beware Beware: ViewtifulBeck

My husband and I commissioned ViewtifulBeck back in December of 2023 on twitter for a fully rendered piece with a background and it ran us $100, which is a lot of money for us to be spending on a commission. It was not my first time commissioning him and my prior commissions were met with reasonable communication and delivered within a reasonable time so I vouched for him when my husband was searching for an artist to draw our dnd characters together, except this one we’ve been waiting longer than a year for. It feels like we’ve been chasing him through social media (twitter, bluesky) and his email to get in contact with him. I even had my husband message him to his email. I’ll post the screenshots below of our entire conversation history regarding this commission only.

First hiccup of communication met with a WIP. We both forgot about a paid comm for 5 months and then silence for 5 more months with no reply back.

This is when I ask my husband to send an email to see if he might just only be active through his email at the time. No response to this as far as I know.

Finally get a response back after chasing him to bluesky in which he promises it by the end of the day. 

We really wanted to give this artist the benefit of the doubt so we were willing to wait a few more weeks but with no communication or wips since, we figured we were just out $100 and no product to show for it. He did do my last two commissions within a reasonable amount of time and this was the only issue I’ve had with this artist but this was a really expensive commission for us.
