Currently this has been approved as a full on beware despite the seller working with the client on some sort of refund.  The Client was never shown a ToS that said 20% would be kept.  It is the responsibility of the seller to notify clients of a pet-friendly or smoking environment.

Product was listed by seller in multiple "dealers den" chatrooms on the app Telegram.  The product is a fursuit/costume head base made of upholstery foam primarily.  I was interested in the product and contacted the seller with inquiries.  I asked them "can you tell me more about it?" [image 1], and was only told the price, location of product for shipping costs, permissions with the product, and other materials provided.

This product was to be purchased from the seller, I would fix it up and make it into a character, and resell it once the product is completed.  This was understood by the seller, as we had discussions about my permissions with the base and the character it was to be made into.

Upon arrival, the product was not only crammed into a box that was too small [image 2; showing the size of the product and the box itself], but it also reeked of cigarette smoke.  Upon confrontation, the seller confirmed that their mother smokes in the house [image 3].  I cannot clean or sell a product that has been this exposed to cigarette smoke- it is a hazard.  There was an attempt to clean it before I contacted the seller with my complaint, which included drier sheets on the interior, and spray cleaner on the exterior.  Nothing seemed to help.

Seller also explained that they can only "do 20% nonrefundable on any refund"/"u will only get an 80% refund," but this was not provided in a Terms of Service beforehand (on Telegram or Paypal) and was not discussed whatsoever.  I did not feel comfortable following through with this offer, since it was given once I brought up a refund, and it is even less than what it originally sold for.

During our conversation, I also discovered that the seller is using a Paypal account that is not in her name [image 4].

I am providing buyer with a tracking number for the returned product.

As of April 22nd, Jaime claims to have re-sold the fursuit head base that is not even in her possession yet[images 5 & 6] (not until an expected April 25th).  Jaime managed to advertise that it comes from a smoke-friendly home [image 7], HOWEVER, Jaime refuses to do so in other ads [image 8].  Overall, extremely unprofessional, rude, and does not seem to care about the safety of their customers.

We were discussing this post in the mod chat and were all dismayed that this seller seems to think it's on you to ask about allergens.  It's the responsibility of the seller to do so.  Honestly, I hope you get a favorable resolution.  Someone like me would be SOL, because the mere presence of smoke smell aggravates my allergies.

I cannot believe the unprofessional actions of the seller. I'm a heavy asthmatic that if I even opened that box in my house I would be looking for my inhaler, but people who are worse off could possibly need a trip to the doctor's office during this pandemic.

It also sets off a ton of red flags about other issues mentioned such as a shared paypal and selling the base/head again before it was back in the seller's possession. It could get damaged in the mail, pieces could end up missing if the box gets opened in transit (breaking open due to rough handling, etc.), it could even be heavily delayed and not show up for a week after its delivery date leaving everyone involved wondering where it went (our local postal system is a week behind and currently too short staffed to keep the online trackers updated correctly).

Hopefully this will all resolve smoothly for you OP.

I also think just randomly bringing up 'somebody called me a liar' out of the blue is a red flag too.

As of 4/24, I've successfully argued with the mother (who owns the paypal) to give me the full refund.  I received it in full.  Although it took a LOT of annoying negotiating.

it really was, and i hesitated a lot when i saw that comment, but i was REALLY excited to get that deal of $200 for a base + furs.  hindsight, i should have nope-d out of it when she brought up the "liar" part, but i was blinded by the deal LOL.. it was on me and i've learned since then LMAOOO

Just want to bump this post since I had been scammed by this same Seller for a pay what you want commission about a year ago.  Just submitted my own beware and I hope it gets approved and posted.  It's a relief to me to see that I was not the only one that was negatively affected by this Seller. Shame on them, and BEWARE!
