  1. I would like to remind you both that now that lines of private communication are open again, that you have the opportunity to resolve this amicably.  It's much better than to publicly show anger in a forum where lots of strangers can see you in a way you may regret later.

Take some time to cool off rather than reply to each other in the heat of the moment.

  2. Howdy.

    This is Eden stepping in.

I've been largely absent due to irl, so this post falling through the cracks is on me as I'm the one with the most experience using sites to pay Russian artists.  I commission Russian artists almost exclusively.

I'm sorry this post was not handled with the usual care that we expect for Artists Beware.

    To the client:

    • The sites DO have their own internal exchange rates.  Ruff was not lying about this.  Some of the artists I work with regularly tell me which site is more favorable to them at the moment I am paying them.
    • Conversion rates change daily.
    • There should have been some grace here with the fact that the artist is ESL.  I've found when it comes to translating, things can end up sounding more harsh than intended.
    • It's dependent on your bank, but you can pay in RUB sometimes.  Your bank may do the conversion for you with a small fee.  Paypal via Lavatop will do the conversion for you.

    To the artist:

    • If you want to make sure you do not lose so much money in the exchange by having clients pay in RUB, then you NEED to advertise that on your auction.  It is easy to understand why a client would be upset if they are suddenly paying more than what they bid.  Even a simple note like "Payments are only accepted in RUB, which means you may end up paying more than your bid."
    • You can send refunds on Boosty.  It requires your client making an "artist" profile, and you can pay them like they would pay you.  Telling clients to "charge it back" themselves is dangerous for you and them as Boosty can terminate both of your accounts.

    Overall:

    • This post is staying online, but downgraded to a Caution due to the issues with not advertising the correct currency.
    • I have removed the claims at the end of your post.  Normally we would have asked for you to remove this as it's both third party reports and unfounded unless proven.  Either way, these complaints seem to stem from a misunderstanding on how these platforms operate.
    • I am approving the artist's comment so that there is no accusation that we are hiding their criticism.
    • I am leaving this comment to take responsibility and outline what changes we made.

I didn`t do a refund because on boosty the payer initiates the refund. You`re basically blaming me outloud for the thing I cannot do lol. And instead of a proper conversation in order to clarify how exactly you can get your money back you made a post on me)) so mature (no)

    Please see my comment below.

Update to the Paypal case, I called them and they told me they are siding with me on both cases. They told me the buyer can make an attempt to appeal, but they will have to bring forth entirely new information for their claims. I will update this post if need be. I converted my Paypal account to a business account due to advice I received (thank you). I added an updated window for the claim so that you can see the updated status. Now I only need to wait for the funds to be rereleased to me.

    Fantastic news!!

  6. The absolute audacity of this artist to claim you're not being patient when you were out of Paypal's refund window.  If you're that hard up emotionally, then refund.  That's it.

It isn't that I'm not sympathetic.  I've been there myself.  Our previous owner was my best friend, and there was a time I couldn't do anything after she passed.  I ended up refunding my queue.  Your clients aren't free loans nor charities.

This artist is swiftly ending up on our frequent flyer list, and the fact that you're not the only person they're asking for loans for rides from is worrying.

This has been resolved. The artist has contacted me and offered a partial refund, in addition to completion of the piece.

    Howdy!

This is excellent news.  Do you have both in hand?  Once you close this we won't reopen it, and it's unclear if you've been made whole.

Might want to add this link to the beware she changed their name to Web_Tech10 and posting the link to her art station.

    https://twitter.com/Web_tech10/status/1614504597766242307

Also would keep the old name since searching that one twitter leads to several others having art stolen being used in her scams.

Thanks for the heads up on the name change.

Although I say this in the politest way possible, but we don't need to be told how to do our jobs or run the archive. Dropping a link helps immensely, and we will take over from there.

Thanks for approving the post. Commissioner just wrote me (after this post was published) and paid the remaining amount. I think the situation is resolved.
