So I waited around until June and noticed she replied to a comment on her DA page so I thought she was active again but when I went to check her Facebook page to see if she had any updates it was now gone. So I sent her a note on DA asking what happened and to get an update on my commission. She didn't respond to that so I contacted another commissioner to ask them what was happening and they are in the dark as well as I. So I tracked down her email and have sent two emails so far with no responses to either one. And on August 21st she deactivated both her Furaffinity and DeviantART accounts. We agreed upon a digital bust commission which I paid $46 for. I accidentally sent them payment in wrong currency at first (AUD) but they refunded me immediately so I could re-send them the correct amount. On February 21st, Vani confirmed that the payment was received (screenshot 2-4). On March 30th 2016 I contacted them again asking if there was any problems with my commission and they told me they would be working on commissions again the following week (screenshot 5) On August 5th 2016 I asked if there were any updates on my commission and their excuse was a sudden relocation to Florida. Again they stated that the first thing they would get to was their remaining commissions. (screenshot 6) On March 17th 2017 I asked for a refund. They promised to refund for my commission, but never did (screenshot 7) On July 24th they uploaded a commission to their Furaffinity page, mentioning that this was their last colored bust commission from last year's batch. I commented on this submission asking what happened to mine and they quickly responded to this, explaining that they would complete my commission soon. This proved to me that they did not have a structured commission queue at all, since I as many others seemed to have been completely forgotten (screenshot 8-9) Vani gets a secratary: On May 24th Vani posted a journal on Furaffnity stating that they had gotten a secretary who would help them organize their commission queue, reach out to waiting commissioners and update with a new journal before June 15th. This is the last journal Vani has posted up until today(16/08/2017) and I never received a message from this secretary. Yet again I was left in the dark and according to the comment section, I did not seem to be the only one. Full story: Today I received a Twitter DM from a person who claimed to be Vani's manager. They informed me that Vani was about to refund me for the commission, and honestly I was kind of baffled, I knew that I wasn't on the refund list, and I asked for a refund back in March 2016. Anyway, even though I am pleased that I finally got my refund (that I was promised in March mind you), I am very disappointed to see that showing displeasure in form of some salty Tweets was the only way to resolve this issue.

That being said, Only time will show if she changes her attitude, and this beware will remain as a reminder of what she -has- done. So that way if someone decides to buy, they can double check her here. UPDATE 2: She may concurrently be resuming her shady actions, due to her once more piling up on her commissions with little work after weeks of getting them. Her ex has commented below with these notions. I would advise to demand work done with a watermark if you're insistent on her work, to pay when complete so she doesn't take money without anything done. He infers I am being unreasonable, and states that he is not interested in reselling the slot. He promises a refund, but his message is unclear as to when I will be receiving it. I noticed he had a few outstanding commissions, but he seemed to be going through them and streaming regularly at the time, so I didn’t really think much of it at the time. Sindaj streamed off and on after I paid, saying he’d be posting updates when he’d be streaming, so I would check in every so often to see what he was working on, but he mostly worked on sketches in stream / personal art and didn’t touch the YCHs or other previously owed work*, so I usually didn’t stay long. *To my knowledge - as I did not stay longer than an hour or two, it could have changed, but this was what I witnessed in my time in his streams. Sindaj would often express that he was having personal trouble with his health and living situation that interfered with his work, but as I’m disabled and occasionally need to put a small pause on my own work, I didn’t think much of it until a few months had passed with nothing to show in terms of progress on the YCH I had paid for. I hadn’t seen work done on any of the other comic pages Sindaj had put up for sale, either, so I sent him a note in May asking for an ETA / status update. He replied and said that he would be working on the comic pages the next week. I thanked him for the update and waited, but he did not work on the comic page YCHs at all. As Sindaj’s living situation and health issues seemed to escalate, he put a pause on his commission work and streaming, but still would occasionally post some personal work and adoptables (?) to his FurAffinity, offering to stream them for potential buyers. After a while, I realized I was coming up to the point where I would lose PayPal’s protection, so in July I sent Sindaj a note. I no longer wished to commission him, I felt that - despite the circumstances - the timeframe for a YCH had gone on long enough and at this point I just wanted my money back in full. Sindaj replied saying that he would have to resell the slot, and I consented, saying that he had until August to resell the slot and refund me. He never replied, nor had he made an effort to resell the slot or refund my money, but he’s posted a journal update saying he might be well enough to work on commissions and then he’ll stop doing them for a while (???). He’s repeatedly posted journals and such saying he’ll be streaming owed work, but has not actually streamed. As of July 12th I’ve issued a hard deadline - telling Sindaj to please refund my money in full, I do not want the YCH slot anymore, and that if he does not refund me by August 1st, I will escalate my dispute with PayPal to a claim. I really did not want it to come to this, as I do think Sindaj is a good artist, but I do not feel comfortable with how he handles his professional work. Sindaj repeatedly hides behind being ill when confronted about not getting work done, but I am a disabled artist. I understand what it is to be chronically ill. Sometimes you cannot get work done immediately, yes, sometimes life gets in the way, yes, but regardless you owe it to your clients to be professional and have policies in place for when you cannot do the work you were paid to do. I personally have a time frame for myself wherein I refuse to string commissioners along - if I cannot do the work that I was paid to do, I do not get to keep that money. It sucks, it has only happened once while I’ve taken commissions, but it’s necessary to protect the interests of your commissioner and keep the trust of the community you’ve chosen to work with. I think Sindaj is a lovely artist and I do genuinely hope his situation improves, but I cannot say I would feel comfortable going back to work with him again and that I just want this to be over. UPDATE 7/21/2017: I woke up to an email from PayPal stating that Sindaj has escalated the dispute to a claim, despite my deadline. I hadn’t heard anything from them so in December I asked for an update to which they told me they were working on and were having a lot of life problems. Totally cool, it was only two months since they accepted my commission no big. (Screenshot 2) Now we fast forward to June, which is the first time since December they’ve responded to me. They now are saying they lost all the files because their computer crashed and they won’t be able to finish my commission and they won’t be able to refund my money. I wasn’t allowed to request a refund because they had no money. (Screenshot 3) Now at this point I am getting increasingly upset, because it had nine months since I commissioned them, and seven months since I last heard from them, so I demanded either the commission or my refund. (Screenshot 4) After that they sent me another message saying they don’t draw females, even though that was the same characters I sent a year ago. (Screenshot 5) If you refer back to the original post they draw both MxM and MxF. Then they sent yet another message stating they would refund me in point, and I responded saying I didn’t want point, I wanted the cash that I had sent. (Screenshot 6) Then they told me they couldn’t send money on PayPal because I ‘blocked them’ and they no longer had PayPal and kept insisting on Point. (Screenshot 7 & 8) And that brings me to the most recent exchange. I basically told them I would dispute the transaction on PayPal because it wasn’t fair they kept dodging my request of a refund. They basically told me I was irrational for not thinking about what they are going through in life and why they can’t refund me. UPDATE : So they messaged me again on a different account this time, basically giving me an excuse for why their friends came after me, also telling me why they no longer draw women, despite accepting my commission last year. UPDATE TWO : So I just recevied a refund some a different paypal email adress, so I suppose this has been resolved, but I am rather disapointed they lied to be about not having paypal. I want to preface this beware with the fact that Wolframkyo is EXTREMELY passionate and very kind in all their responses and usually get back to me rather quickly. This is a beware on professionalism, and a lack of time management.. as one year later I'm still awaiting my piece of art from them. Unfortunately I did not screengrab the journal where Wolframkyo was offering discounted commissions for an emergency fund; this was done end of June of 2016. Not sure what the circumstances were but I do recall that the journal was offering up their stunning artwork for a very affordable price, and was to be done in stream! So I jumped on that journal asking for a commission and was greeted promptly with an accept! payment was made (15USD) via Paypal http://imgur.com/K03OOc8 Unfortunately my piece didnt come up in any of the streams in this time frame which is fine, things happen, so from there I just waited for a little while, and saw a journal update in regards to u updates for the commission list! A good friend reached out to Blizzie and smoothed things over, and next thing I knew, I had the refund. They sent too much to me, so I returned the difference.

Problems and delays began almost immediately and continued in frequency well beyond the holiday. Explain: The original commission was purchased on January 30th after a brief exchange via comments and notes. Shortly after began a long series of purported medical and housing “emergencies” that stacked in number. Meanwhile, Ailuranthropy continued taking in numerous new commissions while failing promise after promise to complete existing ones, several times specifically mentioning the Valentine’s Day pieces. I had sent three separate notes over FA looking for feedback. The first note was replied to, but did not answer my question. The second and third have not been opened or read as of June 22nd, 2017, suggesting the artist is either that far behind, falsely indicating progress where it doesn’t exist, or is outright ignoring me. Since they claim to have made progress in answering notes and publically stated they will address all of them within a time period that they’ve failed to meet, it suggests either of the latter case and deliberate negligence. Ailuranthropy runs frequent streams on Picarto where she often takes in new commissions. She mandates that no viewer is allowed to ask about owed artwork, or request status updates about them in the chat channel of the stream. Requests to actually get that information result in other users browbeating the customer with “channel rules” until they leave. A journal was posted on June 1st, 2017 that I found of particular concern. They wrote about their plans regarding owed work and made an “offer” to everyone who commissioned them before April 2017 that they have an option of a “full refund,” but that they won’t honor it “until probably August.” They say they will continue to take on new commissions while in-stream, and that the income for that is meant to pay for their living arrangement they are trying to set up, as well as paying for refunds of old ones. They specifically state “ME TAKING ON COMMISSIONS DOES NOT MEAN I AM IGNORING YOURS.” They also indicate that they will be expanding on the Valentine’s Day pieces and no longer using the base or template. Rather, they claim they will be creating new, unique poses for each customer. However, they also specifically made a point to tell people that PayPal is their sole and primary “bank” and are concerned about their account being flagged. This suggests to me that they are likely well aware of the limitations on how PayPal disputes work. I found it particularly troublesome to be asked to wait beyond my dispute window, where I would lose the bulk of my ability to try to resolve this issue. Given PayPal’s limitation of 6 months to file a dispute, and that the invoice was paid in January, we were quickly coming up to the deadline to escalate this issue. With my last two notes remaining unread, filing a dispute on PayPal was my only remaining bargaining tool. They replied within one hour to the PayPal dispute and asked for my FA username so they could remove me from their project list and blacklist me from any future business. I provided the username as requested, and asked that she update me when I’ve been removed and that she process the dispute accordingly, as she was effectively stating she would not deliver the product that was paid for. After 48 hours without a reply, I escalated the issue directly to PayPal to handle. PayPal contacted Ailuranthropy and a refund was provided within an hour. I waited about a month before asking for an update In April. The message was read, but never replied to. After they approved the sketch, they decided to get a partial refund to buy a similar commission elsewhere to “save money.” After the conversation, I told them I would be giving them their refund in 2-3 business days after the money transferred back into my account from my bank, but they filed a dispute against the invoice and refused to let me properly refund them for the commission when the funds became available. The user approached me wanting to get a commission through my moving fundraiser with an alternate version and a background added to the piece. He sent in an order form with all of his information for the commission, and I reviewed it and quoted him the price of the commission on June 14. He agreed to the price and paid it same-day. The commissioner didn’t seem to want to take the partial refund anymore and seemed to want a full refund (as suggested in this chain of notes https://www.dropbox.com/s/edbs1jf05jrwyt1/chargebacknotes.jpg?dl=0 ). The representative reviewed all of my evidence and information right then and there over the phone, and decided to escalate the dispute as a claim right away on my behalf due to the commissioner’s behavior after I explained the issue with the refund situation. Though I wish it didn’t have to come to that, I did what I was advised to do by the representative and submitted the same evidence to the claim regarding the payment - me canceling the invoice, me stating the agreed-to terms of the partial refund amount and when the refund would be delivered, me delivering the sketches/work done prior to canceling the commission, my notice that the refund was available to the commissioner and him not complying or allowing me to refund him. Basically, every single note exchanged between myself and the commissioner. The representative stated the commissioner could either cancel the claim to accept the $140 refund now, or continue the claim and have to wait up to 30 days for PayPal to review the claim and it would be out of my hands until the investigation was finished and the claim is closed by PayPal. I had hoped he would decide to cancel the claim so that he could receive his refund immediately. He later read my note, but never responded. A similar (but much less severe) case happened with this same commissioner in early 2016, which guided my decisions to cancel his commission and my response. I also know now it would have been best to leave the funds in my PayPal account for just such a situation as this. I had been transferring all the funds received from commissions for the fundraiser as soon as the commissioners had approved their sketches, as I was completing these commissions within 1-2 days after the sketches were approved. My thinking on transferring the funds this way was to make sure they were there during the duration of the fundraiser and so that I could organize the funds in preparation for signing a lease and putting down the deposit and first month’s rent on a new home. I’m honestly not sure what to do at this point other than to just… wait? I ultimately only want to be able to give him his $140 partial refund as soon as possible. I’ve been wanting to block him, but I know it would be inappropriate to do so as he’s still - despite this situation - completely entitled to his refund, and I don’t want to cut him off entirely due to that reason. References were given the same day, and after some chitchat, the artist went silent for an entire month until I prompted her again on the 3rd of February. The excuse was given that "things [have] been kinda hectic", but no status update was given. A week later on the 11th more information was requested for the work, which I provided. Again the artist fell silent, this time for two months. On the 11th of April I prodded her again, to be told that "Everything's alright....I have been working on a few commissions". Nothing specific about mine though. AGAIN the artist went silent. I emailed her again on the 8th of May, but this time received no response. I tried again on the 29th of May, and was told the following day "I've been sketching out all of the commissions lately, yours included, so, it will give me a head start on the LineArts and colors for all of them. Hopefully I'll get them done by next week!". And yet again she went silent for three weeks. My latest email has gone unanswered. There have been no sketches, no linearts, nothing provided. In fact there is no evidence at all that she's even started working. As we're getting close to the Paypal 180-day limit I have told her that I am prepared to request a refund unless she can provide proof that she's actually started work. There was nothing in the commission detail or in any of our conversation to warrant such a delay. If I'd been told "The work might take up to 6 months" I would have understood, but there has been absolutely no explanation. UPDATE: After posting this I received a message from the artist apologising, and saying that she was "getting onto it right now" and would "be working night and until morning for your commission to be finished." Three hours later I received an incomplete sketch via email. I replied, letting her know of the situation but cautiously adding that I couldn't accurately judge the sketch as it was incomplete. I also mentioned that the Paypal deadline is the 12th of July, whereupon I have to escalate to a claim, or cancel if the art is done. UPDATE: 24 hours later (the 22nd of June), I get a message saying that she is considering closing all her accounts and paying everybody back. I have replied saying that she can do that if she wants, but there is still the option of finishing the work before the Chargeback deadline. I am bemused by her comment that she is "new to Paypal" but that's beyond the scope of this post. As of 23rd of June, I have received a rough sketch. In December that same year she opened for fullsuit commissions so once again, after seeing her previous work decided to commission her. It was agreed upon that the fleece hat I had previously ordered would be sent along with the suit once it was done (however, I had never seen any shots of a WIP or even a finished hat). We agreed on a payment plan of 25% each month until the suit was paid off. January 2015 I sent her a payment of $450 USD(via Friends and Family to avoid the conversion fee, I was told -strike one on me) then mailed a DTD, a pair of shoes and a hand tracing. As soon as the next month rolled around I was messaged for the next round of payments, but I had to adult (to put it simply) and told her they may have to wait, in which I was then told if I didn’t pay I’d lose my commission spot but that she also wasn’t going to do that. I was able to pay her toward the end of February when things ironed out. Paid her again April 2015 and asked about a possible completion date of Anthrocon 2015. Was told she would start working in May after the last payment was sent. The last payment was sent in May 2015, and work began. We talked back and forth about furs and measurements. It was revealed that the suit would not be completed for AC ’15 but I told her I was fine waiting. September rolls around and we’re still waiting on fur. No other WIPs, such as foam work, were shown. She also asked to keep our conversations between her business page and myself instead of her personal one, but this transition never happened and we continued talking for another year on her personal page. Communication stopped Nov. 2015. After that I’d heard nothing from her again until April 2016. In the meantime she was posting other suit work and finished costumes, as well as sharing excitement over having a character of hers made by a popular maker. April 26 I am finally shown my first WIP picture: the handpaws. In May 2016 I received another WIP photo of the tail. After that I was told she couldn’t finish the bodysuit because my DTD had somehow fallen apart and was full of holes, thus requiring me to send and make another one. I didn’t hear anything for a couple months while the artist went to Eurofurence, despite seeing her post a redo of her own personal suit as well as more work. I messaged them August 20th to ask for updates and was told they were still settling in from the con and wanted another week. I reconfirmed sending a new DTD and was promised extras because of the wait. September 2016 I am notified that they received the DTD, but still no new WIPs. Finally, in October 2016 they send me an invite link to a telegram chat they had created to keep all their customers informed. This is the last time we spoke over Facebook messenger. After the move to Telegram I no longer received any updates regarding my suit, but the artist continued to show off work on other suits, her own suit being made by a popular maker and mention things going on in her home life. She mentions she will have four more hands in the studio to help her with suit work. November she posts another finished head and mentions she will change my sculpt to match that one- keep in mind I have yet to even see any WIP shots of a head at this point. Halfway through November she posts more suit updates but no mention of mine, just alludes that everything they have been working on will be shipped out. There's talk of having everything shipped in time for Christmas, yet still no mention of my commission. Updates in January are sporadic, she's posting that she's sick and disappears for days at a time or even a week. January 23rd she tells us things have gotten worse since she worked instead of bedrest so she's stopping for a while. February she lets us know more about her health, and because of this she is stopping all work, and no refunds are going to be given to anyone. She calls in another person to speak on her behalf and again states there will be no refunds, and to sympathize with her as it is a very difficult time for her, we have options, take them or leave them. I stated my case to this new person, first in the chat then in PM, explaining that while I understand the severity of the situation I can’t just walk away from that kind of money, especially where no other WIPs had been sent since May so I couldn’t even be sure the suit was that close to being finished. I even offered a partials refund of $1200 to cover the material costs and labor already put in and her “spokesperson” stated no, no refunds at all, and “this is the risk you take when commissioning”. They finally do agree on a $1200 refund, as a payment plan, and that they would ship me the parts finished and the remaining fur that I could then take to another maker. I was told I would get a track and trace (tracking number) when it shipped, and the first refund payment was due to start in April 2017. Towards the end of February I reached out to this person again for an update and was told they'd get back to me. I haven't heard from them since. It is now nearing May 2017, and I haven’t received a tracking number, my package, or even a cent of a refund payment. Inquiries to Remix herself are met with “I don’t have the money to refund you, I am ill,” and when asked about the package I am told her father shipped it and she would get it from him as soon as she could. I never have, and my messages are now going on ignored. The Telegram group for her business is now shut down and any business pages relating to Nightwolf Costumes are now wiped clean. Meanwhile, Remix posts actively on Twitter about her upcoming fursuit from a large maker, which as of this writing has been finished and is being shipped to her. She is also very active in a telegram chat for Dutch Angel Dragons, that I am also part of. I warned her about writing an artist’s beware if I wasn’t given the tracking number, and I have yet to get a response from her other than “I’m ill”, so here we go. I know I have a slim to none chance of ever seeing my full refund back, or even the fur. I know I shouldn’t have sent the money without an invoice, or without ticking Goods and Services. I learned the hard way, and I’m hoping others don’t make the same mistake I did. I'm posting this to not only warn people about what happens when invoices and paper trails aren't made, but to also stay away from this person, even if they get back in the business. Proof is here. 5/27/2017 Woke up this morning to a messge from Remix, with photo proof she has shipped two boxes to me, and a refund via Paypal of $1,080 ($120 was witheld to pay for shipping). I had tried to be reasonable and suggest a payment plan again to make it easier on her but she refunded the full amount. I'd consider this mostly resolved, once I get the boxes in the mail and find what she sent is as she described (all the work she was able to finish, plus the remainder of the materials) I'd say this could be completely resolved. 6/8/17 I came home from work to find that two boxes had been delivered, but they required a signature to be turned over to me (they had been delivered at 9 am, I didn't get home till 6 and I live alone). I was away all weekend so I was only able to pick them up today. Frankly, I'm disappointed. I was told I would be getting handpaws, a tail, feetpaws, and a half sewn bodysuit, plus my fleece hat and materials to finish the suit. Instead I got no hat, handpaws that barely fit my hands despite the hand tracing I sent her, a pair of foamed feetpaws with only one showing the carving process, a tail that isn't even backed and closed up (basically unwearable), and a barely even sewn bodysuit, many pieces still have pins holding them together. I also received both DTDs back (one was cut up to make the fur patterns) and almost all the fur used to make her (I don't have the brown or the green used in the tail). I'm disappointed, largely because I was led to believe more work had been done than this when I agreed to a partial refund but also because any quotes to try to get this finished are going to be through the roof, there's still so much work to do.

Dispute filed 5-3-17. EXPLAIN: This customer approached us (Mithacal Creatures) on 12-24-16 to inquire about commissioning a realistic style fullsuit of her dragon character. After purchasing materials including a resin base which we had completed work in preparation for furring, she (Zephyr) changed her mind about what she wanted and asked that we change her suit to a toony style one. After some back and forth about the cost of additional materials (which she initially did not want to pay) she agreed to the additional $290 to cover new fur and toony base, eyes etc. Zephyr had been in frequent contact with us regarding the state of her commission as well as general conversation and was well aware of the production timeline and completion state of her commission when she suddenly and without notice filed a fraudulent non-receipt dispute on PayPal. We had initially agreed to a completion time in late 2017, which was pushed back to early 2018 (March at the latest) as a result of the style change. Zephyr made no effort to ask for a refund and had previously showed no complaint nor concern for her commission, in fact she had stated just the day before the dispute that she was looking forward to seeing it done... Following her dispute filing with PayPal, she ignored our attempts to contact her via text and Twitter. When she finally did answer us she said she "had an emergency" come up and said "I knew you wouldn't give me my money back" so filed a non-receipt dispute despite knowing full well that the project was not yet finished. She admits to this in fact, both to us and on her Twitter account. Her dispute had nothing to do with her being dissatisfied in any way with our work or communication, it had everything to do with finding the easiest way to get some fast cash. Knowing that we could not provide tracking numbers to PayPal a decision in her favor was almost guaranteed. She used PayPal's policies to her advantage to scam both us and PayPal, to the point of calling them and declaring that our dispute had "been settled amicably" and cancelling her claim. This effectively shut down the investigation into her account and review of our evidence that we had requested of PayPal. There was nothing "Amicable" about the settlement of the claim at all, as she has in fact stolen our time and labor put into her commission to date as well as the materials cost invested and blocked all attempts at communication. Additionally this buyer after using a "family emergency" as an excuse for needing money, she in fact immediately began commissioning a number of artists for new artwork of her characters as soon as the refund hit her PayPal account. Her behavior has been immature, fraudulent, and extremely disingenuous. (Started on last image ) February 15, 2017, I had poked him again since it was a while since I had last heard from him. He told me he had messaged me asking for my address but my account was down. Aside from him telling me he mailed I have no way to prove it as I did not receive a tracking number or other information. So far, I haven't received a thing. I've gotten art from Germany and it didn't take this long. I've tried for the past few days to resolve this by refund or anything really. I have had to resorted to posting to their wall and commenting on posts they've made to get their attention. So far my comments have been deleted and unanswered. So, I've been tagging them in statuses to get them to respond. (forgot how much i paid, since i paid in cash. didn't get a receipt) WHEN: April 1st, 2016 EXPLAIN: Ordered a badge from Ryun at FWA in the dealers den. We decided to communicate via Twitter DMs. I paid her in person in cash (i know because i cannot find the receipt in either my PP or Square acct). I didn't get a sketch until November. I had to pester her for even that. Poked them again in January and they said they would send an updated wip, and I never got that. At the point it had been almost a year so I just decided to ask for a refund in February. They told me it would be a few weeks on 2/21. By the screenshots i'm going to post, they told me they would get it to me in "2-3 weeks." I poked them 2-3 weeks later, on 3/12 and asked for an update. She claimed she would send it that coming week and never did. I asked if I could get it after FWA 2017 because I assumed she'd be making enough sales to pay me back and she said yes. I ask for an update a week after the con, on April 16th and she ignores my message. At this point, I threaten with an AB, and then she promises to get it to me by the end of the week.
