About Me

  1. Feb. 2nd, 2012 at 3:40 PM ryunwoofie Who: Sviperin (original account I dealt with), squidmnd, Ms.Delicious Where: Furaffinity.net When: Little before February 16th, 2010 What: Trade, traditional badge Info: Unfortunately most records of the earlier transaction have been deleted so I apologize about that. Anyway, about two years ago I posted a journal asking to do some traditional badge trades. That post has been since deleted for I don't keep my journals for long after I tend to finish what is on them. Sviprein and a few others inquired. I was really into Sivperin's character so I was excited to do so. It took a week or two to finish (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3431926/) and a little later it was laminated and mailed to her. I have since forgotten about it until a year later when I found out her account was compromised/hacked and was banned. I honestly forgot after a while then contacted her on her new account Ms.Delicious. First Contact Note(s): http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000pk75 After I contacted her I waited patiently since October 12th, 2011 with new information about what I wanted done. Since then she said she was busy with school, which I can relate. But since then she has pumped out a lot of icons and other commission related stuff so I once again inquired about the deal. At this point I was a little miffed that she kept keeping my trade off at this point. I tried to ask for something smaller and easier for I just wanted something/anything at this point. Second Contact Note(s): http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000szz5 After I noted her the last straw and the final idea/info she put immediately posted a journal stating she was going on hiatus. I myself find it very suspicious and rude.. She read my last note but has not responded. At this point I have no idea if she'll just account hop again and avoid things. I just wanted to put this out there for others to see. Journal time stamp screenshot w/ profile spammed w/ 'HIATUS HIATUS HIATUS HIATUS' : http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000r3wp Originally I had NO intentions of making an A_B about this trade until she decided to be immature and run away on a "hiatus" with no response or good reason... Very very disappointed. Edit 1: Got a response http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000trt9 Will update if she follows through. Edit 2: Resolved. I'm sad that it had to come through here first, but I'm glad I got something from it. Thanks. :3 Edit 3: Final 'apology' and image http://pics.livejournal.com/ryunwoofie/pic/0000wktk http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7336256
  2. Jan. 31st, 2012 at 12:06 PM arctic_wuff WHO: orthan WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/orthan WHAT: 2 character commission paid in full up-front. WHEN: Payment was made May 1, 2010 with commission details and such being discussed at the end of April 2010. PROOF: Other than the FA notes, work was never started. See screen captures under cut EXPLAIN: I don’t have all the logs any longer (had a harddrive failure), but after paying the artist in May I agreed to wait until June 2010 for the work. Then artist requested more time and I allowed that. After that point getting a hold of the artist became very difficult and replies seemed to stop coming. I have requested a refund from the artist and have seen nothing yet. Unfortunately the paypal buyer protection time had passed so I was unable to file for a refund with paypal. RESOLVED: After getting a hold of the artist again I was able to get a refund.
  3. Jan. 24th, 2012 at 1:42 AM nedrae WHO: Shizuki/Chevi. She apparently already had a beware, but I didn't know of this community back when this started.WHERE: FurAffinityWHAT: Full-body color, one character, $60. Here are her current terms and conditions, but I don't know if they have been changed in the interim and I didn't save a copy. What I do remember is that the no-refunds clause wasn't there, but unfortunately I have no proof. WHEN: Initial note sent on FA on July 18th, 2010, payment made the next day, mutually agreed deadline of early November 2010.PROOF: Full album. (Screenshots in chronological order, same as below) EXPLAIN: The full album, in detail. This is almost all of our communication, except for some of my replies acknowledging her notes, and which she usually quoted anyway: http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#1o Initial contact http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#2o Paypal was being stupid to me http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#3o A friend helps me out and pays in my behalf, I pay him back here http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#4o http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#5o My friend had talked to her about this. She was okay with this and let me know I could go ahead with the request. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#6o e-mail with the commission details. Not blurred because meh, and her e-mail address is public already. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#7o She got my email. I assume she was okay with it (the only complicated bit was somewhat large wings for the character, but I made it clear that they weren't necessary) http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#8o She says deadline won't be met. That's alright, it happens and I understand and hope she gets it all sorted out soon. I responded saying it was fine and to keep me in the loop. Then I admittedly let it slip for a while, and she didn't respond until I sent her another note on February 2011. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#9o I got pushed into her immediate to-do list apparently. In retrospect I should have taken that refund at this point. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#10o Got this at the end of March, she said it'd be done during April, offered me a free icon but I didn't care about it. I just replied saying I didn't see the need for changes, though I hadn't seen a sketch yet. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#11o July 9th. Again in the immediate to-do list. Promised to contact me on the 20th, or if not, done by early August. July 20th came by and I didn't see anything. Kept waiting. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#12o Sent on August 30th, more things had happened, offered free stuff again (that I ignored because I was focused on my actual commission). Sketch real soon she says. At this point it's been over a year since our first contact and payment. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#13o Apparently this was sent to all of the people she owed art to. My response is here: http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#14o. The link at the end of her note is this: http://i299.photobucket.com/albums/mm313/cheviart/Commissions/wheredoIgo.png http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#15o She acknowledges. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#16o Three months later I ask her again. She thought I asked for a deadline of December 15th when I had actually said mid-november. More than a year since the original deadline. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#17o She says she mixed up the dates, apologizes about the lack of a sketch (almost a year and a half now), and promises finished art (i.e. not a sketch, and what I assumed would be the final art with no possibility of change) by the 19th. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#18o I am an idiot and agree to the finished art instead of pushing for the sketch. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#19o As soon as she's on break I'm her top priority. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#20o December 21st and I haven't seen anything yet, now she says it'll be done before the end of the month. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#21o Mini-update on the 30th, it won't be done by new year, but she says she'll try to get it done before she returns to school on the 9th, and asks if any changes need to be made. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#22o My reply, can't ask for changes if I haven't even seen the sketch yet. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#23o January 20th, this is when I seriously started considering writing this whole thing, and I think it shows. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#24o I made a mistake, corrected http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#25o She is aware of how long I've been waiting. Says stuff will come out during the weekend. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#26o Apparently I misplaced those two files in the interim. http://min.us/mNKxX8T9K#27o Sent the files by e-mail and also uploaded to min.us And today is the 24th, and I haven't seen anything at all. TL;DR Commission paid on July 2010, agreed on a deadline of early November 2010, commission kept being pushed back and in almost 18 months she has been unable to produce a single sketch. Meanwhile Until today, her commission account's gallery has 165 submissions since the date of my original deadline (October 31st, 2010). So yeah I'm a bit miffed. EDIT: Earlier today (April 4th 2012) I received the finished art from her after a couple of rounds of sketches and corrections, I'll contact a mod shortly to mark this post as resolved.
  4. Jan. 19th, 2012 at 7:43 PM punkspacewafers I posted a "lost contact" about this user a while ago, it can be found here: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/549356.html WHO: Feltified WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/feltified/ http://www.etsy.com/people/Feltified?ref=pr_profile WHAT: A commission for some felted Pokemon. On August 30th 2011 I messaged Feltified after being referred by a friend, and completely fell in love with their creations. I instantly sent a note asking about commissions, as seen in the first screencap below. The entire conversation can be read. After the second screencap, I haven't heard from them since. I've sent 5-6 notes on FA and some shouts on their page and even a couple of Etsy messages, but it seems they just read my notes and don't respond. PROOF: Convo 1 (Read from top down) Payment Convo 2 What's changed from last time: I've sent a few more messages, however this time they have gone unread in the FA outbox. It seems as though they are ignoring me completely. I also sent a couple of messages on Etsy, which I KNOW they're active on, due to the most recent feedback left. seen here: http://www.etsy.com/people/Feltified/feedback?type=for_others I'm changing the status from "lost contact" to "Beware."
  5. Jan. 17th, 2012 at 3:18 AM kiba_lutrova This is my first post here so please forgive me if its not as informative or as well written as others. WHO: Calanon WHERE: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/calanon/ WHAT: I ordered 3 waist up commissions from Calanon and as of yet have received no progress. WHEN: This started around mid-July, this note having been completed on July 18th http://i.imgur.com/EIUhQ.png (paypal blurred out for privacy reasons) and from that point we exchanged a few more notes, with the next few notes being more of the same, getting a reply here and there but not often, with my notes being weeks/months apart http://i.imgur.com/9Xy3o.png PROOF: My paypal receipt as follows (with personal information blurred) http://i.imgur.com/IK0DQ.png EXPLAIN: As stated in the above comments, I have tried to be patient for months and months now, only sending a note every few weeks or months at times, sometimes I got a reply, sometimes I didnt. It's not that i'm impatient, i've waited longer than this for pictures from friends that involved no money. But having paid for 3 pictures well over 6 months ago and still nothing really bothers me. Not only that but they also posted pictures that other people bought when they originally put up a journal for these commissions http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2515899/ They posted a few pictures such as http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6145146/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6183808/ shortly after the journal was up then stopped for a while, 2 months later finishing a few more http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6505015/ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6486663/ After finishing more commissions they have all but ceased activity on furaffinity, with some people leaving shouts asking about their own commissions as well as me, since then they have closed their deviantart account - http://raven-greiver.deviantart.com/ and facebook account - http://www.facebook.com/Raven Greiver and has not responded to current notes awaiting to be read. Although they have been active on their steam account http://steamcommunity.com/id/BlackLiightning which tells me they are still around but not paying attention to those of us on FA asking for a status update. All of the above accounts are linked from their FA account under contact information. I don't know what to do at this point to either try to keep in contact and try to get my commissions or ask for a refund, its been over 90 days so I don't think I can request a paypal refund from the website. EDIT: She got back in contact with me today and has a new FA account and says she will be doing all the commissions that she has taken the few months ago now. So anyone that ordered a commission from her, her new account is posted on her FA page and is awaiting details from anyone who commissioned her in the past few months. I appreciate the feedback I got on behalf of this entry and thank you to everyone who helped out with this.
  6. Jan. 11th, 2012 at 3:00 PM jamjams WHO: radioactive-heartsx WHERE: deviantART WHAT: Commission WHEN: 5 months ago On Aug 27, 2011 I was approached by the user radioactive-heartsx on deviantART regarding a plush commission of her cat character. At first I quoted her $105 as the original price for the commission, but decided to lower the price to $90, since I've never been asked or commissioned to make a cat plushie, and because I had all the fur materials needed to make her plush. Here's a screenshot of our full conversation regarding all the plush details: http://comments.deviantart.com/1/198462502/2168067233 After our discussion through comments we took it to notes so I could give her my paypal information, once given, she told me she was unable to pay until October, which I told her was fine since I had no other prior commissions to worry about. Here's a screenshot of our conversation about payment details (paypal address was blacked out.) http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/JamJams/Commissionpaymentnotes1.jpg Then on September 6, 2011 I received a note from her asking about the progress of the plush so far -- I told her that I had everything cut out and within the next couple of days I would have a WIP set of pictures for her, which she was fine with. Here's a link to a screenshot of the note she sent me regarding the progress of the plush. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/JamJams/NoteaboutWIPpictures.jpg On September 11, 2011 I sent her the first set of WIP pictures of the plush, and she told me she was actually unable to pay till Oct. 15th, which again was fine since at this point I did receive another plush commission so I put her's on hold and started to work on the plush commission that was actually paid in full ( it states in my ToS that I work on plushies in the order payment was received, so since this user paid before her's their plush became priority number one). On October 14, 2011 I decided to just go ahead and upload the WIP pictures of the plush to my deviantART account (seen here - http://jamjams.deviantart.com/art/white-and-black-cat-plush-WIP-263479518 ) since I was about finished with the one, and I wanted to remind her of the commission since contact at this time was very scarce. -- When October 15, 2011 came I expected to receive a note from her along with payment for the plush... I received neither. Finally on October 17, 2011 I hear from her through the comments I left on her front page linking her to the WIP pictures (comments can be seen here http://comments.deviantart.com/4/12297780/2237637305 also here's a link to a note I sent her on the 17th http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/JamJams/notes.jpg which was the last note I received from her). November 10, 2011 I decided to go ahead and try and make contact with her once more since she appeared to be active on deviantART, (the note I sent her can be seen here: http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/JamJams/lastnotesent.jpg ). The note I sent her was read, but never replied to. Its been 5 months of not receiving payment nor any contact about the cancellation of the plush, I figured it was time to place a beware about this user, since apparently she's done this before.
  7. Jan. 11th, 2012 at 3:10 PM wolfy_chan WHO: AutumnHoney on DA (previously known as Xx-Manda-Panda-xX on DA) WHERE:(new)http://autumnhoney.deviantart.com/ (old)http://xx-manda-panda-xx.deviantart.com/ WHAT: Custom costume hat to be made specifically by October, 2010 (for convention purposes) WHEN: July 5th, 2010 - Inquired about a custom hat commission, she seemed delighted about the project. Back and forth responses about the design and pricing for a few days. I asked that this project be finished before early October 2010 since I wanted to wear it to a convention, she agrees says it will be around 40USD so I send her references. July 7th, 2010 - She replies with the price of 60USD for the custom changes which was A OK with me. July 10th, 2010 - Sent the required amount via paypal. Payment was received with no problems. July 11th, 2010 - Set up a Skype movie conversation with her so she could show me the fabrics she bought for the project. They looked awesome and I gave her the OK to start. August 22nd, 2010 - Sent a polite PM asking how everything is going. No response. September 16th, 2010 - Sent her another PM asking if everything is okay. No response. October 10th-31st - I leave multiple messages on her dash, spaced out a few weeks in between to ask how everything is and to finally ask for a refund. No response to any of them and every message was 'hidden by owner'. November 27th 2010 - Way past due date with no responses to DA PMs, I email her politely asking for a refund, saying I will leave a negative review on her DA dash to warn further customers if she doesn't respond. No response. February 1st, 2011 - I have not tried to contact her since the last email, leaving another post on her dash. No response, 'hidden by owner'. February 22nd, 2011 - She closes her DA account. I leave another message, no response and hides it, reiterates closing the account in May, 2011. January 9th, 2012 - Somehow I remember about all of this and make an effort to see if this person is still on DA somewhere and I end up finding her. I contact her once more asking for a refund and stating I will post negative reviews on her business webpages if she does not refund me. She FINALLY responds saying that I have been 'harassing' her and will refund me but 'don't deserve it'. She has the gall to also say that she has 'tried to contact me' multiple times when I have not seen any sort of initiative to do so. PROOF: Response to the inquiry about a commission via DA PM on July 5th; Paypal payment sent July 10th, 2010; Name change on their paypal clarifies it's them on DA. The paypal notice used to be under their old name. (detail on that in explanation) EXPLAIN: Ugh, okay. Let me be the first to say that I am normally a very patient person when it comes to commissioning things. I myself am an artist and I take commission work regularly, so I know all about commission woes and the such-- but it pisses me off to no end when you get no response for months and YEARS at this point only to find out they moved to a new account then try to say they contacted you multiple times when I have gotten NOTHING of the sort for years. As the timeline states above, I commissioned Manda-Panda on July 5th 2010 to do a custom hat for me and they seemed thrilled to pieces to do it. Price was set, I paypaled them promptly and everything seemed to be going fine. We even set up a skype conversation and she showed me on a webcam all of the materials she bought to make it and they all looked awesome. We agreed it would be done by October so I could wear it to a convention where I was going to sell my artwork in costume. Time goes by and I don't hear anything about updates or progress, so I send another friendly poke. PMs were sent as followed; (this pm was longer than one line, posting it here) October rolls around and I hear nothing back. When your sent PMs are read by the recipent, they turn light green as they did in the screenshot, so I know she read them. I poke her on her DeviantArt Dash to check her pms to respond to me, of which messages she hides or has hidden since then. None of them were nasty posts, just enough information to warn others that I was not given the commission work she promised me and that she had yet to refund me. As I myself am someone who does commission work, I am thoroughly bonded and branded with the business etiquette of it. Every post that was hidden and wasn't responded to was as polite as they could be, asking for a refund and a response and nothing more. In November I send her an email asking for a refund and a small warning that I will leave negative feedback yet again if she doesn't respond to me; I will admit I did sound a bit brash when I threatened to expose her name and misconduct on journals of my websites, but for the life of me she would not respond to anything! She even CLOSES her DA account and apparently wipes off the face of the earth. Finally I say to myself, 'you know what? sixty bucks isn't worth the hassle, I'll forget about it'. ...That is until I found out she had made a new account completely, under the name of AutumnHoney. I know that that is her new account because my paypal statement shows this new name in my history. Loe and behold, same icon, same merchandise on the DA page, and the kicker is that they are taking commissions! I'm passed peeved at this point and do send a harsh PM at this point (not within reason) that states I will in fact post everything to my webpages and make an article on A_B if she does not refund me. Here is what follows; Her reply: My response: I am just... Beyond baffled. Where is said replies? None to my email, none to my DA PMs, I am just -floored- they even responded like that. I said I would not post of this ordeal anywhere until we are finally resolved but I am just blown away by everything that has gone on and this is too ridiculous to keep in the dark. I know I look really bad posting this anyways and using a threat like that. I will admit that I was in the wrong for lashing out myself, but I was beyond furious and will take any slack that comes from that... But was I really in the wrong anywhere? waiting to post weeks and months and years after asking where my refund/product is? This is just a concerned warning for anyone that wants to deal with this person in the future. I can't see how this is all a 'huge mistake' because I have no proof in my inboxes for the past 2 years that they have tried to contact me before this. I'll update on this case if it progresses any further. UPDATE 1: Artist has yet again chose to read my message and has failed to reply with 'proof' that they have actually responded or did work on this project. I'll give it a few more days. UPDATE 2: They have finally paid me back. They did not reply or say anything, I just had money in my inbox today. It makes me think their spat was entirely made up and they never did anything. Just glad it's over. UPDATE 3: I heard back from the artist today saying that they have sent me messages and what's been going on. I feel very bad about their unfortunate things in their life and if I were to have heard about them in messages, I would have been patient and left it alone. Unfortunately I honestly don't know if the messages were actually sent or not and am waiting for a response. If this was a big miss-hap, count the entire thing as 'Resolved' and do not discredit their business over this. I just don't understand how I could not get 'so many PMs' since I get dozens and dozens from other users just fine.
  8. Jan. 8th, 2012 at 8:21 PM marblestheskunk This is an update of this: http://artists-beware.livejournal.com/517601.html She came back to FA about two weeks ago, claiming she had NO POSSIBLE way to get internet access for the past 5 months [even though its only been 4 months since her last submission] and she had been giving people shouts and favs that I saw throughout this whole time, so I honestly don't believe it. And even so, she could have found a way to get up with her PAYING customers. Well, she FINALLY finished it, after I talked to her a few times asking her what was going on. I basically commented on one of her submissions to get her attention to finish it, it was personal art which she had been posting ONLY personal art in the past two weeks since she came back. So I commented on her newest submission and asked why was she drawing personal art instead of working on commissions. She proceeded to be very rude to me and was coming up with excuses. I told her it was her JOB to do what she was paid for and if she spent all the time that she had been doing personal art[I counted about 6 pieces since shes been back] then she could have gotten it done by now. The submission we talked on is still there but she has hidden all of our comments and I was not able to get a screencap before so but here it is: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7178207 Well she posted the submission of my commission a little bit later.. Submission: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7178585/ Screenshot in case she deletes it or changes the tags: http://oi43.tinypic.com/2czyrlu.jpg She even wrote in the TAGS of the submission that it was rushed [in a very rude way] I pretty much don't even want to use it now, she has left a HORRIBLE taste in my mouth and it makes me extremely weary to ever commission anyone I don't know again. This artist is extremely unprofessional and I would NOT recommend commissioning them.

When Toonpimp first found some of my sprites, he showed interest and wanted to make an adult game of it as of January 26, 2008[1]. I agreed to it and we started work on the game that was 6-bit Pixelforce. However, during halfway in on his part, he changes his mind and decides to make it an average 2D sidescroll shooter. The result of it: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1290130 which was a poorly put together small flash game completed on May 10, 2008. But because people were interested in my sprites that weren't used, I decided to start work on another game project. I did bring this up with Toonpimp, however, he outright refused unless paid. So I began a character auction primarily on here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/728773 on May 5, 2009. I did request of him to begin work on a demo of the game, but he was lazy about this. The demo was rushed and sloppily done with mismatched animations and several glitches. The worst part was that the game was unable to run on other computers[2]. The total he was financed for this project was a little over $390. But when I let him go, I asked for only $150 but is refusing because ‘I kept him waiting for two years’ and ‘wasted his time.’ Evidence is in the chat logs file in parts discussing money. All of this being discussed through the chats as when his paypal was deleted, all records of transactions with him were as well[2]. During this time working on Pixelforce, the chat logs reveal quite a bit of disturbing information that includes sexual harassment. He tries in many chats requests for naked pictures of me in order to do more work into the game. For a while, I thought he was joking although he has in time made evident he was serious. Every time I did bring up this game, he would often go on a rampage, even saying the game should fail. He goes as far to deny being paid as one of his Paypal accounts was deleted, because Paypal does not support porn based businesses[2]. While working on this project, I was given the chance to promote my game on his forum where he made evident his disinterest with this game and for a while people on his forum were not in support of my game because of that. I did have a sub-forum for my project as a new way of organizing the new games being developed all at once. When I let people know that I had let Toonpimp go, he retaliated by not only locking my sub-forum, but deleted it and noted me to leave his forum[4]. Before firing Toonpimp, I decided on a more tactful method that would not be too insulting…twice[5]. He claims that it was because of him just for his name and forum he was making the money I attained for this project and therefore refused to give a refund[3]. I gave him plenty of chances to try and turn things around, yet he only spat in my face telling me to get lost. I have been contacting everyone who has donated for this game and let them know of what has occurred so they can contact him about getting their money back. He is refusing and claiming to produce ‘his own version’ of the game[6]. tl;dr Toonpimp is a programmer that doesn’t give people what they pay for. If he doesn’t like a project, he charges extra, even when already commissioned and is refusing to give a refund after being fired and booted me off his forums. Only continuing to work to not give a refund. He gets angry easily when I bring the game up. Sexual harassment trying to solicit to doing more work as payment to get naked pictures. Does not keep in touch about project or updates unless threatened and does little work. Update Edit 03/15/12 Toonpimp and I had come to an agreement. That being he would give a partial refund on the conditions that I don't send people after him about a refund, leave his forum, and say nothing of him. I agreed and decided to wait. I did wait until February to contact him again for a refund, but he told me to simply leave him alone and he'd send the money when he gets it. I waited another month, and now I find he's blocked me on FA, deleted my account on his forum, and also telling other people that he won't do anything to pay up thus placing him under theft which apparently has happened multiple times in his career. Ironically enough, one of his reasons for blocking me was because of my posting our chat logs after I had fired him saying it was violating privacy, yet he fails to acknowledge the fact he showed someone that disliked him the game while under development and the guy threatened to release it as I mentioned in my article above. Or how he only intended to give me 'tools' to do this myself and him not to complete it, yet also said he planned on finishing the game himself even after I fired him, which almost landed an article of him under Artist Theft. Here's the 3 PMs, the first two from him and the third being from a contributor that contacted him since TP had me blocked. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/341/pmsj.png/ I'll keep updated with more evidence in time.
  10. Jan. 5th, 2012 at 5:31 PM mozz1 I have reason to believe I was scammed by an artist on Furaffinity It happened about year ago, I met with an artist online who was just starting out, but seemed promising. Me and him established a good friendship, and coincidentally we only live maybe 30 minutes away from each other. So we decided to meet up at a restaurant. We had a great time, and left on a really positive note. But before we left, I gave him 20 dollars cash for a color and ink commission. The artist in question is named Furinkazan, and here is his FA page: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/furinkazan/ Shortly after me and Furinkazan met in person, he began talking to me less and less on MSN, until he decided to eventually block me for reasons unknown. And for months, I could not get in touch with him. I tried sending him only a few PM's through FA just to see if he was still active, which he did not respond to. But I knew he was active, as he was favoriting others works, and occasionally posting his own. At that point I made a very grave mistake which I wholeheartedly regret doing and posted on Furinkazan's shout box something along the lines of: "Thanks for stealing 20 bucks from me" That shout was immediately deleted by him, and he left a shout on my page, marked a year ago, which you can see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/mozz/ It says: "I never said I wouldn't finish your commission, so don't accuse me of stealing in a public arena when I've stolen nothing from you. If you have something to say, note me." Even though it was a bad idea, I figured now he was finally going to talk to me, I PM'ed him back, and the conversation is as follows: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm1.png So it would appear, it all worked out in the end. Well not quite. Even though we made up, I still never got any commission from him, but I did wish him happy holidays: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm2.png We then clarified what I wanted my commission to be: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm3.png And that was the last time we talked. He still blocked me from MSN, but he promised me that he was going to do the commission. A half a year passes, and still no commission from him. However I'm still being patient, and when his birthday comes around, I leave a shout on his page wishing him a happy birthday. He leaves a shout back on my page, which is still there that says: "Thanks! I'll have your stuff done soon, sorry it's taken so long." What I did next might have probably put him over the edge, and it was also something stupid I did that I regret doing. Last month on September 5th, I left a shout on his page saying "Happy one year anniversary that I still haven't got my commission! :D" Well that shout was quickly deleted, my name was removed from his owed commissions list, and I was blocked from his page entirely. I was not trying to start drama, I was merely stating that its been a year now, and I still don't have my commission. I completely went about it the wrong way So now a month later. At this point, I don't care if I don't get my commission, or if I don't get a refund, I just want the community to know that Furinkazan is a scam artist, and to not make the same mistake I did. I tried contacting several different FA administrators, but they all ignored me. Finally as my last step, I made a thread on the FA forums, and a few civil people there redirected me to Arists_beware, since it is quite clear from that thread, that they do not care that there is a scam artist still at large, and that I am the one at fault somehow, that I was harassing him. Here is a link to the thread in question: http://forums.furaffinity.net/threads/108723-Scam-artist-on-FA Well apparently from the thread the issue was resolved, at least for the moment. After much consideration, I gave furinkazan my home address so he can send the refund through the mail, as shown in this PM: http://qrf.servequake.com/~orl/misc/pm4.png Well it has been three months later, and I still have yet to receive that refund, which I kind of expected I wasn't going to receive. I admit completely, that there were moments where I should have handled the situation much more appropriately, and not have said some of the things I said. Unfortunately, I cannot take what I said back, but I did apologize for what I said, and understand it was wrong to do so. But I still feel that does not excuse the fact that it has been a year and a half that I paid this artist for a simple piece of artwork that I will never receive, plus the fact he probably has no plans on refunding my commission money.
  11. Jan. 4th, 2012 at 1:00 AM sciuraamethysta WHO: Kimhana on Livejournal and Deviantart; formerly kimhana on Tumblr, URL now taken by another user WHERE: Deviantart (since deactivated) found here WHAT: A $40 full color digital picture WHEN: The commission was discussed and paid for in full in September of 2010. Contact was made again to check in as of January 2011; over the next few months, various accounts of the artist began to deactivate (LJ and Tumblr, specifically). Numerous emails to multiple addresses were not responded to in August and September of 2011; as of December 2011, the artist's Deviantart account, where the commission was originally discussed, was deactivated. PROOF: A screenshot of the original commission is here (with discussion of the prompt interspersed with personal conversation blacked out for convenience of reading) and a corresponding Paypal screenshot with emails blacked out can be found here . EXPLAIN: It absolutely breaks my heart to do this, as Kimhana remains a favorite artist of mine. If anyone has any information on her, why she's been deactivating, etc, I would love to hear it. The fact that she's dropped off the face of the internet hurts far more than the possibility of losing a commission. From what I can understand, it seems that she switched fandoms and then proceeded to delete her old accounts. For now, this is the most logical series of events that I can piece together. Best case scenario, she's forgetful and the commission slipped her mind and got brushed under the rug as her interests changed. But in the end, if nothing changes, I have to strongly advise against commissioning her. RESOLVED - After a few messages, the last of which mentioned the posting here, she responded on Tumblr and was very apologetic. She offered me a number of options, including a full refund. I took her up on the refund, and she has delivered. Thank you all very much for helping me to resolve this old problem - I appreciate it. :) EDIT: Added Paypal information, clarified Tumblr address, and added links to dead pages. SECOND EDIT: Turns out the Tumblr I originally linked was, by an eerie coincidence, an entirely different person. Please disregard that. THIRD EDIT: Evidently she is indeed still very active on tumblr, but under the changed URL http://neophytecherryglare.tumblr.com/ . ...and asking for commissions. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
