  1. October 3rd - 7th, 2023 Witchness posted that she was open for stream slots that were supposed to be done next day or the day after in stream, I filled out and submitted a form and she messaged me the next day saying that she would be sending me an invoice. I paid once it was sent and waited for her to post that she was streaming, which she never did. On the 7th she sent me a message saying her stream wasn't working and that she had to work out of stream. She sent me a WIP (which I approved of) and told me she would be finishing it next day. I didn't hear anything from her personally outside of her posting personal issues on her page. January 4th-10th 2024 I honestly cannot remember the exact date but I ended up joining her server for commission progress at some point and she had a ticket system for that. I received a response from her on the 10th, explaining that she had a lot of "other people on (her) plate" but that she should finish my piece "in a couple weeks at most!" so I reacted with an emoji and waited. May 14th, 2024 Since I hadn't heard anything from her since her last response I sent a message asking for an update since it had been five months without a word from her. June 27th, 2024 She responded to me saying she was going through owed work and she was sorry for the delays. June 30th, 2024 Her manager had sent me a message saying that Witchness needed updated information from me and sent me a form to fill out and reply with. I ended up having surgery and I think I cleared my notifications and missed Biba's message. July 14th-15th, 2024 I went to check on my ticket and noticed the response I missed, I apologized for not responding sooner, mentioning my surgery and replied with the filled out form. The next day, Biba responded telling me that it was fine and sent me a link to Witch's Trello so I could "keep track" and that she'd ping me again when there were updates. September 1st, 2024 Another one of her managers/ mods replied to my ticket to tell me that Witch had said she'd be going through her tickets and delivering wips so I should expect a response soon. October 11th, - November 1st, 2024 In October I was starting to get impatient after several empty promises, alongside Witch constantly taking on new commissions and doing huge adopt sheets and personal work and decided to message her. So I sent a message in the ticket thread stating that I understood that she was having issues but it was completely unfair that I had been waiting over a year for my head shot and that I understood she had a lot of commissions owed but I wanted an update. I didn't get a response until the 1st of November, where another moderator basically relayed what I had already known from her server updates and public Twitter posts. Mentioning eviction and stating she was in a bind because several people had been charging her back so she was taking the time to make adopts to make up for that and that they didn't have an ETA for me and wouldn't for a while. I didn't respond because I didn't know what to say at that point. February 19th, 2025 I ended up messaging again as I had seen her publicly taking on new commissions, I stated it had been four months and that I'd seen her taking and doing the new commissions. I was ignored and didn't receive a response until October. October 18th - 21st, 2025 Another mod messaged me saying they "Reached out" (?) and that I should ping Witch on the following Monday. I was busy with IRL happenings and forgot to ping her until it was Tuesday and explained as such. Witch had replied stating that it was okay and that her mental health was doing better and that my wait time shouldn't be over 2 weeks. She said after she sent me a WIP, she'd be giving me a stream day where I could watch my commission be finished, and she was sorry because she had to do a lot of refunds. November 4th - 10th, 2025 I messaged saying I was getting fed up from another false deadline, especially since I already had a wip from 2 years ago. She replied to me on the 7th, saying that she had thought she sent me a message letting me know she was going to be delayed. She apologized and said she "thought I didn't respond" and "was okay with the delay" because I @'d myself in the message. (I had replied to my form message.) She gave me a WIP that I wasn't that happy with. In the time since I commissioned Witch, her style had changed a bit and one of the biggest changes was doing bigger bottom lips as well as a top lip. I told her it was mostly looking good but I had two complaints, the lips (as they're not my cup of tea) and then I felt like her face shape didn't look right, that her facial structure looked too long so I asked her if she could change it to be more like this other piece she did back around the time I initially commissioned her. She responded telling me she "couldn't edit the face shape" but she could fix the lips. She said the face wasn't different from the sketch besides "moving the eye down." She then sent an overlay of the sketch on the piece and then a separate image of the WIP with the fixed lips. I honestly did not feel like arguing this, I just told her the lips looked better. She responded to me two days later to say "good" and that it would be finished soon. December 10th - 12th, 2025 Literally the day after I initially posted this Beware to Artist Beware (Dec 10th) she just so happened to message me to tell me my comm would be done soon. (Dec 11th) Then the next day (Dec 12th) she made a post in her updates about how she wasn't going to be able to work on commissions because her pen nib broke but then also said she'd be able to because she has her IPAD. Later that same day she stated she was ordering a new pen and would start work again on the 17th, it is now the 18th and I haven't heard anything. Trello listing:
  2. In June, 2023, I sent EmmaFursuits 1000 Euro for a puppet commission of my character. They requested I pay using friends and family, which I obliged, since I didn’t see anywhere that there were any issues commissioning them. They said that puppets wouldn’t take as long as fursuits, and that they would be separate queues so it would be done soon. I ended up hesitating after a few months went by with little update, and I requested a refund if they hadn’t already ordered the materials, which their TOS states that once materials are purchased there are no refunds. They told me they had already purchased the materials, but didn’t share evidence of such, so I trusted them, and took them at their word, and continued the commission. They promised several deadlines over the two years I have waited, which they have repeatedly failed to meet. Over that time they have occasionally sent updates, which usually have some degree of progress but the pace indicated that it would take a very long time for them to finish. Currently they have set their Telegram DMs to automatic response, so I have not seen a response with visual progress since May 16th, 2025. They posted a finished personal fursuit July 19th and completed several fursuits since my commission has started. Reference for the character Record of Payment To give them some credence, they have been dealing with a lot of issues regarding mental health and the loss of pets. It’s understandable in those cases to want delays. However, they have blown past the 6-18 month estimate listed in their TOS, and they seem to be inconsistent when it comes to their ability to meet promises. If you are commissioning them, be prepared to wait a long time, make sure to request updates, and ask for receipts and visual updates to ensure progress. An update on August 31st Further updates in October On November 11th of 2025, the puppet was finished.
  3. On March 21, 2025, I won a collab YCH slot from 0-ruff at the bid of $95. The payment per the auction description was to be done on Boosty or Hipolink, which I have used with other artists in the past and am familiar with the platforms, so I had no issues placing a bid with these conditions. Despite the bid being made in USD and Boosty showing USD amounts, 0-ruff insisted in payment being made in rubles. I informed 0-ruff that I was unable to make the payment in rubles as Boosty would only permit me to do payments in USD and asked if this was acceptable. I have always done business with Russian-based artists on Boosty like this with no issues in the past and saw no reason this time would be any different. To my surprise, 0-ruff tried to make an argument that Boosty has its own currency exchange rate (?) and that I should pay $98 instead of the $95 bid I placed. I was unsure about this since this didn't sound right, but I made the payment for $98 regardless and sent my information. 0-ruff then claimed that they did not receive the full payment amount and insisted I pay them more. I was confused because I had already paid more than my winning bid for the YCH and had the receipt showing it, so I questioned them, repeating that Boosty shows payments in USD and I had made the full payment they asked for. When I went to go check on Boosty again, I noticed 0-ruff had then upped the payment from $98 to $100 after I had paid. I confronted 0-ruff about this and provided screenshots of my completed payment, their updated price, and the Google currency exchange (which they claimed to be using) which showed I had already paid the full amount they asked for. 0-ruff continued to make some claims about currency exchanges not being stable and that each platform has its own currency exchange rate (?) and that they only used Google's exchange, which also showed I had made more than the payment I needed to. At this point, I no longer felt that 0-ruff was following fair exchange rates and business practices and confronted them about it and asked for a refund, as I did not trust them to not continue to ask for more money or hold the artwork hostage in exchange for more money. They had already proven they were just charging whatever they felt they could get, regardless of the initial bid or auction rules and I no longer wished to do business with them. 0-ruff pushed back and refused to refund the paid amount or acknowledge the retraction of my bid. I repeated that I no longer felt this was a trustworthy exchange and did not wish to continue to work with them based on these principles and a lack of trust. I ultimately had to threaten to do a report and chargeback to get a response from them. 0-ruff continued to refuse a refund, called me unstable for calling them out on uncharging my original bid, and then blocked me without further discussion. Following this, 0-ruff then hid my bid on the YCH auction and continued to take bids for the slot despite not refunding me the money I had already paid to them. I am now having to work with my bank and Boosty to get the money charged back as a fraudulent charge. This was my first and last time dealing with 0-ruff. 4. I have commissioned Wulfchow at the Artist Alley @ AnthroCon 2024. The commission is for a digital drawing with a scene commission, which was verbally explained in person at the booth to be a fullbody with a background. Scene commissions are shown to be offered on their social media, but the price is not shown as it was sold out at the time of posting on July 6, 2024. Payment was done through Square, so there is no use of PayPal. Instead, the only proof is my bank statement, showing that I had ordered from Wulfchow on July 5, before the scene commissions were sold out. On July 5th, we had exchanged Telegram messages to establish contact. Afterwards, I attempted to reach out for updates, where the screenshots include specifically my mention of a scene commission. The Trello link is all of their currently owed work from AnthroCon 2024, including the scene commission they agreed to do: https://trello.com/b/6FFKY0ug/post-anthrocon-24-queue There has been no indication of a response since my check in on November 16, 2024. The artist instead updated on their Twitter that they will correspond by email instead, despite claiming to respond to all outstanding DMs. I have reached out to them on the email they publicly supplied and am still waiting for a response.
  5. I began a commission process of a two page a comic from ectoflorist/kettucutie on Februrary 16th 2024. The artist seemed nice and welcoming at first. The total for the commission was $70, although I was given the option to put a down payment of $20 first and pay the rest at a later date and agreed. After sending the $20 down payment for the commission, the artist sent a rough sketch of the first page of the comic. On March 17th 2024, I then had the rest of the payment, which was $50, and sent it to them as well. Both transactions were made via CashApp. I've waited until April 23rd and April 28th 2024 to as for an update on the commission. But was greeted with a bit of a hostile reply. After apologizing, I waited for a response, unfortunately, the artist became unresponsive. I waited for months sending check up messages while trying to be respective of the artist's space as much as possible. However, the artist did not respond at all. Strangely, as I made the transaction and contacted the artist on Discord, they still seem to be active on there. Unfortunately, the artist's Furaffinity page has been inactive for months, and there's no other place to reach them other than Discord. On January 22nd I tried contacting the artist through private message on their Tumblr. However, they have blocked me and had not sent a reply. The artist is currently still posting on their tumblr, reblogging posts from others even though they've not sent a response.
  6. Originally, artist and I agreed on a 150 USD budget on animation to help take care of costs because he was looking for work to be able to feed himself. Artist insists he would do weekly updates. What followed was months of silence, and updates only whenever I would ask for them. These "updates" would never include actual proof of progress on the work. False promises of delivery and asks for more money always followed each update request I would send. In the end, they provided a paypal email different from their original, saying they needed "storage" to be able to deliver the final file. They have recently asked for more clients as close as the past month. They should not be trusted to deliver their work or offer refunds for working with them.
  7. On January 31st, Baasil made a post for Tarot card slots, two separate decks that would ideally be finished and printed. After kind of waffling about it for a couple days, I reached out on February 2nd. I promptly paid for the slot, very excited to be a part of the project. They confirmed payment and shared their excitement for the project with me. I hadn't heard anything in March, so I sent a note for an update. I was not given a wip, so I figured maybe they had fallen a bit behind, as trying to keep a deck consistent is most definitely a lot of work. So I gave the benefit of the doubt and patiently waited as time ticked on. Then I requested another update in June. Here they acknowledge that there wasn't enough interest for a full deck, but was still happy to do prints for the people who commissioned the art. I was more than happy with just getting the art in general. July rolls around, and I still don't have a single update or wip, and I start getting a bit nervous as it has now been about 5 months since I commissioned them I'll admit I got a little too stern for my liking, but I was getting increasingly nervous as they tended to disappear for a while and randomly come back. They were very polite towards me in their response, because I did genuinely still want the art, I still loved the concept and I was happy to wait. In August, Baasil posted one of the cards, and I got excited again, knowing that they were being worked on, and that the style was looking really good. After this, starting in September, they were focusing on streaming work. I thought, okay sure, we all have bills to pay, so I patiently waited. At this point I was preparing for a massive career change so a lot of time got lost on my end, and I ended up reaching out in March 2020. I wanted to give another chance as I really do love Baasil's style and part of my thought process was that it was only $35, so I'd be happy with any art from them. They still remained very polite towards me throughout this entire exchange, while explaining loosely what was going on. I changed my character choice as well as offered full artistic freedom, as I wanted it to not be stressful on them, as I know sometimes drawing with heavy constraints in an art piece can be a lot, and they have a super flowy style that I thought would work well with this character. Which brings us to our last correspondence with each other, two years later. Again, we both remain civil through this exchange. At this point, all of the journals except a select few have been deleted, and I didn't think to screen cap them because of a huge move and personal issues going on in my life as well. Every so often they come back and post more, but they haven't been active in almost a year, and truthfully, I'm just really disappointed. I tried to give chances, and I'm a very patient person, but if this was really going to be this much of an issue, I would have done that chargeback back in July of 2019. I recently reached out one more time to see if I could get some response, however my note when completely unread. The only positive thing to come out of this was that neither of us were confrontational at any point in time, and it was always a civil and professional discussion between the two of us. I commission a lot of artists and I almost never have these issues, I am going to have to take this to heart and maybe some day I'll see my $35.
  8. Uses deceptive wording and pressure tactics. Initially I was willing to forgive and assume inexperience, but the ask for double for delivery, then for a different commission, then for a 50% tip flew way past the acceptable line and drained the remainder of my good will. End product (no watermark free copy was received) not received as of today 9/17/2024. Artist reached out first after small talk and was the one who initiated conversation after I followed them on Tumblr.
  9. I paid Lapis $100 for this YCH back in April of 2023, before I largely departed from the fandom. It was to contain two of my characters, one of which I don't even own anymore. This is proof of payment, as best I can manage, given it was done through boosty. Immediately there seemed to be a trend of me having to ask multiple times for a response, and it would be five months from payment before I received any sort of WIP. After several attempts to contact Lapis over ~4 MORE months, I finally received a long explanation as to why it hadn't been done yet. I strove to be amicable as I understand how bad burnout can get, as an artist myself. After this, it would be a couple MORE months (over a year at this point) before I heard from her again. It took commenting on her FA, and eventually tracking her down on Telegram to finally get a response. I'm of the belief that clients should not have to hunt down their artists. Note: I HAD started an Artists Beware post, but as she started contacting me in the middle of revising it, I stopped because I thought she'd gotten her act together. She had not. So anyway, under threat of an AB post, she suddenly regained the ability to respond to messages, and the following conversation ensued. I was willing to talk it out and admit that I had been speaking from a place of anger, and I figured things would be better from here. Note: I traded one of the characters who was supposed to be in this YCH to someone, who apparently contacted Lapis asking them to change her to one of the characters that became mine in the trade. This was not my idea nor was I consulted about it in the slightest. Lapis did not even attempt to confirm this decision with me. Unfortunately, she began ghosting me again. I made several attempts over the last two-ish months to contact her, during which she apparently had time to post screenshots of FA's twitter in another server, but not to acknowledge any of my messages. Blurred out the irrelevant FA Twitter drama. Only when I publicly asked her to respond, did she decide to do so. The next images will only be screenshots of the conversation that followed in its entirety. I was very angry and my tone throughout reflects that- but after being strung along for 1.5 years, it's hard not to be. I'll be the first to admit I was a bit pettier than I needed to be towards the end of this discussion, and my temper did get the best of me, but being told I am being unreasonable for not enjoying being flat-out ignored for over a year while she posts art/animations daily on VK.. well. I can only hope Lapis cleans up her act moving forward- she really is a very gifted artist.
  10. Outline: - Original agreement: on 12/23/23 I reached out to Michi on FA and was told I could send them a message on Discord. After doing that, exchanging hellos, and confirming I was interested in a YCH slot, I shared my ref and sent the payment ($45) after they sent me an invoice. After which they told me it would be a day or two before they could send me a WIP, which was fine. Sure enough, they began sending WIPs, and I was happy with the work, however, after a bit, communication began to get scarcer. I reached out for an update on FA, and they got back to me with a nearly complete version, just missing some color in places and some shading. After that, all communications dropped. I tried reaching out over FA and Discord over the months, but have gone ignored. I tried to go through PayPal to get my money back, but it was declined, as it has been more than 180 days. Replaced old screenshots with some hopefully clearer quality screenshots of the Furaffinity messages with date and time, and an email has been sent, and so far has not been replied to. Also added the invoice
