  1. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/806852.html Who: Knuxlight Where: -Fur Affinity: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/knuxlight -Twitter: http://twitter.com/tehknuxlight What: Digital Art; Three Icons When: Knuxlight began running Twitter icons at the beginning of 2012. I had already purchased 2 in January, and I wanted more so he agreed to do 3 more. I sent payment on March 26th, 2012, and April 9th 2012. Normally he'd finish within a week or two of payments. After nothing for a month, I asked, and he said he'd do them. I don't know what happened, but they never got done. Every couple of months I would ask on Twitter or Note him on Fur Affinity, only to receive excuses, false hope of completion, or no response. Unfortunately I do not have those notes as I deleted them. I will be attaching an email conversation I had with him this year, however. Proof: This is proof of payment from my PayPal. This is proof I have not received any refunds from Knuxlight since the date of payment. This is a conversation this year where I hoped I would either receive the art, or a refund. Instead I got an excuse, then ignored: http://imgur.com/5R69YUM This is a conversation we had on Twitter after I noticed he was ignoring my emails: https://twitter.com/Big_Nex/status/472511450616176640 Explain: I tried multiple times to either get the art or a refund. I was never solid on what I wanted since I did want the icons more than I wanted to money, which could be perceived as confusing. You'll see this in that email chain. However Knuxlight has ignored me on multiple occasions, said he would refund me on one over FA notes, and never did. I don't know if he forgot, as he mentions in the email chain that he thought it was resolved. I just want my money back.
  2. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/797127.html WHO: Knuxlight, @tehknuxlight on Twitter , http://www.furaffinity.net/user/knuxlight/ on FurAffinity, and https://www.weasyl.com/~knuxlight on Weasyl. WHERE: Twitter.com WHAT: $35 Bust WHEN: 2013 was when this started. PROOF: Sadly the initial agreement was made in 2013, and I cannot recover my DMs from the time. (I admit that this was a mistake - because my friend commissioned him and got art within weeks, I thought I didn’t need to screenshot our DM exchange.) Although I do actually have a screenshot of the payment here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17247468/Screen Shot 2014-08-29 at 6.10.32 PM.png Fortunately Paypal actually is pretty good at keeping track of these things. However, since then, Knuxlight has acknowledged me, as well as the fact that he has owed work: -https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17247468/Screen%20Shot%202014-08-29%20at%205.31.34%20PM.png <— Initially, Knuxlight told me that he was hoping to have this done by the week’s end. After he failed to produce even a WIP, I asked again. -https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17247468/Screen%20Shot%202014-08-29%20at%205.26.45%20PM.png <— Knuxlight gives the hard date of August 27th. (This exchange happened on August 20th, 2014.) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17247468/Screen Shot 2014-08-12 at 2.05.07 PM.png <— Knuxlight talking about the bust work that has been owed. Note the dates. EXPLAIN: One of my friends recommended me to this artist because he was quite satisfied with a commission he did for him. Knuxlight was drawing bust commissions for $35, mostly practice. He took two batches, I was in the first - as you can probably figure out now, guess who was the one person in batch one that didn’t get anything then. Knuxlight then proceeded to talk about how he had school. Now I can understand that he was actually trying to do things to better his life. During this time, he didn’t take any commissions and then finished, graduating from school. In fact, he apologized for this right here. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5287222/ (You will note this was posted in November of 2013. In October, he had also said “Hey, tell me what you wanted” and did not provide a sketch.) Now, here’s what I really found suspicious: In 2014, he said the Busts will be worked on over weekends. (Source: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17247468/Screen Shot 2014-08-12 at 2.05.07 PM.png ) Until around July/August, I noticed that he made no attempt to contact me, and then I noticed there weren't any "Bust" tweets But here’s what I found oddly suspicious… …he had been taking more commissions. Which were all finished first. If you view his Twitter media, you will notice that he had been taking commissions for quite awhile - and actually finished them all. [NSFW WARNING!] At first, I assumed that these were owed work, but I have discovered since then that they were not, and he has been prioritizing new commissions. Throughout the month of September, I have attempted to contact him and remind him that the hard date he had given me and that I would like a refund or my commission, an he has not responded. Now, I know that I have screwed up on this in several ways: 1) I did not take a screenshot of the initial agreement. 2) I did not take a screenshot of the livestream chat when he was working on an icon (Which was a separate transaction.) and similarly, I do not know if I was thorough enough about that when I said “Say, do you also know when you’ll be able to work on my commission? I’m Anpumon on Twitter…’, and it likely got drowned out. 3) I should have noticed the red flags. I’m going to be extra careful to find them now. (You can find them all over his FA and Weasyl pages.) 4) Among the red flags is this entry right here http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/675756.html#comments where it’s revealed he had done this before.
  3. Posted originally on May. 12th, 2013 by akamiz Mod note: Dropbox links are defunct. WHO: Knuxlight WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/knuxlight WHEN: During a Join.me stream where he was conducting emergency commissions hosted on June 4, 2012. WHAT: Two Character w/ Background Lineart Commission PROOF: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44671999/A_B post screen.png Explain : Details under the LJ Cut On June 4, 2012 I happened to catch a stream by knux doing emergency commissions I wanted a piece from him. I asked him for a lineart picture and I gave him 100 bucks mainly ,because I had the money and since it was a emergency I gave him some extra money I had. I was the second person on the list and while he basically did a skeletal like sketch he told me that he will continue the picture tomorrow in a traditional manner. I was okay with this so after two months of no updates I sent him a note on FA on August 21, 2012 he answered with the following response. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44671999/A_B Post screen 2.png I got home on Friday and I didn't see any mention of a stream or anything on his twitter. At this point a note saying I was home and asking him to stream needed to been the best course of action here. After awhile I happened to notice he was doing Bust commissions via twitter and after awhile I decided to send him another note on February 6th. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44671999/A_B Post screen 3.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44671999/A_B Post screen 4.png At this point I was happy to get a update so on the 9th of February he posted the stream link. I joined late due to I was out the house ,but I was able to view the stream on my phone. He didn't work on my picture he was doing something else for his pin-up set. After two months I sent him another note listed below. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44671999/A_B Post screen 5.png This is basically sending the commission through the email ,because that way I can organize it for future reference. It went unread for over a month so yesterday I sent him a tweet asking him to read his notes and it went unread. My friend after telling him the story of what happened told me to post a article on him. I Know I messed up on several issues here the main one was communication on my part and verifying times of when things were gonna happen. I also never brought it up during streams mainly due it was a matter between him and me so I didn't want other people to know about this. He is a full time college student and that's okay I just wanted an update on delays to make me feel at ease and not feel like I was missed or looked over. I hope I explained the situation clearly and I hope this artist understands what my intentions are not for malice. However my question I have is that should I continue to wait for my picture , ask for a refund or ask him to do something else in equal to the payment I sent him? Thank you for your time and if you have any questions I'll be glad to answer them for you. Update: Me and Knux made arrangements for a refund I received some of the money back and waiting for the rest I'll keep you guys updated. Update Number 2: Its been two months and I haven't received the rest of the funds he currently owes me. I will continue to contact him at a later date and time with a concrete answer on what to do on this situation. I don't want to be annoying to him by bothering him constantly.
  4. You know what they say - fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, Shame on me. Well, shame on me. Readers of Artists beware may know that I had a spat with Knuxlight back in 2013-2014, in which he took a commission he had no intention of completing and then proceeded to go silent on me after missing his hard date. I had posted on Artists beware, and after informing him of the post and said "What do you intend to do about this?", refunded me. Now allow me to explain why I gave him the time of day again. Well, after being tricked into thinking he reformed over the course of 2016-2017, he has reverted to his old ways. That one is on me - because he had been seen completing commissions in a timely manner, I had thought maybe we got through to him. In fact, several of my friends [who shall remain nameless aside from letters.] had commissioned him and got completed commissions. During this, I commissioned him twice and he followed through. So, now that I have explained why I was willing to give this person another chance, let's get into what happened, and why you should never commission this person - regardless of how well he has finished your icon over the last year. This behaviour is just unacceptable. So. May 2018. He offers discounts on his commissions because of Biggest Little FurCon (BLFC). Well. That should be alright enough, right? So I send my info and pay. However, disaster strikes - Knuxlight loses all of his saved work, which he stored on a thumb drive. (Yes. You read this correctly.) Looks like he might be learning, right? I mean crap happens. Well, around July, I request an ETA. His response comes off as rude, but well, I am a very forgiving person. From what I gathered, he was kind of just posting on his timeline in hopes all of us would see it. Around October, I ask for advice. Some people gave me response saying that I should give him a warning that I would be filing a dispute with Paypal - just to give him a little bit of a chance. Fair enough. I decide to give him a warning - Art by November 3rd, 2018, or I file a dispute with Paypal. Silence. In the meanwhile, he is taking icons that are made by editing templates - which seem to have a quick turnaround. He even manages to do several pieces piece of personal artwork in this time. Personal artwork. He has the time to draw a ref sheet for his boyfriend and draw a piece of personal artwork for himself and his boyfriend. Yet he could not seem to take the time to check his DMs or even provide a WIP. Another player, 4D, contacts knuxlight. Then out of nowhere, suddenly Knuxlight says he may have something for me. Well. I don't file the chargeback... which is my bad, and to date I still regret it. The week passes, so now I cannot file the dispute, and Knuxlight literally has gone silent on me. The only time I catch him is when he is streaming "PWYW" commissions. I don't put him on the spot, I simply DM him and ask if he has a WIP or has made any progress. He simply tells me "This really is not a good time, dude." Before I had spoken to him on the stream, I had even sent him a message on FA like he requested me to do... and it goes unread. Thank you antiquated FurAffinity web design that lets you know when someone is ghosting you. Finally, 4D loses it. In the meanwhile, Knuxlight starts taking Christmas icons - and he's gotten more creative with them. Out of nowhere, I find $90 sent to my paypal account from him. No word from him. It just... comes out of nowhere. So I'm legitimately shocked, but also surprised. However, I'm told from somebody else (the person he listened to) that he claimed he didn't know my Twitter handle. Wow. Seriously. Don't conduct business through twitter - because according to him, DMs are anonymous. That's some VERY poor design there. Oh wait. DMs are NOT anonymous. He was hiding from me and we caught him. I got my money back, but suffice to say, there will not be a third time. I gave a warning about him years ago, and have warned others who are asking for updates on their commissions. I gave him another chance, and he still thought it would be a good idea to take the money and run. In the meanwhile, I have spotted several people who are on his FA page asking for an update on their icons, and informed them "Buddy, you're not getting your art - he has no interest in it. File a chargeback if you can."
  5. Originally, I had spoke to Knux to be able to get a pair of icons. Noticing in a mutual group his work, I looked to see that he was pretty fast and seemingly efficient with his icons. I asked if he were able to do romantic based icons and if he were open. He had shown interest and asked to send the invoice. I promptly paid it and waited for my icons. Feb. 18th - Paid Invoice May 3rd - I had not heard anything or gotten progress for my items, so I check in to see if my characters were too complicated. I had seen others icons finished and about this time he had started to take were portraits in support of his passion project he was working on. I wanted to change the characters if they were complicated and keeping him from completing it. He stated no, they were not and said he would try to get them to my by Sunday. Time had passed and he still did not even finish or give a W.i.P. for the icons. May 17th - I checked back in again, and it had been about 3 months since the initial payment was sent. I asked if I could get a refund since I felt that it had been a long time I've waited for nothing to show. He agreed and stated he understood. Stated he had been bogged down for a few days, and rightfully, I understood that and didn't take too much to heart. May 21st - Asked me for my paypal so he could resent the money and stated he didn't want us at each other's throats over money. May 29th - I messaged cause I hadn't gotten my refund for the 21st as they said they would send it then. May 31st - My message was left on read from the 29th, and I sent a message stating I felt they were avoiding me now because of that. Due to previous experiences with artist doing the same thing, it made the situation a bit more anxiety increased and I was wanting to get the transaction over with. Knux stated they hadn't dodged me and that they were busy with a friend. The money was sent that day. June 1st - I had stated that while I appreciated the refund, I was going to post a artist beware in review of the transaction process I had received from them. It wasn't the best, but I wasn't doing this to spite him. I just wanted him to improve how he did things and improve for customers down the line. June 2nd - Knux stated that they felt blindsided for me doing a beware because it was not discussed. Sometime after, I had been blocked on Telegram by Knux for what seems to be the reason that I warned about an Artist Beware going up. Attached is a picture of me being able to see the icon before and now I am unable to see any as shown in some of the screenshots. All in all, the beware I am making now wouldn't be here if the commission process wasn't this bad. In writing this, I would hope that improvements are made for him to fix this so it doesn't happen to others down the line when taking commissions.
