  1. I never understood the practice of blocking a client when they point out something that needs to be pointed out. Waiting that long for art especially when the artist promises clear communication that they, themselves, default on just screams at me that they may have done it to multiple people. It certainly doesn't make me want to work with them o matter how nice their art may be. It also seems to be a really good way to chase away your customer base. Repeat customers can bring tons of business if you treat them well.
  2. I don't even have words for this. OP your patience with this behaviour was out of this world. There's a reason my block list on sites like FA and DA are so huge. I would never ever want to work with an artist who treats people like this. You cannot demand respect and such without giving it yourself. Mental health issues should never be an excuse for this kind of behavior. This is why so many stigmas arise for this exact thing.
  3. What absolutely appalling behaviour. Resorting to threats and telling someone they will reported to the police when the person is totally justified asking for a refund is horrible. Beware so well warranted. Even if it was reported I'm sure that the artist would get a wake up call when told they couldn't keep someone else's money.
  4. Wow that's pretty terrible behaviour. Calling you a child when you seemed to keep a level head while responding with some pretty valid reasons seems really unprofessional. It baffles me that they also believe they are in the right to not only keep your money but not give you the product you paid for. So many of these have made me ultra cautious and I never, ever consider ordering art from an artist with a refund clause like that. That kind of thing just screams warning at me as Celestina posted about it earlier.
  5. This... Is just bonkers. Tons of artists charge higher for a full body commission so for it to devolve the way it did is crazy. I'm also appalled they charged back on a completed piece. They can dislike someone all they want but in the end they got their product. You handled this so well. If you can I would try calling PayPal customer service and see if they can help at all with the chargeback. They're usually much easier to deal with rather than hope it closes online in your favor.
  6. Ah! My apologies! I missed it the first time. In which case there are still some grievous errors made by the artist. But I still would never want to work with someone who calls people ignorant. Especially after receiving paragraphs they may not understand in a language that's isn't their first. It makes the client come off as aggressive. They have a right to be angry! But not to name call or tell someone their business is scummy.
  7. Honestly the "English or not that's your job" line REALLY got my goat and made me angry. I've worked with many artists who don't speak English well and I would have never said something like that. It comes off as incredibly rude. Beware I think is well warranted for BOTH artist and client. The artist had poor response times and it seems is a non native English Speaker and our language is one of the more difficult ones to learn so I understand a bit how they might have gotten confused but to put a paying client aside for so long isn't a good sign. However the client deserves a beware as well! Be blunt about what you want from the start especially on a pre-posed image or YCH. Never ever make assumptions. A LOT of this I feel could have been avoided had the client simply said "I would like to make sure you are able to do this with my character as a feral and ONLY feral". It wasn't posted anywhere in the first note. Yes the gallery is all feral and so poor assumptions were made that it was OK for the artist to change it but had it been there POINT BLANK at the beginning...? Always state important factors even if it feels redundant because it's always better to be safe then to be sorry. I feel silly telling people to please draw one of My OCs with ears instead of big fluffy spikes because his main image leaves a lot to be guessed upon. It's one picture in his many image gallery BUT I care that much about it so it is MY job to make sure those drawing him know it's important to me they be done that way.
