    • Who: foxyfluffstudios / alex-rose-nitya / Alexanderea Rose

      When: 04/20/2020
      What: Commission

She tried to hire artists on FA under guest name, alex-rose-nitya on mar18, 2020.

She PMed me, but said no Paypal, only Cashapp. I declined.

Then again on April18, 2020 as foxyfluffstudio.

I lost my regular income and was desperately seeking work. So I agreed to accept Bandcamp giftcards. (I had planned to spend the full amount on about 10~20 musicians / bands, some charity to help them through this rough time...)

I noticed that she was having thoughts of selling adoptables created from the bases she commissioned, and Her FB profile was non-exsisted, but whatever who still uses FB.

Total summary of her crime - She commissioned 4 base packs ( 32 full-body lined characters in total ) and paid $60 out of $480.

I finally recieved half of the total payment, after weeks of stalling. Finally, I let her download the 2 completed base sets.

At this time I realized my balance went down, but don't know any better, and bandcamp 's staff was overwhelmed with emails, and their waiting line took a lot longer than usual. She denies that she bounced my payment.

And once I received bandcamp's feedback and did some digging. (thinking she might be a kid)

Found out she is not a kid and asked again if she can switch to PayPal. She kept on lying.

The last confrontation of this sad story - After showing her the copied response from Bandcamp, her FA status went immediately from New member > Pending deletion.

Wow this is horrible. I couldn't even imagine being scammed out of such a huge and time consuming project. Maybe you can re-use what you have as YCHs? Really sorry this happened to you 😕

Hey just as a heads up, OP. Furry is very active on Facebook. You may still want to watch out to see if the bases are being used. Contacting the mods for the various groups before hand may help.

Son of a- This person commissioned me back all the way in January for a NSFW commission, and instead of asking for payment upfront (it was only 40$, mind you, but this was back when I wasn't working), I stupidly agreed to payment after everything was done. DX

I gave her the benefit of the doubt back in March because that's when the whole virus thing got real bad, but I haven't been able to connect her via discord yet, and she hasn't contacted me on her main discord (I got a discord request from her as foxyfluffstudios, which brought me here) because either I got blocked or due to her having it as friends only to be able to dm in her settings.

I did get in contact via toyhouse on the 18th about talking things through, but now seeing this... I feel scammed, dude.

I am 10000% sorry that they got to you. I hope somehow you can turn their work into a YCH or an adopt to recoup lost money.

    Update:

This scammer started a new post on FA, and tried the same thing again. I don't think she got wind of this beware list yet, but I rather not spook her to change her current alias. I planned to keep an eye out on this post, and sent out warnings to unfortunates who reply there.

I’ve also been used out of 200€ by her for a base pack, I stupidly agreed to an amazon gift card, had them refund the money to her and asked her to send it back to me. A few days after that im mysteriously locked out of my amazon account. She’s constantly changing emails, and if she does pay, it takes months. Beware!

Just got a 404 Error from the link, VinFang.

And MorgueBuddy, it looks like the new account might be trying to use their itch.io site more? Their Facebook page is non-existent (even with attempting to just copy-paste it instead of clicking on the link from the profile), their DA is deactivated, I don't get anything from trying to search up their Dealers Den they have listed, but their TransFur they have linked has barely any information (albeit it does provide their email publicly if you are trying to re-establish contact?).

She has been registering new accounts for months across sites, (Beware when FAF is back online, she frequent there) it would be helpful the next victim to screencap her OCs gallery / Google drive doc. So, she can be recognized from her avatars, cause I've seen her current pantherwolf icon & some base packs in her old toyhou.se.

Update: Bandcamp is not letting me checkout anything (giftcards, or no) after I used part of her giftcard balance, so I am pretty sure she put my account in negatives (my or anyone's labor is not worth a single dime to her)(╯-_-)╯╧╧

Amazon refuses to do anything about the 200 gift card she paid me in and I sent back to her with her promise to send it through paypal. Don't let yourself be paid in gift cards! Only use paypal invoice and hire someone to draft a proper terms of service.

Right now I have her through email and she has a few days to pay me half of what she owes me, so we'll see how that goes...  I have her email if anyone needs to get in touch

I've been dealing with this person over the past week or so. I also accepted to work before I'd been paid anything. I do consultations and Alex booked a 2-hour one for Saturday 12th September. It quickly became clear she wasn't at home for the session, which struck me as odd. After the session I double checked my records as I suspected she hadn't paid yet and lo and behold, she hadn't, so I reminded her. She said she'd pay on Monday 15th. Monday came and went, and she didn't pay, but she did give me an email address to send a Paypal invoice to her, so I can confirm she has one of those. She's even viewed the invoice, but just hasn't paid.

She quickly booked another 2-hour session which is due for this evening. Given her slowness with paying that seemed odd so I came online to check for Bewares, and here she is.

I'm going to be online anyway at the time she's booked herself in for, so if she turns up for it I'm going to insist that she pays for last session plus this one up-front before I do any work.

I'm sorry to hear that other people have been taken advantage of, and I'm going to see if I can secure any payment thanks to my commissions being time-specific.

This is an update to my situation with her. I think anyone working with her might find this interesting, as I've found a way to make sure she pays.

Alex attended her session of the 17th of September. I asked her up-front whether she was ready for her session (I wrote this to sound like a "yay, we're about to do your commission!" but my aim was to get her to state that she had the following two hours to spare) to which she said yes. I then said that in order to provide her with her consultation time she would need to pay for the first, and this session.

She said 'oki' but 10 minutes later no payment had been made. So I got on with other things but frequently checked for payment of her invoice, and every 10 minutes sent her a message nudging her to do so. I've attached  screenshot to show you guys the way I spoke to her during this time. Note: I played hardball knowing what I knew from this Artist Beware thread; I'm never this harsh to clients normally. I have debt recovery training and experience so drew on that.

To further clarify the situation, the echeques that I received from her took 5 working days to clear, but they did both clear, I was able to transfer the money to my bank account, and I am content with this situation. Despite my having a strict talk with her about paying and making sure I got the money before booking anything else, she booked another session within days, on Saturday evening for Sunday evening.

I sent her a message to remind her of a) our agreement about payments, and b) that her last two payments had taken 5 working days to clear, so I would only be able to accept her booking if she could get the money to me faster. She said to cancel the booking, but by then we were within 24 hours of the booking so I held her to my cancellation fee - and told her to cancel the appointment herself. I wasn't about to run around cleaning up an admin mess she'd made. She did indeed cancel the booking.

In short, I would recommend that if you need money badly enough to decide she's worth your while, then insist on invoicing her, and receiving, and banking, your money before you do any work. Then she seems to be fine.

After the events in the transcript provided, I sent her a new £50 invoice for another 2 hours of consultation time which she paid, then took a few days to book in with me. She also blocked my account. This is fine, since the actual consultation will be carried out on another account by my partner, who also does consultations, and I appear to still be able to email Alex. Going forward, I aim to either have my partner ask, or ask myself, whether she wants another session in the future, and send her an invoice in anticipation of her booking her next one.

Just keep your boundaries very firm with this person and make absolutely sure you get your money up-front, and you should be fine.

I am so sorry for those who have been scammed and ripped off by FoxyFluffStudios, i'll admit, i'm so lucky that I listened to my gut, and I looked their username up, because not only did I find this amazing thread that consists of lots of information about this user, but they also just attempted to scam me out of $20 on YCH.Commishes, i'll explain my story.

So I am a artist who uses DA, Furaffinty, and YCH.Commishes, which I use YCH.Commishes to sell YCH's, Adopts, Custom Designs, ETC, and FoxyFluffStudios auto-purchased a custom design from me, and naturally I became excited, and I had messaged them, and they gave me their paypal information, along with what they wanted, and as I was lining the artwork they wanted, I had noticed that they were acting quite odd and somewhat suspicious, for instance, when I asked for the money, they replied with "I'll be sending it shortly!", and I never received it, and when I tried to get a hold of them, they would just disappear, and they didn't reply to me after a few days later, and last but not least, every time I brought up the money, they would either never reply, or attempt to change the subject.

Which at this point, that's when I began to think that something was wrong and something wasn't right, so I did some digging on their YCH.Commishes profile, and I didn't find anything, so I looked their name up, and well... that's why i'm here, because at first I thought I was being paranoid or crazy even, but luckily i'm not the only one who's experienced these things, it puts me at ease, but unfortunately I did waste 2 whole days on making this user artwork, but i'll try to make a positive a negative, and i'll see if I can sell it off somehow.

Do you have a link to her profile?  Or is it the same as the one in the "where" section?  That way we can boost that she's active again on twitter.

User Beyer.M.Alex tried to commission me for a $530 reference sheet, but luckily I found this forum. Thank you all and I'm sorry to all of you who have been scammed.

Here is their gallery and info.

Also, here is the email they sent me for a PayPal invoice, it would benefit you to red flag it: [email protected]

@Thecharacterconsultancy I had to do a bit of backreading since the last time I posted on here,  but MorgueBuddy might be right about something. The pattern of leaving people high-and-dry by making them work on the art without paying up-front means to me that they might consider doing a chargeback/claim/dispute filing before the time-period is up (February-March if my estimation of the window is right?) if they don't switch accounts. I would say hold onto any information you have pertaining to the transaction in anticipation that they may do so to you.

It's currently 180 days, so yes, I'll keep a beady eye on this. I was thinking that if she wanted to get a refund then she'd have done so already since when a consultation is over it's over. I've had someone try to get a refund before because I wouldn't write an ethically dubious character and they gave up after I proved that I'd delivered what my T&Cs say I deliver, so I'm familiar with disputing a refund request. I'll do the same here - I have screenshots of everything I need.
