I get that some people use tracing as a crutch to get themselves started, but it's not a helpful crutch. There are some very glaring and painful anatomy issues there that carry over into the traced piece, underscoring the fact that in tracing artwork from others, the tracing artist really only learns bad habits.

I'm sorry that you came to find out after the fact that the artist you commissioned traced the piece that you purchased from them.

While there many be nothing wrong with tracing for learning and studying as long as your not posting as your own. But this is really often the worst way to go tracing others artwork for a buck which will always eventually end badly for an artist doing business. And eventually will lead to some really serious issues in the future.

I think it's fine to post as your own as long as you're open and honest about the tracing, and have the permission of the original artist to do so. I think it also helps if an artist highlights why the traced the work, as that could lead to people giving them information or resources that would help them improve their artistic skills so they'd no longer need to trace other's artwork in that area.

Alright y'all let's keep this focused on the beware, not the ethics of tracing.

I think you misspelled her name beside the Who part. Cause i tried looking it up and nothing...  But i did find this account which belongs to Alirras on that site under the name AlirrasArts.

Did she give you a refund and has the original artist been contacted? She is reknown thief via dauxycheeks bases.

Yes I did ask for a refund, to no avail.

Vexstacy knows about her, and what  she did to her art, and is filing dmcas out as we speak.

Since you most likely will not get a refund i would most likely report the account to the admin of YCH commissions with your proof that you received a traced image.

Just wanted to add that this user is known for tracing, she's banned from Furaffinity because she was tracing Dauxycheek's bases and selling them after she blocked her from doing business with her. She always makes new accounts so be on the lookout.

I agree, I'd definitely report them to the site [and any other sites you may know they're doing business on with traced art].

Did you try opening a dispute through paypal?

This is a real shame, I'm sorry you ended up with a traced piece. Tbh a LOT of the stuff on that particular site always screams 'traced' when I browse there, and the fact that user galleries only really exist as footnotes of the auctions themselves probably doesn't help when it comes to looking at their consistency over time. How good are they when it comes to site management of known tracers?

Yes I did open a dispute through paypal, but i fear that i may have shot myself in the foot due to choosing the "report unauthorised access my account" option instead of  "i received an item that wasn't as described" option. Before you ask, I opened it, enraged, after initially finding out that I had wasted £50 on what is essentially a "knock off Picasso".

I have recently sent an eail enquiring about how to report an artist to the sites owners and i'm currently waiting on their reply.
