I commissioned Toast for over 300$ and never ever had any problems with her.

You know Toast for quite a time and still decided to commission her.

I think what you lack is mature communication skills.

You having a good experience doesn't negate OP's bad experience.

While we will be happy to let individuals come and speak about their positive experiences in this thread, bear in mind that when you tell someone they lack "mature communication skills" when the artist made a show of saying "GUESS I NEED TO WASH MY CLOTHES IN THE SINK" it doesn't make the artist look any better.

  2. Yikes, the attempt to guilt trip you for asking for your money back is absolutely a beware well warranted.  "Excuse me I'm going to go wash my clothes in the sink".  How... is that your problem?  If the sketch was done, then why not just show it to you??

Drowsy and I worked out a re-payment plan in Feb of 2019-- and as of August 2nd 2019, they have been refunded the full amount with no missed payments along the way. We are currently working on refunding others who have requested as well in as timely a manner as possible~!

@DrowsySeal can you please confirm this is yours?

Since he just proved who he was with that setup, would it be an idea to include his twitter-tag as well?

OPs can't change tags.  🙂  For future reference if folks need a tag update, the best route is to contact someone from staff.

  5. Hiya OP, after a lot and lot of digging and going down rabbit holes, it appears this user is a serial tracer.  They trace commissions, get caught, and then bail to the next username.  Unfortunately, even if you got your commission, it wouldn't have been likely to be legitimate.

I went ahead and attached tags to all the usernames I found linked to them.

  6. Hey @Tythius your comment was hidden as positive IDs for "same accounts" must either be:

    • Same art posted to both accounts
    • Same email address
    • Same real life name

If you have any of those please PM any mod, and we can get that tag for the old name added.

  7. Howdy OP!  We went and removed mentions of the second account.  While we found lots of links to the other account, if it is true this Seoir person was impersonating them then it wouldn't be fair to link to their account.  We'd rather err on the side of caution.

Paypal has been called, I only get robots that tell me to try and figure it out on the website (new disputes can't be opened). I have also used their email feature and it forces me into a loop of "Here is some info from our site! If this isn't helpful please reply to us!" reply leads to the same email again.

Usually you can get through to a live person.  It's just a drawn out process (when it shouldn't be).  I've done it myself in this past month.  Once you get to the "ask about a claim" just keep mashing zero until they ask if you want an agent lol.

How was the refund cancelled? I would call PayPal personally about this and get it resolved. There shouldn't be any way someone can cancel a refund when a dispute closes? The artist agrees to the refund in writing and should be enough evidence to PayPal.

Refunds can be canceled if the funding source doesn't have money.  This is done on Paypal's end, but I agree.  OP needs to call Paypal.

Yup, what a wonderful news to wake up to lol. So now using my characters in revenge murder fantasies isn't enough, they're tracing art too now

A quick update: the artist has removed the two previous bits of art from their gallery. Still waiting on FA support to get back with me about EhJay.

May want to see if you can have the artist file a DMCA here or if you can get them pulled:

    https://app.box.com/s/maml8pb2i5qg53i2ktgtiqu83zjj0q4t

The commissions are listed on this site for sharing.

Here's their copyright complaint form:  https://cloud.app.box.com/copyright

Only the artist can fill that out, but you can try as the character owner.  Your character is technically copyright to you.

  11. As someone who does gore commissions this kind of behavior is absolutely out of line.  Thank you for coming forward, and I'm sorry you had to go through this.  If you contact FA staff they can pull the images.

Has the artist gotten with you to remove them?

  12. Howdy for future comments!  We do not allow people to report on "character theft" in which we compare how close one character is to another.  Using someone's closed species against their wishes is absolutely worthy of gaining entry here.  Coming in to say how this user made a character with the same elements as yours won't be approved.

  13. It never ceases to amaze me when temperamental artists and their managers have the audacity to throw a temper tantrum when their clients inevitably have to go public with the fact that they've been on the back burner for years.  Coming to you to say the piece was being reworked, and having a public queue would have been far better than stomping around and acting offended because you, as the client, aren't a mind reader.

This beware is very well warranted.

  14. Okay so I just forced a Paypal chargeback on her because she said she'd have an update for me, and a month later I had to find out on my own that she left.  I commissioned her on facebook, so had no idea what her other social media accounts were, and had to track her down from her invoice.  Only after I opened the claim did she actually respond to my message, but by then I wasn't going to let the claim go.

I'm severely disappointed that she didn't let other clients know she was leaving, especially her fursuit clients.
