About Me

  1. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/948168.html WHO: Dao on IMVU/DauxyCheeks on FA/Xashy on DA WHERE: This took place through Facebook through her personal profile. This is her IMVU account, the products were to be made and delivered through IMVU. IMVU for Dao My IMVU account, where the products were supposed to be delivered WHAT: This was for a custom furset for IMVU. Custom AdSkin, kini, ears, tail, hands, feet products. I sent her my reference and all of the mesh links she would need for the set. She said $30 was fine, I sent her $32. (As I normally send a couple of dollars more to cover fees) Here are the screenshots of our conversation that took place via Facebook. Dao1, Dao2, Dao3, Dao4 WHEN: I first contacted her December 5th of 2016, December 6th I canceled my order and was blocked, December 7th I filed a claim with PayPal, December 15th I received the email saying she provided tracking information and the case was closed, December 17th first appeal denied, the last email I received by from PayPal was March 23rd of 2017 saying that my second appeal complete with screenshots of my IMVU account was denied. PROOF: PayPal Case, First Appeal, Second Appeal, Blocked FB, Friends Only on IMVU, MY IMVU INV - SEARCHED, IMVU STAFF CONFIRMED NOTHING WAS SENT FROM DAO EXPLAIN: Well I posted an ad in one of the furry Facebook groups asking if anyone would be up to making a furset for me on IMVU. Dao (Facebook name omitted for privacy) messaged me via Facebook messenger and I sent her the mesh links and the cash for what I wanted. I had a personal emergency come up and needed to cancel. I felt bad for having to cancel, but I thought since she stated she had another set to finish before she got to mine maybe it would not be too bad. To my surprise, she tells me she finished the skin and already submitted it to the IMVU catalog without even showing me first. I was a little confused by that but decided if she could just show me proof/show me the skin then I would let her keep a portion for her work/time. That's when things got odd because she told me I was really putting her in a bind and that PayPal was where she paid her bills? I did not find that to be appropriate or relevant but it was right after she said she would "get that processed" for me that she blocked me. I tried typing out a response and I got the little pop-up message telling me "this person is not receiving message from you at this time". I honestly took that as a big red flag and consulted with my friends and family on what I should do/did. I waited a day for the refund/reversal and then just went to PayPal to make a claim. It was going to be a dispute but at the time since she had me blocked I thought a claim would be best. I waited until the 15th, that's when I got an email back from PayPal telling me the case had been closed because the seller (Dao) had provided tracking info and confirmed I received my merchandise. I was confused and very frustrated, it was a digital product I ordered. How could they have taken tracking info from her and say it's confirmed when I have proof showing I have nothing in my account from her? I decided to call again and appeal my case. It was shot down almost immediately, on the 17th they had denied my first appeal stating that the seller had provided "compelling information" for my case in their favor. In truth, I gave up for awhile. I figured she just won and I was never getting anything back. I just got ripped off for $32 for nothing. Then a few days ago I had to file a dispute for a totally different issue and the supervisor I spoke with said I should send more screenshots and appeal again. I didn't even know that was an option but I figured I might as well. After another hour or so on the phone the supervisor told me she would contact me directly. Well, that never happened and some representative named "Bob" sent me an email yesterday telling me my screenshots did not prove anything. So I guess I'm just posting this here in hopes to either have this resolved or at the very least share my experience with you guys/potential customers of hers.
  2. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/945938.html WHO: Vani / AshkechumSays / Stripesandteeth. Previously: Vanimute, VanillaKitsune WHERE: Twitter, we spoke briefly at MFF. WHAT: $150 MFF pick-up badge WHEN: Payment was sent on the 11th of November, - now, March 3rd. PROOF: All commission interactions : http://imgur.com/a/7VZlW Payment proof : http://imgur.com/a/LLcVd EXPLAIN: I commissioned Vani/Ash in early November for a badge that was supposed to be completed for MFF 2016 pick up . I was very excited to commission this artist, and sent the $155 (USD) right away. Once payment was made I was promised a WIP within the next few days (Proof of payment recieved, and saying I would recieve a wip shortly. http://imgur.com/YVrFzi9), I did not recieve a wip until the end of the month, after asking them for an update. (the 30th of November) After recieving a wip, I approved the sketch. I didn't hear anything up until the convention (even tho i send muitple DMs at the con) and actually approached her table. At their table they had nothing to show me (did not see the original sketch, or anything), and said they would be working on it that night, and it would most likely be done the next day. (Sunday) I did not hear anything from them until they was leaving the con. (Messages sent at the con, and afterwards. http://imgur.com/a/eQDqm) After the con I did not recieve any WIPs, or anything past the sketch point. We agreed to change the character on the 19th of December (character change, http://imgur.com/a/OAvZj) . I did not hear anything from them at all after this. I DMed them on twitter mutiple times from the 16th-22nd of Februrary and didn't hear anything back until threatening to file a charge back. They replied, with a several paragraph explaination of the things going on in their life, but no actual update on when the art would be finished, or what state badge was in. To this I responded that I would just like my money back, and would be going forward with a charge back. They asked that I wait a week for them to refund me, and that they would be posting adopts to make the money to refund me. Durring this week they did not post anything on their account (besides an astrology bot.). I also did not hear anything from them, or any sort of update on what they were doing. I proceeded with filing a paypal claim, and I'm just waiting to hear back for paypal. (contact with vani from the 16th - march 2nd, http://imgur.com/a/3sFAM ) I cannot reccomend this artist to anyone. unfortunately they are not very reliable and they does not stick to their word, or communicate with her customers. I am very disapointed, and while their work is gorgeous, please be warry of commissioning this artist. I wish I had seen their other bewares before commissioning them.
  3. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/944483.html WHO: Cuttleb0ne WHERE: twitter.com/cuttleb0ne WHAT: A plantigrade fullbody fursuit WHEN: Quote sent 12/28/15 Down payment sent 01/13/16 PROOF: Proof of all current payment Only wip I've ever recieved EXPLAIN: Cuttlebone quoted me $2,500 for a fursuit of my saber character with a payment plan of a 30% down payment and the remaining 70% due on completion. I was very excited for this commission so I sent the down payment on the 13th and told him that my only deadline was this coming MFF in December, expecting that this would be plenty of time to get things done. For a while things were going smoothly, I sent my DTD and some extra payments because I was nervous about making sure I could pay him all off on time, since I wasn't quite sure when he would be complete. I would ask for updates periodically, as there hadn't been any progress on the suit other than him sending me a picture of fur samples in June. He suddenly stopped responding to my inquiries from September to November link . When I finally got an update (no progress) I told him I didn't mind if just a partial were done by MFF, trying not to cause stress. He did not respond again until the weekend of MFF, telling me he had no progress, but was going to give me a schedule of when the parts would be done, hoping to finish the suit before the end of the year, I never got that schedule link . I asked for another update on January 12th and got no response, noticing that he was active on twitter I got a little flustered and sent a message saying that I was tired of having to fish for updates and that if he didn't want to do business with me anymore to let me know and we would talk about refunding. We agreed to continue the commission , but I stated that I would need weekly updates even if no progress had been made. He complied for about a week until I got no response from Jan 23rd to Feb 12th link and I had to threaten an AB and Paypal chargeback to get him to respond. I have currently been waiting since the 18th for a reply from him link . In conclusion, do not commission this maker if you don't want to have to threaten an AB to get a response. UPDATE 02/28 After letting him know about this AB and a dispute on one of my older payments (since it was the last day I could do it), along with firmly asking for a refund when I had previously asked him to decide whether he wanted to refund or continue, he replied and apologized for the unpleasant experience I had. He said he was unable to work on the suit due to not having access to materials. I confronted him about some suspicions I had that he was making premade suits, and he confirmed, stating that they were to refund other customers (and myself now). Currently I am waiting for a payment plan for the refund.
  4. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/944093.html WHO: Mew / Xionica (fursuit character name) WHERE: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/mew | https://www.furaffinity.net/user/xionica/ WHAT: Fursuit partial (being resold) - fursuit shown on their Xionica page. WHEN: Around March / April 2016 is when I first paid on it. July 9th was my last payment. PROOF: Everything is chronologically placed in my dropbox but I'll also post the links chronologically through the explanation as well. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7obu4yppo7mpeoc/AABEqW-37KC12Re0dkVVD1eDa?dl=0 Proof that Mew and Xionica are the same person: https://www.dropbox.com/s/r09u3mcg7kz3df4/proofxionica1.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/5qcv6ag4prt7ssy/proofxionica1-2.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/od0mn2v4b0gwu4t/proofxionica2.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/8w0zjqsaksgoeh6/proofxionica3.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/4glw9wo9b0zb8bp/proofxionica4.png?dl=0 She sent me art of the character that wasn't even posted on Xionica's account. She said that's where the fursuit was hosted and that she would sell account, char art, and the FurAffinity profile along with purchase. This proof shows that I made payments on it and that it was to her paypal she specified: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bvs314m94rqpr26/proof1.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ya9g567bal6x32x/proof2.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/zffc0bfpv3o68x1/proof3.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5yz7egwakzzfu2/proof4.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/gbdp8rktycbmpot/proof8.png?dl=0 - This was my final payment. EXPLAIN: I was scammed out of 107$ on a fursuit partial, being sold to me by Mew The story behind this: Originally I agreed to buy this fursuit partial from this person that I considered a friend because I wanted to help them out with bills + the design was VERY well detailed for only 500$ + extra art included. You can see the fursuit in question on her Xionica account. This was back before I had a job, having no means to pay for this fursuit but Mew told me I could do it if I just posted commissions / adopts / etc and eventually it would pile up to equal 500$. Every payment for the commissions was sent directly to Mew through her paypal email. It was to avoid paying a double fee for paypal. She was very adamant about making sure I paid her buyer's fee for her which is against Paypal's TOS but I thought since she was my friend it was okay. Because of this, most of my payments are either small increments of 5-20$ or were sent directly via commissioners to avoid taking so much out of fees. In total, from my actual paypal, I only sent her 9$ from my own account. This is an image showing she was calculating the fees she was receiving from my payments into the total purchase: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p7ubkcyszn826tx/proof7.png?dl=0 - "I'll let you know your total once I see the fees" That's when all the shit started happening in my life. Lots of my adopts and commissions wouldn't sell, highschool graduation, college, then medical stuff and I lost my job 2-3 months after being hired so now I'm disabled. But I always kept her updated to let her know what was happening and that I was just going through a rough patch in my life. https://www.dropbox.com/s/723gvbl09uhnjhg/proof9.png?dl=0 - as we were friends and I was helping her out because she needed money for bills, I thought she would understand. But then she sent me a message on Skype, January 30th of this year - saying it had been a YEAR since I paid.. which was a flat out lie, the last payment was 7 months ago on the proof images of 107$. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7oahsay2cmjxg9v/proof11.png?dl=0 She sent that to my skype probably knowing I was having skype issues because I talked about it often via statuses and I hadn't been online in forever (and MIA due to medical stuff) because I just couldn't sign on. At least 2 months of inactivity via my new skype. Plus she added my new skype from my status that told people my old skype wasn't working. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gtwae9im4w4dnx7/proof10.png?dl=0 She didn't bother to message me on FA or Toyhou.se or try to get into contact with me, choosing the most convenient way for her not to get a response. About 4 days after that message, I remembered about the partial and contacted her on Toyhou.se to let her know I was still interested. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1a0wd49julhef9w/proof12.png?dl=0 I asked if she had discord. It was obvious I didn't see her skype message at this time. Instead of telling me THERE about the fact that she wanted to resell the fursuit, she just curtly said "No, I do not." And tried to cut off all communication. https://www.dropbox.com/s/g627j3bphjymkq9/proof13.png?dl=0 She never responded to my second note where I said I would try to get skype working and that I really wanted to discuss the fursuit payment. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qof5t18qf9g42ex/proof14.png?dl=0 She read it but never responded. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0e0ik0yrtzta7ed/readnote2.png?dl=0 So I finally got Skype working today and what do you know? I stumble upon the message. https://www.dropbox.com/s/z2runvyncuqyqw6/proof15.png?dl=0 So I responded asking her to refund my 107$ payment if she was going to resell the fursuit, since I'm not getting my product. NO WHERE in our conversations was a deadline mentioned where I had to pay in full by, no downpayment agreed to.. it was just one friend slowly inching towards their goal to help another friend and to buy a fursuit. And guess what? SHE UNFRIENDS ME ON SKYPE 30 MIN LATER, as you can see by the "messaging disabled" on the bottom of that screencap. Perplexed, I messaged her on FA, telling her that I WILL force refund the payments or sue her over this matter. You can't just take 107$ of my money and run off with it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qmcmv7y636wl81k/proof16.png?dl=0 I also suggested that if she didn't have the money to pay, she could trade me a character I saw on her Toyhou.se that would be worth the price (plus she was selling it anyways) and I could come to an agreement after that, because it was some form of product. She read that never responded, has been active uploading art so I'm done. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2a8pdbnvrtjiuhd/readnote1.png?dl=0 So after this TL;DR.. Mew is a scammer. She took 107$ of my money that was put down for a fursuit, and she ran off with it. She refuses to respond to me so it's clear I have to take this matter into my own hands with the public. I'm gonna post this in hopes that she'll never be able to scam anyone else out of their money again and so that maybe, just maybe she'll give me back my money or gives me something of equal value.. because I don't think this will settle well with a paypal dispute, even with the proof images from skype because all the money was sent directly from my commission / adopt buyers.
  5. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/939553.html WHO: Aschenblute WHERE: http://aschenblute.deviantart.com/ deviantart http://www.furaffinity.net/user/aschenblute/ furaffinity Also goes by derwolfsmantel WHAT: Collab commissions between myself and Aschenblute: they never completed their portions. I covered the full cost of refunds in art myself, leaving me out of pocket for their half - $115USD for four commissions (3 at a full price of $50 and one at $30). A 5th commission with a mutual friend was also refunded for my half. Difficulties trying to get their half of the refunds back from them throughout last year follow. WHEN: Aschenblute and I originally posted the commission journals on our furaffinity accounts on March 31st 2015. Asked if I should refund clients on 22nd November 2015. Confirmed amount owed on 31st January 2016. Numerous emails requesting payment sent July 2016-November 2016, largely without response. Received partial payments for furniture on August 21st + Nov 12th 2016. PROOF: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6621441/ My journal post about collab commissions. All of their related posts have since been deleted. https://www.dropbox.com/s/tdcrriy5mmx1142/artistsbeware1.png?dl=0 My email asking about issuing commission refunds + their response. https://www.dropbox.com/s/eprp8mlkq7oepgr/artistsbeware8.png?dl=0 PM with one of the commissioners involved (+ who had other commissions Asche owed) saying they had previously contacted Asche with no response. Asche never told me about this. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2fv6nh9qfob8ye4/artistsbeware2.png?dl=0 Email + response first requesting payment to cover their half of refund. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hk3shcpp9ja87at/artistsbeware3.png?dl=0 Emails from a few months later after second contact cut requesting payment. https://www.dropbox.com/s/shvar7fscdljdvd/artistsbeware4.png?dl=0 Paypal payment for unrelated amount with Asche giving a payment schedule (no contact via email, just paypal) https://www.dropbox.com/s/y7pihv5r2561v40/artistsbeware5.png?dl=0 Emails 4 + 5 weeks after no agreed payments, their response giving a new, much longer, payment schedule https://www.dropbox.com/s/uqc2gsxg9z9c338/artistsbeware6.png?dl=0 End of emails from last image + my most recent email EXPLAIN: My FA account is DoodlebugV1. When this started, Asche was a good friend and roommate. Despite them having a backlog of commissions already, we decided to do collab commissions through a forum we were both members of at the time. The tasks we enjoyed corresponded well - I liked sketching and colouring; they liked lining and shading. We completed the first lot in addition to two adoptables without issue, except for one client who wasn’t sure about subject matter and was to get back to us. Since the first batch went well, we opened a second lot through FurAffinity and filled up the slots as of March 31st 2015. (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/6621441/) I completed the sketches for all the pieces within a couple of weeks and had sent them all to Asche for lining. We split up the money as it came in 50/50. Half a year later, my Canadian Visa ran out and I had to move back to Australia. Without going into too much detail, my relationship with Asche also became rocky. In November 2015, due to the length of time since we’d taken the commissions (8 months) and the state of our personal relationship, I asked about giving refunds for the collab commissions since no progress had been made since my sketches. Asche approved the refund idea but didn’t help with any of the organization, and as far as I’m aware never contacted anyone themselves. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/tdcrriy5mmx1142/artistsbeware1.png?dl=0) I responded but didn't hear from them beyond this. Worried about my own reputation, I went ahead and contacted the commissioners. I apologized and offered to cover everything myself in full. I sent the sketches and asked each client if they'd prefer a monetary refund or art by me of the same value they'd paid originally (reminder: I only saw half that money in the first place). Everyone except a mutual friend (who I refunded with my half, and they were to talk to Asche about the rest) said they'd prefer art. These were all completed within a few weeks, and I'm very appreciative to all the commissioners and the positive feedback they gave despite the wait. Also during this contact, one commissioner told me they had previously attempted to contact Asche about this and other commissions Asche owed them. I had never been informed of this by Asche. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/eprp8mlkq7oepgr/artistsbeware8.png?dl=0) A couple of months after everything was done (31st January 2016), I sent Asche an email listing what they owed me for covering their half of the refunds (in USD), as well as money owed for some unrelated costs (in CAD, raised here only in regards to layout of payment schedules and methods Asche used to contact me). They hadn’t done any work on the commissions but were still paid half for them. I was surprised when they actually responded. They apologised for dumping all of it on me, said they wanted to be friends, and that they would pay me back but couldn't immediately as they didn't have a job. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/2fv6nh9qfob8ye4/artistsbeware2.png?dl=0) I replied saying ok, that I'd give them a couple of months to pay it. In the following months we became friends again, and they got a new job, but I didn't ask after the money as I knew they were moving. Asche brought it up once in a brief apology and followed by saying they should sort out refunds for other commissions taken 1-2 years prior. A couple of months after getting their job/moving, my contact with Asche became very limited and strained again. In July, communication was cut, and I sent an email asking for the money. They didn't respond. Over the next couple of months I sent more emails with no response until I told them that if I didn't receive a response in a week I would be posting here on AB. They sent me a partial payment for the unrelated costs through paypal on August 21st 2016 with a brief note in the payment details saying that they would be paying in intervals every 2 weeks. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/hk3shcpp9ja87at/artistsbeware3.png?dl=0 + https://www.dropbox.com/s/shvar7fscdljdvd/artistsbeware4.png?dl=0) When 4 weeks had passed since this with no further payment or contact, I sent an email asking for an update (21st Sep 2016). No reply. I sent another email a week later, and finally received an email telling me money was tight (27th Oct 2016). I requested dates for when I would be paid back. They said the remainder of the money for the unrelated costs would be settled by the end of 2016, with the full amount of their commission refund costs by the end of February 2017 (since the money for refunds is to be in USD, the currency the commissions were originally taken in, “because of the conversion rates” they would take longer). They also confirmed they would update me if this changed. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/y7pihv5r2561v40/artistsbeware5.png?dl=0) They sent another partial payment for the unrelated costs on Nov 12 with no further communication attached. As per the second schedule they set out, the unrelated payments should currently be complete and so the payments for the art refunds started - by the first schedule the commission refunds should be long paid for. But I've received no payments or contact since, and payment for the commission refunds has yet to start a year after Asche was give the final figure. My last attempted contact was asking for an update on Jan 13th 2017, with nothing back.
  6. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/937553.html WHO: xbeansrepublicx, Bean, king beano beano, _Selshocktattoo_, beanscraftsforever WHERE: https://www.instagram.com/xbeansrepublicx/ WHAT: 1 Full colour single character commission WHEN: Commissioned artist on Sept 20th 2016. After a lot of back and forth, asked for a refund on Dec. 7th 2016. Opened a Paypal Claim Dec 22 2016. Refunded by Paypal on Jan 2 2017. PROOF: WARNING FOR CRUDE LANGUAGE BY ARTIST http://imgur.com/ek3mvk7 http://imgur.com/KHztYU7 Here are the DMs about the commission's beginning and leading up to my requesting a refund. http://imgur.com/MT2bgUA http://imgur.com/2jYQQG5 While I was waiting for my commission, they posted these two rants, which made me nervous. http://imgur.com/t8fty7t "No Refunds" When I commissioned them, they didn't link me to a TOS (or have one posted), then they posted this and alarm bells went off. http://imgur.com/IEG3Zje "Packages Damaged" Artist says packages were damaged, doesn't answer if one was mine or provide photos. While I understand things can go wrong in the mail, I'm skeptical of this circumstance, as she never provided proof even when I asked. http://imgur.com/wn0jvbG The rest is pretty much summed up in this email. http://imgur.com/LtJTaH5 "No more commissions ever" After agreeing to refund me, they post this. http://imgur.com/1jx5yCL http://imgur.com/6xwZeMS I message them through paypal directly, and when they don't respond I escalate to a claim. I am issued a refund by Paypal, not the artist. EXPLAIN: Mostly covered in the "proof" section. I commissioned Beano, they started the piece, but never showed me the finished version. I asked for a scan and tracking number, they didn't provide either. They said they received the packages back to their address damaged. I asked for photos and they did not provide them. I never saw the commission completed. I asked for a refund, they agreed but did not issue it. I had to open a dispute with paypal in order to get my money back. It's concerning because Instagram is so easy to switch usernames and dodge customers. They don't appear to use any other site so it would be easy to change their handle, but there's nothing I can do but post about this one. 😕
  7. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/935156.html WHO: 0cean/Loreisle WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/0cean/ http://www.furaffinity.net/user/loreisle/ WHAT: 5 colored digital pictures. WHEN: Aug. 17th PROOF: Proof of payment. Proof of agreement to her terms. EXPLAIN: So originally I bought a sketchbook commission slot from the artist for $100 back in October of 2015. After paying for the sketchbook I had given her a list of my characters I wanted in the book and choosing a book we both like I made sure to keep a somewhat constant communication with her. Eventually the artist went through a huge rough patch that including moving and a few more personal things. This delayed my commission severely, but I was more that understanding. I did check in with her every so often and was kept up to date. (1, 2, 3, and 4.) Eventually I did receive my sketchbook, but since it wasn’t everything promised in the original agreement that artist offered me 5 digital color pictures and I accepted. I gave my first four back in August of this year and later gave the fifth a little while later. Since giving my ideas I’ve kept in contact and check the status once in a while. (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11.) For the last few months the artist has been doing multiple ych’s and getting them done in a few weeks. One of which I myself bought and had before any of the five pictures. (12) I try to be patience and not rush artists when I commission them, but it just upsets me to see others get their art a few days later where as I’ve been waiting months. Honestly a beware on this artist is really the last thing I wanted to do. She was one of the first I ever commissioned and has always been pleasant to work with whenever I do. Not even sure if this will even count as a beware. As of now I have one out of the five and have been told the others have been sketched out. (13 and 14) Current Mood: pointless UPDATE 12/2/2016: Artist has uploaded second picture of the list. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21886371/ UPDATE 12/28/2016: Okay so I doubt anyone will see this update. I submitted an update post to the mods and am waiting for approval, but in the meantime I have something new that came after I submitted said update. I finally managed to a reply from 0cean and this is what I get. Firstly I want to say this may just be me, but the whole note came off as entirely rude. I also want add that this reply came after I had to track her down on a DA account she did have listed anywhere. She did even respond to the pm there, but to one I sent a week ago on FA. So after not hearing anything for almost a month I get a rude note. If that isn't bad enough I found she was very active on this new account doing free art stream, adopts, art trades, and personal art. Funny thing is that nowhere on any of her account do it mention lost programs in fact her accounts haven't been active in almost 4 weeks. Clearly if she was active there she could have done some kind of update. I get everyone has a life, but clearly she had the means of updating people. [Misunderstanding] In response to my last edit about the Journal it seems it wasn't about me. She just happened to have posted it about people from an art stream shortly after I asked for and update. Huge mistake on my part there.

Was contacted later that it could not be finished so refund could either be given or trades for the amount owed up to 4 items, no matter what they would be. Jan. 17th, 2014 - Initially commissioned for a custom printed bandanna for an ex-friend of mine. Was told that also could not be completed and refund was set to happen so refund could either be given or trades for the amount owed up to 1 item, no matter what they would be, and included with offer above. Oct. 24, 2014 - Refund was offered, but then was receded and not sent due to them not being able to at the time. Again, the refund was switched to the offers stated above with at least 5 things I would want to get no matter what they are. Oct. 7, 2016 - After the purchase of another character from someone else, I had asked for a small reference sheet change based on a character purchased from someone else. Was told that it would take 2-3 weeks for them to finish. I had also asked about doing two reference sheets: 1 for a reference sheet for a character I am getting a suit of and 1 edit for the reference sheet above at 0ct. 7, 2016. On Nov. 21, I had found out I was blocked on twitter when going to contact about the reference sheet to ask if it was completed as of yet so I could send it to a maker. In wanting to know why I was blocked, I had asked my boyfriend to contact the artist and ask what the reason I was blocked if they needed to get in contact me with a commission. They had said they did not need to tell me and would contact me when the commission was over with. At this point and time, I did not wish to get the commission anymore as not only am I not able to contact them on the main handle I handle my commissions I get from others, but without giving an adequate reason to this block. The time had also been too long, and as a business transaction, as this is treated for only at this point, I only want my refund from this artist. I am in the process of getting the refund back and was told it would be after Thanksgiving. The guess, since I am not able to contact them myself, nor have they contacted me, is Friday November 25th, 2016. **Update** Was told to my bf that I would be refunded within exactly 2 weeks. Keeping aware and if it is not fufilled by the allotted time, it will be taken up with paypal and chargeback will be filed. Proof: Clarity needed for amount to refund: http://sta.sh/025yfc2xbae5 Amount Clarified and Time for Refund Given: http://sta.sh/01htskdo0p90 **Update** Jinxsis had stated to my bf that they would give me the refund by the night of Decemver 9th. They still have not given back the refund, even when she stated she would have been sending the refund this week by the previous claim. By December 12th, the paypal charge claims will be filed on them by the end of the day. I hopefully will get my money back by then.</b> Proof: Asked on clarity of refund / problem to why she didn't send it 12/09/2016 or 12/10/2016: http://sta.sh/0egnyrdcw6n **Update** Jinxsis has not contacted myself or my boyfriend about the refund being sent through paypal since Sunday, so a charge back on the most recent purchase has been filed. Hopefully with this, the refund will happen and this can be resolved. Proof: Paypal Dispute: http://sta.sh/0940tovtds5 **Proof** So, after chargeback was completed and paid for the $10, my bf had asked about the account and if it was able to have the rest of the money sent that Jinxsis had said above (proof of clarity for 12/09/16 - 12/10/2016). However, as it seems, they do not have the money anymore and will be sending the money within a few days (again). So the money will be sent a few days before the holiday. It is confusing at this point and feels as though they are stalling to give back a refund at this point. I still have not had any personal contact with them at all, as said that they would do. So, once more, I have to wait for a refund for hopefully 2-3 more days. Proof: http://sta.sh/02ehgxnsqjgz **UPDATE** Still, there was no communication directly to me about any of this situation and delay of refund dates have happened. As of today, December 27th, 2016, I have received back my refund for all items I had previously commissioned. It is considered resolved. Never again will I commission this person and if you do, please be weary of communication as well as their intake of commissions. I hope no one else has to go through this.
  9. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/927928.html EDIT: Added title! WHO: https://twitter.com/gorehund / http://www.furaffinity.net/user/gorehund WHERE: Commission started over Twitter initially, then contact migrated to Telegram. WHAT: A traditional badge to be finished by AC, two stickers, then a digital icon as compensation for trouble WHEN: Started May 20, 2016, ended September 22, 2016 PROOF: I will link proof throughout the explanation, but here is the entire imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/PiTG5 EXPLAIN: On May 20, 2016, gorehund opened on Twitter for badge commissions for AC pickup or mail. I really enjoyed their art style and wanted to commission them, so I responded to their tweet. They told me I got the slot and asked me to DM my ref and provided their PayPal email. I sent them my ref and desired expression. I also told them that I was interested in AC pickup and they responded that they would have it ready for me. Proof of payment I left the artist alone for a while. On June 19, they posted a photo of badge sketches on Twitter. I was thrilled to see that they had been working on it! Fast forward to Anthrocon (June 30-July 3). They posted on Twitter that they would be in the Artist's Alley Saturday and Sunday, so I stopped in on Sat, July 2. I asked about picking up my badge and they told me that they didn't have it done yet but they did show me their sketchbook with the badge sketches. They hadn't progressed any further than the previous photo but they said they could finish and ship it to me after the con. On August 3, I sent them a Twitter DM asking about my badge because I had heard nothing since AC. I got no response for several days, so I tweeted them publicly on Aug 8, letting them know I had sent them a message. They responded to me after that tweet with their Telegram username which is where the rest of our communication took place. I sent them a message on Telegram and they responded quickly. They said they planned to finish it and have it shipped the following week. I sent another message on the following Tuesday, asking if my badge was still on track to be finished. They answered with "Yep!" and I left it at that. True to their word, the badge was finished on Aug. 19 and posted to Twitter. I was so excited to see the finished product and messaged them on telegram, expressing my happiness with the badge and asking when it would be shipped. They said they would get it out on Monday, Aug. 22. I asked if I may buy some of their high-yeena design stickers and have them sent with my badge. They asked me if I could buy the stickers through their Storenvy for inventory purposes and I didn't have a problem with that. I purchased the stickers through Storenvy on Aug. 19 and added a note to ship them with my badge. On Aug 25, I got an automated email from Storenvy, stating that my stickers had been shipped. On Aug 27, I messaged gorehund because I hadn't heard a word about my badge even though the stickers were shipped. I made sure to mention that I put a note in my sticker order to ship them with my badge. They said they didn't see the note but said they'd ship my badge the following Monday (Aug 29). I asked if I could get tracking because at this point they had told me twice already that they would ship my badge and they hadnt, but they were able to ship my stickers promptly. They said that they could get tracking for the badge. On Aug 30, I received the stickers in the mail and asked gorehund if they had gotten the chance to ship my badge like they said they would on monday. They answered and told me that they were out running errands right then, and would be shipping it. I received the badge on September 8 and let them know. Out of curiosity, I looked at the postmark on the envelope and it states that the badge was shipped on Sept 6. So I was outright lied to by gorehund regarding shipping. I also noticed that there was no tracking number. I started to notice a few imperfections on the badge and the longer I looked, the more things I saw: Food crumb under lamination Stray crumbs and lint laminated to the back Piece of lint in the "A" and an orange stain on the white cheek A curly hair laminated to the back I messaged gorehund and brought this up to them. The orange stain wasn't in the photo of the unlaminated badge, so something happened between finishing the badge and the lamination that resulted in all of the imperfections. I asked if it would be possible to peel the lamination off and somehow clean the badge but they told me that they tried it with an old badge laying around and that the lamination sticks to the paper. They expressed remorse and offered to make another badge for me, but I declined that offer because it seemed unfair. I asked if I may be compensated with something small like a digital icon because I figured it wouldn't take much time. They said an icon would be fine and they could possibly finish it that night, if not the next day. They reached out to me 2 days later on Sept 10, saying that they contracted a cold but said they would try to finish it that night. I hadn't heard anything from them so 6 days later, I sent a message asking for an update around noon. They read my message but did not respond, so about 6 hours later, I poked them again, asking for any sort of response. They told me they would have it done the following night (Sept 17). I didn't hear anything from them, so I asked for another update on Sept 18. They said they were working on it right then. Later that week (Sept 22), I asked for yet another update at about 6AM. I wasn't expecting a fast response to that since it was so early, but they did not respond to me until about 10:30 at night. They sent a sketch with no words, no apology for the wait, no explanation whatsoever. I thanked them, and they responded with the finished icon about half an hour later. Again, no apology or explanation or anything. Considering how polite they had been with me before, I was surprised to have an icon figuratively thrown at me wordlessly. This transaction is complete and I have received everything I've paid for but after being lied to, told my badge would be shipped multiple times, and being told that the icon would be finished on multiple occasions but wasn't, I cannot recommend this artist to anybody. Their art style is wonderful but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired and I do not want anybody else to have to deal with this kind of service.

First character sheet was completed around February 2014. The artist was then left to complete the rest of the commission. Personal life upheavals ensued in mid 2014, and I did not have the time to check in on the artist’s progress. No attempt was made by the artist to contact me from that time to this. In May 2016 I re-established contact with the artist, who seemed agreeable to finishing the commission. Subsequent attempts to contact them, though their DA account, Skype and private messaging on their Picarto stream yielded no response. Only in September 2016, when asking to speak via the public chat on their Picarto, did they reply. At that point I was told that they wanted to do something, but that they neither had the money to refund the remainder of the commission payment, nor the time to finish the commission. No practical means of achieving a resolution was offered. The dispute is ongoing.

WHEN: Started on 03/11/2015 and is still ongoing. PROOF: Posted down below. EXPLAIN: March 11th-16th, 2015 I saw Moneychan was doing a really nice 'Strip gamer YCH', the quality of the piece was a ladder auction and she has wrote what the tiers were in another journal. (Which has since been deleted) The highest tier was full coloured and set at an auto-buy of 1,000$. She stated in the description if the bidding went over 500 she would take payment plans. I won with a bid of 600$ (I'm not 100% sure but I believe the tier was flat coloured sketch) and she responded telling me to note her with refs and such. I sent her a note with character references and my Paypal and discussed a payment plan with her. She told me she would send me two invoices and I could pay half now and send the other half within the 2 month limit. I sent her my first half (300$) and she confirmed receiving it. Note: https://gyazo.com/22d3426cf14b5dbce30e59d32e402d96 March 28th-30th, 2015 I sent her a note to her 'owed artwork' account because I thought she would want to speak on that one asking when she would be working on my commission. It went unread despite being active and she was also active on her main account so I thought I would note her there as well. She replied telling me that she would start on it when she got a chance and that there we're two comics ahead of me as well. October 5th, 2015 I didn't see her active online again until around October but in September my partner at the time and I had a 'falling out' and we're no longer together and I didn't want to have my character in a comic with his anymore. I noted her asking if she could change the male character to my pet's sona and explained the situation to her. She replied telling me that she was sorry about what had happened and told me she was already into the flat colouring stage (I hadn't received any WIPs or news that she was even working on it) and that to change the character would take longer. I told her that I didn't mind waiting and that I would really like for her to change the character. She replied telling me that she appreciated my patience and would do it. She responded saying that 'the comic commissions are the last things on her to-do list' and that she had 5 comics in total to complete. Last time I had spoke to she had told me she had only two ahead of mine and as I said above she had already posted a comic since then so I asked her about that. She responded saying 'it is two, yours and another commissioner' and that the others we're from another strip auction and that she was including her own personal comic as one. Following notes: https://gyazo.com/64a476f33e402e70788d9de528a261c3 https://gyazo.com/1e6119253cd562296907b39bde33f21c March 30th-31st, 2016 She sent me a note saying that she was working on my comic and was asking about if I had any png's for my (now) mates fursona's tattoo's. I replied to her telling her that I didn't and in a second note asked if she had any WIPs (I assumed she would have since I would think tattoo's would be in the colouring phase) and after sending that one my mate had mentioned that it would be okay for her to just trace over his tattoos so I sent her a third one telling her that as well. She told me that she was nervous about sending out WIPs but she would try to clean them up a bit and send them out as 'she's made me wait so long.' I responded to her telling her I was looking forward to seeing them. When I enabled it I sent her a message checking in to see if she tried noting me. She responded saying that it was fine and that she just wanted to note me to tell me she would be clean sketching and line-arting the comic tomorrow. I told her that if she had any WIPs she wanted to send I would love to see them but if not it would be fine. She replied 'kk' and never sent me anything. Following notes: https://gyazo.com/6693ce191fd42b4e0279b2fc287cd37a https://gyazo.com/6ed6a6dee6a4e070fd355d36ab64fd58 July 17th, 2016 I hadn't heard from her in three months and was starting to get worried. I noted her telling her I needed some sort of physical update as it had been over a year since I commissioned it and three months since I last heard from her. She responded saying that she was sorry and didn't really have any physical proof besides sketches that she had 'barely started on'and that she was finishing all the pinup commissions she had taken and finishing someone else's commission who was ahead of me. Her priority now was mine and Lil-Maj's comic but she was lacking motivation and that they had been just sitting on Sai 'waiting to be done' and asked me if I still wanted to see the sketches. I told her that I would even if they we're just sketches. She replied with a Dropbox link leading to the first two comic pages very roughly sketched and the second one wasn't even done being sketched out. I was honestly shocking as I was expecting her to at least had all of the pages sketched out as she had not only told me that she was all the way up to colour before I changed the second character but told me she was up to lining even after the character change. I bit my tongue and tried to ignore the fact that she had been lying to me and just told her about how I had a new reference sheet that was in the works that was clearer than my previous one and sent it to her in case she needed it to help with sketching. We talked back and forth about my fursona's markings a bit before this conversation had ended. They don't show any genitals but there are breast outlines and such) September 19th, 2016 I was updating my commissions list when I decided to go to her profile to ask for an update and to my horror her page had been disabled. I had to dig through my notes to find her other account's name which is still enabled. She hasn't uploaded anything on it since April and last favourited something a month ago. I sent her a note telling her that I was upset that she had disabled her account and that I had to dig to find her other one as she hadn't left any contact information otherwise and told her about all the red flags she was setting off. I told her that I either wanted my commission done by October 31st (my birthday) or a refund as this is getting ridiculous. Note: https://gyazo.com/41e4e36c0eb71490448b667e7305cdf6 It's now September, 21st and the note has been read but unanswered. I'm honestly very upset about this as this is a large sum of money that I may not get back. I have no idea what to do. Edit: I publicly tweeted them as they do not have dm's enabled. "I am once again trying to get into contact with you over the 1,000$ commission I am owed. Please message me on my fa asap." I also messaged them on DA saying... "I saw that you read my note and haven't responded and have been active on here as well as twitter so I will message you again here. Please respond with how to plan to correct this as I've been more than fair about it." Here's hoping. Edit 2: She responded to me on twitter saying that 'she hadn't been on fa since she disabled it back in June' and that she would Dm me. She dm'd me saying she was sorry about how long she was taking but she was busy with her fulltime job and was trying to finish commissions as quick as possible. I stood my ground and told her that Fa showed she read my message and that I know she is working but I will have to still set a deadline. She understood but asked me to delete my public tweet to avoid drama. I gave her my deadline and deleted the tweet and told her I would be capping it. Tweet: https://gyazo.com/156138889e14a71f73f52b8e4ba052d5 Messages: https://gyazo.com/33c2175eae24792b48d48259712f3094 I now realize I probably shouldn't have told her about the capping but I was quite aggravated that she claimed she hadn't been on fa when my note had been read. I guess I will have another update by the deadline to whether or not this is resolved. Edit 3. I caught her streaming on the 20th and she did personal work for a good while, I came back in a few hours later and saw she was working on the second panel of the comic but she had replaced the hand drawn panel of the video game with a screenshot from a video game. I told her that it rubbed me the wrong way seeing as I paid for every single one of those panels and she replied saying that 'she was only trying to make the comic get done faster but she would redraw it. I later saw her screenshotting a panel from another video game. (Not sure if she was doing it for the comic or something else) She did most of the page but left out my characters wings, horns and piercings so I noted her about it on fa. She told me she was going to do those last. Her using the game shot for the panel: https://gyazo.com/071c1ac06d04897bd94dfa04600b7dbd Her screenshotting a different game: https://gyazo.com/7f940db691e291196d5a0c11bcb1f51e Note: https://gyazo.com/cffbefa443fb8755f42007363fe9d286 It's now the 1st of November and as you can guess, she hasn't done it. I saw that she was streaming last night right before I was going to bed but it was my birthday so I was too tired to drag myself back to my computer to see if she was doing it and just assumed that if she was finishing it I would have woken up to a note from her or something. I'm honestly aggravated to hell and back so I noted her as nicely as I could possibly managed and went to go leave her another tweet to find out -surprise surprise- She blocked me on Twitter and has now set her Tweet to private. My mate -aggravated as well- has since tweeted at her and will not be removing these tweets. Since then she has not reached out at all. I have emailed four times with no reply. The payment was made using my debit card, in person, not PayPal. The reason for the two purchases is because, at first, she did not charge me for the right type of commission ($80). We then ran another $20 transaction to meet the proper $100 amount.
  13. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/926291.html Update Nov-16-2016: rach failed to pay the invoice. When this was pointed out the answer was not acceptable (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByLJuia-w3WYZk9icnZtX0k2bnc). Basically "I've got plenty of people asking, you'll get your turn." And somehow I'm now the bad person (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByLJuia-w3WYdDlkcFdLcHFoV3M) WHO: rachVerity WHERE: (NSFW) http://www.furaffinity.net/user/rachverity/ WHAT: $200 (Split $125 me/$75 Fischer) Art bundle to assist rach when her PC died. Bundle included a reference sheet and three pieces of digital art. WHEN: May 15th, 2014 PROOF: Paypal payment: http://imgur.com/rPhp9wV EXPLAIN: When rach had a computer issue she sold art bundles for $200 each to get out of the hole. Fischer and I went in to help her out and enjoy some art together. We knew this was low priority art (that had been agreed to) but it was art that was going to be done eventually. After a year (which made it too late for us to get paypal refunds) we'd asked about it and was told it was going to be done (http://imgur.com/7AscovM). We gave her the benefit of the doubt and went with it. Somewhere around here Fischer and I did another shared commission and covered my bit so I assumed the whole $200 debt. Eventually I got fed up and asked for a refund and that was agreed to with a payment plan. That seemed reasonable (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByLJuia-w3WYYlZ5VjJsd2xVQW8). Unfortunately the payments never came. At this point I check in monthly so as not to be rude or a pest but it hasn't helped.(https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByLJuia-w3WYNFVTYnBtb3Jjenc) I've finally sent rach an invoice for the full amount but have not received anything payment wise, just words. At this point I have no idea what to do. $200 is a lot of money to just lose. This is, more or less, my last effort. (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByLJuia-w3WYTDFvVl85TGxyN2M)
  14. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/925839.html EDIT 11/2/2016: Received both sketches in the mail this past Monday as well as one of the WIPs that was not chosen to be completed. With a lot of poking and prodding, I can happily say this entry is now resolved. EDIT 10/22/2016: Received the second sketch this week! They actually ended up redoing the WIP of the second, doing two different versions which was super cool http://sta.sh/01937bqah6te http://sta.sh/0t3usskymsy (and will be getting the wips sent to me along with the finished sketches). So here's the finished product! http://sta.sh/0vujuwdnoqh It turned out absolutely fantastic, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the result. I was also told that the sketches would be shipped out sometime this week. Waking up today, I got notified that both sketches and all the WIPs have been shipped and was provided with a tracking number. Once I post another update receiving the sketches, I'll ask for this post to be marked as resolved. - EDIT 10/7/2016: I'm assuming the artist knew about the dispute automatically closing on the 4th if it was not issued to a claim. So in spite of that, they did complete one sketch on Monday ( http://sta.sh/017w66edr8e2 ). I have to say, it turned out really beautiful, and makes me super pumped to see how the next one turns out too. They added a bit of extra detail to it too, to make up for all this trouble, which was nice, although since then I have not heard anything back about the second one. Not only that but I only received a photo of the sketch..no high res scan (though I wasnt expecting one as I did pay for the physical copies to be mailed to me as well). I don't know..I'll send another message asking for an update this weekend..but I'm really hoping they don't decide to just..ditch now, considering the dispute is now closed and I can never reopen it again if I don't receive the second sketch or the physical copies of both. We'll see...but I'll continue to keep you all posted. - EDIT 9/14/2016: Issued a dispute over PayPal. Artist immediately contacted me via Twitter and has agreed upon a completion date, that being towards the end of the month. (https://www.dropbox.com/s/if8mxpaqzt3horm/Screen%20Shot%202016-09-14%20at%206.47.48%20PM.png?dl=0 ) If I do not receive an update, refund, or the artwork itself, I will be getting PayPal involved by filing a claim. - EDIT 9/12/2016: Added some examples of what the finished sketches SHOULD look like to dropbox! But anyway! Always been a fan of Vani's work, and seeing that they were offering sketches for a good price got me super excited to finally order something featuring my characters. June: Communication started off really well! I knew they were taking a lot of commissions, so I honestly wasn't worried about how long they'd take, as I am a very patient person. An agreement for the final paymet was made, and commission progress began. Within a couple weeks, I received WIPs. They DEFINITELY didn't seem as good as her previous sketched portraits she was doing..I could tell they were likely feeling burnt out, but I didn't bother judging too hard as they are just WIPs. Still looking forward to the final pieces. July: Towards the end of June she gave me a good long update about how they'll be busy prepping to sell at a convention, therefore making a delay on the sketches. Completely fine with that, as I had seen the roughs so I knew they'd get done in no time..or so I thought. Sent in an update of a reference for one of my characters...no response whatsoever, even though they were/are on twitter quite frequently. If you check their twitter account, this was also around the time their troubles rose and they began taking on more commissions, creating adoptables and selling them, trying to earn more money and moving old commissions, including mine, back in their queue. August: Tried contacting them again for an update. Finally got a response; a lengthy one at that, which I honestly don't care about. I just want to know a time estimate for completion. This was when their housing troubles and whatever else were brought to me personally, though I already sort of knew about based on their twitter posts. I come back rather short, as my frustration began kicking in, knowing they clearly have time to work on my commissions, but is yet, focusing on others, new orders at that, in order to make quick money. I bring up the option of a refund (partial, considering they did have WIPs completed), because at this point I'm doubting itll ever get done and I'd rather give my money to an artist more reliable and professional, despite how talented Vani is. No means for refund at given time, so we agree that the following week she'll have them done, and once again, I remain patient with them. September: At this point I'm just fed up and frustrated. Way past the date we agreed for completion, so I ask for a refund. Comes back saying they're completely unable to, yet, oh look! In one of the screenshots I provide, they just received money from a recent auction, but yet, still can't refund me my portion of payment for the pieces I commissioned from them (no idea how much the Auto Buy went for in the auction, clearly a lot more then the previous bid though). At this point I stop replying. I'm not getting my money back, my art will not be completed. If it's done, it'll be a miracle, but for now, I HIGHLY recommend NOT commissioning this artist until they smarten up, sorts out their financial situations and develop a better professional attitude when doing business with clients such as myself. I've spoke with other friends who have commissioned them and they're also waiting on art from them (though at a much longer wait period than myself) and they're equally frustrated. I'm just completely disappointed in this whole situation, and definitely don't want others going through this with her as well. I'm fine waiting long periods of time for art, but when I see her posting more art, adoptables, commissioning openings, etc, its like a big slap in the face to those still waiting on art from them.

So wanted to do a beware on this artist before, but before I could he deactivated all account he had so I though it was pointless until I ran into him again yesterday under a new name. Anyway it started when said artist uploaded multiple ych's one which I bought for $30. Things seems normal at first. Noted him on FA a month later about my commission. Turns out he never started because he didn't know their genders. Was a bit annoyed for two reasons. One being that he waited a month to ask and may have waited longer had I not messaged him and the second because their genders looked to be clear in the references and I told him the first time he asked. Never the less told him and wait yet another month and asked about a trello or something like that. Never got an answer to my commission question. Later tried messaging him again to find his FA deactivated. Immediately went to pay palpay to file a claim. Few days later get an email asking if I want a refund or the art. I chose the refund and was asked it I could wait until Tuesday. Later gives me some bullshit about Paypal locking him out of the transaction and that he will send the money from a new account after I drop the claim. If anyone knows paypal like me you know that once a claim is closes it can't be reopened and it he did send the money he could then do a charge back claiming it wasn't him. That was a HUGE red flag and I stop talking to him all together and let paypal take it from there. In the end got my money back. Fast forward a bit to yesterday when I'm on ych.commishes.com a site for sell ych's. I bid on a auction but a few minutes before it ended I found it below to said artist. The was no way to back out or contact him so I waited for an email. In it he thank me for bidding an ask that I send the payment through family and friends. Again if you know paypal you know that's a terrible way to pay for art. I ended up telling him I wanted to back out before it had ended because I knew who he was and had a terrible experience with him in the past. As of now it looks like that account has be abandon as well. Edit: Seems his FA account has been reactivated sometime after I made this beware. http://www.furaffinity.net/user/xarkbeast [Editor's Note: Update from 8/3/2017] https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/965855.html Update to this beware: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/922543.html Where: https://www.weasyl.com/~sinistertrexx http://sinistertrexx.deviantart.com/ https://www.instagram.com/sinister_jorexx/ So I recently came aware that Xarkbeast as resurfaced under a few new names and accounts. DogBarf paid off a good portion of it and wanted it in time for a convention. I had finished the parts, so I foolishly sent the suit to him before it had been paid off. Communication since then has been spotty. I haven't seen another dollar since I sent it to him. He has attended a couple conventions in the meantime, wearing the suit he still owes money on. Looking back on the emails there were warning signs, but I was new to commission work and very naive. I love the character he created for the suit, and I still think it is a pretty cute suit even though I have improved in the time since I made it. I would love to get this resolved since DogBarf seemed like an overall good person while I was working on their commission. UPDATE: He is in contact with me again and plans on paying what he owes. I had sent a note later that day with links to the characters I had wanted drawn in the sketchbook. I had anticipated it would take a while since they would be drawing on 160 pages during a school year, so I never expected to have it soon. Of course I was also anticipating moving so I was hoping it would be after I moved that I would receive the sketchbook. As referenced in my 2nd note to them that I got an update in April 2015 on the sketchbook and it was nearing completion at that time. Though in December it was ruined by water damage and coffee. I had never received any photos of the sketchbook, I was bummed to say the least that it was damaged but my main concern was that I never got any updates through the entire time aside from the April note. It was then, in the December note, that a refund was agreed upon though no set date for refund was able to be told. I sent the 3rd Note May 19th but never got a reply to that though it said it was read sometime before I sent the 4th and final note. Upon sending the 4th note I got a note in response that was a little passive aggressive from my point of view but I could be completely wrong. They had sent me another note after that one apologizing for how they responded to me and we came to an agreement to do installment payments, which about a month later they asked if I had been getting the payments that were sending through PayPal.Me which I didn't for some reason or another. They then sent me the first payment of $5 which, after PayPal tax because it was sent as a good and service, came out to $4.55 (I'm not sure if I should count it as a full $5 payment or as $4.55 since PayPal took a chunk out of it...). So far it has been going well, I will be sure to update this when I get more payments until it is fully resolved. One of my friend’s requests was NSFW sketch of his zebra/dog character (Gideon is well known for his hyper-genetila pictures.) After securing commissions from several other artists first, I arrived at his both around 12:30pm. I purchased a sketch commission slot for $40, along with one of his CD compilations for $10. I gave him my friend’s character references, along with a description of what he wanted, and paid the $50 at that time using my PayPal debit card (see receipts above). I was told he would complete the sketch that night and it would be available for pick up the next morning. The next day (Saturday), I went to his booth to pick up the sketch, but was told he didn’t have enough time to complete it, and that he would try to get it done that night for me. Ok, fine. Things happen, sketches take longer then they expect, etc. Again, when I went to his booth the next day, I was again told that he did not complete it, but he would try to get it done before the end of the con. We exchanged phone numbers so that he could text me when it was ready. Instead, later that evening he texted me to say he did not complete it, but would do so when he got home and mail it to me. I waited several weeks with no messages from him, so I sent him a text message inquiring about the status of the sketch, but he never responded. I tried several more text messages after that over the following weeks, and again received no response. I was able to locate his email address on his website and attempted to contact him that way, but again received no response. As it turns out, my friend was going to be attending Eurofurence in August 2015, and Gideon was to have a booth there. They exchanges several emails and made arrangements to meet to pick it up, but Gideon never showed up at the arranged time. After that con, he again failed to contact us. Both my friend and I attempted to email him every couple weeks or so after that, and he yet again didn’t respond. In September, I again tried contact him as I saw that he was going to be at the Rainfurrest convention in Seattle later that month and could make arrangements to pick up the sketch, as I was going to be in the area visiting friends. Again, I received no response from him. In November, I tried to contact him via his Furaffinity.com account. Needless to say, I was very surprised when he actually *DID* respond. He claimed he was not receiving our emails (which I find very hard to believe since they seemed to work just fine when we could “pin him down” at a con, but whatever.) After a few exchanges on the fur affinity message system, he stopped responding yet again. My friend and I both attempted to contact him several times in December and January, to which we again received no response. At some point I also left him negative feedback on his credit card merchant account, citing the long overdue delivery and lack of response, and yet again he never replied. At this point, it’s now been over 7 months since the con it was originally supposed to be done at, and we’ve been given him more than enough chances to correct the situation. My friend is heart set on getting this sketch from Gideon, so I would very much like to receive it, and soon. At this point, if he has any intention of completing it, I feel he should mail the sketch to my friend in Sweden at his cost: Has he actually completed it at Anthrocon as originally promised, I would have been able to send it in a package of other “con goodies” I got for my friend – an additional sheet of paper probably would not have raised the postage any more. If he has no intention of completing it in a reasonable time, I want a $40 refund. I’m sorry, but there is no excuse for this lack of customer service on his part. A paying customer should NOT have to try to hunt down an artist like this, only to be given empty promises or be completely ignored. It makes me wonder how many other people he’s done this to that maybe gave up after a few tries. My friend was actually considering getting a full colored commission from him at some point, but after this experience, I don’t think that’s going to happen anymore. PROOF:

I usually give quite a bit of time with waiting on art since I knew there was quite a bit of work to be done. They continued to post art and a lot of PARPG stuff instead of the owed work they owed to me (but I digress). I finally sent the first note on October 4th of 2014 asking what was up and they told me that they had lost their tablet pen. I gave them the benefit of a doubt and let it go. The next time I got in contact with them was 9 months later (July 2nd 0f 2015) but in the note they explained that they got hacked and couldn't access their old account and I had to scour deviantart to find them again through commissions they ordered from an artist I watch. Again I let it slide though I really regret not pushing some more. They never bothered to keep in contact with me and continued to post art on a regular basis and not any art they owed to me. I had sent them another note February 11th of 2016 but never got a reply to that note though it was read. I waited a month before sending another note and they told me there was a death in the family. I let it slide since I'm a very forgiving person. I am very tired of almost waiting two years on this and it honestly should not be like this but maybe this can bring awareness to the user who has not kept their end of the deal even though I have been more than forgiving with how long this has taken. EDIT: As of May 19th, 2016 I have sent them another note concerning my owed art EDIT 2: As of May 26th, 2016 they have continued to post art and journals without reading my note at all or responding to it Edit 3: Updated links since I hate dropdox, I also got one of the 3 owed pieces of art finally (they posted it on a side account instead of their main) after I left a comment on their page asking them to check their notes

  23. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/899868.html Who: Eroishi Where: http://eroishi.deviantart.com/ What: 2 digital art pieces (1 nsfw and sfw) When: December 6, 2015 - February 12, 2016 Proof: http://imgur.com/a/wRZi4 Expalin: I requested 2 pictures, 1 nsfw and 1 sfw pic. Things went smooth until two weeks later, I messaged him about the payment I sent him. He told me that he never received the amount. I got worried and asked how he resolved the situation before since he told me that something similar happened for his patreon account. However, he simply said that the money was never received, leaving me to figured that he didn’t bother to resolve the solution. During the process, I called PayPal and they told me that the he received my payment. I told him to contact PayPal or find a way so that we can chat together, but he refused to comply, only to agree to talk to PayPal. I messaged him again after 3 days and he didn’t reply. So I waited. Since he never replied within a month, I could only assume the worst, which was that he’s lying to me and I was scammed. So I called him out for being a scammer, and he said that it was because he “had no internet” and had to wait until early February to get it back. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt. After two weeks, I asked him to give me a refund, but he refused. I questioned him again about showing me proof, and he had to wait for the internet to return. So I waited two days. During the process, I showed him my screenshot that I have proof of sending him the money. He said that everything is correct, yet he kept telling me that nothing was received. I asked him politely to the best I can to update me on the information he was trying to tell me. He finally showed me his end of the transaction to see that he “didn’t receive the payment”. So I proceeded to calling PayPal again (for the third time) and informed them of the situation. They refused to check and only said that he indeed received the amount I paid him. I sent him (and it was panic) a few emails to connect on PayPal together to resolve the situation together. Instead, he refused to reply to any of emails. 1 week later had passed, and it came to the drastic solution that he’s not willing to work with me at all. I had to resort to threatening him to contact PayPal immediately on what’s going on. He instead replied, declaring me a liar for the exact same proofs we showed to each other. This confirmed to me that he had scammed me for a simple $36 two picture commission. Since I had paid with friends by mistake, I’m not able to get my money back. This was a mistake on my end. Also, I feel that I learned not to freak out when a situation like this should ever happen again. And I also believe I shouldn’t be sending multiple messages at once out of panic (which may led to this). I also wondered if it was really on PayPal error if he really didn’t receive the payment I made to him. However, he refused to comply with my suggestion of calling PayPal again.
  24. https://artists-beware.livejournal.com/886127.html Text: WHO: rakkphotography on deviantart, audience0fdeath on weebly, #101897 on furry-paws. WHERE: Occurred mainly on furry-paws.com, but also on deviantart. WHAT: Digital art WHEN: Dates are listed above, but generally we first started talking on 3/29/15. First set of unpaid art completed 4/26/15, second set 5/5/15. Repeated attempts at contact between then and now. Payment still not received as of 1/1/16. PROOF: (Click for massive image) I then emailed them here. And then some deviantart replies here. I sent them another message later and they opened it but never replied. Proof of activity below in 'explain'. EXPLAIN: Rakk approached me after I made a thread advertising commissions. They seemed extremely kind at first and paid for their first commission batch promptly, so I didn't feel like it was dangerous to continue accepting payment after I delivered the art. Stupid move, and now I only accept part or full payment before. Live and learn. After offering to combine two commission batch payments into one, they didn't pay and stopped replying. They claimed they were sick and in the hospital. Up until today, I believed they were still in the hospital. However, that doesn't seem entirely true. I snooped on their weebly page and found their blog and instagram, both of which they've been incredibly active on. Proof of their activity on instagram. 2+ posts every single day. Posting to their first blog here(post too long to screencap it all, was just talking about training dogs) Seen here, they were also active this September, when they were ignoring me and claiming to be in the hospital. Here is their activity on their other blog. So obviously this person has had ample free time. They're posting selfies, writing blog posts, playing games, etc. And yet they refuse to get back to me or pay me for over half a year now. Yet, they're using my art on their blogs and weebly. I hate to have to write this about someone who was previously so kind to me, but it is what it is and I don't want any other artist having to deal with this. Bonus points! Since submitting and waiting for a mod to get back to me, this is now their instagram. Yep. All of those photos(besides the very last one) in 2 days. Clearly, too sick and busy to pay me. (thank you to CelestinaKetzia for helping me with this post! hopefully I got everything right this time!) edit: Since posting this, they've now sent me the full amount.
