  3. On March 2, 2023, Solari0m posted an 'emergency YCH' for $50. Immediately, I jumped on it. I had admired their art for a while and was genuinely excited to work with them. I got into contact with them in DMs and we began to discuss details on the same day. I sent payment promptly, and she confirmed she received it. On May 12th, Solari0m posted a tweet with a piece of NSFW art and the caption "I'm almost done with the ych, please send me a DM if yours is still missing!" so I promptly did on May 15th. And then again on May 19th. This is where the communication issues started. While she did confirm she got my message, she never responded beyond that, and from there, seven months passed. On November 9th, I reached out once more, and they provided to me was a sketch over of the YCH. At this point, they decided to redo the piece, because they didn't like how it looked. I was fine with this, because this meant that my art was being worked on. I received another work in progress in April, another sketch, which I loved and vocalized to them. I got a WIP two months later from them, which I confirmed I liked. From there, I didn't receive word for another eight months. I requested contact methods through Bluesky and Whatsapp that ultimately went nowhere as a way of nudging them for the art. I was unable to get WhatsApp to work (this is my own fault), and no messages went through, but I did reach out to them on BlueSky, which led nowhere. On January 17th of 2025, I requested a definitive due date. They didn't give me one, but said that they would finish it by the end of the day. This didn't happen. I told them that I didn't want the piece rushed and that it was okay if it took a few days, and then they provided me with another WIP. On the 23rd, they told me that they weren't feeling well, but that they were feeling better - I assumed this meant that they would once more work on my commission. I waited two weeks before wishing them well, expecting that I would get another WIP or... something. On Monday February 24th, I requested a definitive due date again. They said they would have it done 'tonight (the 24th) or tomorrow (the 25th) at the latest'. This did not happen. On March 2nd, 2025, I finally reached out with my ultimatum. They provided a small sketch as apology. At this point, I just wanted the art to be done and approved whatever they sent. They said that they would send the drive link immediately and then didn't send it. When I asked them for it, they said that their computer had been updating for two hours. Today they sent me a link to the drive... which included all of the commissions they had done over the past two and a half months (some on the days that they had promised me they would get it done 'today, or at latest, tomorrow') at full resolution. This struck me as remarkably unprofessional. I was uncomfortable that they sent other clients files as well. All throughout the past six months, they have regularly been completing commissions on their vgen, while consistently forgetting about mine. This was not a good experience.
  4. I can vouch that this artist is extremely slow but I can vouch that they do produce work. I commissioned them on June 2nd, 2022 and the YCH was completed on May 16th, 2023. I didn't really receive any updates during that time and when I was finally contacted it was also with a fully completed piece. Thankfully I did not really need any changes, but I most likely would not commission the artist again (and have not) due to the length of time and lack of communication.
  5. Original agreement: I paid 60$ in cash for a digitally illustrated badge that will be laminated and shipped to me after the con (AC24). Proof of payment: It was paid in cash at the time of commission (first day of the con within 20 minutes of them the artist alley opening.) What happened: The art was to be completed within 1-2 weeks, it was completed in 4 weeks (august 2nd, full res provided on trello on august 5th), no complaints there. On the same day of completion, they asked for my address which I provided. Since August 12th, I have had no contact from them on telegram, which was the only social media i was provided at time of purchase. on their trello, they say they ship Friday's, being that mine was completed on a Friday, I figured I'd wait a week. and another week. and another. I never received any update, so I texted on September 2nd. (this jumps ahead showing future messages, but basically them asking my address was the last message I received personally from them.) Through digging around, I found a twitter which they were active on, but I don't have a twitter account. I asked if my SO could contact them as they have a twitter, and he was successful in contacting them on September 19th on my behalf. The reason they claim for not shipping my supposedly printed badge is that they moved and have yet to find a place to laminate my badge. My SO tried to follow up weeks later but further communication was unsuccessful. After more digging I found their email in their trello, and again, had my SO contact them on my behalf (they check their email more than I do). Yet again, unsuccessful. October, November, December, January... no response. On any platform. I have yet to have my badge shipped or a partial refund or anything. (I no longer need the full-res as it was posted on their trello.)
  6. Rather than poke and prod about the "what ifs", please just submit a post to our queue. We will elaborate further once we are able to review the circumstances in full. We are locking this thread to avoid veering into "is this bewearable" bullet points.
  7. Changed Resolved to Yes
  8. Update: The artist has gotten back to me with the completed commission and the following claims. The email was not responded to earlier as it was in their spam folder The commission was sent out "last year" (2024) to the "email associated with your initial invoice". Given that there was no invoice and payment was done at the con, I do not know what this means They had marked the item as done on "their list", which would have to be something that's not the Trello that hasn't been updated They no longer have access to their Telegram account and recommends blocking it. There has been no mention of losing their Telegram anywhere on their other social media With that, I believe this could be considered a resolved incident, but hope this timeline could help others be aware of what level of service they sign up for with this artist.
  9. How much would I be allowed to post when it comes to the guilt trips and excuses? I know ya'll are very tight with that stuff so if I do make a Beware I'd like to know beforehand so the process is smoother!
  10. You know we won't tolerate their nonsense here if they decide to drag it out. As for social media, you can always find ways to limit who can reply to posts to mitigate folks. But for the most part, people tend to be more sympathetic to clients left in the lurch.
  11. I commissioned a certain popfur over a year ago for a commission that was supposed to be done instream the next day. They currently have 121+ people on their queue. (121 is what I counted from their Trello, they have posted in their server that they don't have everyone on there because they've lost track) They keep giving public deadlines that they never keep to, keep taking on more and more commissions. They will do some of the newer commissions if the person they're doing them for is popular enough. They always have something going on like being evicted, not having money for bills, physical health, mental health, and try and publicly guilt trip people who wants refunds. I'm really scared to write an AB on them because they are friends with a lot of artist and I'm worried they'll all turn on me but I also feel like this needs to be known so people stop getting scammed by them. I need advice.
  12. Hi, I commissioned them for YCH clone back in February 2024. Got 0 updates or wips. I believe I can confirm your belief in them doing minimal to change head shapes. I actually had commissioned them previously and when requesting changes, it didn’t look like they did much to “fix it” either. I had asked for the “black nose” to be removed and made more equine. Instead, my oc now looks like a goat, which is not their species.
  13. 2023 December 13th Kai had posted a reminder for one of their multi-slot YCHs. I liked this one a lot and decided to comment asking for a slot and Kai sent me a note asking for details and gave me a payment link. December 14th I had something happen with power going out at my house so I was unable to answer right away. He sent me another note the next day asking me how I was doing and I replied with my situation from my phone. December 15th When I was able to get to my PC I replied to his first note with the characters, asking if he'd be able to draw them before I sent payment. The character's species has a specific blocky head-shape and aren't supposed to have foreheads/ protruding brow bones so I told him that. He said he'd have no problem drawing their head-shape and to let him know when I sent payment. I went ahead and sent it and mentioned that I forgot to ask him if the cigarette in the piece could be changed into a vape instead and he replied saying he received payment and had no problems with changing it to a vape. I'm going to post the character references I sent him so you can see the head-shape and details on them that become relevant later. 2024 July 19th I hadn't heard anything from Kai but he posted a journal saying he was done with his medical school exams and now had time to work on his queue. He was going to be working in the order of when the YCH's were listed vs bouncing between who ordered what slot first and was doing the YCH's in batches for each month. Mine was set for September. December 3rd I checked in on his journal and saw another person had been asking in November if the deadlines were still accurate as they were waiting for a YCH from October and November. I commented as well, asking if the queue was still accurate as I would have been waiting a year for the piece on the 16th.. 2025 January 5th Kai uploaded his first post since people had been asking for updates and it was a reminder for a YCH and he continued to ignore everyone else. I ended up commenting on the reminder stating: "I don't mean to be rude, but why are you taking on more slots when you haven't finished the ones from over a year ago? Everyone has been patiently waiting and asking you for updates on your "deadline" journal just for you to ignore us for months and come back to take on even more commissions. You need to either finish your queue and/ or begin sending out refunds. Otherwise it looks like you're just trying to run with our money. :/" I also went and copy pasted it onto the YCH he had the reminder for with the same thing. There was someone who commented wanting a slot and I warned them that Kai had a queue of over a year and they removed their comments. A few hours later, Kai ended up responding to me and the other two commenters on the journal with a copy paste message saying: "I'm sorry for the delay. I was not able to use my strength to the full and the three-year burnout has taken its toll. I took a month off in December, which kind of helped, so I will update and make a more accurate list of deadlines soon, but by name. So that each of you can keep track of my work. I'm really sorry for the wait." He hid my comment on the YCH reminder but didn't hide the one on the YCH itself. Eleven hours later got a note from him telling me that he had been burnt out from work and that he actually had finished my YCH with a link to the piece. It mostly looks nice but there are several things off. Kai didn't even try editing the head-shape outside of erasing the nose and adding slit nostrils and missed a few key things that were on the character's references (Horn rings, Nyx's collar and neck fluff), he also didn't change the cigarette.) I feel like given the amount of time it took for him to respond to me that he went and rush did the piece because otherwise I don't know why he wouldn't have just sent it to me beforehand. I messaged him back asking for changes but that note has been left on unread and I sent him another on the 26th which has also been ignored. I'm almost certain that I am not going to get a response anytime soon and he's just running off with several people's money. I really think people should stay clear of him unless he does a major turn around.
  14. For clarities sake, both issues with both artists have been resolved to a satisfactory conclusion. The long waitlist artist has agreed to remove me from their waitlist, and was apologetic about the long wait. I've applied a timer, so I won't even consider commissioning them again until that timer has run out and only after they've updated their waitlist properly. The artist I commissioned has delivered the commission and apologized about keeping me waiting. The issues as to why are their own personal business that it is not my place to publicly discuss. Thanks again for the advice, it was incredibly helpful. Feel free to lock this thread as there is nothing new to add or update on these matters.
  15. I have commissioned Wulfchow at the Artist Alley @ AnthroCon 2024. The commission is for a digital drawing with a scene commission, which was verbally explained in person at the booth to be a fullbody with a background. Scene commissions are shown to be offered on their social media, but the price is not shown as it was sold out at the time of posting on July 6, 2024. Payment was done through Square, so there is no use of PayPal. Instead, the only proof is my bank statement, showing that I had ordered from Wulfchow on July 5, before the scene commissions were sold out. On July 5th, we had exchanged Telegram messages to establish contact. Afterwards, I attempted to reach out for updates, where the screenshots include specifically my mention of a scene commission. The Trello link is all of their currently owed work from AnthroCon 2024, including the scene commission they agreed to do: https://trello.com/b/6FFKY0ug/post-anthrocon-24-queue There has been no indication of a response since my check in on November 16, 2024. The artist instead updated on their Twitter that they will correspond by email instead, despite claiming to respond to all outstanding DMs. I have reached out to them on the email they publicly supplied and am still waiting for a response.
  16. I managed to talk to the artist and reach a solution satisfying for both of us, the artist can indeed be hard to talk to however my situation wasnt helped by a "friend" of mine who had a personal drama with the artist and caused me to approach them not in the friendliest and most open minded manner (probably wouldve reached a solution earlier if not for this person). After them leaving my life i approached the artist in a more friendly manner and in private written and voice conversation we have discussed our problems and i have learned of many private obstacles she faced in the time since the order was put in. For anyone else waiting for commissions from her or having a hard time talking to her i can recommend messaging her partner who is much easier to talk to and also is her manager and motivator. He helped a lot. If i reached out to him earlier i probably wouldnt have made this post as it wouldve been unnecessary. https://www.furaffinity.net/user/senntinel https://t.me/senntinel
  17. I began a commission process of a two page a comic from ectoflorist/kettucutie on Februrary 16th 2024. The artist seemed nice and welcoming at first. The total for the commission was $70, although I was given the option to put a down payment of $20 first and pay the rest at a later date and agreed. After sending the $20 down payment for the commission, the artist sent a rough sketch of the first page of the comic. On March 17th 2024, I then had the rest of the payment, which was $50, and sent it to them as well. Both transactions were made via CashApp. I've waited until April 23rd and April 28th 2024 to as for an update on the commission. But was greeted with a bit of a hostile reply. After apologizing, I waited for a response, unfortunately, the artist became unresponsive. I waited for months sending check up messages while trying to be respective of the artist's space as much as possible. However, the artist did not respond at all. Strangely, as I made the transaction and contacted the artist on Discord, they still seem to be active on there. Unfortunately, the artist's Furaffinity page has been inactive for months, and there's no other place to reach them other than Discord. On January 22nd I tried contacting the artist through private message on their Tumblr. However, they have blocked me and had not sent a reply. The artist is currently still posting on their tumblr, reblogging posts from others even though they've not sent a response.

  19. Took the advice to the comments. here and blocked them though more keep coming up so it's going to be a nonstop blocking and remove spree on bluesky unfortunately.
  20. Thanks for the advice baja. I've sent the artist an ultimatum and given them a set date to finish it if they don't contact me and a slightly longer date if they do. Both fitting within the chargeback period of PayPal. As for the waitlist issue. The artist in that case fortunately only takes payment after they reached you on their waitlist so I'm not down any money on that. If I didn't make that clear in my initial post that's on me. Sorry about that. What bothered me about them isn't just the fact they've gone past the advertised waitlist time, but that they've ignored multiple communication attempts on my part, taken multiple YCH things, and have recently talked about going to a convention without so much as a message back. I recently found the artists Telegram and will be asking them to remove me from the waitlist due to feeling disrespected. I will wait for 2 days since they came back from an event today, and I'm okay with letting them get a day of rest in, but will issue the request soon. Overall your 3 months time limit feels very sound. I'll be following that from now on, unless it falls outside the chargeback window of PayPal. Thanks again for the advice.
  21. Originally, artist and I agreed on a 150 USD budget on animation to help take care of costs because he was looking for work to be able to feed himself. Artist insists he would do weekly updates. What followed was months of silence, and updates only whenever I would ask for them. These "updates" would never include actual proof of progress on the work. False promises of delivery and asks for more money always followed each update request I would send. In the end, they provided a paypal email different from their original, saying they needed "storage" to be able to deliver the final file. They have recently asked for more clients as close as the past month. They should not be trusted to deliver their work or offer refunds for working with them.
  22. Its up to you if you want to follow through with it. If you are still in the window and you have actively been ignored after trying everything (including that paypal email) to contact them? I would go through with a claim. Without getting into super specific details on your particular situation. My personal threshold without seeing any progress and having 0 communication from an artist I've commissioned is 3 months before I escalate. I always deliver an ultimatum for a response with a set date, within my protection window, to allow them to respond or refund of their own volition. If you are simply being waitlisted and THAT is the window for them to get to your commission, and they expect it to be prepaid? To me, that is a red flag. I simply cannot put that level of trust in someone unless I have a years-long history of working with them on past commissions. No matter how popular they are, if the wait is that extensive and there's no communication, it's simply too risky for me to take that kind of gamble.
  23. So I need advice about two issues with two different artists I'm currently having. First, an artist I've commissioned has suddenly stopped posting and thus stopped responding to my DM's asking for an update on my commission since 29th October. I still fall within the the Buyers Protection window of pushing a chargeback through PayPal, but I've never had to do one before and am nervous. I have tried contacting them everywhere I can but they've not responded. The only option left would be to use the email address they used for PayPal. So should I try doing that? And if they ignore me again how long should I wait before giving them an ultimatum before issuing a chargeback? The second issue is I've been on an artist waitlist for well over a year. The artist states on their waitlist it should take between 6-12 months for them to reach someone on their list. I have reached out to check that everything is okay to make sure the artist in question is still okay with doing my commission, and have been ignored for over 4 months, now. At one point I was even checking if an account on another website using their username was theirs and they ignored me on that front too. The artist is actively posting and engaging, as well as running multiple multi-slot YCH options while I've seen very little to no posts containing commissions. After being ignored for so long, and generally feeling disrespected by the artist I'm wondering if I should just cut my losses with them and ask to be removed from the waitlist, and if so should I do so via DM's or post something more public since they have so far ignored every message I've sent (I know this because when I sent a note via FurAffinity the message is still marked as unread)? Thank you for any and all advice on these matters.
  24. commenting to bump this - i found out fossilcurd is active on twitch, cara, and bluesky under the same username. they have been consistently ghosting myself and others for over two years. i'm really at the end of my rope and just want my files. as of yesterday, they have ignored my attempts to reach out to them.
