idea easier since she had computer troubles (the idea was macro related, but nothing too complex). However, I was given the silent treatment and was slowly losing patience each month that rolled by this year. Wondering if this has happen to anyone else, I kept track on watching this website to see if anyone have been a victum of her practices, but apparently it was still clear as daisy for her. So I waited a little while longer until I checked back her today. I noticed that two other guys have been waiting for a while as I have. One I heard didn't have a good picture and the other one waited over a year. So I was left with no choice and put my foot down with my latest note in the "Our Chat" screencap. I should've realized that with her polices should've been a turn off for me from the get go, but I get what I asked for. Wasted time, money and annoyance. It's sad because I really did like her work when I first watched her and she delivered me two previous commissions I asked for in a timely fashion. And then weirdly this situation happens. I still want to give her options, but she's quickly losing them every time she sits idle on them. So just a future warning to anyone that wants to buy from her. You're going to wait an extra long time or forever if you ask for a commission request from her and her polices speaks for that problem. EDITED 12/12/14: The moment I made my last post, she finally contacted me back and we work out some things. I accept her offer to make my picture by the year's end instead but I will still hold the idea of wanting a refund if something goes wrong. She tired to put some guilt on me for not contacting her before posting this journal. True, a bit preemptive on my part, but both response time of notes and the limbo nature for this commission seems like reasonable ground to warrant one anyways. EDITED 10:30 PM EST: I can't show it since its private, but the commission has been deliveried to me. I decided the commission is good enough to not ask for anything further. So I claim this beware resolved. However, I will update the Our Chat if anything else develops.

First character sheet was completed around February 2014. The artist was then left to complete the rest of the commission. Personal life upheavals ensued in mid 2014, and I did not have the time to check in on the artist’s progress. No attempt was made by the artist to contact me from that time to this. In May 2016 I re-established contact with the artist, who seemed agreeable to finishing the commission. Subsequent attempts to contact them, though their DA account, Skype and private messaging on their Picarto stream yielded no response. Only in September 2016, when asking to speak via the public chat on their Picarto, did they reply. At that point I was told that they wanted to do something, but that they neither had the money to refund the remainder of the commission payment, nor the time to finish the commission. No practical means of achieving a resolution was offered. The dispute is ongoing.

PROOF: The agreement and the PayPal invoice. EXPLAIN: I commissioned Sanny for 2 YCH gifs that he was offering for $100: Example(NSFW). I usually check in every month or so to see if progress is being made, and for the first month, he told me "it's getting there." After seeing him post some more commissions and then advertise daily stream commissions, I decided to check in again the next month and was told that it's a slow process, but it's still happening. A little later, he messaged me back with the first preview and I approved it, but had him make a slight change a few days later, after which he sent me the revised WIP. After another month or so, I decided to ask a few people who had also commissioned the same YCH to get an estimate of how long it should take, and the responses were anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks. After this, I asked him for another update and was told that there wasn't much to show yet. I was going to ask for a refund at the 5-month mark, but he delivered the first piece right before then. I asked for a progress update on the second piece 4 months later and was told again that "it's getting there," and after another 4 months I get the WIP for the second image. I haven't heard anything since and he's still posting up more commissions. EDIT: Finally got the second piece on October 2, 2018, so this whole ordeal took a little over 1 year and 9 months. EDIT 2: Apparently, it wasn't the final version and he said he'll inform me when the updated version is done, so back to waiting again.

WHAT: Traditional art, a sketch of my character WHEN: From February 24th to June 2018 EXPLAIN: I met her at one of the artist alley tables at ANE. She looked professional and like most of the other artists there. She was kind and well mannered at first glance. I have her a reference of my character and had paid for the sketch via her square. She said it would be completed for the next day, Sunday. On Sunday I got a text saying she couldn't make it because she took a train up to Boston from RI and she couldn't get there in time, to which she said she would mail me the work and I was fine with that. She promised she would send me the work the next day and, nothing. March 2nd I asked if everything was okay and if stuff has been sent out, and she said it would ship next Monday. Nothing again, I contacted her again March 17th, and didn't get a reply until April 7th saying her phone broke, and she lost addresses presumably? I had filed a claim with the bank at this point and just wanted my money back. She had said she could offer a refund but I have not gotten a message back from her since April 8th. The bank would not refund me as of June 2018 since the money was given "willingly" even though it was for an item that I never received. I'm not sure if the art at the table was even hers with the amount of run arounds I was getting. I tried to remain positive and when I had gotten into contact with her again I felt bad and said once I was refunded my money, if she got her things together I would pay her in hopes she would do it this time. But I was never refunded, and never got the piece. PROOF: https://s33.postimg.cc/yzwlvuo3z/kurumi.png She has no social media that I'm aware of and I have no other way of contacting her. PROOF: Commission Started Paypal Transaction Screencap of WIP Feet Submission FB Chat log, various dates EXPLAIN: Back in November 2014, I commissioned IsabellaPrice for some fursuit feet for Confuzzled the next year ( May '15). I'd gotten a headbase made from her before and was happy with the product. I'd also gotten art work commissions here and there. The feet were to be foam and fleece construction( Here's my concept sketch if needed). Everything was agreed on and I paid a deposit of $100 18th November 2014 through paypal. I didn't really get any real updates between then and April 2015 when she posted a wip of them unfleeced, just foam. I liked the shape, though I wanted the claws a little shorter but that was easily fixed. ( I can share the note with this info but didn't think it was really relevant). I was a little worried how close it was getting to Confuzzled, especially with 2 weeks-ish for shipping to UK. May came and went, I didn't get the feet. I was in the con's Den and so had my own work to worry about, commissions to sort. I didn't have time to prod her for updates. My bad. Annoyingly, I can't find any notes around then. I must have forgetten about the feet as I wasn't getting updates and with the con gone, I didn't have a urgent need for them. FA's note system doesn't help in finding communication either... Recently August 2015, I bought a new partial and needed avian feet for it, but in a different colour. I remembered about the commission, and I asked if the feet had been furred ( they hadn't) and if they could be altered to a dark brown. This was agreed on but she was away from home until December 2015. November 2015 I'd had enough of waiting and just wanted the raw, unfleeced feet sent to me (Looks like her mum was to do this as she was away). She approved cancelling of the commission and said she'd be home on the 27th. I wasn't even really interested in getting a monetary refund, I just wanted the feet with less hassle. No communication until 25th Feb 2016 when I had to ask. Since then, communication has pretty much been me calling " Hello?" with no reply. Between the start of this commission, other headbases, premade partials had been made including FNAF ones which were made and sent out ( I assume) As well as drawn artwork.

They accepted the commission, recieved payment, but did not follow through with completion. Communication has basically ended from their side and I have not heard from them since Feb 2016. I am writing today to either attempt to re-establish communication or share caution with other users who may interact with this artist in the future. This was purelely a business transaction, I am not too familiar with the artist on a personal level or their status in the community, so I dont pass any judgement other than "I have not recieved the art I paid for", I would be happy to accept the completed art, recieve an update if the art will come but the artist needs more time, or a refund instead of art if they choose to no longer draw. I would be happy with either outcome. I have learned a lesson in which I no longer commission any artist that has the slightest whiff of "emergency" or "urgent" in their sales posts. Additional question regarding this situation: Should I send a request for refund money to their paypal? I am certain this is past the dispute timescale unfortunately.

It was about her entering an artistic slump, so there wasn't going to be much art coming. I was a bit disappointed due to not getting it in time, but I didn't fret. It was going to be a cute pic any of my favorite anthros. About two weeks pass, and she posts another journal on February 27th. She states she's not coming back because her inspiration has left her. She also says she doesn't care if we report her for not returning our points. It may have been just 5.00, but 5.00 wasted. I don't care about inspiration, I paid you to do something and you've scammed me. I haven't reached out to the other person who hadn't received any art from her, so I do not know if she paid him back or not. 19. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/892416.html Three weeks ago, I submitted a lost contact notice on an artist that I commissioned in June 2015. PROOF: Here is the comment chain where the initial transaction occurred. I then requested an update and, later, a refund, but I never received either. Here is proof that I paid for the commission. EXPLAIN: As seen in the screenshots provided, I paid for the commission via the friends and family option when the artist requested it, so I understand that I am as fault here as the artist for failing to protect myself. I know better than to trust an artist this blindly now, so I consider it a lesson learned, but I found it suspicious that, within a week of the lost contact notice that I posted, the artist deactivated their account suddenly. The last time I visited their page before it was deactivated, there to-do list had at least three other commissioners on it, so I doubt that I'm the only one who has been scammed.

It was advertised as being done within two weeks of payment, no excuses. At first I didn't hear anything about them starting until it was almost due when they told me they were getting on it since it was on a time limit, then they said they were working on it on the day it was due (conversation linked above). I didn't hear from them again until they posted a journal (no personal response or offer of refunds, journal is on the FA profile linked above) citing family issues after it was already due and saying they would be back. I waited some more, and on the 9th of November sent them a message stating I would just like a refund (linked above), with no response. On the 18th of November I finally got tired of waiting and emailed them directly stating again I would like a refund. They responded and apologized, promised me a refund plus an extra $15 if I would wait until they had to the money. On the 28th of the same month they told me they were being interviewed for a job, and then on the 10th of December they stated they were hired and would pay me immediately the following Wednesday. Wednesday came and went and they didn't respond to any of my messages. I sent them a final message saying if I didn't hear from them I would be filing a charge back and filling out an Artist Beware, and here we are. I have had no response from them, and no attempt was ever made to follow through on either the art or the refund. I am of the opinion that they do not intend to give the refund, and would like to warn others to be careful when dealing with them as a result. EDIT: Meteorprince has followed through with the refund, so I am filing this as resolved in a satisfactory manner at this point.

I finished my half on May 29th and sent her a note with the finished picture. Some time later she opened the note, but never responded to it. A month later when she did respond, it was not to the note but on the submission. https://gyazo.com/f1573a3ca5928b8748df3fd50dd16e78 She said she was sorry, she hadn't seen it until she searched for her character, and then told me to PM her on facebook for my final approval on the trade before uploading it. The link to her facebook page was broken so I had to search for her, and when I thought I had found her I messaged her, asking if this was her. A month later she replied that yes it was her. No mention of the art trade. A week later I asked if there was any progress, to which she told me to PM her on her art facebook page since she's never on this one anymore. https://gyazo.com/399f44f5b81f2844ff9cab5515678ba8 I find that one and sent a message saying it was me again, to no response. I notice that she's been posting other artwork she's been doing. A little over a week later I told her that if the trade was too much to do, to just let me know. Almost a month later she replies saying sorry that she didn't see it, it was in her other folder. I told her it didn't matter if it was done or not, some communication was all I was asking for. https://gyazo.com/71e6df3c7d38db184a2589109d4b6975 After that things finally started moving. I gave her a ref of my character again. Things were looking up. https://gyazo.com/5a973dd55b67204b54c1649619540699 About a month later, I finally got pictures of the badges. https://gyazo.com/fd192c898b62f698ca3a38ad13f3a0c3 https://gyazo.com/dbb373c4a4ed6d491a985f251bd3f545 She said if I was pleased then she would scan and post them. I told her I was very happy with them, and have been waiting ever since... https://gyazo.com/6a7a0d29eb5f660910044a972b3d3c0a Now I understand that technically she did finally do the badges, and I can probably still try to contact her for the scanned versions, but honestly I don't want to go through all the time and effort again it took just to get to here. If I had written this artists beware earlier as I had planned to, things would be looking a lot worse. At this point I think it's just best to let people know what they could be getting into if they decide to commission her to do a trade.
  22. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/875056.html WHO: Electrocat & Electropaw_Artworks WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/electrocat & https://www.furaffinity.net/user/electropawartworks WHAT: A couples Icon WHEN: August 5th 2012 PROOF: In my stash I have posted four screenshots. One of initial contact to purchase the icon set. The proof of payment being sent (I sent extra to cover the paypal fees). And two follow up notes which were never opened by electrocat. http://sta.sh/21bm9xe88hih EXPLAIN: Normally I would have let this slide and forgot about it but the entire incident left a bad taste in my mouth. I commissioned Electrocat to do a set of icons for my husband and I. It was an experimental icon template and I would have been fine if she just informed me that it was not possible to do the icons and either refund me or make them on a different template. But I received no contacts from her. I attempted to contact her twice in regards to the progress and the notes went unread/ignored. I finally was able to make it to one of her streams where I politely asked how the icons were coming and she threatened to shut down the stream if anyone asked for an eta on any due projects because it was stressing her. I would have screenshotted the stream but I was thoroughly yelled at by her boyfriend of the time before being booted and banned from the stream. So I was unable to ever get in contact with her. I never filed a claim with paypal because I didn’t see the point for $28 that and she lives off her commissions and I didn’t want to add any more stress by taking away any money she had already had. Unfortunately, commissions get piled on top of commissions and some get forgotten. Most of the time she gets the work done, but when things become problematic, communication breaks down and so does the commission. She is a good artist… It just should be known that there has been incidences where some have fallen through the cracks. I just happened to be one of them.
  23. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/990259.html WHO: exitoricanqueen/exitoricanbean WHERE: https://exitoricanqueen.deviantart.com/, https://exitoricanbean.deviantart.com/ WHAT: animated icon WHEN: initial conversation and payment: october 11th, 2017. asked for an update march 12th 2018. pinged their alt account exitoricanbean march 20th. offered to take a refund march 29th. noted about previous messages + request to refund april 3rd. noted again about previous note april 11th. EXPLAIN: i commissioned them october 11th for an animated pixel icon. they responded to my request approving my commission and letting me know they set up the widget for me to pay (initial conversation - https://sta.sh/012cq1844cnp) (proof of payment - https://sta.sh/01voj3nv3v84) because i had seen the vast amount of people asking before me, and as an animator myself i knew an icon of the sort would take time, i wasnt very concerned about the wait for a while. around january/february i wondered about it but didn’t think much. however, what i noted was that if they were working on all of the commissions owed before me, surely around this time mine should be done. and i watch both their main and side accounts on da, and i could see this wasnt the case. a lot of their recent art is either gift art or art for themself. i figured if they had such a big backlog, they shouldnt be doing much else besides their commissions. i questioned them about it here (https://sta.sh/02huower20g) and i received no response. after i commented they changed their taglines to say they were "slow and dead", and they stopped posting for a few days. however, i glanced at their favorites and noticed that while they werent posting, they were still online, because one of their recent favorites was posted after the supposed hiatus. i asked another commissioner about them and learned that they seem to have become overwhelmed by the workload they have. its hard for me to feel bad for them, as they shouldnt have taken 34 commissions in one day (this isnt an exaggeration, i started a chart to see just how much work they had and how much money they owe and here it is https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIvkpo3SrVCKU_2vps8yA3v39Yu62vjwB2BUzjhHcyE/edit?usp=sharing), and while it would be uncomfortable to have to admit to having little to no progress on my commission, id greatly prefer it to being blatantly ignored like this. i know im not the only one dealing with this issue with them. im asking for a refund tonight but i dont expect a response, and judging from the other commissioners experience, i doubt ill get my money back even if i do get a response. ive never done something like this before, i hope i didnt do anything wrong here i just want it to be known that exitoricanqueen seems to have a lack of communication and lack of priority for owed art. update: this was orginally written march 29th. it is now april 11th, and i have asked about a refund 3 times now, on the 29th (https://sta.sh/0286sl77e5xj), 3rd (https://sta.sh/01deygrow1lu), and today, the 11th (https://sta.sh/063uojq9adm). i have received no response despite exitoricanbean being clearly active, posting art and talking on their page. in my sent folder the note is shown to be unread, which means that it was either set to be that way or they just never bothered to read it in the first place. all screencaps here: https://sta.sh/2c1yt75xddh update: finished the backlog chart. this is (almost, at least everything i could find on their commissions journal) every commission they have taken from october 1st 2017 onwards, and the costs, and which are finished or not https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DIvkpo3SrVCKU_2vps8yA3v39Yu62vjwB2BUzjhHcyE/edit?usp=sharing update 2: on april 20th i noted them again here (https://sta.sh/01bf6t8a9xyz). after a week of silence exitorican began posting again on both their main and alt accounts, but have still continued to blatantly ignore me. im running out of hope for this because it truly seems like they just dont care about what theyve done. all of my notes are unread (https://sta.sh/0iuwhutaa11). i have contacted this person 6 times now and there is no logical explanation for them to have not seen my messages. they are ignoring me and i genuinely dont know what to do. im considering noting again and telling them ill post this to my deviantart if they dont respond but at this point im losing hope.
  24. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/967113.html WHO: Vani/VanillaKitsune/Stripesandteeth/Ashketchumsays WHERE: https://twitter.com/AshKetchumSays http://www.furaffinity.net/user/vani (NSFW) WHAT: Digital sketch commission WHEN: Febuary 17th 2016 until present day Dropbox folder with screenshots from my communication with Vani. Images are numbered chronologically: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ovug6pf0uk2qr9k/AADhA-e5XgZqfCOnF8NbSX8Qa?dl=0 Proof of payment: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pihp63yjo0g4a2o/Screenshot Paypal transaction.png?dl=0 My communication with Vani: I contacted Vani on February 14th 2016 according a sketch commission after they made a Twitter post announcing 5 open commission slots (screenshot 1) . We agreed upon a digital bust commission which I paid $46 for. I accidentally sent them payment in wrong currency at first (AUD) but they refunded me immediately so I could re-send them the correct amount. On February 21st, Vani confirmed that the payment was received (screenshot 2-4). On March 30th 2016 I contacted them again asking if there was any problems with my commission and they told me they would be working on commissions again the following week (screenshot 5) On August 5th 2016 I asked if there were any updates on my commission and their excuse was a sudden relocation to Florida. Again they stated that the first thing they would get to was their remaining commissions. (screenshot 6) On March 17th 2017 I asked for a refund. They promised to refund for my commission, but never did (screenshot 7) On July 24th they uploaded a commission to their Furaffinity page, mentioning that this was their last colored bust commission from last year's batch. I commented on this submission asking what happened to mine and they quickly responded to this, explaining that they would complete my commission soon. This proved to me that they did not have a structured commission queue at all, since I as many others seemed to have been completely forgotten (screenshot 8-9) Vani gets a secratary: On May 24th Vani posted a journal on Furaffnity stating that they had gotten a secretary who would help them organize their commission queue, reach out to waiting commissioners and update with a new journal before June 15th. This is the last journal Vani has posted up until today(16/08/2017) and I never received a message from this secretary. Yet again I was left in the dark and according to the comment section, I did not seem to be the only one. Link to journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8241229/ Screenshot of journal: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yshphpggrhxw605/Screenshot secretary journal.png?dl=0 I honestly have no faith that I will ever receive this commission or get a refund. Even if I do, I would not recommend commissioning this artist. They always responded to my messages, but their response was repetitive empty promises. Thank you for helping me correct any spelling/grammar mistakes! EDIT 11/03/2017 In short: Vani refunds me after I Tweet about them (without publicly mentioning their name) about their bad work ethic. Full story: Today I received a Twitter DM from a person who claimed to be Vani's manager. They informed me that Vani was about to refund me for the commission, and honestly I was kind of baffled, I knew that I wasn't on the refund list, and I asked for a refund back in March 2016. I'm censoring their name, but here's the DMs: https://puu.sh/ye2jn/327db3b95d.png I did receive the refund from Vani in form of a gift transaction, and Vani wrote this in the transaction description: https://puu.sh/ye2nK/5f3b8a605d.png. I decided that it's only fair from me to remove these Tweets as the situation as has been resolved, but here is a screenshot of them anyway: (includes cussing) https://puu.sh/ye272/bbfa597c41.png. The deadline commissions I was referring to was two reference auction commissions Vani was holding on Furaffinity, one in which has a deadline for October and one for November. Side note: Vani said that I paid $46 for this commission, which is false. They asked for $46 for this commission, but I paid $50. Not very important, but I would like to include it anyway. Anyway, even though I am pleased that I finally got my refund (that I was promised in March mind you), I am very disappointed to see that showing displeasure in form of some salty Tweets was the only way to resolve this issue.
  25. I was really holding out for Lorkalt, but the year is coming to an end and I have yet to get what I paid for. That, on top of months-long waits for a simple response and seeing the artist fulfill other commissions while I wait so long, I want to make this post to warn against commissioning Lorkalt or @Lorkalt1 on Twitter. On January 11th, I started talks with Lorkalt about a two-character colored commission. We did the transaction through Paypal and it was all done on that same day. A couple of days later Lorkalt sent me a sketch of what the piece would look like, and I agreed to what I saw. After this communication started to go downhill. I told the artist that I liked the sketch and then I finally got a response from him on February 27th - almost a month after we last spoke. He apologized for the wait and then sent me a link to a Google Drive folder that held detailed Black and Whites of my commission. I confirmed that I liked what I saw and sent him a few more details to help with the coloring. It almost took him until mid-July for me to get another response. When I finally got a response from Lorkalt, they explained that they were preoccupied with a situation going on at their end and sent me another update which I confirmed. He explained that he was just finalizing everything, and yet I only got my next response in October. There was no real update concerning my commission, but instead an explanation as to what was now preventing him from giving me updates. He explained that he lost access to his Twitter due to being blocked and that he would send me news during that week. That never happened, and now it's a few days into December and I have not heard ANYTHING from Lorkalt concerning my commission. As you will see in the screenshots, during these huge windows of silence, I have sent Lorkalt multiple messages to see if we can re-establish some communication. I would either be left on read or just flat-out ignored, so I was kept in the dark about when I would get any updates on what I paid for. And while Lorkalt did state that he lost access to his account due to being blocked, I don't find that as a valid reason mostly due to how we also established communication through email. So, regardless of if his Twitter was blocked, he still had the capability of updating me via the email address that I provided to him. It's irritating to deal with this because the art shows a lot of promise and I was excited to commission him. But I only learned that he has a habit of being tardy with updates only after I paid him, from this website and from other Twitter users who have been waiting for more than a year for their artwork.
