Commissioners Beware: CaWolfArt / CaWolf Art / Cawolf_

In late January this year, 2024, someone I follow posted a commission they got from CaWolfArt. I liked it so I reached out to them for a commission of my own. On February 1, we got to talking, and by February 12, payment was made and they said they would start working on the commission.

 

I check in a couple months later, on April 11 to see if there was any progress, but I received no response. I know many artists require 2-3 months, especially if they have multiple commissions, so I give it another month before reaching out again, on May 29.

 

On May 30, I finally receive a response. It's an apology for taking so long, and a promise that a WIP will be provided as soon as possible.

 

I wait longer. On July 6 I decide to reach out again, giving them the benefit of the doubt and purposely acting like I forgot to respond.

 

Between that day and August 17, there is radio silence. So I message them if they cannot finish the work, that's okay, but I would like a refund. The next day they contact and ask me not to request a refund, and show me a sketch WIP of the art.

 

I wait longer, and it's November 1st now, I ping them again. No response, but I ping them again on the 3rd. On the 4th, they apologize once again for the delay in responding, and that they were busy that weekend.

 

I decide enough is enough and try for a refund on the 11th. But it fails, because apparently you can't get a refund after 180 days. On the same day they apologize for the delay again, this time attributing it to power outages. They said they'll keep sending WIPs and finish the commission, but I highly doubt it. Just so you know, be careful of this artist. Throughout the year, they have posted new art on their media.
