  1. Someone has posted on multiple websites that I stole their character design for an adopt I made.  The characters both have purple colors in their design, but the one I made has several colors their OC doesn't, none of the markings are even similar, and there's other differences on top of that.

I've never had contact with this person beyond them telling me I stole their design [and they even had other people contact me to say the same things].

They asked to buy the design because it's "too similar" to theirs, but I declined to sell it to them.  Frankly, I thought it was a stupid reason to try to buy it and my ToS states I can refuse a sale for any reason.  They're now saying that me refusing to sell it to them is "suspicious".

I blocked their FA account and hid the comments since I don't want that harassment and drama on my page when I've done nothing wrong.

Right now they have a Twitter post directly naming my account, showing both of the characters, saying I stole the design, and basically calling me a thief.  People are telling them my design is nothing like theirs, but they're digging their heels in.

Is this something I can make a caution post about maybe?

  2. Who: Mangutart

    Where: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/mangutart/

    When: May 19th, 2019.

What: I saw their commission price sheet while browsing FA's front page.  The prices were great and the loose, sketchy style was perfect for a commission idea I'd been holding onto for a while.  I asked about a slot on the submission, the sent a Note with the information.

They replied very quickly to all messages, sent a WIP, asked clarifying questions--just overall it was clear they were very focused on the commission and wanting it to turn out well.

I am extremely happy with the resulting art and the experience overall.  I'll definitely be back to them in the future for more art!

    Finished SFW commission below.

  3. Who: puppisama

    Where: https://www.deviantart.com/puppisama

What: I posted on the deviantArt forums looking to get a reference sheet done for an anthro feline character of mine, asking prospective artists to leave art examples and prices in the replies.  puppisama was one of the artists who replied.  I liked their style and the price was within my budget, so I contacted them to discuss further details.  I provided them with previous art of the character to work from, showing their markings and details.

They provided several WIPs [sketch, lines, a couple of colored WIPs] and completed requested changes very quickly [removing paw pads from hands once and correcting the spelling of the character's name on the finished ref].  It was a really good experience and I'm extremely happy with the finished art!

    SFW reference below.

  4. I've commissioned Pronography @ FA several times over the past year and a half.

They're always very prompt in responding to commission inquiries, questions, etc.  Art ETAs vary, but I don't think I've had to wait more than a month, personally, for a commission.  Their prices are incredibly affordable for the quality.

All in all, I find them very easy to deal with and will happily be going back to them often in the future.

Attached are some SFW commissions by them.  I've also had NSFW pieces done, but this isn't the place for thoe.

Not so much. It helps that a mod will be able to see hidden replies and if one of them violates the Code of Conduct, they can respond "Rules" and the AutoMod flags it now. Still takes some moderator time.

    Okay, thanks for the clarification!

  6. Kitsuko on FA was offering $10 colored fullbodies for an Iron Artist challenge.  The art was a collab between them and Follower_of_Dionysus.

All contact I had during the transaction was with Follower_of_Dionysus, all through Notes except for me claiming a slot on the sales journal.

Although my actual contact was with the other half of the collab, it's clear that the two work very well together.  There was no real delay in the process when the art changed hands for the other person to work on.

A very positive first experience for me working with them and I'll happily go back to them for more art in the future. ?

Follower_of_Dionysus was very quick in gathering info, giving payment details, etc.  I received several WIPs, all unprompted by me but very appreciated.  I got one for each stage--sketch, inks, colors--and was asked for my approval of them.  No changes were needed at any stage.

  8. I much preferred when the front page showed the most recently commented on posts at the top, instead of the newest thread posted.  Now I have to dig around and hunt to find new comments on stuff that's fallen off the front page.

  9. I'm wondering about experiences--both from artists and commissioners/fans of artists--with different platforms/formats for accepting tips outside of business transactions.  An example would be the Ko-Fi site that I see a lot of people using--leaving a small general tip for an artist that you like/support.

Does anyone have experience with Ko-Fi?  Do you just leave your PayPal e-mail on your profile rather than use a third-party site like that?

For commissioners/fans, is there a way that you prefer to give tips?  Are third-party sites more convenient for you?

  10. Link to all of their art profiles: https://www.jasmaeart.com/find-me  I've personally done business with her through FurAffinity and Picarto.

Since August, I've bought several commissions from Jasmae, both in-stream on Picarto that were finished immediately and through FA to be completed at a later time.  I've bought one sketch and the rest of my orders have been silhouette icons.

She communicates very promptly--order forms are replied to quickly and the forms themselves are very clear and easy to use.

The icon queue got very large once, during a Black Friday sale this past November, but the wait time was still only a couple of weeks, which was more than fair, IMO.  Aside from that time, icons have been done anywhere from hours to a week after I've ordered them off-stream.

In all, I'm completely satisfied every time I order from Jasmae and it's one large reason I keep going back again and again.  I think she's the one artist I've commissioned the most, actually.

Below is the newest icon I ordered, it was delivered to me today.  It was an "anti-Valentine's Day" theme, I asked for my OC shredding a heart.  Incredibly happy with the outcome.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I would probably continue with the Beware just so others don't get caught too, but that's just my personal opinion.

I would make the beware for the same reason.
