  1. Yes I've been doing "order processed." I don't think doing nothing is advisable-- My account was inactive for a couple of years and when I came back I found that while my account wasn't limited, my earnings over a certain amount were being held for a month by paypal as fraud protection. The instructions for getting the account back to normal were essentially to have a high percentage of your invoices marked shipped or processed. I can't remember the exact wording as they just released everything and I haven't had anything put back on hold (yet?) Just fyi: when you mark it as processed it will auto send an email to the client with something along the lines of "shipping updated" in the heading, so I've gotten many confused emails. I just explain that what I'm doing is saying it doesn't need shipping information and I think I'll just start putting this in my messages standard when I send finished files. My main issue in the past was trying to update the shipping info always gave me errors but I'm hoping that's been fixed as I haven't run into it yet.
  2. That new image they sent you is bizarre and I can't believe they insisted on charging you to put a gradient in the back. The reason why they wouldn't answer on why the quality had changed is likely because the Kiohda picture is also traced. You can see that the style of it varies widely compared to the drawn samples on their Artstation. Speaking of, on their Artstation they used filtered Tokyo Ghoul covers as multiple examples of a commission of an "oc character" they sent a client 😧
  3. On March 12, 2018 DaVonteWagner posted on the HF forum with an idea for a request (free art). It was a topic I didn't have a lot of practice in so I contacted them on the 14th to let them know I was working on it. In September I switched to posting the WIP on twitter, but I don't know if they ever followed me there. Last I had contact with them was Dec 2018 on the forum. Due to personal life events and because it was a free request, I only finished the piece recently. In the time since the forum has become defunct, but I still messaged them there just in case. I also posted on their HF profile (last active 2022) and sent a message to the email associated with the account. I first sent an email just asking if they still used it because it was a domain I didn't recognize ( @live.com ) on March 25 of this year, but didn't hear anything back, though I did notice that the emails didn't bounce so it should still be a valid address. Today I sent another email with a link to the images just in case. If anyone has any info on if they have switched accounts, have other social media they are more active on, or if they are even okay, I would appreciate it.
  4. My animation collab partner and I worked with this client in June 2018- May 2019 for a similar animation and it was an awful experience. They were constantly (even before paying) wanting to change the scope of the project to something more than the stated price range, and after they paid, for more than what was paid for. They wanted work before payment (we refused), they kept contacting me on my day off (after being told multiple times not to), sending us reference materials unrelated to the project in order to try and get us to do extra work, trying to get us to take on more projects at once than we were comfortable with, and complaining about being charged extra once they used up their free edits (as outlined in the TOS they agreed to). They even asked me for reviews AFTER they paid me, so I contacted my other clients and a few of them let me send their emails to this client. They were constantly asking for updates and changing their mind about things despite regular WIP being sent, and asked for a refund multiple times before immediately changing their mind. They also asked me to refer them to an animator who could edit someone else's art, which I informed them was illegal and which I found incredibly concerning. They originally paid 500USD split between me and my collab partner, which we finally refunded 200USD of after they asked for a refund two days after I posted the first WIP update for the colouring, and giving them the file for the animated lineart. I believe at that point I had actually had a caution post typed up and ready to post myself, but after they agreed to the refund I decided it was resolved so I shouldn't bother. I'm sorry... if I had done so maybe you wouldn't have worked with them.
