About Me

  1. In July of 2019 I preordered a set of kaiju pins from Squeedgemonster, and they received my money the same day. In the proceeding months the pins were never sent, although they were received by the artist by October. The artist provided their e-mail to send all questions to, as they were purging their social media accounts of accounts that they were following, and closed their DMs on those websites. However, since October, they have not answered a single one of these emails, and have not spoken about the pins at all since December, despite being active since then. The following is the original announcement tweet, from March 29 2019. (archive) (note: squeedge.art has since become defunct) Although this tweet says that preorders were to close in April, they were not actually closed, as that is how I was able to order them myself, and how the artist was able to receive my money. Unfortunately I do not have a dated screenshot of this from the day I ordered it; I'm not in the habit of doing that, anyway, and squeedge.art is also now defunct. However, in this tweet they tell another user that preorders are staying open after the originally specified date: (archive) Here is the screenshot of my Transaction ID, retrieved from my PayPal: In this tweet Squeedge, on October 1 2019, shows the pins and claims that they now have them, and will ship them ASAP: (archive) I replied to this tweet as follows. At the time of writing, this is the only correspondence they have had with me personally at all in regards to this order. (archive) (context: at the time the artist did not have their gmail in their twitter bio, but at the time of writing, they now do.) However, the following is the ONLY time they have mentioned the pins since then, and they had (and still have) yet to answer any of my emails: (archive) The following screenshot consists of all of the emails I have sent them. Do note the entire lack of response on their part, although my emails were sent shortly after a spurt of Twitter activity, in hopes of "catching" them: I have been very patient and understanding in this process, I would like to think. I have even offered to pay for shipping again, because I understand the money originally set aside for shipping more than likely had to be spent on other necessities. However, the complete lack of response in spite of subsequent online activity is very troubling to me. I just don't know what else to do. I'm well past Paypal's buyer protection window, and since I purchased the pins with my Paypal balance it's not like I could call my bank and dispute it that way. At this point I just want a response. I do not think that is an unreasonable expectation for an artist.
  2. So, the artist initially had posted an emergency 20 art pieces for 50 dollars deal in order to get medical treatment for their pet rats. Originally I was told I'd get extra 10 stickers, and/or an icon. I was told I'd get a refund after 30 days if 10/20 weren't finished. Over a few months I received a few sketches, but nothing was ever completed. I was promised a refund on 11/10/2019, but on that date he told me his job didn't work out, and it wasn't worth getting a job until the summer. I opened a paypal dispute and offered to let him do 10 of the original 20 (or 30 if you countthe extras he promised me) . After he refused to try I asked him to do 3 fullbody pics (same quality as stickers,no background) and one fullbody with a background. Again, I received sketches but nothing finished. I was asked to cancel my dispute as it was stressing him, and ultimately he never finished anything, and provided paypal a fraudulent tracking number with my digital art. He has since gone against his word and completely stopped working... My bank is pending a result on 01/13/2020 for my dispute. Any advice as to how I can get a refund for sure, or how I can get some art or something? This has been over 4 months I haven't seen this money. Unless he refunds me in the summer or my dispute pull through I dont think I'll ever see my monies again Mod note: We had to censor some extremely personal information that the OP missed on censoring.
  3. Oh April 24th of this year, i had commissioned Jazz-o for a 3 way collab commission with two other people. I was given a deadline of 2 weeks. I will admit fault on my part for failing to follow up after 2 weeks but i will admit i had completely forgotten about the commission at the time. When i did remember, it had been 4-5 months since the commission had been ordered. When i did remember, i had contacted Jazz-o on Discord to request an update on the commission's progress. I was informed that things were on hold due to a recent death in the family and was told it would get completed. Nothing was said to imply the art was being worked on. Not long after, i had a change of heart and decided i no longer wanted the artwork. Under the impression that the work still hadn't been started, i contacted Jazz-o to request a full refund, to which she agreed. She informed me she didn't have the money to refund me that day, but said she'd be able to get the money back to me in 1-2 months. I agreed to wait. 2 months pass and i receive a note from Jazz-o on deviantART claiming the artwork was now almost completely finished and that she could only offer me a $10 refund for what hadn't been done yet. I find out that the sketch had actually been finished at the time i requested the refund and simply wasn't informed of it. I had to remind her that i stated i did not want the art anymore. I did receive the artwork instead of the agreed upon refund, but i did not want it and made that clear twice before receiving it. I'm posting this because there are several other cases of unfulfilled obligations on Jazz-o's end and i'd like to warn anyone who may or may not have considered commissioning her about the possible outcome of doing so.
  4. In late June I commissioned DevilRush to draw 2 full color pictures for a friend's birthday that was coming up in a couple weeks. We discussed the details of the commission over Discord, although I originally approached them through Twitter. Their Twitter was banned, and they had to make a new one. All records of that time have been lost. Original discussion went well. DR seemed happy to work on the pictures and when I mentioned it was a friend's birthday, they said that they would hurry them up. The first sketch was delivered in a couple days. Immediately after this, however, DevilRush disappeared from the internet for over a month. There are unfortunately no records of this, as their twitter was deleted after the fact. From gathering information from other people who had commissioned them, it appears that DR took the money from opening 20 commission slots and used it to buy themselves a new tablet. Then, they took on an undisclosed "big project" for their college and had to devote 100% of their time towards it. I messaged them over twitter several times in the next couple months, but got no response. After 2 months of radio silence towards me, DR started posting personal pictures to their pixiv and new Twitter. After confronting them about this, they said they hadn't forgotten and had been working on other commissions that they'd not posted publicly. They also offered to pay me back the price of the commission after it was done. I declined, saying I just wanted the commission I'd paid for. The last correspondence I had with DR was on October 24. Since then, they have been dipping in and out of Twitter, posting old images. Recently they've posted WIPs of personal works, which prompted me to message them again. I have not received any response as of December 8th. It is too late to issue a chargeback, and I am completely done.
  5. So back in 2018 at FWA I commissioned Kenner for two badges, one for myself and the other for my SO. I was told that we could pick them up Monday before they left but unfortunately we had to leave Sunday night. I provided them with an address where they could send the badges once they were finished but we never received them. A year of waiting later I get back in contact with Kenner and ask for updates, I get told that they're being worked on or sent to me and nothing happens for months. I'm told I would receive scans, nothing. After those months of waiting I gave them an ultimatum, show me that something has been done or I'll be requesting a refund and sharing the chat logs that I've kept to as many places as possible. Doing that got me pictures of the badges actually finished, so now all they had to do was mail them to me and I provided my addresses where they could send me the badges (I moved so I made sure to give them the updated address). Now I'm about to move again, I gave them a day to have the badges to me by and told them again that if I didn't get the badges, I'd be sharing the evidence that I have of them not following through on their commission. Now that time has come and I am following through.
  6. Edit 12.18.19: Mastercard has sided in the artist's favor due to a 120 day filing limit. <<To moderater, i might need help explaining things, or explination of what might be wrong with my claim, I or you can delete this, if needed >>> In July 16, 2019.I had posted via polycount, a job/commission. Trying to get help for a personal project with animating and help with refining a 3D model. When I was contacted Mr.Davis sent me several youtube videos and a website of their previous work. After reviewing it, I had decided to choose Mr.Davis for the project in question. Many things during our back-and-forth email had let me know we were both in understanding of what was project was. From there, we had decided to go through the bulk of the coversation through Discordapp.com. The following week we had hashed out all details and 'trimmings' of what was to be done and further discussed when prompted. the total cost was to be 1200 USD. After both of is agreeing to a "half now, half later" payment process. Mr. Davis went to work. During the same mention week. We had chatted on what needed to be fixed and what had been completed thus far. Then, a very long unwarrented, hiatus started. I waited 3 week with no contact of any kind. After trying to contact them a decent amount of times. Only to be told that by Mr. Davis had not been working on the agreed-to, project hardly at all due to other work taking over too much. I understood having too much to do and so I left it at that. I waited 2 more weeks. After trying for contact again. Mr. Davis stated that they they were, just now, visiting family, with little acknowledgement of the hiatus mentioned prior. Mr. Davis said after two weeks they would be back to getting back on track. I waited the alloted two weeks and then tried to contact them to see if all was well. No responses were had for 1 month, after the claimed 2 week, requested delay. It has been a total of 3 months trying to get in contact of my project or progress. I have filed a Paypal refund, only to be denied. Paypal stating that "I had recieved what was commissioned". I did not. As of now, I want to try and get in contact with Mr. Davis to see what went wrong. As, Mr. Davis has blocked me on Discorapp.com. I want to either get my money back or get what I was promised. If anyone could help with this, I would appreciate it.
  7. So, I commissioned TattooRexy for a two character NSFW piece (bits covered, but still sexual), and after showing me the sketch they proceeded to stop replying. I of course kept trying, and sent a few more messages their way that they didn't even bother to look at, so I tried messaging their partner, asking them to please inform the artist that they need to get back to me; She was very friendly and told me she would get on it. I don't know if she did, but either way nothing happened. I waited a few weeks and sent them another message, asking yet AGAIN to have them inform their partner; They didn't reply. Now, a few months later, I open up a refund request through paypal, and only NOW does the artist look at my messages (on FA, when you look at a note it goes from yellow to black, indicating that it has been received and read), but still haven't replied, neither on FA nor paypal. TattooRexy does state in their TOS that a commissioner can get a refund at anytime, but will ALWAYS be blacklisted afterwards, I now see why they do this, and it is such a dick move. By doing this, most people who would get upset and request a refund, will simply just accept the total unprofessional nature of this artist and wait the months, or years, it'd take for them to reply, or let alone finish the piece.
  8. Alright this is a bit lengthy but I'll TRY to keep it short since this transaction started way back in May of this year. I ordered a plush commission on a discount price of $55 from Ghostly_howl on May 19 2019. She immediately accepts my commission and tells me a time frame of which this will be done. Great! I'm fine waiting five months for this to get completed. It's an anxiety plushie for my significant other, of his dog that passed away last year. I SPECIFICALLY tell them not to ghost me...and well, the pictures tell the rest of the story pretty well. Eventually I find her second account and contact her there, to which she EVENTUALLY gets back to me. She provides me with a "business email" Which I emailed, and NEVER got a reply. The ONE TIME she's ever consistant about talking to me, is the DAY I submitted my paypal dispute against her. I thought we had finally come to an understanding, as we had a VERY lengthy chat. But well, guess I can't be surprised that she just continues to ignore direct dm's for days on end. It's even more frustrating knowing we came to a conclusion, she finished my plush, and then HAS YET to send me tracking info after PROMISING SHE WOULD SHIP IT ON THE DAY SHE MADE THE LABEL. I'm just so tired and done. I am NOT the only person she has ghosted. I was in contact with another user who just said screw it, and got her money back. I saw another user waiting for over A YEAR for their commission. This person takes on WAY TOO MANY COMMISSIONS and then leaves everyone in the dark and upset for not getting back to them in a timely manner. This is NOT how you treat customers, let alone run a business.
  9. Disclaimer: there are errors on both sides and I will openly admit mine first and foremost. I delayed to ship the item out due to mandatory overtime and not having the opportunity to ship. Our area isn't good for having a postal pick up so me dropping off was the option at the time. I made sure to respond to Taks email inquiries about it to keep open communication. The other error was the possibility of the suit having a mildew odor. We had taken care of a mildew issue a few months prior in our basement (costumes are stored upstairs) and no one else spoke up about any smells so I didn't feel the need to state it in my auction as I normally would about any possible odors. I take 100% responsibility on that if it does have any odor. I wanted to provide options first as well as offering to send supplies to help make things work if they wished. Had I known beforehand it held a mildew smell I would have either listed it with a warning or not listed it at all. Included are the emails that were sent between us, the auction listing, and screenshots from Telegram. Most shots from Telegram were of other people demanding Tak keep the costume so I won't be including that as that's not relevant. INFORMATION WALK THROUGH: It started off as an auction sale that went smoothly. Tak asked to make payments and completed them at the end of June. Between going out to Idaho for my father's surgery in July (I let them know I would be gone) and mandatory overtime, I wasn't able to ship until the end of August, keeping tabs with Tak as they emailed me. They received the costume at the start of September and noted the strong smell of mildew a week later in an email and asked what could be done. I walked them through a baking soda and vinegar process I had used in the past with great success. I didn't hear from them till almost a month later on October 15th. They mentioned throwing out several of the pieces and purchasing an expensive cleaner that failed to remove the smell, asking if a refund was possible at that time. I got back with them Oct 20th asking what pieces remained to gauge the proper refund and offered to help them resell it if they wanted to. No response came till November 1st asking for a 2/3 refund plus cash to cover the chemicals they purchased as well as a list of things they had thrown away such as the arm extensions, chest padding, and tail core. The feet were also 'damaged' while washing. During this time I found telegram chats from the buyer in a Furry Business group making it very clear they had no intentions of returning the suit while others encouraged to do a full charge back and throw the costume out entirely. Most of the chat was others demanding they keep the costume/throw it away while pushing for a full refund. I've only included the screenshot where they are openly stating not wanting to send it back. Due to dodging my requests for it, I have no other reason not to believe that is their intention. I emailed her around November 3rd stating I would refund more than their asking price if they returned the item in question, I would provide the funds extra for the shipping. I figured I could use it as a "what if this gets fried in the dryer" tutorial before recording the leg pattern and dismantling the costume myself. I also offered to send one final cleaner I had here if they wished to try it. Their response was opening 6 PayPal claims in attempts to get their full payment back without responding to me or mailing back the costume. PayPal doesn't cover multiple payments on a single item so after providing the initial invoice as proof of it being one item, the cases were closed. I'm still willing to refund her a little over 2/3 of the auction with the return of the costume to me as it is. Since some of the pieces are either damaged or gone, I cannot refund in full. Had they returned the costume in place of the refund, I wouldn't feel the need for this posting. Since they ignored my return request and tried to do a charge back on the entire amount paid, I do feel people should know of this. They claim in a few of their messages that I said no returns were allowed in my auction. I have included the auction description section involving this to show otherwise. I have sent them 3 emails, one before they posted to PayPal and 2 after reminding them that I would give a refund around what remains of the costume and that offer still stands if the costume is returned. I don't believe they are a bad client as they generally did respond quickly and paid on a reasonable payment plan. That said, not returning the item and trying to force a full charge back is not in good taste so this is more of a cautionary rather than a beware.
  10. TL;DR: I commissioned an icon. It had a couple things that were wrong and it wasnt up to par to her examples. After agreeing to redo it, she hasn't responded to any of my messages. She has been online posting that she is open for more commissions, but has yet to reply to me over several months. ---------------------------- Detailed version: Back in Feburary 15th, I commissioned NekoArt for an icon after she had posted opening for commissions to pay for some things. ($35 in USD) A few days later, she sent me the commission, but there were a couple things wrong (long eyelashes, no horns, ears going down instead of to the side). She never sent me a WIP so I never had the chance to correct them. They replied saying they'll fix it, and this was the last I heard of her (Feb 25th). Later I also realized the quality didn't match those of her other icon examples 2 months go by and I haven't heard anything, so I sent a new note on April. No reply, then one in August and one in October. None of them were opened. I emailed their paypal email back in August. I messaged her through telegram, which says she was last online in September. She has posted on another website just last month that she is opened for commissions (this was translated in chrome, so its a little rough). She has also posted a couple of times on her Tumblr in June, confirming she has been online.
  11. On the 22nd of February, I decided to commission Edjit on Twitter and asked for a NSFW piece with me and and a friend , during this time the replies took normal length and I wasn't starting to panic about it at all. Once they took the money I ask on the 23rd if they received both the funds from me and my friend and they confirmed that they did. From this point on-wards communication stops nearly all together unless I started it back up again. On the 24th and 29th of March I ask them if they have even started the commission as no communication was given to me since the start of the transaction, they then responded on the 30th claiming that they are still working on the other commissions before me. This is when it starts to get a tad worrying I contacted them on the 22nd of April, 14th and 28th of May asking them how the commission was doing to no response until the 30th of May where I get a message saying that they are now doing commissions again even tho they didn't even tell me that they stopped doing commissions. Nearly a whole month later I get a message on twitter from Edjit with a few sketch designs which made me excited that this commission was finally under way but after these images I got nothing for a whole month. On July 23rd I asked them how the commission was going and got a response claiming that it was going slow and that I could request a refund if I wanted one, and I didn't take one as I still thought in my mind that they have more than sketch sooner or later. On August 13th I asked how it was going when he then responded 12 days later?! that he was still tweaking it. Then nothing, it has taken so long that I mainly forgot about this piece until now that is how bad of a communicator this person is. I wouldn't even be mad if they just communicated better and not left me in the dark. I still want this piece but at this point I think I might have to accept the loss of money.
  12. So we commissioned one of our favourite artists, lupinprincess, to redraw our irl engagement photo. we have worked with her before, so we knew it was a good bet to drop $110 usd on her. the paypal fee took $6 of it, so we actually tipped her the extra $6 cause we trusted her. It is gorgeous, the background, the poses, just beautiful. but, my red panda nose looks not quite right. a little off. so i asked her if she was willing to change it slightly. not the whole picture, not the pose, just my nose. she immediately said no, and blocked me. all the money we spent.... the good faith we had in her.... and all i see when i look at it is my big nose... I wish she would have taken even a second to look at the drawing with me to find a solution. Maybe it wasn't the nose, maybe the eye and lips just need to be moved forward. But she wouldn't give me any more time to talk about it before she blocked me and ceased all communication. This is a once in a lifetime commission of our actual engagement and now every time i see that photo she redrew, all i can think of is how rude she was about it. so so so sad 😞
  13. I previously contacted this artist for a OTA, saw they were open for commissions and asked about it. I commissioned a full-body piece of my sona holding my cat on May 6th 2019 I sent the $40.00 along with a $10.00 tip. $50.00 in total was sent to this artist on May 6th 2019 I asked for an update on June 11th 2019, they told me they would work all owed art after the 17th. No WIPs or Updates for two months. Asked again on August 29th 2019 No response I gave up on this artist and asked for a refund on September 6th 2019. I was nice enough to let them keep the $10.00 tip. They got back to me on the 23rd of September saying no problem and wanted my paypal email to issue the refund. I have yet to recieve the $40.00 and they've been MIA since October 7th. I did send an email to them but radio silence. It's worth noting that they have been uploading premade adopts on a another account @adoptodelic on Instagram And other people are getting just as upset as I am on their last post on their main account.
  14. Based on a prior satisfactory experience I commissioned BluHuny for a half-body name badge at BLFC in May, 2019. The commission was fully paid, $150, by credit card at the con. The commission was accepted and acknowledgement sent. I was #41 in the BLFC queue. BluHuny still had a considerable backlog of commissions from GSFC and did not start BLFC commissions until August 17. BluHuny promised to complete all BLFC commissions in 4 weeks. I sent in a ref sheet for my badge. BluHuny took a break of several days in early September to begin school. By this point 14 completed BLFC commissions had been posted on his telegram channel. However, updates to the channel, other than two posts promising to get back to work on art, ceased. There has been no communication from the artist and his FA is inactive. His personal telegram states not to contact him regarding commissions. I have no way to ascertain whether the commission will ever be completed. Telegram posts and detail line from my credit card statement attached.
  15. I posted a comment looking for logo makers to make me a logo, LilDogMeat responded and on 5/15/19 we began discussing the logo, I was sent their paypal and I sent payment. I was then told that they were getting started on it. June 14 I asked for an update and got no response, a total of 4 months pass before I receive a response that they are waiting for their laptop charger thats been stuck in customs and that their files were on the computer that the charger is for. I asked if they provided and ETA for the charger and got no response. I went checking their twitter on the 23rd to see if they had been active (I'm guessing there is a time zone difference which would explain why their post is dated for a later date than it should be) and saw that they posted about sending out refunds to those they felt waited a long time and thus I went and asked for a refund on the 23rd. I was told I would get the refund on Thursday which would have been the 26th of September. Thursday comes and go and no refund so I send them a message asking if they needed my paypal on Sept 28th. No response, Oct 3rd I contact them again about the refund, it's now been a week past the date I was supposed to get the refund and a total of 11 days since I initially asked for the refund. No response. I sent a 'Hello?' Message on the 4th and informed them that if I didn't receive a response by Monday I will file a paypal dispute. No reponse. The paypal dispute was filed on Monday, I get a response the next day on the 8th and that is the last message I ever got from them. The paypal dispute was escalated on the 10th in order to give them time to issue the refund without paypal having to do so. Neither paypal nor I got a response from the artist and the dispute drug on until the 20th in which paypal closed it in my favour due to the artist never getting in touch with them. They have since changed the email that was attached to their paypal account, it is no longer they one they provided me when we first spoke.
  16. Back in February of 2019, Kenket posted on DeviantArt that they were taking money to "sponsor" Pokemon stickers. What this means was, she posted a grid of different Pokemon stickers, and a person would choose to send money to her to "unlock" one of the Pokemon. A paying sponsor would, in return, receive stickers in the mail, from a choice of either one of each unlocked sticker, or five copies of the Pokemon you sponsored. I paid the original sponsor price to unlock the Jolteon sticker (I paid $25; though it was later increased to $40 for future sponsors) and opted for getting one of each sponsored sticker. I contacted her via email about sponsoring, and she responded within five minutes, and gave me her Paypal email address to send the $25 to. After sending her the money and letting her know, I never heard anything else from her afterwards. Furthermore, once the deadline for the deal hit (I believe it was 24 hours?), she removed the original post from her DeviantArt, and I have not been able to find it on other accounts either. I waited a few months, as I was unsure of how long it may take for the stickers to be made and mailed out (no estimated arrival was ever given). During these months I never heard from Kenket, nor did she ever post anything on DeviantArt about the stickers. In July, as I still had not received the stickers in the mail, I decided to contact her again through email. I informed her that I still had not received the stickers, and asked if she had sent them yet, and if not, if she had an estimated time of when they would be shipped out. She responded the next day, saying she had received two packages returned to her in the mail, and asked for my mailing address again to check if one of the packages that returned was mine. I gave her my address again in response (the same address I had given her originally, of course). She never responded again after that, therefore I still was left not knowing the whereabouts of my stickers. About three months went by without me hearing anything from her again (though keep in mind she has been fairly active on her art accounts). So now, in October, on the 17th, I have emailed her once again, again saying I still have not received any stickers, and attempting to ask her if one of the returned packages she mentioned before was mine or not. And/or if it may have gotten lost in transit, how I would go about possibly tracking it down. It has been a few days now since I emailed her, with still no response, despite her being active on Twitter during these days. I don't really appreciate the lack of communication here when I am just attempting to problem solve what may have happened to my order. Leads me to say that I have never received a product I paid for, and nearly non-existent customer service from the seller.
  17. In April of 2019 I purchased a $60 YCH from AbigailDS with a week or two turn around time expected as that what their listing promised. I got a fairly quick wip from them and was super excited to get my finished work. A month went by with no communication so I was unsure if what I saw was my final art so I messaged them and asked and was told the file was on another computer and they couldn't work on it, they'd work later. Another month, no contact from them, I inquire again. They say sorry again, they gotta add some background and effects and will send it. ANOTHER MONTH. I message again this time they say they were out of the country and will resolve my issue soon. I try to press for details, a deadline. They say they will try to get it to me in a few days. It's then I notice a lot of comments on their profile from others who are owed art and haven't gotten it yet (the only thing I don't have ss of before they deleted it). At this point I can't even get a paypal refund because it's beyond the time frame. I've come to realize I'm not going to get my finished art, I'm lucky I even have half way finished art. Some people have nothing right now. They are now deleting all comments on their profile of anyone complaining. They have deleted their journal postings saying sorry about owing art because people are complaining. They say they had a problem where they offered a lot of art and took a lot of money then had an art block. That everyone is refusing art and wants their money back but they don't have the money because they are helping a sick relative. Yet they are continuing to post up a new YCH and take new art. They've even posted new art. Yet I've waited since April for mine and there are others who've been waiting a three or more months still also. They tried to lecture me in their now deleted journal about me making up my mind if I wanted art or a refund which I can't lie really kinda irritated me. I wanted my art which I paid for. That's why I bought it. But as I kept getting false promises I just figured I'd have to start demanding a refund. But I did again, let them know in a message that I do want my art and if they can complete it I would really much rather just have that and be done with it. The images are my paypal payment & my personal messages. ramaloki is myself on FA which is why I did not block out that name in the images. I am ok with my name being shown.
  18. In april, I hired DemonLordDante to do a picture of one of my OC. We came to an agreement. I would pay 80$ upfront and he would start working on it in June. June came and went and nothing was produced. I sent a message in July and he said he'd work on it soon. I asked how progress was going in August and he sent me a rough sketch, that I approved. In september I contacted him again and was told he'd get on it soon. At the end of september, I sent him an ultimatum: Finish my picture by the 14 october or give me a refund. Once again I was told it would be done. On the 14th, I filed a claim with paypal. A day later he refunded the money. Shortly after he took my order, he stopped taking OC commission. It would be fanart only unless you subscribe to his patreon. Also, every few days, he would post an ad to advertise his services, which I found really annoying considering his backlog. This ended peacefully in my favor, but I'm convinced he would have continued to string me along for months if I didn't ask for a refund on paypal. This is why I wrote this caution.
  19. I had worked with this person in the past (like, last few years) on occasional commissions/in stream slots, and had a friendship with them. In march shortly after my birthday they had an emergency chibi sale due to some life issues they were having, so I got a chibi slot. On the journal (which unfortunately was deleted after the fact so I cannot go back to screenshot directly) it was stated that the chibis would be done pretty quickly, if i remember correctly it had either same day or within a week I think? It was not mentioned that it was part of a larger queue. Never got any updates or the art piece so after 2 months I asked the first time for an update. Didn't get one and was told they were moving so there was no update. So I waited until June... In a Picarto stream i pmed/wisped them directly and asked if they would be working on mine in the stream, they told me they were working on their Trello backlog...I checked out their Trello and my art was nowhere to be found. Mentioned this and they finally added it. Waited another 2 months (so August), watching their Trello board, seeing them add new things all the time, and do work on the newly added things, but never any update on mine. During this time they were doing in streams constantly, and also trying to advertise to me to buy from them again. Confronted them in August that i was uncomfortable with the lack of communication, with things being bumped ahead in the trello que, and that as there had clearly been no update (as I hadn't ever gotten one, and the Trello still had it marked as not started) that I'd like a refund. They flipped out, claimed there was actually a sketch done (no proof of one was ever given) I asked them to either finish the piece, or refund me as I had been waiting a long time, had been super patient and not pestering for updates. They said they would rather refund, and it would take up to a month and that they would turn the supposed sketch into a YCH. Still never showed it to me. I agreed to wait the month. I gave them almost 2 months, still nothing but them asking me to wait so they could get their nephew a birthday gift. I offered again for them to do a cheaper art piece. this occurred in one of their Picarto streams in a wisp chat so unfortunately I dont have screenshots of this as at that point I wasn't thinking I would have to do a beware, but had offered if it would be easier they could do an in stream sketch instead of the refund as I didn't want to cause financial hardship for them, again they refused. Just to note, the chibi was 20 and the in streams were 16, so i would have been fine accepting lower cost art in place of a refund if it would have been easier for them! I confronted her about it last night as I have been super patient, not badgering for updates, and actively trying to work with her on this. As can be seen in the screenshots they flipped out, then had her bf message on her account to insult and be rude AF, and finally she agreed to actually refund me. This morning I got an email showing that I was partially refunded because of claiming she started a sketch which honestly, there was never any proof of if and only mentioned after I expressed wanting a refund, so I'm almost entirely certain it was a lie to try to keep the money as on their trello it was clearly marked as not started, had zero updates and even now ive never seen the supposed sketch. I attempted to contact her again, expressing that a partial refund was not acceptable, and she had blocked me on Discord so I had to leave a shout on her FA. This was a complete disaster of a situation and I wouldnt wish it on anyone. I am still waiting for the other half of my refund but I am skeptical on if they will ever send it. I left a shout on their FA, expecting that they finish refunding me. They removed the shout, screenshots to show the new shouts that were posted as well as email I sent after they blocked me. After contacting them via email and making it clear I was not just going to drop it and provided the sketch. The sketch provided however, is very clearly NOT my character as it is a generic feline with a small mouth, and long tail. The character requested to have draw is a saber cat, with a nub tail. Sketch is included below to show it is clearly not the character shown in the ref
  20. On the 9th October I talked to quick about commissioning a gift for my friend and we set on a price and date. Due to the rushed commission I asked him if he could send me the invoice before the sketches. He did so and I paid quick. The next day I woke up i get the sketches and one emote being finished. later on I also got the last 2 emotes I wasn't able to notice that the smug emote was traced but someone else did and proved it here.
  21. I approached Voegel in February of 2016 for a chibi style commission, they promptly replied and we discussed prices. I immediately sent payment, and waited patiently for a response. June 3rd, i gently poked for an update and pretty much insisted that i wasn't in a rush. Being a full-time artist myself, i understand and know that it takes time. I never recieved a WIP, either. I then poked again on November 13th, i sent my final set of notes before I lost contact. Saying that i understand that things happen, and that i understand it taking a while. I did not want a rushed product, or to stress them out. So i unfortunately did not put my foot down after 9 months of waiting without a single WIP and sparse communication. Someone else had taken over their account and Trello (queue) to do small updates for customers. Fortunately i still see my name on this trello, but the links are broken and it hasnt been updated since 2017. https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7748095/ (trello) https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8187732/ (Google docs refund form) Time passes, and an artist i follow posts a finished commission on twitter and i recognize the character, so i very politely message them and ask if i can get the handle to the owner. They give me the new handle of Voegel and im able to message them once more. If not for this one random occurrence i would have never found them again. This last set of screenshots is our very short conversation about how to deal with this situation, that i never got a response to. I left the conversation open ended to get their feedback because at the time they were offering a refund AND the art, and i really didnt feel like that was necessary. I was okay with either, but i wouldnt feel right with taking both. I said i needed to make a new reference for my character and that if they wanted to do the art, that was fine. And i never got a response. Its coming back around to that same time of year in a few months, and i honestly think ive waited long enough without any contact. Like i said, im a full-time artist and have been for many years. I know things slip through the cracks, illness and self doubts/anxiety get in the way, and it takes time to put out work. Its hard. And i would have been okay with the wait if they would have kept contact with me, which they did not do. Account hopping without trying to get in contact with your commissioners is also not okay. I had to hunt this artist down to have them leave without a word AGAIN, and its become unacceptable. I just want to make it aware that this person may resurface again and that they still owe people work that they have not done.
  22. Last year I commissioned the artist Seoir for an image of one of my OCs. They were offering $25 bust commissions, which was a bit steep for me at the time, but I really liked their art style. So, I send them their money and all is fine. I wait a couple months, because I know how long art can take, and go to message them to see what's happening and where they are at. Turns out that they have deactivated their account, and I have no other way to get in contact with them. So, in conclusion, this is somewhat of an undelivered commission story and definitely a beware story. Hopefully the attachments work. Here are some guides to understand what is happening: png 1-4: My back and forth with Seoir about getting a commission from them. $25 Bust Commission Sheet: One of the pieces that Seoir was using to advertise their commissions. (Sorry I didn't include their name, this was found on Google Images after the fact.)
  23. I’ve asked Seiruii, for a commission that I never received from a year ago. I went to a Anime con, they were super busy but my friend’s back was hurting her so I had to leave. They finished my commission and promised to send it...I gave them my address so I can get my commission and...flash forward a year later tada! I got nothing...FREAKING NOTHING! They were busy with work but I didn’t receive my commission. I gave them my hardworking cash from my job that I got had to quit from. they only texted back three times. They claimed that it was sent and also said that they will look in their room and do another one but I haven’t gotten anything. I’m doing this beware because as a reminder and a anime con tip. make sure you get your commission at a anime con, if a artist says that their busy or it will be in a week. Don’t buy from them. I can’t trust Deviant Art Ych/Commissions and Artists in the artist galleries anymore. Because I got ripped off too many times in my life.
  24. Never agree to commissions outside of written proof guys. As I don't have the first half the proof will start from the second point onward where they try to resolve the matter. Years ago I made a commission deal on skype to a partial friend (silly me) which was still a professional commission however. They were unresponsive for a while and I inquired about the commission to which I got no response. I since deleted Skype since I don't use it anymore and simply put them on an "owed" list on FA for quite a while. Last year they come to me out of the blue and post this where they do admit to everything. They put the blame on me and then proceed to dock me for a sketch done years ago. At this point a normal person would just demand their money back right? Well I decided to be curt and professional but still give them a chance. They respond to this in a way that even makes me feel embarrassed where they state that they are going to make it faster, messier, and sketchier... but still get their usual quality??? I was confused because it almost seemed like an insult to themself and was also annoyed because they should have made up for not responding for so long. I was again short with them but still polite and gave them a small amount of information to get through the commissions. They say they'll note me by next friday at the latest. The 4th of May, 2018 was a Friday so that meant the 11th which was the next Friday. They get back to me May 26th or more than 3 Fridays later to just apologize and make an excuse again. (Some blurred out as per guideline rules.) I haven't heard from her since and it's now September of 2019. On her profile it says she is even accepting commissions at the moment. As you can tell I have a lot of patience and have literally given them several years to do this. At this point I just want my money back. I didn't really want to have to put someone up on here in the end.
  25. Okay so back on the very first of May I commission Hunter for a 3 character colored halfbody piece that was suppose to be an in stream commission. After first it went well. The sketch was done in the stream the next day, but it was cut short for reasons I don't know, but wasn't really a problem. fast forward three months to mid July and I ask for an update. She replies saying she got busy with work. Again no big problem we all have at one point. Jump another month to mid August and I again ask for an update. She proceeds to show me the sketch from the stream back in May. She once again says that life had gotten in the way and such. Now I'm a little annoyed because it seems like I'm just getting the same excuse. While I understand life happens in all that it's hard to overlook the fact that nothing had been done in almost 4 months at this point. On top of that she had been streaming an at least twice a week doing personal art and even once a birthday stream for her friend. I didn't wait as long last time as I had asked for an update on the 7th of this month and all I received as a reply is "Slowly, but surely". That tells me nothing and just lead me to believe that nothing further had been done at all. At this point I was frustrated and decided to take some time and ask others what I should do. They all advised I be direct and confront her about it which I did. At first I was trying to be calm and civil about it all, but I was met with the same excuse as well as a few new ones. All of which summed up to mean that is almost 5 months she hasn't done anything from that first stream. She calmed she was too busy with life, but could stream personal art twice a week and had even taken a commission this month and finished it in 2 days. But that wasn't the end apparently. She also decided to go to her server and basically badmouth me to everyone there thinking I wouldn't see it I guess and again using all the same excuses as before.
