      When: 10/11/2019
      What: Commission

I commissioned this artist back in October 2019. I had previously received completed work from this artist and at first everything seemed fine. So I commissioned him again this time for a new OC character. It was planned to be for a much larger story project, however I ultimately couldn't afford the project it so I called off the project and stopped at just doing the the commission for the new OC character. It was still agreed on to complete the character which had been started and paid for. And is shown by a previous message on December 23 asking for an update on that commission.
The most I have received of that commission is an incomplete sketch, nothing close to the completed piece, and that was over 7 months ago at the time of writing this.
Later when cancellation is mentioned I spoke only on condition of receiving a refund if the work would not be completed. It was either giving the money back for the art or completing the artwork. And I have received neither.

Working with him he acts extremely unprofessionally, when I would ask for an update on the art and eventual refund would completely flip out in a rant and try to guilt me into thinking that I had done something wrong by asking for an update on art that I had paid for. He would cite things such as others have paid him thousands for art on why he's not working and things with life (such as his daughter and other family) repeatedly as another reason why the work isn't done. As well as guilted me for simply asking for an update for art I paid for, calling me selfish and saying I only cared about myself for asking even though I would go months in between asking about the status. And finally threatening legal action for saying I would go to my bank to report undelivered goods.
He mentions doing free work, however that was never the case. There was never any free work agreed on or done, only paid work.

An important note he originally reached out to me to get me to do a commission with him, by complementing my character and generally buttering me up and acting friendly just to ask me if I wanted to commission him.

I previously had posted a client beware message on his Deviantart page as a comment, however he deleted it and blocked me from his page entirely. He operates another page which I am also blocked from viewing.

As of writing this I have received no contact from him it has been nearly a month since the last series of messages. And no updates beside the sketch from 7 months ago on the art I have paid for. While he continues to remain very active and post art on patreon, deviantart, furaffinity and twitter.

Below I have included conversions with him asking for status updates, and a refund. As well as the message showing payment send and the WIP sketch.

I just-  my jaw hit the floor at how quickly they flew off the handle.  And we have another post that's about to be approved on this artist.  They received the exact same treatment.  It's absolutely wild.

Professionally, I'm annoyed they'd act like it's your fault that they agreed to do an OC design commission for a low amount and then get mad.  Designs take a long time to hash out, and it's not your fault he drastically undercharged.

Wish I could say this is an isolated incident.  I've come into contact with several individuals thus far that have received this same treatment and are owed work for years.  I don't expect to receive anything at this point from them myself but it's good to know others are not going to sit idly by and let copycatz get away with taking people's money then yelling at them.

Huge red flag.  All of the anger to the point where it's not even understandable.  I would never ever allow someone to talk to me in that manner no matter what went on or happened.  That is outright despicable to behave.

I feel like I was having an aneurysm just reading that. Like, their responses are what I imagine to be the verbalization of an epileptic fit.

Big 'Brahh Brahh, I'd just like to say I really adore your artstyle / I'mma have to request or art trade you A/4' energy.

Also one of their FA accounts is also suspended. (uswithoutwings)  considering there's a shout up on top from another customer with the same issues.

And that many account especially two patreon, that's not a good sign at all with that kind of behavior.

Holy heck. Exploding on you like this to a point where you can't even read or understand what they're talking about was so unnecessary, you merely asked for progress and they pulled unrelated nonsense into their...tantrum(?). I'm super sorry this happened to you, you didn't deserve this treatment one bit 😕

Normally artists have no problem with status updates, Just a quick "Hey would you mind if I asked for an update on the art"

And at this point I doubt I'll see the art or my money. and sadly its not an isolated case.

This is nothing new from this person. They have a habit of this and more and was suspended from FA for a year, but kept making new accounts and getting banned.

I wonder what those new accounts are considering if they been banned before on FA they wouldn't be able to make any new accounts considering they would be permabanned.

Holy buckets... O.o Just reading that I am reminded of my own experience just this evening. Had done a piece for a customer, sent the finished piece to them before I passed out as I had spent about 10 hours doing it. Woke up to them spamming that they didnt like it, wanted a refund, very rude and nasty things.

This guy seems very similar. Easy to anger, not really willing to meet in the middle, no real negotiations and such =/ Sorry you had this experience.

Sites usually wont permaban if their only method is to ban by IP Pool. Also, even if they do perma-ban the IP its not difficult to change your IP, use a free or paid VPN which will do that as well. Technology has made ban evasion very easy these days =/

All their another account were suspended because people reported them. FA never permanently banned them. I think instead they just added more time to the original accounts suspension.

That's unfortunate which only make things much worse in this case.

That makes complete sense though still that can be important the know the banned accounts knowing this is not their first time doing this.

Agreed. The problem with banning by IP Pool, is it can easily clip innocent people as well. For isntance, if there are others that live in the same hourse, or people with the same ISP service in an apartment building. An IP Pool can contain a large range of addresses. These are the primary reasons people dont ban by IP pool anymore.

That guy just contacted me. Thank god I searched his name here. He still uses the same message as 4 years ago to initiate contact. Anyway, thanks to this site, I avoided a lot of trouble.

I actually just got contacted by them. They did the buttering up my OC thing too and told me that they have so many people asking for their commissions and I can't get one after this month, so why contact me? Anyway, I am glad I read this before I agreed to anything, I just told them now isn't a good time. Thank you for posting this information before I had to go through any stress.
