Summary: I commissioned Kocha for a fursuit. This took over a year longer than the promised build time after they became increasingly hard to contact, once the suit was finished, they just didn't send it out for several months with no explanation, then, when it finally arrived, it arrived with broken and unfinished parts, parts that weren't what we agreed on and were flimsy and difficult to wear, and some parts that were just outright missing. On trying to talk to them about this, they ignored my comments about the many negative parts, refused to speak to me again for months, told someone else to tell me to e-mail my issues to Kocha, then responded to that e-mail by blocking me. I originally reached out to Kocha on March 2nd 2023 to ask about making a full fursuit of my spider sona. They were initially very excited to do this and opened a spot for me so that we could do that. After some discussion about designs, the invoice and agreement were sent on May 2nd 2023 and I signed/paid them on May 3rd 2023. Start date was May 1st 2023, with an estimated completion time of 3-6 months Through this time, they were very nice to me and very easy to talk to and work with. This continued for a few months with regular updates about materials arriving, build milestones, etc. On September 28th 2023, Kocha told me that they would be sharing photos of the body suit soon. This was the last time that I heard from them for two months, and, from this point on, contacting them became increasingly difficult. After trying to ask for updates during that time, they eventually replied on November 20th, apologising for being so busy, offering to cover a portion of shipping costs and add some extra props, and a new completion date of November 31st to December 7th, which was fair enough. We then spent some time picking a pattern for a bandana as one of the extra props. This is the only one ended up being included in the finished product, and the others were never mentioned again. After this, another 1.5 months passed with no contact, and the new completion date was missed. They then contacted me on January 26th 2024 to say that they were dealing with a lot of personal issues at the time. I didn't want to add extra stress to them during that, so I decided to be lenient and lay off while giving them some extra time to get things in order. After a few months of waiting, I decided to reach out again to ask how things were going. I didn't hear from them again until three months later on April 20th 2024, to apologise for being so absent and promising to give a full update with photos on April 28th. This date was missed again. They did promise to completely comp shipping costs, though, which is a gesture that I really appreciated. A few days later, they messaged me again, admitting that they had just left my suit in a corner because they hadn't been able to get one of the promised parts right and apologising for hiding that from me. I agreed for them to try it with a different material because I wasn't too picky about it, but was upset that it was stalled for so long because of something simple that they just didn't tell me. I finally received a photo of the mostly finished body suit on May 3rd 2024 (now six months after the original completion date), and explaining what was left and that they'd get it finished up over that weekend. Another ten days passed with no contact, at which point they replied to say that they'd need another week to finish it. I heard from them again two weeks later (May 27th 2024), at which point it was still not finished but they sent me a video of the head and body suit being worn and that they'd get more photos "tomorrow". I will say that the suit looked amazing, at this point, and I was very happy with how it looked in the video. They then messaged me again on May 30th to say that the photos had to be pushed back "a couple days". I then didn't hear from them again for over a month. After I sent a few more messages asking if I could please have an update, they sent me a photo of the suit in a box on July 3rd and saying that it would be "shipping this week". We then had some brief conversations about the photos and updates over the next few days, until they stopped responding again on July 9th. Kocha finally responded again on July 21st - the suit had still not been sent out, but they sent a couple of photos of it, and asking for confirmation of my shipping details to get the label finally printed off. I then didn't hear from them again for another couple of weeks. Another quick message on August 4th after I asked for an update, explaining why and that I would receive the tracking information by Tuesday (August 6th) (they also asked if I'm a Pokémon fan, and to this day I still don't know why because it was never mentioned again). Tuesday passed with no tracking information and I sent some more messages asking for an update over the following weeks. Finally, they messaged me on August 22nd, apologising and finally giving me the tracking information. As it was finally sent out, I considered this probably finally over. We had some discussions over the next week about suit maintenence so that I could prepare, and some other general conversations. The delivery was separated into two. boxes. The first finally arrived on September 3rd. The head was (and still is) very good and I'm very happy with it. The hands seemed strange but I didn't know what to think of it because the rest of the suit hadn't arrived. Some extras were included in this box, including the bandana and some keychains and stickers and a very nice card apologising for how long this took. None of the other promised props such as the eyelids were in it, though. The other box containing the suit arrived on October 3rd 2024. I was extremely excited, took some photos with it, and sent some messages about how much I loved it. I was too excited to really think about any negative details at the time, although I asked some questions about some of the things that I noticed at the time. These questions went completely ignored when Kocha responded the following week. I came back to the suit the next day to realise that one of the wires holding the arms together was snapped - it hadn't even lasted for a single day. They responded on October 8th to say that it's fixable if I have a sewing needle, and I replied asking if they could explain how to do that. This is the last time that I ever heard from them. I asked a few times over the following months if they could respond, particularly as our signed agreement said that they would help with repairs and costs of any errors or damage if I told them about it in the first seven days (which I did). Out of desperation, I talked at one point about trying to return the suit and claim my money back, although I never had an opportunity to actually do that and really didn't want it to come to that anyway. By this point, the excitement had waned and I realised that, after all this time, I was stuck with an unusable suit that I'd got to wear exactly once after paying over $4,000 CAD and waiting for twice as long as the promised finish date, with no way to get the maker to help me make it wearable. On February 24th 2025, I reached out to another maker in their group and they contacted Kocha for me. I had a discussion about the details suit with this maker and they agreed that Kocha should be helping with the repairs. The other maker I spoke to was also understandably busy, so, on top of it being difficult to contact Kocha, it took a while to discuss everything. Kocha told them on April 5th 2025 to tell me to send an e-mail to Kocha about the issues with the suit so that we could finally get it sorted out. It took me a while to do this because I was so worn down by everything and very busy with the season leading up to my own convention work, but I got the e-mail sent to them on May 27th. Kocha never responded to this e-mail, despite them requesting that I send it. I sent one more message to Kocha on July 18th to ask if they could respond to the e-mail. They never replied, and I looked a while later to see that they'd actually responded to it by removing me on Telegram and ignoring all contact. (you can see that they have no profile picture if I look at their profile while logged in, but they do if I'm not logged in). I haven't heard from them since. They've been active elsewhere in that time, but now I have no way to even contact them, so I'm completely lost on what to do and upset beyond words that I paid so much and waited for so long just to receive a suit that I can't wear and apparently will never be able to, with no way of recourse. I really didn't want to post this, but I don't know what else I can do, at this point.

Summary of My Experience June 12th, 2024 I contacted Quetzal on their telegram account after seeing a journal advertisement for discounted commissions on their Furaffinity page. Initially they were prompt with their communication to me and by the very next day June 13th, 2024 we had come to an agreement on my commission description and i paid them $100 via Boosty. The problems began when i reached out to them about a month later on July 24th, 2024 to ask for an update on Telegram. My message was read, but i never received a reply. I didn't think much of it at the time, as i do try to give artists leniency. More time passed, and i attempted to reach out by both Telegram message and Furaffinity notes, but never received a reply to any of them. Note: The artist was active in posting submissions and journals on FA during this time. After over a year of no contact, the artist deleted our Telegram chat which caused me to ask for a refund, only to get blocked on Telegram. Now i stand $100 short and nothing to show for it. The Initial Contact June 12th, 2024 i contacted Quetzal on Telegram after seeing a journal advertisement for discounted commissions. Pictured below is verification of @Saspeancea being Quetzal's Telegram account as well as my initial messages to them. The very next day on June 13th, 2024 i provided my idea prompt (NSFW) for the commission and the artist quoted me a price of $100 which i agreed to pay through their Boosty. During this time the artist was very prompt in their replies to me, but this would mark the last time we ever have 2-way communication with each other. Proof of my payment to their Boosty. The Long Silence Attempts to reach out on Telegram Over a month passed by with no word, so on July 24th, 2024 i messaged them on Telegram to ask for an update. This message was read, but no response was given to me. I didn't think much of it, and time continued to pass. I attempted to reach out 3 other times on both Telegram but none of my messages were ever labeled as read. With my last somewhat willing to compromise message being sent on July 19th, 2025 Attempts to reach out on Furaffinity In conjunction with asking for updates on Telegram, i was also attempting to reach out to them on Furaffinity during this long year of silence from them. First note sent on January 26th, 2025, was read but never received a reply. My next Furaffinity note was also read but never received a response. Which was a parrot of my July 19th, 2025 Telegram message. They did post a public Furaffinity journal on July 6th, 2025 explaining their silence, though that's no excuse for outright ghosting me in particular and they were active in advertising commissions as well as posting completed pieces that were purchased after mine. Proof of advertising activity between them ghosting me and that journal. Example of other customers purchasing a commission after mine and getting it completed before mine. Note: Their usernames hidden for their own privacy, as they are not involved. YCH Bid Confirmation date: June 20th YCH Completion date: June 30th (Moderator note: We not not typically accept third party conversation, however, in this instance we are only using this as a means to provide record of date of posting to date of completion. The buyers' identifying information has been removed as the focus is only on the proof of dates.) Asking for a Refund and the Current Situation For what prompted me to even make this artist beware in the first place. After sending my messages on July 19th, 2025 to ask for an update. I checked back a few days later only to find that my Telegram message thread had been deleted by them. After thanking my lucky stars for my own foresight documenting the older messages with screenshots, i decided enough was enough and I gave them an ultimatum for a refund. The Furaffinity note I sent is still unread of as right now (July 26th, 2025). And they took it upon themself to delete the Telegram chat again and locked their Telegram account behind Telegram premium so i can no longer message them. As it stands right now, I am short 100 dollars, no art update, and the artist is actively going out of their way to ghost me. I hope Quetzal comes to their senses and learns to treat ALL of their customers with more respect. Good communication is always the best way to avoid any conflict for both parties, but it takes both. Commission at your own risk, you could see a quick turnaround, or you might spend your money, get ghosted, and have nothing to show for it.

The artist made a post on Twitter in late January 2024 saying they were taking on commission inquiries. I reached out expressing interest and the artist took up my commission spot. The original agreement was for a solo piece skirting the SFW/NSFW boundary, partial artistic freedom, making a reference to a movie line. The artist expressed high interest in the prompt and took my commission spot. Payment was made that same day for $200 (January 29th, 2024). The artist stated they would get on the piece "pronto". No correspondence was received for several months. I reached out that same year in August, September, and October, only receiving any response after October. Artist said they were busy with other commissions and would give me an update later that day. I received a loose sketch a couple days later giving a rough idea of the direction the artist wanted to work towards. The artist offered up a somewhat different idea, changed from a solo piece into a teasing SFW group piece. I expressed this acceptable as it still fit the theme and they were not asking for additional payment. No update was received since October '24. I sent another message in March '25 asking for an update. It is now the end of June '25 and I have received no response. The artist, however, made a post on Twitter within a couple weeks of my last message (April '25), and has made another post recently (June '25). All evidence points towards me having been ghosted. Some resolution through refund or completion would be preferred, but I'm not getting my hopes up. (close up pf the artist's offerings and prices for reference) Further attempts were made to contact the artist through FA Notes and email But the artist has not responded to either.

2023 December 13th Kai had posted a reminder for one of their multi-slot YCHs. I liked this one a lot and decided to comment asking for a slot and Kai sent me a note asking for details and gave me a payment link. December 14th I had something happen with power going out at my house so I was unable to answer right away. He sent me another note the next day asking me how I was doing and I replied with my situation from my phone. December 15th When I was able to get to my PC I replied to his first note with the characters, asking if he'd be able to draw them before I sent payment. The character's species has a specific blocky head-shape and aren't supposed to have foreheads/ protruding brow bones so I told him that. He said he'd have no problem drawing their head-shape and to let him know when I sent payment. I went ahead and sent it and mentioned that I forgot to ask him if the cigarette in the piece could be changed into a vape instead and he replied saying he received payment and had no problems with changing it to a vape. I'm going to post the character references I sent him so you can see the head-shape and details on them that become relevant later. 2024 July 19th I hadn't heard anything from Kai but he posted a journal saying he was done with his medical school exams and now had time to work on his queue. He was going to be working in the order of when the YCH's were listed vs bouncing between who ordered what slot first and was doing the YCH's in batches for each month. Mine was set for September. December 3rd I checked in on his journal and saw another person had been asking in November if the deadlines were still accurate as they were waiting for a YCH from October and November. I commented as well, asking if the queue was still accurate as I would have been waiting a year for the piece on the 16th.. 2025 January 5th Kai uploaded his first post since people had been asking for updates and it was a reminder for a YCH and he continued to ignore everyone else. I ended up commenting on the reminder stating: "I don't mean to be rude, but why are you taking on more slots when you haven't finished the ones from over a year ago? Everyone has been patiently waiting and asking you for updates on your "deadline" journal just for you to ignore us for months and come back to take on even more commissions. You need to either finish your queue and/ or begin sending out refunds. Otherwise it looks like you're just trying to run with our money. :/" I also went and copy pasted it onto the YCH he had the reminder for with the same thing. There was someone who commented wanting a slot and I warned them that Kai had a queue of over a year and they removed their comments. A few hours later, Kai ended up responding to me and the other two commenters on the journal with a copy paste message saying: "I'm sorry for the delay. I was not able to use my strength to the full and the three-year burnout has taken its toll. I took a month off in December, which kind of helped, so I will update and make a more accurate list of deadlines soon, but by name. So that each of you can keep track of my work. I'm really sorry for the wait." He hid my comment on the YCH reminder but didn't hide the one on the YCH itself. Eleven hours later got a note from him telling me that he had been burnt out from work and that he actually had finished my YCH with a link to the piece. It mostly looks nice but there are several things off. Kai didn't even try editing the head-shape outside of erasing the nose and adding slit nostrils and missed a few key things that were on the character's references (Horn rings, Nyx's collar and neck fluff), he also didn't change the cigarette.) I feel like given the amount of time it took for him to respond to me that he went and rush did the piece because otherwise I don't know why he wouldn't have just sent it to me beforehand. I messaged him back asking for changes but that note has been left on unread and I sent him another on the 26th which has also been ignored. I'm almost certain that I am not going to get a response anytime soon and he's just running off with several people's money. I really think people should stay clear of him unless he does a major turn around.
